We had SUCH a great experience with the Rod n Reel resort team for our wedding. Sarah as well as the rest of the catering team made absolutely everything perfect for us. Sarah kept us up to date the entire way leading up to the wedding with all of the Covid changes, and was so helpful working with us when we had to reschedule and downsize. I honestly could not recommend them enough, the venue was beautiful and the team was awesome.

Our Dream Venue & Team

We started our wedding weekend with our rehearsal dinner at the Dock, which was the perfect way to kick off our wedding weekend. The atmosphere, food, and service were amazing, and our family and friends had such a wonderful time together before the big day. Our guests also enjoyed the Resort amenities over the weekend while staying at the Resort for our big day!!

We started the day getting ready in the bridal suite which was the most perfect spot to spend the morning with my girls! The boys got ready in a suite which was just as perfect overlooking the Bay!

We celebrated our wedding reception at Rod
'N' Reel Resort, and it was everything we had hoped for and more. The venue is absolutely stunning. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful space to host our guests. The staff was incredible. From the event coordinators to the catering team, everyone was professional, friendly, and attentive. They made sure everything ran smoothly, and we felt like we were in good hands the entire time. Our coordinator, Lori, was especially helpful and ensured that all our needs were met, leaving us stress-free to enjoy our special day. The food was fantastic! Our guests couldn't stop talking about the delicious dishes and drinks! The entire day flowed seamlessly, and that's thanks to the wonderful team at Rod 'N' Reel Resort. Our wedding reception was exactly what we envisioned, and we are so grateful to have chosen this venue. We would highly recommend it to any couple looking for a beautiful and stress-free place to host their reception.

Perfect Venue for a Wedding

Our wedding was everything we hoped for and more. We held our rehearsal dinner, ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all at the Rod ’N’ Reel Resort, and it was absolutely perfect from start to finish. The food was exquisite, the views were breathtaking, and the staff went out of their way to make us feel well taken care of throughout the entire celebration.

Lori, the wedding director, was incredibly organized and always available to answer questions and manage every detail, which allowed us to truly enjoy the day without worry. Her professionalism and attention to detail helped create the wedding of our dreams.

I had my wedding 10 minutes away at a different venue, Herrington on the Bay, but I had a room block for my guests here at this resort. Renee was extremely friendly, responsive and helpful and my guests were able to easily call to book within the block. This hotel was clean, beautiful and let me put up a welcome sign and welcome bags at the front desk for my guests!

We could not have been more pleased with finding Chesapeake Beach Resort & Spa for our wedding venue. Lori was so helpful throughout the planning process. The venue was beautiful, and the food was all very good! Lori was very responsive to emails, helped us find great vendors, and served as our coordinator for both the rehearsal and the wedding. The salon was also great! Very convenient that it was on site and the staff did a great job with my (and my bridal party) hair and make-up. The entire wedding day went smoothly thanks to Lori and the rest of the CBRS staff! I highly recommend Chesapeake Beach Resort & Spa.

My wedding weekend could not have been more perfect. Our out of town guests were able to listen to the live music on the beach Friday night! They used the slot machines and we even had our rehearsal dinner at the Rod n Reel restaurant. The dinner food was amazing! The ceremony and reception were 5 star. Thanks to Cheyenne Armstrong, our wedding went very smoothly. She even did such a beautiful job setting up my centerpieces! I was so relaxed all thanks to her! Highly recommend this venue and Cheyenne!!

The Chesapeake Beach Resort and Spa was an absolutely beautiful place to get married, and we had the wedding of our dreams! We got married this past weekend (8/6/16) on the beach location and it was so gorgeous. Our coordinator, Sara, worked with us to make sure everything we imagined was made a reality. Even more, she led our rehearsal and was there every step of the way with us on the day of. I was very impressed that she kept us on schedule while still keeping myself and my bridal party happy, from helping with set up to bringing us drinks right after the ceremony before pictures to coordinating plans with all of our vendors. We received so many compliments about the beautiful location and delicious food from our guests! I couldn't have asked for a better wedding day, and I'm so glad I chose to get married at CBRS! :)

My husband and I had our reception at the Chesapeake Beach Resort and Spa and we are so thrilled that we did! The wedding coordinator, Lori, was awesome to work with and very professional. Whenever my mom and I needed to stop by for last minute details, she was always very accommodating and helpful. The venue was beautiful and Lori made my vision come true. I would recommend this venue to anyone who is looking for a wedding venue, it is absolutely breathtaking and your wedding photos will turn out perfect!

Wow, where do I even begin? This venue was incredible. Lori was our wedding planner and was amazing throughout the wedding process. She was extremely flexible and easily reached for any questions or planning inquiries. The planning process was extremely organized to make it an ease for us to decide exactly what we wanted, from food selection down to the color of napkins and placement of tables. Lori ensured that the venue was set up exactly as we envisioned and managed the reception all the way until the bride and groom send off to ensure that everything was perfect. We chose steak and crab cakes for dinner and they were phenomenal. People are still talking about how good the food was! The steak was cooked perfectly and the crab cake was superb. Lori communicated with all vendors so that the actual wedding day was seamless with absolutely no effort from my husband and I. The venue itself was gorgeous. We were married in December but still got to enjoy being on the water with the large windows in the reception room. The docks provided the perfect setting for stunning pictures and the hotel provided the perfect place for guests to stay after the reception. We would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking!

My husband and I looked at a LOT of water-front venues along the Chesapeake Bay and surrounding areas when searching for a venue. Sara agreed to meet with us on a last-minute trip to the area. I was the type of bride-to-be who traveled to vendor meetings with a binder and two pages typed of custom questions for each stop. I had a very specific vision, and we wanted a venue where guests did not have to travel between ceremony and reception and could stay overnight if so desired. For a water-front venue with the "all-inclusive" feel that CBRS offers, we thought their pricing was very reasonable compared to others in the area. We booked our wedding at their annual bridal show to take advantage of the perks they offer for booking that day.

