Whitney from Silk and Glow was absolutely fantastic! She did an amazing job on my hair as the bride and also with my mom, grandma, and bridesmaids. She was able to work with all types of hair (even my grandma’s super short hair). Not only was she able to recreate the exact styles we showed her in pictures, but she also made sure my hair stayed despite the rain/mist/humidity. Seriously, it didn’t budge.
In addition to her hair skills, Whitney also played a fantastic playlist that set the perfect vibe while we got ready! The whole bridal party kept commenting about how good her playlist was. I was too busy/stressed to DJ and so I really appreciated her taking the initiative!
Whitney was also super flexible with me. I had asked her to show up a bit earlier (I was stressed about time) and when my bridesmaids showed up a few minutes late despite my warnings, she didn’t make me feel bad. She was so kind and understanding. I was so anxious at the time and I super appreciated that.
I highly recommend Whitney from Silk and Glow for any bridal party looking for a skilled hairstylist who truly cares about making your day special. She was super chill, which is exactly what I needed that day. Thank you so much, Whitney!! -

I was absolutely blown away by the hair and makeup services at my wedding. Not only did the day of my partially-outdoor wedding turn out to be extremely humid, but I am probably the most emotional person I know. I cry at the drop of a hat, and I was so nervous that my hair and makeup would just be destroyed after the first look. I don’t know how Silk and Glow did it, but my makeup and hairstyle looked absolutely flawless for the entire 10 hours I wore it, through multiple bouts of tears and hours of dancing in 86 degrees and 90% humidity. They delivered exactly the “natural glam” look I asked for, and seamlessly adjusted day-of to some hair changes I wanted to make after my trial. I felt so beautiful and confident. My bridesmaids each requested a different, complex hairstyle, and they looked incredible the entire night as well. The stylists arrived early, set up quickly, and finished 4 bridesmaids, 2 moms, and bride in less than six hours with no touch-ups needed. I cannot recommend Silk and Glow enough.

S+G team was quick to respond. More than accommodating to my needs of adding/adjusting services. They delivered the style of makeup and hair that I wanted for my wedding day beautifully after taking in all the feedbacks I had given to them post trial. My bridesmaids were also happy with their services.
Look, they are def worth your money and time to invest in for one of the most important and happiest days in your life. You will not regret working with a team of pros - planning a wedding is stressful enough, with them, I didn’t worry too much. -

I was absolutely blown away by Silk and Glow! I did my hair and makeup trial for my bridal portraits. Kate & Whitney did exactly what I envisioned for my wedding look! I was so happy with my overall look and didn't want to change a thing. My hair & makeup lasted all, and I mean ALL day on a July day in Austin. For my wedding day, they said they would arrive at 8:30AM to begin so I made sure to be ready for their arrival a few minutes before-by the time I went in the room to get ready for them, not only were they already there, they were already set up and doing my bridesmaid's makeup! I was SO pleasantly surprised and impressed. I had about 10 hair and makeup clients for them, and they made sure to have enough people on their team to accommodate. They were on par with what their timing, and made me and all my girls look and feel beautiful! My teenage sisters that don't wear a lot of makeup were hesitant, but turned out to love the natural makeup look they were promised. My husband has very long hair, and they did a beautiful braid for him! I think our guests raved about that as much as my hair and makeup! Whitney and Kate work so passionately and efficiently. You can tell that they love what they do and have fun doing it! I hope to have a reason to use them again soon! This should absolutely be your hair and makeup team! -

Absolutely felt like a PRINCESS!
This team is a must for your wedding day, and listens to exactly what you want. I’m not a makeup person on any regular day, so I asked for a simple look that will make me stand out in photos and they did just that!! I felt more beautiful that day than I probably ever will again, and it is mostly thanks to silk and glow! -

