I found Brea through a friend, as she did an amazing job with their wedding photos. Working with Brea was incredibly easy. She was flexible with setting up phone & video calls to talk about our visions. On our wedding day, she kept the day moving along, was a friend to my husband and I, and most importantly took beautiful photos of our day without us even realizing she had a camera on her. We love how our photos show the candid and real moments of our wedding day, which is exactly what we wanted.
Brea had a sneak peak for us just a few hours after the wedding was over, and blog full of photos within a week of our wedding. Our full gallery and photo book were finished within 3 weeks of our wedding. The results are spectactular.
Brea is kind, creative, skilled, and incredibly caring about the couples she works with. We are immensely glad we chose her to work with and will recommend her to anyone who needs a photographer. -

Working with Brea and her team (Jim and Joanne) for our engagement and wedding photos was such an amazing experience. From the start, Brea was incredibly easy to work with—super flexible, responsive, and genuinely invested in getting to know us better. In the initial meeting with her, she was very clear about her pricing and process, leading to no surprises when it came to budgeting and planning. For our engagement photos, she even worked with my then fiancée and a close friend to plan a surprise Ghostbusters themed moment during our engagement shoot, which was both hilarious and indicative of our relationship. The photos captured our personalities perfectly while still feeling romantic and meaningful.
Brea is also just insanely talented. She handled everything from soft outdoor light to tricky indoor lighting (including the Maryland Center for History & Culture, where we got married) with total confidence. Her photos strike that perfect balance between classic portraits and candid, in the moment shots. She somehow caught every little detail, including decor, glances, quiet emotions, and then delivered beautifully edited images that we’ll treasure forever.
On top of all that, Brea was such a calming presence on our wedding day. She made us feel comfortable right away, which really shows in the photos. She was professional through and through—on time, dressed perfectly for the day, and great at keeping things moving without ever feeling stressed. Knowing she had everything under control let us actually relax and enjoy our wedding, confident that all the important moments were being captured by someone who truly cared.
I want to give a special thanks to her second photographer, Jim, who teamed up with my Best Men and me the morning before the wedding. He captured many candid moments that truly highlighted our joy during a part of the day I personally thought would be one of the more uneventful (eating lunch and casually hanging out before the wedding). Jim is also an exceptional photographer, leaving us with a beautiful collection of memories from my own part of the day.
After both sessions, Brea was quick to provide a small collection of our photos only days later, before providing us with the full collection of photographs within two weeks of the engagement shoot and the wedding day. We made many strong decisions for our big day, and hiring Photography by Brea was definitely one of our best. -

Brea was everything we could have asked for, and more! From the engagement photos through the wedding day, Brea made us feel comfortable and made us look SO good! Amazing wedding photos were one of the things we cared about most, and the results were absolutely magical. And on top of all that, she photographed us SKIING DOWN THE MOUNTAIN IN OUR WEDDING OUTFITS, while she snowboarded! What else can you say to that? 1000/10, hire her. -

Brea is not only an incredible photographer, but an incredible person to have on the most hectic day of your life. Her work is dynamic, innovative, and soulful, she managed to capture all the little, special moments of the day and make 1000 others happen. During our engagement shoot, she made us feel so comfortable. We had no doubt that she would kill it at our wedding, but honestly didn't realize how reliable and fantastic she would be on the big day. I (the bride) turned to her so many times throughout our wedding, panicked about our packed timeline, and she would calmly reassure me we had plenty of time to capture everything. She captured everything. We can not recommend her enough, especially if you're getting married at the Belvedere!!! We love Brea and her amazing team!! -

Brea was amazing!
Brea was amazing to work with from beginning to end - she is incredibly responsive and was so easy to work with to schedule our engagement shoot and our entire wedding day! She went ABOVE and BEYOND to ensure there were no hiccups the morning of our wedding with the Baltimore Marathon scheduled for the same day and sent us sneak photos of our wedding literally the night of - and they were gorgeous (as were all of the photos)! She was very knowledgeable of our venue (the Baltimore Museum of Industry) and the area around our hotel (Canopy by Hilton) for our first look. Brea also provided a photobooth for the wedding and they turned out great, we loved the prints day of plus being able to print full size copies of each photobooth picture to share with our guests after the wedding! My husband and I cannot recommend Brea enough!! -

Would it be silly to say we want to throw another party just so Brea can be our photographer again?? She was AMAZING and we feel so lucky to have found her through a bit of chance. By the end of our event, we felt we had spent time with an old friend, not a new photographer.
As soon as we met Brea, we knew she was the photographer for us. She was curious and asked all the right questions, she got to know us, she was clear about her process and artistic style, and she gave us various options to ensure her services met our needs. During the planning process, she was great at communicating - making sure she understood our event plan so she and her 2nd photographer could be in all the right places, while also offering kind suggestions to our plan which we gladly incorporated! We particularly appreciated the pre-event form she sent so we could document which moments and people were most important to us, and which family members to keep an eye on :-)
On the day of our event, she and her second photographer were "everywhere", but never intrusive - capturing authentic moments without any forced posing. Brea also brought an assistant to help with lighting and equipment, which made every moment run smoothly. Her experience as a photographer was apparent as she confidently adjusted through various shooting environments - candid getting ready photos, dynamic movement during an Indian baraat ceremony, an outdoor ceremony and family portraits, an indoor cocktail hour and reception, and romantic night shots in the rain.
But nothing prepared us for the moment when we saw the first photos from our event - a truly WOW moment. The photos were absolutely stunning, and we couldn't wait to see more. Brea shot one of our couples photos in the rain, on a pier, with Baltimore's iconic Domino Sugars sign in the background - it could be the cover of a magazine.
Brea was great with turnaround time - sending us a few amazing photos the same night as our event so we could share with our guests, posting a blog with highlight photos a few days after the event, and turning around the full set while we were still in our post-event glow. We have received so many compliments from our guests about our photos - not just on how the photos captured us, but how well the photos captured them. We were so happy and will treasure our photos in our family forever.

