Captured our Day with Style, Artistry, & Beauty.

Photography G gets it!! Garrett and Kellie are professional, organized responsive, and easy to work with. Ok the business side out of the way... They are seriously awesome people. They love dogs, Denver, clearly enjoy people and the camera. They bring out something you may not even knew was there. It was a struggle to write the review because how to you even speak to someone giving you the most amazing pictures of a day that is so important. How do you speak to the enormity of what it means to us? Zach and I are shy in front of the camera. We are not center of attention people. Garrett made us feel super comfortable. Kellie made sure things were just right before the snaps. Garrett made us look like magazine covers, but not in a fake way. He captured very special and touching moments. And the thing is we never even saw them. They were everywhere and nowhere. I remember saying to Zach I am a bit worried did we get enough pictures... I don't know if we did. And then the gallery came back. WOW. There was the right amount without being took many and overwhelming. They were images of touching and special moments. The pictures are so beautiful that I cannot find any bad ones. The thumb drive you get is so nice. We can only imagine how gorgeous the album will be as soon as these newlyweds finish selecting!! Thank you and I hope we can meet up at Red Rocks for anniversary pictures through the years or even grab a drink when we are in Denver next time.
When we planned our pandemic wedding from out of state there were certain key things that we needed. A killer dress, Red Rocks, and an amazing photographer who can make us less anxious with the attention were the key items for me as the bride. We got that for sure and then some. Thank you both for the video chats, emails, Live Photos before we arrived and were worried about the smoke, and of Course for the day of images that captured everything! Photography is not an areas to skimp on and choosing someone from out of state can be daunting however meeting you guys on the video chat and listening to how you describe your work, we felt like it was a fit from that moment on and we were right. Do yourself a favor and give Garrett and Kellie a call!!

Exceptional Denver Wedding Photographer

Photography G is an incredible Denver Photographer. We have used them for several of our life events and each time is exceptional. We have used Photography G for Engagement, Wedding, Anniversary, Maternity and family photos. We will continue to use them as we grow our family have more celebrations or special moments to capture. Garrett and Kellie have become more than photographers, they are part of our family now. They work together as a very detailed team that makes taking photos seamless and fun, and that is how it should be!

Photography G is the best! Garrett Hacking and his associate Kellie did a wonderful job at our daughter's wedding. Their work is exceptional.
Since the wedding was at Red Rocks, we wanted to make sure that they captured the natural beauty of this place. We were not disappointed.
The venue was stunning and it showed in the photographs. It's amazing how Garrett and Kellie included so many unique moments. Our daughter and her husband felt so at ease throughout the day. Garrett consulted with them ahead of time and responded quickly when they had questions. He is truly an "award-winning" photographer and was wonderful to work with as well.

I highly recommend Photography G for wedding photography! We chose them over the many other wedding photographers out there since Garrett has a background getting amazing shots of musicians at concerts, and we really like his vibe and his attention to high-quality, timeless photography. We trusted that he would capture the emotion and essence of our wedding way without relying on editing tricks or asking us to take undue time out from our party to pose for photos.

Garrett and Kellie made the entire experience super easy. Modeling/posing for pictures doesn't come naturally to either me or my husband, but they coached us through some beautiful solo and couple shots before the wedding and made us feel very at ease (and beautiful!). They knew all sorts of trails and photogenic areas around Red Rocks that made for some truly amazing pics. Garrett and Kellie were very unobtrusive during the ceremony and reception, but we knew they were there capturing great shots. We didn't have to wait very long after the big day to get our photos back, and we were really blown away by the emotion they captured and how beautiful and timeless each photo was. Thank you, Garrett, Kellie, and Photography G team for your quality service and for capturing the sweetest essence of a huge and emotional day in our lives!

Garrett did an outstanding job photographing my proposal to my then girlfriend, now fiancé. I wanted to capture the event digitally so my fiancé and I would have photos to share and look back on. I remember calling Garrett and explaining to him at a high-level what I wanted to do and that it was going to take place at City Park in Denver. He strongly suggested that we meet in advance at the proposal location to plan out the surprise together. Garrett was very professional; he walked me through the best photography spots for the time of time of day to ensure lighting was perfect. We discussed different angles and Garrett provided plenty of coaching to ensure I would be standing in the right spot and that I had my girlfriend on the correct side of me. I wanted to minimize her suspicion as much as possible so Garrett came up with a great idea to involve his assistant and his dog to serve as ‘cover’. He acted as if he was taking photos of the two of them but all the while he was secretly photographing me walk my girlfriend through the park to the proposal spot we had picked out during our planning session.

