    Highly Recommend!

    We are so thankful to Darby and her team for all their hard work to make our wedding run so smoothly! Having never planned an event before and not being local to the area, we wanted an expert on the ground to help us, and Darby was there every step of the way. It was so helpful that we could do all the planning via Zoom because we live out of state.

    We were able to fully relax and enjoy our whole wedding weekend, because Darby and her team were on top of all the details. From wedding party timelines, vendor communication, and even compiling and dropping off bags for our hotel guests, Darby took care of everything so that my fiancé and I could be fully present. Also, multiple guests came up to me over the weekend and commented on her warm, calming energy. She made sure we were on schedule without ever making anyone feel stressed or under time pressure. We knew the whole weekend that we were in great, capable hands. We’d highly recommend her if you’re in the market for a PA based wedding planner!!

    Hindu /Jewish Wedding 10/10

    We hired Darby to help plan our 5-event Hindu/Jewish Wedding at Curtis Arboretum.

    To give you a sense of my love and trust for Darby, if my best friend asked me who should plan her wedding, I would recommend Darby in a heartbeat.

    The first thing we did to start planning our wedding was find a wedding planner. We spoke with multiple wedding planners, but both immediately connected with Darby and loved her warm, calming and positive attitude. Darby helped us plan every detail of our wedding and shared a short list of vendors for each part of the wedding. I think the best parts about working with Darby are:
    1. Darby has worked in this industry for a long time, and has amazing connections with vendors for each detail of the wedding. Every vendor we connected with love and trust Darby, and it helped create a great working environment.
    2. Darby’s team during our wedding weekend were all incredible and went above and beyond to handle everything. One of her team members was previously a florist, and she helped with our floral, and another was a seamstress and helped bustle my dress. On Friday, Darby even got into her car and drove five miles to find one of our buses that was lost, and she guided them to the Valley Green Inn, so that the guests arrived on time.

    Hero of Our Wedding

    Darby and her team were absolutely key to our wedding day being a success, and for making it genuinely enjoyable for us and our guests. We are SO THANKFUL to them. We had a two location event - the wedding at our church in Philadelphia, and the reception in a big wedding tent in the yard of my husband’s family’s home in Chester County. We chose to do the “month-of wedding coordination” option with Seeds of Celebration, which included complete vendor coordination and event management on the day of the wedding and the weeks leading up to it, plus lots of advice from the moment we hired them. Darby recommended some really great vendors (DJ, bartender, etc., all of whom were awesome), advised extensively on our event space layout, decorating, and any other questions or concerns we had (and since it was a backyard event we had a lot of questions..). It was such a relief to have an experienced professional advising us and wow did it pay off. Everyone tells us it was genuinely the most beautiful, enjoyable reception they’ve ever been to. What’s most remarkable to us is that we enjoyed the day too. We were 100% expecting to be stressed out but we weren’t AT ALL! Darby and the gals had it all under control and we didn’t need to do a single thing except show up. Last thing I need to say is that Darby is the kindest, most thoughtful person I’ve ever spoken to and that came through the whole time we worked with her. Wedding planning is such a busy, stressful time and it meant so much to me to have a positive, kind hearted person helping us. What a gift she was to us! I was so stressed out before I hired her when I was trying to do everything on my own. If I could do it over again I would have reached out to her way sooner and probably even chosen the full wedding planning package! The Seeds of Celebration crew knows what they’re doing and they are well worth the money.

    Amazing experience

    I have used Darby and her team for both my wedding and my baby shower and it was amazing. She is attentive, kind, patient, everything you could ever need in a planner. And she is great at reading you, she can be as hands-on or hands-off as you need in order to feel comfortable. I highly recommend her.

    Darby and Her Team Made our Dream Wedding a Reality - Even when it was 40 degrees and snowing/raining!

    I cannot recommend Darby and her team enough! She was absolutely amazing and made our special day feel as smooth and seamless as possible. From start to finish, I felt completely at ease—she took care of every detail with such professionalism and care that I didn’t feel stressed at all.

    On the day of the wedding, we ended up changing our timeline because it was raining and 40 degrees, but she handled it flawlessly. Not only did she make sure I got the picture I wanted at my dream location, but she also secured an indoor photo location that turned out to be even better than I could have dreamed of. Her team was also an incredible help. With so many moving pieces, she brought in extra support to ensure every touchpoint was met and that all our guests knew exactly where to go and what to do.

    What truly sets her apart is her incredible ability to bring your vision to life. She understood exactly what we wanted and made it happen better than we could have imagined. By the end of the planning process and the big day itself, she felt more like family than a wedding planner.

