Great Venue and Staff

Working with Sara through the postponement of our pre-wedding event was very easy. She was responsive to our questions and concerns. As we got closer about 1-2 weeks out she was very organized and ensured she had contact all our vendors. During the event itself, Frank was our main point of contact and he was very pleasant to work with and proactive. Highly recommend!

Our Dream Wedding at Sheraton Mahwah!

We had our wedding at Sheraton Mahwah in October, 2020 and our experience was beyond phenomenal. The staff at Sheraton is super friendly and easily approachable and they went above and beyond to make sure our wedding event was safe and well executed. The outdoor space where we had our wedding was beyond gorgeous and the fall foliage mountain backdrop was nothing short of a dream. Sara, the director of sales and event planning, was one of the most approachable, kind, and flexible people we have ever worked with. Due to the pandemic, our stress level was extremely high but she reassured us in an honest and transparent way at every step of the wedding planning. Honestly, we could not have executed this beautiful event without her. She was extremely professional but also went above and beyond to make sure that our day was perfect in every way. To be honest, we couldn't have asked for a better venue and service for our wedding day. We are incredibly grateful and happy that we chose this place.

Venue or dream come true

The Sheraton Mahwah came through at a tough time and made our wedding a dream come true. Given the situation in New Jersey in August of 2020, we needed to switch our wedding venue to one with outdoor space, and we learned this only 1 month before the date! Sara and the team came to our rescue and helped accommodate our plans, making the outdoor area available and providing us a beautiful backdrop. For my family and my husband's family, they made sure we had an incredibly comfortable stay, with the staff demonstrating nothing but world class professionalism every step of the way. If you're looking for top shelf service and great partners for your special day, the Sheraton Mahwah is for you.

Wedding/Reception

Not sure where to begin! My husband and I felt extremely blessed to have had the opportunity to work with a sweet, caring soul like Felix. He was the initial reason we considered Sheraton Mahwah as our wedding venue. His warm and comforting demeanor was everything we needed during venue searching and wedding planning. My husband and I both have very big (blessed) families! Felix treated our families, friends, and guests with love and respect. He made sure our parents, siblings and bridal party were on time with the schedule and available for family photos! True story- my beloved dog, Baecon traveled from Canada to be by my side. He does not eat kibble or dry food, Felix without thinking twice, had his kitchen staff put together an awesome meal (grilled chicken breast with carrots and broccoli) for Baecon! Felix not only was our coordinator but he became a great lifetime friend! Without a doubt, we would recommend Sheraton Mahwah to anyone who is looking for a peace of mind; the staff, the venue, the scenic view is worth everything!

The best hotel venue

I had gone to see sheraton mahwah first for my wedding. A few of my now husbands cousins had gotten married at mahwah sheraton and had nothing but good things to say. When I met Felix I instantly knew we’d have a great successful wedding. Felix was attentive, responsive and overall a nice person. He was very helpful. With some management changes we ended up working with Natasha but because Felix had initially signed us we were able to work with both Natasha and Felix. Our experience was wonderful. We had a very successful wedding and we had zero issues with sheraton mahwah. They were able to accommodate all of our requests and also our large wedding (consisting of almost 600 people). I cannot thank Felix, Natasha, and all of sheraton mahwah enough. Thank you for all your help and making my wedding truly effortless and fun!

Magical Wedding

We got married at the Sheraton Mahwah two weeks ago and it was an amazing experience. Frank, Felix and Natasha made our day just perfect. We had our wedding at the Sheraton Mahwah and it was absolutely flawless on their end! Felix put a lot of energy and thought into our special day and we are so so appreciative for that. While we were still several months out from the wedding, it was a bit difficult arranging meetings with him. But I think that made sense considering how much work he puts towards the couples getting married at the hotel during the homestretch. We had 3 in person meetings with him and a our caterer did a walk through all in that last month. We didn't have a day of coordinator yet he eased all of our concerns and delivered on the day of. Everything we previously discussed was there and more on our big day.

Mustafa, our AM maitre'd was amazing. He was knowledgeable about Indian wedding ceremonies and even arranged a practice round for my uncles for carrying the doli. He communicated with my maid of honor to keep us on schedule and took care of us the entire morning. Frank, the PM maitre'd, was equally fantastic. He was all about the details and making sure we had the best reception we could.

The venue itself is beautiful. Our ceremony was outdoors and reception indoors. They recently renovated the inside of the hotel including the bar area. All of the renovations were much needed but now create a beautiful interior as well. The staff throughout the day was adequate to handle our 360 person wedding. All in all, this was an exceptional venue for us. Thank you Sheraton Mahwah team!

Got married here in July of 2017. Renovations have definitely improved the indoor space so although the weather didn't behave for our outdoor ceremony, everything was still beautiful indoors. Felix is truly the highlight of this venue - he is super professional, maintains open communication, and is honestly just fun to work with. He made sure our day of coordination was handled so everything ran smoothly despite not hiring a wedding planner. Would highly recommend this venue!

We had our wedding and reception at the Sheraton Mahwah in May of 2017. We were attracted to this venue largely because of the beautiful setting for an outdoor wedding, in front of the fountain with the greenery as the backdrop. Unfortunately, the weather didn’t cooperate, but we still had an amazing ceremony in the newly renovated ballroom. The renovations truly make the indoors look amazing. Lunch was held in the Skylite ballroom where guests could take in the beautiful scenery surrounding the venue while enjoying lunch.
Felix and his team made sure the day went off without a hitch and were there to tend to any needs.
Thanks to Felix and his team for making our day a memorable one!

