After driving up and down Key Largo, we ran into Marissa at Playa Largo. She was responsive and knowledgable from day one! Not only was Marissa wonderful to work with, but the venue was absolutely beautiful!
We hosted our rehearsal dinner at Sol by the Sea with Uncle Ricky as our chef! The staff was attentive and fun. Our meals were delicious and the package included an amazing turtle cheesecake!
The main event went better than I could have imagined! Marissa and her team took care of all the details and our wedding went smoother than I expected!
Our guests had a wonderful time enjoying the resort for the weekend and there were nothing but smiles. We are so grateful to have found this gem and will forever have beautiful memories of our Playa Largo Wedding weekend! Thank you Marissa and all of your team! I highly recommend this venue! -

The team at Playa Largo really made our wedding weekend the ultimate experience. Everyone worked together to make sure that our rehearsal dinner, wedding and farewell BBQ went amazingly. The planning and effort that went into every aspect of our weekend were clearly evident as things could not have gone smoother. This helped everything come together for everyone to enjoy but also it allowed us to enjoy the weekend without feeling like we had to be worried. On top of all of this they took great care of our accommodations and made our stay unforgettable! -

As soon as we stepped on playa largos property we knew we didn’t have to look anymore for our wedding venue! It was everything we ever dreamed of for our special day.

The very start to the very end. When I say she is the reason why our wedding was so
Special and so perfect it was truly because she went above & beyond for everything possible.
Planning a wedding during a pandemic and having to postpone/ find a new date is exhausting in itself. Kennedy made this stressful time, easy and still so exciting.
It’s rare to find someone who cares so much about the people she is working with and their families and we can’t thank her enough! Our wedding day was so picture perfect and all of the days leading up were too.
Amazing communication with the playa largo staff and gorgeous resort!

If you are considering a wedding or event at Playa Largo def. Expect nothing less than Epic!
We chose the venue before the Pandemic and we pulled off a 160 guest wedding without any glitches and not one guest contracting the virus.
From our welcome evening through the entire wedding and weekend the hotel staff ,hospitality and catering were superb .
I cannot say enough about the administration from the room bookings , catering , valet ,hospitality all the vendors went over and above to make our daughters dream wedding come true . We were not just guest but we felt part of the Marriott family. Thank you again for going over and beyond !
It was a picture perfect weekend in every way . Thank You for the memory . -

Destination Wedding resort
Playa Largo Resort is absolutely stunning Resort to have a destination wedding. Management (Andriel) and Coordinator (Kennedy) were beyond words amazing by keeping to their word to making our Wedding week awesome. Going above and beyond our expectations for us and our guests. The versatility of the Resort was key. They couldn't control Mother Nature, however our Plan B went absolutely just as beautiful. If you are choosing to have a Destination Wedding, Playa Largo Resort needs to be considered. They are able to accommodate all aspects of your event. From rooms, catering and so much more. We are forever grateful for Andriel, Kennedy and the entire staff of Playa Largo Resort for making our Wedding week memorable and never to be forgotten by us or our guests. 🙏🕊💙Playa Largo Resort & Spa's reply:

I would recommend Playa Largo to any couple looking to have their wedding in the Keys! We visited at least 8 venues in Key Largo and Islamorada before choosing a venue and Playa Largo offered the most bang for your buck and versatility in planning the perfect location for ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. The staff was extremely professional and prompt in answering any questions we had along the way and worked with us whenever we needed to make changes!! I can't say enough good things about our experience. The event team was unbelievable and made sure the entire week leading up to the wedding day went flawlessly! They also have an amazing vendor list for planners, florists, photographers etc. so I would recommend to anyone having a wedding in the keys...highly recommend this venue and event team!

Beach House Wedding:
We got married on 10.16.19
We are from New Hampshire, we knew we wanted a destination wedding. we booked this venue after canceling with another local venue.
Kennedy was great, she went above and beyond to make sure our wedding happened.
We booked this venue rather quickly... we booked it without actually seeing it in person. When we arrived I was in awe. The house is insanely beautiful, and the view was breathtaking.
Our wedding was a dream come true and more. We got married on the little beach next to the house, and the reception was on the lawn. We had the time of our lives!! Monai is awesome too! She made sure everything went off without a hitch! She was great from the moment I booked until our wedding was over. Playa Largo Resort & Spa is incredible. So happy we chose there to get married!! -

It was one of the most beautiful experience in at the keys. The service was outstanding at any time: during breakfast, at the pool, during the wedding outdoors (it was raining and those employees setup those tables twice. I could n't believe all the effort they were putting to make it memorable. I am amazed to see the courtesy and professionalism of all of them. -

Beautiful place and great service.
The only venue that was open to work with me and make it possible. They really went the extra mile to accommodate my needs. Their team is amazing! very responsive, patience and collaborative. The property is really pretty!!! Have the best sunset, pool , open sea and service. The food was delicious and they have a good selection of vendors that work with them. We had the best time and memories. Hope to be back soon. -

