After trying on several dresses at several shops, I found myself gravitating towards a dress I first tried on at Sage. It was off the shelf and required extensive tailoring but even with that - it came in under my budget! In addition, the tailoring process (while it did take some time) was easy and the end result was absolutely perfect. I wish I could wear my dress out for special occasions regularly I love it that much. Everyone was so impressed with how well the tailoring came out, it fit me perfectly and looked like it was custom made just for me! -

I had a wonderful experience with Sage Bridal for my wedding dress and alterations. They did a fantastic job fitting me in quickly and were incredibly responsive over text. They even showed me which specific styles were in store and pulled 10 dresses that matched the styles I was interested in.
On my first visit, I found and purchased the Justin Alexander Estelle dress. Sage Bridal also handled the alterations for that dress and another one, and their work was impeccable. The prices were reasonable, and the team was easy to work with throughout the entire process.
I highly recommend Sage Bridal for their excellent service, responsiveness, and reasonable pricing. They made the entire experience enjoyable and stress-free. -

A wonderful bridal shop!
Working with Sage Bridal was a dream! I found a beautiful gown at a sample sale there. Christen and her team were able to resize the straps and sides for me so that it fit like a glove. She was very communicative and flexible about fitting times, and I got my dress back in plenty of time to spare. At my final fitting, seams on the dress caused me to break out in a rash, but she was able to work her magic so that on the day of my wedding I had no issues at all, and it was actually so comfy it felt like pajamas! Cannot recommend this team enough! -

I absolutely loved my experience with Christen and Sage Bridal! All of my bridesmaids are out of town so I only had Christen there for me from the beginning to end. She was so supportive, energetic, and wonderful at every step of the way. She gave honest advice and feedback and gave me tips on everything. Scheduling was so easy and the fittings went so smoothly. The dress fits me like a freaking GLOVE! Prices are super reasonable, too. At the final fitting, I had some friends come with me and now they all want to get their dresses at Sage too! Every addition/change/alteration I wanted was accommodated. I love how you get the whole boutique whether it’s for trying on dresses or for any of your fittings. I can’t wait to wear my dress soon and I’m sad I won’t be making anymore visits to Sage! -

My husband and I got married in May 2023, but I went shopping for my dress in April 2022 to give myself plenty of time. Sage Bridal was the 2nd bridal shop I went to, and I had a great feeling about it as soon as I stepped into the shop! There was one specific dress I came to try on, and Christen had it ready for me when I got there (she also set aside some other dresses that were a similar style). Lo and behold, my "yes" dress was one that she had picked! She knew exactly what I was looking for and helped to find dresses in my preferred style. Christen and her team were a pleasure to work with. They were super nice and helped me to feel comfortable when trying on the dresses. I would absolutely recommend Sage Bridal to any bride in the DC/NoVA area! -

This is what made me feel like a bride!
I loved visiting Sage Bridal and choosing my dress from there. I felt overwhelmed at the other stores I had been to and honestly felt like I may have to settle. Luckily I didn’t have to, because we found Sage. We were able to have a dedicated session, where Christen was able to narrow down gorgeous gowns to what truly made me feel like a bride. She was super flexible with scheduling as well, which made the process a lot easier (especially when I wanted to get input from family and friends that lived all over the place). 10/10 recommend to any bride in the DMV!

I highly recommend Sage Bridal! They have the most gorgeous selection of wedding dresses. They made my Bridesmaids and I feel very special and even had Champaign when I made my final decision. They perfectly hemmed and altered my dress as well. Couldn’t be more in love with my dress and veil more! And I got SO MANY compliments!! -

There are about a million reasons why I gush over Christen’s bridal store, Sage. However, I’ll make this brief so you can get on your way to making an appointment with her after this pandemic is over! 1. Her experience, there isn’t a single bridal salon that I walked into that had the experience that Christen has created. She spends time on making each appointment have a special touch for the bride and her guests (I won’t spoil it here!) 2. Her atmosphere, her dresses, are organized and not overwhelming, her shop is beautifully decorated, and the music she has playing lightly in the background just makes the moments in her shop fun. 3. Christen herself, she has just the right amount of presence in the room. She helps each bride get into their dress, takes the time to adjust the dress to make it look right, and then she steps back and lets you discuss each dress with whoever your audience may be. Now, if you’re like me, and straight up ask her for her opinion she will swoop in with advice, however she lets you process and think through the dresses without being overbearing. I would highly recommend Sage Bridal if you are truly looking for special moments when you find your wedding dress. -