My husband and I got married 8/8/21 I had Whitney and Kate from Silk and Glow do my hair and makeup and I couldn’t be happier. My hair and makeup I wanted super glam (big hair and false lashes) and they exceeded my expectations it came out so glam gorgeous. They also did my bridesmaids ,MOH , as well as my mom and they looked so beautiful!!! Kate is so incredibly talented with hair .. I don’t know how she even does it so effortsley and it always comes out flawless. And Whitney is a true artist with makeup you can feel the her love she put into doing your makeup. The 2 of these women I can’t say enough wonderful things about they are so incredibly talanted and just such genuine good humans. -

Still in awe over the looks from my wedding last weekend! Silk and Glow was amazing. Their team did an incredible job and brought my vision to life. I have never felt more beautiful than I did on my wedding day. I planned this wedding in 3 months from out of town and didn't have time to get to Austin after I hired them so I couldn't do a hair and makeup trial. I sent inspiration photos, explained what I was looking for and to say they absolutely nailed it would be an understatement. The only hiccup of the day was a dress malfunction (nothing to do with hair and makeup) but my artist was the first one in the room to help calm me down. She was on the floor, pinning my dress to make it work and reassuring me the entire time. Totally not her job and TOTALLY appreciated. I also reached out less than a week before to add extra services and they were so accomodating. I would recommend these girls to anyone. They are so talented it's ridiculous, extremely professional and just all around amazing. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU -

When I was first planning my wedding, I did not think to include a bridal session. After having to postpone our wedding not once, but twice, I decided that the dress was too beautiful to wait to wear and I booked bridals earlier this year. I originally posted on the Austin webpage for recommendations on hair and makeup artists and Kate and Whitney were quick to respond. They were absolutely amazing with communication and were prompt to return every email. Due to unforeseen weather, we had to postpone at the last second and they were entirely accommodating.
Now as far as their talent goes... I left feeling like I was about to star in a movie. Both women are equally talented and just exceeded expectations beyond my wildest imagination. They made sure I left feeling nothing but beautiful and content with the service.
I’ve attached some photos of my special day. I seriously look at these photos and am just in awe. If you’re anything like me, I tend to be hard on my body image but I keep looking back at these thinking I look so beautiful. Thank you ladies, for blessing me with your talents and impeccable service! -

AMAZING, volume, flawless
The dream team. Alexis and Kate were the sweetest to deal with while booking. I had so many changes to my booking because of COVID and they were so patient and sweet. Kate is volume queen! I wanted our hair with a lot of volume so we could be closer to Jesus and boy did she come through. She took us to the gates of the lord! Whitney, how can you be so good at hair AND makeup! My family was obsessed with their hair and makeup and I would 100 percent hire them again for any event. I just want to be their friends. They are so cool and sweet! Thank you guys so much! -

Exactly what I wanted!
I saw Silk + Glow tagged in a coworkers wedding photos. I went to their Instagram and could not get over their work! They were extremely easy to work with in scheduling my trial, and all the wedding rescheduling due to Covid. It’s months later and everyone still talks about how good the hair and makeup was at my wedding! -

Whitney and Kate were absolutely fabulous to work with and are so talented. They created different looks for each of my bridesmaids that were flattering to their features while still appearing cohesive. We had a romantic garden wedding and the natural dewy makeup and sweeping updos matched this perfectly. They came to the house we were getting ready in and completed everyone with time to spare. Honestly, it could not have gone more smoothly and I would highly recommend these ladies! -

My personal HMU team - Adrian and Becky were so good! They listened to what I wanted and were willing to change anything that wasn't exactly what I envisioned. They were also super sweet and fun to work with! Would definitely use them again. -

These girls made my wedding hair/makeup dreams come true!
Y’all I can’t rave enough about these ladies! I had some photos I showed them for inspiration, but I told them I wanted to look like Stevie Nicks had a baby with Dolly Parton. And just like the hair magicians they are, THEY MADE IT HAPPEN!
None of my bridesmaids wanted their makeup done, and I was hesitant about mine as well because m, frankly, anyone besides yourself doing your own makeup is TERRIFYING. Well the bridesmaids saw how amazing Whitney made my face look and they all literally paid her on the Spot to do their own.
Side note: make sure you follow their timeline the day of, because I thought it was a little early, but with the added last minute makeups, their timing was impeccable!
They were so much fun to work with and I would recommend these ladies 1000xs over!