Felix at the Sheraton Mahwah makes this place what it is. He doesn't live on premise but he's the most responsive (and helpful) hotel representative you could wish to work with.
I don't have enough nice things to say. Some clear examples I could recall, maybe two weeks before the wedding my husband and I needed to practice our first dance, Felix set up a time and date within the next hour.
The big one was during the reception, the caterer forgot the dining was family style and not buffet, they came without any sort of serving bowls for the tables. The staff and our concierge started running around and made it happen. ( This was very notable, and they had no need to help, it was the responsibility of the caterer).
I couldn't have wished for a better venue to get married. It fit our 500 wedding guests and 350 reception guests perfectly.
The scenery was gorgeous. The prices were very reasonable. But most most most important the service was impeccable.

Sheraton – Mahwah is an absolutely beautiful venue and was a dream come true for us. The moment we went to check out the venue we knew it was perfect, the scenery gave a unique look of our love. Felix and his staff did a phenomenal job throughout the day to make it as perfect as possible. Along with our day of coordinators, photographers, videographers, decorator, DJ, the priest, Felix and staff made sure everything was going as smooth from the start of the process. We couldn’t have asked for a better service than this and would recommend Sheraton Mahwah to all the couples who are looking into a venue. All our vendors made our day very special and created a memory for us that will last a lifetime.

My wedding reception was held at the Sheraton in November 2015, and it could not have been more perfect! Nancy was so wonderful to work with, and I truly didn't have to worry about anything that night! Dora was also wonderful, making sure everything was in order and running smoothly throughout the night. My guests were happy, my parents were happy, and most importantly, my husband and I were happy! I am so glad we choose the Sheraton!

To all the staff of Sheraton Mahwah….this Thank You is long overdue. We cannot thank you enough for helping us produce the wedding weekend of our dreams. Everything and everyone far exceeded our expectations. We could not have dreamt for a more perfect day. Words truly cannot express how happy we were with your services. All our family and friends still talk about how much fun they all had and how much they loved their stays at your beautiful hotel.
Felix was a godsend throughout this entire process. He worked really hard all during the wedding planning process to help us get everything we wanted for this weekend. His friendly attitude made him really comfortable to work with and he did make the entire process very easy and hassle-free.
Frank and Mustafa were wonderful to work with. It was great getting to meet them and working with them. They were there whenever we needed them and took care of things without us having to tell them anything.

We had our wedding at the Sheraton Mahwah in late August of 2015 where we had the ceremony outside with the backdrop of the water fountain and the Ramapo Valley, lunch in the hotels 12th floor Skylight ballroom, and the reception inside the hotel’s main ballroom. The hotel has absolutely beautiful views of nature as well as exceptional service and staff. Felix Hidalgo, our caterer manager, was very helpful and accommodating with planning out our wedding day from the beginning to the end to make sure our wedding experience was exactly what we wanted by answering our questions, providing us with suggestions, and honoring our many requests. Thank you to Felix and the rest of the staff at the Sheraton for making our wedding day special. We would definitely recommend the Sheraton Mahwah to anyone looking to plan any event, especially a wedding.

We had our wedding at the Sheraton Mahwah and we could not have had a better experience. Felix went above and beyond our expectations. He helped us every step of the way with all the planning and last minute changes. With all the chaos the day of the wedding, the whole staff, especially the maître d's, made us feel at ease and took care of the most minute details. We did not have to worry about a thing. Aside from the exceptional service by the staff, the hotel grounds are absolutely breathtaking. We wanted to have an outdoor ceremony because of the fountain and mountains in the background but had to move it indoors last minute due to the weather. Even the indoor space had an airy feel to it because of the spectacular views. All the guests had an amazing time and told us it was one of the most beautiful weddings they've been too. I highly recommend any event at the Sheraton Mahwah and will be pushing people Felix's way for their occasions.

We had an Indian wedding at the Sheraton Mahwah. I knew the moment I got engaged that I wanted to get married at the Sheraton Mahwah. The hotel and view is breathtaking! We booked the hotel for our wedding about a year and 9 months in advance. Throughout the whole planning process, Felix was extremely helpful. He was available to answer all my questions no matter how ridiculous they were. No matter what we needed help with, he was always there to assist. He was so accommodating and had honored all of our requests. He truly was a godsend throughout our wedding planning process. He even suggested vendors which we found to be very helpful. Mustafa was the maître d on the day of our wedding. He did not leave our side. He was present to ensure the whole day ran smoothly. He also made sure that we received and ate our lunch in the midst of our crazy day. We are so happy that we decided to get married at the Sheraton Mahwah. There isn’t a single thing I would change. Thank you Felix, Mustafa, and the rest of the staff for making sure our wedding went off without a hitch!

This staff was absolutely AMAZING from start to finish! Felix Hidalgo was our sales manager and he was such a pleasure to work with. At the time when I got married, I had already worked in the South Asian weddings industry for 6 years. So for 6 years, I created this perfect vision for my wedding in my head. Also, I am somewhat of a perfectionist and was a very detailed bride which meant I was constantly driving Felix nuts. But he never once made me feel that way! He was always so welcoming and accommodating to all of our requests. What shocked me the most was when we received our final banquet order. I reviewed every little detail on that order but I did not have any changes to make. I’m not sure how he did it but he remembered every little thing we discussed!

