Don't Look Any Further

We are so happy we hired Chris and Photoplay Photography. We have nothing but great things to say about her and her business. We hit it off with her right away. She's incredibly genuine and easy to work with. The quality of her work is impeccable, and her prices are very reasonable. Our engagement shoot was complimentary with our wedding package. She took a great variety of photos, from romantic to serious to playful. On the day of the wedding she was on time and very thorough with her shots, making sure that we had every possible combination of family that we would have wanted. We had two photographers for the duration of our ceremony and reception.
When we received our photos we were blown away with how beautiful they were, and the great care she took to capture every moment of our special day. Chris is professional in her demeanor and true to her word. If you hire her, you can rest assured that you are going to have stunning wedding photography from people who will treat you like family.

Chris did an amazing job for my wedding two weeks ago. So far I have received my sneak peak photos which have me over the moon! She said that she already has the prints ordered and will be sent to me in the next week. I am so impressed with how quickly she was able to turn them around for me. She did a great job at the wedding. My husband did not want to spend forever doing after ceremony photos so that we could join the cocktail portion of the event. Chris did such a great job of keeping everyone focused and taking all the pictures that I had requested prior to the wedding. She showed up early and left after expected time. I am very happy with my decision!

Chris helped me feel at ease from day one. She worked extremely well with our strict timeline and was able to capture numerous varied shots.
Pricing was so reasonable and it was a hassle free process obtaining our gorgeous photos!!

She was great for our wedding- knew exactly who to have in what shot and how to be positioned in a time-efficient manner (which is not easy to do with all the family members, bridal party, and everyone else you want in photos). She was professional and kind during the whole day capturing beautiful both the formal, staged photos as well as the adorable impromptu ones that you treasure even more! She's also great working with small kids in your bridal party so they feel more comfortable. Highly recommend!

I would highly recommend Photoplay Photography to anyone looking for a wedding photographer. My husband and I had such a pleasant and flawless experience with the owner, Chris and her team! She is so genuine and makes you feel comfortable in front of the camera! Our engagement photos and our wedding photos were amazing, classic, and PERFECT in every way! Every detail was captured and after your event, you are given all of your photos in both a digital and hard copy! Photoplay Photography is very professional and they even traveled to accommodate my wedding. I recommend this photographer with great confidence and can assure you that you will be in great, caring hands!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Chris. She did an absolutely amazing job at our wedding. My husband hates getting his photo taken but her and her assistant did such a great job at making him feel at ease. They were so great with the whole wedding party, everyone loved both of them. They got such a great variety of shots for us (posed, candid, silly, serious, etc.). They were patient, calm and fun. I never felt rushed. It was pouring rain the whole day of my wedding but Chris still managed to get a lot of really pretty photos for us even though I wasn’t able to get my outdoors shots as planned. She was very creative and patient in dealing with the rain etc. She also took her time to make sure she got all of the photos on my list, some of which were very large family group shots. She also got an amazing amount of candid shots, which were some of my favorites. She got us our photos and prints very quickly after the wedding. She also worked patiently with me afterwards to do some additional detailed edits to a few photos and they came out so good. I am so glad that we chose Chris for our wedding photographer, thanks to her we have beautiful photos to remember our special day.

I am beyond pleased that my planner linked me up with Chris. She made my husband and I feel so comfortable with her. From the engagement pictures to the wedding photos she was absolutely amazing. i am so happy we booked her for our wedding. She captured so many moments and i was so surprised about the amount of photos that were taken. She got EVERYTHING!!!!! Chris was professional and ON TIME!!! She went above and beyond to make sure that my day was PERFECT!! There are not enough thank you's in the world i can give her to show my gratitude and appreciation for a job well done!!! Her prices are incredibly reasonable. For everything I received I expected to pay a lot more!!! Would definitely book her again for our maternity photos (in the future) and refer her to anyone looking for a GREAT PHOTOGRAPHER!!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, AND ABSOLUTELY LOVE HER TO PIECES!!!!

Chris was by far our favorite vendor to work with! She was always professional and on time. We love all of our pictures from the engagement session to the bridal session to our big wedding day! Chris Marsh photographed my wedding in October of this year. I met Chris at a bridal show and I was immediately attracted to her style of photography and the fact that she was not afraid to do pictures with live animals. Chris went over and beyond to make my day special! She not only took over 1,500 pictures of my wedding and gave me a print of each, the digital copies of each, and the rights to them all, for an amazing price, she also did our engagement photos. Chris was professional, on time, and prepared for our wedding day. Even though my event was running late due to a flower catastrophe and it was raining, she still managed to get all of our pictures done, even some outside, and we were on time for the ceremony. I would recommend Chris to anyone. I plan to have Chris continue to take our photos throughout our life, she has become like family.

