The Perfect Wedding Cake!

We had the best experience working with this cake maker for our wedding. She had cake tasting cakes ready to go so quickly and really made our wedding cake perfect. When we had some modifications we wanted to make to the cake before the big day, she was super accommodating and made our cake vision come to life! It also tasted DELICIOUS. If you are a lemon person, her lemon cake with lemon curd inside is incredible. It was the first flavor my husband and I agreed on - we instantly looked up at each other and stated, "this is the one!" She's great to work with and the cakes are amazing.

Were delicious!!

Had Heather make our macarons for my daughter’s wedding. They were so good the only thing I would do different would be is order more next time!

Beautiful cake

Heather is so wonderful, she is always very responsive. Her cake is always delicious (I use her for all birthday cakes) and she always does an amazing job replicating a Picture of what I want. She even came out to cut the cake for our wedding which was so great because that elevated stress on family to cut the cake for us.

Absolutly wonderful experience

Charlie & I wanted a mirror glaze cake. Heather made the comment that she had never tried that style but she was willing to try. She pulled it off beyond our expectations. It was beautiful and we had so many compliments. We also had Heather make up some cupcakes. Ummm ummm ummm they are so good and so many options. Since that time we've had Heather make 5 birthday cakes as well. It's such a pleasure to just send a message and know that things will be handled. I trust her to do what she says.

Beyond Amazing!

Heather made our cake and cupcakes for our wedding and they turned our AMAZING! She went above and beyond my expectations and couldn't get enough compliments from our guests on how tasty they were. My husband isn't a huge desserts guy but he ate plenty of cake and cupcakes over the weekend 🙂 I highly recommend Playful Cupcaketions for any type of event!

Amazing Cupcakes and service!

Heather was wonderful to work with! We had some event changes with our May wedding due to Covid & she was so great with the helping us with the changes we made. All of our guests absolutely loved the cupcakes and raved about how delicious they were. I can honestly say they were the best I've tasted. I highly recommend the mimosa and peanut butter chocolate cupcakes! The frosting is amazing! She also made wedding mints which are my favorite! I would highly recommend working with Heather for your wedding or any event! She was awesome to work with and the cupcakes were delicious! If we have another event in the Spirit Lake or Okoboji area, Heather is who we will call!!

Beautiful Cake, Great Taste, Great to work with

Heather is amazing. She makes beautiful cakes just how you imagine them. And the TASTE is amazing. We had so many comments on how good the cupcakes were. There are so many options and she will do exactly what you want. She was so easy to work with and helped us every step of the way in making our choices. It was great not having to worry about it on our big day. She worked great with our decorator as well. She made it so easy and everything was so beautiful. She really helped make our dream wedding come true. Thank you so much Heather, you are amazing!

Best cake and amazing service!

We highly recommend Playful Cupcaketions. Heather did our wedding cake and not only did it look absolutely stunning, it was the best cake we’ve ever had (many wedding guests compliment the cake also!) We had a three tier chocolate cake with white buttercream frosting. Heather made our vision come true by working with the florists to place some fresh flowers on the cake. For the guests, we did 7 sheet cakes. Chocolate chocolate, vanilla vanilla, strawberry and champagne and chocolate marshmallow. Heather is so easy to work with, delivered the cakes day of and displayed them beautifully!

Great experience!

We booked Heather to do our wedding cake and cupcakes. She was amazing to work with throughout the whole process. We got to taste a huge variety of her flavors before choosing what we wanted for the wedding. It was so hard to choose because they were all amazing! Not only did they taste great, but they looked awesome. I had so many compliments. We highly recommend her, and will use her for future events!

Best Wedding Cake & Customer Service Ever

My Husband and I highly recommend Playful Cupcaketios for any event you need a cake for. We used Heather for our wedding cake and it was the best cake we have ever had. She really went above and beyond our expectations. Everything from the design to the pink velvet flavor was great. The day before our wedding we were concerned that our cake stand wasn't going to be big enough for the cake and Heather opened her doors and allowed us to come test the stand with the cake. Not many people would do that when you are in a pinch and we are so glad that she did. We will continue to use Playful cupcaketion through all of lives events.

Excellent Experience! Amazing Cake and Cupcakes!!!

Heather was great to work with and made things easy and stress free. It was so hard to choose the cupcake flavors because they were all amazing! We went with the candy bar, pink velvet, and blueberry with filling; all perfectly frosted and pretty. The 2 tier cake was made with almond flavoring and was totally beautiful!!! Everything was flavorful, moist, and absolutely delicious!!!

Wonderful cake and cupcakes

We were so happy with how everything came out. She beautifully executed our cake vision, plus it was moist and delicious. She helped make directions for the floral to go with the wedding designers look. She set everything up and made the process seamless.

Outstanding Experience!

