The tasting was delicious, and the food was so excellent - the shrimp and grits station was the absolute highlight of my dinner (my wife and I had probably 10 bowls between us). The flaming donuts were also excellent!! The pricing for our event was very fair and the food far exceeded expectations (which were already high!!)
The whole team that worked our wedding was professional and super cordial, and handled the crowd like champions. Super appreciative of them! Everyone still talks about how good the food was. Thank you guys so much!

Chef Mark and his team were such an incredible part of our wedding experience. From the very beginning, they were responsive, thoughtful, and genuinely invested in making our menu feel personal. We were so impressed by the variety they offered, and as two people who love to cook, it meant a lot to create a meal that truly reflected us as a couple.
On our wedding day, despite an unexpected power outage that delayed the start of our reception, Chef Mark and his team handled everything seamlessly. The food was prepared on time, tasted absolutely amazing, and was served without a hitch. Our guests gave us so many compliments about the meal, and it was clear how much effort went into every detail. Chef Mark and his wife, Hayley, are not only talented at what they do but also incredibly kind people, which made the entire experience even better. Savannah Event Catering was my first and only choice for my son's wedding November 16, 2024. Mark and Haley Scomo are truly incredible to deal with from start to finish! Mark and his team catered our wedding a few weeks ago and I am literally still getting messages about the food. People LOVED it. We did buffet style with a beef carving station, Beaumont chicken, green beans, hopping Johns and more. Everything was prepared and displayed beautifully and service was wonderful. The team really did go above and beyond and were worth every penny! Also do not sleep on the flaming donuts, I am not even a dessert person let alone a donut person and these are insanely good and such a fun addition to the wedding. Highly recommend Savannah event catering!!

We had the absolute pleasure of having Chef Mark- Savannah Event Catering and his team cater our wedding, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. From start to finish, they went above and beyond to ensure that every culinary detail was perfect, making our special day even more memorable.
One of the highlights of the evening was the pupusa station. He went and above to create this for us. This delightful touch honored the groom’s Latin heritage and was an absolute hit with our guests. The pupusas were made fresh on-site and were nothing short of spectacular.
The ceviche was another standout. It was fresh, vibrant, and perfectly seasoned, leaving our guests raving about it all night. The brie raspberry cups were a delicious surprise, offering a sweet and savory bite that everyone loved.
Knowing the groom’s love for tacos, Chef Mark created a gourmet taco station that was both elegant and reminiscent of street food flair. It was a perfect blend of sophistication and comfort, and the guests couldn’t get enough.
For the bride’s Indian heritage, the team presented an array of Indian dishes that were authentic, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Our Indian guests felt right at home with these delicious offerings, and it added a wonderful cultural touch to the celebration.
The seafood options were a massive hit as well, with every bite showcasing the freshness and quality of the ingredients. Every station, every dish was crafted with care and attention to detail.
Overall, Chef Mark Savannah Event Catering exceeded our expectations in every way. Their ability to blend different culinary traditions seamlessly and their commitment to quality and service was truly impressive. We couldn’t recommend them more highly. Nothing but 5 stars!

A+ wedding food and service!
Savannah Event Catering came HIGHLY recommended for our wedding and I can certainly see why! They were amazing to work with from start to finish. They were always very responsive by email and made endless tweaks to our menu. When I accidentally miscounted our final guest count, they adjusted and refunded me even though I was a day late in changing the number.
For our tasting, they prepared a vegan meal for us to sample for a few guests who had a high number of dietary restrictions. Despite never preparing something like that before, they did a great job and we really appreciated the extra effort.
They also worked well with us to maximize our budget and to fit the vibe of our reception. We did not have a cocktail hour or seated dinner and really wanted the reception to be a big party full of mingling and dancing. SEC's stations were perfect for this as people were able to grab small portions one at a time and get right back to the dance floor. The food was also very savory and filling so that it soaked up all the drinking people also did during our reception. When in doubt, you can't go wrong with shrimp and grits, beef and risotto, and a pasta station.
Service was incredible and our guests could not stop commenting on how kind and efficient the service staff was. Used plates and napkins never sat longer than a minute at any table. It was really impressive!

