Phenomenal Wedding!
Wow! We had an absolutely incredible experience hosting our wedding at the Marriott. From start to finish, everything exceeded our expectations. Joanne, our point of contact, was phenomenal—hands-on, prompt, flexible, and incredibly knowledgeable. She made us feel completely confident and supported throughout the entire planning process, and her presence was a true gift on the big day.
The food was absolutely amazing—our guests are still raving about it! The chef even came out to personally check in with us to make sure we were happy, which was such a thoughtful and appreciated gesture. The level of customer service was exceptional across the board.
The entire staff went above and beyond to make our weekend special, and we’re so grateful for their hospitality and attention to detail. We hosted a full weekend of events, including a welcome gathering on Friday, our ceremony and reception on Saturday, and a farewell breakfast on Sunday—with 175 guests flying in from all over—and everything ran seamlessly.
I highly recommend the Marriott as a wedding venue. If you're managing a hotel room block, be sure to stay in close communication with the Marriott team—booking logistics can get a little complicated (not the staff’s fault!), but with clear coordination, it all works out.

Amazing venue and staff for a wedding.
We worked with AnneMarie and other members of her staff at Sanibel Harbour Marriott Resort and Spa for my daughter's June 2025 wedding. It exceeded expectations. 10 out of 10 for everything. AnneMarie was responsive and worked within our budget to have the most elegant and stress-free wedding experience. The venue is amazing. Our guests had a vacation experience while staying. The room rate was fantastic and the service and food at the resort is wonderful. We never left the resort for our 4 day stay. My wife and I are writing to express our sincere gratitude for the outstanding wedding celebration you hosted for us on Saturday, May 24th. Everything about the day exceeded our expectations, and we are still overjoyed with how smoothly and beautifully everything unfolded.
The service we received from every member of your staff was truly amazing. From the initial setup to the final moments of the reception, we were so impressed by the attentiveness and professionalism shown throughout the event. Our guests also commented on how well they were looked after, which meant a great deal to us.

Can’t recommend enough!!
I can’t say enough good things about Anne Marie and everyone at the Sanibel Harbour Marriott. They were informative, communicative and most importantly supportive through the entire wedding planning process even before we signed a contract. Our guests had nothing but incredible things to say about their rooms and stay in general. The staff were all so welcoming and personable. Every time you entered a room, we were welcomed by a staff member who remembered our names and were all so excited for our wedding. They went above and beyond to make us feel special.
Anne Marie has it figured out. She’s been there for 22 years and has it down to a science. She ran our welcome party and made it look beautiful and seamless. She also coordinated effortlessly with our wedding planner the day of our wedding and pays attention to small details. On the morning of the wedding, she noticed I was cold and brought us all robes and blankets to keep us warm. She is truly a gem!
Service was quick and the food was excellent. We got endless compliments on how good the food was and they were so impressed with the quality when we had 161 guests.
I can’t recommend Sanibel Harbour enough.

Golden 50th Anniversary Celebration
We celebrated or parents Golden 50th Anniversary at the Sanibel Harbour Marriott Resort and Spa in March. The Island Veranda and Ballroom was absolutely beautiful, perfect for their special occasion. Joanne and her staff were amazing from the initial contact thru the completion of the event. We can’t thank them enough for their attention to detail. The cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and the main course were absolutely delicious! Best Wedding of the Year!
Our Wedding was absolutely perfect! Our guests stayed at the resort for 3 days and wouldn’t stop talking about how much fun they had and how it was the best wedding they have ever been to! The resort itself was beautiful inside and out, the pool was the main hub for socializing each day, the service was excellent, and the wedding and ceremony were outstanding! Not a problem or glitch at all. Everyone had a fabulous time! Anne Marie who is the Wedding Coordinator at the resort was Amazing! She and her team made sure everyone was taken care of and that there were no issues. I highly recommend you booking your events here or just staying for a weekend as it was perfect! -

The Venue Of My Dreams with the Best Staff
Our wedding at Sanibel Harbour Marriott was amazing. After the hurricane, we moved our wedding there - and I honestly think it was fate! Anne Marie was an amazing asset to our team, the rooms were perfect, and each venue space we used was perfection. We loved having our ceremony out on the Palms Pool Deck, with the sun setting behind us. The food was exceptional. The service was beyond compare! We had our own personal server assigned to us at every event who ensured we had whatever we needed. The venue worked with us on everything, and our guests loved their stay as well. They went to great lengths to ensure us the best weekend ever. I can't wait to go back someday so celebrate an anniversary!-

Best wedding ever!
Doug Baker was amazing to work with. All of guests loved the venue and all want to go back again soon! The view is incredible, the food was amazing, the staff was great, rooms were clean, bartenders were awesome. This venue was magical. I can’t imagine having my wedding anywhere else. Spa was awesome , Chabeli and Corzi were great!
Minor Constructive criticism: room block was difficult. We sold over 120 rooms and it was hard to contact the room block people and there were several issues with that so be on top of that. rooms were a bit hot, a/c could have been turned up as many guests were hot in both ceremony room and reception room. Our cake was thrown out without some guests getting to eat (many were outside on balcony and didn’t get the chance to notice and were quickly taken away), our lights were not turned off for dancing and it took me longer than it should have to find her. All minor things but overall an incredible experience. If you are booking here, you have to work with Doug Baker! He’s the best.-

