Shining Time Wedding was BY FAR the best vendor team we worked with for our wedding. We used them for full wedding planning, florals, and design. Our planner, Rina, was incredible from the very beginning. Even before we booked a venue, I knew choosing the right planner would be the most important decision for our wedding, and it was so important to find someone who understood my vision. The fact that they also excel at florals was an amazing bonus.
In the days leading up to the wedding, Rina did everything in her power to make sure everything all came together: helping coordinate vendors, even through tight time constraints and restirctions. I don't know how she did it, but she made it work!
Her floral and design proposal was absolutely perfect, even down to the Chinese/Vietnamese tea ceremony backdrop. We received SO many compliments on the florals throughout the entire day. It truly was the most beautiful wedding I could have imagined for myself, and I’m so grateful to Rina and the entire Shining Time Wedding team for bringing it to life. -

Rina and her team are the most wonderful people to work with. She is so responsive to every email and text, and is the friendliest person ever. We had MANY vendors at our wedding, and also got married in a downtown space, and she coordinated everything between all our vendors seamlessly to make sure they were able to get everything they needed in and out of our venue.
I appreciated how she understood the importance of balancing the family photos, while making sure everything got completed on time, and she was very successful with keeping us on schedule. I also appreciated how she found ways to give my husband and I time to sit back and enjoy our time and food at our wedding. Rina very clearly knows what she is doing, and she is amazing at it. Her and her team truly put 110% into what they do, and it really reflects in their work. They made our wedding so easy and stress-free, and we recommend them to any bride who needs a coordinator! -

Rina made our vision come to life!
Rina was absolutely wonderful to work with throughout our entire wedding planning process. We had several Zoom calls leading up to the wedding, and I came to her with a lot of different ideas and inspiration photos. Somehow, she was able to see the common thread between everything I sent and thoughtfully create a cohesive theme that felt perfectly “us.” I was so impressed by her ability to take scattered ideas and turn them into a clear, beautiful vision.
She also did the floral design and killed it! The flowers were stunning, and friends and family are still commenting on how beautiful they were.
On the wedding day, I didn’t have to give her a single direction, she just handled everything. From coordinating vendors to keeping the timeline on track, she made sure everything ran smoothly so I could truly be present and enjoy the day.
An added bonus was that she speaks Mandarin, which meant she could communicate directly with my family without me having to translate. That alone took so much stress off my shoulders and allowed me to fully enjoy time with my loved ones.
We are so grateful for Rina and everything she did to make our wedding day seamless, beautiful, and unforgettable. I couldn’t recommend her more -

Shining Time Wedding was the most incredible planning/coordination and floral service we could have ever imagined for our wedding day. Rina was responsive from start to finish. From my initial contact, Rina developed a proposal for florals, and gave a full breakdown of coordination services. Throughout our 7 month engagement period, Shining Time was attentive, taking notes on our vision. On our wedding day, I did not worry about one thing because I knew everything was safe in Rina’s hands. Not only did I trust her with every detail, she made sure things ran smoothly, communicating with every vendor. And to top it off, the florals were exactly what I wanted. I sent Rina some inspiration, and the end product turned out better than I could have imagined. Overall, hiring Shining Time Wedding is a must for a seamless, beautiful wedding day for the ages. -

We booked Shining Time Wedding for floral design and planning/coordination for our wedding in October. From our first meeting with Shining Time Wedding, we knew we wanted to work with them. We appreciated the attention to detail, responsiveness, professionalism, kindness and excellent communication throughout the entire process.
Shining Time Wedding listened to our concerns and input and was able to put together an event that exceeded what we had even envisioned. We've received so many compliments regarding the florals and overall atmosphere of the event.
Shining Time Wedding worked with us to create a color palette and floral design that fit our vision and our budget. We opted for minimal, elegant ikebana-style floral arrangements. They created our centerpieces, arrangements for the gift and sweetheart tables as well as our bridal bouquet and the groom's boutonniere. Everything came out beautifully!
Utilizing a day-of-coordinator with Shining Time Wedding who helped with set up, managing the timeline and flow, and assisted as needed made such a difference. I felt like I actually had time to relax and enjoy the event rather than worrying and running around.
We would highly recommend Shining Time Wedding to all of our friends and family. -