After the proposal we rented paddle boats and Garrett took some more great photos of us out on the pond. Less than a week later Garrett had all of our photos ready and the came out spectacular! We were very pleased with how they turned out and we are excited for all of our future photography needs because we know that Garrett has us covered.

Working with Garrett was AWESOME! My fiance arranged for him to photograph our proposal. I was completely unaware of what was going on, but as we were walking around the pond at City Park and I saw a woman (Kellie) being photographed with her dog by a photographer with a legit camera - I thought it was cute, but also strange. My fiance led us over to the spot that him and Garrett had arranged and then proposed. Kellie was a decoy so that I didn't unravel the plan before the big moment, ha!!

We had a great time taking pictures all around City Park, including on the paddle boats. The photos are fantastic and we couldn't have been more pleased!

I cannot wait to line up Garrett for our wedding!

We initially met Garrett at a small tasting at Red Rocks, our wedding venue. We weren't sold on him immediately at the tasting, although his pictures were great. After shopping around, we thought we should at least meet Garrett to see if he could offer us exactly what we wanted. Also my husband really liked the leatherbound matted photo box that Garrett offers. Garrett showed us even more photos which were more our style (not too posed, more storytelling). We were sold. Some things we liked about Garrett over other wedding photography groups: he's very passionate about photography; he's responsive via email and phone; it's his own company; he does a lot of photography outside of weddings; he's very flexible but is punctual; his wedding photos did not have that Instagram-y blurry filtered look (just add your own later if you want!) and were beautiful on their own; his studio meeting was better than the others; and his dog Schultz is awesome! On the day of the wedding, Garrett and his assistant Kelly were extremely easy to work with. I'm not a planning personality type by any means but everything went A-okay! We chose to get the package with the box set and thumb drive... wow, everything looks great! The lighting, the moments he captured, just wow!

If you're looking for a photographer in the Denver area, you should definitely schedule a meeting with Garrett. Don't base your decision on a phone call or a tasting interaction. Just get straight to business, meet him at his studio, and look at his photos! He will have something you're looking for!!

As a wedding coordinator I have worked with many photographers and Garett has definitely stood out in my book! I originally met him at a tasting at Red Rocks. He was so nice and upbeat and I was hoping we would end up working together. A couple of mine hired him for their big day and I can’t say enough about his photos, they’re unbelievable! Half the time I didn’t even notice him (as it should be) but when the pictures came back he had captured everything! He recently welcomed me to come over to visit and see some of his work and again, I was mind blown. I walked by one specific picture and was taken back, I mentioned what an amazing shot it was and he said, “This is the shot when I realized this is what I should do for a living!” I would highly recommend Garett for any event, especially to capture what should be one of the best days of your lives!

Garrett will be our family photographer for all our life events. He feels like an extension of our family. It was easy to tell that he cares from the very beginning! As my husband and I were looking for a photographer, Garrett at Photography G was recommended to us by a friend. He seemed to be everything that we were looking for. We wanted someone who had good experience with weddings and had an uncanny ability to capture the captive moments. Garrett was a fly on the wall. Very unobtrusive and not a "strike-a-pose" photographer. He captured our day exactly the way we wanted with his camera. Garrett exceeded our expectations. Not even a step down the isle was slowed due to him being in the way. His ideas for group shots along with individual shots turned into amazing works of art. He along with his assistant worked well with the large group of people in both of our families and did not just concentrate on the wedding party. We are elated to have had the pleasure of not only getting to know him through the planning process and execution of our wedding, but also pleased to call him a friend and will call on him in the future for any photography needs, regardless of competition's price. When I first walked into Photography G’s office and saw all the wonderful photographs I knew that he was the photographer that I wanted. He spent about an hour with us explaining the different light techniques that he would use, including short site lighting, and what we would expect the day of the wedding, and this was before we hired him. We knew that if he was going to take that much time beforehand that he would make sure our wedding day was a priority.

Because our wedding time was later in the day we knew that we wouldn’t have time for the first glance going down the aisle but we wanted that moment to be special. Garrett choreographed my fiancé to be waiting just perfectly around the corner, and he took the perfect photo of my fiancé looking up at me for the first time in my wedding dress. And not only did he make that moment special he made sure to have that same moment with my dad and mom. These are the moments that I will remember for the rest of my life and Garrett captured them amazing!

And the best part was he gave us not just a wedding photo album but a beautiful black box that contained each of our photos on felt weave paper, this enabled me to hang my photos up around my house so that everyone is able to see that day, seven months later.

