Pretty Please recently made my wedding cake and it could not have turned out better! If you need a wedding cake in the bay area, go have a tasting at Pretty Please immediately!

Firstly, I have dairy aggravated Celiac's disease, basically it means that I cannot ingest gluten or dairy, but I LOVE baked goods. I was so worried about finding a bakery willing to accommodate my dietary restrictions for my wedding cake. I called bakeries that had gluten free cake menus to ask about if they could make those cakes without dairy. The answer was always no. One bakery owner who I had ordered several cakes from before my dietary restrictions even laughed at me over the phone when I asked claiming it was "ridiculous and impossible to make a gluten free cake taste good without dairy". I had been looking around here comes the guide and other wedding sites when I kept stopping at the same picture of a gorgeous ombre cake. I was sure that a place that made such exquisite cakes probably wouldn't be able to make a cake that was gluten and dairy free, but I looked onto their website anyways.

I was delighted to find that they had both Gluten Free AND Vegan wedding cake menus. I reached out to find out if they would be able to possibly combine those two menus and make a gf/df cake. To my delight Alison responded telling me they never had done it before but they were up to doing some experimenting for my cake tasting. Alison did several experiments to find a way to make a gf/df cake that wouldn't fall, she worked especially hard to create a vanilla gf/df as she knew my dream was a vanilla cake with strawberry filling and vanilla icing. She came through with flying colors!

My wedding cake ended up being gf/df vanilla cake with fresh strawberry filling with vegan strawberry buttercream and vegan vanilla buttercream. It was INSANELY DELICIOUS! It was also purple ombre, beautiful! We got so many compliments on how fantastic it was from our guests who were shocked it was gf/df.

Pretty Please's Cake and dessert table was one of the biggest hits of the night! I still have guests from my wedding talking to me about the snickers cup cakes we had, or the blueberry pancake twinks. The cake was delicious too AND gorgeous. I literally sent Allison 3 different pictures of what I wanted my cake to look like and she beautifully tied all three of my "dream" cake styles into one perfect wedding cake. She is such an artist!

I am so happy my wedding planner and venue recommended we go to Allison. She is such a professional and really took the time to get to know us, our style, and our preferences. Please go to Pretty Please Bakeshop. You will not regret it!

Alison is great! She was on my venues preferred vendor list - and was a great choice for us. Our cake was gorgeous and tasty. Thank you Alison for helping to make our vision come true!

In November 2012 we travelled from Auckland, New Zealand to San Francisco to get married at City Hall. Alison made our wedding cake. We designed our cake with Alison when we met and taste tested in early 2012. When we saw our cake on our wedding day we were stunned! It was just absolutely beautiful and so intricately done. We didn't even want to cut it (was two luggage cases with a luggage tag) with roses:) Thank you Alison for all the time and energy you put into making our wedding cake! We had so many amazing compliments from our guests about it and it tasted amazing too (one layer banana bea and one layer chocolate chip) xo

Alison was great to work with. I had a vision of how I wanted my cake to look and the final product was exact to what I pictured. We signed with her about a month and a half to our wedding and she was hands on deck no questions asked. Her cakes were delicious and moist and she has a great variety of flavors. I would definitely do business with her again and would recommend her services to anyone.

Pretty Please Bakeshop made the cake for our August 2013 wedding in Sonoma Valley. Alison and her team came recommended through our coordinator, who had met with her and seen some of her gorgeous cakes. Alison was very accommodating when we made our one planning trip out to California before the wedding, and sat with us through a tasting where we got to try a number of flavors.

The cake definitely turned out to be delicious (half salted caramel, half chocolate with raspberries and hazelnut mousse), but I think that was secondary to its beauty. They really did a wonderful job bringing our ideas to life, and it fit perfectly with the setting and decor. It was also delivered on time and in good shape, even all the way from San Francisco.

This bakery is just amazing! We worked mainly with Kiran, who answered every little question I had with enthusiasm and was just so sweet with everything. The wedding cake was absolutely beautiful, and our guests were raving about the cake flavors. We opted for the lemon zing as the top tier, and the irish coffee on the bottom tier, it was delicious! I would highly recommend this bakeshop! Also, the banana cream twink is pretty amazing as well!

I like Alison because she's very professional. She returns emails promptly, listens to what you're looking for in a design, comes up with really nice sketches, is flexible with last minute changes to orders, and makes yummy cupcakes and wedding cakes.

We knew from the cake tasting that her cake tasted a little drier and was a bit more crumbly compared to other vendors, but we went with that. On our wedding day, the cake was a little dry and crumbly, but her cupcakes were moist. The flavor was good, not too sweet, and the cake looked fabulous. My husband and I just adored it. Thanks Alison!

PPB was awesome! I had to update my order 2 weeks before the wedding and add a dozen cupcakes and they were so flexible. The process was so easy, from start to finish - signing the contract, paying, and having the cakes delivered. Most importantly, the cake was delicious! We ordered a 10-inch Passionata cake to cut, and then several dozen each of the raspberry chocolate truffle (beware, cupcakes do not have fresh raspberries on top like the cake tasting does) and honey pistachio. We ate cake for several days after the wedding, and it still tasted amazing a week later. Highly recommend, tasty cakes and great value!

Alison from Two for Two cakes was prompt and professional at our meeting. She offered ideas when we were designing my cake and was very knowledgeable. The cost was average and on par with all the other places I checked out.

We chose a 3 layer cake: one layer of chocolate (everyone’s favorite), one layer of white w/strawberry filling, and one layer of lemon. While the decorations and display were beautiful and the flavors were tasty, the consistency of the cake itself was dry and crumbly and not moist at all. We were unable to present our guests with a nice slice of cake; most guests received a plate of crumbles.

Alison told us the cake crumbled because it was not left to return to room temperature before we sliced it. However, the cake was set up for display at approximately 3:30pm and we did not cut it until 9:00pm (plenty of time for the cake to return to room temp). Additionally, I tried the top tier of the cake at 1:00am, yet it was still crumbly and dry.

At my original meeting with Alison, the sample cakes were also dry and not moist. I asked her if the cake would be better (in regards to texture) and she assured me my cake would be baked the day before my reception and would be better than the samples. Alison told us the samples we tried had been baked about a week previously and frozen, which is why they weren’t very moist.

Unfortunately, because my cake was dry and crumbly, I have to give my review of “value for cost” 2 stars out of 5.

Overall, Two for Tow Cakes was professional; prompt; courteous; the decorations were beautifully done; but the quality of the cake was not up to standards. Alison handled our complaint with professionalism and cooperation and has returned partial compensation for the services.
