Cannot recommend Rachael Watson Photography enough for your wedding day! Rachael made the entire process seamless and fun, and she is so thoughtful and talented.
Leading up to wedding day, Rachael was so thorough and organized with her planning, and she truly cared to make sure that every single detail my husband and I felt was important was something she captured. Your vision is super important to her, and we felt that throughout the entire planning process. Plus she really cares to get to know you as a couple, which made spending wedding day together so much more fun! She also has so many wonderful resources for you to use throughout your planning process, like her blog and website which I found to be so helpful!
We had such a great time at our engagement session and it really helped to ease our nerves. Rachael taught us all the best poses and made it feel so natural to be in front of the camera. On wedding day, Rachael knew the perfect poses for bride and groom, family, and the bridal party. She made it fun to take photos for hours on end, and the end results are better than anything I could have hoped for :). She also helped keep us on schedule all day which we were so grateful for. I also loved the variety of photos she took of me and my husband - she took us exploring around the venue and I was stunned by some of the shots she got in places I never would have thought to take photos in front of! She has such an incredible vision and it made for the BEST photos. All our friends and family complimented how incredible Rachael and her team were on wedding day - they were professional and kind and were able to quickly and efficiently get our large family photos done.
We also had Rachael photograph our rehearsal dinner, and she stayed late to make sure she captured some of the best moments. I will never be able to thank her enough for her kindness and her thoughtfulness. Some of my favorite photos of the weekend were captured at our rehearsal.
Rachael - you captured our day so beautifully. We love every single photo and can’t wait to cherish these memories for the rest of our lives. Thank you for your passion and your kindness, we had so much fun working with you! I can’t wait to work with you again for anniversary photos, family photos or just any excuse to work with you again :) -

I had heard about Rachael through some old college friends and looked at her Instagram page when we had gotten engaged. I knew right away seeing the quality of her photos, pricing, and everything that came with it was totally worth it to check her out! She was the only photographer we called, and we booked her right after our phone call because we were so impressed and happy with her with personality, attitude, etc. Rachael was so attentive and was always asking for our feedback on things. We had our engagement session and we were both a little nervous because we had no idea how to "be on camera" and Rachael made it so comfortable and easy! It felt like the hour flew by! Then came our wedding month and Rachael was so amazing and was amazing at answering my last-minute texts and finalizing our schedule for the day. I thought I was organized, but holy cow this girl is organized! She came in our wedding day and was so relaxed and it just made me feel so much better. She had a place for everyone, was so good about knowing everyone's names and making sure everyone knew where they were supposed to be and what time. Our wedding day was so beyond amazing because of Rachael and her team. I would recommend her to anyone I know! I can't stop looking at our wedding photos and how wonderful they are. I can't wait to use Rachael in the future for our photography needs. If you need a wedding photographer, look no other than to Rachael because she will be the best vendor you hire!!! -

It may have taken me four years to finally write this review, but that’s only because my husband and I still can’t stop talking about how incredible Rachael was as our wedding photographer.
I first met her when she photographed our surprise proposal! Even though we hadn’t met before, she captured that moment so beautifully and naturally that I knew right away I wanted her for everything else. She later photographed our engagement session and, of course, our wedding day—and each time she exceeded every expectation.
Rachael isn’t just a photographer—she’s a cheerleader, coordinator, hype woman, and genuine support system all rolled into one. From the moment she arrived on our wedding day, she brought calm, positive energy and made sure we felt cared for and confident. She checked in with both of us throughout the day—not just to manage the timeline, but to make sure we were actually enjoying ourselves and soaking in each moment. It truly felt like she was invested in our experience, not just our photos.
When it came to taking pictures, Rachael made everything feel natural and fun. She gave just the right amount of guidance to make sure everyone looked their best while still capturing the authentic joy of the day. Our photos are not only stunning but full of emotion and personality. They perfectly reflect how the day felt.
We are forever grateful we had Rachael by our side to capture some of the most important moments of our lives. Her talent, heart, and presence made a lasting impression—and four years later, we’re still singing her praises. If you’re lucky enough to work with her, you’ll understand why. -