    If you’re looking for someone who will go above and beyond to make your day perfect, look no further. I would recommend Darby to anyone in a heartbeat! My Family used her for my sisters wedding, my wedding and hope to use her for my other sisters wedding when she picks her wedding date! Thank you for making our dream wedding a reality.

    All-In-One Wedding Planning, simply the best!

    Darby and team were amazing to work with! From the beginning Darby truly listened to our vision for the wedding and took the time to understand our style, preferences, and budget. Throughout the planning process, her attention to detail was impeccable. Communication was seamless from start to finish.     AMAZING cross country planning experience!

    Darby is one of a kind - you could not find a better wedding planner. We live in Montana, but got married in Philadelphia - Darby knew all the best vendors, and made planning from afar a breeze! She was calm, thoughtful, and communicative throughout the entire process. We opted for her full service planning option, and were so impressed with the value we experienced - Darby brought a complete team to support her on our wedding day, so my husband and I truly didn't worry about a single thing. Our wedding party and family who got to know her all commented on Darby's kindness and incredible work - also that they wished they lived in Philly so they could hang with her regularly!     Above and beyond exceptional

    Darby Burns made all of my wedding dreams come true. She was a beyond full service provider who has exceptional taste and CARES about her clients. A true professional. Darby helped with our international affair hosted in center city Philadelphia. She managed to figure out how to accommodate family and cultures across 5 international countries and coast to coast in the USA. Our family which spans from the EU ( encl. Barcelona) and California up to New England were quite a group to manage. She instantly took the lead helping my husbands family with learning the US cultural wedding norms. She helped my husbands non English speaking family with vendor selection and to coordinate welcome events (including rehearsal dinner). This was a side project for her as she still focused on primarily a working with me to plan the most exquisite wedding event of their lives. 6 events (across Philadelphia and the mainline) in 4 days pulled off with the utmost professionalism and coordination like no one has ever seen. Full service experience- family management, scheduling, event plans, vendor management, guest management, special request execution, financial and budget management, food and drink confirmation, decor and design support and setup. Years later we will all continue to be in awe of her talents. Thank you, thank you! You provided a service, a luxury experience and a friendship which exceeds all else. All of that puts Seeds of Celebration in a catagory with the best of the industry.

    Darby and her team completely put my husband and I at ease on our wedding day. We booked Darby as our day-of coordinator and she really went above and beyond. Leading up to my wedding day, she was available to recommend wedding vendors and we ended up booking quite a few professionals based off of her suggestions. Besides confirming and checking in with my vendors, she she was on-call for any last minute changes and there were quite a few due to the fact that the forecast called for rain (we had an outdoor wedding). This meant that additional rentals were required along with floor plans which she handled with ease. On the day of the wedding, her team was on-time, professional and friendly. Erin was my main planner and she was absolutely wonderful. She always seemed right behind me when I needed her without being overbearing. She even held an umbrella for me during photos when it was raining all with a smile on her face. I cannot say enough good things about Darby and her team, I highly recommend taking the stress off yourself and book her team.

    Working with Darby and Seeds of Celebration for our son’s Bar Mitzvah was a wonderful experience. It was like having one of your best friends help you plan your event without having any of the stress that could bring. She had wonderful suggestions for vendors. Our catering was fantastic! We were able to enjoy the entire Bar Mitzvah weekend so much more than we ever could have without Darby and her team. And speaking of her team, even though we hadn’t worked with all of them as much as Darby, they jumped right in with all phases of our event and were as warm, caring and involved as Darby, herself. The entire team made sure every detail was attended to and everyone had a wonderful time. Thank you Seeds of Celebration!

    Darby is a wonderful, amazing wedding planner. She had just a little over four months to help us plan and coordinate our wedding. My daughter was out of town in an intense school program for almost all of that time, and Darby managed to develop relationships with her and her fiance, with me and my husband, which were so important to planning the wedding. Our wedding went so beautifully, smoothly, and was such fun, largely due to Darby's efforts and attention to detail. Her composure, experience and the loveliness of who she is made her a joy to work with.

