  We had our wedding at RV in October 2015 and everything could not have gone more perfectly. The venue is absolutely STUNNING and the staff and service was impeccable. The quality of the food surpassed any wedding we have been at, and they were beyond accommodating with specific requests. For example, 2 family members had food allergies and they went above and beyond to prepare a delicious meal that suite their needs. Our guests have been remarking for weeks about how impressed they were - this is truly a 5-star resort. Our catering manager, Erica, was truly one of our best vendors and was so helpful from start to finish during the planning process. If we could do it all over again, we most definitely would! In fact, the rooms are so stunning that we plan to return for our 1-year anniversary. :-)
  
  On another note - I read somewhere a bad review about the sound quality for outdoor weddings on the croquet lawn, and I want to dismiss those rumors. We had a 9-piece band perform and the quality and volume was perfect. No concerns there! '

  I was the primary planner for the wedding of my daughter and her fiancé who live very busy lives in Los Angeles. As this was an out of state event for me I needed lots of support and referrals to vendors. Amber Russom was assigned to our event for Rancho Valencia and she could not have been more pleasant and effective to work with. The end result was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. To say it met our high expectations would be an injustice, as it far exceeded them. Having a wedding at Rancho Valencia is not an inexpensive proposition but it was worth every last cent in terms of service provided, ease of preparation, and the ability of the resort to meet so many of our needs without subcontractors. Their list of recommended vendors proved invaluable. We had a delightful time working with the kitchen to prepare a meal that was entirely gluten free and lost nothing in the translation. The sommelier was creative and resourceful finding wines that met our tastes and our budget. The spaces we used within the resort were accommodating and spectacular. Every detail was overseen flawlessly by Amber who was responsive, organized and an absolute delight to work with. We had fun! She was always happy to negotiate on my behalf to help me find the best possible solution for price. And one last thing - where would you rather stay while planning a wedding? I cannot think of a better place than Rancho Valencia. I was excited for every planning trip and wished there could have been more.

  In our third attempt at wedding planning due to COVID, we were looking for a venue to host our 20 person micro wedding. We looked at a number of highly regarded venues in the San Diego area but, once we saw Rancho Valencia, there was no contest. It is definitely a beautiful property but even more than that, we felt that their level of service and professionalism was extraordinary. They also took Covid precautions very seriously and we felt that our guests would feel safe and secure. We worked with Whitney throughout the planning process and she was warm, responsive and on top of everything. Between navigating Covid, rain predicted for the wedding day and normal wedding day logistics, they were very flexible and went above and beyond to accommodate all of our needs. Comparative to other venues claiming to be of this caliber, we also thought we got a good value for our event. Weddings are not cheap, even small ones, but they are a class act in every way. As you are exploring options for this large investment, know that you will be in excellent hands at Rancho Valencia.