We had the best experience using SEC for our wedding in November 2022. Chef Mark is amazing and his team is like no other! They were responsive from the beginning and always so helpful with all of my questions. He was familiar with our venue which was reassuring for me. The tasting he did was wonderful and really helped us narrow down our choices, and even added on some favorites from the tasting. People continue to comment on how awesome the food was at our wedding. We chose buffet style which I was nervous about initially, but it was the way to go!!! Appetizers were also amazing and the service was great the day of the wedding. We ended up adding on the flaming donuts which were a HUGE hit. If I could give 5+ stars, I would. Wow!! Savannah Event Catering is amazing. Right from the initial quote to the final meal everything was perfect for our daughter's wedding. Our tasting was very informative and yummy!!! (Our daughter and son-in-law don't live here) Chef Mark was extremely helpful with the choices. They changed our appetizers on the fly due to the possibility of Hurricane Ian and they were perfect. The SEC staff and service was top notch. They put out all of our chargers for us and the place settings looked amazing. My husband and I were very impressed with the food, tasted exactly like our tasting. We had compliment after compliment that it was the best wedding food that people had ever had. People still are talking about it. Service was upscale!!! We had the pecan crusted salmon, chicken picatta, and a roast beef station. The sides were also very good (asiago Mac and Cheese Yum). The flaming donuts were definitely a hit and a must have--yummy and very entertaining.

Savannah Event Catering was awesome!! I was looking forward to the food on our wedding day the most and I will say SEC did not disappoint! Everything was delicious!! Our guests are still raving about the food. Chef Mark and his team were so easy to work with! We went with 2 passed apps (pork potstickers, bacon wrapped shrimp) and a cheese/fruit display for cocktail hour. The display was massive and a huge hit. The staff was fantastic as well! They brought us apps in between pictures so we could also enjoy them and checked on us several times during dinner service. For dinner we ended up doing a buffet with a craving station. We had several guests go back for seconds and one went back for a third round 😂 We also had the amazing flaming doughnuts! You cannot go wrong with any of the options! We booked Savannah Event Catering prior to even doing a tasting because we heard how fantastic they were - plus the flaming donut bar was a must! Chef Mark and his team were incredible to work with. Our cocktail hour and reception were absolutely seamless with the whole staff - and they made sure we were able to try every piece of food during the night. The best wedding food!
Mark and his team made this a super easy decision for us - we were sold after the tasting! The food was delicious and there were so many options to choose from. So many people have complimented on our menu and how good it all was! The catering stuff was also super friendly which made the reception even better. Highly recommend!

Savannah Event Catering - Hands Down - the BEST
We hit the jackpot with Chef Mark and Savannah Event Catering! Our wedding planner referred us to Chef Mark for our daughter's Savannah wedding in January. We thoroughly enjoyed Chef Mark and his passion for food during the initial tasting.
Our guests commented that this was the best food they had ever had at a wedding, and we wholeheartedly agree. He prepared an unbelievable sushi spread for Happy Hour, which our guests are still talking about!
We highly recommend Chef Mark and his staff for any event you may have coming up. He is fabulous!!

All my guests could talk about
The food was probably one of the biggest highlights of my wedding. After guests congratulated us, the next thing out of their mouth was how great the food was. One big seller for us was that they use real plates and don’t charge extra for it! Will be using for any future events

Chef Mark and the SEC team were amazing from the start! It was very easy to schedule a tasting, and once we arrived everyone was incredibly friendly. Everything we tasted was absolutely delicious!
The food at the wedding tasted just as great as what we tasted. Our guests absolutely raved about the shrimp and grits (seriously one of the best things I’ve ever eaten!). We also did the flaming donut bar, which was a huge hit. One very health conscious family member even ate 5 donuts! So not only did it look cool and unique, but it was also delicious!
I can’t recommend SEC enough!

Absolutely Delightful!
Savannah Event Catering and Chef Mark were an absolute pleasure to work with for our special day on March 12, 2022. Savannah Event Catering has a huge range of options for food, as well as serving options. Chef Mark and his office staff made the entire process so easy when it came to our decisions as well as our tasting. Guests ranted and raved about our food all night long! Very professional and had absolutely no issues. Would recommend this vendor for any and all events!

