I cannot say enough great things about Rev Jay! He was amazing to work with from the first point of contact. After having our first conversation I knew he was the officiant for us. He was professional, yet very personable and passionate about what he does. Communication was great throughout the entire process and his client portal made everything so easy. He is so down to earth and made us feel comfortable leading up to and during the ceremony. He took the time to get to know a little bit about us and what we wanted and made our day truly magical. He exceeded our expectations and we would definitely recommend him as an officiant!! -

The professionalism and warmth that Rev. Jay brought to our wedding day were truly unforgettable. He is a professional through and through. He was the first vendor we contracted with for our wedding, and we could not imagine our day without him. He is thoughtful, kind, and an engaging person. I didn’t want our ceremony to end because he led it so well. We knew he was the choice for us after we both shed happy tears watching the videos on his website. We really appreciated his process of learning more about us. He provides helpful resources on his website to help you consider elements of your ceremony and choose the readings that best suit you. Having him take what he learned and hearing him put his thoughtful spin on it all was beautiful. Since I do not live locally to Rev. Jay, my first time meeting him was the morning of my wedding. He was as prepared as he said he would be, and he even provided ideas for us on the big day. We had a small wedding, and he included our parents in the blessing of the rings. They truly valued the chance to do that, and I am so happy he thought of it and ran it by me that morning. He kept us smiling, laughing, and crying throughout the ceremony. It was even more joyous than we could have dreamed of, and his uplifting words and sentiments will keep our hearts full forever when we look back on this day. He is the best and one of the most important choices you can make for your wedding. I am so honored that he worked with us. He really won us all over, and we will appreciate his part in our perfect day forever. -

I cannot express how grateful we are for Rev. Jay. He made our day SO special. And I have a bit of OCD so his organization really was a plus for me. He is super responsive! We laughed and we cried. Rev. Jay was fantastic. He traveled to Blowing Rock for our ceremony and incorporated just the right amount of humor and heart into our vows that we selected. He was very flexible to work with as we had to make last minute changes due to hurricane damage. We would highly recommend Jay.

The entire preparation process & the wedding ceremony were both excellent & flawless by reverend Jay! Originally, we were going to elope at Grandfather Mountain but Hurricane Helene changed our plans. He suggested Blowing Rock & it worked out perfectly!
Me & my wife cannot feel more blessed & lucky to have someone like him to minister our elopement wedding. All of our guests & wedding party members also enjoyed him. We were all able to hear him clearly because our wedding was outdoors. Thank you SO MUCH reverend Jay!!! -

Jay was absolutely amazing! We asked for a lightly religious ceremony that was about 30min, and he nailed it. He kept everyone laughing and engaged while still keeping our love as the focus. I knew I wanted to be married by the ocean at Corolla Beach NC, but being from PA I didn’t know where to start. I truly feel God guided me to Rev. Jay!!! He was extremely helpful and so genuine. He helped me connect with I Do OBX and they made every bit of my wedding unique and stress free.
Rev. Jay is the real deal, and you can feel his passion and that he truly enjoys what he does. He takes the time to get to know you and your partner prior to your big day. He sent us questions that allowed my husband and I to take time and think about what we loved about each other and why getting married mattered to us. You could tell by how he spoke at the ceremony that he truly absorbed who we were and he became a part of our story. The ceremony was not cookie cutter but tailored to us!
My husband was very nervous and Rev. Jay’s personality made him feel relaxed. We laughed, cried, smiled and laughed some more. Both my husband and I were missing family who passed and Rev. Jay honored them in the ceremony which filled our hearts with love.
Most of all I felt our union was blessed by God as we stood under the sunset he painted and the music of his waves.
Thank you Rev. Jay for taking such good care of me and my entire family. There are no words to truly thank you.

