Samantha Contreras and her team did an amazing job from start to finish. Our November wedding was perfect at Scripps Seaside Forum. We chose PTD because of the reasonable quotes and the fact we could trust them with all rentals. That was the best decision we made! Samantha handled everything from flatware to drapery. For around 100 people we ended up spending a little over $16k for rentals, tray passed appetizers, full buffet, and churros. It did absolutely feel like a white glove experience which justified spending that much. Especially in an industry where you can spend that much on much more underwhelming service.
Our wedding day ran smoothly despite the downpour of rain. We loved that they knew the venue and worked seamlessly with our day of coordinator.
The food was amazing we cannot stop getting compliments on the red wine demi glace short-ribs that were actually better than they were in tasting. We had a perfect amount of food. Thank you to Samantha and her team! -

A Truly Personal Experience
We had an incredible experience with Personal Touch Dining from start to finish and couldn’t recommend them more highly! They made the wedding planning process smooth, organized, and genuinely enjoyable, which made a huge difference during what can be a very overwhelming time. Communication was clear, thoughtful, and supportive every step of the way.
A huge shout-out to Samantha, our event manager, who truly went above and beyond. She was incredibly responsive, kind, and never once made us feel silly for asking questions. Even when something wasn’t possible, she always followed up with a thoughtful solution and helped keep us on track with deadlines in the most gracious way. The dinner tasting experience also felt so personal and special, and we loved being able to see and choose from their beautiful assortment of rentals, which really helped us envision the day.
On our wedding day, their service was outstanding! The wait staff were attentive and warm, making both us and our guests feel so well taken care of. Our guests especially raved about the bartenders, and of course, the food was phenomenal! We were getting compliments for days on end from our gusts about how delicious everything was!
We are so grateful to Samantha and the entire team for helping make our wedding day seamless, stress-free, and truly memorable! We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone planning an event!! -

Personal Touch was great to work with for our wedding. They were very responsive to questions, updates, and requests. The service and quality of food day of was fantastic. We had several guests compliment the food. Their attention to detail to make a great experience was evident by including sparkling cider for kids in the champagne toast, the servers going out of their way to ensure we always had a drink, and the care package of food specific for us as bride and groom to take home separate from the other leftovers. Highly recommend Personal Touch Dining and will gladly use them for future catering needs. -

Nothing to complain about with Personal Touch! They felt like one of the more affordable options that were available at my venue and I liked how much we could streamline through one vendor: all the lighting, furniture, design, + all the food was great. The tasting was super fun and let us try lots of yummy dishes, such a nice date night. And I added/removed some things last minute and they were very accommodating with the changes! -

Personal Touch Dining (PTD) was an absolute dream to work with. From start to finish, they were responsive, professional, well-organized, and genuinely thoughtful in their approach. We were looking for a catering and bar vendor that felt elevated and polished—and PTD exceeded our expectations in every way.
Their menu offerings were extensive and impressive, with delicious options for hors d'oeuvres, dinner, desserts, and even late-night snacks. The bar menu was equally flexible, with multiple tiers and the ability to customize. We were thrilled that they happily incorporated our signature cocktail (a Jungle Bird) and provided accommodations for various dietary needs, including tree nut and shellfish allergies, gluten sensitivities, vegetarian guests, and even a kid-friendly meal for our nephew.
Despite my last-minute request for a tasting (due to planning from out of town), they accommodated me with grace, and the experience felt anything but rushed. It was clear from that moment that we were in excellent hands. A special shoutout to Samantha Contreras, our main point of contact and Sales Manager, who went above and beyond to schedule the tasting and guide us throughout the planning process. She was incredibly responsive, knowledgeable, and kind—truly a pleasure to work with.
In the weeks leading up to the wedding, the PTD team remained communicative and supportive, always making us feel like a priority. They coordinated seamlessly with our wedding planner, making the entire planning process smooth and stress-free.
On the big day, every detail was executed flawlessly—from linens and flatware to custom bar signs and table numbers. The food was delicious, the carne asada fries late-night snack was a huge hit, and we received endless compliments from our guests. The staff was friendly, attentive, and professional, and the bartenders brought just the right energy. A special moment we won’t forget: one of the catering staff joined in on the dancefloor (cheered on by guests!), adding to the fun, celebratory vibe of the evening.
A special shoutout to the staff manager, who made sure my husband and I always had food and drinks in hand—even as we bounced between photos and guests.
PTD was a standout vendor that delivered both exceptional service and unforgettable moments. We’d recommend them wholeheartedly to anyone planning a big event. -