We worked with Shining Time Wedding for our wedding florals, and we were simply blown away with our experience. Throughout the entire process, Rina and Shawna at Shining Time were incredibly easy to work with, efficient, punctual, and offer competitive pricing with such a great value for the beautiful work they provide. Shawna came to my hotel room on my wedding day to deliver my bouquet and show me just how to hold it for photos. She also made us extra boutonnieres even though I only asked for one-- at no extra charge! Their design sense and ability to absolutely carry out our vision was unmatched. Thank you Shining Time! -

I worked with Rina as a month of coordinator for my wedding. She was very professional, kind, helpful and thoughtful. She was really good at running our rehearsal and making sure everything was going to run smooth! She was good at identifying things she thought needed to change as well as being able to make decisions in the moment based on other factors. Our wedding day ended up being extremely windy and she was able to move a lot of decor indoors and make sure it was still beautiful! She was great at making sure the other vendors knew what to do and when we left a few things at the venue by accident she grabbed them for us. She was helpful and reassuring on a day that felt so overwhelming. I highly recommend :) -

I finally have time to share my wedding planning experience with Shining Time Wedding and their incredible floral designs. As a naturally anxious person who had only attended a few weddings in my life, I had no idea where to start planning my own. While many people told me a wedding planner wasn’t necessary, I just didn’t feel comfortable without one. A wedding is such an important milestone, and I didn’t want to take any chances.
A friend recommended Shining Time Wedding, and I began working with them a year before my wedding. From the start, they helped ease so much of my anxiety. They provided a list of venue suggestions, responded promptly to all my questions (no matter how stupid they seemed), and offered consistent support. Although I didn’t meet my wedding planner, Rina, in person until the wedding walkthrough, she was always available for Zoom meetings, even with her busy schedule. Rina frequently checked in on me, gave me helpful reminders and deadlines, and kept everything on track.
On the wedding day, Rina truly shined. She managed everything seamlessly, allowing me to fully enjoy the day without worrying about a thing. I was so busy, I didn’t even have time to think about potential problems, but Rina had everything under control. Everything went exactly as planned, meeting all my expectations. She even stayed late to help clean up without a single complaint.
As for the floral designs, I’ll admit I was a bit nervous at first. I’m pretty easygoing and didn’t want anything too fancy, but I still wanted the flowers to match the vision I had shared. On the big day, while the colors were slightly different from what I had envisioned, the overall design was absolutely stunning. The arrangements exceeded my expectations, with extra touches that truly elevated the look. I was a little sad I didn’t get to meet the floral team to thank them in person, but their work was phenomenal.
Both Shine and Rina worked incredibly hard to make my wedding day perfect for me and my husband. Thanks to them, the day went so smoothly, and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. My deepest appreciation goes to Shining Time Wedding. I highly recommend them to anyone planning their special day! -

We took on a lot of planning ourselves, and hired Rina to be our day of coordinator--or really month of coordinator--and out of all of our planning decisions, hiring Rina was one of the best decisions we made.
Ahead of our first call, we sent a long document outlining the ideas we had--which she looked through and gave us useful feedback on as we considered what support we needed most. We had some unique ideas for how to do things our own way--and it was also clear from our conversation, that while Rina knows how to do a "textbook" wedding--she also knows how to listen to clients to help them make their unique vision a reality, even if that requires some creative thinking, crafting, or problem solving.
When we did our venue walkthrough a month before the event, we sent Rina another long document, floorplan, and schedule the day before--and she once again arrived familiar with all of it. She had crucial suggestions, important questions we hadn't thought of, and proved again she was the right person to help us get prepared for the big day. That pattern repeated once more at rehearsal which was very efficient!
The day of our wedding, Rina was punctual, professional, and in expert control running the show we had put together. She had already connected with all of our vendors, reviewed all the decorations we designed and how they set up, and was fully familiar with the timeline. When the inevitable surprises popped up, she was quick to roll with the punches--in a way that kept our plans on track!
The entire event was not just beautiful, unique, and exactly the vibe we had envisioned--but it was also EXACTLY ON SHCEDULE, from set up to the paper lantern send off at the end! We are thoroughly impressed, and can't recommend Rina highly enough! She was our not so secret weapon. Let her be yours too!
And make no mistake, while we had Rina as our month-of-coordinator--we would have absolutely hired Rina to take on the entire thing if we hadn't enjoyed planning so much (and even then, we couldn't have finished the plans without her input!). I will also say, having planned so much ourselves, it really made it very personal to us that the schedule we made, the decorations we crafted, and the timeline we envisioned were faithfully executed. It was so personal, that I thought it would be hard to hand off our cherished plan to someone else. Who could know it as well as us or care as much? But every conversation with Rina made letting go easy, because it was so clear she was listening to us, and understanding us.
There is no one else we would've trusted with our plan except Rina. -