On the day of our wedding, we were in absolute awe! These maître ds brought their “A” game. Dora guided everyone perfectly. She was so helpful throughout the entire ceremony. She even guarded the flower girl halos until it was time! My family praised her efficiency many times even after the wedding. Frank managed the reception event and he did it so flawlessly. One of my friends asked my bridesmaid during cocktail hour, “What are you doing here? Shouldn’t you be busy with bridesmaids’ tasks?” Her response was, “see this is the thing about this wedding, it’s planned so well that we can actually enjoy everything!” I can honestly say that if you do not have a TEAM like Felix, Dora, Frank and bartenders like Jen…no matter how well planned your event is..the execution will not be as expected.

Last but not least, my husband and I both had every single food and drink item on our menu that day! How many times do you hear that the bride and groom were able to enjoy every meal at their wedding? This and much more is all thanks to the Sheraton Mahwah staff. Thank you for making my vision of 6 years and both of our hopes and dreams a reality. Definitely one of the best bang for our buck!

We had a Indian wedding at the Sheraton Mahwah with an outdoor ceremony and reception in the main ballroom. Everything went as planned and we have no complaints. Felix did a fabulous job from the beginning. He is very professional and takes the time to help you throughout the entire wedding planning process. We had countless meetings with him and bothered him with emails all the time. He was even there on the day of the event and made sure things were done the way we wanted them. Any one getting married at the Sheraton Mahwah or thinking of getting married here - do it - you won't regret it. Remember to deal with FELIX only. He is simply the best.

Highly highly recommend.

We did our wedding and reception at the Mahwah Sheraton. Indian wedding. Went off completely without a hitch. Felix and his whole staff were totally on top of every last detail. They went above and beyond on every little thing. We didn't even need to ask. They're very experienced in throwing Indian weddings.

The setting was spectacular. We got married outside in the front by the fountain. Everyone said the ceremony was absolutely beautiful. The Skylight Ballroom was a great venue for lunch/cocktails. In general, the Sheraton is very beautiful. It feels like you're off in the mountains. Not very crowded or generic city type hotel.

I had my wedding on the 12th floor in the ballroom of the Sheraton Mahwah, and it was absolutely amazing! The view was to die for (October 26th, amazing fall colors), and the food and service was exquisite. We dealt with Felix Hidalgo, and he was a pleasure to work with. Our Maitre D was also fantastic. Overall our day was amazing thanks to the staff at the Sheraton. I would definitely recommend anyone who wants a beautiful wedding with an amazing view, to book with the Sheraton Mahwah!

Our wedding ceremony and reception were this Fall at the Sheraton. We had our ceremony outside and reception in the Skylite Ballroom. The entire day went off without a hitch!
It was such a great feeling as a Bride to not have any worries the entire day. The cocktail hour was beyond our imagination as well as the set up for the reception. All of our little details were perfectly placed just as we had asked. The staff was professional and helpful in the months leading up to our big day and were available throughout our wedding day.
All of our guests raved about the food especially the mashed potato bar at the cocktail hour and the chocolate fountain at dessert!
I would highly recommend this Venue for both ceremony and reception as you cannot find better service!

The Sheraton Mahwah was an absolutely beautiful place to get married. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly.

Felix, the catering manager, went above and beyond to ensure that our wedding was everything we could hope for.

Frank, the maitre d, knew more about Indian weddings than we did and was one of the key reasons our event ran as flawlessly as it did.

Even, Laura, who managed our room block - was immensely helpful in making sure all of our guests were taken care of and received the excellent treatment.

We highly, highly, highly recommend the Sheraton Mahwah. We could not have been happier.

My husband and I were searching for the BEST venue. One that could accomodate our tastes as well as our wallets. Out of all the venues we researched and visited, the Sheraton Mahwah Hotel was by far the best choice we made. Nancy Brady went above and beyond to make our day as special as we had hoped it would be. I was happy with how through she was (even explained terms that I had no idea about!) and was honest about what would work and what wouldn't. Here is why you should choose this venue: 1) Affordable, the packages were a good deal for what you were getting (and trust me you are getting A LOT!) 2) Convenient! We had our ceremony, reception, and guests stay in one place (no driving around to churches and reception halls that are hours away) 3) FOOD IS AMAZING! I did not have ONE guest complain, in fact I had relatives and friends call me to tell me how yummie the food was. If you are thinking of getting married I highly reccommend this place! Oh and if you can ask for Frank as your matre de, he is the MAN! We could not have done it without him =)

We had our outdoor Indian wedding here, and the venue couldn't have been more perfect! Felix from Sheraton was responsible for our event, and was very accommodating and helpful. He tried to incorporate everything we wanted into our ceremony and reception. Our maitre'd Angela was very welcoming to all our guests and directed the reception efficiently. The hotel staff worked with all of our vendors to make sure everything ran smoothly. Our family and friends booked several rooms at the hotel, and made a weekend out of it. Everyone got a good rate, and our own presidential suite was comfortable and big enough for all of the bridal party to get dressed and hang out in.
We highly recommend this venue, as well as the staff. Ask for Felix!

