An amazing experience. Rabbi Laurie was caring and took her time to get to know us before our special day.
Rabbi Laurie was met to be our Rabbi, after looking around for several months. We found the person who explained the process and set up expectations for us. We were so blessed to have her be part of our special day. We highly recommend her to be next to you on your special day.-

Beautiful and personal ceremony
Everything was a dream come true. My wife and I chatted with the Rabbi quite a bit before the wedding, and it really felt like she put her personal touch on it. We were able to pick and guide toward what we wanted, and everything was perfect. I can't imagine having a better ceremony. Would HIGHLY recommend her -

Great ceremony!
We saw the great reviews for Rabbi Laurie so asked her to do the ceremony for our wedding. We were not disappointed! She did a great job with the elements we wanted to incorporate and brought a great energy to the ceremony. And when we kissed before we were supposed to during the ceremony, Rabbi Laurie handled it in stride and made it into a very funny and memorable moment. -

Queer COVID Wedding
We knew rabbi Laurie from years ago when she was at a different synagogue. When we decided to have a Jewish wedding, we knew we wanted her as our rabbi. We were right!
Rabbi Laurie understands our family, including our parents. She gets us as trans people, as a couple and as parents in a pandemic.
When she hugged our son, he wouldn’t let go of Rabbi Laurie. We all love her! -

We had no idea what would happen with the pandemic. Rabbi Laurie couldn't have been more flexible and more reassuring. She was a practical problem solver and we felt she really got to know us. -

Friendly, responsive and professional
Rabbi Laurie and I officiated at a wedding in May of one of my former students. Not only was she responsive about working out the details of the service, but she also personalized her part in a way as if she had known the couple for years. Her combination of humor and theological integrity was a perfect balance for this wedding ceremony. I look forward to working with her agin in the near future! -

Outstanding Ceremony with Rabbi Laurie
We found Rabbi Laurie on Weddingwire. After reading about her services and reviews we knew we had found our officiant. In fact we had an outstanding international multilingual Zoom ceremony during the pandemic that was way beyond expectations. She was extremely flexible in coordinating with us and our Spanish translator in Australia. While an interfaith couple we decided to have a more traditional Jewish wedding which turned out to be the wedding of our dreams. Rabbi Laurie was also very accommodating during the Zoom international ceremony which had occasional delays especially as our virtual guests (from all over the world in US, Australia and several countries in Europe and south America) would say the blessings. She also hand wrote in the details of our Ketubah in beautiful Hebrew (and English). Not to mention that she also saved the day as we had quite a bit of snow in our wedding day and she was kind enough to agree to spend the night at a local hotel, in order to avoid driving in the snow! We highly recommend her! -

Perfect Officiant for our Queer Jewish Wedding
We had known Rabbi Laurie for a long time through our old synagogue, but we'd recommend her to anyone. She gave us a lot of flexibility in choosing what we wanted our wedding to be like, while still offering all the expertise and guidance we needed. We were able to choose how much we wanted in Hebrew vs. English, different levels of traditional and egalitarian in the vows, what gendered language (if any) to use for Hashem, and so on. She provided us texts in Hebrew and transliteration for different comfort levels and helped us locate a trans-affirming mikveh! The ceremony was beautiful and meaningful and exactly the right length. I highly recommend Rabbi Laurie as an officiant for your Jewish wedding whether you're queer or not. -

Rabbi Laurie has been amazing!!
We found Rabbi Laurie via Weddingwire. We knew she was the perfect fit immediately, she was warm, flexible, and ready to make all of our dreams for our perfect wedding come true. Once the pandemic hit, we had to switch many of our details, and she did a great job accommodating us and our new vision. She takes her job very seriously. We are also having her co-officate and she has been great in navigating the 21st century wedding! I highly recommend her!! -

Officiant for Interfaith Wedding
My husband and I are so glad that we chose Laurie to be the officiant at our wedding. We were a little hesitant at first with choosing a Rabbi as we are a mixed-religion couple (Jewish and Christian) and didn’t want to have a wedding that focused too much on one religion or the other in order to make both sides of our future family happy. After a few minutes talking to Laurie, however, we realized that our fears were totally unnecessary. From the start, Laurie focused on making the wedding about us as a couple and not about what religions we followed. She helped guide us in making a ceremony tailored to our preferences while allowing us to explore what made us special as a couple and what brought us to the altar that day. We met with Laurie on two occasions before the wedding and, at those meetings, she was able to develop a natural rapport with us and carried that, as well as the stories and inside jokes we had, into a ceremony that felt like us. On the day of the wedding, the ceremony she crafted was beautiful and helped us to make memories of that day that will last forever. We were overjoyed with our ceremony and you will be too if you choose Laurie to be your officiant.

