Sandy did a phenomenal job with our engagement photos and wedding. She welcomed our dog(s), which was a must for me, and then when our dog ruined most of our engagement photos the first time around, she offered to meet with us again to try a few more. We have gotten countless compliments on our wedding photos. Sandy was quick to respond, very accommodating, and great to work with. Her prices were much better than a lot of the big companies in the twin cities.Sandy did a phenomenal job with our engagement photos and wedding. Sandy did a phenomenal job of capturing all the love and happiness at our wedding! Not only did she take vibrant group pictures of all of our family members and the wedding party, but she also took so many wonderful candid pictures throughout the rehearsal, the wedding itself and the reception that it was like experiencing the wedding all over again when we viewed all of the photos. Sandy is warm and wonderful to work with, and you will love the pictures she creates!Sandy did a phenomenal job of capturing all the love and happiness at our wedding! Sandy was so great to work with! She responded to all my questions and was flexible when plans changed at the last minute due to the weather. She really cared about getting to know our expectations and personalities to make the day run smoothly. Right from our first conversation Sandy was nothing but accommodating. She was flexible and worked within our budget which was such a big difference than any of the other photographers I spoke too. Our resort wanted to charge us like $450 as an outside vendor fee, so instead Sandy was kind enough to pose as a guest so we just had to purchase her a day pass!
She met with my husband and his groomsmen first and helped organize them as well as getting some amazing shots, just what I wanted of them getting ready. Then she met me and my bridesmaids, she helped calm my nerves as I was definitely feeling the stresses by this point in the day. She was amazing at directing us but still letting us enjoy the moment and do our own thing.
At the ceremony she captured every moment imaginable and more! From guests expressions, to warm embraces, every photo makes you feel like you're there.
We got married at the aqueducts next to Rosehall which had these beautiful stone arches and old ruins and with a little encouragement I was able to climb up onto one of the ledges. The photo is by far my favorite, my dress is blowing in the wind, and friends and family keep saying we look like we're out of a magazine! Sandy May went above and beyond, retouching certain photos, and providing us with every single shot on a gorgeous CD with our names, the date and in a leather case!
I couldn't be more happy with my choice, it's scary choosing someone having never met them but I'm thrilled she was a part of our day :)
I just mailed off my thank you cards and I'm so happy Sandy got great shots of us with every single wedding guests which we were able to print out and give to our guests along with some candid photos as well.

I found Sandy May from good reviews she had on some destination wedding websites. I checked out her website and sent her an email to see if she would be in Jamaica the time of my wedding. She got in touch with me immediately. From then on I had a good feeling about her. Sandy is very attentive and will always answer any questions as soon as she can. Most importantly my photos came out great! She came early to the resort I was staying at the day of my wedding. I booked her for 5 hours and got 740 pictures edited and sent to me in 2 weeks. We were originally attracted to Sandy May because her galleries were both artistic and natural. It was an added bonus that she was able to capture our engagement photos in our hometown of Minneapolis and our wedding in Jamaica! She has the gift to make people feel comfortable while not intruding on the event. Sandy beautifully captured the environment as well as us, our family and friends. She even had the patience and sense of humor to work with our stubborn dog during the engagement session. The photos she took are now our most cherished keepsakes.
Apart from her great photos, Sandy also provides stellar customer service. She is responsive to emails and is genuinely concerned with your event. When rain loomed on our wedding day she offered to come back the following day if the weather didn't cooperate for outdoor photos. Additionally, it is a luxury to have a full disc of her images. Couldn't have asked for a better photographer! Sandy captured our day beautifully, we have so many stunning photos to choose from. One of the main reasons we decided to begin working with Sandy was because of her responsiveness to my questions during by photographer selection process. She was extremely prompt and helpful with all of her responses, it gave me a sense of relief that she would be someone easy to work with for our wedding in Jamaica. She had a lot of experience with destination weddings and also being from the US was a plus for us because she was familiar with a lot of the photos we wanted to capture. Sandy was extremely organized and professional throughout the entire process!
My husband and I also had a trash the dress shoot which Sandy also photographed with her husband Pata. We traveled to Negril and they picked us up at our resort and escorted us to a few amazing places! We felt extremely comfortable and right at home with them both! They truly were amazing and we are even planning a reunion next time we're down in Jamaica. HIGHLY REC!! Thank you Sandy & Pata!!Sandy was such a pleasure to work with!