The Best Wedding Photography Team!!
Rachael and her entire team are truly the best! All of the extra care they put in throughout the process, from start to finish is so clear to see! Rachael, Erin, and Shannon came in with a game plan, even if it was raining ALL DAY, made everyone feel comfortable in front of the camera, and captured our day perfectly! We were blown away with their ability to both create beautiful portraits and capture all the best candid moments throughout the day!! Our friends and family have commented on how INCREDIBLE the final images are as well as what a joy Rachael and her team were to work with on our wedding day! We would recommend Rachael Watson Photography to absolutely anyone looking for top-tier wedding photography! Rachael and her team really know how to take care of their Watson Brides! -

We LOVE Rachael!
Rachael is the absolute best! I met Rachael when she was the photographer at my friend’s wedding, and as soon as I got engaged, I knew that I wanted to work with her! She is so patient and kind—when we had to reschedule our engagement photos because of a conflict with my husband’s work, she was so understanding. And the photos were amazing! We got so many compliments from people who absolutely loved the pictures from the wedding, and we have so many from our engagement and wedding in our home. Rachael is incredible, and I highly recommend getting to know her! -

Great wedding & engagement photographer!
Rachael was a wonderful vendor to work with throughout the entirety of wedding planning. Not only was she amazing on the day of our wedding with all things photo, she also was a great support in the months leading up to the wedding. She made us super comfortable in front of the camera during our engagement session and taught us simple poses that can be used anytime. Then, in the months of planning, Rachael's wedding expertise was super helpful as we built our day-of schedule and decided on the little details of the day. The photos all turned out beautifully and she thought on her feet when the weather was not on our side on our day. Our sneak peak and gallery were finished so fast after our wedding, we were barely home from our honeymoon when we got all of our photos back wonderfully edited. We would highly recommend Rachael to any bride in the Chicagoland area! -

From start to finish Rachael was such a joy to work with throughout the past year for our engagement shoot and wedding!!! We were so fortunate to find Rachael through Cantigny's preferred vendors along with on the Knot. If you are recently engaged and in need of a photographer for engagement photos and your wedding do yourself a favor and hire Rachael!! She is so organized, detailed and takes the best photos I have ever seen. I love that she helped us along the entire way, told us how to pose and everything in between. Our wedding photos turned out AMAZING, and we are so happy to have worked with Rachael for this very special day. We're already wanting to use her again in the future for any special events. :) -

Stunning Photos & Amazing Person
Before getting engaged, I had already saved Rachael's contact information after seeing her stunning photos from a wedding album posted on social media. She was the very first vendor we hired (the day after we got engaged!) and I can't recommend her enough for your future wedding or any photos you are having taken. Not only is Rachael incredibly talented, but she is an amazing person. She makes you feel so comfortable and confident being in front of the camera. Our engagement shoot with her was in 100+ degree weather and the photos came out so beautiful. We received our wedding photos so quickly and were blown away by how well she captured the day, our love, and memories that will last us a lifetime. We truly could not find a picture we didn't love. Rachael also includes a custom timeline for your wedding day which is so helpful to you, your vendors, and your bridal party. She takes the time to get to know you and it truly translates in her work. Please do not look any further as hiring Rachael will be the best decision you make for your wedding day! -

Our experience with Rachael was top-notch from start to finish! She was there for us all the way through our wedding planning experience! She is very responsive and helpful to any questions that arise. Not to mention her photography skills are AMAZING. From the engagement session to wedding day she made my husband and I feel special and beautiful. She even got our not-so-photogenic groomsman to smile and open-up to the camera, a true skill! We got access to all our final images (over 1500) and the quality is amazing! Would recommend RWP to everyone!! -