Rabbi Laurie is amazing to work with! She helped us navigate a ceremony that was very personal for us but still traditional. She was super responsive and helped us prepare by carefully explaining what we needed to do to for the ceremony. She paid close attention to use and told stories about how much my husband and I care for each other and even noticed that I almost tripped and my husband had covered all the trip hazards around the huppah with his foot to save me embarrassment and keep me safe. She added that detail into the service and it was so beautiful. I had no idea this was happening and she brought me back into the moment to let me know how much Zach cares about me! After the ceremony almost every guest complimented us on how wonderful our service was and had wonderful things to say about Rabbi Laurie. -

You will not be disappointed with Rabbi Laurie. She is patient, funny, and insightful. My husband and I had our officiant back out of our wedding about two months before our ceremony, which was devastating. In a panic, we reached out to Rabbi Laurie-- and it turned out to be one of the best decisions we could have made for our wedding. Rabbi Laurie was everything we could have wanted in an officiant-- she took the time to learn about us and tailor a ceremony that matched us perfectly. She gave us countless options to personalize our ceremony-- down to which gender we would like to use when referring to God. It was truly incredible. She was such a calming presence throughout our ceremony, guiding us through everything and injecting humor. We received so many compliments from guests on how beautiful and touching the ceremony was. We were absolutely thrilled. -

Our wedding ceremony officiated by Rabbi Green was absolutely wonderful. We received more compliments on how beautiful our ceremony was than we did for any other part of the wedding. She took the time to get to know us personally, and created a ceremony that was uniquely ours. A lot of our family and friends are not of the Jewish faith, but from the Ketubah signing to the stomping of the glass, she made sure that everyone knew the importance of the traditions. We also had a premarital counseling session with Rabbi Green, and it sparked several conversations between us that made us feel even closer together before our wedding. Rabbi Green is extremely caring and thoughtful and we highly recommend her as a wedding officiant. -

Overall our experience with Rabbai Laurie was very pleasant! My husband and I come from more of a non-traditional background, me being Jewish and him being raised Catholic-- but we wanted to include some Jewish traditions in our ceremony. Laurie was really helpful, and knowledgable and even educated us on our options over the phone-- which made it really clear on what we did and didn't want. Additionally, Laurie was very professional and made our ceremony a beautiful memory we will never forget. -

Rabbi Laurie led an absolutely beautiful ceremony. It was personal and made us feel so special. It had enough of the traditional Jewish wedding parts without being overly traditional so that my non Jewish friends felt like they knew what was going on and felt included in the ceremony. I am so happy she was our officiant and truly indebted to her for giving us such a wonderful memory. I cannot recommend her highly enough. -

Rabbi Laurie was so helpful throughout the process of putting together a service that was meaningful to us, personal, and unique. She gave us a lot of options so we could choose what felt best to us and was always great about answering any questions along the way and making sure we felt comfortable and happy with our choices. Many of our guests commented on what a special ceremony it was and how nicely Rabbi Laurie officiated (ceremony was located in Howard County, MD).
We also did some sessions with her beforehand that were more oriented towards premarriage counseling and that was very helpful in posing questions to us that we hadn't talked about much before, including topics that were important to address before marriage. After discussing them, we felt even more prepared for our future together, and we were definitely glad we invested the time to do that. -

Rabbi Laurie was a total Mensch. My husband is from Paraguay and after the Supreme Court ruled that marriages in the states had validity with federal law it meant we needed to get married quickly in order to start the immigration process. But, we wanted a "somewhat" traditional Jewish wedding with our family and friends. I say "somewhat" because we wanted a lot of fun loving twists, like having a bag piper play Hava Nagilla and have our dog stand under the choopah with us. Rabbi was 100% accommodating with our quick timeline and all the funky customized components of our wedding. She performed a beautiful service for us and my husband LOVED her quick course in the fundamentals in Judiasm. -