Brea was one of the BEST choices we made for our big day. From the moment we reached out for services her energy was so lovely and truly made us feel comfortable and the experience special. She is a great communicator and very timely in responding and getting edited photos back to us (we literally had a few photos ready the next day). We booked her for both our engagement photos and wedding services and we LOVE the photos. She really captured us, the moments, and how the day felt. I know we will be able to look back at the photos and remember the day because of how good her and her husband Jim were at getting the good, special (and crazy) moments. The groomsmen also had a great time the morning of with Jim and the photos really show it. I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend Brea for wedding photography (any moment really). When our friends and family saw the photos they were blown away with her work. We will most certainly be using her for our photography in the future!! -

Brea is such a wonderful human and photographer. Right away, during our initial engagement shoot, we felt comfortable and confident in her approach. She has an unparalleled knack for capturing authentic moments that convey the love between a couple. She was always super communicative and professional and provided an amazingly quick turnaround time for photos. On the wedding day itself, she was organized and efficient, able to cover all of the shots we wanted without taking us away from the action. Brea was at the top of our photography list for her ability to capture vivid colors and meaningful moments -- all things we knew would be important to us in our Indian fusion wedding! But beyond taking great photos, Brea also brings amazing energy, has a great team of people, and is extremely on her game even in more chaotic moments (while we did try to create a detailed schedule, we knew we'd need vendors able to adapt on-the-fly between a baraat, an involved Hindu ceremony, and family photo lineups).
On our wedding day, spending time with Brea and her team was so effortless. When we were in the zone during our ceremony or during dancing, we didn't even notice the photography happening and could be completely focused on each other. Then, when we took our couple's portraits, it was one of the most relaxing and fun parts of the day and we attribute a lot of that to picking the right photographer! Neither of us really know how to hit a pose but Brea is great at keeping it chill and walking you through some easy positionings while also catching candid moments.
Brea is extremely professional and responsive, developing the perfect photo plan for a (long) day with a lot of moving parts. When we got our photos back, we were obsessed with them. They're colorful, beautiful, and they capture moments we didn't even think our photographers noticed during the day -- plus funny and sweet moments from our family and friends that we ourselves couldn't have experienced. Candid, journalistic photography was absolutely the right choice for our wedding and Brea's work is creative and stunning. It feels like we're reliving the day every time we look through them.
Also her photo booth is really fun! Highly recommend that too if you're on the fence, our families loved it and we have a lot of group photos and personality pics from it we wouldn't have gotten otherwise.

The best photographer around!
We loved Brea’s photos for their vitality and energy! We wanted nontraditional photos for our engagement session and she was so enthusiastic from the first conversation. She made us look like the cover of a fashion magazine even though we were upside down.
At the wedding, her photos were equally amazing, really capturing the joyous energy of the night. During the portrait sessions, she made sure to get formal photos for our parents as well as silly portraits for us. We felt so secure in her hands and our friends and family can’t stop raving over how good the photos are!
She arrived on time for each booking and was easy to communicate with. We had a sneak peek of photos before we’d even gone to bed after the wedding and all of the photos just 2 weeks later.
We cannot recommend Brea enough!

Brea was incredible from our first meeting with her until our last after the wedding. She is incredibly responsive and receptive to our questions/concerns/ideas. It was great getting to know her while she took beautiful pictures of us during our engagement shoot.
The day of the wedding she did incredible work taking stunning pictures that my husband and I will cherish for the rest of our lives.
She also has a photo booth which was great for capturing additional memories with our friends and family.
The photo albums we purchased as part of our package were such an easy process. Brea helped us every step of the way to create a keepsake for ourselves and our parents that is simply incredible.

Brea is one in a million! Spend five minutes on her website and you will see how incredibly talented she is. Truly we cannot recommend her enough. She makes moments, emotions, colors, gorgeous backdrops, and personality all come to life in the most meaningful and special way - and in a way that felt very "us". We were looking for a photographer who could get the light right for two different skin tones at multiple times of day. Brea excels in managing exposure, shadows, lighting, and weather...not to mention she has really cool gear that makes amazing night photos! Beyond the wonderful engagement and wedding photos she captured, Brea is easy-going, and really fun to work with. We had never done a photoshoot before and she made us feel so comfortable and supported. Brea and her team are absolute magic!!! They were so easy to work with and made our wedding day run so smoothly. We picked our wedding date based on Brea's availability- that's how badly we wanted her to capture our day on 9/7/24 at the BMI! Follow her on insta @photographybybrea and you will see what we mean! From the start, Brea made us feel super comfortable at our initial interview and engagement shoot. She made it clear that her number one goal is to capture the feeling and emotion of the day in the couple and our guests. She is an expert at lighting to create bright , vibrant shots that told the story of our day. Jim was our second shooter for our wedding and the two of them work so well together, spoke so kindly to each other and made our day smooth and stress free! They were both so flexible- the bridal party got ready at the Waterfront Marriott and the groomsmen at our house, then we all met up at the water taxi and the pics along the way are so fun! We are also SO GLAD we added on the photo both package last minute! Totally worth it, our guests had so much fun and we loved looking at all the pics in an album Brea shared with us! Plus Brea's mom, Joanne, runs the photobooth and is the sweetest person ever! Not only is Brea the best photographer in the world, but she is now our friend- from bustling my dress to sharing pics of our baby kitties- She was a joy to hangout with for our entire wedding day! We love Brea!
Brea was the wedding photographer of our dreams! Not only is her work STUNNING, but she is also extremely responsive and a great human being.
We lived out of state and Brea was extremely flexible in helping us schedule our engagement photos for when we were in town, and helped provide a lot of guidance when we couldn’t choose the best spot for us!
On wedding day, Brea, her partner Jim, and her assistant Courtney were there from start to finish, were genuinely fun to be around, and captured so many memories. My husband and I kept remaking on how the team was able to seemingly be capturing photos in 4 spots at once, yet you hardly noticed them there. On the wedding night, Brea's car got a flat tire on the way home from our reception, and yet she was still texting us sneak peaks of the photos at 11pm WHILE sitting on the side of the road waiting for a towtruck, after an 11 hour work day. Talk about treating your clients like family. Moreover, we've received numerous compliments and inquiries as to who our wedding photographer was -- probably a dozen people said they "had never seen anything like this" when looking at the level of detail and beauty of our wedding gallery. With Brea, it was a labor of love from start to finish. Working with her felt like talking to an old friend, not a wedding vendor.
We are in love with our wedding photos. They captured our special day so beautifully and authentically, and would highly recommend Brea to photograph any special occasion in your life! -

