How to even begin to capture how incredible Stephanie and her team were at making our wedding dreams come true?!?! We worked with Stephanie for over a year on planning every little detail–which was a lot of details because we planned a backyard wedding so didn’t have a traditional venue–and she remained on top of everything and every deadline so consistently. She understood our vision for an afternoon wedding right away, and helped us work with every vendor to make sure everyone was aligned on what we wanted and how to make it work on the day. She was always so responsive and warm even when we were asking a lot of her. And on our wedding weekend, she was unbelievably attentive and made everything run absolutely perfectly. Not a chair or flower was out of place, it was truly unbelievable. We would love to work with her again if we ever find an excuse to have another wedding-sized party…but for anyone having an actual wedding we highly recommend having Stephanie in your corner!! -

Working with Stephanie and her team was truly one of the greatest decisions we made throughout our entire wedding process. From the moment we booked our venue, she was there every single step of the way, helping us shape our vision, choose the right vendors, and make decisions we felt confident in.
She went above and beyond in every possible way. She even came into NYC to help me design and finalize our table décor, which was such a lifesaver. She kept every vendor aligned, on time, and fully informed , something we never could’ve managed on our own. From coordinating hotels and guest accommodations to organizing transportation and keeping the weekend running smoothly, she handled every detail with so much care and professionalism.
Most importantly, she kept me sane. Truly. Knowing she was on top of everything allowed us to fully enjoy our weekend without stress.
Our wedding would not have been what it was without her. If you’re looking for someone who is organized, creative, calm, and incredibly supportive, look no further. We are so grateful for everything she did for us and cannot recommend her highly enough!!! -

From the very beginning (as in our initial phone call), Stephanie was our guiding light through the entire wedding planning process. After just a couple of conversations, she had a clear understanding of our style, priorities, and overall vibe. She also recognized how overwhelming the process could be, especially for a more laid-back couple like us.
Stephanie made everything feel manageable by breaking things down into clear, actionable steps. When it came to choose vendors, we asked for a curated list of options in each category, and she delivered every time. The vendors we selected based on her recommendations, especially our band, photographer, and caterer, were beyond incredible. These are some of the most intimidating decisions to make for a wedding, and thanks to Stephanie, we felt confident every step of the way.
Throughout the process, she was patient, responsive, and always willing to help. She navigated communication with both of our families gracefully, and we always felt supported, whether by email, text, or a quick call.
As for the wedding weekend itself, we didn’t have to lift a finger. Stephanie flawlessly managed our welcome party and wedding day from start to finish, allowing us to be fully present and just enjoy every moment.
It felt sad to say goodbye once the wedding was over. Stephanie was such a big part of our lives for the better part of a year and we couldn't have asked for a better weekend celebrating our marriage with those we love most! -

We found Stephanie through our friends who had worked with her for their wedding at Lion Rock Farm and we actually met her when we went to tour our venue at the beginning of our wedding planning process. She naturally put us at ease and was so well-versed in our venue that we knew she was the planner for us! We had a strong sense of what we wanted for our wedding but no idea how to achieve it so we relied heavily on Stephanie to keep us on task and on time in our planning while also leveraging her knowledge of the surrounding area and her strong relationship with vendors throughout the tri-state area. We definitely kept her on her toes by seeking out very specific items that fit our vision (namely lavender plates and decor!) and she handled every challenge we threw at her with ease, determination and positivity. Since LRF is such a blank slate venue we had many questions about what had worked in the past and what we could do to make our wedding unique and Stephanie always made herself available to us whenever we had just one more question. Our entire wedding weekend went off without a hitch—she and her staff handled everything so seamlessly and we can’t thank them enough for keeping things organized while we enjoyed time with our friends and family. My mom and I went into this wedding planning process very green and a bit overwhelmed with everything we needed to get done and throughout the process and even looking back now we always said/say that we simply couldn’t have done it without Stephanie. We whole-heartedly recommend SHG Event Planning and are so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with Stephanie on our special weekend! If you’re considering her for your big day, look no further—you’re in great hands.