    How many good things can I say about Darby? I had never heard of a ‘day-of’ wedding coordinator until I got into the planning process. It became readily apparent that I was naïve in thinking that choosing your venue, caterer, florist. Photographer, and DJ meant you had done the bulk of the work. As we got closer to the wedding, the tasks that needed to be done seemed to keep multiplying. As a day of coordinator she did much more than coordinate things that day. She got involved several weeks beforehand coordinating communication between the vendors (Will the officiant have a microphone? Who provides that? Did anyone call the DJ to see? Does the florist know how the officiant is going to set things up? Where did I want the table cards? Which tables would people sit at and does not only the caterer know this but ALSO the photographer who will be tasked with finding groups of people we arranged to be photographed? Also when is each vendor arriving and when should they arrive? Who needs to coordinate with who? ) And this was only the beginning. Who would make sure the day itself ran smoothly? I did not want to burden my family or wedding party who would not have been taken away from the event itself to coordinate these things. Plus, how would they have coordinated with each other? And WE ALSO wanted to enjoy the wedding. We had put so much time and effort into it. From the moment we met Darby we felt confident that she would help us handle all of these things. She’s super organized while also being calm and easygoing. She coordinated with everyone needed for the rehearsal and ran it. On the day of the wedding, I literally arrived at the venue and let her run the show. I felt completely at ease. Everyone who interacted with Darby thought she was wonderful. I highly recommend her!

    Darby and her team are incredible! She played a pivotal role in every significant decision we made during the year leading up to the event. In addition to her foresight and experience, she also worked as mediator and therapist between the bride, her folks, and that squirrelly groom.     Darby is fabulous - she knows the business and how to make things run smoothly. She knows the vendors, caterers, etc. She helped with both my rehearsal dinner and wedding, and I can't imagine how the events would have happened without her help. She is also more reasonably priced than other event planners in the area - but I felt the service was top tier. Highly, highly recommended.

    Darby was fabulous - we used her for our wedding in October 2015. We decided we only needed "day of" coordination, but Darby started helping us about a month before. She communicated with our vendors and reviewed our contracts prior to our wedding day, to make sure we were getting what we were supposed to on the actual day. She was extremely helpful in making sure we had everything at the venue on the day of, she even picked things up from our house. She made sure everyone knew where they were supposed to be on the wedding day, including family members and bridal party. Mostly importantly, she coordinated the whole timeline with the photographer, so that everyone would be on time and prepared. She was on top of it! Darby was professional, super sweet, friendly, and kept the mood light! I would highly recommend her.

    Highly recommend!!!

    Darby was our full-service planner for our wedding in summer 2024. We held a Catholic ceremony at St. John the Evangelist and the reception at the Academy of Music. After extensive research and interviews, we chose Darby as our wedding planner, and we are so glad we did! First, and most importantly from the perspective of wanting to ensure our guests were treated well, Darby is an incredibly kind and warm person, and the same goes for her team. Darby is firm and direct, while being polite and friendly. All of our guests who interacted with her and her staff, especially our wedding party, loved her. Darby is not one to list off all of the things she does behind the scenes, but in the weeks after our wedding, numerous stories have surfaced showing just how heroic she is--how she and her team went above and beyond to make sure we didn't have to worry on our special day. She pulled out tape from nowhere when my sister/MOH's shoes broke on the dance floor; her team steamed and re-steamed all of the bridesmaids' dresses while we were getting ready (including dresses bridesmaids brought as second options!); she helped navigate a large number of guest cancellations after a death in my family. For her kindness alone, we couldn't recommend her more. Darby's experience in the industry, and especially with our reception venue (which only hosts about 4-6 weddings a year), were invaluable. She made good vendor recommendations, including the videographer and florist we ultimately hired. She was also open to feedback when her recommendations did not fit our tastes. We are definitely more Type-A, so early on in the process, it was a bit difficult navigating how we would work with Darby and recognizing that she had other weddings that were more pressing. But considering that we planned the wedding from NYC and were only able to make limited trips to Philly, Darby was always happy to jump on calls/Zooms and do her best to accommodate our schedules. When we got to the month before, there was a lot more communication--weekly meetings, timelines, etc. And once we got to the actual weekend, Darby and her team were just the absolute best. I could go on and on and list all of the little things that they did for us that showed us how much they cared--lugging 20+ umbrellas to our hotel room just in case it rained, tying 150+ ribbons onto our ceremony booklets, organizing and handing out vendor tips, just to start. We highly recommend Darby, especially if your wedding is at the Academy of Music and if you're planning from afar.

    A stressful, disappointing and exhausting experience

    This is LONG to cover the main issues, but there are many more examples not included. I hired the Seeds of Celebration full service planning package for my wedding last year.

    Our biggest issues were around timeline and budget. We had eight months to plan our wedding, but in the first four months, the only thing accomplished was booking our venue. Darby said she was talking with vendors behind the scenes, but there was little (if anything) to show for it. She wasn't very responsive to us during this time period - we only talked three times in the first four months of planning.