When it came to floral arrangements and decor, I knew I wanted something truly special. Shining Time exceeded all expectations. Rina and the Shining Time team, the talented florist behind the magic, was not only incredibly skilled but also incredibly patient and understanding.
From the initial consultation to the final delivery, Rina was incredibly communicative, always available to answer questions and address any concerns. She even went the extra mile by attending our venue walk-thru, allowing us to fine-tune our vision and add last-minute details.
The attention to detail was simply breathtaking. Every arrangement, from the cascading bouquet to the intricate centerpieces, was a work of art. Rina's ability to capture my OCD vision and bring it to life was truly remarkable. The arrangements added to our welcome signage was the perfect finishing touch, setting the tone for the entire event.

The team is so nice, responsible, helpful and detail oriented. Theorina helped us a lot from the very beginning when we had no idea who to look for or when to start preparing for things; they had all information collected in their master sheet and folder, which made things a lot easier especially when we’ve had information and communications from all vendors and questions from our wedding parties. Theorina reminded us of our to do list items frequently during the process too. What impressed me the most is when the weddings over, all the decorations, stickers for guest books and gifts/cards were collected carefully and neatly instead of just being stuffed in a random bag by the team. This detail tells a lot, especially considering how exhausted everyone was at that point. Also very great price (definitely lower than the average price of wedding planners in the dmv area). We used the florists from the same team and they are amazing as well!!!! The flower arrangements are fabulous, even better than I expected. We mentioned, in the meeting with the florist, that we tried to control the budget under $4,000 so they agreed to use fewer real flowers but would still present the elegance and variety. The final outcome was beyond our imagination. The colors, layers, flower selections and combination of real and artificial flowers have fulfilled our wish for a fall-themed warm wedding. Definitely would recommend to every couple :))) -

Proposal Organized by Shine
I started my planning roughly 3 months in advance. Came across Shine's service on Redbook. To be honest, initially I was a little doubtful about vendors found online, but I decided to give it a try. It turned out that I was very fortunate to have worked with Shine, who was very helpful and patient throughout the whole planning process! She typically responded within hours and the quality of services and the ultimate proposal totally exceeded my expectation. Lots of questions thrown her way and she came up with a lot of great ideas (ranging from the initial outline/sketch of the proposal, to the specific elements that my fiancé loves, to the coordination of other vendors/suppliers, to the ultimate proposal. It was money very well spent! Most importantly - i got a yes from my fiancé and Shine's work played no small part in the process! I would totally recommend her service to anyone who is thinking about a proposal or wedding! -

We hired Shining Time (Rina-Wedding planner and Shine-Florist) as my full-service planners for my wedding on 8/5/2023, and it was the best experience! They made sure that our wedding would be the most special and magical day of our lives. Months later, my busband and I are still amazed when we think about how helpful Shinning Time was to make our wedding happen. We cannot thank Shinning Time enough! They were dedicated and brought our ideas and vision to life. From the start to finish, they tirelessly worked hard to ensure that everything would go smoothly. The attention to details, the design, and the execution of how everything turned out was beyond our expectations.
Our wedding ceremony and reception are are two different locations. Shine designed both events from beginning to finish.
Both Rina and Shine made us feel like a VIP and made our lives SO much easier during the wedding planning process and the wedding day itself. They were very helpful and resourceful. They created so many beautiful memories for us. As a bride, I could be picky and anxious, but every single detail they did so perfectly and was right on point. The whole wedding day we just laughed and enjoyed, not having to worry about anything because we know we are in good hands of theirs. It was very easy to communicate with them if we needed to make adjustments or special requests. I would send them so many messages and emails every week and they always replied within hours with THE answers we needed. They made sure that we had all the information that we needed beforehand. During the wedding day, Shining Time and the team executed the plan perfectly.