We had Personal Touch Dining as our wedding caterer in November 2024. They were AMAZING! I found out about them on The Knot & reached out earlier in the year about what they have to offer & see if it fit what we were looking for on our special day. From the get go, they were very quick to respond & their communication throughout the whole process was a 10 out of 10. Ashley & Samantha assisted us with everything from quotes, to food options, tables/chairs, anything you could possibly think of that goes into a wedding. We appreciated their professionalism, having knowledge about their services/product, and making us feel like we were not alone in this planning process. They did everything in their power to make sure our vision came to life. When wedding day came, the whole venue set up was absolutely beautiful, the food was SO good, and the all the chefs/workers/servers were sweet, polite, and accommodating. We would definitely highly recommend Personal Touch Dining for any event you would need catering for. We couldn’t have asked for a better vendor to make our wedding day as special as it was. We worked with Annalisa and Ashley, both were extremely professional and always answered any of our questions promptly up until the day of our wedding. The service and quality of the food was exactly what you would expect to serve at your wedding. Amazing Experience with the PTD Team!!
Annalisa and the PTD team were AMAZING for our wedding back in March 2024! Our guests couldn't stop talking about the short rib, the mashed potatoes, and our churro station for months after. Annalisa was highly communicative throughout the planning process, and even offered support in finding other rentals vendors that they commonly work with. When we went to do our tasting, they put on a little date night for us with candles, soft music, and a fully plated meal, which was so sweet and such a nice surprise in the midst of a busy work week. PTD's entire staff at the wedding, from the servers to the bartenders, ensured our guests had everything they needed and were timely with all of the courses and drink requests. The team also put together a huge plate of all the apps for my husband and I to eat at our table since we missed the majority of them at our cocktail hour, which was awesome considering how little chance the bride and groom often get to eat. Choosing a caterer is one of the most important parts of a wedding, so I was SO relieved to find a company like Personal Touch that truly took what can often be an underwhelming part of a wedding to the next level!! Personal Touch catering was on the preferred vendor list of our venue, Scripps Seaside Forum. After reaching out to five vendors and having two tastings, Personal Touch shined as the obvious winner. During our planning journey with Personal Touch, they made it easy to customize our meal selection, plan for allergies, and stick by our sustainable values. We had a cocktail hour and sit down dinner, which was delicious from start to finish. They even went the extra mile to create a tray for the bride and groom to privately snack on. During our sit down dinner, the guests raved about the food, and the bride was particuarly happy that it came out hot. They were very professional, well-dressed, and efficient. They even were accomodating to help serve wedding cake after the dinner service at no extra cost! Our one small complaint is that the wait staff was a little too efficient at bussing the cake from tables during the dancing hour; many guests were unable to enjoy desert. Otherwise, we would use them again and again! -

I had a wonderful experience with Personal Touch Dining for my wedding catering— at an affordable price point too! It is hard to put into words how absolutely incredible our experience with Personal Touch Dining was for our June 2023 wedding. Even the simpler things, such as the tasting day, were amazing (no seriously our tasting was the best date night ever!!). Special shout out to Annalisa from PTD for making this so special! On the day of the wedding, everything was perfect. In a unique manner, we had an entirely vegan wedding spread. As a vegan bride and groom, this was extremely important to us, and PTD really delivered. The guests (none vegan) seriously RAVED about the food. Specifically, the stuffed shells dish! At the end of the wedding, all food was packed up for us and sent home for us to enjoy and share for the days to come. This was especially amazing because we didn't get to eat as much as we would have liked on the day of. When we were seated for the reception, we even had a plate of the passed apps from cocktail hour waiting for us and were brought plates to quickly eat before dinner. As you can tell, I have only good things to say about PTD. Thank you SO much for being part of our special day, we're so grateful for such an amazing vendor. -