I cannot say enough good things about Stephanie. My daughter and I clicked with her immediately. Shes a fantastic listener, she heard what my daughter wanted for her day, and she executed it perfectly! Neither one of us would have changed a thing!! She was on top of everything!!! All of the vendors she suggested were also fantastic. The wedding was in lower Hudson valley, and we live in NJ, so her input was paramount! You will not be disappointed in Stephanie or her team!!!

Stephanie made our wedding planning a manageable and fun process. We planned two ceremonies in one day to celebrate our multicultural backgrounds, which Stephanie handled like a true professional. With many moving parts to our weekend, she laid out our day to help us conceptualize what was feasible. Many of our vendors also commented on how professional and detail-oriented Stephanie and her team were leading up to the event which speaks volumes. On the day of, Stephanie even jumped in to help with last-minute details like putting on my veil and steaming my dress. My parents were very involved in the planning process, and she was extremely responsive and a pleasure to work with for all of us. I cannot imagine my wedding experience without Stephanie and recommend her to anyone considering a planner! -

Working with Stephanie made planning my wedding a breeze. She was very accomodating to all my questions and answered almost within minutes of any message I sent. She has great relationships with vendors allowing for a super smooth process. Despite downpours throughout my completely outdoor wedding, I didn't even blink an eye because I knew Stepahnie was handling everything. On my wedding day, all I had to do is enjoy it because Stephanie knew all our plans like the back of her hand. It was PERFECT. -

Beyond Expectations
From the minute we met Stephanie, we knew that she was the perfect person. She was always available (for 2 years of planning), cheerful, professional, and simply amazing to work with. Knowing that Stephanie had everything under control allowed me to completely detach from the details and enjoy my daughter's wedding weekend. Where do I begin? It was an absolute pleasure working with Stephanie from start to finish. My wedding was at Lion Rock Farm which is a very “a la carte” venue with a lot of moving pieces and decisions to make. Stephanie made this process as easy as possible, using her impressive background in event planning to set expectations and help guide me when I needed it, without pressure. She was incredibly responsive, positive and a generally fun person to be around. My wedding completely exceeded my expectations and everything went according to plan. Stephanie provided a constant reassuring and enthusiastic presence throughout the wedding planning process as well as through the lead up to and actual weekend events. Her management style is excellent -- attention to detail, proactive thinking, fastidious follow-through. She has exquisite taste and helped generate and build on creative and unique ideas that brought our vision to life and made the event very special. She leads the process in a commanding and collaborative way -- none of us could believe how calm and relaxed we felt and we know it was because we knew Stephanie and her team had everything covered and magnificently managed under her careful and caring eye!
She introduced us to new vendor partners and worked beautifully with the ones we had already contracted - she created a great team spirit. We cannot speak highly enough about her expertise, talent, sense of style and collaborative manner. It was a pleasure and delight to work with SHG Event Planning every way!
To say our wedding weekend exceeded our expectations would be an understatement! It was truly a dream come true! We are still walking on air!

It does not get any better.
I truly don't know where to start but not only did Stephanie save my wedding when we had to plan it in 3 months, but she made it the most gorgeous and spectacular weekend that all of our guests are still talking about. She did not miss a detail. I found Stephanie about 3 months prior to our wedding date. We needed a new planner and very little had been planned because of the uncertainty with Covid. On top of it all we had a very complex venue where everything needed to be brought in; tent construction, generators, rentals, you name it and we needed to figure it out. Stephanie got to work on Day 1 and put all of my type A personality fears to rest. She was incredibly organized, thorough, detailed oriented and highly communicative. She not only helped organize and plan our 3 day wedding weekend in a short period of time, but she helped us to think through every detail from the smallest design aspects, to the flow of guests, to even setting aside appetizers for my husband and I to enjoy. I am not sure how 1 person can do it all but Stephanie manages to. Our guests were so impressed with the all of the "small details" scattered throughout the event and we have Stephanie to thank for that, as she thinks of everything. Stephanie was also such a joy to work with throughout the entire process, she became a friend I went to with all of my wedding questions from invitation preferences, to floral advice to napkin materials! There is no possible way I could ever capture how important Stephanie was to making our dream weekend come together, but I would say that it does NOT get any better than SHG! -