Awesome Catering!
Savannah Event Catering (SEC) was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. Chef Mark and team were responsive and so helpful in planning the best menu for our guests. The tasting was fun (and filling), Chef Mark suggested items we wouldn’t have originally chosen, but ended up having on the menu. Julia, office administrator for SEC, is awesome! She was so helpful and patient with questions and rescheduling when Covid changed our plans, and throughout the entire process. SEC brought their A game and provided quality food, but also sent a staff who treated our guests with such courtesy and professionalism – the servers received many compliments from our friends and family. Don’t miss out on the best Shrimp and Grits (and I don’t even like grits)! SEC -10 stars.

Beyond exceptional!
Mark, Julia, and their team at Savannah Event Catering are out of this world fantastic!! If I could give them 20 stars I absolutely would. From the moment I first contacted them, it was easy and smooth right up to our wedding day. They were fantastic in staying within our budget; but having a variety of dishes to serve. The Best Ever - Transformed my wedding into an Experience
Savannah event catering was perfect for my special day in July 2021. They were recommended by my planner and the tasting was phenomenal. Due to the pandemic however, we ended up having to postpone our 2020 wedding and with that change we switched venues. As the final preparation for our big day was finally approaching, our planner was coordinating with our vendors for finalizations and Chef Mark recognized one change we forgot to implement. We were originally doing stations, but our new venue had a space in the back for food, which was better suited for buffet style. Chef Mark, noticing the change in the final days leading up, quickly drafted a new menu to accommodate a more structured and swift dinner hour. We ended up having a call with my planner and Chef Mark to create the perfect revised menu for a well-structured and smooth dinner hour. The highlight of the wedding were the flaming donuts served for dessert, that our guests continue to rave about. Our late night snack of grilled cheese was also a fan favorite at our wedding. Although we missed out on this treat, I have been told by a guest “ I will never look at grilled cheese the same. Life changing”. Thank you Savannah Event Catering for making my day extra special and eventful with the wonderful food. Highly recommend.

SEC is truly remarkable!!! Chef Mark and his team are amazing! The communication between SEC, my self and my husband was spot on! They provided everything we asked for and delivered on a line around the room experience with their flaming donut station!!!!! Folks were getting antsy because a great dance song would come on and they didn’t want to get out of the donut line, they didn’t know what to do!!!!! The shrimp and grits were spectacular!!! The Charcuterie and antipasto display was muaaah!!! The buffet and carving stations were dance in your seat delicious. We are truly grateful for the support and wonderful food SEC provide for our wedding. Definitely recommend!

I don’t even know where to start, but let’s just say, book them & you won’t regret it. Our wedding was moved due to COVID & they were very responsible & flexible about the matter. All our guests raved about the food during & after the wedding—they still are!! The steak medallions in mushroom was to die for. Small Wedding Reception
Savannah catering did an amazing job with our wedding reception. The food was amazingly delicious and the service was spot on. The whole experience, from the tasting to cutting and serving our cake and boxing up leftovers, was very professional. We will be using them again for any catering needs.

All our guests could not stop raving about the food!
Chef Mark was wonderful to work with. SEC hands down has the BEST food around! From the appetizers, to the plated dinner, to the flaming donut bar - there wasn’t any food left over!! Chef Mark personally came to find my husband and I while taking photos to make sure we got a plate of the appetizers. We were also served our meals first so we could eat before making our rounds to guests. Schedule a tasting with SEC right away to taste their delicious menu and get your hands on one of their donuts!