I didn’t think I’d find MY dress!
I stumbled across Sage from a wedding wire search and had never heard of it even though I live in Fairfax. It was my first dress appt and I expected to go to several places before finding the one. I went to my appt alone and Christen made me feel so comfortable and she had already picked out a bunch of dressed based on what I had told her I like. I loved the first one I put on. Then I loved the 2nd one. Then came the 3rd one and I couldn’t even remember what the first 2 looked like. I had found THE dress and I knew it. I cried. I danced. And then I said “can I try a veil?”. The first veil she pulled seemed like it was made for this dress. It added just the right bit of fabulous and I teared up more. I had wanted my mom and sisters to be there as well, so I gave them a call and we waited the 20 minutes for them to arrive. They loved it and agreed and my mom cried too. It was just such a wonderful experience and I can’t wait to get married in it! Thank you Christen for helping me find my dream dress to marry my Kristin 😂😊 You’re the best! -

Christen is amazing! I've been to four other bridal stores before coming to Sage Bridal and I'm so happy I found them. Most bridal store had the dresses and designers and thank god for Sage Bridal, otherwise I wouldn't have found my dress!! I had some issues with my dress after it was altered the first time, which was NOT Christens fault, but luckily she helped me through that process and everything turned out great! I'm absolutely in love with the dress and I would recommend everyone to go to Sage Bridal! -

Christen helped me find THE perfect dress! It took one appointment and maybe 12 dresses. Christen helped manage the opinions of my "entourage" and I was able to find a dress I new my future husband would love. The dress was a reasonable price and alterations were minimal! If I could wear the dress every day, I would. Christen, THANK YOU so much!!

I cannot even begin to share the amount of appreciation I have for Sage Bridal Owner, Kristen. She saved my wedding day! I ended up not loving my dress from another salon, after alterations. Time was short but she did everything she could to help me find a gown I loved. It ended up being perfect, Her honest feedback, attention to detail and sincere desire to make people happy is the perfect mix. I highly recommend a visit to her charming boutique. -

I originally went to her to look for a gown and even though I didn’t end up buying my gown from her (which I wish I had), she ended up doing all my floral arrangements. Throughout the process, she constantly checked in with me, answered all my questions, and listened to everything I had to say. Christen did my bouquet, the bridal party bouquets & boutonnieres, corsages for the mothers, and the flower arrangement for the arch. She did an amazing job and we got so many compliments. Christen’s shop is definitely a one stop shop (she also does hair & makeup as well!). She takes the time to help you choose an amazing gown and listens to what you have to say. I highly recommend Christen for all the services she provides!

Erin Sent on 11/27/2017Christen Lee with Sage Bridal is amazing! She did all my decorations and flowers for my wedding and went above and beyond. Every little detail she thought of. I gave her my vision, including color scheme and favorite items I liked and she far exceeded my expectations. Christen is your girl if you want your wedding to be perfect and you know you won't worry about the little details. You won't find a better person in this area! **I will update my post with more pictures when i get them.**

Great service to find the perfect dress!
Great service! I found Sage Bridal in Apr 2021 and got married January 2022. Unlike most bridal shops, I was able to try on more then 5 dresses and I was able to have time to think and talk with my sister without interruption of upselling. Christen and her niece were great to work with. They're super chill and not all up in your face like other retailers. They also do alterations which was great so I didn't need to go find another place. The dress turned out perfect-- see for yourself in the photos :) Thanks so much Sage Bridal for giving me the perfect dress and making me feel beautiful in it -

If I could go back and do it all over, I would NOT purchase my wedding dress from Sage Bridal.
Trying to schedule appointments was challenging, multiple rounds of alterations weren’t yielding results, and Christen was a no show for what was supposed to be the final fitting that my mom, sister and best friend had taken off from work and drove four hours to be there for. Christen did gift me with a veil as an apology for missing this appointment, which was greatly appreciated considering the amount of effort that was made to get all four of us at that appointment, that unfortunately never happened.
At the fourth alterations appointment Christen told me her seamstress was going out of the country in 3 days and if further alterations were needed she “would have to find me someone else”.
Unfortunately additional alterations were still needed, so I decided to find a seamstress on my own and took my dress to another bridal shop who carried the same designer. This presented the opportunity to compare seamstress work and pricing.
The first photo is the bustle Sage Bridal charged me $150 for – one loop hooking the train to a decorative button on the back of the dress. The second and third photos show the bustle the second seamstress delivered, also for $150, with seven connection points and color coordinating ties. I’m not quite sure how the first bustle would have even worked as the dress is still hanging on the ground.
I reached out to Sage Bridal after my wedding and provided these same details about the bustle and asked if she’d review the charges and possibly refund me a portion given the difference in quality. I never received a response.
I anticipate there will be a nasty rebuttal to this review based on the other negative reviews that have been posted and based on my previous interactions with Christen. In fact, I went back and forth about even leaving a review because I didn’t want to deal with the negativity, but I ultimately decided that planning a wedding is stressful enough and the process of buying and altering a dress should be the most enjoyable and least stressful experience associated with a wedding. Unfortunately Sage Bridal caused a lot of extra stress and hassle for me and if I can prevent another bride from having to deal with the same issues. -