Our wedding was August 3, my sales consultant was monai raney she is very professional she was on point it was a pleasure to work with her. We made several changes through out planning event but she worked with us always. The banquet food was on time and delicious. I give playa largo a 5 star. -

Wow! Just wow! I don't know where to begin with how awesome this place was. We went for a smaller more intimate wedding at the Breathtaking Beach House and I have to say the service that was provided to us on our special day was spectacular. A very special shout out to Monai who went above and beyond to help in so many ways. Everything from setup to ceremony to reception was absolutely perfect! The views are to die for which make for some really great photos and videography. I highly recommend this place for any special occasion. Thank you Playa Largo for capturing our vision and making our special day come true. -

We decided to get married in Key Largo as it was easy and quick-ish to get to. When doing research on locations, this venue was one of the first that caught my eye. It is a newer resort, with top notch amenities, and a seriously gorgeous beach. We visited about 1 year prior to our event to get a full tour of the location (which is HUGE), and we got to taste some menu options. After that visit, I was even more excited for our big day! Upon arriving we got to meet the event manager on site, Monai, and she was so warm and welcoming - she even surprised us with a welcome treat! Our event went off without a hitch and I have to thank the spectacular staff for that, from bartenders to managers, they were all so wonderful! Our friends and family are still raving about how beautiful the location was and it warms my heart deeply that we found such a perfect place. Our guest count was somewhat large for a destination wedding, but they can accommodate any size guest count. If you are looking for the perfect destination wedding spot in the Keys, seriously, look no further! -

Carol Sent on 08/29/2018We had our dream wedding at Playa Largo on May 5, 2018. It was a beautiful weekend filled with love, laughter, food, drinks and fun! PL helped us every step of the way. Most of our guests stayed here as well and they loved it. It is super modern, clean and comfortable. The staff is very accomodating and make you feel extra special. Once you're there, you don't want to leave! The catering department made sure all of our requests and desires were met. I would do it all over again in a heart beat!! We've been to PL many times outside of our wedding and we plan on going many more times in our future. :)

Melanie Sent on 12/18/2017We had our amazing wedding here December 10, 2017. We are so glad that we had our wedding at playa largo. All the venues they offer are gorgeous. We had our ceremony at the gazebo, our cocktail hour by the pool bar, on the deck and our reception in the ballroom. The food was just fantastic. Our guests are still talking about how flavorful and good the food was. We had filet mignonette and Mahi Mahi. The filet was so tender, you could probably cut it with a fork. Blanca was fantastic and easy to work with. She was quick to respond to emails and she made sure we got everything that we asked her for. She is willing to help you in any way that she can. The entire hotel staff and wait staff are very friendly and always make sure you are having a good time. Playa largo offers 5 star service. If you want the most beautiful venue for your wedding, I highly recommend having your wedding at playa largo resort.

This resort is elegance at its finest, which in this day and age- can sometimes be tough to find. We were just about to book another 5 star resort in Naples, FL when fate stepped in and they were fully booked. March 2016 I happened to see on wedding wire the start of a "brand new resort" in the Florida Keys, which was still under construction. Living in England, having never stepped foot in the FL Keys, and then committing to book a hotel that wasn't even finished being built yet for our dream wedding wasn't a decision we took lightly but from the moment we spoke to Wendy Medeiros-Cole, we instantly knew this was the place for us and all our friends and family from all over the world. Fast forward over 14 months later, we checked in Friday for our Tuesday wedding and we were whisked away to one of the top honeymoon suites. (Seriously Wendy made sure we had the best side of the hotel.) We were taken care of to an extent that you would have thought you were the only guests on earth to this resort. Anyone can build a brand new resort but Playa Largo's staff goes above and beyond the call of duty. Once we were checked in, champagne and a personal note from Wendy awaited along with several beach bags from Wendy! Which champagne and strawberries are one thing- but to have two beach bags given to you, is so kind and generous!!) We had guests fly in from all over England and America and everyone is still talking about how gorgeous this property is. From their pool, to their spectacular sunsets with the ringing of the bell each day, to their amazing restaurants- you couldn't dream up a better resort. Patrick ,Wendy, Sarah, Amy, Nicola, John at the Las Olas, Jeff, and countless others... thank you for making us feel like the most important people in the world. You all just took care of all of our 55+ guests for over 7 days. Playa Largo, you owe everything to Wendy! She is more than spectacular!! -