Playful Cupcaketions is simply the best. Heather is the easiest person to work with. She put my mind at ease while planning our wedding when it came to the desserts for our big day. Heather was extremely flexible as I lived out of town and was only able to do a taste testing while she was out of town. She left the cupcakes on her doorstep for us to pick up with enough for the whole family to try. Not only were the cupcakes delicious, but they were beautifully decorated. We received so many compliments and we could not have been happier! It was the best day ever with the help of Playful Cupcaketions.

I cannot say enough good things about Heather and her business. My sister had her cupcakes at her high school graduation 8 years ago and we've never gone anywhere else for cakes/cupcakes since. From my high school graduation to bridal shower cupcakes, and now wedding cake and cupcakes we are consistently amazed at the presentation and taste of her baking. At our reception we had so many compliments on the cupcakes as well! Thank you Heather, it was perfect!

Heather made the cakes for my wedding this summer and not only were they absolutely incredibly delicious, they were beautiful too! We did one two tier water color brush strokes cake and 3 sheet cakes so we could have various flavor options. Her vanilla is the best vanilla cake I’ve ever tasted and the caramel delight and carrot cake are amazing as well. You won’t regret having Heather take care of your special event. She was a delight to work with and the final product was stunning. I’ll try to remember to update this review with a photo when we get our wedding photos. Thank you, Heather!

Heather was great to work with throughout my wedding planning! Her cakes are delicious, which makes it hard to choose a flavor. My husband and I went with Strawberry Rhurbarb. It was delicious, and our guests raved about it. I also felt Playful Cupcaketions had reasonable prices. I highly recommend Heather and Playful Cupcaketions to anyone! We planned for 230 guests: a three tier cake and 3 pre cut sheet cakes.

Heathers cakes taste delicious and look as good as they taste. She did a great job on our wedding cake and cupcakes and since then, an amazing birthday cake too! We ordered both cake and cupcakes for our wedding from Heather after hearing rave reviews from others, and man, her creations did not disappoint! I am so glad we met Heather/Playful Cupcaketions at the Okoboji Bridal Convention a year and a half ago. My mom, grandma and I tried the Raspberry Vanilla cupcakes at the bridal show and knew from that moment that we wanted Heather to make our wedding cupcakes! The cupcakes that Heather prepared for our wedding day were absolutely PERFECT! I have never had such good cake at a wedding (no, I'm not just saying that since it was my wedding ;) ) They were so fresh and tasted like they were just baked, even at the end of the evening. They made it the hour drive to our venue and arrived just perfectly. I am already looking forward to eating our anniversary cake in a year! I am sure our guests would agree that they were absolutely delicious! Thank you again, Heather!

Originally I had a lady in Albert Lea, Minnesota set to do my wedding cake. At about 3 weeks to my wedding she called and said she could no longer do my cake. So I was slightly panicked, until I messaged Heather. She saved my wedding day by doing my cake. She did an AMAZING job. My wedding cake turned out exactly the way I wanted it. I can't thank Heather enough! I would highly recommend her to do all of your baking needs!

We highly recommend Playful Cupcaketions. Heather was very easy to work with and always responded to e-mails within an hour. The wedding cake and cupcakes were beautiful. We had six flavors of cupcakes and they were all delicious...hard to pick a favorite! We received many compliments from our guests. Heather delivered the cake and cupcakes on time and even set the cupcakes on the trays for us. We will definitely order from Playful Cupcaketions again.

Heather was absolutely amazing to work with from start to finish! She took the time to explain everything and was flexible and willing to work with my schedule to talk. The finished product was the best cake hands down that we have ever had! I actually am considering driving four hours again to get a cake. At the end of the night our eighty guests had eaten almost the whole three tier cake and all of the eighty cupcakes except six! To top it all off, there were problems with the delivery location and Heather went above and beyond to get the cake delivered despite the inconvenience! Thank you Heather so much for being part of our special day!

Heather made 4 kinds of cupcakes and a head table cake for my daughter's wedding. Everything was beautiful and SO delicious!! Many people had more than one cupcake! Heather is very easy to work with and on wedding day everything was delivered and set up on time. Would definitely recommend!

Heather did an amazing job on our wedding cake and cupcakes! We had a wedding cake, grooms cake as well as cupcakes for our guests. Everyone raved about it. She was quick to get back to me and was very flexible with our order. We communicated over email since that worked best for me being an out of town bride. I sent photos of what we wanted our cake to look like and it turned out beautifully. Everything tasted absolutely AMAZING! Thank you again :)

Heather with Playful Cupcaketions was excellent to work with and was very accommodating on our wedding day and the time of delivery we needed. She made our wedding cake exactly as we had in mind and used a picture that we sent her. We loved the many different flavors that she had available and actually ended up choosing four different flavors for our wedding day. The cupcakes and the cake were a huge hit with our guests as well! Heather was the one vendor on our wedding day that I did not have to worry about as she had everything under control and taken care of!! Thank you for all your help and the many delicious treats you made for us as we couldn't have asked for anything better on our wedding day!

