Sabor de Vida was one of the HIGHLIGHTS of our WEDDING hands down!!!
So thankful to Rafal - owner of Sabor de Vida Brazilian Grill. He was EXCEPTIONAL!! From the time he contacted us, to taste testing at the Point Loma Location, and a second test tasting for the various Brazilian desserts, he made everything SO EASY!
The Food first of all, is AMAZING - high quality, healthy, and FRESH! They bring the kitchen to your venue 2-3 hours prior to the wedding, and start cooking it from scratch! So when people start coming in, they can smell the delicious food and get their appetite ready. We had 3 appetizers - tomato/mozzarella/basil sticks, chicken croquette, and beef pastel - which were perfect for craving the hunger pains prior to the reception. We also had the buffet of the steak, chicken, and delicious sausage which EVERY single guest raved about - they were impressed at how healthy the food was, especially for a wedding! Not the traditional hall catering of chicken and mashed potatoes, so they were SUPER excited about that. For desserts, we got the cinnamon-sugar covered pineapple slices, Pudim (flan), and Bragadeiro's (chocolate ganache balls) which our family was super impressed about. Guests are still coming up to us WEEKS after the wedding, telling us how AMAZING the food is!
Rafal was a great communicator - he is the CEO of this restaurant, but was always prompt at answering our questions! The prices for the catering were the MOST affordable out of all the other wedding caters in San Diego, and if I were to say so myself, the food was WAYYY better. Which was surprising since other caterers were charging $50 per person with not as good menu choices - just like I said the traditional chicken/mashed potatoes/veggies/bread options.
The day of - Rafael and his team delivered outstanding services and were so accommodating for us and our needs! They also provided water and iced tea, ice, as well as assisted with the cake-passing of our wedding cake! We didn't have enough utensils for the dessert, so thankful they came prepared and came to the rescue for this! They made our reception exceptional!
I would HANDS-DOWN recommend Rafael and Sabor de Vida Brazilian Grill for ANY WEDDING IN SAN DIEGO!!! You will not be disappointed and your guests will be absolutely LOVE the unique, delicious, healthy, and fresh food that Sabor serves with excellence!
Thank you SO much Rafael for making our day unforgettable!! He will definitely be our Go-To Caterer for future events! -

We were looking for food that was delicious, exciting, and unique. This is exactly what we found with Sabor. We received nothing but compliments from our guests about the food and the service. Rafael was so helpful every step of the way. We will certainly be visiting the restaurant again, as well as using their catering services. -

Sabor Brazilian Grill was an OUTSTANDING vendor for our wedding! Their catering services are beyond 5 star – Rafael and his staff were the most amazing, genuine, and reliable group of people we had the pleasure of working with to cater our big day! The food was delicious – we are still getting compliments from our guests months after! The quality of the hand-passed appetizers, Brazilian BBQ (cooked onsite), and all of the yummy sides was top tier. The food set up and presentation was very professional and Rafael’s team was able to accommodate some of our special requests to match our wedding design. Rafael’s team was also able to staff our bar & cocktail hour service for the event and they exceeded expectations. We can’t say enough good things about them – everyone was punctual, enthusiastic, beyond friendly, and extremely organized which allowed us to just enjoy our day. We recommend Sabor Brazilian Grill catering services to anyone – the whole package was beyond what we expected. THANK YOU RAFAEL!! -

I cannot express how deeply appreciative my husband and I are to have met Rafael and his team at Sabor de Vida. Throughout the many months of wedding preparation, my husband and I visited the restaurant on several occasions (both announced and unannounced) and we were blown away every single time. We knew our wedding food would be a success, and boy oh boy, were we right! BLOWN AWAY. EVERYONE. WOW. Reflecting on my wedding day, the amazing food and service bring a smile to my face. Sabor de Vida was truly the best wedding decision I made. Some detailed highlights include: 100% responsiveness, impeccable taste and quality cuisine, supreme and warm service, willingness to drive all the way from San Diego to Pasadena, unparalleled professionalism. WOW. I love this place and these people. I cannot recommend them enough. All of my wedding guests cannot stop raving about their dinner experience. My husband & I absolutely love the food, the staff, and the overall friendly environment! This past weekend we had Sabor de Vida cater our wedding and it was the best decision we made! Rafael & his staff were highly recommended to us by our coordinator and now we know why! From the very first food tasting to the day of, we were very well taken care of! Their bartending service was also incredible. We were happy and our guests were happy! Everything turned out perfect thanks to them. -