I was so impressed by Garrett’s talent on the first day, on my wedding day, and the photos that came later, I can’t wait to have him photograph us on our first year anniversary. Thank you Garrett!

Garrett Hacking was recommended to my fiancé and I by our wedding venue. My fiancé had a little more experience with how to choose photographers but I just wanted to find someone that had the same expectation and knew what they were doing, because I didn’t. I've had the pleasure of getting to know Garrett outside the photography world and hands down, he's a wonderful individual to know and work with, personally and professionally! We had a destination wedding and a separate reception a couple weeks later. Garrett photographed our local wedding reception and he was able to accomplish in a short timeframe what would normally happen over the course of an entire day. I wish we had more time to get more photos with him! We had a garden reception and Garrett did a great job of capturing so much of the natural beauty of the surroundings and finding great spots for our posed shots. The quality of Garrett's work really speaks for itself and any bride would be lucky to have photos from Garrett!

Stop your search right now and hire Garrett Hacking as your wedding photographer. I knew from the first moments I saw Gary's work that he would be the one capturing my most treasured memories on my wedding day. And this was before I even got engaged! I met Gary in maybe 2000 or 2001, at least ten years before I became engaged in 2011. He showed me some of his photography (he does not only weddings, but corporate work, portraits, and even pets, among other specialties), and my decision was made. In fact, I wasn't even living in Colorado anymore when one day, in 2006, I remember telling him, "Gary, when I get married, no matter where it is or if I have to fly you there, I want you to photograph my wedding." And sure enough, the day finally came in 2012 and there was Gary, ready to capture the moments!

He was so professional and most of all, calm. Both he and his assistant Carolyn kept the day flowing perfectly, from the Getting Ready routine to our First Look moments to the pre-wedding photos on the beach. We then moved over to the wedding venue, taking more pictures before the ceremony, then during, and of course at the reception. But my very favorite photos came later in the afternoon. We planned a special sunset shoot, wherein my husband and I snuck away from the party for some spectacular sunset shots on the docks at the marina behind my venue. These photos are magnificent beyond words. If you want to see them, I am glad to show samples, although Gary may have them on his website.

I should also mention that Photography G was astoundingly affordable. It was less costly to pay for Gary's professional fees PLUS transportation and hotel and rental car, than it would have been to hire one of the shyster photographers in New Jersey who all wanted $7,000 or more. And Gary worked from 10am through 6:30pm! (Yes, I paid a bit extra for the overtime, as anyone should.)

My fiance lived in Colorado for a while and when we decided to get married she told me she knew the photographer she wanted to hire. But we live in New Jersey and there are lots of good photographers near by. As usual, I'm very glad I took her advice to hire Garrett for the most important vendor of the day. We could not have been happier with the way Garrett and his assistant worked with us that day. They were there early to put our minds at ease, they gave guidance as to what to expect and how much time it would take, and they were unobtrusive. Most of all, the pictures were fantastic.
I would gladly recommend Garrett to anyone seeking a true professional who will get those shots you will treasure forever.

Garrett was the perfect photographer for our wedding day! He was an absolute pleasure to work with both before, during, and after the wedding and he truly did an amazing job! He was so easy to talk with to plan the shots we needed, help us select which package to use, and plan the timeline of the day which definitely eased a lot of pre-wedding stress. During the wedding itself, Garrett put both of us at ease and let us just be ourselves while he took photos. I have been to several weddings since my own, and I have noticed that the hallmark of a true photographer is someone who doesn't try to create a moment, but simple captures the moment naturally. Garrett did an awesome job. I really don't like to be photographed but understood the importance of having great wedding pictures. Garrett was patient with me and helped me stick to the photo list we agreed upon even when I didn't feel like taking any more. My husband and I have been working with Garrett at Photography G for 7.5 years. We first met Garrett at a bridal show at our wedding venue, Lionscrest Manor. He and my husband share a love of music and hit it off immediately. On the day of our wedding, we could not have asked for a better photography team! Unfortunately the weather wasn't ideal, however, we were still able to get many outdoor shots that turned out better than I could have imagined. Garrett was creative in making the best of the situation to make sure we still had beautiful memories of that day.

We've always had such great compliments on our wedding photos, and when we decided to expand our family 5 years later we called Photography G to see if they would take maternity photos for us. We were extremely excited that Photography G would not only take the photos but also put together a package to capture that special time in our lives. The maternity photos were absolutely fantastic, and when our son was born Garrett was extremely flexible in photographing newborn, 6 month, and 1 year photo sessions. He was sympathetic to our baby's needs and didn't rush us through the shoots ensuring we were able to get great photos.