Hair & makeup dream team!
Okay, let me try to summarize how I feel about these two amazing humans.... Kate and Whitney made my girls and me feel like total rockstars! I had an idea of what I wanted for my bridal hair and makeup, but they completely blew my expectations out of the water! I went in for a first-look trial (I highly recommend you do the same) and I immediately knew that these girls were EXACTLY what I needed. I gave them complete creative direction for all my girls (mothers & bridesmaids), and they completely blew us all away. I seriously cannot say enough good things about our experience. -

Whitney and Kate were fabulous and professional. I researched a lot for a team that uses cruelty free products on their clients, and Whitney came through. She is also a licensed esthetician, and helped me out by prepping my skin for both my trial and actual wedding day. They were a little late for our start time, but they worked quickly and we didn't feel rushed at all. All my bridesmaids and I felt beautiful and comfortable with them. I would highly recommend silk and glow -

Best Hair & Makeup Duo in the Game
FIrst off, response time is ALWAYS very prompt with these ladies- whether it was through text messages or emails. Kate and Whitney are seriously skilled in their craft and had me feeling and looking amazing in my wedding dress! I truly don't have much hair, yet Kate was able to make it look like I had a head full of thick, voluminous hair. Whitney did just as an amazing job on my makeup- highlighting all of my best features and covering all of my imperfections. Love them! -

This duo of women are wending, they went above and beyond for both my appointments, I did my make up trial and hair trial and used that for my boudoir session, they were fabulous, they laughed and had a great time with my girls and made everyone feel amazing , they were so about skin care products to help my skin before the big day, and my make up looked amazing and my hair I couldn’t even believe how great it looked, all of my bridal party loved them also!
Communication was key in my day and they went above and beyond to make sure both my appointments were 100 Precent

Whitney and Kate were absolutely amazing -- I still don't know how Kate managed to do my hair so perfectly so quickly. An outdoor event in Texas heat is always a gamble, but I wasn't concerned about my face melting off or my hair falling even once the entire evening. We recently celebrated our wedding in Austin, TX and hired Silk & Glow as our hair and makeup vendor. I went through a somewhat lengthy selection process to determine the right fit - I wanted a hair and makeup team that was highly rated, knows how to make sure you (the bride) photographs well whether you want to go more natural or full glam, can style any hair length and any age group, and uses the best of the best products (clean beauty products, etc!). Silk and Glow WAS the only choice for my wedding day. They are true artists and all of my bridesmaids and MOB/MOG looked fabulous and felt so confident! Even my mom who is not a fan of makeup, was raving about their work! Whitney and Kate did such a wonderful job (and their third MU artist Becky too!). I also decided to do two somewhat different looks - an updo that was more romantic and structured and then had a second look (they came to the venue to do the second look) that was hollywood glam (hair down, bright red lipstick, etc). I would highly recommend two looks if you are interested and would not trust anyone else besides Silk and Glow to execute this so flawlessly.
The only thing is sometimes they were slower to respond to inquiries than I would have liked but we were able to connect, align, and make sure everything was all set for the trial and the big day!!

It seems like this company has had some talented people who work for them... but at my sister's wedding last weekend they sent someone who almost ruined her big day. I'm talking the worst hairstyle I have ever seen, nothing like the reference photo. I had to take mine out immediately and one of the bridesmaids had to take over styling us. The woman they sent also did not speak English, which wouldn't have been a big deal if she knew what she was doing but, unfortunately, she did not so we couldn't even discuss ways to fix this (not sure she was even able to though with her skill-level). HUGE waste of money + when I provided this feedback to the company, they did not even respond to me. -
