Ricki was my true partner in crime during my wedding planning process. She stepped in as a surrogate mom - joining me at my dress appointments, sharing her own wedding stories and experiences, being available to talk at a moments notice, responding quickly to every email and text. Without her, the process could've felt quite lonely and overwhelming. She was always game to hear new ideas and brainstorm how to make them happen. She dealt with my Type-A personality with finesse. I Loved working with Ricki.
It felt like I was working with a wonderful family member who was totally on my side and organized. She loved my wedding theme and she came up with all sorts of ways to make the event absolutely perfect for me. I wanted it to feel like a fairy tale and she helped with every aspect. Her recommendations for alterations on my dress turned out beautifully, her ideas for the floor plan and the table placement was elegant and the team that she brought to set up for the day were so sweet and helpful. I will be forever grateful for how she managed the cost and dealt with added people and how she handled my fiance. It was brilliant. The whole day was gorgeous.

We met a few times before the wedding, and her suggestions—like adding soft candlelight, thoughtful cake utensils, and charming table number displays—made a real difference in the atmosphere. She was incredibly responsive over email for weeks leading up to the event, and her organization and experience gave us peace of mind. My now husband, Ken and I recently got married at our home in West Hollywood, CA. We had a bad experience with our first wedding planner but were blessed to have discovered Ricki Lewis, of Ricki Lewis Events, who thankfully became our wedding planner extraordinaire! From the moment we hired Ricki, she was hands on all the way from start to finish. Ricki was always available, extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of wedding planning (in our case a gay wedding), professional, creative and always a pleasure to work with. Getting married at our home (with 50 plus attendees) can bring its own unique challenges, but she literally transformed our home into the wedding of our dreams – implementing exactly the design, vibe and look we had imagined and more. Ricki created a fully designed floor plan, to scale, that included intricate details that we would have never thought to include. Further complicating matters, my husband and I reside in Washington, DC most of the year, but Ricki was a lifesaver and took care of so many things that would have made it impossible for us to do being so far away. Her attention to detail is impeccable. Her vendor recommendations and relationships are the best of the best – florist, DJ, photographer, catering, candles (over 300 of them) and more– she made it all seamless. When it comes to last minute issues that inevitably come up, she is on it immediately and miraculously makes it happen (like creating personalized framed specialty drinks signs hours before our wedding, as well as handling countless other last-minute details).
Ken and I are so appreciative of Ricki and her very talented team. They are the absolute best in the business, and she is the reason our wedding was the dream wedding we both experienced. Ricki Lewis Events deserves more than 5 stars, and we recommend Ricki and Ricki Lewis Events without hesitation – you will be in the best of hands! Thank you, Ricki and Team!

Hiring Ricki saved us so much headache on our wedding day! She specializes in South Asian weddings and understands the customs and important details. We had a two day event and both days she went above and beyond to try to help us with any of our needs. We spent about 8 months planning with her and she was very organized with everything and very prompt with her communication. Special Event Genie is the best! We saw Ricki in action at a friend's wedding; when we saw how smoothly everything went, we knew she was the wedding planner for us.
Ricki helped us with all the planning; from our first meeting to the last minute detail, she was there for us. When our original wedding date was postponed by the pandemic, she worked with the venue and all the vendors so that we could pick up where we left off when restrictions were lifted.
She made sure our wedding was the special day we wanted. She asked questions, made suggestions, gave us the benefit of her expertise freely. She was tireless in getting the details the way we wanted them. Her planning application was a real advantage here - she laid the key points of the day out in schematics, revising them as the rules of social distancing changed so we knew how every moment would look. It was easy to ask the "what would happen if we..." kinds of questions, because she could show us the answers. We didn't have to guess or imagine - we could see it!

Ricki was so wonderful! She was very prompt with answering calls, texts, and emails. Anytime I needed help with any questions she was quick to assist me. She accompanied me to some of my appointments and helped me with my dress fitting problems. She also developed a timeline for our wedding and incorporated each vendor’s role within the timeline. We loved the diagrams she provided us with, which ultimately painted a picture of how everything would go. There were items I forgot to bring, but this was not a problem because Ricki happened to have everything we needed in her wedding planning tool belt!! The rental company vendor did not set-up our sweetheart backdrop like they were supposed to, so she sprung into action and arranged to have them come all the way back and set it up. I will say that I was VERY particular with the wedding decorations and this was the part I was most concerned with....Well Ricki exceeded our expectations and made everything look even BETTER than we had imagined it. Our wedding day went smoothly thanks to Ricki and her team, and this what made everything so much more enjoyable and special for us.Ricki Lewis Events's reply:

We hired Special Event Genie only five weeks before our wedding because we needed to feel organized about how we were planning all the finishing touches and details.
We were most impressed that she was so easy to work with, flexible with her time and came to our home twice to give ideas as well as assist with assembly of the centerpieces and favors.
Ricki immediately understood our vision for the look and feel we wanted to create, showcasing our love of all things Gold!
She even drew up full color, to scale floor plans for all scenes of our wedding using her own app!
Ricki understood our budget and came up with creative ways to do things that only looked expensive.
We were also impressed with the detailed and most organized timeline and other documents she created for us.
And we felt very comfortable working with her because she totally understood our culture and traditions.
Her team was totally hands on making sure the evening went smoothly.

We hired Ricki Lewis of Special Event Genie for our wedding.
We really did not want to wait the usual 9 to 12 months of planning.
Once we were granted permission to have our wedding USC, we called Ricki.
This was only six weeks before our wedding date!
Ricki totally shared our vision of the look and feel of our wedding decor.
She designed our invitations and RSVP management!
She even went out of her way to walk the entire University to make sure all departments had the required permits approved and all money was paid.
Ricki and her team stayed the entire day, to make sure everything went smoothly from start to finish.
We cannot say enough about her attention to detail and to our individual needs.
Her resources for the dress, the music and the lighting were wonderful.
She has a can-do attitude and never gives up.
We could not have done this without her guidance and assistance every step of the way.

SEG helped make our wedding a success! It was beautiful yet budget-conscious. Her scope of srvcs was far broader than the other planners we met yet she was affordable. She negotiated w/our vendors & many gave us discounts due to her relationships w/them. W/1 exception we were pleased w/her vendors. She ran countless errands for us, joining me at dress appts, visiting sev. venues on our behalf, & making many trips to our chosen venue to check on things. She made frequent trips to the flower mart, even picking me up from work on her way (when I couldn’t join her she vid chat/sent pics). As an architect I loved that she could communicate the layout of the event spaces thanks to her proprietary software that generated to-scale floor plans of each area; not only did these plans help us visualize the space but they also gave us comfort knowing the rental ppl would know exactly how we wanted things. Being a perfectionist/DIYer I was a very hands-on bride but SEG was always avail. when needed; from the day we signed w/her we were in constant communication by phone/txt/email. Over the months we wrkd w/her she ensured we hit milestones on time, warning us when invites should go out & following up to ensure we were mtg deadlines. She had to act as both planner & decorator as we had no florist (all the décor was DIYed). She sent her van to my house to get loaded w/décor the night before; the next morning she & her team got to the venue early to set everything up. The room looked as though a real florist decorated it! Another planner we interviewed wanted an extra $1k to set up the DIY décor! My critiques of SEG are 1)the way she timed the processional was too slow & 2)she missed the mark when it came to gathering our relatives for the family portraits, so the portrait session was chaotic/took too long. But once the party began everything went great. Ppl are still telling us what fun it was/how much they enjoyed the custom touches. We couldn’t have pulled off our vision w/o SEG!Ricki Lewis Events's reply:
