We cannot recommend Riverhouse Catering enough. We were late compared to other couples planning our wedding, with only about six months to pull everything together.
From our very first conversation, they were incredibly accommodating, organized, and easy to work with. They got us in for a tasting quickly and went above and beyond by preparing several appetizers we specifically requested that were not even part of their standard selections. As a Lebanese and Italian couple, we had a few particular ideas for food that our families would enjoy, and Chef Kevin and the entire team were willing to make it happen, down to using specific spices for the chicken. Everything we tried was better than expected.
The food on the wedding night was outstanding. We chose beef, salmon, and a vegetarian entrée, and our guests were genuinely raving about their meals. Everything was prepared perfectly. Our signature cocktails were delicious, and the staff made sure we had appetizers and drinks waiting for us immediately after the ceremony and throughout the night.
The service was just as exceptional as the food. Mary was amazing to work with from start to finish, especially with our shorter planning timeline. She kept us on track, was consistently professional, and made the entire process feel manageable. Donna, our day-of coordinator through Riverhouse, was also fantastic—so sweet, helpful, and attentive all evening.
They also helped make several special touches possible, including a roaming cannoli station where fresh cannolis were piped for guests throughout the night. Everyone loved it.
Riverhouse offers incredible value, exceptional food, and a truly professional team. There is a reason they were named 2025 Caterer of the Year by the Connecticut Restaurant Association. We would choose Riverhouse Catering again 110%.

I don’t even know where to begin with Riverhouse Catering. I truly cannot say enough good things about them. I didn’t hire an event coordinator, and they completely stepped into that role on top of being our full-service caterer and bar. Noora helped me plan and coordinate details for almost two years, and her guidance and organization were invaluable.
I was even able to make changes to numbers leading up to the day with no issues. On the wedding day, their entire team absolutely blew me away. They handled every detail seamlessly — even making the call on our ceremony location due to weather, waiting until the very last minute to give us the best possible outcome. Their professionalism, care, and experience are unmatched.
And of course, the food — incredible. Guests are still talking about the warm short rib meal! Riverhouse made our day so special, and I’m endlessly grateful for their dedication and expertise. -

Riverhouse Catering was WONDERFUL when working with us to plan our daughter's wedding! They were always prompt in responding to our questions, providing us with the necessary information, and in meeting with us. Their food was outstanding, and everyone at the wedding raved about it! Donna was on hand the day of the wedding, and was so supportive and helpful - beyond being a caterer! She even helped me bustle my daughter's wedding gown! I would recommend their services to everyone! -

We were very pleased with our experience working with Riverhouse Catering. For reference our event was held at the Glastonbury Boathouse. From the beginning they were so very helpful and accommodating. Noora always put us at easy and made the planning process easy. We had a serious food allergy and they were so good about accommodating it for our guest who really appreciated the extra level of care they took for her. Missy was our day of coordinator and she was fantastic! Missy and her team made sure my husband and I were taken care of the entire evening with drinks and food. They set up the tables, centerpieces, and extras perfectly! Their work all night long literally allowed my husband and I to just have fun and not have to worry about anything. Their prices were reasonable and the food was good! We highly recommend them for your catering needs! -

The food was incredible. The most important thing to consider, in my opinion, is the service. The Riverhouse staff was truly the best I could've hoped for. Noora was always quick to reply to any and all of our needs during the planning process. She provided us with wonderful organizational documents to keep our planning on the right track. Riverhouse worked with us on menu changes AND beer selections. Donna, Malachai, and Kristen on the day of our wedding were truly exceptional. Our officiant forgot that we had written our own vows, so as soon as my husband and I left the alter we felt frustrated, confused, and off-course. The team immediately responded to this mistake and made plans for us to read our vows before the reception. They communicated with our DJ and the rest of our vendors to rectify this mistake and make a plan. Donna truly made me feel safe and confident. During the reception it was almost as if I thought of something I needed or wanted and Donna was somehow already there & 2 steps ahead of me. I have never felt more comfortable during such a stressful and important time. Will be recommending them to everyone until I'm blue in the face. -