We now have a "Photography G" wall in our home showcasing all of the photos. We even recently had a 2 year old session and struggled to decide which photos we wanted to purchase because so many of them turned out great (which was surprising given the attitude of a 2 year old!) My husband, Brian and I just celebrated our fifth wedding anniversary this week. As we do every year, we snuggled up on the sofa and flipped through our wedding album, reminiscing about our special day. Garrett Hacking captured every moment of our wedding and reception that we had hoped for, and then some. He surprised us by photographing intimate moments when we didn't even know he was around. We loved the candid shots of our friends and family laughing and hugging. We couldn't believe how well he preserved our big day. So many people have told me when looking through our photographs, that they felt like they were actually there. They are that good! Five years later, we are still so grateful to G. for his incredible work. It is timeless. It is artistic. It is the most precious momento.

I have stayed in touch with Garrett over the years, even though we moved about 1200 miles away. When we get back to Denver for a visit, we will certainly be seeing him for photos of us with the addition of our baby boy, Sam. We look forward to that day. Garrett is such a wonderful person. It is obvious that he is a truly gifted photographer, but he is also a great person with a dear heart. Brian and I loved his company at the wedding, and even our family and friends told us how much they enjoyed him. He is just a very special person, and we are very blessed to have met him.

Garrett was everything we could have hoped for in a wedding photographer and so much more. Our big day was crazy like only a wedding day could be, but the moments that Garrett so masterfully captured are absolutely stunning! We truly had an artist capturing our special day and it is clearly evident in the photos. During our honeymoon, we kept saying it felt like a dream and it wasn’t until we got home and saw Garrett’s beautiful pictures that it finally became a reality for us.

We couldn’t be more pleased with the end result. Garrett has this calm demeanor that made having hundreds of pictures taken of my bride and I so much easier. And that made all the difference in the world. He was there happy and content at every interaction. And he patiently wrangling our family and friends together for pictures, which is no easy task. He knows how to work a camera and a crowd. He really knows how to make everyone feel at ease and comfortable, even young kids. My nieces loved Garrett. The photos he takes are just breathtaking! Just breathtaking! We are so please we decided on Garrett and now we feel fortunate to have such amazing pictures to cherish our big day for the rest of our lives. He is, hands down, the best!

We were so lucky to find Garrett. He is an amazing photographer- in ways that my un-artistic mind probably can’t even begin to understand. He took the most beautiful pictures of our big day. There is not a single shot I wish we had that he didn’t get- perfectly. And yet I barely ever saw him the whole night. It’s stunning really. I had some misgivings about our wedding day (nothing to do with Garrett), but as I was looking through the pictures for the first time, it was like all of that washed away. Garrett showed me all the sweet, beautiful moments of our wedding that I had forgotten or not been around to see. He captured everything; all the emotion, all the fun, and all the spirit. It made me realize just how special our wedding really was. There is no greater gift than that, I assure you.

If his amazing pictures aren’t enough, Garrett is the kind of person you want nearby on your wedding day. I think my favorite thing about having Garrett as our photographer, besides the unbelievable photos, is how grateful I was to have him around. He has such a calm, go-with-the-flow energy; sometimes just looking at him behind the camera would help me remember to breath and relax. He made the atmosphere laid-back and everything felt smooth and simple; yet another amazing gift on a crazy wedding day. We are very grateful for Garrett and feel very lucky to have found him.

Garrett was our wedding photographer in September 2010, and my wife and I are thankful every day that Garrett and Photography G were part of our special day. We have since been to several other weddings, and it was from those experiences that we realized how fortunate we were to have Garrett as our photographer.

I truly believe Garrett’s greatest strength is capturing authentic and natural moments. He avoids those canned and cheesy shots that so many other photographers love to focus on, and instead focuses on taking quality photographs that will stand the test of time. I jokingly call Garrett a photography “ninja” because he works behind the scenes, never gets in anyone’s way, yet still manages to capture so many amazing moments.

Garrett and his crew know what they’re doing from the very start, and will not waste your time or the time of your guests. Garrett is not a photographer who merely dabbles in photography; his passion for photography is beautifully expressed through the quality of his work.