Throughout the planning process, I had a million questions about every detail, to the point where I knew I had already asked the same question, but couldn't find the answer in my emails! Sara was so patient and more responsive than I ever could have expected. We had our ceremony on the deck, cocktail hour at the Boardwalk Cafe, and reception in the Chesapeake Ballroom (downstairs). We had a lot of last-minute changes to table configuration, guest count, and even members of our bridal party. Sara and her team just rolled with anything I threw at them and didn't blink an eye.

The surrounding towns offer plenty to do - the Friday before our wedding, I went to a vineyard for wine tasting and my husband went golfing - CBRS offered all of the opportunities of a "destination wedding", just an hour from home. By the time our wedding day arrived, I got up in the morning and went to the yoga class out on the beach before getting ready with my bridesmaids in the our suite - execution just went so smoothly day-of. For me, a super detail-obsessed bride (with no wedding planner or outside day-of coordinator), to be able to trust that Sara and her team would pull it off was pretty amazing!! We couldn't have asked for more!

Chesapeake Beach Resort and Spa was amazing! We recently were married here and the staff, food, atmosphere, everything was perfect! We seriously couldn't have asked for a more perfect day!

Lori was our coordinator. She did an amazing job at organizing and ensuring everything was being set up properly and the day was running smoothly. She dealt with my crazy family and now crazy husband too! ... he was a bit of a "Groomzilla". Regardless she made everything work out.

Chef Joe was the chef for the night and we have received so many compliments on the food! Everything was great and prepared perfectly.. even for me the picky eater!

So glad we chose Chesapeake Beach Resort to host our big day! Everything was perfect!

Lori our wedding coordinator was AMAZING! Despite many challenges with the weather and other vendors she was a consummate professional and made our day so special. The food was out of this world, our families have not stopped raving about the crabcakes and the size of the cocktail shrimp. The hotel accommodations were very nice and our complimentary room for our wedding night was waiting with champagne and chocolate covered strawberries! So wonderful! The beach wedding venue is so picturesque and provides a great atmosphere for dinner and dancing under the stars.

Our wedding could not have been more perfect, thanks to Lori and all the staff at Chesapeake Beach Resort & Spa. From the first day that we met with Lori and expressed our ideas, she worked tiredlessly to assure everything fell into place. Our rehearsal dinner and wedding day were flawless. Our guests continue to remark that our wedding venue was gorgeous, scenic, and that our reception had "the best wedding food ever!". A big thank you goes out to Nancy, who tended the bar for us. What a beautiful person she is! Everyone loved her. Scott and I are planning on renewing our vows on our 5th anniversary, and you can bet we'll be holding the celebration at Chesapeake Beach Resort & Spa!

We had our rehearsal dinner, wedding ceremony and reception at the Chesapeake Beach Resort & Spa. We really enjoyed the convenience of having everything in one spot- including the hotel! We had our rehearsal dinner in the Rod n Reel restaurant, the food was great and they had cute menus that matched our wedding theme for the dinner. We did not feel rushed and had the chef come up to us to make sure everything was going well. Lori was our wedding coordinator and she was fabulous! Very helpful and was quick to respond to all of my questions. She set up the reception beautifully and was there to help coordinate rehearsal as well. She kept things on track for the ceremony and timeline for the reception. I did not feel nickel and dimed by this venue, they really try to help to provide the best they can even with varying budgets. The scenery is very pretty, we got married under the wedding dome and our pictures are absolutely gorgeous with the water behind us. Our reception was in the Chesapeake Ballroom with huge windows that over look the water making for a really pretty setting for dinner. The food was SO GOOD. We did the buffet which included many options for our guests and they were able to serve themselves how little or much they wanted. I'm so glad my groom and I took the time to sit and enjoy the delicious food we had chosen! After the reception we moved to the outdoor bar at the Boardwalk Cafe and continued to celebrate! The only downside is if you want a very private ceremony as it is a public spot so individuals on their boats or at the restaurants on property can watch what is happening but that was not an issue for us, it was fun to have so many people congratulate you and everyone was very respectful and quiet during our ceremony. I'm so glad we chose this spot for our wedding and it will always be a special place we can continue to visit.

Spectacular! My daughter's wedding took place on September 6, 2015 at Chesapeake Beach Resort and Spa. Our Wedding Planner, Sara was delightful to work with. Sara, was always available to address our questions or concerns. The venue - beautiful, food - delicious and hotel - clean, relaxing and meet all of our expectations.

The ballroom was decorated beautifully and met all of our requests. The food spectacular - our guests are still talking about the venue and food - and that they would like to have or had their children's wedding at this resort.

Again, hats off to Sara and her team and to Chef Rudy for the delicious food!

This was a perfect venue for my wife and I! The staff was great and the outdoor beach area for the ceremony was amazing! We received so many comments about how great the food was too! It's a great venue especially if you don't want to relocate for the reception because you can have both at the resort.

Scott and I cannot say enough wonderful things about Lori and the staff / accommodations at Chesapeake Beach Resort & Spa. Our wedding was everything we had envisioned. Lori worked with us without hesitation throughout the entire planning of the wedding, and on the wedding day we could not have asked for a more competent and professional support person. And, there could never be a more joyful person than Nancy, who tended bar for us and provided incredible personal attention to each and every guest. Our family and friends are still talking about the wedding. "Best wedding food I've ever tasted" was one family member's comment! We're considering renewing our vows here next year!

