We had our wedding ceremony held at Phineas Swann this past March. There were 8 of us and 4 dogs. Our requirements for the wedding included: a cozy place for us and our guests to stay the weekend, a reception dinner, and having our dogs part of the fun. We booked Phineas Swann for our wedding weekend, sight unseen going solely based on reviews. Darren and Lynn’s bed and breakfast fulfilled all of our wishes and more. They have established a professional, beautiful, and flawless business with all the needs any guests would want or didn’t think of. The staff (Gina and Matt) were personable and you could tell they enjoyed their jobs. Darren and Lynne made our stay feel like we were in the comfort of our own home. The owners have put their heart and sole into Phineas Swann and it shows. The rooms, including the common areas, exceeded our expectations. The rooms have the coziest beds and the cutest decor. Their food (breakfast and ceremony) was exceptional!! It’s nearly a month later and we are still talking about the delicious food. The staff even accommodated a special diet restriction for one of our guests. As for the wedding, we were just at the start of the coronavirus pandemic so you can imagine how anxious we were days leading up. Darren and Lynne assured us we would be safe and the inn would be clean/sanitized. There was no doubt about it! The wedding ran so smoothly. Darren and Lynne have developed relationships with outside vendors such as hair, florists, bakers, etc. Our wedding package, “Just the 10 of us”, included a cake which I must say was the best cake we have ever had at a wedding. Couples worry that the cake is wasteful but this was the absolute opposite. The flowers were also gorgeous and we even dried them so we could have a wedding day souvenir. We plan to return again as a family in the near future and look forward to a relaxed, fun filled weekend.

I cannot begin to describe how wonderful it is to work with Lynne and Darren of the Phineas Swann! After our initial meeting, my husband and I were completely sold. They took care of so many aspects of our wedding that I can honestly say I was not stressed about planning our wedding at all. Lynne and Darren crafted our perfect day by taking care of much of the decor, appetizers, the meal, the cake, the flowers, accommodations, linens, tables, chairs! The list goes on. Not only was our wedding weekend affordable, but it was so beautifully orchestrated as a result of the innkeepers' offerings and abilities. I would recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat and have them to thank for such a perfect weekend that made for a wonderful start to my marriage. And don't take it just from me - our friends and family who stayed as guests made sure to mention how much they loved the venue, not only for the ceremony and reception but also for the accommodations and meals. And as a bonus (as if you needed more!) - there is a covered bridge, not 5 minutes away that makes for some gorgeous wedding day photos!

This place is not only beautiful to have a wedding at, but also amazing. We bought some things for decorations but the rest was all Phineas. They did an amazing job with the decoration and the food was also amazing! Considering the price in total and what is included in the price (it's a lot) it's well worth it and you can bring your dog as well! I would reccomend staying in the Black Bear Suit if you are having a decent sized wedding and want a room to accommodate your wedding party for getting ready, that is what we did then just had to stay another night to enjoy it again!

Phineas Swann was amazing for our wedding. We are a pretty low key couple, and were so lucky to find Lynne and Darren at Phineas Swann. From the moment we contacted them we knew we found the right place. They took all the stress out of the planning and orchestrated everything for us. We were able to make it our own without stressing over decisions and details. It was all taken care of from dietary restrictions to the decor to the officiant- they covered it all. They also refered us to a few local photographers and the one we went with was fantastic.
It was a perfect low-key weekend with our immediate families and it was exactly what we wanted. We all stayed for a full weekend and enjoyed all Phineas Swann had to offer.

Lynne and Darren at the Phineas Swann made our day even better than we could have imagined! Lynne kept me organized by following up about every detail. They hosted our rehearsal dinner of 60 people and the wedding ceremony/reception of 75. If anything went awry, I was blissfully unaware. They were professional (and helpful) at every turn. They incorporated decorations and projects (that I came up with at the last minute) without hesitation. They even had heaters in the tent for the unexpected cooler weather! Our guests loved staying at the Inn over the weekend too! Breakfast was a big hit, snacks and local activity recommendations were plentiful! We've already decided to visit for our first anniversary. THANK YOU again for all your hard work & for handling everything. We can't imagine having our special day anywhere else!

Darren and Lynne made my rehearsal dinner absolutely everything I wanted and dreamed it to be. It was a beautiful setting for my out of town guests to stay and relax. It was quintessential Vermont, and everyone loved it! I love the fact that they are dog friendly, so my now husband and I were able to bring our lab with us!! The food and beverages were delicious, and we really enjoyed the bonfire to end the evening at the Trout River house! The smores were delightful! They made my guests feel extremely welcome!

My wife and I contacted the Phineas Swann Bed & Breakfast Inn to host our wedding and we are so glad we did. Not only did we have our ceremony there but we also booked the whole Inn for our dream weekend! They were able to accommodate our whole wedding party for the weekend and host our spectacular wedding. From the food to the ambiance, everything was perfectly planned! we cannot thank Lynne and Darren enough for the fantastic weekend and wedding. It was perfect.