Amazing Wedding Experience!
We selected the Sanibel Harbour Marriott Resort & Spa for our April 30th Wedding. We had our ceremony and reception at the resort and all I can say is WOW, it was AMAZING! We were lucky enough to work with the wonderful Anne Marie. From when we initially looked at the venue over a year ago, up until the wedding weekend, she was simply the BEST! We live in Ohio, so doing a destination wedding can sometimes be a little stressful, however, I didn't feel stressed at all working with Anne Marie! We stayed in contact throughout the last year, and as we approached the big day, we were emailing almost daily. She was super quick to respond to any questions I had, and always had a solution. When the wedding day came, she took charge of everything. I got to enjoy the salon with my bridesmaids without worrying about a thing. She managed all of our vendors (DJ, Florist, Bakery, Reverend) along with the entire Marriott staff and we didn't have to do a thing other than enjoy our day. I cannot say enough great things about her, and honestly wish we could do the weekend all over again! I would highly recommend and encourage anyone looking to get married around the Sanibel or Ft Myers area to look at the Sanibel Harbour Marriott Resort and use Anne Marie as your coordinator. We loved everything about the venue and her team! She made our day PERFECT! Also, my husband Adam had to throw in that all of the valet guys were incredible with cars and getting luggage to the rooms. He said never overlook the valet guys. Best day Ever!!
First off, my husband and I would like to thank everyone for giving us such a beautiful, relaxing wedding day. We could not have gone through this experience if it wasn’t for Anne Marie. She was not only our third wedding coordinator since our whole process started with picking Sanibel Harbour Resort but she was our biggest blessing to make our dream day come true. She was extremely informative every time we spoke to her, positive,funny, outgoing personality but extremely smart and knew what exactly we wanted and what would be best! Memorial Day Weekend Wedding
We had our wedding reception at Marriott Sanibel on Memorial Weekend. This was just the perfect location for a quick destination wedding.
It was all about accommodation for us. We used the bridal room at the spa.
I have to give it to the team over there, they were on time and made all my bridesmaids feel comfortable. We had such a great time getting ready. My stylist, Bree'Ann did such a great job getting me ready. She truly made me feel like a princess. All the spa ladies, really, were on point with hair and makeup.
The bridal package also came with sandwiches, mimosas and coffee. It was great!
Leia, the catering coordinator, did an outstanding job during our whole planning process. She really made it easy for us!
Leia was with us the day of, along with her assistant, Kelly. They actually gave my husband some company right before our first look at the beach location at the resort, which Leia reserved specifically for us for our photos. (My husband was very anxious and it was great having them there)
After our reception, we walked up to our hotel room and Leia had provided us with food and drinks and even a bottle of champagne. THIS WAS THE BEST since the bride and groom were hungry following the reception.
The rest of the party continued celebrating downstairs at Charley's Cabana Bar. The workers there greeted us with open arms even though it was already after 11 pm!
I also want to give the valet team a shoutout for all of their help. This was a busy weekend and they really stayed on top of the bridal party and transportation during our wedding day.

My husband and I got married at the Sanibel Harbor Resort on December 19th,2020. The staff was absolutely amazing specially Doug our wedding coordinator, he made the process so easy and smoothly, I have no words to thank all of you for making my dream come true, my wedding was spectacular, the food, the venue, the waitresses, the bar everything was perfect. Absolutely perfect!!
The Sanibel Harbour Marriott was absolutely gorgeous and the perfect place to hold our destination wedding! We were married 10-10-20 and had just under 40 guests in attendance. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, we worked directly with Leia, the Director of Catering, and Anne Marie, the General Manager. Both Leia and Anne Marie went above and beyond to address our every need and request. My in-laws unexpectedly were unable to attend the wedding because of COVID-19, and Anne Marie made sure to be available and FaceTimed my husband's parents before and during the ceremony, so that they were able to witness it live. My husband is also very into bourbon, Leia and Anne Marie made sure his favorite bourbon was served at our reception and even set up an infuser, that infused citrus flavors with his favorite bourbon. Throughout the planning process, Leia was very responsive to emails and made me feel like no question was too outlandish or crazy. With the COVID-19 pandemic, the hotel had strict cleaning procedures in place and required guests to wear masks while in public spaces. Our guests or ourselves never once felt unsafe during our stay at the hotel. We weren't able to fly down to taste and select our food beforehand, but the reception meal turned out to be absolutely delicious! We heard from several guests since, who have also raved about the meal. A champagne toast and cake provided by local bakery, LadyCakes, were also included in our reception package.
We worked with Marisa on our room reservation/room block. Some of our guests called the hotel directly due to issues with booking online, they were very complimentary of the reservations staff in booking their rooms. Some of our guests also booked after the room block deadline, but Marisa worked to make sure those rooms were counted towards our contracted number of rooms. Marisa and her staff also worked to hand out gift bags to our guests that we brought with us.
The hotel sits on 80+ acres; it gives the feel that you're on a resort in Mexico or the Dominican Republic, without leaving the United States. The beach we were married on sits on the far side of the property, allowing for privacy away from other hotel guests. We still ended up having some guests stop by to watch our nuptials, however, they were far enough away that it didn't feel like we had uninvited guests. Many restaurants and shops are about 10-20 minutes away, but that was what we were looking for in a venue, we didn't want a crowded location filled with traffic noise.
The Sanibel Harbour Marriott is the perfect venue if you're looking for a quiet beach wedding venue with gorgeous sunsets! The entire hotel staff go above and beyond to meet your needs. We definitely look forward to coming back to celebrate our anniversary!-

Great experience working with Sanibel Harbor Resort and their wedding coordinator
We had a great experience working with the resort to put rooms on hold and also working with their wedding coordinator. He was extremely helpful, friendly and accommodating to any changes we needed to make. The room was absolutely beautiful and we had a gorgeous sunset that came in through the window that was right behind our sweetheart table. All the guests commented after the wedding about how beautiful everything was. I was actually surprised how smoothly everything went all evening. It was even a great experience working with outside vendors, such as, the florist, photographer and DJ. -

Absolutely Amazing
I did a destination wedding on October 19 at Sanibel Harbour Marriott and I cannot say enough good things about the experience. I live in Michigan so I expected planning a destination wedding would be difficult but from day one the entire staff was incredible. Leia worked with me to plan what we needed and do room blocks for guests. Anything we needed we just made a call or sent an email and they got it done right away. When we arrived for the wedding every single staff member we encountered was so kind and accommodating. The morning of my wedding there was a tropical storm so they worked with me on exactly what I wanted for a backup plan if needed. Luckily the storm passed and I got to have my beach wedding, it was just very windy and they made sure everything was in place. The food, drinks and staff at the reception and the work and coordination by Leia and her staff were phenomenal. I got so many compliments on the food, some of the best food I have ever had. The wedding day could not have run more smoothly or been more perfect. Sanibel Harbour Marriott went above and beyond and exceeded my expectaions on all levels. -