Our wedding was absolutely BEAUTIFUL. Our guests loved the venue so much that they said they'll be coming back! The honeymoon suite was breathtaking and so clean. Jessica In the salon did such an amazing job on mine and my bridesmaids hair. She was so personable and made sure we got what we wanted and more. Our wedding coordinator lori was awesome. She made sure everything went smoothly and didnt hesitate to help us with anything. She made sure our day ran smoothly. The ceremony and reception were BEAUTIFUL and the food was so delicious! Everyone raved about it. So thank you chesapeake beach resort and spa for making our wedding dreams come true!

The place was perfect , romantic and elegant everything around from hair salon to beach to inside reception the staff was professional, nice , helpful and perfect they made sure all the guests are having a good time including the three kids , special thanx and appreciation to Lori middlen she was so sweet from the beginning to the end , she brought my bouquet of flower to the room as she make sure that I got the room to dress in with my 2 bridesmaid she was awesome a valuable employ and person

They did a wonderful job. Very beautiful setting, and the rooms we booked were perfect. We also used the salon for our hair designs, they were wonderful. The booking of the spa appts. were easy. The room we boked for the night was great.

CBRS was the best location we could have picked for our wedding. It's right on the Chesapeake Bay, so the views were stunning. They have an outside ceremony location and two reception rooms, and outside deck bar that you can use for cocktail hours, plus a spa and full hotel so you can do everything in one spot and not be running around on your wedding day! Most of our guests were traveling from far away, so it was important to us to have the hotel right there. We stayed for three nights, Thursday to Sunday, and had the time of our lives! Because we had so much going on at the resort, I worked A LOT with the wedding coordinators there, and their team is AWESOME. They do weddings all the time and they really know what they're doing. We worked mainly with Sara, who was so responsive to my probably hundreds of questions, and really made sure everyone was where they needed to be and when that weekend. She was especially great at putting up with my crazy mother. :) They set everything up perfectly at all three locations, ceremony, outdoor cocktail our, and indoor reception, and the transition between each was seamless. Sara was with me all day, carrying my dress everywhere! They even gave us champagne and strawberries in our room that night! Everyone at the hotel was super nice and helpful. And then spa... how amazing! They did all of our hair and my makeup - you can order food from their restaurants right to the spa which was great so you don't starve while you're getting ready. The food is quite good - their crab ball appetizers are out of this world! They really made sure me and the groom had plenty to eat (and drink!) at the reception. They also have an AMAZING Sunday brunch in their main restaurant that many of our guests went to the next day - just make sure to make a reservation because it's quite popular! Can't wait to go back for an anniversary someday!

I was extremely happy working with Sara. Sara was always pleasant and very responsive to my phone calls and emails. My wedding was suppose to be outside by it rained and Sara was quick to transpose the reception hall into the wedding chapel to say. Sara you deserve 5 stars. If you are looking for a simple, yet elegantly beautiful site for your wedding this is THE place! This was a second wedding for both of us and just needed a small space that didn't break the budget just for the venue. This was the only venue willing to work with us and actually listened to our needs before quoting a price. Which worked out great as this was my first choice anyway! The wedding staff is very attentive and easy to work with. Do yourself a favor and don't decide on an outdoor wedding venue until you have seen this place in person... it screams quintessential Beach Wedding

The Staff here are so very helpful and ready to make your day memorable on any budget. They provided a beautiful setting on the beach along with a large variety of a menu to have,. Wether there or next door at Smokey Joes> There are 2 rooms to choose from with a variety of times for you have your event.

Sara Lehner was our planner and she is so delightful and helpful I would recommend them to anyone.

We worked with Jayna on planning our entire wedding from start to finish. She was excellent in answering all my e-mails on time. She was great helping us during the rehearsal and the day of the wedding she was all over the place making sure our day was perfect. It was a great day and great party! We even had a rainbow show up over the water, couldn't get any better than that! ;-)

Jayna and Lori were great! Jayna was our main coordinator and was there every step of the way. She made sure the day of my wedding everything was perfect! When I entered into the ballroom it was setup perfectly and all i did was give them the items for centerpieces. They made a beautiful arrangement for my centerpieces.The food was fantastic, we couldn't have asked for anything more, the bartenders and all servers were great. We just wanted that the day didn't have to end. The spa was great, they did my (bride) makeup for the day. My makeup lasted all day and night I was even able to go back in for a little lip touch up right before I walked down the aisle. Definitely will be back to the hotel to stay as well.

Chesapeake Beach Resort and Spa is the dream "destination" wedding in the States. If you're going for the same vibe and experience of beach or relaxed wedding it's the place for you. I was impressed with the attention to detail the wedding coordinators provided who is managed by Lori Kirby, who is very professional and accommodating. The venue was beautiful, everything was organized, which made me a very happy and relaxed bride with no worries or concerns.

Definitely check out the Resort & Spa...it's a place where your dreams will come true and an affordable rate!!

CBRS was the perfect venue for our reception. Jayna Garner was the most incredible wedding coordinator who was there for my husband and I anytime through our wedding planning all the way through our wedding day. The location, food, and staff were phenomenal! The salon and spa staff were also amazing and did a fantastic job on hair and make-up for myself and my bridesmaids. If you love the Bay, want great service, and delicious food, I highly recommend choosing the CBRS!

The venue is the most breath taking venue I ever saw. We just had my daughters wedding there this past weekend 6-8-2013 an it was just an amazing place for an outside ceremony. The view is to die for. The reception was amzing as well. The food was the best food I have ever had at wedding and my guests agree.
Jayna our wedding coordinator was great and a real pleaseur to work with. She always knew how to come me and my daughter the bride. I would highly recommend this resort to get married. We loved it and couldn't have picked a more perfect place.

Fabulous! My ceremony & reception went off without a hitch. Lori and her staff were always responsive to my numerous questions. The food was great, better than what we had at the tasting. Our guests really enjoyed the food. Even the bellmen were super helpful in unloading and loading up our cars before and after the event. Everyone was always nice, helpful and courteous. The reception was set up exactly as I wanted, I didn't have to do anything. For the price in the DC area it was great and I highly recommend it. It's beautiful and you feel as if you're no longer in Maryland.

