I did not know what I was doing but my friend saw san diego life events recomended on FB so I messaged them. Rachel was the sweetest and she responded fast and calmed my nerves. at first I thought to save money I was only going to do day of planning but I ended up adding to do month of. I wish I did more tbh looking back but thats not Rachel's fault bcuz I told her I was trying to save money lol and she was working with me. Rachel wasnt available on my wedding day but she helped all the way up until the day and even at the rehearsal. That day we met her and she felt like a long time friend. everyone loved her and she was smart and funny. it helped so much and my anxiety was not as bad after that. on my wedding day my coordinator was alicia and freeda and they were awesome. just like rachel they were so nice and on top of everything u can really tell that rachel takes hiring her coordinators seriously because they could not have been more perfect for our day. they even did things i did not expect or ask them to do that helped everything and my husband who was not really involved much in planning mentioned how impressed he was. my mom also who was annoying them alot also said how she loved them and wants them for my brothers wedding too. At the end of the night everything was already packed up for us for my mom to take and we didnt have to wait or do anything. i am so grateful that i chose to hire San Diego Life Events they are truly the best and i will recommend them to anyone getting married -

It was amazing to work with Rachel and her associate (Christina)! Rachel is very organized, responsive and professional. When I asked her for vendor recommendation, she gave her unbiased opinion based on how the vendors responded to me. She was also very forthcoming if she has worked with a vendor before but want to make sure I choose the right vendor for myself. Christina and our venue came through the day of and made sure everything went smoothly. It was raining the morning of our wedding, but Christina helped flip our venue from the inside to the outside lawn an hour before the ceremony when we had a sun break! -

Amazing!!!
Our venue required a Day of Wedding Coordinator. I chatted with a few but could not find the right fit. Thankfully I found Rachel! We clicked right away. She understood exactly what I wanted and needed. We met with her and Christina for our rehearsal and they made everything so easy. Even got a little surprise for my daughter! The day of the event I did not worry about anything. Christina ensured everything was set up, ready and running smoothly. I was most worried about not being able to enjoy my wedding because of the logistics. But thankfully all was well managed and we had the best day! We were relaxed and able to fully be in our wedding! I cannot thank them enough. For anyone getting married, they are a must!! -

I cannot say enough about how much we appreciated having Rachel and her teammate, Alicia, coordinate our wedding. Rachel was extraordinarily organized and on top of things from day one, and as we got closer to our wedding, she was a speedy communicator, answering any and all questions that came up. We even had a small issue arise with communication with our venue, and Rachel stepped up and reassured us that if any problems came from it, she'd handle it--and she did! I am so grateful for the confident and no-nonsense way she managed everything, all while still being extremely kind and welcoming. She's someone you quickly feel able to confide and trust in.
On the day of, Rachel and Alicia set up our decor stunningly, improving on our own ideas. And throughout our reception, we didn't have to give a thought to the flow of events or making things happen--we just got to enjoy it while Rachel and Alicia made things flow smoothly behind the scenes. They also made packing up a breeze, and we were out of the venue almost immediately after our event wrapped up.
I cannot emphasize enough what a difference booking Rachel and her team made to our day, and I highly recommend them! I can't imagine our wedding day without them. -

We cannot say enough good things about Rachel and her Associate Christina. We were looking for Day of Wedding Coordination services as required by our venue. From a preferred vendor list provided by that venue, we chose San Diego Life Events. Their website drew us in and we were not disappointed. Between the two of them we were gently guided and assisted through the rehearsal and wedding day events with warmth, kindness, humor and total professionalism. From the beginnning we knew we were in good hands. In the two weeks leading up to the wedding date Rachel took over coordinating with our vendors and the venue. All we had to do was show up. It was a perfect day.

Our amazing coordinator!
I found San Diego Life Events when in search of a coordinator that would be in support of LGBTQ weddings, knowing that Rachel and her team would be bringing love and support to our wedding. When finding her website and seeing “you are exactly where you’re meant to be” I actually did know. From the moment I spoke with Rachel she made wedding planning feel like a dream and took so much weight off our shoulders. Every detail we mentioned to her she made come a reality. San Diego Life Events did everything from hang floating candles at our Harry Potter wedding to bring my wife and I had plates of food, ensuring we didn’t miss a moment of our beautiful day and we’re still fed. San Diego Life Events made our day so beautiful beyond words. I will never forget the phenomenal day of our wedding and I will always be grateful to have had San Diego Life Events as our coordinator. -

Rachel is a lifesaver! She's there for you from day one. We booked her for partial planning and I am so glad we had her through the whole process. Rachel is honestly more than just a coordinator. She got to know us and befriend us; I even got the cutest dinosaur plushie gift from her when I told her I was a paleontologist! She's on top of everything; she'll send payment reminders, reach out to vendors, give great advice, help you through rehearsal, and make you feel taken care of. Our wedding day went perfectly and we had zero worries about the venue, vendors, or guests. My partner and I were able to enjoy our day together!