We hired Personal Touch for our wedding at the Martin Johnson House in February and were pleased with their service! After contacting a few other vendors from our venue's preferred caterers list, PTD seemed very reasonably priced and offered a wide range of menu options. They even coordinated our rentals (tables, chairs, lighting, space heaters, etc.) and cake (from Flour Power bakery) so that we did everything through them, which was very convenient. They were very communicative throughout the planning process, which was helpful as we were planning from across the country. Everything went relatively smoothly on the big day, the set-up was beautiful and food was good! We were pleased and would hire them again -

My husband and I are very pleased with our experience with PTD. We had our wedding at the Japanese Friendship Garden and they provided their catering service, rentals with set up and break down, and bar service. Annalisa made the planning process for our event simple. She kept an open line of communication and all of the information they provided was very clear and detailed. If Annalisa was not available, Sam was able to answer our questions in a very timely matter. When we scheduled our taste testing, we were able to make our meal choices for our wedding there as well as the rentals. It was hard to pick our menu because everything tasted so wonderful!
PTD’s staff went above and beyond to take care of us and our guests. While I was occupied during cocktail hour bustling my dress, they came to the bridal room and provided an appetizer plate for me and my bridal party to make sure we would not go hungry. They also left one for my husband and I at our sweetheart table. Some of our guests arrived after the dinner service and the buffet was already cleared. The staff went out of their way to still serve them a warm dinner. Not only did they pack all of the leftover food, they also packed mine and labelled it because I did not have a chance to finish my dinner.
All of our guests had nothing but great things to say about the food and drinks! They also enjoyed having the ice cream bar during our summer wedding. We truly appreciate PTD’s service and are so very thankful for making our wedding celebration a wonderful one! -

Personal Touch Dining was our caterer for our wedding at Mt Woodson! Everyone raved about the food that was served at our wedding. We did the tri-tip and parmesan chicken with mashed potatoes. We got so many compliements on the food. Our guests also really loved the appetizer option of the grazing table which was like a large charcuterie board! Our deserts were also provided by Personal Touch Dining and they were also fantastic! They also give you all the leftover food packaged to-go after the wedding! I would highly reccomend Personal Touch Dining as a wedding vendor! -

Personal Touch truly brought my wedding dreams to reality. From the delicious food & appetizers, to the rentals & linens, to handling day-of problems with ease, Personal Touch was amazing. I was a COVID bride and through several rescheduled dates, Personal Touch was so accommodating and flexible. The day of I forgot to bring the garnishes and the wine I had bought expired. Personal Touch filled in with garnishes and went out and bought new wine- my guests loved the new wine they chose. They really went above and beyond. I specifically want to thank Annalise and Sam, Tracy, Lauren. Everyone was so incredibly patient and flexible and truly caring. I would recommend them to anyone and hope to use them again in the future. -

Personal Touch Dining went above and beyond with providing our catering and rentals for our wedding. We booked them in 2019 for our August 2020 wedding which unfortunately had to get postponed twice. We were finally able to have our dream wedding in September 2021 and it was everything we hoped it would be. Throughout those two years I exchanged COUNTLESS emails with Lauren, Alle, and Annalisa and they were all so helpful with answering all the questions I had and providing us with exactly what we wanted. The rentals were great quality and the food was amazing. The appetizers were all so good and I crave the mahi with the coconut curry. All the staff was very friendly and attentive and there’s not a single thing I would change. Thank you for helping our wedding be so memorable!