There is not enough room here for us to put into words how incredibly grateful we are for SHG Event Planning, led by Stephanie Holst-Grubbe. This past weekend, after a year and a half of planning, our wedding was nothing short of ABSOLUTE PERFECTION. Stephanie is incredibly generous, thoughtful, kind and so dedicated to her craft. She is THE BEST at what she does. We were absolutely blown away by her attention to detail and her timing... but it is her ability to take what is usually a stressful time for many brides and grooms, and turn it into a fun and unforgettable process that really sets her apart from anyone else. She was on site and led our ceremony prep and rehearsal dinner. On the day of the event, she is on site and ready to go EARLY, making sure all bases are covered. From coordinating with the brides makeup artists, florist and photographer, to coordinating with the DJ and caterer, from the setting up of the event to the actual ceremony itself and the reception, Stephanie is the link that brings it all together. Multiple people from our family to friends said to us that this was the best wedding they had ever attended. That is not possible without Stephanie. She is LITERALLY the best, she is an absolute JOY to work with, and we are so incredibly lucky not only for her impeccable work ethic, but for her friendship. Stephanie orchestrated a year and a half long process which resulted in the best day of our lives and we are so immensely grateful for making it possible. -

With Stephanie’s steady guidance, I planned my dream wedding in the middle of a pandemic, in about two and a half months. Need I say more? Because of a family health issue we couldn’t postpone the wedding until the pandemic was over, and Stephanie was our savior. She helped brainstorm how to keep everyone safe, provided an amazing list of vendors to pull from, and was a calm and wise voice throughout the process and most importantly on our wedding day! Anyone remotely involved in planning continually remarked what a pleasure she was to work with and have as a resource. She deftly navigated difficult questions and clashing opinions. I can’t imagine what my wedding day would have been like without her - because of her help I was able to focus on the important stuff: my groom, my family, and my wedding party. Despite unseasonably cold temperatures, it was a wildly successful wedding (if I do say so myself), in a *very* large part due to Stephanie. Count yourself lucky if you have her as your planner. -

We really wanted to sit down and take our time with this review as Stephanie was such an integral part of our wedding. She coordinated a weekend of events and connected us with some of the most amazing vendors in the industry. To be truthful, our wedding weekend would not have been possible without her.
We hired Stephanie over 2 years ago when we booked our venue (Lion Rock Farm). We opted to have a long engagement, so the planning process started off pretty relaxed. Just as the planning started to really pick up, the pandemic hit, and we had no choice but to postpone. We essentially replanned a two-year process in a matter of months, all via phone, email and text. Though not in person, Stephanie was there every step of the way, not only as our planner, but as our friend. She eased our stress, heard our concerns, and checked in on us regularly throughout quarantine to make sure we were doing okay.
Successfully pulling off a beautiful wedding is one thing, successfully pulling off a beautiful wedding during a pandemic speaks volumes to a planner’s abilities. The pandemic added a whole new layer of unprecedented challenges, but Stephanie remained positive through every obstacle in our way. She kept us informed of the ever-changing regulations and restrictions, and worked alongside our vendors to make sure our weekend celebration was as safe as possible.
From the start of the wedding weekend, Stephanie handled absolutely everything, from coordinating with all of the vendors and tying up loose ends to happily handling our own added obstacles when we realized we had forgotten some of our wedding items. Then, to add to an already unique covid wedding situation, the remnants of a hurricane and lightning storm passed thru the area during our reception requiring us to temporarily evacuate. Again, with her calming demeanor, Stephanie and her team handled the evacuation in a way that kept our guests feeling safe and comfortable. When the storm passed, our guests were welcomed back into the tent and continued to celebrate the night away.
Although our wedding was not exactly what we initially envisioned pre-pandemic, we could not have asked for more under the circumstances. We may be biased, but our wedding was absolutely beautiful and it was made possible by Stephanie. We cannot say enough about her and how incredibly grateful we are to have had her coordinate our wedding. We would absolutely recommend Stephanie for any event; her positivity and demeanor could ease any worried or stressed out couple.
She successfully pulled off a wedding during a pandemic and hurricane... that alone should say it all. -