Incredible Experience!
I had my wedding at Sanibel Harbour Marriott this weekend and am BEYOND pleased with how it turned out. Anne Marie made sure our entire event, start to finish, was seamless and perfect. The food and service was also incredible! I would highly recommend this venue for anyone looking for an amazing wedding experience. -

A Perfect Beach Wedding
My wedding was more fabulous than I could have ever imagined and it was all because of Leia and this fabulous venue. The beach was perfect. The staff was amazing. We have a guest who attended that works at a high end golf course and he was blown away by the staff and the food quality. Everyone kept raving about the food. We had such a great time. What was even better is our guests who traveled really enjoyed the hotel as a vacation of their own and from the restaurants to the pool the staff and cleanliness was great. Beautiful Venue for Intimate Family Wedding
The Sanibel Harbour Marriott Resort was the perfect venue for our small family and friends wedding. We all were able stay at the resort, have the wedding on Cove Beach on the waters edge, followed with a magnificent dinner reception (with a custom Boston Cream Cake) at the private dining room at the Courtside Steakhouse coordinated by Ken Newbold- also part of the hotel. The sales/catering team led by Leia Sobieralski was superb as they attended to everything we asked for. They even brought in more sand as a recent storm had washed some away - so it looked perfect and we had great weather too for a holiday gathering. I cannot say enough about the staff, the Spa, the nail, hair and makeup stylists too, as everyone participated in making this the best wedding and now a wonderful memory. -

Absolutely Perfect!!! The best experience we have ever had!!
I don’t think i could ever explain how PERFECT Sanibel Harbour was to and for us for our wedding last month!!! They exceeded EVERY expectation we had in every area. They are professional, yet kind, and willing to do WHATEVER necessary to ensure your wedding day & weekend is perfect for you. I felt like they were all family! They handled our huge, crazy destination wedding party (total of 80 people) with grace and patience!
Leia... Leia is a life saver. She was our event coordinator. She is amazing at what she does. She made my day as smooth and perfect as i could have ever imagined. She will do anything for you... even if it isn’t wedding related because that’s her personality!
I could honestly go on for days about how amazing Sanibel Harbour Marriott was to ya and our guests. DO NOT LOOK ANY FURTHER!!! THIS is your place. THIS is your venue. I promise you won’t regret it 😊-

Beach Wedding
I am so glad we had our wedding here! The venue is gorgeous, the staff was amazing, and the food was perfect! Also, the hotel coordinator (Kaitlyn Johnson) was phenomenal- she went above and beyond to ensure we had the perfect day. I would do it all over again in a heartbeat! -

Wow! Totally amazing.
I can’t get over how perfect our day was. This would not have been possible without the help of Leia Sobieralski and the Marriott team. From the moment we walked into the resort we fell in love. The large open windows and the island banquet room were exactly what we were looking for. We loved the privacy of the cove beach and it was stunningly beautiful and intimate. We had our rehearsal dinner on the Princess Cruise as well and it was the perfect setting for us and our guests. The yacht made it feel extra special for us and our guests too. Everyone loved the food on the cruise and during our reception. Also, we are a same-sex couple and we felt nothing but welcomed during the entire process here. Our guests have shared nothing but good memories and everyone had a blast! We ended up dancing for an extra hour because none of us wanted the day to end. If I could live a day over and over again it would be our Wedding day because of how amazing everything was here.-

We want to thank Sanibel Harbor Marriott for making out of our wedding the most special day ever. Every single detail from the food to costumer service were beyond incredible. From day one, Courtney Kraft made us feel welcome and made the planning process stress free.
The Island Room where we had our reception had the most amazing sunset views ever. Everything was clean and organized. We also hosted cocktail hour at the Veranda and we only had but great comments from our guests on the great drinks and delicious hors d'oeuvres.
Thank you again Marriott for going the extra mile on making our day magical. We will definitely come back for future events and weekend getaways!

These guys are AWESOME!!! They were SO accommodating! Kaitlyn was our event coordinator and I truly cannot say enough about her!! Her response time was never longer than 2 days, honestly there were Sunday evenings that I received emails from her! We were treated like royalty from the moment we stepped onto the resort. No request went unanswered. They upgraded us to the Presidential suite which is massive. We entertained about 25 people in there the night before our wedding. Marisa, the reservation manager was really great with giving us weekly updates on who had booked their rooms. We held our rehearsal dinner at the Tarpon House onsite and the service and the food were outstanding! There is also an onsite Spa and Salon and they were AMAZING!!! My friends and family were WOW'ed by the AWESOME make-up that Lindsey gave me and the AMAZING hair that Brianne styled for me.
The only thing I would suggest is to choose a dish other than the pork loin because it was very dry. The hors d oeuvres were really great though! It says a lot for Kaitlyn, Lindsey, and Brianne that even with a fairly disappointing main dish that I am still giving this venue 5/5 stars. You cannot go wrong with them. We can't wait to renew our vows and do it all over again! :-)

The Sanibel Harbour Marriott is a perfect spot to bring your Wedding to! My wife and I, including each of our guests had a blast! Perfect Views! Beautiful ballrooms! Hosted our rehearsal dinner on the Princess Yacht, which made it extra special for our mostly out of state guestlist that doesn't get to enjoy the open water very often. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a wedding venue.
Courtney was amazing to work with and made the process entirely stress free. She has a great staff around her and we did not have to worry about anything. She is Top Notch and will make your wedding extra special!!! -

Every Marriott employee that we met, was very gracious, friendly, professional, accommodating, and efficient. After our sunset wedding ceremony on the beach, we had our reception on the Sanibel Harbour Princess Yacht. Everything was amazing. Cannot rave enough about the service, staff, decor, and food. From the moment we walked through the front door I fell in love with the resort. The setting is perfect for a beach wedding. Once I met with Courtney the wedding coordinator I knew it was the place for us. Our ceremony was on the beach and our reception in the Island Ballroom. I could not be more happy with the experience. I wish we could do it all over again! Our guests enjoyed every detail including the meals at the reception and welcome dinner. Thank you so much Courtney and the whole staff! My husband and I cannot say enough fabulous things about our wedding at the Sanibel Harbour Marriott last weekend! Our weekend affair was top notch from beginning to end. Courtney Kraft was amazing at helping us through the entire planning process (which took about 5 months) and the wedding weekend. We used the pool terrace Friday night for a private party with guests including a bar and appetizers. Our wedding Saturday took place at the Cove Beach, followed by cocktail hour on the Island Room Veranda, followed by our reception in the Island Room. Sunday we sent our guests home full from brunch held in a private room off the Tarpon House restaurant. Our guests couldn't stop commenting how beautiful the venue was, how great and friendly the staff, and how smoothly the entire weekend flowed by.
I would highly recommend this venue for a wedding or party. My husband and I were treated like royalty! We can't wait to go back to celebrate our first anniversary. -

