Jenny was amazing to work with in advance and ahead of our wedding day. We and the bridal party party loved working with her! And her teaser photos have been amazing so far! She was also very flexible in going offsite for a few minutes after our ceremony.
Our wedding took place in Sonoma last May, and Jenny traveled down to shoot our rehearsal dinner and the big day. She may have been the best choice we made in the entire process. Jenny put everyone at ease, and she is so vibrant and fun that she even elevated the party. Her pictures are just incredible - when I look through our photos it brings me right back to that wonderful day. If you are lucky enough to hire Jenny you should start buying frames in bulk now, because you will love every picture she takes.
Oh the REGRET I have in not knowing Jenny earlier! She embodies everything I would've wanted for my own wedding a few years ago---her photography style, funky fresh personality, being swift as a rabbit in communication, and overall, a darn good vendor and pal to know for the rest of your life. I'm a wedding coordinator and how blessed I was to get paired up with Jenny for a San Francisco wedding. From a vendor's perspective, Jenny was awesome to partner with and hustled like a boss to capture the most unique shots I've ever seen. Her teasers left me breathless. Don't bother looking anywhere else. If you want your event photos to just be REAL with no fluff and showcase the happiness of that very moment-- no "ands, ifs, buts" about it, Jenny is the best camera chica to hire and truly is the bomb!!(drop the mic)
I was a bridesmaid for a wedding that Jenny shot in 2011and when I got engaged, I knew that I wanted her as my photographer for my own wedding in LA.
Jenny is amazing to work with. She is professional, responsive, and accommodating (especially when it came to our many Asian extended family shot). On the day of the wedding, she took charge and everywhere we looked we saw Jenny shooting photos. Many of our family and friends came up to us and told us how great she was. She is great at capturing those truly memorable candid moments that make a wedding so special.
Our teasers were stunning and we cannot wait to see the rest of our photos!
Thank you Jenny!!
I'm not sure why you would hire another photographer. She's smart, organized, professional, fun, and very talented. Our photos are so beautiful and she captured everything about our wedding that we hoped for. She's very energetic and stealthy as she moves around the venue, snapping photos.
Jenny is such an energetic & acrobatic force of nature that is hard to put how awesome she is into words!
First, she is a consummate professional. From initial consultation to the wedding day, Jenny is the epitome of an organized business woman who remains calm (even FUN) under pressure. Prior to the wedding, she offers invaluable and practical advice, and responds quickly to emails with questions.
Jenny has wedding photography down to a science. Whether it’s getting an impossible giggle out of stiff Uncle Bob, shooting your bridal party through her legs while she is sliding into a split, or making up time when the couple is falling behind schedule, Jenny truly can handle (and make the most of) anything that comes her way.
Why I loved working with Jenny:
1.She’s so cool. One of those people who makes you feel like you’ve known her forever within minutes of meeting her.
2.She knows how to make people feel comfortable in front of the camera, focusing on candid shots and natural interactions.
3.She scouts your ceremony & reception locations before the wedding so she can find awesome settings for your photos.
4.She is a photo ninja – showing up just as that special moment is about to naturally unfold, and getting down on the dance floor with the craziest crowd to make sure all angles of the party are covered. (I think at one point she was lying on her back on the dance floor & we were all crowded over her smiling into her lens!)
5.She has a mean high kick.
I sound like I am girl crushing, and maybe I am, but literally all of my friends and family were raving about Jenny after the wedding. She was our photographer and the life of the party at the same time. Where does she get the energy?!
We hired Jenny for our NYC wedding and it one of the BEST decisions we made. She traveled from Seattle and her rates (including travel) were comparable to all the local NY photogs we spoke with. Call Jenny, trust me, you'll be hooked!
Jenny and Rosie photographed our wedding last month and did an amazing job. All of my friends loved them. They got into the mix without getting in your face, danced, laughed, and felt like actual guests at our party, rather than "on the job". That said, Jenny runs an extremely professional business. Is always on time, prepared to work, and always willing to meet your needs. Her photo journalistic style captures moments rather than poses and personalities rather than people. We got a sneak peak at some photos just a week after our wedding and can't wait to get the rest. Would HIGHLY recommend her!
Jenny is the best! She knocked our June 14th wedding out of the park!
Jenny was professional yet approachable from day 1, and made it a point to get to know us as a couple in our meetings leading up to the big day. She even snooped around our neighborhood to scout out photo ops. She served up none BS and was completely transparent and willing to work with our budget and schedule as they evolved over the final months.