It doesn't get better than this!
Can we say it was love at first taste? Seriously, we might’ve had the best food tasting experience with Mark. Had we known it was going to be a “insert course number” meal, we would’ve skipped dinner the night before. We submitted our tasting request to Mark, and it was all delicious. He even cooked items we hadn’t selected so we could try it. Everything was delicious and it was extremely difficult to narrow down our selection. Fast forward to wedding day and my oh my was the food delicious. The appetizers were loved by our guest, the dinner was loved by our guest, and the flaming hot donuts were devoured by our guest. Let’s take a step back to the dinner. We opted to have a buffet to serve our Dominican-American menu. The pernil (roasted pork) with lime mojo sauce was and still is the talk of the wedding. We’ve had friends and family tell us about how many plates of pork and plantains they ate on wedding night and their attempts to make a copy cat recipe of the lime mojo sauce. It was that good. The pernil was a special request, and Mark absolutely cooked it to perfection. One thing you want to have is good food and Mark and his chefs at Savannah Event Catering made sure our guest loved their meal. And to finish off the night, we opted for the coke and bourbon glazed flaming donuts. They tasted like it sounds, divine. We highly recommend you add these treats. The presentation is cool too because they cook them in front of your guest and light the pan on fire. The only bad thing was the lack of leftovers for us the next day, but we have to blame that on our guest for making 3 trips to the buffet line!!! Oh and let us not forget to mention how AFFORDABLE everything was. We are so grateful for Mark working with our budget and still making our requests possible!

People Are Still Talking
Chef Mark and his crew simply provided the best options. Chef Mark was the only chef my daughter and her fiance with whom they had a tasting and it was a one and done. Wedding guests are still talking about the food. The beef and mushroom risotto was a huge hit! There were no leftovers.

Savannah Event Catering is top notch. All of my guests were raving about the food. I was particularly excited about the food for our wedding after our tasting. Be warned though, after your tasting you will have a hard time deciding on which goodies, you’ll want your guests eating on the big day. We had a carving station, shrimp and grits, several delicious appetizers and Flaming Donuts! All of our food was a hit! I highly recommend Chef Mark and his team.

We used Savannah Event Catering for our wedding in August 2020. They were perfect from the beginning!! We had to change our wedding date because of Covid which meant we had to switch catering vendors, and they were available. They tried to help us out as much as possible with pricing due to having to switch. Their food tasting is also AMAZINGGGG! You will not regret choosing them as your caterer!

September Wedding
We had the best experience with Savanah Event Catering! I spoke to Chef Mark on the phone and gave him a little background on myself and my husband. After our talk he was able to put together the perfect menu to incorporate both backgrounds. We were able to do a tasting of our menu and we were beyond impressed. This is not typical “wedding food.” It was delicious and so much flavor. Our guests loved the food and went back for seconds and thirds. I highly recommend them to do any event!

Y’all, this was the best decision we ever made to use Savannah Event Catering! From start to finish, the communication was always on point. The food was delicious. Our guests raved about our appetizers - Hawiaiian Pineapple Chicken Bacon bites & goat cheese and artichoke turnovers were sure a hit. Blackened chicken, green beans, fresh veggies, mac n cheese were definitely on point. Everything was perfect!

Savannah Event Catering’s food is amazing! Mark is a very talented chef! We did a taste testing more than a year before our wedding and fell in love with Mark’s food. Mark is an amazingly talented chef who loves what he does, and you can tell by how amazing his food tastes!! All of our guests made a point to compliment the food. My husband and I are huge foodies so we wanted something other than traditional catering for our wedding and they absolutely delivered. By far, they make the best shrimp and grits I’ve ever had and my husband chose to have the flaming donut station instead of a grooms cake and it was a huge hit! Would definitely recommend!

Incredible Options , Flawless Execution
I absolutely LOVED my experience with Savannah Event Catering. Mark was so nice and fun to bounce ideas off of, he really helped us create a menu that felt completely authentic to me and my husband's tastes. We got tons of compliments throughout the night on the food, my favorite of which was: "This food! Did someone's grandma make this?!" The staff was so friendly and easy to work with, the whole team really made my night such a breeze! My only regret was that I didn't eat more!

Delicious! I still crave our wedding food regularly!
We went for a tasting a few months prior to our wedding and were blown away. First of all, the tasting was completely free which wasn’t the case with some of the other vendors we tried. He made quite an assortment of food for us to try and we were blown away by every dish and left the tasting completely stuffed. We decided on a buffet and mark helped us create and customize our menu. He made the process so easy! On the day of our wedding, we got so many compliments on our food. This was a major win because we chose a lot of Cuban dishes and half of our guest list were Cuban and living in Miami where the food is authentic and delicious. Mark actually worked at a restaurant in south Florida, so he knew exactly what he was doing!