My daughter and son-in-law had their wedding reception at the Sheraton Mahwah Hotel on the 12th floor ballroom. The cocktail hour which was held outside the ballroom was amazing, and our guests are still commenting on how delicious the food was and how much food was available. The ballroom looked beautiful, the dinner was good and the servers and bartenders were very accommodating. Nancy, in catering, was a pleasure to deal with and was always available to us. The bonus was having a block of hotel rooms for our guests available at a reduced rate so anyone who wished could stay there and not have to worry about drinking and driving. I would highly recommend the Sheraton Mahwah to anyone looking for a wedding venue in the area.

Our event was in August of 2012 and we could not have asked for a more perfect wedding ceremony and reception at the Sheraton Mahwah. Our Catering Manager was Felix Hidalgo who was an absolute pleasure to work with. It was very clear from the get-go that he is highly experienced in the wedding catering industry (especially with Indian weddings, which can be a tough feat). Felix and the entire Sheraton staff were very accommodating to constant changes that we had and gave their 150% on the day of our event to ensure everything was executed flawlessly. The venue is beautiful and depending on the time of year, it is also perfect for an indoor or outdoor wedding ceremony. We would highly recommend the venue and staff to anyone looking to hold an event at the Sheraton Mahwah.

Our wedding was this past September, and my husband and I are so glad our reception was at the Sheraton in Mahwah. Felix, our catering manager was very accommodating and always available when we needed him. Everything we had discussed and was promised was delivered on our wedding day. Our guests and I had a fabulous time and enjoyed great food from the chef. Our maitre d Frank was very sweet and was on top of everything, he made sure we were on schedule and we were! I would highly recommend the sheraton in Mahwah to any bride on a budget with a large number of guests.

The team at Sheraton Mahwah did a great job on the day of our wedding including the planning process. They were very helpful, responsive, and answered all my questions whenver I reached out to them. The day of the wedding the entire staff of Sheraton Mahwah, made sure my husband and I were relaxed, they even delivered food to the bridal suite, gave us drinks whenever we asked for it, everything ran smoothly. We had the wedding of our dreams, exactly the way we wanted it. The place is just beautiful.

Only thing i recommend is if you plan to have your wedding at the Sheraton, please ensure the bird poop outside by the fountain is cleaned up for your special day. It wasn't clean on our day and it made it hard as where to stand while taking pictures.

My husband and I looked at several venues in the North Jersey area before settling on the Sheraton Mahwah for our June 2012 wedding. We knew two things; We needed a venue with flexibility on outdoor/indoor weddings and a great coordinator to work with us. As soon as we met with the Sheraton Mahwah staff and saw the venue we were sold! We HAD to have our wedding here. They gave us the flexibility of having our wedding indoors or outdoors (with 24 hr notice), cocktail hour in the skylite room or in the grand foyer, and the reception either upstairs or downstairs. The staff at the Sheraton Mahwah, in particular the catering & sales department are absolutely fantastic. They are such a pleasure to work with and so incredibly professional. They will give you the best guidance and get back to your emails in a timely fashion. I had no regrets in working with Felix Hidalgo and his team at the Sheraton. Felix was incredibly accommodating and honest. He truly bent over backwards and made every single one of our dreams and wishes for our wedding day come true. I know I wasn't an easy bride to work with :) and bothered him several times a day for 12 months straight, but he was great to work with and I honestly would not have changed a thing. He made sure that everything went smoothly and I got everything I wanted.
All of our guests were pleased with the rooms and service that the Sheraton provided. It was a great venue for us and we would recommend it in a heartbeat to all of our family and friends. If you can, work with Felix as he will make all of your dreams come true for your wedding day.

My name is Rakhi. I had a truly wonderful experience here. I wanted a venue with a large ballroom, a beautiful appearance rom the outside, a great location for a hindu wedding near water, nice rooms, reliability and great service. That is what I got. Felix Hidalgo was a saint, answered all my questions any time of the day, helped us have just a beautiful day. He helped us so much I cannot even tell you. I had a hindu wedding outside it was perfect, lunch on the 12th floor with such a lovely view of the mountains, dinner and reception in the ballroom which with the help of the DJ and the decorator was just so beautiful. The staff was so nice, the accomodations beautiful. felix was there by my side through the entire process and i will forever be grateful to that and the experience I had at the Sheraton. You will not go wrong if you have your wedding there. It could not have gone better.

If you want to have a great wedding with the perfect view you need to book here with the Skylight Ballroom that overlooks the mountains. The view from the room is what sold me on having to have my wedding here and I am glad I did. My account manager was Nancy and my MD was Dora both made the night perfect. No one left the place hungry and the room was beautiful. All the food was amazing and if you get a dessert hour at the end it is amazing. As this is a Sheraton you are not going find it as cheap wedding venue but every dollar you spend is well worth the reduced headaches you will have and the great night. Also they accommodated the wedding party with our own private cocktail hour so the guests would not see us before the grand entrance. If you book here you will not be disappointed they work very hard to make sure everything is perfect.

