  Where to begin?! We were absolutely thrilled with Crown Paella as our wedding caterer. We knew we wanted unique, tasty wedding food that wasn't the standard wedding fare, and BOY did these guys deliver. The paella and appetizers were all incredible, the drinks were tasty, and best of all, Emily and Scott Ketterman are a joy to work with and be around.
  
  Emily and Scott are the sweetest couple and we really enjoyed getting to know/hanging out with them at our tasting. They are both passionate about the food and it really shows. We felt like Emily became our friend throughout the planning process, which made it a real treat to have her around on the wedding day! She made sure we got to eat all of the appetizers and made sure both of us had drinks in hand. Emily also went far and above her job description when we had some trouble with another vendor. She took over the situation and made sure it was handled -- all the while making sure that I was doing okay in the process. We seriously love her.
  
  The food itself was astounding. Our guests (and my husband and I!) still can't stop talking about it a month later! The delicious smell of the paella cooking during cocktail hour, then the fun presentation, really added to the ambiance. and was exactly what we wanted out of our wedding food :) Of course, the signature drinks were also delicious!
  
  If we ever host a big party again, we will 100% come to Crown Paella for our catering needs. They're the best of the best.

  I had to move my wedding from Albuquerque to Portland area after moving (yes lost ALL of our deposits), and was pretty stressed out. I immediately started researching caterers in the area, and wasn't getting many responses. The owners responded to me immediately and were sympathetic to my stress levels and situation. The wedding move cut the guest list in half, so I was afraid no one would cater our wedding of 35 (had been shot down by a couple bakeries already). The owners here couldn't have been more amazing and flexible. Their food is amazing and personable; we felt like people instead of a "job". Thank you Portland Paella Project! Portland brides, you will not be disappointed if you go with PPP.

  Janna and Pierce made catering our wedding extremely straight-forward and created two beautiful pans of paella (one traditional and one veggie). It all tasted fantastic and we have had a ton of guests remark about how much they enjoyed it. I recommend them many times over!Thanks again!!!

  Best Wedding Meal Ever

  Crown Paella was the talk of our wedding! It was such an interactive experience, with guests getting to watch the paella cook during cocktail hour and then get to go serve themselves during dinner. Many people hadn't had paella before and couldn't stop raving about it! It was so much more fun than a stuffy plated meal. The appetizers and bar service was great as well - the Crown team did such a great job wrangling our group and keeping them satisfied. We can't thank them enough!

  Bottom line: The food prepared by Crown Paella is exquisite in taste and in presentation. We hired them for our wedding of 260 guests and people were delighted by the food. We felt very well taken care of on the day of the event. Emily came and found me and brought me a sangria to make sure I had a drink in my hand, two of the servers came and found my mom and independently brought her two pieces of the carrot cake that she had prepared as one of many wedding cakes. The staff was a lot of fun -- they capped the night with their own little dance circle rocking out to some of the tunes our DJ played. The only tiny little thing we heard from guests was that their plates were sometimes cleared too quickly...they had gotten up to talk to someone and wanted to come back and finish the rest of their food. But this might be more of a guest error type thing... like don't abandon you plate and expect it to still be there. I think it's important to know that if you hire Crown Paella, they will come through on the day of and do a really awesome job in terms of food, presentation and service. I was a little bit stressed out trying to communicate with Crown Paella throughout the planning process but I think knowing that they do such a great job with the end product can potentially help alleviate any stress that a potential customer may feel during the planning process. When I first reached out to CP about a year in advance of our August 2016 wedding, I heard back immediately but then when I tried to follow up, I didn't hear back for 4 weeks and ended up having our venue coordinator reach out to see if we could get details nailed down. Looking back on it now, I can see that they were probably immersed in the details of other summer weddings and were pretty swamped but at the time, it felt as if they didn't want our business. We also never had a contract with CP which definitely made me unnecessarily panicky at various points but in the end it all turned out beautifully.