Where do I even begin? Brea is PHENOMENAL! Not only does she create beautiful photos but she also will double as your day or coordinator 😉 (jk) but not really. Brea was so great at keeping everyone on track and adhering to the timeline. She even helped me create my wedding timeline because she has done weddings time and time again! It was such a relief when Brea showed up the day of my wedding because I did not have to tell her what I wanted/ needed she just jumped right in and began to capture photos I didn’t even think about! She is such a fun person to hang out with and a great addition to our wedding. Brea and I have also bonded over the years leading up to the big day because we both have Grey kitties and share photos to one another. Truly Amazing
When I got engaged Brea was my first call! She shot my sisters wedding a few years back and I knew when my day came she was my photographer. She is absolutely amazing. And I truly mean AMAZING! My one daughter was unable to attend due to being in the hospital but through facetime and Brea it felt like my daughter was with me every step of the way. She incorporated her in the getting ready, the ceremony, and the reception. That meant more to me then she will ever know. Those little touches Brea will do for you to make your day even more special. Working with her was so effortless and she truly captures every detail.
I will be the first to say I am not the most photogenetic person but with Brea she made me feel so comfortable. We just got our pictures back and I am in love with them all!.

Brea was the first vendor that we booked, and I am so glad that we went with her. We truly can't say enough positive things about Brea and her entire team. Not only did the photographs came out better than we could have imagined, but she was amazing to work with. Brea takes gorgeous portraits/traditional shots and incredible candids, but will also embrace your quirky/strange ideas and make them better than you could have imagined.
You can show up awkward/never having taken professional photographs as a couple, and Brea will guide you with tips without it ever feeling too much. Her eye for color and composition also meant that even our more difficult requests turned out incredible. -

We chose Brea as our wedding photographer because of her outstanding portfolio and the way that we saw she could beautifully capture both candid and posed moments. We knew that we wanted our wedding to feel like a wedding, not a photoshoot, and Brea was the perfect fit for what we were looking for. She did not disappoint! Brea is exceptionally easy to work with, highly communicative, and extremely talented. She has such a keen eye for composition and fun moments, and we have so many wonderful photos to look back on for years to come. I would 100% recommend Brea to anyone planning their wedding - and, I would definitely recommend adding on the photobooth! Our guests loved it and it's so fun to have those extra pictures of all our guests. -

An artist's dream photographer
Brea was the first vendor we selected when we started to plan our wedding two years ago. We loved the artistic and creative feel of her photography. From capturing candids to vibrant color schemes, she didn't shy away from creative approaches to her craft. And we knew from the moment we finished our engagement photo shoot that we were in for a treat once our big day arrived. Her professionalism and enthusiasm for her work was evident throughout the process and I'd like to think we gained a new friend along the way. She was good working with babies/children as well as pets (we threw a lot at her!) and despite a rainy wedding day and some construction on the National Mall, she managed to pull off amazing shots. We could not be more pleased with our experience and her team of professionals. Hands down worth the investment and we LOVE our photos. -

We wouldn't trust anyone else with our wedding day!
Our journey with Brea started with our engagement. My fiance knew that I wanted photos of the engagement, so he set out on a mission to find a photographer. Brea came highly recommended from a friend, and my now husband loved Brea's ability to photograph anywhere and anyone. She was an easy choice.
After seeing our engagement photos, I knew we wouldn't trust anyone else with our wedding day. Brea worked easily with family members who wanted to have a say in everything, and also was able to catch amazing, hilarious, and beautiful moments. Her second shooter and assistant were amazing and consistent with the style of her photography. We almost wished that it rained on our wedding day so we could have one of her beautiful in the rain photos.
We also chose to do a photo booth with Brea and we got SO many comments of how beautiful the photos were. The props were also great -- some people ended up pulling them from the booth and they ended up on the dance floor, which made for some hilarious photos.
Overall, Brea was an incredible choice for our day and turned around our photos in lightening time. We had a sampling of photos that night, a blog with some photos the next week, and all of our photos back in less than two weeks. -

The very best experience with Brea and her team
We were beyond satisfied with our choice of Brea and her team as our photographers. You can see by just looking at her photos that she is a talented photographer. Her photos are visually stunning and full of emotion. She and her team were able to get not just the beautiful Instagram-worthy shots, but the “little things” that were unique to OUR day. When we look at our wedding photos, I can tell you almost the exact moment something was happening. (“Here’s where you said X in your vows.” “Here’s where our flower girl was being a little goofy.” “Here’s where the strap on my shoe came undone and you had to redo it.”)
But, unlike her portfolio, what we couldn’t SEE until our wedding day was that she is skillful at managing the flow and needs of the day. She gave us great advice on our proposed schedule to fit everything in without feeling rushed. Our families remarked at how efficiently the photography assistant, Brooke, managed the formal/posed family shots, making sure the right folks were “on deck” when needed. She and her team were simply ON IT all day, with everything from a spare bobby pin when the wind got too windy to even bustling my very long train when the formal shots were over so I could finally walk around comfortably. Between Brea and our other capable vendors, we were honestly able to just be present throughout the day because we knew we were in great hands.

She gave us comparisons of what different lighting options would look like so we could make the best decisions for us, given our own preferences and the quirks of the venue.
We didn’t know until we got well into wedding planning how essential the photographer is to the day. Where do I even start? To know Brea is to love her. Photography was one of our most researched vendor items for our wedding. We did not get a videographer, and knew we wanted someone particularly skilled to capture our indoor, elegant evening wedding. We could not have gotten luckier with coming across Photography by Brea. First, she's a phenomenal communicator. She takes the time to meet with each couple personally and her packages include an engagement shoot to get to know one another before the wedding. This was an INCREDIBLE day. Brea is fun, understands and subsequently attempts to alleviate the pressure of the day, and becomes a friend to you and your people. This made such a difference in our pictures, in how my partner and I could interact with one another, and the efficiency to capture all the details to tell our story.

