We felt so taken care of on our wedding day at Porta Asbury Park. I did a lot of planning myself and was worried I’d have to be on top of the timeline the day of, but once we arrived at the venue, the incredible staff took over. We also got a lot of compliments on the venue, especially the food and on how the quirky atmosphere was perfect for my husband and I. It was also the perfect size for what we were looking for. I would highly recommend having any event here where you are looking for something way more fun and cool than a typical ballroom. Shout out to Karina and the rest of the ladies who helped make our wedding day so special! -

Wow! Chandler and the Porta team made sure our wedding was amazing. They had very open communication leading up to the big day, addressing all our questions and concerns. Day of, things could not have gone smoother. The food, drinks, service, and the space itself, were all AMAZING. The outdoor space is the perfect size to hang and have a drink. We had the best day!! -

I would get married here all over again! My wife and I had the most incredible day thanks to Porta and their amazing staff. There are honestly no words to express just how incredible they are and how amazing our special day was because of them. Chandler and Payton were so easy to work with during our all of our planning and they were so kind. And Payton and Elizabeth and all of our day of staff were so attentive to us and our family and made the evening go by so smoothly and perfectly. The food was absolutely incredible, the atmosphere is unlike any other, and it is just an all around incredible venue. Our families also spoke so highly of the quality of food, service, care, and all around atmosphere. My wife and I HIGHLY recommend Porta for your special day! -

You can tell this is not Porta's first rodeo, or in this case, wedding. Everything about the package that Porta offers for weddings is not only fair but very accommodating for what is included. Having so many key components of our big day included meant less decisions we had to make, or people to contact. The day of everything ran like clockwork; the staff was courteous, management so helpful, food and drinks of top quality. Our guests absolutely loved the venue and had so much to talk about how distinct and vibrant the place looked. This is a perfect slice of Jersey Shore, the best kind of way to represent Asbury Park's uniqueness, originality, culture, and memories. -

If you're looking for a wedding that strikes a balance between formal and casual, where music/dancing are at the forefront and the most delicious food will be served and talked about for a month post-wedding day (all without breaking the bank), then Porta is IT. It's intimate, vibrant, fun; there's just a vibe to it unlike any other venue. We wouldn't change a thing about our wedding day and that's thanks to Porta and their incredible staff. Recommend: on-site ceremony, a Saturday night, white pie, arugula salad, nutella pies! -

We don't do traditional and Porta fit our vibe perfectly! My husband and I were married on August 26th, 2023. During the planning stages Chandler was on top of her game, any questions I had within minutes she answered them. On the day of the wedding, Peyton and Elizabeth were phenomenal. Elizabeth made sure I wanted for nothing and even helped keep the girls in my dress a few times. Our guests are still saying it is the best wedding they have ever been to. That it fit our personality, it was unique, and the food was amazing. We don't have enough words to say how happy we are that we chose Porta for our wedding. If you are looking for a place to have a wedding, I’ve got to shout out Porta! There isn’t enough words to explain how great my experience was but even more importantly how perfect our day was!
From the very first moment I spoke with Chandler, the event manager, I had nothing but good feelings about this place. We had our wedding in the Abbot room. From the fancy animals dressed up on the walls, to the disco ball chandeliers, the dark walls and the red doors! We knew this was the place for us. They even handle the decor in their custom packages + have a florist they work with (who is also amazing)!!! We also went with their house DJ company (DJ Za) and Dan Emerson who dj’d the wedding- was the absolute best and played the best music! Everyone was up and dancing! The food & drink packages are reasonable depending on what you want! We also had Porta provide the cake and it was honestly the best tasting cake we have ever had.(Our guests are still raving about the cake!)
The big day of: Peyton & Elizabeth, I can’t say enough how amazing they are! They made our wedding day go so smoothly and just made it so special. The staff in general was amazing and so hard working. From the ceremony, to the cocktail hour, to our first/speeches, from the tastiest food ever + the fun dancing. We all had the best day ever! Our photographer - Grossmith Photography (Lauren) captured the best pictures on our day! We are so grateful for her!