From the very beginning, Rachel was not only a sweetheart but also a true professional. We hired her for Day Of coordination for our wedding at the Catamaran, and she made sure everything was planned perfectly and ran like a dream. When the notorious bike riders of Mission Beach rolled by just before the ceremony, Rachel skillfully timed the start to make sure they cleared the area. Rachel is a gem. She was flexible and so easy to work with. The support we had from her the day of the wedding was so helpful. We had a very fun light hearted wedding and was hoping she would reflect that energy which she really did with dressing up and cracking jokes to break tension all while being attentive and professional.
The only regret we have is that we wished we went with her full package. -

Incredible Day of Coordinator Experience
We hired Rachel as our Day of Coordinator for our wedding in September 2023 and have nothing but praise to give. Rachel quickly responded to our emails, maintained detailed notes about our plan for the day, and executed on our plan. We also really appreciated how Rachel handled discussions with everyone. Rachel kept an incredibly positive attitude throughout our wedding day and our rehearsal but was also very efficient and direct about what needed to get done so we could all stay on schedule. Rachel helped me plan a wedding in San Diego while I was living on the East Coast, and helped me through the entire process from start to finish. Her recommendations and insight in venue, catering, and rental selection helped take a gigantic workload down to a managable one. She helped me understand the array of costs listed on the various vender Estimates, and upon my request help me find less expensive alternatives when available, saving us a ton of money. On the day before and the day of, she was invaluable. She helped keep everything running smoothly, allowing me and my spouse to focus on the event and the guests. She was such a great planner to work with. -

So just like many other of you couples we were somewhat clueless on the wedding process and Rachel held our hand along the full process. She was quick to answer any and all questions we had. She was very attentive before and during the wedding as she even brought us food and drinks going above and beyond for her clients. She was great at coordinating all of the venders. Even though there were some unexpected hiccups in our wedding not due to her, she was able to pull everyone together and make sure we had an amazing experience and fun celebration for us and our guests. I will never forget everything my wedding planner rachel did for me. i cant believe what i went thru planning my wedding before i found rachel she saved the day i mean that. i had some other really great vendors but tbh rachel was my favorite. i have already recommend her to friends. obviously i had never got married before but i feel like she went above and beyond for me n my hubby and we were so happy. everything was great. we could trust her to have our back with everything. she is more then just a wedding planner she feels like a sister or a good friend. i didnt think i would need a planner but when things were crazy im happy we came up with the extra $$ to hire her. 1000000%%% worth every single penny i would have paid even more if i could. hire her u will not be disapointed. -

I wanted something simple, but simple often means lots of behind the scenes... and Rachel made that happen! Not only that, but she and her team saved our day—multiple times! It never rains in San Diego, or so we thought! 24 hours before our wedding we had to hire a vendor to set up a last minute tent so we could still enjoy the day outside. There were issues with communications between that vendor and our venue that could have wrecked the day, but Rachel stepped in (more like ran in!) and made sure it was done right. Not just right, but perfect! This is one of the many saves that I know about, though I’m sure there were many, many more. She’s extremely professional, easy to communicate with, and takes your day very seriously. I’m so glad she was there for us. My only regret- that I didn’t hire her for more help (she did day of coordinating) that weekend. -

Hiring San Diego Life Events made my wedding day unforgettable and as stress free as possible! I was recommended Rachel by a friend who knew I was struggling and overwhelmed by trying to plan everything for my wedding. My husband and I were on a budget and most wedding venues did not take us seriously. Rachel took our budget and created our dream wedding (we chose the all inclusive planning package which relieved a lot of stress from my husband and me). Our payments were easy and affordable for us, and she didn't go over our budget unless we asked for specific add ons (which she was more than happy to provide for us). She was extremely available to us, always getting back to our emails the same day (usually within a couple hours) and helping to keep our nerves at ease during the entire planning process. And she always made sure that we were keeping to our wedding planning time line. The day of our wedding Rachel was on top of everything! Any problem or issue that arose, she quickly solved it without having to worry us. She kept us on time for our wedding schedule without being bossy. And her vendors were professional and took care of us as well (like recreating the exact bouquet and wedding cake design we wanted). She really took care of us and treated us like family, she genuinely wanted our day to be perfect and did everything she could to get us there. Both my husband and I absolutely 100% recommend San Diego Life Events for your wedding! -