I’m honestly struggling to find the right words to describe just how amazing and perfect Rev Jay was for our wedding. After we met at the coffee shop 2 days before the wedding, I stayed calm because I knew in my heart we were in good hands. After a few short conversations, it felt like we had known each other for years. I genuinely was excited to see him before the ceremony, like he felt like he was an old friend of ours. Dewie and I have said several times since our wedding day that we can’t imagine another officiant for us - it had to be Rev Jay! So many of our family members have made similar comments. He is so comfortable commanding a crowd and inserts funny and sentimental moments throughout the ceremony to personalize it. He is so passionate and was absolutely the perfect fit to kick off our marriage and this beautiful next chapter for us! We are truly grateful to have found Rev Jay and can’t recommend him enough! -

Rev. Jay will always have a special place in our hearts.
I'll admit that being from out of town and searching for our wedding officiant online seemed odd at first. Compared to other wedding vendors, the officiant plays the most active and personal role in the wedding. However, if you don't already personally know someone who is ordained and will perform your ceremony, it may feel like it is bound to be impersonal or "cookie cutter." We honestly didn't have high hopes when we started searching, and we really just wanted to find someone who wouldn't be awkward. Well, all it took was a couple of messages back and forth with Jay last year and I knew we were in good hands. Even so, I could not have imagined just how much I would appreciate and cherish the role he played in our day.
First, in the moments leading up to our ceremony, someone had told me the wrong time. I thought we were running behind and I got a little flustered. When I went downstairs, Jay was waiting to walk to the Pier House with me. I didn't expect him to be there to walk over with us, but the fact that he was there and was calm and reassuring meant a lot to me. His genuine kindness and warmth put me at ease.
This warmth was carried through our ceremony, which he expertly prepared as if he had known us for years. It was the perfect balance of joyful and heartfelt. Our family and friends laughed, cried, and even clapped. It is evident that Jay truly loves what he does and finds happiness in bringing people together. That happiness was contagious! (Just look at our pictures!) I already want to do it all over again! If we ever renew our vows, we know who we are calling. So many of our guests, young and old and in between, have talked about how lovely our ceremony was and how much they enjoyed Rev. Jay. He's the real deal. He is very obviously a good person who is doing exactly what he was meant to do in life, and that could be felt by everyone in attendance. Thank you Jay for marrying us!! You have a special places in our hearts and memories forever. -

Jay was exceptional! We are not from North Carolina, so we needed an officiant in a pinch. Jay showed up for us and treated us with outstanding care. It was like we'd known him for years, but we had just met on our wedding day.

Wow! Rev Jay honestly did take everyone’s breath away! Being from PA, when we started planning our OBX wedding, the person who would be the one to marry us was left as a big question mark. We had been communicating via email with Rev Jay before the March 2022 wedding expo and he offered us the opportunity for some face to face time when we were down in OBX. We met him for coffee and we instantly knew he was the one we wanted to marry us. He did such an incredible job of incorporating our lives into the ceremony and really brining our love story to life. Surprise Wedding!
Rev. Jay is the BEST! Jay had done 2 other family members Weddings in the past and we wanted a very personal and SURPRISE Wedding. We had 46 of our closest friends over for a "House Warming / Valentines Party" and oh by the way we are getting married. Jay played it perfect just fitting in during the 1st part of the party and then slipped into his Red Blazer just in time to announce we were going to have a Wedding! Could not have been any better! 5 ⭐️ Wedding Officiant
My fiance, now wife, reached out 3 weeks before our wedding date and spoke with him over the phone. From the moment we began talking to him he was upbeat and made us feel like he was part of the family already. He continually went out of his way to do all he could do to make everything go off without a hitch and to reassure us everything was going to be amazing. He not only talked about it he made it come true for us! He was so organized from his website with the wedding portal and tons of suggestions to make things go off without a hitch, to how he made us the center of the entire wedding. People who attended the wedding were saying he's the best wedding Officiant they have ever seen!
We not only found an amazing preacher we found a lifelong friend! -

September Wedding at Jennette’s Pier
I would highly recommend hiring Jay as your wedding officiant regardless if you would like a religious / non-religious ceremony. We chose to have our wedding in our favorite vacation spot so were not local. We went off of other vender recommendations (coordinator,DJ,caterer,etc - they all knew Jay!) to find him. Luckily he was available on our wedding date so after a quick conversation, we signed our contract. He uses a portal that is very easy to navigate for contracts, payment and to complete a questionnaire with your vows, readings, and other critical information about you and your spouse. We met Jay for coffee during our wedding week which made everything feel very comfortable so the ceremony was very friendly. He was extremely enthusiastic and loud enough for all of our guests to hear. He added in a few jokes that really made the key moments. We did not want a long ceremony so he kept it just the right length - not too short or too drawn out. All good things to say about Jay! -