Porta was a fantastic wedding venue. A huge shout out to their staff - we had a separate day of coordinator and she remarked to me multiple times how fantastic the Porta event staff was. They made the day run so smoothy. Their florist does INCREDIBLE work - the whole place is just a really unique and fun wedding venue. We had multiple guests remark it was the best food they've ever had at a wedding - and we couldn't agree more. Their pricing is affordable too - especially considering the location right off the boardwalk! Cannot recommend Porta enough as a wedding venue. -

BEST DAY EVER. We had our wedding here and it was truly such an amazing experience! When looking at venues, we wanted something that was unique, and when we saw Porta, we knew it was perfect. Chandler was so sweet and responsive to my million questions (thanks again girl). She reassured us that everything would be taken care of, and it was!! On our wedding day, Peyton and Elizabeth were so attentive!! They constantly checked on me and my husband, bringing us the appetizers, water, etc. The entire team took care of it all and we were able to dance the night away under the awesome disco ball installation. The food was to die for! Every single thing on the menu was a hit, including the cake! Honestly, everything about Porta was flawless. The team does a perfect job of taking care of everything for you. All you do it show up, eat, drink, and dance! Thank you, Porta team, for everything! -

Porta has been on my radar ever since I discovered they host weddings, and this was years before I ever got engaged. My husband and I loved the idea of doing something unique, different, and outside of the box and Porta delivered just that. The room itself is so stunning with fun and elegant details that bring you an aesthetically pleasing and moody environment that will keep everyone taking photos the entire night. The food is incredible and something your guests will be raving about - they provide you more than enough and go the extra mile of packing up every ounce of leftovers to take home (or even send home with your guests). You absolutely get your moneys worth and our guests have told us this was the best wedding they have been to. Their staff is so attentive and helpful from the planning process to the night of and made sure everything ran smoothly. We truly did not have to worry about a single thing and enjoyed every second of our wedding. I highly recommend Porta to anyone who is interested and am forever thankful to have chosen them to host the best day of our lives. -

Where do I start with this gem of a venue and every employee there? Let me start by saying we planned this wedding from across the country! We live in LA, but are Jersey natives so we wanted to tie the knot in the motherland. I am not really one for traditional wedding venues. Marble staircases, wineries, gardens...not my jam. We wanted a place that felt like us- fun, fabulous, and a tad funky. I mean...who doesn't want to get married under disco balls?
The EASE of this venue is wild. I talked to Chandler, event coordinator extraordinaire a few times throughout the year, and it was so effortless and laid back. We literally made a few decisions (dj, photographer, ) and that was it. They handle the rest.
Food: INSANE. family style pizza, pasta, salad. Forget the "steak chicken or fish" wedding nonsense. This is food everyone is excited to eat and will rave about after. They also boxed up our leftover pizzas which we brought to the bar for after party lol.
The staff of our wedding was incredible. They coordinate the ceremony, the room, all of it. I was never without a drink in my hand. My nephews were given ice cream, these people are just angelic.
I wish we could it all over again. Whenever anyone asked if I was stressed while planning I would just say "nope its all done. we're just showin up, baby!"
Also. Use their local Florist: Jersey Shore florist. Just do it. EXTREMELY affordable and just a couple of rad jersey dudes.
Porta is a dream. Best night of our lives.

Overview:
3 hour dinner family style (normal is 2hrs, we paid for an additional hour)
Abbott Room
No ceremony, no DJ - created our own playlist that was played from a Porta computer
"Grateful" food package, "Supreme" drink package, wedding florals and arch with greenery add-on, printed menus on tables, signature drink, sign on bar.
Brought our own additional decor: name sign, guest book and signs.
Like many couples, we eloped in 2020 during the pandemic and decided to have a delayed reception/ wedding celebration at a later date. We chose Porta because we were familiar with how good the food and drinks were but also how unique and fun the atmosphere is at their Asbury Park location. With the disco balls and quirky decor in the Abbot room, we knew it was the perfect space for our party to give it a somewhat casual but elevated and funky vibe.
Chandler was beyond helpful from our very first interaction, answering any and all questions, sending photos of previous events for reference, and a huge help in finding the right solutions for our budget. It really felt like a one-stop shop for anything we could have needed, and we had opportunity to add on decor and amend food and drink selections 2 weeks before the party when our guest list was finalized, so the flexibility ended up being a huge benefit for us in terms of deciding our final budget + where we wanted to save (smaller food package that ended up being more than enough) vs splurge (adding a flower arch behind the sweethearts' table, which I would highly recommend).
The in-house florist they use (Jersey Shore Florist) was also incredibly accommodating in answering questions and it was the perfect balance of communicative but autonomous which fit our needs perfectly. We were able to feel confident that with minimal direction the end result was going to be beautiful and I'm happy to say that we were correct!
Everything about our experience with Porta was amazing and the staff during the event were extremely attentive and made it so that we didn't have to worry or think about anything at all besides enjoying ourselves and spending time with our families. -