    When my spouse and I finally insisted on getting to work, with four months remaining, we were starting from scratch on nearly every aspect of planning. Darby continued to show a lack of initiative and foresight which left us having to manage the planning process. This led to a rushed, stressed, and overwhelming experience. Due to the procrastination, we missed out on some of the things we had wanted, like engagement photos.

    Sticking to our budget was a constant battle. Darby initially prepared several budget proposals that were over our budget (the actual amount of money we had to spend). After we spent months asking for an accurate budget, she sent one, but she included a strange and defensive comment about how she "never promised" to follow a budget. Darby continued to steer us towards vendors we could never afford, mislead us about pricing and encourage overspending - even as my spouse and I clearly stated that sticking to our budget was a priority.

    Darby's guidance around certain planning pieces felt very limited. When we had to choose a photographer, she sent us an email with a few links to different photographers. No other information or guidance, just a handful of links. That left us to do all the research on our own about their details, pricing, etc and make the decision by ourselves. For stationary, she sent us an email that was just a few links to basic sites like Minted, Zola, and Zazzle. If she had relationships with those vendors, or any reason for recommending them, or any information about them beyond their URL, she didn't share that with us.

    At times, working with Darby just felt way harder than doing things ourselves. For example, my spouse initially wanted a Manhattan as our signature drink. But with Darby this turned into endless conversations about which specific vermouth to source for the drink. My spouse eventually gave up and chose an Old Fashioned instead, because apparently we couldn't just ask Darby to find a vermouth and be done with it. Eventually, we stopped even bringing up things that we wanted, because we knew it would turn into a draining black hole of conversations in which little was accomplished.

    At times, I felt like Darby was trying to just convince us to be happy with subpar service. One of the most helpful things she did was arrange a member of her team to tailor my dress. But the tailor failed to take in the sleeves properly and left the fabric looking twisted and lumpy. Darby said the fabric wouldn't allow any further alteration and repeatedly told me that "the fabric will never lay completely flat," but I never said I wanted it to lay completely flat. I said I wanted it to fit.

    Three days before my wedding, I sobbed all night because my dress looked so bad. Finally Darby suggested another tailor to help, who was able to make my dress presentable (not perfect, but something I could wear without crying), the DAY before the wedding. I appreciate the last minute help. But if Darby had focused on handling the issue properly, instead of dismissing my concerns, it wouldn't have become a crisis.

    Day-of issues included: 1) during family photos, Darby's team was supposed to coordinate getting through the list of photos we wanted, but they didn't. They completely missed getting photos with my aunt, uncle, cousins, and several specific groupings of people that we wanted. I (the bride) had to jump in and coordinate photos to try to get at least some of our desired photos.

    2) shortly prior to the ceremony, we discovered that our candles didn't fit in our candle holders. These candles played an important role in our ceremony. Darby's team did not take care of this problem. My spouse and his groomsmen spent the wedding morning calling around to various stores and figuring out a solution.

    3) after the ceremony, my spouse and I were supposed to immediately go to a private room to share a meal and enjoy our first moments together as a married couple. But, the room was not set up properly. A member of Darby's team said she misunderstood how to set up the room. The instructions were fairly simple and we went over it thoroughly in advance. We awkwardly waited in a hallway for the room to be set up.

    4) During the reception, in the middle of dancing, Darby interrupted me and asked me to decide on the spot what I wanted to do with the leftover alcohol. I feel this could have been planned for in advance instead.

    5) Darby did not make a plan with us for the end of the night logistics. By the time the reception ended and we were ready to leave, my spouse and I had to spend about 45 minutes deciding what to do with all the leftover stuff, food, alcohol, flowers, packing things up, cleaning up, etc. I was exhausted and desperate to leave, but for some reason we couldn't. My spouse was running around in his suit transporting boxes.

    6) My maid of honor got pooped on by a bird right before the ceremony. She said she asked my planner for a wipe and my planner acted annoyed at her, refused to help and said she was busy with the ceremony.

    Darby's response to feedback was disappointing. When we expressed our concerns, she would respond with some combination of apology, defensiveness, and reassurance. She typically didn't take action to make things right. She might do what we asked for, but only after we asked repeatedly.

    My spouse and I have had to process a lot of difficult emotions with regard to our experience with Darby and her impact on our wedding. Nearly every aspect of our planning process and wedding day was affected by the stress, rushing, disappointment, overspending and exhaustion of working with Darby.

    As for the positives, Darby connected us with a few good vendors, and she is a very nice and friendly person to talk to.