WOW! Lori and her team were fantastic in giving me the wedding day I had envisioned. Lori was always available for questions during our year long engagement and always was prompt with replies making me feel like I was the only bride that mattered. The quarterly menu tastings are delicious and really give you an idea of what your reception will look like. Lori ran the show for our rehearsal giving us options on how we wanted our processional, making sure everyone was on time, and ensuring the groom didn't sneak a peak before my walk down the aisle. Wouldn't change a thing!

My hubby and I were married here on 9/4/11, and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect day! Lori was extremely helpful throughout the year of planning; from flexibility (as my groom was deployed until a couple months before the wedding), to responsiveness (I always got a response back right away, even to my silly questions in quick emails!), to making the day go off without a hitch. She worked hand-in-hand with my planner, Megan and Rebecca, and we used a lot of the vendors she recommended without any hesitations! Even when we decided last minute to extended the party by an hour, there were no glitches!
The resort was absolutely beautiful- The gazebo wasn't there when we booked, and since we have moved out of state, I was extremely happy to see it when we arrived in town for the special day!
All of our guests had wonderful things to say about the food, the location, the reception... I am one lucky bride to have had such a perfect day! Thank you to everyone at the resort who made everything so special for us!!

From beginning to end, the process of having a wedding was made sooooo much easier by the staff at Chesapeake Beach! Our wedding coordinator, Lori, was so experienced, friendly, professional, and flexible. When I would have those random little questions here and there throughout the year leading up to my wedding, she always emailed me back right away. She was also able to offer tons of great tips and advice and made the whole process smooth. She was a pleasure to work with and made everything stress free!

I had my rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception at the resort. I have heard nothing but rave reviews about the food, the service, the scenery, and the reception room itself. Everyone had a great time and kept saying things "How did you find this great place?" and "I am telling my friend to have her wedding here!" I can honestly say that I am one of those lucky brides whose wedding went off without a hitch, and I think this is largely due to the hard work and professionalism of the staff at Chesapeake Beach Resort and Spa.

I also stayed at the resort in one of the deluxe suites. It was stunning!!! They went above and beyond to make the stay incredible and gave us all the little extras that made our stay special/ easy: chocolate-covered strawberries and champagne, make-up removing towelettes in the bathroom, etc. The hotel staff were incredibly friendly and helpful! One even wrote down the directions to the cake shop so I could return my rental items :)

Lastly, I also used the spa services (along with the bridal party). They did a beautiful job! You could tell that they took pride in their work and they tried really hard to give me exactly what I wanted for a look (and succeeded).

I could not be happier with the venue I chose!!!:)

We were very pleased with the Chesapeake Beach Resort and Spa. Our guests really enjoyed the venue and everyone thought that the food was great.

Our wedding coordinator, Lori, was really helpful. She did a rehearsal for us the day before the wedding. It was raining the day of the wedding and the ceremony had to be moved under cover near the fountain. Lori did a great job getting the chairs moved and keeping everything on schedule. She was keeping hotel guests that were not attending the wedding out of the way of the wedding ceremony and the pictures, which was really helpful. She kept my programs dry, which I really appreciated. She worked with our DJ to coordinate the order of events during the evening (and to get him setup out of the rain).

I would also like to say that the other ladies in the wedding/catering office at CBR&S were also really helpful.

It was great that the ballroom was available all day for me to get the decorations setup (flowers, favors, etc.).

Since CBR&S provides the food, the venue, the tables, etc., it really made my life easy. I also want to note that most of my vendors work with the CBR&S on a regular basis. I feel that this made my life easier, since the vendors were already acquainted with Lori and the venue.

My only complaint would be related to the Smokey Joes restaurant (where we took the after party). This is completely unrelated to the wedding services of Chesapeake Beach Resort and Spa, but Smokey Joes is owned by CBR&S. The service at Smokey Joes was really sub-par. I had friends who were insulted (myself included), food was not being delivered, the wrong food was being delivered. I would not recommend Smokey Joes for the after party.

Fabulous wedding weekend here in June 2011. Our guests enjoyed the laid-back, bayside ambience. They found the accommodations to be very comfortable and reasonably priced.

The staff was also very helpful and helped direct us to local vendors. They all worked together to help our day go off without a hitch.

The value was good for the price as well. The food was fantastic and there were many things included in the package - open bar, buffet, cocktail hour, champagne toasts, etc.

Very fun and stress-free weekend!

I can not give enough props to the Chesapeake. I recently had my July 4th wedding at this location and my guests are still raving about it. I will be honest, we randomly picked the location and ended up with the best ceremony and reception that we could ever imagine. With a little over a year to plan, Lori Kirby-Medlin and Mary Donovan were unbelievably responsive with my thousands of email requests. They worked with us to give the exact look and feel that we were going for. We had our wedding the weekend of July 4th which was perfect, I was a little nervous since the area holds a big holiday celebration but I wouldn't have wanted it any any other way. We had our rehearsal dinner on Saturday at the Boardwalk Cafe, we had our own area for the wedding party and were able to enjoy the bands and the crowd, not only that but we had a perfect view of the fireworks display. The following day was the ceremony and the reception. It was absolutely everything that I wanted, Lori managed the guests and the wedding party so well, and helped me get my bearings before walking down the aisle :) The food from the Rod and Reel was delicious, and the service was amazing. I would highly recommend this location to anyone who is looking for an outdoor ceremony, great food, and excellent service. Most of our guests couldn't get enough of the place, which was wonderful, there was so much for them to do that we didnt have to worry about making sure they were entertained for the entire weekend! A lot of folks have already told us that they have recommended other friends and families to have weddings there and also are planning family reunions. I am in the middle of taking a poll to see how many folks would go back next year to help celebrate our 1 year anniversary with us! I am looking forward to going back real soon :)

I had the most amazing wedding experience at CBRS. First, I want to say that the wedding coordinators, Mary, Lori, (and Carrie) were so good to us. From the first meeting when we booked, we were treated with respect, professionalism, and kindness. Lori, especially, went out of her way to make sure our wedding was a fabulous event. The food is fantastic...I am so glad we went to the tasting because I was too excited to eat much at the actual reception, but everyone raved about the food. The hotel stay was fantastic...many of our guests had booked rooms for the nights before and after the wedding and everyone had such a fun time. The views of the Chesapeake are breathtaking. The ceremony location is gorgeous right on the water, and the reception is indoors only a few steps away. I am so happy that we chose Chesapeake Beach Resort and Spa as our wedding location.