Setting aside for a moment the fact that Brea has been one of my close friends for 12 years, and I've had the honor of watching her grow her business from the time when it was just a dream of hers, Brea is the person you want photographing your wedding. Period. Seriously. She cares about her couples and brings the eNeRgY. And I don't just mean her contagious vivaciousness and awesome sense of humor, I mean the feeling you get being around her that she really, truly loves what she does and she's there for you. Watching her "behind the scenes" so to speak and following her work for the last decade, I know it's just how she is. Throughout the process, Brea answered my questions to help me feel comfortable and confident about what to expect on the big day. There were even logistical decisions my husband and I made for the flow of the day based on Brea's advice that made getting ready and our first look flow more smoothly for us, our wedding party, and our guests. Let me tell you, this woman puts together one beautifully organized wedding timeline. Also, the site she uses to send your gallery makes it super easy to save, share, download, all the things you want to do with your photos. And I mean, the photos really speak for themselves. Where do I begin? My wife and I were absolutely blown away by her and her team!
When we first met, Brea went to great lengths to get to know us individuals and as a couple. She asked us specific questions about our story, our personalities, and our vision for the wedding. When she described her photography style as "photojournalism" with an emphasis on capture moments, we couldn't have been more excited! Suffice it to say, she and her team did not disappoint!
Our engagement shoots (which were two fold) included shots at a local gym and Baltimore's scenic waterfront. When our friends saw the photos, they were blown away. In fact, they called her the "light master" becuase she has total control of light. This is important becuase my wife and I were concerned about the variance in our complexion. However, Brea's work spoke for itself! She is totally a "master of light"!
Leading up to and on the day of the wedding, Brea made sure we had relevant permits for photography. She made sure she was clear on the schedule. She was extremely detail oriented and timely. Hiring Brea as our photographer was one of the best decisions we made. Her vibe is exactly what you want on your wedding day - friendly, calm, and great at taking a million pictures of the wedding ceremony/reception without guests even realizing she is there. Her colleagues Jim and Brooke were also wonderful to work with.
A few days before our wedding, my father ended up in the hospital and we weren't sure whether he would be able to come to the wedding. We started making a tentative plan to have our ceremony at the hospital, and when I told Brea, she immediately asked where and when and said she would be there (even though the ceremony would have been outside of the time we had booked her.) She really is the best.
Luckily, my dad was able to come to the wedding and Brea beautifully captured how everyone felt as he spoke at our reception. Our wedding photos are absolutely stunning - we have received so many compliments from our family and friends. It rained (a lot) all day, and Brea made the most of it - finding great spots around the hotel for our couple's photos and taking truly magical shots of us in the rain at night.

My fiancé mentioned offhand that he knew a really great wedding photographer before we were even engaged. I started following her on Instagram and went down a rabbit hole on her blog, and I was instantly obsessed with her. I could tell that we had a lot in common, and I immediately wanted to make her my friend in addition to being our photographer.
Her talent simply blows me away. I love that her photos capture moments in time and really make you feel something when you look at them. They aren't overly posed, and that's what I really wanted for our wedding photography.
We had such a good time doing our engagement photos. Brea is just fun and easy to talk to. She never makes you feel awkward or uncomfortable, and we were just able to relax and have a good time.....and it shows in our photos. We love them so much.
She was also super helpful leading up to the wedding when I had random questions about veil lengths and vendor recommendations. Then she even fit us in right before the holidays to do a quick mini session with our dog for Christmas card photos.
The day of the wedding, Brea was so much fun to be around while I was getting ready. My fiancé and brother had a great time hanging out with her second shooter, Jim, and Brea's mom was an absolute gem, helping out with family photos, holding my bouquet, and making sure I didn't get my dress dirty before the ceremony. They worked so well with our dog, too, who can get a little noisy!
We got so many compliments from our guests about Brea’s whole team–how awesome Brea and Jim were and how wonderful Brea’s mom was running our photo booth (which was also a huge hit that we highly recommend!) Brea’s team stayed until our wedding ended at 10 PM, and she still sent us sneak peek photos that night!!! We got our full gallery yesterday, and the photos are amazing. We love every single one of them. I’m honestly not even sure how they got some of the shots they did–they truly were like silent ninjas during the ceremony–but every single one of the photos makes me smile.
There are not enough words or space to express how awesome Brea and her team are. Just do yourself a favor and book her the next time you need a photographer, but especially for your wedding. You will not be disappointed. -

Brea was recommended to us by our wedding planner, and she is seriously the best photographer you could ever have at your wedding. She's an absolute professional, creative, has a great team (assistant and second shooter), and produces the most BEAUTIFUL PHOTOS I've ever seen, both of myself and my husband but also of literally everything and everyone at our wedding.
She's very flexible and willing to work with you to achieve your vision - we had a large number of family photos that we wanted, and she managed to not only get them done in the time allotted (we had 2 family sessions, one before the ceremony and one after during the cocktail hour), but also have them all come out beautifully. She also took some gorgeous unexpected shots in different places that, again, came out like works of art!
She's able to work quickly and efficiently, while also managing to somehow be both unobtrusive and a relaxing happy presence. All our guests agreed as well - whenever a good group was together chatting or taking a picture themselves (selfies!) Brea was there getting a professional quality photo as well. She's sneaky in the best way!

It’s true what they say: do not skimp on wedding photography. We cannot overstate how critical Brea and her team were in helping us have the wedding we always envisioned.
It started with the engagement session, in which we grew comfortable with Brea as a person, her shooting style, and the general flow of posing for pictures (don’t forget hand in pocket!). This turned out to be an important piece, as we knew exactly what to expect come wedding day.
A couple months before the wedding, Brea helped us figure out a plan for what shots we wanted with family, how the procession would work, and how the day in general would unfold. She has an easy to use web portal to add all this relevant information, so there weren’t any frustrating emails back and forth! Brea also worked well with our wedding coordinator in a professional manner.
As the wedding date came near and we inevitably had tons of small questions / requests, Brea always answered us promptly and without judgement. She definitely understands what the couple goes through and has experience making the whole process as streamlined as possible.
On the wedding day, Brea and her team were on time and prepared. We knew we could count on Brea to take charge and make sure we got all the shots we were looking for. She even worked with us for some last minute family photo changes without hesitation. Brea and her team are seasoned photographers and it shows.
So, this leaves us with the most important piece - how are the photos? Let me just say this: My parents messaged me one day and said they were some of the best photos they had ever seen, and we couldn’t agree more. Everything from her style to post processing effects are absolutely stellar. I cannot overstate how well the photos came out.