Courtney and everyone at Sanibel Harbour was amazing! We chose Sanibel Harbour based on photos and reviews having never been to the area and wanting to do a beach wedding. Planning a wedding from across the country seemed like a daunting task, yet they made it a breeze.
The goal for our wedding was to bring our families together not only to celebrate but also for a vacation. Sanibel delivered on both fronts!! From the valets to the pool staff and up to the managers, we were all treated well and felt taken care of.
On Thursday, Courtney helped us plan a cocktail and tapas pre-wedding reception at Charlie's Cabana. The food and service were exceptional.
The day of the wedding we held a brunch for all of our guests at Tarpon House. Our guests could not stop raving about the large breakfast buffet, amazing omelettes, and attentive service.
Our ceremony was held at Cove Beach. Courtney had everything planned and ready. Not one of our family members or guests had to do a thing or ask for a thing. She took care of everything! She made it so easy to focus on what truly mattered that day.
Our reception was a dinner at Courtside Steakhouse. Again, the service and food exceeded our expectations. Many guests commented that it was the best dining out experience they've ever had.
It was so refreshing to have Sanibel exceed our dreams in every way possible. We can't thank Courtney and the Sanibel staff enough for making it all possible! We highly recommend Sanibel for your wedding. -

We got married here on August 5, 2016. It couldn't have been more perfect. From start to finish, Courtney made every dream come true. We live in Indiana, so planning a destination wedding was stressful, but Courtney made it very easy. Major props to her and her team!
We used the Cove Beach for our ceremony and the Island Room for our reception. Everything was absolutely beautiful and exactly the way I had envisioned it. My guests couldn't stop talking about the resort and the wedding venue. Reception food was outstanding and the service was impeccable. I literally could not have asked for a more perfect day.
I HIGHLY recommend Courtney and her team at the Sanibel Harbour Marriott to anyone who is considering getting married in SW Florida. She made planning a wedding from 1600 miles away a breeze!

Courtney Kraft was a delight to work with and made me feel comfortable throughout the whole process! Our guests had a blast at our wedding weekend and no complaints were heard. My now husband and I got married at the beach area off the pool at sunset and it was picture perfect. Reception in Gardens ballroom and everything was perfect! This resort allows you to have a "beach wedding" without the cost of those resorts who are actually on the beach. I highly recommend the venue! -

She went above and beyond to make our special day special, as well as checking in on us, coordinating with other vendors, she took ALOT of pressure off of me. I can not begin to tell you how wonderful she is. The food was wonderful and the wait staff was quick and responsive as well as very funny! Every guest told us that as soon as they walked into the resort, their mouths dropped because of the view straight through. This was what we initially fell in love with. As soon as I was facetimed in by my Matron of Honor to do a walk through of the resort, I knew nothing else would top it! From the staff (Courtney Kraft, Lauren, Stefanie Little - she was there when we started our planning, and Nick at the front desk) to the scenery to the incredible rooms and Cove Beach, our wedding was everything we dreamed and so much more and well within our budget!! -

There is no other place I would have rather had my wedding. Whether you live here in Southwest Florida or if you are planning a destination wedding I highly recommend Sanibel Harbour Marriott. I worked with Stefanie and Courtney planning my wedding and both women are amazing. Especially in the days leading up to the wedding and on the day of the wedding Courtney was so attentive and kept me stress free. She even took the time to get to know my family and friends traveling from out of town...making sure all they enjoyed their stay at the resort. -

The staff at Sanibel Harbour executed our daughter's wedding flawlessly. The factors in our choice included all newly renovated spaces; a beautiful sunset view ceremony site; reasonable pricing for the best value; and most important, a professional staff that exhibited the best customer service we have ever experienced.
Over the months of planning, the answer to every request was positive and routinely creative. The wedding budget, which we came to call the "pesky budget", kept the costs under control without losing any of the important features of the event, mostly because Stefanie was able to advise us on better ways to achieve our vision.
During our 3-day stay at Sanibel Harbour we felt that each of our events received top quality attention - Bridesmaid Luncheon, Rehearsal, Rehearsal Dinner, Ceremony, Cocktail Reception, Wedding Reception, and Farewell Breakfast. The staff was able to execute each event seamlessly and the best part was that our guests were able to participate without driving anywhere.
This wedding was exceptional and we will be back to enjoy this resort again.

Our wedding at the Sanibel Harbour Resort can be summed up in one word, MAGICAL!
Stefanie and Courtney are the most honest, dedicated, helpful, and understanding people you will ever have the pleasure of working with. Every member of the staff from the valet attendants to our Bartender Duane were unbelievably professional and courteous. The resort itself is amazing, The Island Room was absolutely breathtaking. We thank everyone at the resort for making our special day one that we and all of our guests will never forget. -

I absolutely loved having my wedding here. It was a destination, and Anne Marie (wedding coordinator) could not have been more helpful. She was very responsive and helpful prior to the wedding, and could not have made it easier on me the week we were there.
The hotel in general is amazing. It went above and beyond my expectations. Everyone goes out of their way to be accommodating. Everyone had such a fabulous time, and I did not hear any complaints.
And OMG the food was amazing! I had multiple people tell me it was the best wedding food they've ever had.
The only thing, is request to have everyone in your group in the main tower. There are different towers, and some people got another tower.
I highly recommend having your wedding here. -