My husband and I really wanted to have a destination wedding but it was important to us to have all of our friends and family there. I have a grandmother (86) and great uncle (92) that just would not of been able to fly. This location offered everything we wanted (a wedding outside on the beach). I didn't have a problem with responsiveness. Mary seemed to respond to me in a timely manner. The food was amazing. My guest kept telling me they had been to many weddings and the food is usually ok but the food at your wedding was great. We had the steak and crab cake and then a chicken dish.

Mother nature did not cooperate with us on the day of our wedding. It poured :( Mary gave me up until 30 minutes before the ceremony to decided if I wanted to have it inside the ballroom (where the reception was held) or to have it out front by the water fountain. The rain stopped just long enough for us to get married outside. Though it was not on the beach like we wanted it was still beautiful.

We did a lot of shopping around and Chesapeake Beach Resort and Spa gives you so much for your money. Yes it does seem a little pricey at first but look around and start adding everything up..the resort just offers so much more. Though I do agree since you are spending so much money there they should give the bride and groom the bridal suite for free. However when we arrived in our room that night there were champagne and chocolate covered strawberries waiting for us.

All of my girls, my mom, mother-in-law, and myself had our hair and makeup done. They did such a wonderful job. They let us bring food and champagne into the salon. My hair looked amazing and never fell.

I am so happy with my wedding. It was everything I could of dreamed for and Mary and her staff did a wonderful job!

Great cake, just what I had asked for - amazing flavor and super moist. Decoration of the cake customized to match wedding colors and flowers. Still tasted great when we tried a piece on our first anniversary!

This venue was beautiful. If you want a ceremony with a stellar and magical scene (provided the weather works out - which it almost always does based on their location) this is your venue. On the western side of the bay bridge helps too if you have family that won't need to worry about accidents or bay bridge traffic. The food was terrific and the reception staff were very pleasant. Lori (the point person) was absolutely perfect. Period.

My husband and I couldn't have been happier with the final results of our weddings. Both the ceremony and reception sites were breathtaking. We completely lucked out with the weather, it was only 80 degrees with a nice breeze (which for a July wedding is a miracle). Lori and Kandi were a pleasure to work with. They were both very responsive to ALL of my questions and Lori was there the day of to help alleviate any issues that occurred.

The only complaints we had were with the hotel part of the resort. For some reason the catering and hotel are very separate and for anything hotel related (reservations, shuttle, etc) we had to go directly through them (which was a pain in the butt). They were not very proactive in responding to us (we had to call and leave several messages before receiving a call back). We had difficulty changing some of the room reservations and making the shuttle reservations. Then the day of the wedding the shuttle was waiting at the wrong hotel which caused some of our guests to be late.

Besides those few minor complaints everything was perfect and we would highly recommend this place to anyone interested in getting married on the Bay.

Lori and her staff were amazing! Lori made my wedding day stress-free and all of the planning leading up to the big day was smooth. I always had confidence that everything would be exactly how I wanted it, even while planning from 2 hours away. We got so many compliments on how awesome our wedding was, and I largely thank Lori and her staff for that!

CBRS is a great location and has an amazing staff. Sara went above and beyond from the moment we first toured the site all the way through our ceremony and reception, and even after helping track down some left behind items. The water front environment was everything we dreamed of and we could not have had our special day be any more perfect. All our guests had a wonderful time and kept commenting how great it was to have all the activities sites (ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, and hotel) at one location. It made planning much less stressful which really helped us enjoy our day.

Sara was an absolute angel in planning our wedding! She was my favorite part of the entire CBRS experience. She was always on top of her email, and during the ceremony and reception she was all over the place making sure we were taken care of! She was very professional and a genuine personality!

The hotel front desk didn't seem to be the most put together, which is why I took half a star for quality of service and value. We stayed in the King Suite for the evening of the wedding, which was an additional $250 on top of the credit we were already given for a free room because we were getting ready there. It is a little overpriced, our room was not ready when they said it was going to be. But other than that, it was a pleasant stay.

We just had our wedding on 9/24/11. I am beyond happy with how our day went. Lori and Kandi were their to help throughout the entire process by answering my many questions on the phone or through email. They were always quick to respond. They were both excellent on our day, especially Lori who took such good care of us and made sure everything went smoothly. I would highly reccommend having your wedding there and you wont be dissappointed.

Getting that first appointment at Chesapeake Beach was a little tricky, but booking the place and working with Lori and Kandi was easy. They respond well to e-mails, they give great advice, and they were very flexible. They helped me to create a perfect menu. They only do a few tastings a year, and it's in large groups. This makes it less personal, but on the other hand, the Resort treats it like it's a real wedding, so it's fun to see how the ballroom looks and feels, in addition to tasting meals. And you get to taste not only entrees, but also the crudites, champagne, appetizers, and other desserts. I personally was not a fan of their foods in the buffet, but their sit down dinners were great-- we chose the filet and the crab cake with stuffed chicken and then served a portabello mushroom for a vegetarian dish and had a children's dinner option. We got RAVE reviews about the food.