Savannah Event Catering is the best option to choose for your wedding! The taste testing was amazing, they gave us so many options to choose from so we were allowed to choose from several different options rather than having a menu created and solely going off that. It really stood out to me that they were able to give us so many options. They truly wanted to create a menu based on our wants and traditions! I come from a Hispanic background so they were able to incorporate different things into the menu like plantains, Jamaica, and ceviche. We were even able to create a special late night snack surprise for the Groom, which he absolutely loved. Everyone at the wedding said that the food was awesome and the best they’ve ever had at a wedding. I highly recommend the flaming donut bar for anyone who wants to go with a different style of dessert! I’m also super appreciative of how well the team worked together and made sure every guest was happy. I remember briefly mentioning to one of my friends that I wanted to try one of the appetizers and within seconds someone with the tray came up to me to give me one! They were all so attentive and helpful. Thank you to Savannah Event Catering for making my wedding special.

Mark, Mandy and the entire Savannah Events Catering is so professional and really worked so hard to contribute to my dream wedding. From the very first complimentary tasting-our minds were blown away by the food. Mark & team were so friendly, warm and welcoming. The food was out-of-sight and I was excited for them to cater my wedding for 160 people. Mandy was great communicating between email with my mom & I. Their pricing is extremely fair and even better because their food was so delicious. One thing I very clearly remember is when the groom and I were taking pictures after the ceremony..everyone was having hors d’oeuvres at cocktail hour. One of the servers saw us and left us with an entire tray of the food she was passing out. Everyone says the bride & groom never get to eat the food at their wedding but this server went above & beyond to make sure James & I got to eat. The food & layout at the wedding was perfect, the amount of servers passing food was excellent and the clean up process was quick and seemed very easy. Mark & Team even added complimentary hot apple cider per my request! I cannot say enough good things about Savannah Events Catering and if all of this isn’t enough, they packed up all of the leftovers and James & I are still eating our wedding food a week later!! I love this company and will recommend to everyone I know getting married in Savannah. Thank you, Mark & the Savannah Events Catering Team!

Savannah Event Catering was excellent, the tasting we attended before making our selection was great and I highly recommend taking the time to do this. Mark prepared a large array of appetizers and main dishes. Mark helped us put together a menu that satisfied everyone. We did a buffet with the slider station. The food was wonderful, quality and quantity was perfect. If you are looking for an alternative to a traditional wedding cake (we had a small one for the cake cutting) the flaming donuts were a huge hit. Not only was it a great presentation they were absolutely delicious.

We were absolutely thrilled with Mark and his team! Our guests talked about how great the food was for the rest of the entire reception and weekend. This place is awesome! They have great prices and great food! Our guests raved about how great the food was. Savannah Event Catering was great to work with, very responsive, offered suggestions when we werent sure what we wanted, made any amendments we asked them to make. All around great! We used Savannah Event Catering for annual Porsche club dinners, and we decided to use them for all of our dinners. They provided the best service, best food, and a diverse menu for a great value. Our drivers all raved over the catering that was so much better than any other catered dinners from other vendors. We thank them so much and will spread the word to the other car clubs.

Mark was recommended to us by so many people and I now understand why. His food is spectacularly delicious! The most difficult part was trying to decide which amazing food we wanted at our wedding because we wanted it all!!! The flaming donuts were so fun and unique and I honestly cant say anything bad about them. All the servers were so nice and easy to work with as well. Mark is so easy going and down to earth, he made me feel so comfortable about everything. Most definitely recommended!

We made a great decision by choosing Savannah Event Catering for the wedding. Then, we made a poor decision by trying to find a different rehearsal dinner caterer / venue. Then, we made a really awesome decision to select them for the rehearsal dinner as well!
For the rehearsal dinner, they brought what was quite possibly the best low country boil we've ever had - the staff that came to support the event was courteous, friendly, quick to help in whatever way possible, and made the event even more amazing than we thought it could have been!
For the wedding, I don't even know where to start! The appetizers were a hit (we took the Brie/Raspberry phyllo cup recipe and scored some points recently with a dinner), and the stations were each really amazing - can't go wrong with shrimp and grits; also can't go wrong with Chicken and Waffles!
And to wrap everything up, regardless if you get a groom's cake, you have to get the flaming doughnut bar - it was a spectacle to see and was one of the best things we had at the wedding!