Day of, she was on site early and ready to roll. In my experience attending weddings, a detail that has always driven me nuts is the "inconspicuous" photog duo decked out in head to toe Goodwill hues of washed out black getting in everyone's way and standing out like displaced puppeteers. Jenny flew efficiently solo and actually blended in with our guests. She worked the room like an old friend and did her casual wedding magic, making the camera part of the day rather than some foreign, imposing prop sneaking up on people. I'm pretty sure the only part of the event where her role as a paid vendor became obvious to our guests was during the formal wedding party/ family photo shoot. Otherwise, she was at one with the party.
The highlight of our experience was hands down Jenny's excitement about our location. Our venue was ~6 blocks up the street from our apartment, and she jumped on that opportunity. We were able to hop back to our home for our "couple's only" formal photo time slot, and do some shots inside and out, around the block and up the street. It was more US than anything we could have come up with on our own.
Jenny was the sh*t. She was great with kids. She was great with drunk adults. We've never had a reason to work with a photographer before, but now we can't help but talk about how fun and beautiful our family photos by Jenny will be in the years to come.
Jenny photographed our wedding reception on Orcas Island last summer, and she was a total joy to work with on the day. She puts everyone at ease so naturally with her expert, lighthearted approach. Even my mom, who gets self-conscious and normally hates having her picture taken, felt confident and looked beautiful during the family pictures. That said, Jenny is just as good at disappearing into the background to get awesome candid shots as she is at making people laugh, and our favorite pictures were the really candid moments of our friends & family that evening.
It's just been eight months since the island wedding, but today looking back at our photos made me realize how much has already changed since then. Friends moved, new babies arrived, jobs changed, etc., and already we're in a very different era personally. I honestly got a little teary this afternoon thinking about how lucky we are to have such beautiful pictures of all our friends and family together during one of our happiest times.
Thank you Jenny, we will always love our pictures!
Jenny and her husband were awesome. The photos were great, but that is the minimum. The day of photos were something that I was not as excited for as my wife, but in retrospect, it was the best part of our wedding day, having that time to ourselves carved out from the onslaught of friends and family that followed. Jenny kept us relaxed, and her and her husband were an integral part of the wedding. We had plenty of guests tell us later how much fun they had with them. The pictures reflect that.
Jenny is truly a rock star. She went above and beyond in her coverage of our wedding day - coming earlier than I expected to the girls' prep room and staying all the way until the end of the reception to get some amazing night shots as the groom and I left. Jenny is fun, hardworking and extremely talented. She even went the extra mile to have some photos ready at breakfast the next morning for guests to see before they headed out. As we are looking at the photos now they are an amazing mix of memories and art - exactly what I'd dreamed of for my wedding day.
Jenny did our engagement photos, and we couldn't be more pleased. I am usually very stiff and uncomfortable whenever a camera is around, but she managed to make my fiance and I feel completely at ease and connected to each other during our session. She was game to try some of our weirder ideas and just made the whole thing fun. We (and our families) love the photos! In addition to being a great photographer, she is also a real professional -- she was prompt and clear in her communication, easy-going but efficient during the session, and she even got us our images early. We highly recommend Jenny!
Jenny was amazing. We loved her from the start. Jenny was extremely helpful in helping us create a timeline for the wedding day. On the day-of, she was comfortable and easy-going in a way that was very helpful given how nervous and high-energy we were. She was great at making everyone very comfortable for the portraits. And Jenny worked it on the dance floor -- she would actually jump into groups to dance and then shoot, which made people keep dancing rather than get nervous and withdraw (as they might if they just noticed her shooting). Within our budget, her services were one of our biggest expenses, but she was worth every penny. I'll update with more info once we get our photos, but I'm sure I'll be just as effusive. (She shot a friend's wedding, and the photos were gorgeous.)
Jenny was our favorite wedding vendor. She photographed us for our engagement session and we were totally blown away with her creative photographs, great personality and most importantly, she made us comfortable with having cameras around. (no cheesy poses, just a photojournalistic approach that captured our personalities) She and her partner documented our wedding day, from getting ready, to the late night snack at the end of the day. The photo booth they set up after dinner was a big hit with all of the guests. These photos were up on the website just a few days after the wedding. The rest of the photos will come in a few weeks. I know they're going to be fabulous...can't wait!