Have your wedding at porta!
if I can give couples one piece of wedding advise, it would be PICK PORTA AS YOUR VENUE! Literally every single thing was perfect. From the very first email exchange with Chandler to talking about how amazing the day was with all the wedding servers at the bar a week after our wedding, Porta was perfect! Chandler and Peyton were great to work with through all the planning. Elizabeth crushed the day of the wedding as well as all the servers. We have had a ton of people tell us our wedding was the best they’ve ever been to. If you want a wedding that’s out of the box and not your traditional ballroom, look no further! TRUST US! -

We chose Porta because the other traditional wedding venues we were looking at just didn't feel right. We had eaten there before, but actually booked the Abbot Room based on the photos alone since we couldn't visit due to Covid. We made the right choice. Chandler was a great help getting things organized in advance and the day of staff (shoutout Peyton and I think it was Elizabeth - Big Star for the win!) were incredible. They made sure we didn't have to worry about a thing. Beforehand, we were able to select cake, decor and floral packages directly from Porta to avoid having to coordinate multiple vendors. Day of, they took care of beautifully arranging all the specialized decor we dropped off, catered to some guests dietary needs and packaged up all the leftover food in convenient to-go boxes. Really, the staff - from the bartenders to the kitchen to the event coordinators - works like a well-oiled machine. It made things incredibly carefree for us. Plus, the Abbot Room makes for some really incredible and unique wedding shots. Wouldn't trade our wedding there for anything! -

We were looking for a small space in a restaurant to hold a 30ish guest wedding and we landed on the Monk room at Porta. We wanted a place with good food, good vibes and good drinks. Porta delivered on all accounts and then some! Chandler (the event coordinator) was always super responsive and helped us through the whole process. The cherry on top for us was that they would do the cake and decorations for us! They truly made it as worry free as possible and even let us play our music the day of!
The day of the event they gave a little bit of early access to the room to let us decorate and were very flexible. We held our ceremony there and then the food and drinks started! The server and bartender were great and didn't miss a beat! Everyone loved the food and atmosphere and wouldn't stop talking about the cake! The staff even packed up some of the food in takeaway containers in case people wanted to take some home. We do not regret our decision to have our wedding at Porta and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a similar venue! -

As a wedding photographer / filmmaker I LOVE shooting at Porta in Asbury Park. Its a beautiful wedding venue, with unique backdrops, delicious food and great staff. Relaxed but entertaining venue!
We were so happy with porta. The environment is relaxed but so much fun! Dj za was recommended by porta and we danced the night away. The set up had a good flow to it and the staff was so helpful. Each piece worked artfully from the animal paintings on the wall to the disco balls. Food was delicious! Our wedding was the best! And I'm so happy we chose porta !! The staff did amazing with the decorations, bar was centrally located and the outside part was great to get fresh air!!! Oh and the cake and Nutella pies... yum. -

I had my wedding at Porta and it was perfect!! The whole team was amazing…Chandler, Elizabeth, Peyton, DQ! The food (pizza, passed apps, Nutella pizza, fresh mozzarella) was delicious. We used Jersey Shore Florist for the flowers and they were better than I could have imagined. Porta makes the whole process very easy…from adding on a floral archway, to naked cakes with flowers, to pizza tastings, to disco balls lighting up the whole room, and animals on the walls. Porta is also very reasonable compared to everyone else’s prices. We had a wedding planner but you could do without one since they will have a team there for you the entire time. We had 120 guests and that was the perfect amount.
The only advice I would give is if you have some heavier set family members I wouldn’t put more than 8-9 people at a table so everyone can fit comfortably. -

My husband and I are still in awe over how amazing Porta is as a wedding venue. Chandler, the event manager, worked with us to make our vision come to life. She has incredible attention to details, is organized, quick response time, and over the top professionalism. On the day of the wedding, Peyton and Elizabeth, were completely on point- constantly checking in with us, asking us if we need anything, helping our guests with minor requests, etc. They truly made the day feel seamless. In general, Porta is such an awesome venue, everyone loved the food and desserts. All the Porta employees made our day absolutely perfect :) -