My husband and I were just married this past weekend at the Sanibel Harbour Marriott. We couldn't have picked a better venue! The property is beautiful and the options for ceremony and reception locations are perfect to suit every type of wedding, big or small. We had 145 guests flying in from all over the country and each and every guest was beyond satisfied with the newly renovated rooms, the friendly staff, and the convenience of having everything all on one property.
When we first started searching for the perfect place for our wedding, we fell in love with the Sanibel Harbour Marriott immediately. What sealed the deal was our meeting with Laura, the wedding sales manager. Not only was she extremely knowledgeable of the property, but she was so friendly and personable, my husband and I felt very comfortable knowing that she would be the person we would be working with over the next year. She is very professional, was always quick to respond to our phone calls and emails, and was always prepared with information we asked for or the answer we needed. She was so helpful throughout this entire planning process, always ready to give her own personal advice and opinion when we found ourselves having a hard time with a decision.
Jenna, the group housing manager, was so helpful coordinating our guests and accommodating everyone. For so many guests traveling so far, it was nice to know they were well taken care of once they got to the hotel.
On our actual wedding day, my husband and I were so wrapped up in the reception and having a good time, Doug from the Marriott, who was in charge of the reception, was so nice to make sure all of our items and valuables made their way back to our hotel room. We really felt that he and the staff were looking out for us and that our event was in good hands.
Our wedding day went so smoothly and was such a great success and I owe it to Laura and the staff at the Sanibel Harbour Marriott. -

The Sannibel Harbor Marriott Resort and Spa was a beautiful, perfect place for our wedding. All of the staff were extremely helpful and ready to assist our guests. We received Complimentary champagne and hor deurve's every night in our suite. Thanks for making this experience one to remember. -

My husband and I had our wedding there a couple of weeks ago and it was beautiful! It was just the two of us, so their small, private beach was perfect for us. The table setting and dinner were amazing! We have not stopped talking about the delicious food - hats off to the chef! David the server was wonderful - so professional and knowledgeable and fun to talk with. Laura who helped arrange everything was wonderful also. Although we didn't get a chance to meet, we exchanged several emails and she was always very quick to respond. She even provided us with a welcome / congratulations treat. The hotel was great at tending to our needs. -

We had our rehearsal dinner on the Princess Cruise and our Wedding reception in the Gardens Ballroom. The food was outstanding both nights. Service was exceptional. The resort is clean and beautiful. Banquet coordinators Robin Kocot and Adele were more than helpful in everyway possible. They are both very task oriented, acommodating and return calls and emails very fast. Great experience overall, not one complaint! -

I had a destination wedding. Myself and all of my guests stayed at Sanibel Harbour Resort. The staff was wonderful and were very accomodating. The hotel was beautiful. We got married on the beach and had the cocktail hour and reception at the hotel. The food was delicious. The entire experience with Sanibel Harbour Resort was stress free. When my husband and I returned to the room after the wedding reception, they had candles throughout the room, rose petals on the bed, a bottle of wine, cheese and fruit. They truly made it romantic. Everyone had a great time. My husband and I plan to return to the hotel for vacation. Many of our guests feel the same way. -

The is the most amazing hotel I have been to in a while. Everyone that works there is so willing to do anything for you. The views for their all balcony rooms overlook mangroves and Sanibel/Captiva Islands in the distance. The food was more than we ever expected and the service blew us away. Both my husband and I could have never imagined that our wedding would be so beautiful. Go look at the hotel and you will not need to go anywhere else. -

My husband and I planned a destination wedding. COURTNEY IS AMAZING!!!! She put all of our worries about planning a destination wedding at ease. She patiently answered all of MANY questions via email or set-up calls with us. We had our wedding at the end of July which is the off-season for this venue. In the months leading up to our wedding Courtney had her busy season with tons of weddings going on, but she never made us feel ignored despite how much she had on her plate. She also worked with us quite a bit to customize the ceremony, reception, meals, bar options, rehearsal dinner, and morning after brunch for our guests. The weekend of our wedding everything went perfectly (or as perfect as a wedding weekend can). The entire staff at the Sanibel Harbour Marriott was fantastic! They responded to all of our questions and immediate needs. All of guests were traveling in from out of town, some even traveling internationally, and the hotel made them feel so welcomed. Guests commented on how beautiful the resort is and how amazing the check-in staff were. Marisa was the person we worked with for the room reservations and she was so helpful! The bell/valet crew was incredible and helped all of our guests unload and get up to their rooms with their things in tow. They were also SO HELPFUL in packing up cars to leave! Seriously- they must be tetris experts. We got so many compliments on the food at the resort restaurants and the event catering staff. The decor inside the hotel is updated and well taken care of. The rooms were great. Because it was off-season all of our guests were able to stay in the Sanibel tower and most of them even had water views with balconies. The guest rooms were also affordable with the room block discount. The only thing I would say is that the room blocking procedure is a little cumbersome at times because of new contracts when adding additional rooms (which we did 5 times). We can't wait to get back to the resort to celebrate in the future! -

We did a destination wedding, which made me so nervous we never tried the food or the cake or met with anyone in person! The second we got to the hotel Courtney met with me and all my worries went away, obviously we had talked on the phone and emailed but as soon we met I got the warm and fuzzy feeling! Courtney was so attentive and helpful always made sure we had a beer in our hands, answered all our questions, best wedding ever! All of the marriott staff was amazing, kind, willing to help in whatever way they could. I can't think of one negative thing to say! -

Best Venue Ever!
We always wanted to do a destination wedding and the Sanibel Harbour Marriott checked off all of the boxes. We actually got engaged at this hotel and decided right then and there it would make for a perfect wedding venue. We were fortunate enough to work with some amazing staff members, specifically Leia, Doug, and Marisa. Everyone from the valet staff to the housekeepers made us feel welcome. Shout out to Steve and Mike from Valet who made sure everything made it to the correct rooms, Ricardo who worked by the pool and made sure we had everything we needed, and Casey who was an amazing server at our wedding giving extra plain bread to our picky eaters. We feel so blessed to have worked with such a phenomenal staff and an overall great hotel! -