Brea was so wonderful to work with. Leading up to the wedding, she would give her timeline advice and we trusted her and she was totally right with the timing and what we were looking for on our day. She sent out a couple different questionnaires leading up to the wedding to make sure she could give us what she wanted, and she came through. Both she and her second shooter, Jen, were both helpful and professional the whole day and knew the perfect places with the perfect sunlight for our pictures. They also helped bustle my dress! Brea helped make our day the best day and, with our coordinator, helped to keep our day on schedule. Brea got us a dozen photos to us the night of our wedding, a blog post with more photos a few days later, and our full album to us less than 3 weeks after our wedding. Her eye and photos are incredible and she’ll pretty much do anything (including nearly getting stuck on a raft in the Baltimore Harbor) to get the most amazing shots. Not expecting to get married again, but if I do, Brea will be there
When my husband and I decided to get married, we chose to get married (secretly) at the courthouse as it would be a second marriage for both of us; neither of us felt we needed the big event, we just wanted to celebrate us and our love. We planned our wedding in four days so our list of "must haves" was very small but, pictures were at the top. We knew friends and family would want to see a REAL representation of our day, and as far as I was concerned, Brea was the only option for that. Brea spent the day with us and got absolutely amazing pics of us, both candid and posed. I knew what Brea was capable of as I've followed her socials for years, but I didn't know she could make ME, a plus sized girl who did her own hair and makeup, look as good as she did - even when it poured rain on us and the wind nearly blew us into the Harbor. I love every single picture so much that it is impossible to pick a favorite.
Brea is more than just photography though. She braved hours in the hall of Baltimore City Courthouse with us in unimaginable heat while we waited to be called. She served as our witness. She walked the city and rode public transportation with us. She (and her mom, shout out Joanne!) stood in the rain and wind, in February, to get the Basic Baltilmore outdoor pics I so badly wanted. She got to know us - she really cared about who we were as a couple and made sure that WE came through in our pics. She truly wanted to give us something amazing; she cares about her clients. And, shes fun to be with!! Who wants to spend a day with someone boring?
We were fortunate to be able to score her midweek courthouse pricing, but I would have paid anything for her to be with us. I'm fairly confident this was my last marriage, but you never know what the universe will throw at you, so if another one should ever come my way, Brea will be there!! -

WOW! Brea totally blew us away starting with our engagement photos! I am a VERY picky person when it comes to pictures and somehow Brea worked magic! Incredible photographer! Best decision ever.
My husband doesn't like taking pictures very much so he left the photographer decision up to me. I looked at multiple photographers before choosing one but I loved Brea's photos as soon as I saw them. Her photos were so vivid and different from the other photographers we looked at. She is so good at capturing the moment that I found myself laughing at photos and wishing I was there at a wedding for two strangers! During my first conversation with her, Brea was so easy to talk to. I could tell she was experienced and we would be in good hands. She made posing feel natural and relaxed and we had such a good time with her during our engagement shoot. Even my husband walked away saying "That was fun. I really liked her." Brea was the first vendor we booked in 2019 (We were supposed to get married in 2020 but had to cancel due to COVID and rescheduled for Oct 2021). Brea was flexible and easy to work with during the pandemic wedding stress. She made herself available to our new date with no hassle at all. She is quick to answer email and always made herself available to us. The day of the wedding Brea and her team really put the PRO in professional. She made sure to have a designated person to help with our dog, she helped with my bussle, she made sure I had a cloth napkin to use during the horah and she got a blood stain out of my wedding dress just in time for family portraits. She was so organized throughout the entire day which helped me stay calm and collected. Not to mention she provided me with a bunch of sneak peak pictures the night of my wedding. We were extremely happy with Brea as our wedding photographer. Initially, we chose her because of her ability to take amazing shots. I do not even know where to start with this review of Brea, she is just indescribably amazing! We were first drawn to Brea when looking through her online portfolio and realizing how artfully she captures real moments – not in a light-and-airy-wedding-vibes sort of way, but in a what-it-was-like-to-really-be-there sort of way. She was exactly what we were looking for.
We had a zoom call with her during Covid and immediately clicked. I mean, hung up the call and said “let’s go with her” 2 seconds later. The process was seamless. Brea was so helpful leading up to the wedding with creating the timeline – she worked closely with our day-of coordinator to ensure that there would be ample time for photos and make sure we wouldn’t feel rushed on the day. She ensured that our day went smoothly, and basically acted as our day-of coordinator before the start of the ceremony as we traveled around to different locations for photos. She sent us a questionnaire a few weeks before the wedding to make sure she knew every detail of what we were looking for – which family shots, how many detail photos of the reception, any particular family dynamics she should be knowledgeable about – it was amazing and so thorough.
On our wedding day, she was an absolute PLEASURE to be around. We had met before for our engagement shoot, and immediately hit it off with her and her second shooter Tommy. To have them both there for our wedding day felt like seeing old friends. Brea’s team captured EVERY. SINGLE. MOMENT. of our day. I mean every single one. She delivered our gallery in less than three weeks (totally unheard of, ridiculously fast, and during the complete chaos of the 2021 fall wedding season), and looking through the 1,000+ photos felt like actually reliving our day.
We will never be able to thank Brea enough for capturing our wedding day so perfectly and beautifully. My husband and I can’t stop scrolling through our photo gallery and saying to each other, “this is why we hired Brea” – because she just has this way of capturing people that shows exactly what the day was like and how everyone felt. I first discovered Brea's photos on instagram and was immediately drawn to her talent for lighting and silhouette shots. Photography was the most important thing for me, so I knew I wanted to hire a great one. Well, Brea was great and then some! She went above and beyond all of my wildest expectations! She weathered the storm of the pandemic with us (including postponing with us twice), did a last-minute save the date shoot (literally an hour before lockdown), our engagement shoot and then finally our wedding. All of her photos are truly amazing. She has such a talent and I will forever treasure the gifts she gave us! On top of all of that, she is an amazing person. So kind, funny and just easy to work with (plus, so helpful and responsive to questions). She made us feel so at ease during all of the shoots and really helped us to pose so we didn't look crazy awkward. Plus, during our wedding reception she did an amazing job photographing many of our guests and tons of amazing moments. We are so thankful for her and her talent and hope to use her again in the future! -

Brea is amazing. My wife and I were drawn to her more true-to-life photography style and candid shots, and she definitely did not disappoint. We had her photograph our intimate wedding over two hours and got 254 photos, including candids, portraits, and bunch of super creative couple shots (I don't even know when/how she took some of the photos that she got). She was punctual, professional, and very easy to work and generally get along with.
Turnaround time was similarly impressive. I don't know when this woman sleeps, but we got a handful of sneak-peak photos the same afternoon and then got the full album and blog post link 5 days later.
We will 100% turn to Brea for the next time we want photos and can't recommend her enough for anyone who wants real, artistic photos.