Pick Porta!!
As a couple searching for a beautiful & alternative wedding venue near the Jersey shore within an attainable price range, I cannot put into words what a perfect fit Porta was! Porta's entire event staff, in particular Chandler, was so helpful with planning the millions of details weddings require. From COVID 19 postponement to wedding decoration details / special requests, Porta was beyond accommodating and made our wedding day so special. I cannot recommend them enough! -

Going into wedding planning my now husband and I wanted a super low key yet fun space for our nuptials. Low and behold we reached out to Porta in Asbury Park and as soon as we stepped foot into the Abbot room we knew that was the space for us and what really pushed Porta over the competition was Chandler Vogel and her incredible support from our first meeting to the NUMEROUS emails I sent with the most ridiculous questions and requests. If we were to do it all over again we would choose Porta again and again. HIGHLY RECCOMEND! -

Where do I even begin? From the process of inquiring to our wedding day, working with Porta Asbury Park, and more importantly, Chandler, was the smoothest and easiest process.
My husband and I had decided to have a smaller wedding (just under 100 guests), and planned it in about 6 months, and all we wanted was 1) a beautiful space 2) GREAT good and 3) good drinks. As I’m sure most brides know, planning a wedding in that short amount of time is nearly impossible and I got laughed at a few times when inquiring with other venues. I actually held off on contacting Porta because I thought there was no way they’d have an opening for October 2021!
Boy, was I wrong. Not only was Chandler kind when she responded, she gave me options, set up a walkthrough and made everything so easy for me to understand so that if we decided to move forward, I had everything I needed to know to take care of the next steps. Meeting her (and seeing my husband’s reaction to the space) basically sealed the deal, and we signed our contract the next day.
Chandler made our entire planning process so easy, worry free (as worry free as one can be when planning a wedding, of course), and she was so on top of everything, and was very patient when I had questions. She paired me with Peyton and Elizabeth, who were just as wonderful, and really took care of all of the little details that are often under appreciated. If there’s one piece of advice I would give brides: just make sure you set up a chat with your day of coordinator in advance so if there are things you want to be VERY specific about, I recommend it. They were great regardless, and my sister/MOH helped sort out details the day of, but I think it would’ve helped clarify a few things!
We worked with a planner Jaqies Events for our decor, but we also tapped Porta and their florist, and it all came together so beautiful. I cried when I first saw the space… thanks to my planner and the wonderful team at Porta, it really was the wedding I had always wanted.
Lastly, the food and drinks. Let me tell you, my one biggest regret is that I barely got to eat at my wedding! Bless my MOH for chasing me to give me bites to eat, but for future couples planning their wedding here: take time for yourselves to eat. All I heard about for the next WEEK from our guests was how amazing the food was, that people were asking for seconds and thirds if they were still available, and everyone took home leftovers. (Side note: Elizabeth - thank you again for being the most attentive coordinator and packing up our leftovers because you saw I wasn’t able to sit down and eat!) I did get to enjoy the dessert and our cake (which they make in-house), and the signature drink we selected for our wedding!
If you needed a sign to have the perfect small wedding here, this is it. I miss our wedding day. I wouldn’t change a thing (except to actually eat more since the food was so good!), and I cannot thank Chandler and her team enough. She helped make our dream wedding a reality. ❤️ -

Chandler at Smith Made was a super star when helping me navigate my ever changing date at Porta due to the pandemic . I could not have asked for better service from Chandler. Porta was a superb venue to have my wedding at. They are well oiled machine over there. The food service was timely and the staff was excellent. There was always someone to help if need be. The Porta day of coordinators Peyton and Elizabeth made sure my night ran smoothly from start to finish. My husband and I, as well as our guests, are delighted our wedding ceremony and reception took place at Porta in Asbury Park, NJ. From the first e-mail sent to the venue, Chandler handled everything in a timely, and a professional manner. No question went unanswered, and as you can imagine there were many. The proposal issued covered everything from A to Z in a simple and informative way, and there were absolutely no problems adjusting any of the details, at any point. The food and drink package was incredible, we heard it from everyone, and had zero complaints! Heather and Chandler made sure we, and our guests had everything we needed during the day, they were most helpful with the set up, and the break down. We were busy off site during most of the set up, and they set up all our decor, seating chart, and all the memorabilia and accessories we brought absolutely perfectly. They also recommended other vendors, and they were also outstanding. We are thankful for everything they have done for us, and cannot recommend Porta and their team enough for your wedding day. -