We are so happy with our decision to work with Rachael for our wedding, and we can't emphasize enough how much we love our final photos! We had so much fun getting to know Rachael at our engagement session, and couldn't wait to work with her on our wedding day. Leading up to the wedding day, she was very responsive and helpful with coming up with a timeline, ironing out last minute details, and making sure we were all on the same page about photo plans. On our wedding day, Rachael and her assistant, Courtney, did a great job helping us stay organized and making sure we got all the photos we wanted while sticking to our timeline, and she made sure we didn't feel rushed at all. The photos from the ceremony are so beautiful and expertly capture the emotions and joy of our wedding ceremony. Rachael was very patient and efficient with helping us get through LOTS of family photos, and did a great job directing the bridal party photos to make sure we didn't get too distracted so we could get great shots done in a timely manner. After bridal party photos, we took our photos in a variety of great photo spots, and they all turned out beautifully. Rachael has so much artistic talent and I was so impressed with how she made every photo look so stunning, even in unexpected places like the middle of the street or in front of a fallen tree! She was so fun and enthusiastic throughout the whole day, and she made us feel very comfortable and natural in front of the camera, and this made our photos turn out so beautiful and genuine. We received countless compliments from our bridal party, family, and friends about how impressed they were with the flow of the photos, and the quality of the final images. We were so excited to get our sneak peek within just a few days of the wedding, and were very impressed that we had the final gallery within just 3 weeks! Our experience with Rachael was excellent from start to finish, and I cannot emphasize enough how highly I recommend her as a wedding photographer :) -

Rachael is what you call THE BEST OF THE BEST! She is truly amazing!! Hiring Rachael as our wedding photographer was hands down the best decision we made when planning our wedding. Rachael will make you feel like family from the moment you meet her. Not only is she incredibly relatable but she is extremely professional with all that she does. Rachael isn't just your average photographer, she goes above and beyond for her Watson brides. She was always willing to text/call to answer our questions and was extremely thoughtful and generous with her time in planning our dream day. The support, advice, and expertise Rachael carries is immeasurable. She has a keen eye for detail and takes pride in all that she does. Rachael made our wedding day flow flawlessly with her detailed timeline. Weeks later and our wedding party has still not stopped talking about how amazing she is. Rachael recently shared our wedding photos and our loved ones have spent countless hours going through them over and over again in awe at her work. If you're debating on who to hire as your wedding photographer, stop looking and hire Rachael, it will be the best and easiest decision you make for your celebration. Some of the innumerable qualities that make Rachael amazing include her beautiful and creative eye; her flexibility and responsiveness; her ability to put her clients at ease and help them have fun; her attention to detail; and so, SO many more. We got married in October 2020, but had a larger celebration July 2022, and Rachael ROCKED IT! Our photos turned out so beautifully and so many of our guests commented on her professionalism and great skills. If I could go back in time and hire her for our October 2020 wedding, I would! Rachael helped me with ALL of my questions, was totally willing to work around my timeline, and had such great suggestions for pictures. She was also "down for anything", including an 'engagement' shoot in the snow in February...LOVE those pictures too! What really makes Rachael special is she truly makes you feel like her most important client(s), and she does everything she can to give you the photos (and experience!) you want for one of the biggest days of your lives...including making me feel like it was totally normal to surprise my husband wearing a raptor mask for our (second) first look. When Rachael got excited about this idea and didn't think I was totally crazy, I knew I had chosen someone special. She even sent us a surprise canvas shortly after our wedding celebration and delivered our full digital album only ten days after our celebration...and we got a sneak peek of about 100 photos only a week after...AND even got to see 15 photos DURING dinner! I could go on and on and on, but I'll stop by saying that Rachael is someone who is doing exactly what they are supposed to be doing...her passion, commitment to her clients, creativity, and skill are rare....so rest assured and hire her for your big day! You WON'T regret it! :) -

Incredible Experience, Amazing Photos - Would HIGHLY recommend!
Hiring Rachael was the best decision we truly made when it came to planning our wedding day, and we have and will continue to recommend her to all our friends. We worked with Rachael for both our engagement pictures and for 12 hours on our wedding day. Rachael has this amazing ability to make you feel comfortable and seen, even after just meeting for a few minutes! She truly takes the time to get to know you and your partner to capture your wedding day the way you envision it and all of the special moments along the way. She is punctual, approachable, communicates quickly, and truly has the same energy at hour 1 as she does hour 12! Beyond her incredible photos, she helped to also build our timeline for the day and corral family members together so that we could successfully take the photos we were hoping for. We ended up getting married on the hottest day of the year in Chicago, and Rachael and Blake made sure to constantly check-in on our needs, adjust to account for water breaks, and still managed to capture the highest quality photos. Both my husband and I couldn't be happier with our wedding day experience thanks to Rachael, and how all of the photos came out. They exceeded our expectations and we are so thankful we have those treasured moments to look through for years to come! If you're looking for a phenomenal photographer that you can trust with such a big role, Rachael is it! -