We are so happy that we chose to have our reception at the Mahwah Sheraton on the 12th floor in the Skylight Ballroom. It was BEYOND amazing! The food was outstanding and so was the staff. We worked very closely with Martin and our maitre'D the day of was Felix. We have nothing but great things to say about everyone that we worked with to make our wedding to most perfect day we could have ever dreamed of. We highly recommend anyone to go check out the Mahwah Sheraton...you won't be disappointed! Plus, it's a gorgeous hotel on the outside and inside, which is great for picture taking. Your guests can enjoy the open bar and you don't have to worry about people getting home safely -- they can just book a room and take the elevator up to their room. It was a perfect choice of venue for our perfect day! The Mahwah Sheraton will always have a special place in our hearts!! :-)

We were BEYOND pleased with the service and attention at the Sheraton Crossroads Hotel in Mahwah NJ. There is a 12th floor room available which is where our wedding was held. The bonuses are neverending! If you hold your event on the 12th floor no one else is there- it's all yours! There is even a kitchen on that floor! There are extraordinary views that add so much ambiance to any event. Martin Shanley is who we worked with- he is so attentive and excellent- he will make your event beautiful. The food was delicious and 8 months later our guests are STILL telling us how wonderful it was! Have your wedding here!!!

A wedding is one of the most important events of your life. Felix and team delivered! AND MORE! we had a picture of what our wedding day was going to be like, but that picture was blown away. The Sheraton Mahway's team, led by Felix, were beyond AMAZING. Felix was a great to work with. He accommodated all our needs prior to the wedding. Answered any and all questions and even helped with our vendors. On the day of, Dora (our Maitre'D) & staff waited on us hand and foot. They were there at our beckon call. We couldn't have asked for a better staff. They attended to all of our and ALL of our 500+ guests' needs as well. To say that we recommend the Sheraton Mahwah for your wedding is an understatement. The property is fantastic as well and offers some really great views for pictures. My wife and I had a truly magical wedding and a BIG part of that day was the Sheraton team! We had an amazing experience with Mr. Felix Hidalgo. He was a really big help to us. We had a desi wedding that was planned for the outdoor part of the venue. Last minute, due to the weather, it had to be changed. It still looked just as amazing in the morning. The maitre'd was great to work with and coordinated very well with the dj's and emcees. We were happy with our experience and would definitely recommend this venue to other couples.

An amazing and beautiful venue that has multiple areas to host a wedding/reception. Felix Hidalgo, our sales manager, was extremely professional and worked with us all the way through the day of our wedding to create an extraordinary event. We had our wedding and reception at the Sheraton Mahwah at the end of June and have to credit the venue and the staff for an impeccable event. The outdoor open layout and scenery mixed with the fountains and beautiful landscape really attracted us to this venue, and while we were not able to have an outdoor ceremony due to early morning showers, we were thoroughly satisfied and content that we had our wedding at this venue. Our guests were raving about the views and the new renovations that were recently rolled out. The new renovations make the main ballroom and the indoors look amazing and really help to set this venue apart from other locations. Additionally, Felix was amazing and extremely helpful, alleviating much of the stress from us to enjoy our day. His staff was equally professional and helpful, ensuring that all the tiny details were all taken care of. The only comment I have is in reference to the room management for our guests. Our guests booked out over 80-90% of the hotel for the weekend, but there were several hiccups in terms of room type, room availability, and block rooms. It is a fairly large hotel with lots of rooms so some of the hiccups are understandable, we just had wished it went a little smoother with better stream of communication. Overall, I would highly recommend this venue to others, especially post renovation, and thank the staff (especially Felix) for helping make our day beyond special and amazing.

My wedding recently took place at the Sheraton Mahwah hotel and everything went fantastic. The day of everything was coordinated to my instructions and the matri d's were very pleasent and willing to help out. Felix was my planning coordinator leading up to the event, he was reaponsive and fleixble with all of my needs. My ceremony took place outside by th fountain and my reception was in the grand ballroom. Overall it turned out to be a great venue for my wedding!

The moment we looked at this venue we wanted to get married over here. We found the price to be a bit over our budget and we started looking out of other places around NJ but could not find any which could match this place. From Nancy and the start of planning to Frank our Maitre de the night of they were extremely helpful and accommodating. Nancy made each step very easy and was very responsive with my many questions! Our guests loved the food and the spaces and the grounds allowed for beautiful pictures. The night of the ceremony Frank made our lives very easy and everything run very smoothly. They brought us our own tray of appetizers so we could have some quite alone time after pictures before the reception started. Our only suggestion would be to ensure to block as many rooms as you need for guests and add some padding as the venue books up very quickly.

This venue was absolutely amazing. The bridal suite was gorgeous. The area around the hotel was perfect for pictures. I really appreciated how Frank, our coordinator, made sure to sneak me back into the hotel after our outdoor photos so the guests wouldn't see me before our grand entrance.

The banquet hall was beautifully arranged, and I also appreciated how the staff took care to pack us several plates of food that we could eat in our suite [since we didn't have time to eat during the event].

I would definitely recommend this venue to anyone.

I truly cannot rave enough about my reception, which was held at the Sheraton Crossroads in Mahwah. (I did not have my ceremony there.) They provided me with a wedding planner (comes with the package) who walked me through absolutely everything. We were able to bend the rules here and there--evidence of their flexibility. For example, they closed down the entire lounge/nightclub on the premises so I could use that fun room as my cocktail hour. The food spread was unbelievable--more than a year later people still talk about the food at my wedding. Everything was delicious in the cocktail hour AND sit-down dinner, which is a rarity. We added a lot of extras, such as a raw bar, a martini bar, and a few other things. We didn't do a Viennese dessert cart, and there was no need for it as every guest gets a huge and amazing individual dessert plus wedding cake. Oh, and the wedding cake was drop-dead gorgeous. The Sheraton has its own cake maker, and I was skeptical that he could create my dream cake. I simply e-mailed a photo of my dream cake to my wedding planner, and sure enough, on the day of my wedding, there it was. And it tasted great! Also, everything on the day of the reception was coordinated nicely by the maitre d'. One really nice surprise was a drink cart that came around to the bridal party as we were taking pictures outside--such a sweet touch.