We chose Porta as our venue because of its unique style, fun atmosphere, and delicious food. Chandler, the event planner, guided us through the entire process and answered all of our questions. Heather and the rest of the staff on the day of were amazing. The day ran so smoothly. Everything was decorated beautifully and any thing we needed or wanted was given to us! Our guests loved the food and the vibe at Porta and we got so many compliments. Thank you so much for giving us the wedding of our dreams. -

Porta is perfect!
We LOVED Porta as our wedding venue! Food, dancing, celebrating our love with loved ones and capturing it all was what was most important to us (and doing it without putting us in serious debt). We had our photographer, videographer, our friend officiated, we brought in local donuts from Purple Glaze to add to our dessert options, we used their house DJ, DJ Za who was amazing. We had a sweetheart cake for ourselves, and did a lot of DIY.
Not only were we left happy with our experience but guests (friends and close family... no obligatory invites), continue to tell us it's the best wedding they've ever been a guest at. Which is something people don't typically say if they don't mean it. I truly feel this is mostly attributed to the venue. We still get texts from friends/family who were guests who had never been to Porta saying, "We're back at Porta to eat!" That's how delicious the food is.
Porta will assist with planning, we already had a vision so for us it was getting approval. Chandler was our coordinator and she rocked. She answered our questions and we never had to hunt her down. Cocktail hour first was amazing (Friday at the shore, before the ceremony... I highly recommend this - and for every wedding), were are so happy we were able to do that. The wedding had to end a bit earlier than most since the room is turned into a club after but we had a rooftop afterparty at The Asbury Hotel and ended up at the diner after. All walking distance.
We had SO MUCH fun! And we found that what we were left with were the memories of how much fun we had which just really put the stamp of approval on our decisions. The space, the food, the staff... all amazing. I highly recommend! -

If you're thinking about Porta, stop and book it
After multiple changes for our wedding plans, we were SO happy after landing at Porta. They made us feel safe with covid friendly regulations, while still maximizing the amount of fun our guests had with AMAZING food, a big spacious dance floor, and accommodating almost every change and request we threw their way. Chandler was an absolute pleasure to work with, and answered my texts and emails usually within the hour. Almost every concern I came up with was already addressed by the staff of Porta before I could even ask. They've got it all figured out.. in the best way possible! It was so lovely to food, table decor, dessert, glassware and table wear all in house. I didn't have to lift a finger. Our guests were blown away by how this "alternative" venue was able to create such a dreamy atmosphere. I can't wait to go back to Porta to have our wedding menu time and again for dinner. I can't recommend Porta enough for a wedding! -

My husband and I had agreed on having a Porta wedding well before we were even engaged! We are from North Jersey, but absolutely love spending time down the Shore - especially in Asbury Park.
We ended up booking Porta- Asbury Park less than a month since we had gotten engaged - to us, it was a no brainer.
Our experience working with Chandler was awesome. She was super responsive, attentive and made the planning experience smooth.
We ended up using their recommended DJ/Media Company as well as their florist (Desiree Designs) - which was AMAZING!
Overall, it was a great experience - everything ended up working out and looking absolutely amazing!
So thankful for the Porta team for making sure our special day went as best as it could have! -

We held our rehearsal dinner here in the Monk Room and it couldn’t have been better. Everyone was remarking that it was hands-down the best food they’d ever had at a rehearsal dinner (and this is coming from a big Italian family with high expectations for pizza and other Italian dishes). The food was plentiful, fresh, and timed well throughout the evening. The drinks were excellent. The wait staff was exceptional ( the bartender was so kind in always making sure I (the bride) and the groom were happy and relaxed with drinks in hand). And the overall venue is just a perfect place for any event. We held an intimate rehearsal dinner in the Monk Room, and transitioned into welcome drinks out in the big room, which all of our guests were invited to join us for. Bonus, it’s a beautiful, fun, very photo-ready venue. -

Unforgettable night and experience
Walking into Porta and seeing my vision come to life was a surreal experience. The team at Porta was excellent. Food was amazing, staff was attentive and kind. -