Carin Sent on 10/13/2016As a wedding planner, choosing your own wedding ceremony location is key. I knew my guests would be blown away when I found Playa Largo Resort. I booked far before their completion date which was a little worrisome, but as a finished product the resort is breathtaking! I worked with Elizabeth and Wendy on all the plans and they were excellent. They didn't mind my several site visits during the construction and were very accommodating on keeping us informed on progress. Wendy was available on the day of to oversee the event. She was helpful and detailed to make sure everything went off without a hitch!
We held our ceremony of 180 guests on the Ceremony Lawn in front of the gazebo, followed by a cocktail hour on the beach. The passed hors d'oeuvres and bar service was wonderful. About 40 of our guests enjoyed their stay at the resort. All I can say is that it was everything I hoped and dreamed for, I wish I could do it all again! And that's big shoes to fill for a wedding planners wedding! Thank you Playa Largo for everything!!! Looking forward to visiting again soon! -

Our wedding party stayed in the beach house and bungalows, and had the welcome BBQ in the ballroom, the ceremony and cocktail hour on North Beach, reception on the event lawn, and goodbye brunch in La Marea. I can't say enough good things about this place- it was gorgeous, the staff was friendly and accommodating, the food was delicious, the accommodations and facilities were both high quality yet relaxed, etc. All of our guests LOVED this venue, as it was the perfect point place for everyone to come together and hang out for an entire weekend. The views of the sunset are also incredible and set this venue above lots of other potential venues in the keys. Would HIGHLY recommend Playa Largo.

We had our wedding at the gazebo and every single staff member made us feel like the most special guests they'd ever had! Friendly, personable and attentive are just some of the words I'd use to describe them. The resort is gorgeous, the food was superb and we will definitely be going back!

The Dreamiest Venue
I could picture myself getting married at Playa Largo while visiting as a guest prior to engagement. When my now husband and I got engaged, Playa Largo was our first thought. The venue was so accommodating and said "yes" to every request we had, small or large. The setting and back drop was dreamy and had our guests gushing about the experience. It was the most beautiful day of our lives thanks to Playa Largo! -

The perfect wedding weekend
My husband and I were married at Playa Largo on June 9, 2018. We were supposed to be married at Postcard Inn however due to Hurricane Irma they were closed and could not give us a date when they would reopen. After searching all of the Keys for a new location we happened upon Playa Largo and what luck! They were so accommodating and made us feel so much better about all of the troubles we'd had with getting a venue. They went above and beyond at every step. Our Catering Manager was Kelsey and she was great! On the day of our wedding the team had set up outdoors for our ceremony and reception and of course, true to South Florida, 30 minutes before the start of our wedding the rain clouds rolled in. Kelsey asked my husband and I if we wanted to move the wedding inside, to which we both unknowingly said absolutely not, we'll get married in the rain. Kelsey made the call to postpone the ceremony for half and hour and the team broke down everything they had set up for the ceremony and reception, waited for the rain to pass and then reset the whole event. To us, that meant everything that they would do all of that work simply because we wanted to be married on the beach. And because of Kelsey's call to delay we had the most amazing sunset right at the start of our reception. There were also dolphins jumping in the water behind us during our ceremony so that was pretty awesome. I can't say enough about the entire weekend and the team at Playa Largo. My husband and I visited this gorgeous resort and fell in love with it in February 2021. We knew we wanted to get married here, so we met with the on-site "wedding planner/coordinator," Jo Marie Laron, (official title - catering sales manager). After we signed the contract, we got an automatic out of office reply to almost every single email we sent. We had to follow up a hand full of times before being told our contact Jo Laron was no longer there. Kennedy helped us for a couple of days and then told us she was leaving, so Fiona O'Connor was now our contact. Fiona, the director of catering, was responsive, but was always too busy to answer questions of confirm information we needed to be able to book other vendors. I understand how busy they were, considering how beautiful the place is, but it took from April until June, AND our wedding planner showing up to the resort on our behalf, to even get a response about doing a food tasting. Thats when Fiona handed us off to the brand new event manager, Sahily Acuna. At this point we had been through 4 different coordinators. Sahily was clearly overwhelmed and tried to be helpful when we could get her on the phone. Many emails and follow up emails went without response. It was nerve racking and frustrating. Not the happy experience a bride should expect planning her wedding. The banquet event order was still incorrect the afternoon of the day before the wedding! None of my guests' rooms were ready to check in before the rehearsal dinner and so we had to start late and felt rushed. Most of the details came together thanks to all of my vendors, and the wedding and reception were beautiful. But catering ran out of salad dressing, and instead of going to the store and getting more or substituting a different type of salad, they served Caesar salads without dressing - an embarrassing plate of plain lettuce. We had booked cabanas by the pool for the next day's send off party. The servers never greeted us and were nowhere to be seen for several hours. My guests had to go to the bar and pay for food and drinks, when that was supposed to be included in the packages selected for the cabanas. That was a total failure. Overall, I would suggest the venue for a wedding if you really love it. But make sure you hire a wedding planner familiar with the resort that can go fight for you because the resort staff are extremely difficult to communicate and plan with. They need better event management and customer service skills. -