Working with Courtney was a pleasure! From our initial meeting to the tastings, to the end result she and her staff did a great job. Honestly, she probably does the job of two people with the amount of work she does, but she is extremely diligent and hard working. We had such an amazing wedding and the ballroom we used was beautiful! Planning a wedding from Texas was no easy task, but Courtney and her crew were great! Marisa with reservations was also very helpful and quick to return phone calls/emails.
My husband wanted me to give a shout-out to the bartender. My husband’s drink of choice all night was Makers Mark as were most of his friends. Toward the end of the night, one of my husband’s friends went to go get another drink. The bartender politely told him that the last Makers bottle was running low and since that is what the groom was drinking he was going to save the last of it for him and asked if he could make another drink. How cool is that? Little details really do make a difference and my husband was so appreciative of this small but noticeable gesture.
The only concern we had was with the recommended cake vendor the Marriott gave us. Bess with Lady Cakes kicked us out of our tasting because her and our wedding planner had history. I DO NOT recommend Lady Cakes. Business is business, right? Lady Cakes was extremely unprofessional in the way they handled our situation. The owner started crying and yelling at us to leave her store. (We had never met her before and were unaware that she had issues with our wedding planner.) We called Courtney and within 20 minutes she had a new cake tasting lined up for us. Like I said Courtney is the best. She apologized profusely and her second recommendation for cakes was Vanilla Cakes. Milena was amazing and delivered us beautiful cakes and party favors. I highly recommend you asking for her to do your cakes if you work with the Marriott.

Had a destination wedding and would do it again in a heart beat. We had our rehearsal dinner there which went smoothly, I suggest bringing in a small speaker as there is no music in the room we were in. Our welcome party on the beach was a huge hit, who doesn't love a fire pit and s'mores? Wedding day was the best day of my life (cheese I know but true), Courtney made sure we got married on the beach even when we noticed our first rain drop when we started walking down the aisle. I was able to go in the room early to setup the morning of, whatever I did not finish (programs, some small decor) Courtney helped finish. The bar was able to stay open later on my wedding night which many guests took advantage of. Only issue is be sure you know how many rooms you need blocked before you sign the contract, we were charged more when we wanted to add more rooms after signing the contract. Some rooms aren't the nicest, some of my guests had minor issues. Would have liked to have my VIP's all in Sanibel tower rather than Captiva tower. Overall, we had a great experience and communication with Courtney was great. -

Everything was perfect!! The staff was friendly and very helpful. They made it such a smooth process. We got so many compliments on it. We are SO thankful we chose this place. If I had to make one suggestion, I did get A LOT of people telling me they had there cake taken away before they could even try it. Which included the bridal part and the groom. It was such a nice cake I was a little disappointed that only half the guest got to try it. Other than that I would say it couldn't of been better. Thank you!!! -

Sanibel Harbour Marriott Resort and Spa was the most amazing and beautiful place to be married. I am from Minnesota so I had to just trust that the pictures would accurately reflect the resort....and let me tell you, it was even better than I could have imagined! Our event coordinator, Courtney, was beyond amazing. She helped me work out every detail and was quick to answer all my emails! She guided the guests us where we needed to be and kept track of the schedule so we didn't have to. That was a huge weight off my shoulders!! She even ran our iPod during the ceremony and the first dances, since we didn't have a DJ! If Courtney is assigned to plan your event, you will be in very capable hands!
The food and service for our rehearsal dinner and wedding were amazing!
The location for the ceremony on the beach was beautiful and couldn't be more perfect for a smaller wedding. It is private but just right around the corner from the pool, so you will walk past the resort guests on your way to and from the ceremony, reception, and pictures. People stopped and stared, took pictures, and said lovely comments and congratulations as we passed. We even had people taking pictures and watching the ceremony from the balcony. we thought it was fun, we felt like celebrities!
We had our reception in the island room and our cocktail hour in the veranda outside it. The room was beautiful....absolutely perfect for our group! Everyone enjoyed the spectacular views and the sunset!
One warning....do not get your hair & makeup done at the spa. They are not organized, don't do things practically, and it doesn't turn out as nice as you would expect for the huge cost! And if you do, don't get ready there! Its tiny and not a nice space....my photographer said 'no go' and we moved back to the resort....but lost a lot of time. I could give you more details but not enough space and I can't review it separately. Get married here....just go somewhere else for hair & makeup! -

Sanibel Harbour worked with our budget and gave us what we wanted. Everything was at the same area of the resort and went smoothly. My only complaint was that some of our wedding guest had to stay at a different building. The staff went out of their way to help with everything. The venue is beautiful. -

We got married April 2010 and the location was stunning. Although our wedding coordinator changed three times, each coordinator was up-to-date regarding our requests and the overall agenda of the day which we found very professional. Sanibel took good care of us regarding contacting our vendors and fixing any little issues that came up. The day of our wedding coordinator and the staff provided superior service, from the ceremony to walking around with us with an appetizer plate while we were taking pictures. On the costly side, but overall I couldn't imagine a better day! If you are looking for a beautiful setting and excellent service, this is the place to go. -

Enjoyed my wedding day
There were some bumps in the road and things missed. But over all the wedding day went very well and I was happy with the venue itself and majority of the staff. You want the circle room it's beautiful and overlooked the sunset. Cove beach was excellent. The spa is incredible and the bridal suit was great as well.-

This Venue is the most beautiful place for a beach theme wedding. We got married on the dinner cruise and it was amazing. It is a 5 star resort so it is easy to have all your guest stay there because there is so much to do. We still go stay there when we visit Florida -

The venue was gorgeous! I had no complaints about the quality of service, the picture taking opportunities, and the thoroughness of their planning process. My advice for future brides is to be very careful what they promise you. Make sure that you have email proof of things that Courtney promises you. I had more than one issue with things being changed on me last second. They charge an extra fee to guarantee the guests to stay in the main tower, they up-charge chairs in the reception space, they change the time that you can decorate etc. Otherwise we had a great time! My husband and I are/were very happy. -

Overall was pleased with the venue for my wedding. Had some issues regarding vendor insurance liability, but in the end everything was taken care of. Food was amazing, service great. Request Nikki S. as your coordinator, she helped me out and was awesome. Can be pricey, but sometimes you just have to bite the bullet.