I had such a great experience with Rina. I was so busy and stressed out the day of the wedding but once I walked in the venue and saw the decorations for the first time, I was so relieved and impressed with how beautiful it looked. Perfect experience working with Rina and Shine!!! We had them as our day-of coordinator and florist, and we could not think of a better pair for the job. Rina was very approachable from the start and helped us with so many things that I couldn't even think of an aspect of our wedding she did not help with. Her energy and calm eased our stress the day-of, and her work everywhere on the venues reassured us we can count on her for anything. Shine designed and assembled beautiful arrangements that elevated the atmosphere. The day before our wedding we found the bushes at our ceremony venue were too sparse and looked bad, and Shine managed to save it with two gorgeous custom pieces made overnight! Would highly recommend to anyone planning a wedding in the DMV area. -

The best choice for your wedding journey
Shining Time Wedding is the best choice you can make in your whole wedding planning process. I highly recommend that you talk to them about all your wedding needs. They are experienced in doing so much (planning, design, invitation, vendors, photography, videography, so much more!). I hired them for all of planning (except I had preselected vendors), design, and day of coordination. They are extremely experienced in making custom, exquisite weddings and so well connected in the area. They know how to make your dreams come true and know how to handle any issues that might come up.
Shine and Rina make MAGIC happen. I think our wedding photos tell the whole story of the amazing things that this team can create. You should check out their instagram too! I was so lucky to have hired them because if I had operated alone, I would not have been able to stretch my budget as far. I honestly didn't think I had the budget for installations as beautiful as the ones they made for me. My recommendation to other brides is to STRESS LESS and TRUST RINA. I had started my wedding planning journey before hiring them and I could have saved myself so much headache and stress if I had engaged them sooner.
Hiring Shining Time Wedding means you get a wedding TEAM that will advocate for your vision, help you stay within your budget, and support you in your journey. Working with them was SO pleasant and they are SO talented. I recommended them widely at my wedding to my guests and we are so happy that one of our good friends will be using their services as well!
To break down the details of services:
Design/flowers/installation - 20/10, so beautiful. Better than anything I saw on weddingwire.
Planning - 20/10, so easy to communicate with Rina. She responded SO fast to emails and text . She sent me reminders as appropriate for deadlines that were coming up and was very helpful in reviewing vendor contracts. She is VERY experienced and will tell you if you are getting a good vs. less good deal or if there is anything fishy.
Day of coordination - 20/10, felt like I had a team on my side. They seamlessly took care of things that arose and made adjustments in the moment. Took care of communications with the vendors.
Budget - working with them is an extremely reasonable price. They are extremely respectful about your budget. Unlike elsewhere in the industry, I never felt like I was being "nickled and dimed" with each decision. For example, they showed me a picture of a whole table arrangement and they gave a single cost which included all the rentals and items. It was extremely reasonable as well! This was one of the things that made working with them so excellent.

During our consultation call, we discussed the design elements we wanted at our wedding, the overall theme, and the colors we preferred, and Rina was incredibly responsive in helping us create an Asian-inspired design. She was thorough in her communication to ensure our ideas aligned, and she quickly sketched her ideas on her iPad and provided us with helpful visual references. On the day of the wedding, we were absolutely thrilled with the finished product—the centerpieces, ceremony arch, and other elements were so stunning that all of our guests commented on them! I hired a day of coordinator from Shinning Times for my wedding and the service was exceptional. Rina was very experienced and patient. She thought about every single scenario and helped me walk through my wedding day schedule in details one month ahead of the wedding. On the wedding day, she was there earlier than everyone else, and took care of everything from keeping the vendors on track to supervising the decoration, and calming me down when I pulled an anxious self. I can't pull off my wedding without Rina's help and I am glad I found her. -

Stunning and Great Team
I had a great experience working with the Shining Time Wedding Team. Rina, was absolutely lovely and patient and just a joy to work with. They listened to me and paid attention to the details that i wanted. Most importantly, they made sure to work within my budget. I met Shine a week or two before the wedding and she was very nice and helpful. I had a combination of fresh and silk flowers. Unfortunately, I was only able to keep some of the fresh flowers but not the silk, as they were picked up at the end of the night. Overall great experience and would recommend them to anyone. -