Amazinggggg!
Jay was absolutely amazing!!! Our wedding was the day AFTER a Hurricane at Jennette’s Pier and it was perfect! Our toes were in the sand, the waves were crashing, and love was all around :) Jay made everything we wanted come to LIFE, plus our surprise “Baby Announcement” at the end of the Ceremony! There are not enough good things to say about Jay! Choosing to work with him and have him officiate our small, intimate wedding was one of the easiest decisions throughout the whole wedding planning process. He is personable, kind, and extremely knowledgeable - not to mention he rocks at his job! Regardless of his busy schedule, he arranged a time to sit down with us prior to the wedding (@ one of our favorite coffee/breakfast spots in OBX now), and really took the time to get to know us. He included personal details throughout our ceremony and really customized it to fit us as a couple, making it feel as if he's known us for years. We could not recommend him enough! -

Rev Jay officiated a vow renewal ceremony at The Sanderling Resort for our 20th anniversary. He was great. I was concerned that it might be awkward since we would not have met him ahead of time, and it was just going to be the two of us and a photographer. I also needed a little guidance with planning, since my wife was not involved in order for it to be a surprise. Jay knew exactly what to do. He made it flow very well and helped make it a very special day. -

Rev Jay was absolutely amazing. He made our day so special and very personal. It’s like we had known him forever, he made us very comfortable. He remembered and used personal stories in our ceremony and we loved that. He made us laugh and even cry a little. He was even accommodating to our 200 pound dog and silly five year old. We are so happy we chose him. -

Rev. Jay was everything we needed on our wedding day, and more! He made us feel so comfortable and relieved a lot of our wedding nerves from the start. After we decided he was the perfect fit, he sent us information (found on his portal) to help us prepare for our special day. Something that was suggested, that was not mentioned by anyone else, was to get hurricane insurance. This was the best advice as you never know what can happen at the beach. Rev. Jay came prepared for our rehearsal and from that moment on, everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, commented on how good he was! On the wedding day, Rev. Jay made us laugh, smile, and tear up all at once! We both felt so at ease and he really was the perfect addition to our wedding. He made it so special for us by reading some words we both wrote about each other. He received so many compliments from family and friends. He was professional, caring, and loving. I am so lucky he was “ours” and we are blessed to have a forever friend now too. Thank you Rev. Jay is the best Reverend! I couldn’t have asked for a better wedding ceremony. He made it very personable to my husband and I. We were able to incorporate a sand ceremony during the wedding which made our day extra special. Not many people can say they have a piece of the ground they were married on. I would have never thought to do something like this until Jay mentioned it to us. This was so special and our guest truly enjoyed the ceremony. Amazing, wonderful, personal, caring, delightful... I could go on and on about how fantastic Jay was for our wedding day! From the moment we met him, you can tell the man absolutely loves his job and he eased the few nerves that may have been remaining. He intertwined the perfect amount of humor into our ceremony while speaking words that tugged at our heart strings - it was as if we'd known him for years. It was the perfect amount of love, religion and plenty of smiles. Thank you, Jay! You are a true class act and you made our big day one we will never forget! Now every single time we look at the ocean, we will think of you joining our lives as one on the beach in Corolla!

Rev. Jay deserves every star and more! We got married last Friday 9-23-22, and he was the talk of the night! He took the time from the moment we hired him to get to know each of us! He also took the time to find out what was important to us both to make our ceremony everything we wanted and more! He made the ceremony short and sweet, but in that time gave so much detail. He spoke so beautifully and calm! He made us so comfortable. Our families kept questioning if he was a part of the opposite side of the family, because he was so involved and knew us so well! He also went around and talked to our families before the ceremony to gather as much info as possible. We could not have asked for a better person to start the most perfect day of our lives!