When we asked Rabbi Laurie Green to officiate our wedding, we could not have guessed that we would soon have a marital counselor, practical advisor, spiritual guide, therapist and friend. My husband and I are both Jewish, with differing degrees of formal Jewish schooling and spirituality. We are also gay, in our mid-20’s, and were not active in the Jewish community in D.C. When we met Rabbi Laurie, we immediately connected with her. She is that rare breed of spiritual leader who can blend deep religious values and tradition with a practical, modern and no-nonsense attitude.
For the better part of a year, we met with Rabbi Laurie for pre-marital counseling. These sessions were extremely helpful and provoked important conversations between us. She focused on practical and concrete themes, incorporating many topics relevant to LGBTQ people. Rabbi Laurie was extremely mindful of the particular issues and challenges we face as a gay couple, and she was instrumental in crafting a ceremony that was rooted in Jewish tradition and sensitive to our specific circumstances. Through our meetings with her, we developed a close relationship of trust with her, something neither of us had experienced with previous rabbis in our lives. When we faced some family challenges related to the wedding, Rabbi Laurie volunteered her time to offer wise spiritual and practical advice, and really helped us to overcome a potential disaster. It’s clear that she puts her congregants and wedding couples first.
By the time the wedding day arrived, it felt like a close, personal friend was officiating. The ceremony was beautiful, personal, thoughtful, and inclusive of all guests, many of whom were not Jewish. Rabbi Laurie brought humor, personal anecdotes and religious customs into the ceremony, in a way that felt accessible while keeping things quite traditional. A number of our guests have commented to us about how much they enjoyed how Rabbi Laurie conducted the ceremony. -

We had the pleasure of having Rabbi Green officiate our wedding. She led a beautiful ceremony, and so many of our friends and family approached us afterwards to say how much they were impressed by Rabbi Green. Leading up to the ceremony, we met with the Rabbi on several occasions for both pre-marital counseling and to plan the ceremony. We found each of these meetings to be insightful and helpful. Rabbi Green helped us create a ceremony that infused old and new Jewish traditions with our own values and interests. Because of her guidance and wonderful officiating skills, our wedding ceremony was full of emotion, humor, and tradition. -

A joyful event with the perfect Rabbi to be our Officiant. Rabbi Green provided the guidance, and flexibility to ensure everyone's needs were met. The "care & feeding" for a Jewish & interfaith ceremony was artistically and skillfully orchestrated, resulting in a beautiful, beautiful event - that all family loved, and we most appreciated. The joy of the event was beyond words, and both families, and the brides were overwhelmed with the ceremony, celebration and love that exuded on this special day -- brought together in close collaboration with, and assistance from Rabbi Green; who did so much to make this day so very, very special to all. Thank you for our Ketubah signing, our beautiful ceremony and everything else throughout as everything came together to ensure a special day and blessings appropriate to a legal marriage. -

She was very flexible in her suggestions and response to our very simple ceremony at our home since we have been together over 22 years. Rabbi Laurie is warmly approachable with a pleasant, calm demeanor that provided us with a lasting memory of our Love in the past and our vision of our Love into the future. Rabbi Green did an amazing job as the officiant for our wedding. The ceremony was very personal, and our guests could tell that she had really gotten to know us. We were able to customize the ceremony to our liking, and she was very flexible with our requests. We definitely feel that we had a unique Jewish wedding that was welcoming to all, and most importantly was one that we felt comfortable with. We also had 3 pre-marital counseling/planning sessions with Rabbi Green, which we felt were very helpful and were an important part of the process. Definitely recommend Rabbi Green and would use her again in a heartbeat! -

If you are looking for a Rabbi or multicultural officiant for your wedding, you've found her! Rabbi Laurie was very genuine, loving, understanding and skillful. She helped us through the pre-wedding process with solid instruction and helped us through one of the most stressful parts of our relationship. Even with the best planning, once we were finally standing face to face under our chuppah, I became overcome with emotion and literally forgot everything that I was supposed to do and say during our beautiful ceremony. Even then, Rabbi Laurie shined with her wonderful smile and lead us in on through the ceremony without a hitch (except for my crying haha!) I would highly recommend her for anyone looking to have a Jewish or multicultural wedding!! -

Rabbi Green did an excellent job officiating our wedding. Even before the wedding itself, she met with us several times to get to know us - which really shined through when she spoke about us at the ceremony. She helped us prepare for the wedding by recommending a good "how to" book for Jewish weddings :)
Recommend you consider up front whether you want a rehearsal the night before the wedding - we found it to be helpful. -

Wonderful Experience for the Perfect Day
Rabbi Green was perfect, everything we had wanted. She helped guide us through all the various options and to a ceremony that suited us, but still felt personal and meaningful. Definitely made things less stressful. Thank you so much!!! -

