Schone Bride was far and away the best experience I had while looking for a wedding dress during my engagement. Their selection is extremely unique, and their staff personalizes everyone's experience. Annie was a rockstar throughout finding the right dress, getting it tailored, and thinking through accessories. I wish I could do it again and again! -

My experience at Schone Bride was so wonderful. I had visited a few dress boutiques before I came here and each time it felt like I was trying on costumes. Going to Schone bride and trying on their beautiful gowns was the first time I felt like I could find a dress for my wedding. They have so many beautiful and unique styles, but many still feel timeless. I had gone in with some ideas of dressed they carry that I wanted to try and I loved them. I was between 2 Rebecca Schoenveld dressed (Juniper and Layla) which are both absolutely gorgeous.
I went to a few more dress shops after, and ultimately went back to Schone bride to purchase the Layla gown. The dress is so beyond beautiful and so “me”. The dresses are made to order, and I received it just around the time they had told me it would be ready. What I loved is that since the dress has cascading lace that gets more condensed towards the bottom they made the dress length to my height (helloooo like who does this?!). The dress in the size I ordered fit me perfectly, I didn’t have to do any alterations at all. I did wind up adding some extra appliques to the bodice (they provided the extra appliques) since the sample I tried on was a bit more filled in that my dress came out. The whole experience at Schone bride was great. They had 2 girls measure me to check the measurements, the dress arrived on time and I got to wear the dress of my dreams. -

I purchased a custom Lincoln gown by Rebecca Schoneveld from this boutique after falling in love with the gown on the designer's website. Jaclyn Jordan (who is a talented designer in her own right -- look her up!) was my consultant, and she did an excellent job of listening to what I wanted before having me try on the Lincoln along with a few other gowns with similar aesthetics. I was hesitant to buy at my appointment because the Lincoln was literally the first gown I tried on, but Jaclyn didn't pressure me to make a quick choice, and she provided her card so I could place my order by email later once I had made my decision. I really appreciated how simple they made the whole process, and that they didn't treat me like a weirdo for coming into the shop alone instead of bringing an entourage.
My only regret with Schone Bride is that because I ordered a customization to my gown, they had me come in to approve the bodice design before they finished the construction. Unfortunately, they didn't ask me to try it on at my appointment, and I didn't insist upon it (and I rationalized that by telling myself it must have been too fragile for me to try on) -- which turned out to be a very expensive mistake. When the gown was finished, the neckline was cut a little over an inch too low, and I had to pay $500 to have the bodice basically reconstructed by my seamstress so I wouldn't be overexposed. I understand that Rebecca Schoneveld makes their gowns in standard sizes rather than sized to the bride, but since it seems like this problem could have easily been avoided by making sure I tried the customization on my body. I think I'm also partly to blame here for not speaking up more about the gown (especially at the appointment when I picked it up and paid the final balance), so the main point I'm trying to get across here isn't that Schone Bride is at fault for negligence, but rather that if you ask for a customization you need to be proactive in making sure it comes out the way you want, since the shop does not do alterations. If I had been more willing to point out the problem with the bodice, I would have spared myself a lot of $ and anxiety about alterations. -

From the start it was unprofessional. The consultant sat me, my mom and two friends down and in front of everyone asked my normal dress size (which isn’t relevant to bridal sizing, you can look at me and know my size — I’m not a size 2), and the dress budget. She didn’t ask who was with me/how we were related. Honestly my friend didn’t need to know my dress budget.
On their website (and when my mom called to make the appointment!) they heavily emphasized that they had ALL dresses in at least a size 18 sample and due to the customizable nature of their dresses they said it was a very inclusive and positive environment. I am not a sample size but I am smaller than a size 18. I was excited to go there and try on a bunch of different dresses!
When I got to the first dress she didn’t help me at all and kept trying to squeeze my chest into a clearly too small top. She started making small jabs about about my body as I tried on a few other dresses. In front of my mom and friends She said my body wasn’t normal. She proceeded to look at me like she didn’t know what to do about boobs and said I don’t know which kind of top would even be flattering. She never once guided the appointment in a way to make me feel good about my body, my wedding, any dress, or top option. Never once in the dressing room did she even help me with the dresses. She’d upzip them and hand them to me — this caused me to step all over them. She continued to make insensitive comments about my body and after trying on multiple dresses I was done.
I don’t walk around feeling bad about myself and no one else ever should make me feel that way. Buying a wedding dress is supposed to be fun. It’s anxiety inducing enough and we pick ourselves apart enough. The bridal consultant should just be trying to make you feel good - not pick your body apart for you. I will not go back there nor recommend it to any friends who are engaged.