Heather was awesome to work with. I gave her a picture of a wedding cake I liked, picked the flavors, and she did the rest! She was knowledgeable about portion sizes, flavors, and transportation. She was excellent at communication, I never had to worry about when I would hear from her.
On top of that, the cake was AMAZING. We had a tiered cake of vanilla, salted caramel and peanut butter cup. They were all wonderful. Guests were responding left and right how good it was! Thank you, Heather!

We had a rustic alice in wonderland wedding theme (not disney) & Heather did an amazing job on our 3 tier cake & almost 200 cupcakes. had a couple inspiration pics & told her to have fun with it. Everything was beautiful incl her rental stands, and the guests- and us- loved it all. We will def be using her again for family events etc n just cuz's as the flavor is delicious n decor looks great. She is also very nice n great to work with. Def recommend! I was so excited to see the cake on reception day & exceeded my expectations which is great cuz i'm picky lol.

The cupcakes were beautiful and delicious! When ordering them, I sent Heather a couple pictures of the colors in our wedding (dark teal, burnt orange, dark yellow) and she did them perfectly. She did a rose swirl design and even added a glittery touch to them to make them extra pretty. We had a lot of compliments from our guests on how beautiful they looked on the tables and how good they tasted! Heather was extremely responsive to my emails and I was able to pay her ahead of time and she delivered them to our venue.

We selected Playful Cupcations for our wedding because I tested some of her work at a Bridal Event. They were delicious then, just as much as they were delicious and beautiful for our special day! We had so many compliments on them too! Everyone enjoyed them so much! We definitely will recommend our friends and family to go to her next time they need some sweets for a special event! Heather was great to work with and all of her cupcakes are delicious. We had her make us a small 2 tier wedding cake and 200 cupcakes for our wedding in Okoboji and everything turned out gorgeous. We went with the chocolate merlot, peanut butter cup, strawberry cream, and candy bar cup cake flavors and they were a huge hit with all of our guests. The chocolate merlot is the best! Heather was also quick to respond whether it was through email or phone which was very important to us since we were doing all of our wedding planning from Texas and weren't able to do much of our planning in person. She delivered and set up the cake and cupcakes on the wood chips we rented from her and it looked fantastic. Definitely recommend her for any weddings and events!!

My wedding cakes were amazing and people are still asking me about them. We had an 8 inch Chocolate Chocolate, 6 inch White and 10 inch Carrot Cake on our 3 tier cake. Then we had 2 - 12x18 Sheet cakes of Candy Bar, 1 - 12x18 of Chocolate Chocolate and 1 - 12x18 sheet cake of Rumchata. We had about 300 people and very little cake left over. We did keep the 6 inch for our 1 year anniversary. All of the flavors were a big hit, but the Candy Bar Cake was the biggest hit. It is so unique with the peanut butter frosting and the chocolate filling! It is soooooo yummy!! Playful Cupcaketions has such a huge selection of flavors and they are always so moist! I tried a cupcake from "Scratch" while we were in Cedar Falls and they are nothing special compared to the ones we tried from Playful Cupcaketions. We had so many flavors that we wanted to try out for the wedding that we bought a dozen cupcakes in 12 different flavors and taste tested them all week. That was a great way to narrow it down to a few different choices. A lot of people commented on how it was so nice to have out of the box flavors and so many of them. I highly recommend Playful Cupcaketions for any event!! Heather was so easy to work with and such a sweetheart. They do cost a little more than a Hy-Vee or Wal-Mart sheet cake, but they are not even in the same league. They don't even bake their own cakes(they come frozen) and they are rarely moist. Playful Cupcaketions are made to order and so worth the price!!

Heather did an amazing job with our 400 mini cupcakes in 5 yummy flavors for our daughter's wedding reception. We got many great compliments on them...it was hard to choose which flavor to eat! I was highly recommended to use Heather, Playful Cupcaketions for a styled wedding shoot that I was doing at the Mansion in Spencer, Iowa. Heather was more than helpful in helping me to decide what desserts we wanted for our lavish shoot. The cakes that she came up with were beyond my expectations. She was a pleasure to have on our team. Oh, and the cake tasted DELICIOUS.

All of our expectations were exceeded! She came and set up our cake and cupcakes at our reception so we didn't have To worry about any of it! But, most importantly, her cakes are delicious and the presentation is beautiful! We got so many compliments!!

Heather did area-themed cupcakes for my rehearsal dinner and the cake for my wedding. I e-mailed her with a picture of the cakes I liked and the flavors we were interested in. While another vendor in town tried to talk me out of a real four tier cake for logistical reasons, Heather made it clear she wanted me to have the cake I dreamed about. It all turned out beautifully, and I never had to worry. She delivered the cakes right to the venue and had them set up before I even arrived.