My only complaints (and they're hardly complaints) is that the main ballroom could use a makeover, and the honeymoon suite they provided us with was really just two adjoining rooms--nothing special. But hey, it was free.

The Sheraton Crossroads has a nightclub and a casual bar, both of which were great for after-reception late night partying.

We also had our goodbye brunch at the Sheraton the day after our wedding. We chose the cheapest buffet package for our guests, and still it was phenomenal!

One great bonus about having your wedding at a Sheraton--you will get a TON of Starwood points to use for free rooms later on. :-)

We selected this location for our reception, not only because of its beauty, but because it was so accomodating to our out of town guests. We had the majority of people traveling from various locations and having the reception at a hotel made a lot of sense. The Sheradon stood out because of its convientent location - easily accessable from three major highways - and their willingness to block rooms at a discounted rate for our guests.
The photos opts were also a plus. The hotel has a beautiful fountain outside and an equally beautiful one inside. We were blessed with wonderful weather, but if just in case we knew we'd have a back up.
One other detail that I thought was exceptional was the private cocktail hour for the wedding party. The entire wedding party had a private room for the cocktail hour, where we were able to sit back, relax, and actually eat before we rejoined the rest of the reception. It gave me and my husband a chance to catch our breaths and enjoy those in our bridal party. Overall, the Sheradon went above and beyond our expectations!

We recently got married at the Sheraton Mahwah in mid-May and it was AMAZING. A full year of planning was totally worth it! We had a 350 person Indian wedding ceremony by the fountain in the outdoor space and the reception in the Grand Ballroom. Our lunch was in the 12th floor ballroom with beautiful views of the mountains. We are still getting compliments on our venue choice!

Pros:
Location - The hotel is in a secluded area. It's surrounded by beautiful views and the scenery is incredible from all rooms, floors, etc.

The team! - Felix and his staff are incredible and really brought their A game on the day of. Our events were seamless and the timing was impeccable. The hotel staff, maitre d, and bartenders were all fantastic. Felix was great to work with throughout the planning process and was always available/flexible for meetings and calls for any last minute questions. His vendor recommendations were reliable and honest.

Venue layout - The hotel has a very unique layout which allowed us to come up with a unique itinerary of an outdoor ceremony, 12th floor lunch, ballroom reception. We felt it was really nice to be able to use so many different areas of the hotel, allowing guests to really feel a sense of change in events throughout the day!

Cons:
Poor landscaping - The hotel could use a facelift! From afar, everything looks really nice but upclose there a lot of details that need fixing. Not only is the landscaping bad but the inside of the hotel is a little outdated.

Small hotel bar - The lobby bar can only fit about 15 people comfortably so a lot of our family and friends were forced to mingle/chill/hang out in their rooms. BUT they do have a "club/lounge" type of room were we threw an awesome after party!!

Ballroom space - The ballroom is best equipped for 300 regardless of what the hotel might say, we had 350 and it just was under being too tight.

Overall, we loved your venue pick and wish we could do it all over again!!

Felix and his staff were so helpful in creating our perfect wedding weekend. They were very flexible and went above and beyond to make our vision happen. We recently got married at the Sheraton Mahwah in July 2013. After looking at many venues, we decided it was best for our guests as well as ourselves to have the reception in a hotel for convenience. Our reception was held in the skylite ballroom on the 12th floor that had amazing views of the Ramapo Mountains. The food was delicious and each and every staff member was kind, courteous and extremely helpful! I do have a few complaints, our contract stated that I would have a bridal attendant to help throughout the day. I was never given one and the maître D took over the duties. Fortunately , I was blessed with a great bridal party that helped with everything and Frank( maitre D did an amazing job throughout the night). We had also made arrangements to have an after party at the illusions night club following the wedding reception and those arrangements had fallen through and we ended up loosing a few hours as well as party momentum! My only suggestion is never make verbal agreements! The women from catering that was supposed to be there on they go day forgot to let us know she was going on vacation and some details fell through the cracks. But besides that, our wedding was amazing and we were so happy we choose the Sheraton Mahwah.

I got married on April 7th 2012 at the Sheraton and it was amazing! The day of the wedding the staff was unbelievable and all of our guests left happy. Frank was our maitre d and he was terrific with managing the wedding and taking care of my wife and I. I would highly recommend Sheraton Mahwah. My fiance and I did run into some problems because there were a few managerial changes during prior to us getting mattied and had 4 different catering managers handling our account. Felix was the last of them and he was fantastic. If you plan on getting getting married, i would highly recommend having Felix being in charge of your event. He is very responsive and professional.

This is a BEAUTIFUL place to consider for your wedding and reception, especially if you can book the outdoor fountain area or the 12th floor room which has a beautiful view of the surrounding area! It actually makes you forget you're in NJ:) And the convenience of the hotel is nice for guests!

This hotel is particularly experienced in Hindu ceremonies and it's only 5 minutes away from a beautiful temple if you need another site for a garba/sangeet.