My FH and I are so happy and thrilled to be getting married at this resort. We fell in love when we went for a tour and signed the contract right away. Sarah, our coordinator, has been stellar to work with and we appreciate her being so patient and candid with us throughout the process so far. The Bay-view room was a bit smaller than expected for our numbers (about 80), but the service was great and the food was awesome! The view from the hall was breathtaking and the resort was a great location for additional pictures after our ceremony at a local church. The staff worked with us and arranged to set up the decorations for us, which was perfect for our day. They truly worked hard and succeeded in making our dream wedding a reality.

It was a pleasure working with Sara and the rest of the team at Chesapeake Beach Resort & Spa. Our ceremony was gorgeous, outside overlooking the pier and bay. We got some beautiful pictures on the beach area, made it look like we were somewhere exotic. The food was delicious, and the staff was extremely pleasant. Sara put up with our last minute changes and requests and answered our questions by phone and email even after duty hours. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day and beautiful memories that made our dreams come true.

Chesapeake Beach Resort & Spa were fantastic! Our family and friends drove and flew in from the four corners of the world to our wedding. The Resort took great care of them and accomodated make up and hair styling for us as well.
My wedding co-ordinator, Sarah, was a wonderful assistant. She and the resort were very professional!
I recommend Chesapeake Resort & Spa to any couple wanting a bayside wedding. The dome was our most tresured feature. Thank you to all the staff who made our day special.

The perfect place to get married! The Chesapeake Beach Resort (CBR) AKA The Rod and Reel was a great wedding location. CBR hooked me up with a wedding coordinator, which was included in the cost of the venue, to help organize everything from start to finish! Mrs. Lehnen was on the ball at all times, returning phone calls and emails as fast as I could send them. She was very receptive to me, treated me with respect at all times and always had a smile on her face! What I wanted was a ceremony, reception all in one kind of place and I definitely found that here. The catering/food was all included in the price as well as table linins, napkins, silverware and servers. The food was SPACTACULAR!!!! I only heard wonderful comments about the food! Also we had an incredible bartender that all of our drinking guests loved and raved about! The only downfall would have to be the on site CBR hotel, which was way over priced and the staff was not friendly to my guest. I did not personally get this treatment, however I felt the need to mention it as more than one of my guests complained about the staff. On a good note, CBR offers seated dinners throughout the year to the couples who book with them and feed you top quality food, while also setting up a meet and greet with vendors that help make a wedding complete! The buffet breakfast at the hotel the morning after was a little pricy but personally I thought it was worth the money, so good! I would recommend CBR to family and friends for future events.

Chesapeake Beach Resort and Spa is a wonderful wedding venue. Everything is right there which made all the difference in the world. They were very accommodating for our requests and made this stressful event a breeze. We worked with Jayna Garner, the Wedding Coordinator there and she was AMAZING! It truly would have been significantly more difficult had she not been there every step of the way. She ran the rehearsal and told everyone where to be and when to go. She was also able to accommodate us as far as drinks go. My husband and I were not particularly fond of the drinks that were included in our package. We shared our thoughts with Jayna and she made our favorite wine and beer available for only us with no additional charge. Also, what we requested was waiting for us at out seats when we finally came into the room. All of the staff at the resort was very respectful and helpful. The only downside was that they don't have a room specifically designated as a bridal getting ready room. We had to rent a room for this purpose. It was the best room they had and it was definitely large enough for me and my 4 bridesmaids, 2 photographers, 1 videographer, various parents, and other people who just happened to be there. (It also wasn't bad that there was a jacuzzi just big enough for 2 if you know what I mean!!!)

Our decision to have our wedding at Chesapeake Beach Resort and Spa was a GREAT one. Lori was very helpful and helped the day go smoothly. I was worry free that day and it was just perfect.

I received so many comments from our guest and family from the comfortable rooms, the friendly staff, the tasty food, and how convenient it was to stay and party at the same place.

The resort was very accommodating and Karaoke at the Bar after the reception made the night.

Before making your decision on a venue...I would suggest that you visit Chesapeake Beach Resort and Spa.

The Chesapeake Beach Resort & Spa took care of us from the moment we stepped foot on the property. I truly felt like I was the only event occuring there during that Holiday weekend, even though they had multiple events going on. The hotel staff were very courteous and helpful. Mary, the event coordinator, was exceptionally helpful, especially when our officiant did not show to the rehearsal. Our entire wedding weekend went so smoothly and I was able to enjoy myself knowing that everything was taken care of and set up exactly the way I wanted it.

We booked our wedding at CBRS because we loved the location on the water and the fact that you could have the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception all onsite. We worked mainly with Sara throughout our planning process, who was extremely responsive and accommodating with our many questions and changes of plans from start to finish. Our wedding was absolutely beautiful and went very smoothly. We have received so many compliments from guests about the venue, especially about the food! Overall we were VERY happy with our rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception at Chesapeake Beach Resort. Our planner, Lori, was very attentive and took care of all the details for us. We were there Labor Day weekend, so they even had live entertainment during our outside rehearsal dinner and wedding cocktail hour. I didn't have to worry about a thing...when we went to set out the menus, favors, etc after getting our hair done we were so pleased to see they had already done it for us. The room was beautiful (especially our flowers done by Kim at Fantastic Floral Events). We had the white chairs which really makes the room (which is an upgrade). The food was amazing-two months later our guests are still telling us how much they loved the food (we did the station package number one and it was plenty of food) especially the fajitas and cream of crab soup. The guest rooms are fine, nothing spectacular but the views make up for it. The staff at the hotel aren't as happy to please and helpful as the wedding coordinators. And the spa was very expensive...I was happy with my hair but the bridesmaids needed some tweaking. The spa is beautiful though, with great views. Overall this place has great food and views and the staff was great. A little pricy, but that's what happens when you plan a wedding! :)