We had a great day at Sanibel Harbour! Will Roberts was the BEST; he took care of everything. Gorgeous evening; gorgeous ceremony; gorgeous sunset (although I'm pretty sure that one was God's doing...haha). I wouldn't change a thing!! -

We enjoyed our wedding at Sanibel Harbour. Our guests loved the facilities and the staff was wonderful. We would recommend it to anyone looking in Ft Myers/Sanibel -

We worked with three different wedding coordinators over the 14 months of our contract with the resort and were very pleased with how smoothly each transition was. All the planning meetings were great, everyone, including Courtney, current coordinator, was quick to respond to email, and all plans went smoothly...until 2 days before the wedding.

Marriott dropped the ball
The Sanibel Harbour Resort and Spa hosted our destination wedding on 11/8/18. We chose this location because my husband has been visiting here since he was a child and when he brought me here, I fell in love with it as well.
PROS: The food was fantastic and exactly what we wanted. Our guests are still talking about how it was the best food they’ve ever had at a wedding. Another great thing about this resort is that unlike other wedding venues in the area, they are very flexible and you can pretty much customize your wedding to exactly what you want while still keeping it affordable. The resort is absolutely beautiful, especially for an outdoor wedding, although there is a 10pm noise ordinance in effect, which means your wedding is over at 10pm.
CONS: Unfortunately, our wedding did not go as we had planned due to the lack of attention to detail by the hotel. I sent back our wedding checklist a month before the wedding, which outlined the final details for our big day. We bought a DJ light and had arranged with PSAV (the hotel’s internal AV company) to set up the light for our reception. I met with the director of PSAV 2 days prior to the wedding to drop off the light and asked them numerous times to please contact my husband when it was set up so he could make sure that it was set up correctly to play along with the music. I was assured that the reception area would be set up by 2pm and that they would call my husband. My husband never received a call from PSAV. When we got to the reception we immediately noticed that the light was not working correctly because they didn’t have on the correct setting. Part of our contract with them was to have a microphone at the reception site. They didn’t have a microphone set up so my husband’s cousin had to shout to everyone over the music that the bride and groom were here. Because of the lack of microphone, we were not able to have a dinner prayer (which was very important to us) nor could we announce that dinner was available. Instead we had to walk up to each table and let them know that they could go make a plate. Included on the wedding checklist was also a sweetheart table, a box for cards and a vase to hold my bouquet. None of these were present when we arrived. My husband and I spent the first hour of our wedding communicating with the wedding coordinators for them to correct what should have already been done per the wedding checklist. One of our guests had a broken chair and the staff removed this chair but when our sweetheart table was set up, that same broken chair was given to my husband.
The paper towel dispensers were not working and there was only 1 working stall in the women’s restroom and a broken sink in the men’s restroom. The next closest women’s restroom was upstairs so our elderly guests had to wait for an elevator to take them if the one working stall was occupied. I expect more from a Marriott hotel, especially when they know a wedding will be taking place.
We had a taco bar and Cuban sandwich bar at our reception. Unfortunately, guests made plates of food and then set them at their table so they could go to the bar for a drink and when they came back, their food had been taken away! The food clearly hadn’t been touched! A waitress came to clear my plate as I was talking to a guest and I informed her I was still eating it. When I turned around, my plate was gone. The waitstaff did not use common sense when it came to clearing tables and so much food was wasted. We had 76 cupcakes delivered in lieu of a cake. Instead of bringing all of the cupcakes out at once so guests could choose from different flavors, they brought out about 15-20. Guests were confused thinking there were only a few cupcakes so they were reluctant to take one. The waitstaff even cleared uneaten cupcakes from the guest’s tables before they could be eaten. At the end of the night, my sister had a box of cupcakes to be taken back to the room and the waitstaff also took these. I don’t even know if all of the cupcakes ever made it out to the guests since they were not brought out all at once. I was informed that all uneaten food is then fed to the staff at the end of an event, so I wonder how much of our food was ‘cleared’ because of this exact reason.
We had a 3-hour open bar with beer, wine and liquor. I can honestly say it was a huge waste of money because none of the guests who drank liquor even got buzzed. Some of the guests were drinking doubles and still didn’t feel anything. My husband and I are not big drinkers and we each had 5 mojitos and did not feel a thing. I addressed my concerns with our wedding coordinator regarding the liquor strength, wondering if it had been watered down and was assured that liquor is not watered down because it goes straight from the stockroom to the bar but they would ‘review the tapes’ to ensure this did not happen. I have never been updated on the outcome of this. If you’re planning your wedding at this resort, don’t waste your money on the liquor package, just go with beer and wine. Also, note that pitchers of water on the tables is not included, which I would think is standard for any event. If you book your wedding with Marriott, make sure you pay attention to every event check that is sent to you and go through it carefully. They tried to charge us $250 more for our bar package because they raised their bar prices after I had booked my wedding.
The bartender at our reception was rude to many of our guests, including our mothers. One of the times my mother-in-law went up for a drink, he said that he had just made her one. She said that she set it down and the waitstaff took it. He told her to keep better track of her drinks. At the end of the open bar, she went up for a double vodka tonic and he said they were out. She pointed to the bottle and said it's right there. He said it’s not enough for a double shot. She told him to pour what he had. My mom tried to get a drink with 10 minutes left of the open bar and he tried to charge her. She said there’s still 10 minutes left and he continued to argue with her. These concerns were also brought up to our wedding coordinator and we were told that this is not the type of service Marriott is known to provide and their IT and General Manager would ‘review the tapes’. I am not sure how they would determine rudeness from soundless video footage but again, we never heard the outcome of their findings. We did ask for money to be refunded on our bar package because of these 2 issues and were told they were unable to do that. We are very upset now hearing all of this because not only is his rudeness completely unacceptable but we paid for an open bar and it wasn't up to the bartender to police our guests.
My friends and I decided to rent the bridal suite at the resort so we could all get ready together. It was a $600 room rental which included champagne mimosas, water, tea, coffee and small sandwiches. There was only 1 bottle of champagne for 9 girls. When the champagne ran out, my aunt asked if they could bring another bottle up but was told that I had only ordered 1 bottle. When I booked the room rental and all hair appointments for my guests, I was only asked what kind of juice and sandwiches we wanted, never about how many bottles of champagne would be needed. Some of the girls didn't get any champagne. The room was not what you would expect when you hear ‘bridal suite’. Along with my hair, I had my make-up done at the spa as well. I have blonde hair and light eyebrows so in order to make my eyes ‘pop’, the make-up artist colored in my eyebrows but I kept saying they were too dark. She kept trying to ‘lighten’ them with more make-up to a shade that I was more comfortable with but I could tell she was getting irritated. When it came to choosing a lipstick, I thought I needed a light pink to really brighten everything up. I did not like the first color she chose. She continued to layer on more colors, which made it darker. I explained that I wanted it lighter and apologized, saying I wasn’t trying to be difficult. When she turned around to grab another color, we saw her roll her eyes in the mirror and sigh a few times. We were disappointed in the price considering the condition of the room and the customer service.
A perk of booking a wedding with Marriott is the choice of double frequent flyer miles or Marriott Rewards for hotel rooms. We chose the frequent flyer miles. A month and a half after my wedding, I had to reach out to ask when I should expect my miles to be added to my airline account because they still hadn’t been applied. I was told I had to open a Marriott Rewards account and link it to my airline profile. Once I did that, I figured it would be seamless. I kept checking my airline account and noticed under frequent flyer miles it showed 0 miles had been applied from the Marriott. I reached back out to my contact at Marriott and was told that I needed to contact Marriott Rewards directly to figure this out. I spoke with Marriott Rewards and she told me I had to contact the airline. When I called the airline, I was told I had to contact Marriott Rewards and speak with a supervisor. After an hour and a half of phone calls, it was finally resolved and the miles were added to my account. Another example of Marriott’s ‘stellar’ customer service.
After the wedding, we met with our wedding coordinator and discussed all of our concerns regarding our wedding. After two and a half months and countless emails, Marriott has refunded a small portion of our money. We are still not satisfied with the resolution considering the bar issues mentioned above but can see that Marriott is not willing to budge. We really thought we would receive a call from the General Manager or Director of Operations because of all Marriott’s errors with our wedding, but never received one. We told our wedding coordinator that we planned on bringing our friends and family back every year on our anniversary and have the hotel host a party as well as host corporate events through my husband’s business. After Marriott dropped the ball on one of the most important days of our lives in addition to the total lack of hospitality, we will never host another event with them.