One issue for this venue in this past year was a constant change in management. But I think they've finally settled on Felix Hildalgo, and he's great to work with! They also provide a same day point person who is great at helping make sure things on the actual big day go smoothly. I didn't meet him in advance though, and that would have been nice so I recommend that to you if you go with this venue!
The only major problem that came up for me the actual weekend was hotel room bookings. They somehow forgot to book a room for my parents! They did eventually get them a room, but it was far from me and it was really small. Not what you'd expect for the kind of money you're paying. They also promised to give us changing rooms in advance for our guests staying elsewhere, but gave them to us at the very last minute and so they were useless.

Other than these glitches though, they were great to work with and flexible! For instance, my fiance and I wanted to have specialty drinks served during the cocktail hour and they made that possible! Just make sure you ask that the bartenders on the night of are well versed in making cocktails!

Our pre-wedding, wedding and reception were all at the Sheraton Mahwah. We do not regret one bit entrusting Felix and his staff to manage all of these important events. Felix has a very impressive understanding of Indian weddings and has developed strong relationships with every major vendor in New Jersey. He was beyond flexible and treated us like friends. He promptly responded to all of our e-mails and requests, and went above and beyond what was stipulated in the contract. He even went out of his way to give us the particular chairs that we wanted for our wedding luncheon. We truly were at ease that Felix was on our side throughout the wedding process. We would highly recommend Felix and the Sheraton Mahwah to anyone considering a wedding venue with a great manager who puts the couples above anything else. This recommendation is not just for Indian weddings but for any wedding. Felix would end each e-mail with the line “I am at your service”; for us he certainly was and we thank him for it.

I absolutely loved having my wedding at the Sheraton Mahwah Hotel. The hotel is spacious and beautifully situated in Mahwah, NJ. The staff are reliable, flexible and professional. I would highly recommend this venue to others who are in the market! It's an incredible value.

I used the hotel for my block of rooms only. They were accommodating. There some mix ups but in the end my guests were happy and we were very comfortable.

Wonderful venue and location to get married. Process with the event manager to set everything up until the wedding date was a little hectic but other then that everything went smooth, we did have a wedding planner that was not from shearton so can"t comment on that. But overall great experinece, everything was perfect for that weekend.

The venue and grounds are beautiful for a wedding. Service leading up to the wedding could be better for the price however the day of the wedding went smoothly.

The main reason we chose the venue was because we needed a large enough reception hall that the grand ballroom worked well for, and we leaned towards this industrial-looking hotel because we had so many out-of-town guests. However, we had multiple complaints from guests who had trouble booking through our room block. In the end, whomever wanted a room got one. The planning went smoothly with our coordinator but there seemed to be some disconnect with the maitre'd.

The reception went well for the most part. They were very accommodating with the menu for most of our guests' varied diet restrictions, except for the vegan. I heard many compliments for the bartenders. Everyone loved the cocktail. However, the chicken entree option was (of course) dry. A few minor requests for the event didn't happen but most (not all) were remedied. One of the common complaints that we heard from guests was that the wait staff took the food away too soon, sometimes while they were dancing and hadn't gotten a chance to see the food yet, and some said it was taken out right in front of them without asking.

The bridal suite is actually just adjoining regular rooms, but one was converted into a living room.

If you want to have a rough planning process...

We had three events at the Sheraton from August 24-26, 2018 – a welcome dinner, our wedding ceremony, and our wedding reception.

To start off, the day-of staff – Mustafa and his team - are absolutely incredible. They deserve five stars for their hard work and help in making everything go well on our wedding day. Mustafa went out of his way to make sure every detail was to our liking and he was extremely helpful to our families and our guests. He is very friendly, easy to talk to, and our parents liked working with him. He takes care of the bride and groom as well – making sure we were fed, hydrated, and enjoying our day. Overall, we loved working with him!

The two-star review goes for the sales and catering team and management of Sheraton. We picked the Sheraton because of its location/outdoor ceremony space, and while we are happy with that, we strongly encourage future brides/grooms to consider the amount of frustration, aggravation, annoyance, and stress that came along with the view.

Here are some lowlights:

• For context - we signed our contract with Felix Hidalgo. He left a month before our wedding. We were then put in touch with Paramita. She left the week before our wedding. We ended up working out most of the details with Sara (the director of sales) just days before our wedding.
• Felix had promised us small concessions to ensure our wedding weekend would go smoother. These were all agreed to six-seven months before our wedding and we not only counted on these concessions, but made plans around them (e.g., sharing that information with our coordinator, vendors, and family members). For example, Felix promised us use of storage rooms, the bridal suite, use of some ballrooms, and more. After he left, management refused to honor our agreements unless we provided written proof. When we told management that we didn’t want to waste hours digging through emails and asked them to look through Felix’s old emails – again this is the month of our wedding – they rejected this and asked us to provide the documentation. As a result, we had to spend hours digging up this information just so that the Sheraton could honor some of these basic agreements we already had in place. We felt like we were renegotiating our entire contract three weeks before our wedding.
o As a side note, this particular process was beyond stressful. We spent every single day for a handful of weeks the month of our wedding on the phone with Paramita and/or Sara to get minor details resolved – things like having a water cooler in our snack room in the afternoon had to involve a team of people and multiple phone calls to approve.
• After we signed our initial contract last year, the Sheraton staff was extremely unresponsive. It often took multiple emails and follow up phone calls to get an answer to a simple question. After Felix left, this became even more problematic with Paramita and others on the team. What we had to do was copy Sara on emails and work directly with her to get anything done. At the same time, there were moments of unprofessional behavior from the staff (see photo with the email).
• The Sheraton staff could not complete simple tasks. For example, we could not get a layout of the ballroom and a seating chart for our reception, despite multiple requests for one – we ended up making it ourselves on PowerPoint the week before the wedding.
• The stage for the mandap is broken. Part of it is jutting up and one of our parents tripped and almost fell during the wedding. This is extremely dangerous and needs to be addressed by the hotel.
• The elevators are a mess. They were broken and took forever, often stopping in between floors! Our guests complained about the elevators because it often took 20-25 minutes to get downstairs. Guests ended up using the service elevators as an alternative. One of our friends almost missed her performance at the reception because she was waiting for an elevator.
• We have been assessed extra hotel room charges that took months to resolve after our wedding (which is why we are just posting this review). We had to follow up multiple times after we got back from our honeymoon and received all the charges. The person who is in charge of the rooms is very unresponsive and often times, you have to do her job for her. In the end, Sheraton did ultimately resolve the matter, out of “good faith.”