My wedding at Phineas Swann turned out to be the wedding of my dreams---and I never even visited before I booked. Every detail I imagine and discussed came to life in front of my eyes--and even more. What a beautiful and quaint B&B with excellent service. The new owners Lynne and Darren were extremely helpful with every detail of my event and went above and beyond to accomodate my family during our stay---going as far as going to the local VFW to get a wheelchair for my dad.

The gardens were a beautiful venue for the ceremony and there we so many beautiful places to take our wedding photos nearby and onsite that we had to narrow down our options to fit within our timeframe.

Hands down best wedding venue for an outdoor and fall wedding!

Let me start off by saying we are a same-sex couple and nobody else took as good of care as Jay and John did for our wedding. From the second you call or contact them making your arrangements to the time your packing your things to leave the staff at Phineas Swann Bed and Breakfast are at your beck and call. We arrived to a perfectly manicured location full of amazing gardens and grounds and freshly made chocolate strawberry's made only about 10 minutes before waiting on our bed for us. They made sure that every need that us or our families needed where always at hand and at the ready whether it be restaurant suggestions or directions to get the girls nails done. The breakfasts were the best I've ever had and the fact that its personally made for you and your guests makes it even more amazing. They made our cake and helped us find a great officiant that had the same quirky personality as we did. Being that I am a florist I made our boutineers and corsages but the other flowers that they supplied were beautiful and went well with every part of our wedding. The service was in the gardens tucked in a little grove where we stood and everybody could stand around us and join in such an amazing day.

I hope this gets posted. I rated this establishment (5) stars. My youngest daughter was married there and I was a bit apprehensive on the location, but once I got there I was impressed at the decor. It brought back a lot of memories and made quite a few more. I did not know that a place like this existed in Vermont being I am from Montana. The food was fantastic, the staff went above and beyond accommodating the last minute changes. The only regret I have is that I could not spend more time there. There was so much to see . Absolutely delicious. We went with Chef's choice and what Vermont had in season. It 100% surpassed anything I was expecting.

Amazingly friendly and flexible staff. They honestly made the B&B feel like it was ours for the weekend. Every face had a smile and everyone was extremely inviting and warm. Everyone was also responsive and attentive to anything we needed done/changed.

All in all, this was the perfect wedding spot for my wife and I. Vermont is an amazing state and the Phineas Swan is a perfect addition to Vermont. If you plan on getting married in Vermont, I would look Phineas Swan up first.

We had our wedding at the Phineas Swann in June 2011, and were thrilled with the entire thing. We booked it sight-unseen, as we were planning from NC and didn't have the opportunity to travel to VT in advance, based on reviews and talking to Jay on the phone. We could not have been happier with the results. The location is quaint and picturesque; the staff made our entire party and guests feel like we were truly at home, and they did EVERYTHING we asked to make our wedding weekend perfect. The wedding dinner and breakfasts were delicious.

Perfect wedding weekend-- all of our guests stayed on-site, and we didn't have to do a thing except relax and enjoy the weekend. They handled all the details! New managers now, but they are hopefully following the same process that John and Jay (previous owners) established.

We had our wedding at The Phineas Swan September 23 2017. We could not have asked for anything better! The staff was amazing and professional. They were extremely responsive and accommodating from the first day we met with Lynne and Darren to even after the wedding. The food was delicious and they decorated with everything with everything that I asked for, plus added a few touches that really made it special. We would have our wedding there all over again! Guests have continued to tell us how is was one of the best weddings they have ever been to and we think that the venue was one of the top reasons!

My husband and I were looking for a relaxed wedding with great food and that is exactly what we found at Phineas Swann. We had small wedding and all of our guests traveled from out of state. The B&B was the perfect place for all of our guests to stay for the wedding weekend. The rooms are beautiful and our guests love staying there for the weekend. There were so many places for all of us to hang out- the river and fire pit, the deck, the living room, and, of course, the hot tub. Lynne and Darren made all of us feel so comfortable that it truly felt like our home for the weekend. The food was amazing and everyone raved about it for days. The wedding was exactly what we wanted- relaxed and stress-free. Lynne, Darren, and their staff took care of most of the planning and coordinating for the day and it could not have went more smoothly. My husband and I are excited to return for our 1 year anniversary!

The Phineas Swann was the perfect location for our intimate wedding with close friends and family. Lynne took care of every detail, the decorations were flawless and the whole day went off without a hitch. The food was fantastic and service unbeatable. The grounds are meticulously cared for and that dedication is apparent in ever picture from the day. The guest rooms are inviting and the beds incredibly comfortable. Breakfast was to die for, and the hospitality was second to none. Lynne & Darren took care in making sure our special weekend was beyond our wildest dreams and they succeeded.