We could not have been happier with Sandy as a photographer. She put in the extra time and really cares about getting beautiful shots. We just had our wedding a week ago but I have already seen some absolutely gorgeous photos from Sandy. She is very easy to work with and an extremely hard worker. I know a lot of people read reviews and it's hard to make a desision based on someone else's experience. I am actually one of those people that don't really read reviews much less write them unless I've had an out of this world experience in which I did with sandy. Having sandy as our photographer for our wedding in negril,Jamaica in November was one of the best decisions we made. Sandy showed up on time and I emediately felt like I had known her for years she made me feel so comfortable in front of the camera! I felt like a model and she even asked me if I had done some modeling which I have not! We actually were not allowed to have third party vendors at our location but sandy made it work she looked like a guest at our wedding. She got great shots of us on the beach before the reception started and we didn't spend a whole lot of time taking them. We also used sandy for a 3 hr trash the dress session 2 days after the wedding she showed up at our resort ready to go we got driven around to multiple, beautiful locations in the Negril area. These pictures are by far my favorite ones there are so many "money shots" that i still have not been able to pick the ones that I will have framed around our home. Sandy is first class all the way she is warm, welcoming and the nicest person. We will defiantly use her again in the future when we have a little one and return to Jamaica. I can't even begin to express our gratitude for the wedding photography provided by Sandy May, when we received our wedding photos we were amazed not only by the shots but the emotions conveyed in each picture. Whenever we look back through our wedding photos it is so easy to re-live the day!
Sandy and her photography partner were great to work with, very professional and honestly we enjoyed having them be apart of our day. Sandy was a recommended to me by another Iberostar Rose Hall Suites bride who lives in Washington D.C. as well, and thank God for it, because I don’t think I would have found her otherwise! The cool thing about her is she is a 35 year photojournalism veteran from Minnesota and has a studio there, but she “winters” in Jamaica and has shot many weddings all across the island for several years. I really enjoyed working with Sandy, and thought her package was a great value. Her Jamaican home is 2 hours away from my resort and Jamaican roads are dangerous at night, so she arranged (last minute) to have a shooting partner local to Montego Bay, Chantel, arrive later to shoot from 7pm – 10:00pm, which we paid an extra $400 for – totally worth it! Sandy was incredibly responsive via email throughout the entire wedding planning process, timely and efficient on the day of, accepts PayPal :) and got the photos back to me within 3 weeks of my wedding, which was phenomenal to have such a quick turnaround.
The 1000+ photos she took were very photojournalistic, which I loved – not staged at all – and really captured the love, excitement and beauty of the day. You can clearly tell from her work product and demeanor that Sandy is a true professional and is incredibly experienced at shooting weddings. She also made a wonderful video with all of the highlights of the day that I have been sharing with friends, family and co-workers and they all have the same response, “Everything was so beautiful!” At the end of the day, the pictures are the only thing that last from your wedding and Sandy has captured all of my precious memories so perfectly. It gives me goosebumps to think that my great, great great-grandchildren will be able to view these pictures many years from now (long after I am gone) and still feel the love between my husband and I on our special day.
I highly, highly, highly recommend Sandy for any wedding needs – especially Jamaican destination weddings!
Sandy was a recommended to me by another Iberostar Rose Hall Suites bride who lives in Washington D.C. as well, and thank God for it, because I don’t think I would have found her otherwise! The cool thing about her is she is a 35 year photojournalism veteran from Minnesota and has a studio there, but she “winters” in Jamaica and has shot many weddings all across the island for several years. I really enjoyed working with Sandy, and thought her package was a great value. Her Jamaican home is 2 hours away from my resort and Jamaican roads are dangerous at night, so she arranged (last minute) to have a shooting partner local to Montego Bay, Chantel, arrive later to shoot from 7pm – 10:00pm, which we paid an extra $400 for – totally worth it! Loved working with Alicia and Matt. Normally I have no problem returning home from Mobay at night, but because the request to add overtime hours came in last minute, my driving arrangements couldn't be changed, and I was so happy to have Chantal, who is a gifted photographer finish off the reception photos for me. Usually, with more advance notice, I have a great night driver. -

She took a great variety of photos. It was amazing how many photos and quality she took without being intrusive. She was very respectful and responded to our every request for pictures. Her assistant was also very respectful and professional. Having the engagement session before hand, helped get to know each-other's style and made us feel more comfortable during the wedding. A little bit more direction during portrait shots could have been helpful. We were very pleased with everything and would use her again.She took a great variety of photos. We really enjoyed working with Sandy at our summer Minnesota wedding. The shots are timeless so we know in years to come we will still be enjoying our wedding album! She made group shots go super fast. Although she was working fast, the shots came out great.
She was flexible with the schedule and worked well with our other vendors. We were supposed to do outdoor shots right before the reception, but it was too sunny. I appreciated that Sandy had the knowledge that if we put off the shots till after dinner the lighting would be better and we would get our shots. Once again, she worked really quick so we could get back to the reception and keep our DJ's schedule on track.
My only criticism is that she didn't help make a list of the group shots and other shots we waned so we missed out on some photos.We really enjoyed working with Sandy at our summer Minnesota wedding.