Mark is great! He is very professional, and has many ideas to make your event great. For example, we had BBQ at our wedding and made the suggestion of serving chicken for our appetizers for our guests who may not like pork. It seems like a no-brainer, but as a stressed out bride, it was a wonderful suggestion! The food was wonderful, and the set up was beautiful. Thank you again for making our day great!

Savannah Event Catering provided food and service to our family for a reunion for two separate events and the food was excellent - very tasty and there was ample selections to choose from, the service was professional and the staff was personable. Mark and Haley are SOOO great! From start to finish these guys were amazing to work with. Haley revised my quote I think a hundred times to fit perfectly with the food I wanted and to fit my budget needs! I also was planning my wedding from Virginia where I live and they made me feel so comfortable with working with them from so far away. I came into town a few weeks before the big day and Mark made a feast for our tasting! Every single thing was so delicious and had such good flavor. I am a health and fitness coach and a HUGE foodie - he was able to perfectly tailor the menu to what we wanted. Everyone was so impressed with the food and we couldn't have been any happier with our catering selection!!!!! The food was perfect. The staff were perfect. Everything- was perfect!! We did multiple taste testings and after a short time established our dream menu. We come from a family of "foodies" and wanted a caterer who could impress our families. Savannah Event Catering pulled it off!!! Everyone enjoyed the food and service. You will not be disappointed!!! When searching for a caterer online, I was immediately drawn to Mark's menu. Being from south Louisiana, it was difficult to find a caterer that was just right for our needs, but Mark made it easy! The tasting we scheduled left us craving more of his divine food. We couldn't have been more pleased with the excellent, professional service and the delicious, gorgeously displayed food. Mark and his crew were so personal and professional.
When we went in for our tasking Mark when above and beyond providing everything and was very open and up front with us about cost. They also worked with us and making sure we got everything we wanted and more. I actually forgot about one detail I told them in our first meeting and the day of the wedding they remembered and did it for me. I totally forgot until I saw it and could not believe they did it!
They are fast to respond to emails and any questions I had. They were so helpful.
What a blessing, I would have them cater more events in the future.

Mark is the best! He and Hayley helped us come up with a great menu for our wedding, and it turned out phenomenal! Not only is his food incredible, his presentation is beautiful and better than any I've ever seen (which is important when choosing a caterer for a wedding). We did a "southern" menu with his pulled pork sliders and shrimp and grits stations, and our guests loved it! It has been a few weeks since our wedding, and we still have people raving to us about how great the food was. I've also enjoyed his catering at several other events, and it's been consistently great every single time. Price is right, portions are substantial, and Mark is so easy to work with. You will not be disappointed!

We only had a month to plan our wedding in June and Mark went out of his way to not only make sure we had plenty of food, but also go and time to take care of all the set up and clean up. Most importantly the food was delicious!!! Weddings come with lots of stress, but the food and catering were 2 things I didn't have to think twice about. He gave us a menu to pick from, we picked everything out, and the company did better than we expected and were super happy with the turn out. And if to pick butter beans you have two choices between country style and dill, you should definitely choose the dill. They were amazing!

Everything was great! All the guests loved the food and everything was set up nicely. The shrimp and grits bar was a big hit, many people who don't eat fish tried it and loved it. My cousin admitted he went back at least 4 times for the shrimp and grits. It was the one thing that did go smoothly at my wedding and the staff was really friendly!

Mark, Haley, and their staff provided catering services for our wedding in October.
They were very responsive during the entire process. They returned emails and phone calls promptly. They worked with us to create a good menu and stay within a budget. Savannah Event catering arrived to the venue on time and did a wonderful job with their service, set up and take down. The food was tasty and we got many compliments from guests.
Overall we had a fantastic experience with them.