From our first meeting with Chris, we knew we wanted her as our photographer at our wedding and reception. She was very kind, humble, and caring. She was also organized and professional. It seemed like she wasn't just doing another job, but that she was excited for us on our special day and honored to be a part of it. When it came time for the wedding, she guided us through when to take the formal pictures with family and friends. Even during the reception, she did a great job on how to stand for the cutting of the cake and other moments in the reception that a couple would want to have forever. When we had our last meeting with her after the wedding, she had all of the photos she took on a thumb drive AND hard copies of them! It was great, because we had photos to stick in photo albums and a thumb drive, so we could print more out if we wanted! Would I use her for other special days that should be remembered? Without a doubt I would! I wouldn't go to anyone else! Thanks again Chris!

I can't say enough good things about working with Chris Marsh! She has the biggest heart and such an eye for bringing out the individual aspects that make a couple's big day their own! From our first meeting I knew I wanted to work with her, she picked up on the heart of my and my husband's relationship. We hit a snag when she tried to get the print done for my bridal portrait- the company she works with sent her a print with a dent in it. Chris went to bat for us and handled the issue knowing it was the last week before the wedding and we were slammed. She made the company correct it and took care of having it framed for me so that I didn't get behind on my final to do list that last week. In choosing my vendors of course talent was a huge factor, but almost as important to me is working with a real person who cares. Chris is that rare person who combines talent with heart. Take a look at her website and it's obvious how talented and creative she is- that's what got me to contact her. But what really sold me was the person behind the talent. Chris is amazing! She was always there to answer a question, she was flexible on timing for both the engagement pictures and day off stuff. We kept changing our minds as to when we wanted her there that day and she was flexible with whatever we decided. She also had our pictures (prints and digital) waiting for us when we got back from our honeymoon.

Chris was wonderful to work with. Had some great suggestions regarding pictures and pictures absolutely captured the day perfectly. Was able to get so many great pictures without any ever noticing she or her assistant were there. Proofs delivered within a couple of weeks. You have rights to prints which means that you, family and friends can make as many copies of pictures as you want. Also had a package that included a smaller sized wedding album that was identical to bride/groom album to give to parents of bride and groom.

Chris was one of the greatest things about my wedding. She was a Wonderful value, got Great pictures, and was so personalble and friendly. She went out of her way to buy a frame for my bridal portrait because she knew how busy i was the week of my wedding. She also called on the morning of my wedding to make sure that i was doing okay and to ask if i needed anything. Her prices were great but she was worth double what i paid her. I would hire her again in a minute, and reccommend her to everyone i know.

Chris did an amazing job! From the moment we met her, we knew immediately we wanted to book with her. She had such an open, honest and fun personality. She did my bridals, boudoirs and of course, our wedding photos. I cannot say how impressed I am at the photos she was taken and I have not even seen them all. The moment I meet Chris she has been nothing but a joy to work with. She eased my mind of any worry because this is her career and passion that she takes seriously and has been doing for a long time. Working with Photoplay Photography was the most stress-free part of planning our wedding, and by far our best investment. My husband and I spoke to many photographers before we found Photoplay, and not one of them offered a package as reasonably priced and complete as Chris did. She did not shy away from our small budget or the traveling distance from Charlotte to Morganton. Our wedding photos are beautiful, creative, and original. We couldn't be more pleased! Chris Marsh's professionalism and expertise are definitely deserving of a 5/5 rating! She is wonderful to work with and we highly recommend her.

Chris and her team are, quite simply, the best money I spent on my wedding. In addition to being incredible easy to work with (email savvy, super responsive, and generally pleasant), Chris was AMAZING on the day of the wedding.

She was supportive and organized. She lined up shots with care and made sure all the "details" were simply perfect.

Of course, with that degree of execution, it goes without saying but I will say it anyway - the pictures were sensational. I received two boxes of beautiful prints plus digital images. Incredible service, awesome price, and amazing results.

This is ABSOLUTELY the photographer you want.

Chris was very helpful in making our wedding day run as smoothly as possible. She was there to ensure all events and special moments were captured. Chris is the best! You can't go wrong with Photoplay photography. My wedding was over two years ago and Chris and I are still in touch and I am still ordering photos! She was so helpful before, during, and after the wedding. Chris makes it a personal experience and gets to know you rather than just viewing it as a job. I was so pleased with my photos and received everything so quickly right after the wedding. She did both my bridal portraits and my wedding, and I was blown away with the shots she was able to capture. She provides a nice mix of creative and traditional shots so you get a little bit of everything, and she makes sure to get all of the photos you want. I had nothing but a positive experience with Chris, and I'm looking forward to her shooting my friend's wedding this coming spring! Thanks Chris!

Photoplay shot our wedding in March and when we got our proofs back they were fantastic. Chris was our photographer and she was great to work with. Our shots our very creative but we got a good mix of candids and traditional. We enjoyed working with most of our vendors but I must say that Chris did an outstanding job and we are very happy that we went with her.

We were so happy to have booked Chris for our wedding after having heard so many wonderful things from two friends who used Photoplay for their weddings. Our experience working with her was wonderful. We found Chris to be highly professional, completely genuine and very talented. Our wedding pictures were gorgeous and our album which we got back this week was beautiful. We are very happy to say the least.