Riverhouse catering made our wedding wonderful! Mary was so professional and accommodating to ensure our wedding vision came to life. Riverhouse has amazing food, but they also offer so much more. We met with Mary multiple times leading up to our wedding to ensure any changes were made and all questions were answered. Riverhouse is easy to communicate with and comes with a team of true professionals. Definitely was a must-book vendor! -

I truly can not thank Mary, Donna and the Riverhouse Catering team enough for all they did to make our wedding perfect. If you are considering working with Riverhouse, do it! You will not regret your decision. The food was delicious (and very accommodating to guests with food restrictions) we received so many compliments from our gusts. Beyond that, their team's attention to detail and willingness to support in so many ways far exceeded my expectations. We held our wedding on a working farm - aka not your typical venue - which had potential to present challenges, but working with Riverhouse had the process of setting up the space and pulling off our dream wedding seem seamless and stress free. Thank you Riverhouse!! -

I just got back from my honeymoon and all I want to do is relive the awesomeness and perfection my wedding day. It was an absolute success because of Riverhouse Catering. They are a preferred vendor for the Glastonbury Boathouse. (In my opinion, they should be the number 1 vendor for catering and day of coordination.) From our initial call with Jim to working with Mary leading up to the Big Day and having Donna and Joe on the day of the wedding, Riverhouse Catering truly exceeded my expectations with their holistic approach in efficient and fast communication and most of all AMAZING FOOD!! They are more than just catering, they make sure your day is well-coordinated and that every detail is thought out well in advance. They are willing and enthusiastic to work with you and make your day exactly how you want it. They even accommodated guests with various food needs (allergies and religious restrictions). I cannot recommend them enough! Our guests are still commenting on how great the food tasted and how well everything went! Thank you so so much to the Riverhouse Catering Team! -

We really enjoyed our experience with Riverhouse! They were able to adjust to our guest count due to COVID and really worked to make sure the evening was special. They paid close attention to detail and made sure that were were happy with everything from our tasting to the venue walkthrough. The guest really enjoyed the food and raved about the ice cream bar!! Overall a really great experience! -

Riverhouse Catering knows how to make an outdoor, fall wedding in Connecticut feel like an effortless occasion for the married couple. We selected Riverhouse Catering via our amazing wedding planner – Diana Chouinard of Jubilee Events. From the tasting event with our parents to our wedding day, Kristen and Riverhouse Catering shined each step of the way. My husband and I fell in love with each bite of flavorful appetizers, entrees, and desserts. The bar staff and professional waitstaff made our night feel refined. BONUS: the happy couple has a dedicated attendant throughout the event to ensure you taste each bite and stayed hydrated. We highly recommend Riverhouse Catering for any off-site event, especially a fall wedding under a tent in Connecticut. -

RHC worked very well with us and answered our TEN THOUSAND questions. They responded quickly via email and on the day of the wedding they were most accommodating to my husband and I. We had a personal assistant, she helped with my dress, she got me plates, drinks and snacks. There is so much that goes into weddings, more than we realized and working with them was easy. Which is exactly what you need when dealing with everything else. I would recommend them and their food was a big hit with our guests. -

Our wedding was an absolute DREAM COME TRUE … in large part to Riverhouse Catering. From the very beginning of the planning process their staff, in particular the Catering Sales Manager, Kirsten Perchout, was incredibly helpful. I tend to be very detail oriented and always had a ton of questions and our countless emails were always answered promptly with thoughtful responses. She guided us through the entire planning process and offered great suggestions to really personalize our special day. Subsequently, our wedding day was perfect – without one misstep. The day-of staff was so incredibly helpful, and led our event with professionalism and precision. Ashley, Louise, and the rest of the day-of staff made sure my husband and I, along with our wedding party had plenty of food and drinks while we took pictures during the cocktail hour as to not miss out on any of our festivities. They were attentive, organized, and kept our event on track! There is not one negative thing we can say about Riverhouse Catering, we will forever be grateful to them for helping us create an unforgettable wedding experience! -

Kirsten handled all our planning, Jake was our event captain, and Della was the wonderful staff member who attended to my husband and me all day. The three of them, along with the entire staff were absolutely wonderful. The food was AMAZING, and our guests could not stop talking about the professionalism and attention to detail from this company. Riverhouse really helped make or fairytale wedding all the more memorable. I could sit here all day saying nice things, but I can simply say USE THEM! You won't regret it!!!! -