Our day of wedding coordinator, Rachel Weinshanker, was hands down the best decision we made when wedding planning. As a project manager and Type A personality, it was very important to me to plan all the details of my special day. I realized the need to have a professional execute the tasks and coordinate all the efforts on our wedding day. From the beginning, Rachel has been thorough in learning all the details of our wedding. She created our master timeline and used her professional experience changing some things around. During our ceremony rehearsal, she was so detailed in how we stood at the altar and recommended things that would look good in our photographs. On our wedding day, she was calm, cheerful and always had a smile on her face. She set up our wedding decor flawlessly and exactly how I envisioned. During the dinner service, we noticed that our catering company was serving the wrong entree and I was very upset. She calmed me down and got to the bottom of what had happened faster than the catering company itself. I will forever be grateful for how she handled that stressful situation and prevented me from going into full melt down mode. Rachel is a true gem and I couldn't have asked for a better person to trust on my wedding day. Thank you Rachel!! -

Rachel is Amazing!
I was so worried to hand all the details over to another coordinator with a difficult venue and a short amount of time to set up. When I met Rachel and her team I knew I didn't have to worry. She was able to keep a large bridal party (16 people) in line and organized the rehearsal nicely. She organized the reception room and cocktail hour exactly how I wanted and I only pointed and provided limited details. Whenever I thought about something during the wedding, Rachel was one step ahead! Do yourself a favor and hire Rachel. She really understands the details and cares. You will not be disappointed! -

She came to the rescue every time I started to have a bit of anxiety planning for the wedding. I reached out to her when there were many questions that came up while planning in which I had no idea how to answer or know where to begin to research. She calmed my nerves multiple times throughout the wedding planning process and she always responded via text or email very enthusiastically, quickly, and reassuringly with more advice than what I would have expected. I must thank her for providing over half of the vendors and services at my wedding which is why and how my wedding turned out not just beautifully but, beyond what I even imagined. From the florist, to the deserts, to the linen/rental and to the smallest details of signs/decor, I owe a lot to Rachel for helping make everything come to life. All vendors she recommended were very cost efficient, friendly and did their job well with enthusiasm just like her :-) She also provided all 12 of my table center pieces, my sweetheart table mr/mrs. sign and came to the rescue with a back up ceremony aisle runway as the rental company forgot my runway!
Not only is Rachel an amazingly organized and friendly coordinator, but she's FUN and all of my guests were raving about her! I along with all 115 guests recommend her as all of our guests came to know her throughout the night. Rachel helped make the best party of my life one to always remember and I can say so with my utmost enthusiasm. As the story goes, my husband and I booked our venue, and were hoping to find a coordinator who could take our remaining budget and plan/coordinate the rest of our big day. Through the power of the interwebs, we were able to find Rachel and the San Diego Life Events team :)
From the start, Rachel was super amazing to work with. She was quick to respond, and super patient and kind with all my questions (I plan events for a living, so it was kind of hard to relinquish that responsibility to someone else, lol).
Rachel was the perfect fit for us. Prior the wedding, Rachel was incredibly responsive and super duper solution oriented. I felt like she understood my vision of a sweet, simple, and fun celebration and brought it to life. When the day came, everything ran smoothly- her team came to assist, and they kept the day running smoothly! We also loved all the vendors she chose- the rentals were lovely, the photographer was amazing, the DJ kept the party going, the bartender was sweet, the florals were fantastic, and the catering company was awesome! Note-- she even worked with the catering company to make our dream Filipino menu (complete with pig) happen.

I was a pretty hands on bride and had done most of the planning myself, but as I started to think about "herding the kittens" on the day of the wedding, I began contemplating hiring a day-of coordinator. A well meaning friend said "you don't need to hire a coordinator! You've got all your girls to help out!" (Yes, but then someone still needs to direct traffic, assign tasks, etcetera!) All I can say is that ignoring that friend and hiring Rachel was the best decision I made for our Big Day!! Rachel handled everrrrrything:
*Decorated and set up the venue and carried out my vision PERFECTLY
*Met the vendors for set up in the beginning and clean up in the end
*Coordinated with the venue to make sure they played certain songs at requested times (we didn't have a DJ)
*Kept the timeline running seamlessly, and checked in with me periodically to give me timing options
*Prompted our announcer when it was time to announce each portion of the evening
*Made sure I had a prosecco when needed (very important)
*Took the initiative to move décor when needed
*Made sure our gifts, cards, and décor made it to our room upstairs
I'm pretty sure I'm forgetting about 10 other things, but needless to say, we didn't have to worry about a thing. My husband commented later that he was pretty surprised that he was able to just show up and enjoy the night and not have to do anything. (He was also impressed by the very detailed questionnaire that she sent during the planning stage, and felt relieved that she "seems to have thought of everything!") Rachel is also extremely friendly, professional, and had the best response time of any coordinator I was considering/interviewing.
If you're wondering if you really need a coordinator, you do. Look no further, hire this awesome team!! -