The place is gorgeous. There was really only one thing that happened. I asked our contact there if anything goes wrong please get my maid of honor or my parents before getting me, well one thing went wrong and they got me instead. The thing that went wrong was they didn't have enough seats at each table. -

The resort is extremely beautiful. I was assigned three different catering managers in the year of planning. Unfortunately, the third one (and the one that actually worked with us during the wedding) did not demonstrate very high competency, professionalism, or customer service skills throughout our time together. She failed to inform myself or my future mother-in-law of the change to the rehearsal dinner location and menu until I asked about it. In addition, many of the questions I had posted through emails were not answered appropriately or were not answered at all. During the menu tasting, this catering manager miscommunicated to the chef one of the appetizers I wanted to taste. This resulted in two items being incorrect. -

Expensive but Missing High Quality & Personalized Service
Had we been assigned another “captain” for our wedding we might be writing a better review, but given the person we were assigned as our point, I can honestly say she was overall disappointing. From the final invoice being wrong significantly 4 times, to the complete disorganization and to having to repeat expectations and our wedding details several times more than one would have expected. Overall, we were irritated and disappointed but would not let it ruin our big day, however, suffice to say, we expected much more & certainly a more personalized experience.
The Pro’s- the food turned out very well for a plated service we were impressed.
The room and beach settings were clean and quite striking- they suited our wedding well.
The Con’s- not dependable in terms of being able to count on them to have our wedding details DOCUMENTED & organized, which created undo stress.
Very expensive - the value just was not there.
Missing remainder of our wedding cake which was to made to serve nearly double our attendance was very disappointing & no clear reason as to why it just disappeared.
Very reluctant to upgrade a customers w/a room upgrade who has high Marriott status (titanium) - was like pulling teeth.
However, We made the best of it and had beautiful pictures, but pay close attention to your bill and place EVERY details in writing and have signed off on.

Poolside ceremony/ballroom reception
The resort and amenities for friends and family is great! The staff worked well with my planner and other vendors. Few things to look out for is the price they charge for alcohol and what you receive for quality of open bar is lacking. Also our specialty cocktails that we sampled previously were completely different and didn’t taste great. The food and appetizers were delicious but small details like they didn’t provide steak knives for people who ordered steaks could be improved. -

This is a review we didn't want to give, but Marriott left us no choice. Starting with the positives was our terrific rehearsal dinner at The Courtyard and the terrific reception room and food.
The Sanibel Harbour outdoor ceremony location and condition couldnt have been any worse, I strongly suggest another ceremony venue. Guests face a hot Florida Sun without any shade unless a cold front moves in. Even worse is on the south side of the ceremony area there's an active marina which from a strong smell of fish guts infiltrated our ceremony, served to us by a light southern breeze as the fish cleaning tables were used by the fishing guides . The exterior of the hotel building and facilities were coated in dirt and grime adding to our complete dissatisfaction and our guests as well.
Now for our nightmare! About an hour before the ceremony we discover that our wedding bands are missing, not just the bands but the boxes they were in, and the jeweler gift bag holding the ring boxes. They were last seen being put with other items on one of three valet carts. The rings, boxes and bag have never been found. This huge facility I quickly discovered had only one camera, it faced the valet area and apparently doesn't work. The policy of Marriott not to provide fundamental security measures like video cameras to protect its clientele is shameful. The resort manager had to be pried from his desk begrudgingly after the 3rd request to speak with him. Marriott to date has yet to make any good faith effort towards us despite spending a great deal of $ at their resort. Extremely disappointed in the condition of the hotel. Very run down and dirty for a flagship of the Marriott Resort line. Everything in the public/event areas were worn down, tired and in need of replacement. Although the staff and wedding coordinator tried to accomodate us, they cannot make up for the condition that the owners of this hotel have allowed it to deteriorate to.Sanibel Harbour Marriott Resort and Spa's reply:

Our guestrooms, lobby and outside areas have been renovated and updated to meet Marriott's standards. The lobby furniture is brand-new and gorgeous and the rooms are breathtaking. Our AAA rated four diamond, four star resort has been updated and improved. Again, we apologize that your wedding took place during this time. -