Where do I start with Brea? I am so thankful my co-worker recommended this photographer, because not only is the process of selecting any professional overwhelming for most newly engaged couples, but can be difficult for any super picky person like myself. My husband and I got engaged back in December 2018 and booked our venue in January 2019, where all the other vendors followed suit. Brea was a delight to meet with and discuss all of our wishes and concerns about being photographed (since we don't love pictures of ourselves) and eased our minds through it at her lovely home office. Our engagement session took place at our venue in November of 2019 and even though it was freezing outside, Brea made it so much fun and we felt so much better about being photographed after! We absolutely adore those pictures and use them all the time. Then, struck COVID-19 and our wedding (June 2020) had to be delayed not once (January 2021) but twice (finally August 2021) and Brea handled our tough situation beautifully. We were so back and forth about having the wedding altogether but I am so glad we did - because what they say is right, the day was a total blur and went by so fast, and I couldn’t be more thankful we worked with Brea because she captured every moment and emotion beautifully. I continue to look at our photos and laugh and smile because I truly can re-live the day and feelings through them. She captured some out-of-this-world photos and even joined us on the dance floor and photoooth, which I thought was so cool and made us feel special that they had fun during our day, too. The only difficulties we had were getting some family members dressed to match our pre-planned timeline, and she also handled that in a gentle, calm manner with her crews help and we got everything that we wanted on our wishlist. Another great aspect was the organization of the event. I am a huge planner, but she had it all covered with her prompt responses, flexibility, questionnaires and wishlist. She even recommended our videographer and DJ, who also turned out to be fabulous. I will go to her for all the big events in our future and would recommend her to anyone who wants the coolest photos you’ll ever see. There is absolutely nothing like them. Thank you again, Brea!!! -

I put off writing this review because I know I can not do Brea justice with my words, but I need to start somewhere and I need you to know how capable, professional, talented, and FUN she is as a photographer.
From the first virtual consult, we knew she was the right fit. She connected effortlessly with my husband and me and chatting with her on Facetime felt more like catching up with an old friend than it did meeting our photographer for the first time. Any anxiety I had about the photo-taking process (which was a lot) was dispelled and I found myself getting excited that someone would be documenting the day. For a shy, introverted, and self-conscious guy like me that is saying something!
Brea was wonderfully flexible with us and allowed us to select a package that included engagement photos, but opt out of taking them at the typical time folks get those done before the wedding day. We elected to instead have a relaxed family shoot (with our pup, Oscar) in the Spring of the next year, and she accommodated that as a part of our package.
That family shoot day was a blast! Her assistant, Jim, was a champ that day and handled our strong dog despite Oscar's best attempts to drag him around by the leash. I was anxious about looking and feeling awkward on camera but her instructions, suggestions, and guidance were effective, efficient, warm, and patient. There were some poses and angles that I could not fathom making good photos, and I was proven incredibly wrong when we got those photos back. Every single one captured moments, emotions, and attractions between my partner and me that I did not know a camera could capture. We got edits of her favorite shots that same night, and the complete portfolio was done shortly after that. The turnaround was weeks before I anticipated!
The day of the wedding was another exemplar of their creativity, vision, and patience. We were married in Old Ellicott City on the hottest day of summer, and we set out to take photos around the city at high noon. My partner and I were sweaty, cranky, and immensely thankful that Brea, Jim, and their third assistant were there to magically make the process still fun despite the circumstances. Same as the first photoshoot, they took shots in areas I didn't know existed and at angles that confused me, but when we got the photos back every single one made me beam. The town looked magical, and they captured the anticipation and excitement that was laying underneath our complaints about the heat!
During the wedding, I barely registered they were there. I am sure that was partly due to being so busy with the day and overwhelmed by the outpouring of love from our family and friends, but I'm also suspicious that maybe Brea and her team ARE capable of magic and made themselves invisible. The photos highlighting the dancing, conversation, and tender moments make it look like the camera was up close and in our faces, but they truly were not!
Camera magic, I can not explain it any other way. I do not know how she and her team do it, but I am oh so glad we had her on our team to do it. I am even more thankful that she got to know us beyond the lens of her camera, that we got to know about her, and that I can confidently say that I had an ally and a friend as my photographer at my wedding. -

Artistic, easy going, incredible!
Finding the perfect photographer for a wedding is no easy task. Wanting to find the right person to capture the most magical day is a lot of pressure. After looking at Brea’s portfolios and meeting with her there was no doubt she was the PERFECT photographer for us. Her photographs extract emotions and feelings. Brea’s artistic talents pull every bit of emotion that goes on throughout the entire day. From the bride and groom, to family, and friends, she creates a story that makes it fun to look back at. She is easy going, flexible, encourages your inner weird, and is hardworking. Her and the second photographer have it down to a science that you don’t even notice they are there! Brea is absolutely phenomenal. She captured so much beautiful and raw emotion from the day, that brought us to tears just looking back at the pictures. Her photos will leave you speechless. Brea's specialty is really capturing those candid moments throughout the day. She works hard to make you comfortable acting natural around the camera and it really pays off when you see photos of moments that you didn't even realize you wanted on camera.
Her team is just as talented as she is. We had Jim and Courtney helping for our wedding, and the three of them worked so seamlessly together. Brea even stepped in to help, above and beyond the expectations of a photographer
when we needed a quick hand with hair touch-up, wedding gown buttons and flowers.
To sum up Brea in a nutshell, our best man sent us a note after seeing the final photos saying simply, "thanks for reminding me how bad our own wedding photographer was."
Brea has been with us to capture our proposal, our engagement photos and now our wedding day. We can't wait to work with her again one day, and know she will be our family photographer for life.