Sabor De Vida and Rafael (owner) were without a doubt the best decision we made for our wedding! we did not have a wedding planner and did everything ourselves
So when we needed bartenders, Rafael supplied them!
We needed someone to valet the golf cart to transport guests to our venue, Rafael supplied someone
We needed someone to do the flip and set up the tables, Rafael supplied them
We needed someone to clean up and breakdown, Rafael supplied them
Everything we needed Rafael and Sabor De Vida went way above what we expected from a caterer
Not mention, every single one of our guests loved the food and service
I would recommend Sabor de Vida to anybody
whether you are dropping by for lunch/dinner or planning a huge event such as wedding, corporate party, or birthday.

Sabor de Vida was hands-down the best choice we made for our wedding!! First, the food is absolutely incredible. All of our guests were raving about it, and we're still hearing comments about the food a week after the wedding. They cater to everyone; we had vegetarians and vegans at our wedding and there was enough options for them just out of the buffet package we selected, including appetizers. The food is so fresh and juicy, not overdone with spices or sauces, just amazing taste that even fussy eaters loved! In addition to the food, you can't get better people. Their staff were so nice and friendly, true to Brazilian style they were just beautiful, loving people who looked like they were having a great time working with each other.
Rafael from the beginning was so wonderful and easy to work with. He had to deal with our very difficult venue but didn't complain, and he was always positive and encouraging to me. He gave me advice about how to set up our tables and sent me photo examples, he was always there to answer questions when I asked. He is a genuinely good guy and was such a great choice for us. Our biggest mistake in planning the wedding was not remembering that we could have used Sabor de Vida for the bar as well as food. I can't recommend Sabor de Vida highly enough, and their prices were lower than any I looked at - even though the food was the BEST you can get. They even included disposable plates and cutlery as our venue didn't provide them.
Our venue Building 177 made us pay a fee for using an outside caterer, for us it was totally worth it to still go with Sabor de Vida instead of the venue's choices. They are absolutely the best catering vendor you can find! You and your guests will be so happy if you choose them! -

We loved Sabor from our first bite. Our tasting at their restaurant was such a great experience that we booked them the next day. And throughout the planning process Rafael was amazing. Prompt, professional, flexible, and so kind. We hired their bartenders as well and we couldn’t have asked for better. The food was delicious (all our guests raved), the service impeccable, and we had a great reception. Rafael sent US a thank tour before we had a chance to thank him!! Would recommend sabor de vida to anyone!!! -

Steve Sent on 05/22/2018We were looking for a Brazilian caterer for our son's wedding that would serve about 100 guests. After interviewing the possible candidates and sampling the food choices, we chose Sabor de Vida. The evening couldn't have been better. The setup and the Brazilian servers were excellent. The staging area was professional and always clean. And the food was exceptional.
Appetizers and drinks were served butler-style to the guests between the ceremony and the reception. The seated full-service dinner featured the combo plate, served Brazilian style, finished off with traditional grilled pineapple. They even customized some selections to fit our desires. The bride and her family are from Sao Paulo and had nothing but good things to say, as did our many guests. We heard over and over how enjoyable the dinner was and that it was like being at a upscale restaurant.
The catering party was friendly, easy to work with, and everything was seamless. We highly recommend them to anyone who has an event that has to be just right. We couldn't have been happier and wouldn't hesitate using them again.

Michael Sent on 03/23/2018My wife and my first date was actually at this restaurant. The quality of the meat is divine, and the passion fruit mousse is the best way to finish of this meal. The catering staff were polite and efficient, they arrived on time and were able to stage a buffet style table for my wedding. Even with limited space, they made it work. I couldn't be happier. Worth every penny and every bite :D