Our wedding was such a blast and this was largely due to the location. Chespeake Beach Resort & Spa really captures so much in a such a quaint little resort that it makes you feel like you're having a destination wedding (but only driving an hour to get there!) We wanted a beach wedding but didn't want everyone to have to travel too far, so living in the DC area, the Chesapeake Bay was a natural choice and we ended up finding so much more at Chesapeake Beach Resort & Spa than we had ever anticipated. The atmosphere was laid back and fun (but still elegant), the scenery was gorgeous (and made for excellent photos!!), and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating! Mary (the events coordinator) was always so happy to answer any questions or concerns and really made me feel so much more at ease as the day came closer. The best part was that her and the other staff members really seem to enjoy what they do and love helping you make your wedding everything you dream it to be! They gave us the utmost attention when our day arrived (they only schedule one wedding a day). And truly helped us make it personal to us and made sure everything ran smoothly. The banquet manager (I can't remember his name to save my life...) was also really great on the night of the wedding and made sure all our decorations were boxed up and good to go, and he even found little individual takeout boxes for our leftover cake when my family realized they had no clue what to do with it. Overall, the reception and ceremony were a little more expensive than we had hoped, but we found other ways to cut (in invitations, flowers, etc.) to make up for it. We got more comments about how delicious alllll of the food was and how beautiful the site was than anything else. In the end, I definitely think it was worth every single penny!!!

I also got my hair and makeup done by Emily at the spa and she did a phenomenal job!! I couldn't believe how beautiful I looked in the photos (I'm not at all photogenic) and I owe it all to her. The rest of the staff at the spa was great too. All of my bridesmaids and my mom loved their hair and they were really friendly and laid back and helped me stay at ease while getting ready.

Good Room Block for Wedding at Herrington on the Bay

My husband and I got married at Herrington on the Bay in June, 2019. Our family & wedding party stayed at the Inn at Herrington on the Bay which was fantastic and convenient, but it was not big enough for all of our guests so we needed a second hotel. The Chesapeake Beach Resort & Spa was pretty much the only option nearby so it was a slam dunk. We could reserve a room block 6 months out so I locked that in immediately. When our room block closed about a month before our wedding, a few hours after it closed we realized that some of our guests had still not booked their room in our room block so we called the Chesapeake and tried to get them added only to find that all of the rooms that were released had been booked up- in only a few hours! I was shocked by this, but they assured me that there were more room blocks opening up in a week for a wedding taking place at their venue that same weekend and as soon as the rooms were released, we should be able to snag them. They were right! Eventually, all of our guests were able to get a room, but it was a bit stressful for us. We reserved a shuttle to take guests to and from the Chesapeake and it worked out well. Communication with the hotel was a bit difficult at times - I found that the front desk was not on the same page with our room block coordinator about who was in the room block, who should get a welcome bag, if there was a shuttle for the guests, etc so would recommend they improve that flow of communication. But overall, very happy with the positive comments we received from our guests about the hotel- can't ask for much else!

My review is of the spa, as my ceremony and reception were held at Herrington on the Bay. I had a wonderful time preparing for the wedding: main/pedi and a knockout updo. The spa staff provide wonderful, reasonably priced services and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. Amie (sp?) made sure that not only did my hair look as I wanted it, but also assured that it didn't budge an inch after the long day and plenty of dancing.

Make sure you book your appointments (for yourself and your bridesmaids) well in advance if you're having a summer wedding!

The resort has beautiful views, right on the little beach, great ambiance, and clean and comfy rooms. The food was great. Our guests were very pleased with the quality and service. Thank you to the amazing wedding coordinator Lori for holding my hand through the whole process and thinking of everything we could possibly need or want (and then laying it all out for us on paper from the get-go so there were no surprises). Thanks also to assistant Joan for her work in making it happen. Those two were like magicians behind the scenes pulling it all together seamlessly, and they were ever-ready to help should any issue arise. They made sure our guests were comfortable and even set up the tables with the simple decorations I had brought and made everything look gorgeous. I seriously have nothing to complain about. Everyone had a great time and that's what we cared about most.

I had my reception here and it was just about perfect. They are a bit pricey, but provide your food, drinks, tables, linens, flatware, dishes and glassware. They offer a variety of sit down and buffet options that range from about $50 to $75 per plate (which includes the above mentioned provisions). Standard h'or doerves are provided with the buffet or sit down option including vegetables crudite, crackers, etc. You can also upgrade or add on other h'or doerves. You can select an open bar, open beer and wine, or cash bar. They have a nice sized dance floor in the middle and areas for the dj, cake table, present table, guest book table. They are pretty flexible and good about making your wedding day EASY.

We were married May 26th on the Beach the staff was outstanding and helpful. We decorated the beach area ourselves and put most of the trellis up is since the new staff was not sure how the do it. My only stress was prior to the wedding the wedding planner we booked with at CBR (Lori) left and the new girl was really not on top of anything for us . It took days to a get reply via email and usually it was a cut n paste from previous email. One of our guests that was a family member's ( same last name) didn’t realize we had booked them a suite for the weekend and it was vacant all weekend , yet the staff failed to inform us no one had checked into the room. Some guests found rooms much lower online than the rate we were offered and paid months prior to our wedding . We booked 8 rooms including 3 king suites. The rest of the staff was outstanding and our wedding was beautiful !! We were a little disappointed to not get any of our wedding cake though. While I was cleaning up the reception room they told me they would put the rest in a box for us. A half hour later when I asked for it they said they had thrown it out. Sorry....so only minor things really. Mostly all of the issues were with the booking staff . The banquet staff was wonderful. Mary Ann Rahall our officiating really helped make our ceremony special , she’s a real pro and I would gladly recommend her to anyone !!

