They were wonderful! The price is amazing for all that you get. The staff works with you and answers all your questions.

We had our rehearsal dinner at Portobello (restaurant), the sister venue to Portobello Banquets. Nora was stepping into a new role when we booked our event and she picked up right where the previous event coordinator left off. She set our menu and cake flavors and made sure everything was ready to go. When we arrived the room was set up perfectly - from table linens to floral arrangements to candles - it was just as we had described. The best part of the evening was our maitre'd / head waitress - she was STELLAR. Everything was taken care of and with a party of 21 she had such attention to detail, who needed a drink, who was missing silverware, when to serve the next course, etc. It couldn't have gone better and everyone had a delightful experience that led up to our wedding the next day. She even set the cake aside with some of our decorative items so that folks could take pictures of it!!! How sweet + thoughtful, especially with all the other moving parts she was taking care of that night. I couldn't be happier with how things went and recommend Portobello to everyone I know. They get a bad rap on Yelp because of the number of menus they have but everything I have ordered there (while testing it out , at our rehearsal dinner, and dinner since then) was cooked perfectly - so hey if you can make it all WHY NOT? I don't know why they have any bad reviews because honestly it is always packed with people and everything on the menu is delicious. 5 Stars for the food, 5 stars for their beautiful building, and 6 stars for their service.

The party was a success. Reasonable prices. The food was good and plentiful.

The food at Portobello was amazing! Guests commented on how much there was and how it was the best Italian food they have ever had! The portions are large and for an excellent price! Highly recommended!

I cant speak for any other events that go on here but my baby shower that was held here was an utter disappointment. I'm an assistant general manager for Hilton and I have never seen worse customer service than this.

Starting from the fact that for 60 people they had 2 servers which was not enough to take care of everyone. THEY HELPED THEMSELVES TO FOOD DURING MY PARTY ALONG WITH MY GUESTS. Not to mention the 2 servers couldn't have been less friendly but this is no surprise since their "manager" working the banquet was unreasonable, unfriendly, and just down right RUDE AND MEAN. She should learn that there is a way to communicate with a customer without being aggressive. Food was put out for exactly ONE HOUR and taken away without any warning. Guests who were coming late had NO FOOD TO EAT and when I asked them if i could at least make a plate for my husband i was told no and they they threw it out, EVEN THOUGH I COULD SEE THEM EATING THE FOOD IN THE BACK. NO COMPASSION whatsoever, she kept reciting new jersey laws to me as if I've never been to an event before. To which she then admitted that food could stay out 2 hours and that they took it away early because they run on a schedule. She nearly berated me, a woman who is 8 months pregnant and took her about 15 minutes to finally give me a sorry excuse of an apology. How did this person become manager? Her demeanor was horrible. I would NEVER EVER RECCOMEND this place to anyone and will be sure to tell everyone I come across in my industry about the lack of professionalism at this venue.