One of the best decisions we've made for our wedding was hiring Chris to be our photographer.
We had a very large, two days event with lots of cultural traditions. Chris was so accommodating, very understanding, and most of all so professional. We're absolutely amazed at how our wedding photos turned out, We just got them yesterday, and we still can't stop looking at them. She and her lovely assistant really captured every single moment!!
We'll def use her for any future occasions.
P.s. her photo delivery packaging is also beautiful!! She really did a good job!

Selecting a photographer for a wedding can be a daunting experience especially if you are trying to stick to a budget, which was important to us. By the time that we found Photoplay Photography we were starting to think that we would never find anyone who could take beautiful pictures and charge a reasonable price. Well, having just received and looked at over 800 photos, my husband and I can tell you that Chris Marsh is the best vendor investment that we made in our daughter's wedding! Not only was she professional but she was also kind and patient enough to take the time to explain a lot of details that we hadn't thought of before, which helped to put our minds at ease. Simply put, she was everything we had hoped for and much, much more and we would highly recommend her and her company.

This review was only a sample of what Chris contributed to the wedding day but we wanted to thank you, Chris for everything you did and for giving us the opportunity to relive our daughter's wedding everyday through your gorgeous photographs.

Do make photo shot list. Also, make time to think about where you want to take photographs together. Make sure you check out the places with your photographer before the wedding... especially, if they are out of town.

Chris Marsh was our photographer from Photoplay. We thoroughly enjoyed working with her and her staff over the past year. Chris is professional but a lot of fun and our guests adored her. You can not put a price on the quality and quantity of pictures she took at our wedding but we found her to be by far the most reasonably priced photographer in our area. She is so patient and kind that she took the stress away from us even concerning ourselves with photography of our wedding. I knew our day was in her very capable hands and she did not disappoint. I'd highly recommend her to any of my friends and I have already sent a client her way.

Chris was great to work with. She has an easy-going personality. We particularly liked getting our finished product in hard copy prints---1200 of them! There were lots of great candids. Since we and our families are not accustomed to photoshoots, posing and such we may have benefitted from more directions in this area regarding arrangement and posture.

Chris was a pleasure to work with! So sweet & very easy to get along with, which made the initial meetings & planning process go smoothly!! I was very happy that she comes with an assistant photographer, so it was like getting 2 for 1. Like many people often say, I didn't even notice she was there. She's very "behind the scenes", no frills and knows not to interrupt special moments or pull you away too often. Basically let's you be in control of what you want & how you want it. Chris was flexible enough at the last minute to stay an extra hour, even though that wasn't in the initial contract. She also kept people away from the cupcake table after she noticed people were eating them all before dinner! All these little things make Chris someone you want on your wedding team. We got over 1000 proofs to keep, along with photo CD's.

I do wish I had been even more specific ahead of time about some formal pictures I wanted or people I wanted pictures of/with. I just got so caught up in the day & it's craziness that I forgot. It was such a beautiful spring day so we took pictures outside of church & I wasn't really thinking that the bridesmaids green dresses would match the grass & the leaves on the trees. I wish we had shot those bridesmaid pictures at a different location so the dresses stood out more, instead of blending in. It was just too much green! I would rather have taken them at the reception site instead, but again, I was so busy caught up being the bride, that it didn't hit me until later on. I wish we had done more of the bride & bridal party shots at the reception location, which was a little more scenic. Mostly my fault & I should have thought about all that before the wedding day & gone over that with Chris, but it didn't hit me until afterwards when I was reliving the day. Overall, Chris is a wonderful photographer & does beautiful work!!!

Chris with Photoplay was our photographer for our April wedding. She was wonderful to work with and by far the best value for our money. We looked at a lot of photographers and Chris was the hands down winner. She was professional but very sweet and attentive to our every need. Our pictures are beautiful and Chris we tell everyone that she was our best vendor to work with.

Chris was fantastic! She provided 1,500 print copies of our pictures along with a USB with that and more. Gives you a lot of options and a sweetheart to work with!

Chris did an excellent job for our wedding. The stress that comes along with planning a wedding decreased a little when we came across her! From the initial meeting to the actual big day, everything went smoothly. Her service are very reasonable and definitely worth it!

I do not recommend using Chris for your wedding. Per her request, I gave her a shot list of all the photos we wanted and yet, we never took some of the photos on our list. Because of her, I do not have a photograph of me and my only brother. She also took us out of the reception 3 separate times to take photos, which threw off the time line for the entire reception. She admitted later that she took us out of the reception because she forgot about taking photos of us with our 55 Chevy Belair. The venue I chose was near a lake and I wanted the lake to be featured, she decided to take photos of us in the woods rather than near the lake. My groom was able to take fun photos with his groomsmen, but she never took the same time of photos with me and my bridesmaids. During the reception, she took an extra-long dinner break. She admitted to witnessing the kids play and how cute it was, but never bothered to take a photo of it. She also acted VERY unprofessionally when she cussed out our DJ for announcing us into the reception before she was ready. When it came down to paying the second half of our deposit, we tried to negotiate the price down based on our low level of satisfaction. She was unwilling to even discuss the possibility of lowering the price or doing anything to raise our satisfaction.