Brea and her team are the BEST! From our initial visit with Brea, we could tell we would be in good hands. Her ability to tell stories and capture raw emotion through her photos is truly inspiring. We had a blast at our engagement photo shoot- her chill personality made it easy to open up and have fun, which made for great photos! Our wedding then got postponed due to COVID, but Brea was very communicative and understanding throughout. When our wedding day actually came around, her whole team was excellent to work with. They were adaptive, relaxed, and made everyone feel at ease. They captured so many incredible moments, and our guests have not stopped raving about the photos! I'll probably run out of characters writing this as I can't say enough good things about Brea Shaw- as a person and a photographer. Your special day is one thing, but getting to relive it over and over and over again after the fact is another. I was a COVID bride- from 12/31/20 to 12/31/21 to "screw it, let's just get hitched! (1/1/21)." Every time we had a change of plans, Brea was locked and loaded, flexible and ready to go. Over the course of the last 2.5 years, she essentially agreed to give up 3 holidays for each time we had rescheduled. When we called her with 4 days notice of wanting to get married, there was no panic, no stress, just, "Hey, let's hop on the phone and discuss what you're looking to do and we'll make it happen!" Whether you're eloping or planning the elaborate celebration of your dreams, I cannot recommend Brea enough. When we look back on our pictures, we can feel ourselves in that moment... at our venue, surrounded by our family, drenched in love because that's how well she captured it. Brea is a kind soul with a creative mind. Rainy wedding day? Brea is ready- in fact, I think she secretly loves the curveballs and it shows in her ability to photograph magical moments with not so cooperative weather. In this world, you get what you pay for. And when you pay for photography by Brea, you have properly invested in arguably one of the most important components of your special day. If it's not Brea, it's not for me (or my husband)!! -

When Life Gets Blurry Adjust Your Focus
Like many couples in 2020 we weren't able to go through with our original wedding plans. Once we decided to go with a small family ceremony in our neighbourhood park the first vendor we searched for was a photographer, and I am so happy we went with Brea! She was easy to get in touch with, and always very responsive.
A few days before our wedding she suggested we meet up to scope out some spots in the park. I really appreciated her offer to do this as it was a great way to meet each other before the big day.
The day of Brea made us feel at ease, which says a lot because I am very camera shy. We were able to get some beautiful shots around the park as a couple and, once our families arrived, of the ceremony. Only a few hours after the wedding she sent us a few sneak peak shots from the day, which was a wonderful surprise and great touch on her part.
I would absolutely recommend Brea; she is down to earth, funny, and a dream to work with. -

Our Photographer for Life
We couldn’t have asked for a better photographer for our engagement and wedding; we feel so fortunate to have found Brea. When searching for our engagement photographer, we looked for pictures that were warm and charming (not stiff poses and/or blinding bright skies). What made Brea stand out from the rest was her portfolio, a literal showcase of those small moments people often miss, but, when caught on camera, can be treasured for a lifetime.
During our engagement session Brea did a tremendous job showing us how to pose in a natural way that would create beautiful pictures. After seeing our early morning cherry blossom pictures we knew there was no one else we wanted to photograph our wedding.
Fortunately, Brea was willing to travel for our Colorado wedding. Unfortunately, because of COVID we had to scrap our original wedding plans in Colorado for a “minimony” in DC at the last minute. With four weeks before our wedding, Brea understood completely and willing to work with us, even whipping up a new wedding timeline now that we no longer had our day-of planner. Brea encouraged us to be our “weird selves” on the big day; she caught some of our favorite moments, ones that reflect our personalities. Throughout the day Brea did a great job not disrupting these moments as she weaved in and out with her camera. She felt like one of our wedding guests … who just happens to take amazing pictures.
What we found in Brea was not only a photographer (and new friend) to capture this chapter of our lives, but someone to capture the rest of our lives. In addition to wedding ceremonies she does family photos as a day in the life, capturing an average day of a family. As we plan to grow our family over the years, we know that we will continue to hire her and look forward to a home with a gallery wall filled with pictures she took of our family from the beginning.

Nearly all of our married friends and relatives gave us the advice that the one part of your wedding day that you'll care about the most after 5 years (or 50 years) is the pictures. We looked at over a dozen photographers and we couldn't be happier that we decided to go with Brea. She is everything that you could hope for: professional, experienced, talented, artistic, adventurous, and friendly.
After our initial meeting to see if we would be a good fit, we had our engagement shoot. We had some nervous energy that day, but Brea made us both feel completely comfortable with her and in front of the camera! It was great to get professional pictures for our guestbook and save-the-dates as well.
Like so many other couples, we had our plans up-ended by the pandemic. We re-scheduled twice and Brea was communicative and flexible throughout the whole ordeal. She's a true professional who we could tell really wanted us to have a happy and drama-free wedding. We would encourage anyone in the planning stages of their wedding to ask their vendors how they handled cancelling and re-scheduling events during the pandemic. Brea passed this test with flying colors!
We ultimately decided to go with a very small outdoor wedding, with most of the day filled up with getting photographs at some of our favorite landmarks around the city. Brea helped us select the most aesthetic locations and vantage points to get unique and beautiful photographs (even mapping out where the Sun would be on the day of the event to make sure we would have good lighting), also being sure to plan in realistic travel times from location to location.
On the day of the wedding, Brea and her team (Tommy and Jim) expertly carried out all of the plans. They all wore full PPE and carried a huge array of gear to handle different shots and lighting conditions (including some spectacular night-time and rain photos). They were all professionals but also so warm and fun that it felt like hanging out with old friends; they are more like wedding guests who happen to take amazing pictures than hired vendors. They were completely unobtrusive during the ceremony and reception; when we got our pictures back there were lots of great shots that made us both say, "I didn't even know she was shooting then!"
The pictures themselves are stunning. They run the gamut from artistic black-and-white shots of us in the city, to perfectly framed photos of us with our parents after the ceremony, to wild candids of our faces during the raucous Best Man's speech. Brea texted us a handful of great shots to share right away the night of the event, which was awesome since we had so many friends and relatives that we couldn't invite. We got the full collection of hundreds of edited shots 10 days later; an amazing feat since we essentially turned our wedding into an all-day photo shoot. We are so lucky that we will get to revisit these beautiful, evocative pictures for all of the years to come.
Despite all of the difficulties that the world has faced this year, we were able to have a joyous wedding and share the most special moments with everyone through these pictures. That would simply not have been possible without Brea! -

After being a bridesmaid in a wedding in 2016 where Brea was the photographer, I knew that I had to have her shoot my special day. Fast forward to 2019 when I was engaged--Brea was my first email and I scheduled my wedding date around her. From our first meeting, she made us feel comfortable and we had so much fun getting to know her. For our engagement shoot, she followed us into Camden Yards (where Chris works) and took amazing shots of us there (in addition to a beautiful location she recommended in Fells). Brea’s work is top-notch. After seeing our engagement pictures, we were even more excited for our wedding day. Fast forward again to 2020 and COVID. We were a couple stuck with making a scary and difficult choice; do we keep our wedding date? We decided to move forward with our wedding on 9/12/20. Brea, like many vendors in 2020, had to face the uncertainty of COVID and its potential implications on her health. She stuck by us, mask and all, and we navigated the challenges and uncertainty together. She was always reassuring, positive, and thoughtful. She came, smiling as always, and shot spectacular photos. We have received so many compliments on our photos and, for good reason—Brea is the best, hands down. Brea was accompanied by Tommy (second shooter) and Brooke (assistant), who were equally as kind and amazing. The photo booth Brea provided was a huge hit and we definitely recommend it. Throughout our engagement and wedding, we not only had a great photographer, but we made a great friend in the process. We cannot wait to work with Brea again.