I was not overly impressed with this location as far as a ceremony/reception LOCATION, but the catering services were excellent. The food was tasty and we had a wide variety to pick from (although, I believe that the choices have been limited since our wedding). The guests loved the food and our buffet style meal went very smoothly!

I used the spa for my hair and makeup, I also was able to get a trial run. I let the stylist do what seh thought would look good and it turned out great, even stayed in overnight and I didn't have to wory about if falling out. She also did a great job on my makeup making it looking very natural and not caking it on.

The wedding was amazing and beautiful. The food was wonderful and everyone said it was great. I love the scenery there and the place was quite affordable. The only thing that was overpriced were the hotel rooms. They were beautiful but really to pay almost $200 a night for a place in Chesapeake beach just seems a little ridiculous. Also I was told that my guests would get a discounted rate for being in the block and they ended up being the same price as any other guests coming on that weekend. Mary and Lori responded to my concerns almost always pretty quickly but on occasion it took a bit of time to get a response. The communication between the hotel staff and the coordinators could be a bit better as well. I can honestly say it was really a great experience and I am glad I had my wedding there. If there were any issues the day of I did not know about them and I had a beautiful day.

The wedding coordinator had issues with a few of our other vendors as well as some of our guests. She did not want to listen to others. Unfortunately, the wedding coordinator had missed prior appointments with us (due to her not showing up on time), so I feel that many things would have been worked out if she would have been there to discuss things or double checked necessary things during rehearsal.

This was a beautiful venue with great food. My only complaint was about the wedding coordinator.

The venue is beautiful and affordable (comparatively speaking) so I recommend it for others planning a wedding. It's great for a beachy theme. They only give you a 20 room block so you have to find other hotel accommodations for your guests which is slightly inconvenient. The salon is overpriced and they did a terrible job on my hair and makeup trial, so I had to hire an independent stylist last minute. They don't allow much time in between ceremony and reception for pictures unless you include a "cocktail hour" for an additional ridiculous amount of money. They book two weddings each day which is annoying. The chairs in the ballroom are hideous so they leave you almost no choice but to upgrade to white chairs for another ridiculous amount of money. Responsiveness of event coordinator was slow and they lost my cake top layer that they were holding in their freezer. Food was great. Overall, it was a lovely place and a great experience. There are just some small areas that were bothersome.

We were married at Herrington on the Bay but decided to have our hotel accomodations for our wedding party and family at Chesapeake. We also had our rehearsal dinner at Chesapeake's restaurant, the Rod N' Reel club.
We had a lot of problems with our wedding block. There were price issues as well as one of our bridesmaids didn't end up getting her room and she had to stay 20 minutes away. We were told she had a reservation and that it was squared away but that wasn't the case. That was the worst of our issues there.
As for the rehearsal dinner, we were told we would be allowed to come in a few hours in advance to decorate and that we could do whatever we wanted with the area we rented. However, on the day of they would only give us an hour to decorate and they were suddenly changing the rules on what we could and couldn't do as far as decorations.
We did get everything worked out in the end but it was frustrating how one person would tell us one thing and another would say something else.
Despite the hiccups and problems with the reservations and the restaurant we still had a really good time at Chesapeake. They did upgrade my room for free because of all the issues. Also, the food at the restaurant was really good and the hotel gave us a bottle of champagne as a wedding gift. The rooms are nice and comfortable and we enjoyed the restaurants and outdoor bar.
All in all it is still the best place you will find for accomendations in the area. There isn't a lot of options in the area and I still think this is probably the best option. The rooms and the food are a bit pricey, so we expected to have a much smoother experience.. but in the end it all worked out fine. You just have to really stay on top of them with the room reservations and ensure things are clearly stated in the contract.

I was thrilled to find this gorgeous venue on the water that was actually somewhat affordable compared to other venues on or near the water in the Annapolis area. Since our wedding though, their prices have skyrocketed, I believe. My first meeting with them went well, but once we booked, it was very hard to get in touch with people regarding our ceremony/reception. The responsiveness was very good during the week before the wedding (I had sooo many last minute questions!), but it would have been nice if it was like that all along. The ceremony was gorgeous and went off without a hitch (except for a boat starting up right before we were about to say our vows!!). The food was FANTASTIC and our guests had an amazing time at the reception. However, with the amount that it costs, they could do some updating to improve the overall appearance of the ballroom. In addition, even though you are shelling out thousands of dollars for the reception, they do not give you the bridal suite for free...they charge you $400 a night with a 2-night minimum to stay there!

We had our wedding here at the South Beach site, we booked both our reception and ceremony in January and a week before our wedding we receive a call that a huge concert would be taking place at the same time of our wedding but they would be on break while we said our vows. We were offered another site a few feet over but that wasn't what we paid for so I declined. During the ceremony, people from the concert came over and began taking our program fans, and were trying to take the chairs that were set up for our wedding. There should have been better monitoring or have the concert start at a later time. Another issue was how disorganized everything was from where we would get ready to serving the guest meals at the reception, at one point I had to find a server because one entire table had not received entrees while others were almost done their meals. Overall the venue is okay, the food was great, but for the amount of money we paid our wedding should have definitely taken precedence to a concert, and their needs to be a better system in place to get the staff on the same page.

This is a great all-in-one venue. The hotel is attached and is very nice, probably the nicest hotel I've stayed in in a long time. The ceremony site is beautiful with a marina in the background. The Chesapeake Ballroom space is large and well-decorated. The food was UNBELIEVABLE. Every guest complimented the crab soup and loved that there was such a variety and plentiful quantity of great-tasting food.

The only drawback was that the wedding coordinators on-site did not communicate very well with me. I found out the DAY OF my wedding that there was ANOTHER WEDDING on the same day, occurring 1 hour before mine. It screwed up my picture schedule and made things complicated for my guests. But, aside from that, I would highly recommend this venue.