Rachael is such a talented photographer! We absolutely loved our engagement and elopement pictures, they're perfect. She's not afraid to run around and get amazing shots, and she has an eye for what looks good as it was happening, meaning we didn't have to worry if she would get a special moment! The direction she gives while taking pictures is also VERY appreciated, it's easy to get overwhelmed or not have any idea what to do, but she does an awesome job of guiding you through it. I could not suggest hiring Rachael enough, you will not be disappointed. We can't wait to have her for our big celebration! -

As cheesy at it sounds, 5 stars doesn't even begin to adequately describe how incredible Rachael is to work with. She was without a doubt our BEST wedding vendor! After our first meeting, we still were supposed to meet with one more wedding photographer. We got in the car and my now husband goes, "This next guy would have to be Jesus Christ Himself, if he's going to beat her." We canceled that appointment and let Rachael know we would love to have her be a part of our day. Rachael came highly recommended by 2 friends of mine whose weddings she also shot, and I can honestly say she by far exceeded any expectation I could have had. She was SO helpful through the whole wedding planning process. She was the first and only vendor to help me establish a time line for my day that made planning so much easier. She responded quickly to all my emails asking for recommendations for other vendors as well as a mess of other silly questions I had. When my big day finally arrived, Rachael was a superstar. She was so fun to work with (my wedding party loved her as well!) and I STILL have guests talking about how amazing she was, 4 months later. I'm an event coordinator at a wedding venue, which is where I met Rachael. She is hands down one of my favorite photographers. Not only is the style of her photography my favorite, she is an amazing human! She put my husband at ease in front of the camera (which isn't easy to do) at both our engagement shoot and day of. She is very flexible and really listens to you and what shots you do or don't want. Her bubbly personality was loved by both us and our family and friends. You can't go wrong with her! -

Photography was one of the most important parts of our wedding day. If you’re looking for a photographer who truly cares about you & your significant other & wants to capture your day, you NEED to book Rachael!! I was so nervous about every detail & Rachael
patiently & sweetly answered all my questions. She created an amazing timeline that I used for the basis for my whole day. Rachael has such an enthusiastic and positive attitude, even my now-husband (who doesn’t like getting his picture taken) said that he felt relaxed and at ease when Rachael was taking photos. We got perfect wedding photos that captured our ceremony & reception beautifully. These will be cherished for years to come, thank you Rachael!!! -

Rachael is outstanding! We are not very comfortable in front of the camera, and were nervous for our engagement session. She is so personable, teaches you her “core poses” to get you feeling good in front of the camera, and is so outgoing. After our engagement photo session, we were feeling great and had no nerves leftover before the wedding about being in front of the camera. Her photos are great, she will take your special requests to make your day your own, and overall she really makes you feel like her friend and comfortable! I would highly recommend her. Everyone in my bridal party loved her! -

Hiring Rachael as our wedding photographer was hands down the best wedding planning decision we made. I fell in love with Rachael's photos and personality as I researched her facebook page and website, but then when we met her in person, there was no doubt in my mind that she was the perfect wedding photographer for us. Rachael is so personable, professional, and genuine, it is easy to feel at ease immediately when you meet her. She was so organized and on top of everything that I had zero stress about pictures. Rachael is creative and up for anything, whether it is getting eaten up by mosquitos and stepping in a creek to get the perfect waterfall engagement shot or standing on the roof of her jeep in the rain to capture our first look, she doesn't hesitate to do what it takes to get the perfect shot.
She worked so well with us, our families and friends, and captured all of the memories that will last a lifetime.