We will note that Sara was the most responsive staffer and it was easier to work with her. Unfortunately, she is management, and it should be the job of her colleagues to really deliver but they fail to do so. When we included Sara on emails, we at least got responses, and eventually some results.

I had an absolute crazy and horrible experience while having my hotel block for my wedding here. The staff here is pretty rude- I had some nasty things said to me. They messed up on billing, on booking the correct rooms, and failing to let me know there was *6* other hotel blocks at the hotel the same time as mine. They messed up payments SO badly that they charged the wrong rooms to others credit cards, and a guest of mine ended up having her RENT CHECK bounce due to their negligence. This is truly a shame, as since a little girl I had wanted to get ready at this hotel. I would not recommend ANY event of any type here.

Had our wedding here where we sat down for 8 months planning with nancy brady, came to final payment and taste testing to find out last minute nancy was no longer with us! With less then 28 days to figure everything out felix stepped into the pile of s***! We pretty much has to redue our whole wedding planning and also things that were already discussed and promised with nancy! it was a complete nightmare! luckily the day before wedding we got to hotel for rehearsal to our guests not having there hotels given to them, our receptionists giving wrong info about our wedding and confusing us with at different wedding! here comes wedding day!! we had planned outside reception, wake up in the morning look out our room to see the waterfalls overflowing literally soaking the entire seating area and also where the bride would be walking down th aisle! luckily in time for the reception the hotel staff lowered the water flow and mother nature helped dry the area ! we have the wedding everything goes good! best mans room had no air condition!! bags and personal items were then moved for the groom and also the bestman! come to find out in the early morning the best part of everything groom and best man had there personal belongings stolen from there bag!! 900 cash and pair of glasses GONE ! manager states just call cops ! they could care less about the money missing and just brushed us off! called again and they said the bus boy was worth 55 million dollars he wouldn’t steal! hahah worst experience ever! not even an apology phone calls or even a meeting with hotel staff or hotel loss prevention!!

Stay clear

Let me just start off by saying I never take the time to do reviews because I let things roll of my shoulders or the experience wasnt memorable enough to take the time to write a review. Well there is a first time for everything.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. If you want a beautiful and perfect wedding stay clear folks.
This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in my life. Management needs to be fired first then wipe the staff clean and start on a new slate.
The room was clean however things were not restocked. Toilet paper had one roll halfway, no extra rolls in the room. Soap was almost empty. Trying to call for assistance each time I finally got through, staff hung up on us.
This is a place dedicated for weddings...how in the world is there no room service? Resturant is only opened till a certain time downstairs....people are partying and want food, yet have no means of obtaining food when they want.
Speaking of food...
Cocktail hour was a disaster. Tiny tables not enough for the guests who had to stand. The bar tenders were inexperienced.... had to stand on a long line to request a cosmo then told to go to the other bar tender because the one didnt know how to make it. Cocktail hour was dragged for over an hour....
Staff completely missed 3 tables and waited over an hour for their dinner while the entire side ate. After several times of informing the servers nothing was being done as my table continued to wait. After about a little over an hour the food comes out, my entire table is served and I am still waiting on my plate. The server then tells me in broken english that they were out of my order.
As i see the table across from me being served several plates with my requested order...as i am asking the server how this made any sense I am told she doesnt speak english. She then goes and gets 3 other people involved all confusingly trying to resolve this difficult dilema. Finally, they decide to get the "manager" who suddenly with magic is able to retreive my requested order. Upon being served the food is cold.
70 degrees outside, this place has the heat on in the entire place until you get to your rooms. If any of you struggle with respiratory issues take i to consideration if youre planning your event in the warmer months....even Novemember i thought i was going to pass out a few times.
Elevator situation sucks. Be prepared to wait for hours or get your excersise in climbing some steps in...good luck to those on the top.
The next issue, upon checking out I was charged twice. Already speaking to the front desk about it and being told that the issue was fixed...im told a different explanation the next day. So as i leave im then charged again. After being told I wouldnt be charged twice.
I was in fact part of the wedding party. As i explained my issues to the front desk and being highly unsatisfied with my stay..all I received was an unapologetic "sorry here is your bill" with a lecture of how its a "pending" transaction meanwhile the money was taken out of my account!!!!! So i was charged again.
Stay clear folks, you will be thanking me. This place did not accomdate anything.