In the era of Covid
Rabbi Green was more than willing and very helpful in helping us create a wonderful and meaningful plan for our ceremony that had to be postponed because of Covid. Would highly recommend to any interfaith or Jewish couple -

She made it all so amazing...
Jake and I absolutely loved Rabbi Laurie. The words she spoke during the ceremony touched our hearts. The way she honored my mother who had passed away 1 month prior to the ceremony was perfect. I felt her in my heart. Our guest had only positive words when describing her message. They all felt she had know is for years instead of a couple of months. -

Great experience, would recommend!
It was great working with Rabbi Laurie for our wedding. We had a lot of questions since ours was an interfaith marriage, and she was helpful and patient in working with us. I'd recommend being explicit in what your ceremony looks like and how you'd like it to be given; we should have asked Rabbi Laurie to give descriptions of each element of the service before doing them since not all of the audience were aware. -

Rabbi Lauri Green was great to work with!
Our ceremony was beautiful and Rabbi Green did a great job incorporating personal details and our Jewish backgrounds in a thoughtful and creative way. The planning process was easy, and Rabbi Green was flexible in which part of a traditional ceremony we wanted to include, and which we didn't.
Rabbi Green was also always responsive, friendly, and excited to be working with us. Thanks!-

Rabbi Green was great to work with! She was the Rabbi for my sister-in-laws wedding and we instantly knew we wanted her to be our Rabbi. Our meetings were very beneficial and Rabbi Green adds some light humor to our conversations. Our guests thought she was great at the wedding and I would highly recommend her to be your Rabbi. We were thrilled that she made the trip to NJ for our wedding! -

Very flexible to customize your ceremony!
Rabbi Laurie is so kind, and was so nice to work with leading up to our wedding. She is EXTREMELY flexible with different schedules and timelines -- we were able to choose what English translations we wanted for our blessings, and execute our ceremony exactly as we wanted. She was happy to explain different options of what she's done in the past to give us ideas and options for execution. There were a few last minute confusions about the timeline and whether we had paid, which was a little stressful the day of, but they were resolved in the end. People afterward told us how down to earth our ceremony was. Thanks, Rabbi Laurie! -

Rabbi Green put on a beautiful and meaningful ceremony. She took all of our comments into consideration and came up with something very personal and lovely. Some advice, be sure to discuss venue, ambiance and attire. -

Wanted to love her!
I agree with other reviewers that Rabbi Laurie was kind, knowledgeable and flexible! I really, really wanted to love her. Unfortunately, in our case she was also disorganized, late the day of our wedding and didn't seem to really get us as a couple.
Our wedding ceremony was beautiful because of our vows and blessings from our friends, but Rabbi Laurie had some awkward ad-libbing (like jokes about me dressing my husband, which I don't do?) and -- perhaps the worst part -- she was 10 minutes late to our ketubah signing! This may sound minor, but pre-wedding prep is very hectic and our photographer rushed and cut photos of our wedding party short to make our ketubah signing time.
I'm a very organized bride and reached out to her all the way back in July for my late October wedding to get our ceremony and counseling set before the High Holidays hit. She was distracted and rushed at our ceremony meeting (at a time and location of her choosing) and then rescheduled our August counseling session the week-of, postponing it until 2 weeks before the wedding! Not great for a Type A bride! She also assumed we wanted biological kids during our session and we had to correct her.
Again, Rabbi Laurie was warm, kind and flexible -- she was welcoming of our interfaith relationship, open to customizing the ceremony in a variety of ways (like not using the male G-d) and we ultimately found our ceremony to be memorable and beautiful. We just didn't seem to connect with her the way I had hoped. -

Bad experience
We wish that we could write a glowing review of Rabbi Laurie, but unfortunately cannot. In fact, our experience with her was extremely stressful and unpleasant. When we met Rabbi Laurie for a consultation, we let her know it was important to us to have premarital counseling and for her to get to know us. We then agreed on multiple counseling sessions in the contract we signed with her. Unfortunately, Rabbi Laurie emailed to cancel our counseling sessions just one day after we scheduled them because there were “some changes in [her] professional and personal life which make [her] unavailable.” Since we figured she would likely also be “unavailable” to get to know us and were concerned she might cancel on us entirely closer to the wedding, we told Rabbi Laurie that we wanted to find another officiant but would compensate her for the planning session we already had. We had paid the entire fee upfront, but Rabbi Laurie refused to refund us anything beyond the fee for premarital counseling. She argued that she had not violated her contract (which included the sessions) in any material way and refused to acknowledge the contract clearly stated that half the ceremony fee was refundable. I am a lawyer and Rabbi Laurie is simply wrong as a matter of contract law. Rabbi Laurie sent us a number of lengthy emails on the topic, several of which I found to be unprofessional and downright nasty. At one point, after I complained that she refused to send me a copy of the contract with her signature (we signed first and she signed second), she even threatened to defame me as an attorney. She also insisted as a condition of reaching a settlement that we agree not to leave her a review on WeddingWire, which she let go only when we told her that this violated WeddingWire’s terms of service. Eventually, we agreed to settle for most of the fee to avoid added stress before our wedding, even though I was confident we would have won the full amount in small claims court. To her credit, days before our wedding, Rabbi Laurie sent us an apologetic email and offered to give us a higher amount instead. -