Selecting a wedding photographer should not be taken lightly, and you need peace of mind that your photographer will produce quality photos that you will be truly happy with. Garrett was the first person my fiancé and I booked for the wedding. Having a background in photography, finding the right photographer was a top priority for me, and I knew that Garrett was the right fit. He is a talented photographer, confident and generally great to be around - what more can you ask for in a wedding photographer?! Having him on board, we were assured to have awesome pictures from our big day.

As everyone one tells you, your wedding day goes by in a flash. Realistically, the bride and groom get very little time together, aside from the ceremony. The only intimate moments we were able to share with each other were after the ceremony during our photo shoot with Garrett. Not only are my husband and I grateful that were able to have the time together, but we will always look back at those pictures with fond memories. After the ceremony, we literally ran off into the woods for the shoot, and we spent most of it laughing, smiling, and just being with each other – as husband and wife. It was extremely easy and comfortable to spend that time with Garrett.

Looking back at our wedding album, we have some amazing photos from the day. He was there from the beginning of the day capturing quiet and precious moments of preparation. At the event, we scarcely noticed as he collected angles we never saw. He captured our arrivals, ceremony, friends… well, all the things you think of and all the other things a professional thinks of for you. As we look at our albums today, we are grateful for his graceful presence and fly-on-the-wall blending in. Garrett always thinks ahead while clearly reflecting on a decade of experience. Garrett’s talents are now our keepsakes. We’re glad we booked him first.

After looking at Garrett's work, we were hooked! His pictures are real, beautiful, and natural. On the day of, he captured so many sweet little moments and memories of us and our families! Many of the photos he took we didn't even know he was there, which made those moments so much more special.
His whole day was scheduled just for us. He made sure to let us know that he was flexible-which he was! Our wedding day was rainy one moment and sunny the next, indoor and outdoors, and he managed to capture it all! It was wonderful. Beautiful ceremony pictures, celebrating guests, loving family, and cute little flowergirls dancing the night away! We've been having so much fun going through all of our pictures. The day went by so fast. It's wonderful to know that we chose the right photographer to capture those memories forever.

My daughter and I tromped through 3 big bridal fairs before we met Garrett. All the photographers and their display books just started to blur together....and then we met Garrett. There is just something about him---when you meet him, you....just....know...... He is not aggressive, he takes more of the old-fashioned, emotional pics that you cherish forever, he was never underfoot, he was not pushy or impatient when everybody else was displaying 'disorganized pressure' trying to get ready in the bridal suite, he was organized, he found out what we wanted ahead of time and delivered, he's on time and appeared to be relaxed because he likes what he does for a living but was very professional. We didn't even know where he was half of the time but he somehow managed to give us over 700 photos. The wedding book he made for my daughter and her husband is beautiful. He only books one event a day, so he is all yours and is willing to stay later. His turn around time is excellent and he kept his word----the proofs were ready when he said they would be. I am so glad my daughter stopped at his booth. This may sound silly, but: You.......Just.......Know.

Life time of memories

My daughter was married July 4, 2021, and Garrett and Kelly were our photographers. The photos were exquisite. They took 100s of shots. The Bridal portraits were stunning and taken in a mountain park where we walked from setting to setting for beautiful scenic photos with the bride. Garrett loves to try fun, exciting photos that capture the bride's personality among beautiful scenery.
I loved the way the photos were categorized on the website. The reception photos were so fun! I can look back at them and relive the whole experience. It was a blast and Garrett captured it, as well as the solemn moments that he captured in the ceremony. If you want a life long of memorable moments captured on film for you or your daughter's wedding have Photography G take the wedding photos!

This is a review for Garret Hacking, owner and photographer of Photography G. We had the distinct pleasure of working with him during many phases of our wedding. This includes the initial meet to discuss our needs and ideas, the wedding itself, and ultimately the selection and delivery of our photos. He was very accommodating to all of our requests and was easy to work with. Garrett even invited us to a gallery style event showcasing his work. We attended and were impressed by all of his work; not just his wedding shots.
His work at our wedding was superb. He always seemed to find the right angle for a shot and really came up with creative ideas for the bride and groom pictures. Having seen some of the other photographer’s wedding photos on the Arrowhead website, we believe that he had a new and unique perspective and felt our pictures were truly distinct. He has a talent for catching that impromptu moment and eternalizing them on film without the subjects realizing they are being photographed. He made us feel comfortable, natural, and we had so much fun in the process. Many of our guest commented on how professional he was and our families were pleased with how seamless the picture order and delivery process was.
He developed a great relationship with us through this process and went on to photograph two other of our family’s weddings. All were very different in various settings and he captured everything beautifully. We have continued to stay in touch and look forward to using him for future needs as our “family” photographer.