Brea is an amazing woman and I'm so lucky I found her so she could be part of my wedding day. She is an incredibly talented photographer with a lot of experience in couple's photography. She literally taught me how to be comfortable in photos. My fiance and I were both nervous and skeptical about our engagement session. Brea taught us how to pose with each other. There was nothing cheesy or uncomfortable about the process. I feel like I always make a funny face or hold my arm weird, and we only spent 90 minutes together at the engagement shoot so I was unsure how it would all turn out. I was floored when I saw the photos.
By the time the wedding day arrived we put all our trust in Brea and she helped us along with a few notes and ideas. Our photos turned out more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. And these are not the cookie cutter Pinterest sepia toned memories, these are authentically "us" memories make me cry with joy every time I look at them.
Brea works fast at every stage of the process. Brea and her team did not run around the wedding frantically creating distractions during the ceremony (I have definitely seen photographers acting frantic at other people's weddings). Brea and her team unobtrusively pop in and out of the moment to get the perfect photo. Brea starts editing as soon as the event ends. As early as the wedding night she was texting us choice moments from our day so we could immediately start posting professional photos on social media and sharing images with friends and family. Hundreds of proofs were fully edited and ready to download in my inbox within in a week. I don't know anyone else who works this fast. I think it must be because she genuinely enjoys her work and gets excited to see all the images.
I asked so many people for wedding photographer referrals. Most people I talked to told me they were not happy with the vendor they used. A coworker told me about Brea and I'm so glad I found her. To say she was flexible and easy to communicate with is the understatement of the century.
Brea is my secret honorary bridesmaid, my unofficial day of coordinator, and my personal vendor referral service all in one.
I felt very comfortable having Brea and her assistant Brooke in the bridal suite with me, even with the inevitable little moments of family drama that can spring up on a wedding day they helped me stay focused on feeling beautiful and excited for my wedding.
Because she knows how to get her photo and works so fast, Brea got us in and out of all our posed group photos and we still had plenty of time to mingle and enjoy our time with our guests.
Brea is such a talented and friendly businesswoman and so when I wanted a last minute videographer she was able to refer me to an amazing vendor in my price range. No need to research other local vendors - just ask Brea for her recommendations and she will point you in the right direction.
Brea is also great at working with animals and children. She is whimsical and playful but at heart she is a true romantic and her love of love comes through in every image. I am so grateful I met her and I look forward to working with her again when I am ready to document my next big personal milestone. Thank you Brea for helping me preserve these special memories! -

We cannot recommend Brea enough. She came highly recommended to us by our friend who is in the wedding business. After a quick look at her work, we knew we wanted her as the photographer for our wedding. You can tell by her pictures that Brea not only knows how to capture the “standard” wedding shots but also captures the emotions and little moments that really make a wedding.
Not only does Brea take absolutely stunning photos, but also she is an absolute joy to work with. For our engagement pictures, Brea (and Tommy, who is also incredible) hiked with their photography equipment on the Billy Goat trail near Great Falls. They found beautiful spots along the hike to take our pictures; the pictures were stunning, and better than we imagined. By the end of the shoot, we were sad to see them leave because we had such a fun time hanging out with them. Needless to say, we knew we made the right choice in a photographer and were excited for her to take pictures for our big wedding. Then, the pandemic hit and we made the difficult decision to change our large wedding to a micro wedding with 16 people. Brea was nothing but professional and understanding of our situation, and was so helpful in planning a last-minute micro wedding. Even on the day of the wedding, my mom joked that since we decided not to have a wedding party there, Brea became my honorary maid of honor. She not only took pictures, but also helped me get ready – She is honestly just an incredible person.
We have already planned to use her for our postponed larger celebration, and even joke that if we cannot use her for that, we will use her in the future for her life photography. Even my family told me how wonderful she was to work with and how happy they were that we chose Brea to be our photographer. We are so grateful to her for capturing these important moments in our lives!

Brea photographed our wedding on August 7, 2020, after dealing with a date change due to COVID and we couldn’t have been happier. She is not only an amazing photographer but person as well! Artistry with compassion, Brea helped us make the most of our pandemic wedding
Brea was our first choice photographer back when we first started planning our wedding since we were already familiar with her and her work, however she was booked for our original date (6/6/20). Then, the pandemic hit and we made the difficult decision to cancel our wedding since most of our family and many of our friends would have to travel from out of town and who knows when that will be safe again. Instead, we began planning a small micro-wedding complete with picnic. It was extremely low key and hodge podge but since our families wouldn't be able to be with us in person we knew we wanted pictures that would help our families feel as if they were there. We reached back out to Brea to see what her availability would be for our new date (7/18/20) and if she would be comfortable photographing such an event, and lucky for us she was!
Brea was so communicative and understanding throughout the whole process. She showed us so much compassion and helped us salvage what normalcy we could from the day. Brea even sent us some sneak peaks the night of the wedding! Neither of us think of ourselves as super comfortable in front of a camera or particularly photogenic but Brea captured moments we didn't even realize were happening, she's truly a gifted artist. We just got all our photos from her and they are just beyond anything we could have imagined! Brea was the perfect photographer to make a small picnic with only 8 people feel like a full day with all our guests in attendance. She captured the emotions of the day so well it really does feel as if you're transported when looking at them. We would hire Brea again in a heartbeat, her professionalism and artistry as well as her compassion are truly unmatched. We are so grateful she was able to photograph our day. -