Disappointed.
The only reason I write this review is to ensure another couple does not have the same experience. When we initially talked to her on the phone prior to choosing her for our rabbi for our wedding she prided herself in ensuring all of the details for the ceremony were finalized in advance so it was the last thing we had to worry about prior to our wedding. However this was the exact opposite of what happened. Rabbi Lori was extremely difficult to get in contact with up until about two weeks prior to our wedding. At one point I was worried if we even had an officiant for our wedding because she never responded to our emails. She did not take time to get to know us as a couple and it unfortunately reflected in our ceremony and left guests confused and as if she was interviewing us for the first time on our wedding day. She also showed up late to the ceremony delaying our wedding putting us behind and ultimately shortening our reception. My husband and I are both very frustrated and disheartened that this is how our ceremony ended up. Additionally, every interaction we had felt as if it were merely a business transaction. -

Unprofessional + disorganized
While 99% of our vendors were perfect, professional, and delivered exactly what they said they would for our wedding, Rabbi Laurie was unfortunately not one of them. As soon as we completed the contract we began having issues. We scheduled a virtual session to get to know each other months before the wedding and she rescheduled at the last minute. When we did meet on Facetime finally, she came completely unprepared and ended the call after 10 minutes of reviewing information we had already provided her about our ceremony and without getting to know us at all. We were supposed to have two counseling sessions and she was very reassuring one would be in person pre-wedding since that was important to us, to meet face-to-face. I reached out multiple times all summer to schedule times for these sessions and she canceled on us, took many weeks and many follow-up emails to even reply, and was just unnecessarily stressful to work with on scheduling. Finally, a week before the wedding we drove an hour to meet with her in person. As soon as we arrived, she emailed us to cancel! We drove all the way home nervous we wouldn't even have an officiant and definitely wouldn't have gotten to meet her, had a single counseling session, or developed the relationship we were promised.
The week of the wedding, after cancelling out in-person meeting abruptly, we had to call her to get confirmation she would make it to our ceremony and she said she was "99% sure" she would. She offered us another officiant, but this was the week of our wedding and the week of Yom Kippur. After contracting with her over 9 months before our wedding, she still put us in this extremely stressful position less than 1 week out. We decided to stay with her since we didn't want the stress of explaining our ceremony to a new rabbi during our wedding week when our family was coming in and with the Yom Kippur holiday it was just truly impossible. Without being asked, I sent her an email of details and anecdotes about my husband and I for her to use in her ceremony since she hadn't gotten to know us at all in the 9 months advance time she had.
She assured us she'd be early and prepared for our wedding, which again wasn't the case. She arrived 15 minutes late to the ketubah signing (which was to begin at 5 PM, so she was actually 45 minutes late total as she told us she'd be there at 4:30 PM to meet us) and the entire wedding party was literally sitting around waiting for her, which was both embarrassing and unprofessional. The ceremony was beautiful because of the vows we wrote to each other. She used anecdotes from my email, but got a couple of them wrong, and she led everyone in a song at the end of the ceremony even after I explicitly said we weren't doing that because we chose a separate walk out song.
Throughout the whole process of trying to work with Rabbi Laurie, I found her behavior unprofessional and her attitude generally condescending and disrespectful. For example, when my sister called her when she was 30 minutes late to the venue and the ketubah signing was supposed to be starting, she kept saying "it's all good" "it's going to be fine" and so on and she did the same thing when she told us she wasn't sure she'd make our ceremony at all a week before. I am expecting the same response to this review, which I can't control, but I can say that I truly don't think anyone should book with Rabbi Laurie or she should officiate ceremonies with new clients until she is more fully able to commit to the services she promises upfront. -