My husband and I worked with Kirsten and Riverhouse Catering to hold our wedding at the New Britain Museum of American Art this summer. They were amazing! From our very first phone call, we were so impressed by their professionalism, attentiveness, and flexibility. Kirsten met with us multiple times during the planning stages, and always followed up with emails about what needed to happen next. She also responded to all of our (many) emails and phone calls about various details and questions, and was always thorough and clear in her replies. Even when we got flustered or forgot something, Kirsten was always on top of things, and made us feel completely confident that everything would be taken care of .
And the wedding itself: WOW! As soon as we entered the museum, we were blown away by how beautiful it all looked. Everything was done so professionally and with such elegance. And all of the staff were really fantastic. Jake ensured that everything ran smoothly, and we had a personal attendant, Della, who took care of everything that we and our families needed during the night. Not to mention the food and drinks: absolutely delicious! And when we forgot some of our items in the rush to leave (we were celebrating up until the very end!), Jake met with us the next day so we could pick everything up. We cannot express how amazing it was to be able to just let go and have fun that night, with complete trust that everything was in excellent hands.
We received so many compliments from our friends and family on the wedding--some of them saying it was the best they had ever attended! It goes without saying that we would absolutely recommend Kirsten, Jake, and Riverhouse to anyone planning a wedding. We are so incredibly grateful to them all for putting together an evening we will never forget! -

They were both enthusiastic, attentive and flexible and helped us customize a menu using locally sourced ingredients. The appetizers and harvest table were abundant, the beer selection was strong and everyone loved their meal, including my very picky grandma! Della was our bridal attendant and made sure everyone was comfortable, happy and well fed. We would definitely recommend Riverhouse to other couples planning their big day!

Throughout the planning stage, Evan helped us to get organized and open to our creative ideas on decoration. On our wedding day, she stayed and hugged us before the ceremony started, which was a pleasant surprise as she wasn't the coordinator assigned onsite. Our guests enjoyed the food and they were amazed at how awesome the service was. The decoration turns out even better than I expected. I would recommend their service to any couple, especially those who want to create an unique wedding experience.

User2964881 Sent on 02/02/2017On October 1, 2016, we exprienced the most amazing event of our lives. It was the marriage of our daughter to a wonderful young man. The young couple had the desire to be united within an atmosphere that celebrated their happiness. Their wedding was themed as a retro carnival under the red top. There were games and a barber shop quartet. The decor was beautiful. But what tied everything together and truly set the joyous atmosphere up to really establish the theme was the catered menu by Riverhouse Catering.
The food was amazing. The chefs were creative and thoughtful. The staff were so helpful and efficient. Everytime we see someone who attended the wedding, we get great compliments. I have had a couple of people ask me for Riverhouse Catering to cater for their events.
Our catering director was Dana Montanari. I can not say enough about how helpful Dana was. She was easy to work with before, during and after the wedding.
The morning after the wedding, we had a brunch with a New Orlean's theme. This celebrated the city the our newlyweds were engaged in. We thought the wedding food was amazing. Well the brunch was a knock your socks off fare. It was magnificent from soup to nuts. Even the bar was themed with the Big Easy drinks.
I would recommend Riverhouse Catering to anyone who wants an event to remember forever. I will always have the fond memory of how above and beyond Riverhouse and Dana went to make our day so special.

Pamela Sent on 10/22/2013I can not say enough about Debbie, Keith (my Captain) and the rest of the staff at Riverhouse catering. They provide top notch service 100%. The food is amazing. I had event planners as guests at my wedding and they all commented how they have never tasted such delicious food. They couldn't believe it was catered.
The staff is attentive and professional. In addition, the table setting was gorgeous, the extras such as the harvest table and stations were stunning and delicious as well. Debbie also asisted by arranging for chivari chairs, flatware, etc. rentals. The cake was a different vendor (also delicious!) but packaged into the price.
The next day, the venue contacted us and commented how immaculate the place was left. The Riverhouse staff cleaned and tidied up as if nearly 200 people had never been there the night before.
In summary, your guests will get high class service and dining at a very reasonable price if you chose Riverhouse. The value is incredible.