I couldn't have better things to say about working with Stephanie. Throughout the planning process, Stephanie was attentive, organized and resourceful. My (now) husband and I hired Stephanie as our day-of coordinator for our August 17th wedding and she was impeccable! She is easy to contact and easy to work with – and her easygoing, calming presence really helps relieve the stress of the wedding planning process!
Stephanie helped to alleviate any additional stress leading up to the wedding by providing helpful tips and resources that kept me and my husband on track for our big day. She took the reins on our rehearsal and made sure all of our attendants (and little ones!) knew what they were doing, and made it fun and enjoyable throughout.
On our wedding day, I knew I had absolutely nothing to stress about because she was on it. Every little detail, every step of the way. I couldn't have asked for a better planner, and am so grateful that we picked Stephanie. She coordinated with all of our vendors, got all the necessary paperwork and insurance requirements from them, handled all of the little details and made everything so easy for us.
There are not enough words to describe how grateful we are for Stephanie being a part of our special day. She is quick and knows how to handle situations on the spot. Due to torrential rain and thunderstorms in the middle of our tented wedding reception, Stephanie went around to each table and calmly explained that we needed to evacuate the tent and wait out the storm in the party barn. Normally this would be devastating for any bride and groom, but due to Stephanie’s expertise, experience and ability to seamlessly change course at the drop of a dime, our “evacuation” actually became what we like to call “the intermission”. She made sure everyone had a drink in hand, made sure the music was going, and did not miss a beat. Everyone had the best time, even though this was clearly not planned – and due to Lion Rock’s perfection, not one person even got wet. And it was a MAJOR storm! She handled it like the PRO that she is and we are so grateful to her!
Stephanie is very good about keeping to schedule and adapting accordingly. If you need a coordinator, choose Stephanie because not only does she do an amazing job, but she does it with a warm heart. We only had Stephanie for the day-of package, but I am quite confident when I say that if you book her for your full wedding planning (or partial wedding planning) that you will have a truly beautiful wedding experience!
I would recommend Stephanie to absolutely anyone!

Wedding Planning is Stressful!
After looking at countless venues with my fiancé, we decided we didn’t want to have an “out of the box” type wedding. We wanted something different; we have been at weddings at so many of the places that we looked at for ours. We wanted something that we haven’t seen in any wedding pictures. So, we decided to have it at a local airport, in the hangar where my fiancé and his father kept their airplanes. This decision at the time seemed like a great one! But we realized quickly that we had our work cut out for us! There are so many “moving parts” in an unstructured location, like the airplane hangar. We didn’t’ even know where to start! Finding Stephanie was sort-or “Serendipitous”. We met her at one of our walk through at a venue that we didn’t’ end up going with because we were searching for something completely different. But one day, months later, while visiting the airplane hangar, we bumped into her! She was there organizing an event. I knew it was meant to be!
She not only helped plan, organize and keep me sane through the entire wedding planning process, she was a “buffer” between me and the vendors.
I could tell from the minute I met her, that she has a lot of experience in what she does. Like I mentioned before, our wedding was at an airplane hangar, so right off the bat there were a lot of hurdles we had and a lot of vendors we had to work with. She tied everyone together, like assembling a puzzle! She knew what kind of AMP was needed for the band, for the bathrooms, and for the caterers coffee pots. I would have never thought to think of these things. With the decorations, I gave her a few bins of things that I wanted to display at the reception and I didn’t have time to go around and tell her where I wanted everything. She did such an AWESOME job making my vision come to life! I received multiple compliments from our wedding party and guests at how “on point” she was with everything! She helped create a timeline of all the events for the weekend and she was even at our rehearsal directing people and organizing the flow.
For all the brides out there who are having their big day at an unstructured or at a site that is not a wedding venue, please take my advice – call Stephanie, you will be so happy that you did. Planning a wedding is really, really stressful and Stephanie understands that. So please, sit back on your wedding day and enjoy it!