Our experience with Personal Touch Dining was great! They provided our wedding reception with the cocktail hour appetizer spread, dinner entrees and bar package. Harbor View Loft was the perfect choice venue for our wedding. It met and exceeded our expectations. The food was all delicious and the staff were on top of everything 120%. It did get toasty inside at the reception (summer wedding), but all the outside space/tables/games meant our guests could walk outside to cool off and look at the view. Overall, we are SO glad we chose this amazing venue for our special day that we will remember for a lifetime. Our guests raved about the food and the views, and I can't wait to see all of our amazing pictures with the water and downtown at sunset as the backdrop. Thank you so much!!! -

Best Catering in San Diego
Personal Touch Dining is hands down the best catering company in San Diego. Annalisa was AMAZING to work with. They catered our DIY wedding at the San Diego Botanic Garden and it was perfect. The food was delicious and the staff was kind and easy going. They also offer rentals through them. For example, I rented terracotta table runners.

From the moment I met my wife, I knew it was meant to be. From the moment we walked onto the grounds of Leo Carrillo Ranch, we knew it was where we'd be married. Finally, from the first time we met Kendra and the team at Personal Touch Dining, we knew they'd help us create the night we'd always dreamed of, and they did! Kendra was the ultimate professional and made everything from the menu, decorating, and yes, even the billing, easy and painless in the year leading up to the big day. At the rehearsal and on the day itself, she and Darcie ensured everything went off without a hitch! I cannot say enough about Personal Touch Dining! They were a dream to work with for our wedding at Scripps Seaside Forum. They really treated us so well during the entire process They responded to my every request in the planning process, they made our tasting very romantic and special, and their staff was incredible on the day of our wedding. We didn't have a planner, and they were such an asset! The food was really delicious (we went with the taco bar!) and they have a really great selection! They made our cake and I got multiple compliments about it from guests afterwards. -

We wanted our wedding to be casual and more of a party than a dinner. We chose 4 pass around apps for cocktail hour and a buffet dinner with a hot fudge sundae bar in lieu of cake. We loved working with Personal Touch. They were accommodating to our needs and budget. We loved the tasting at the PT office, we tried many delicious options and they even boxed up the left overs to send home with us. The set up at our wedding was clean, presentable, and nicely decorated. Our guests loved the food. -

For my daughter's wedding for 125 people: The food is amazing! The service, the staff, including office staff were all beyond helpful and treated us as important as any bride (and her Mom) planning her wedding hopes to feel about something so important. From my first phone call to inquire about services and a quote to the day of, I can't say enough of how well they executed everything. High quality, reasonably priced, have many options for linen color and event decor. -

Personal Touch Dining did a wonderful job with our wedding catering from start to finish. We requested proposals from 3-5 companies during our initial search and Personal Touch first impressed us with their affordability which was very important to us. Sometimes affordability can translate into lower quality for service/taste/etc. but such is NOT the case with PTD. From my initial email their sales representative was extremely responsive, curteous, and helpful. She tweaked our proposal multiple times so I could get a feel for the costs and what to expect before our tasting which I really appreciated. Our tasting went beautifully and everything tasted great! As we got closer to our day we worked with another staff member named Brittany and she was an absolute joy. So sweet, very responsive as well, and had great energy when we met in person. Everything tasted and looked great on the day of our wedding. At the end of the night we were ready to leave and one of their staff asked if we'd like to go boxes of the dinner food. I responded that we were leaving on our Honeymoon, but to give it to my parents, which they did. However, the server then asked about us taking some dessert back with us and we didn't even realize that we never got to eat our own desserts due to being so busy the whole night! I emphatically replied YES and really appreciated that person going above and beyond to make sure we got what we needed, and things we didn't even think about. My husband and I were able to enjoy the delicious cookies and chocolate covered strawberries provided by PTD in our wedding night suite along with our cake which they boxed up for us as well. Really really appreciated that extra effort to track us down and ask.
There were a couple minor things we addressed after the fact when asked about our experience and Lauren was very quick to remedy these details which was also very impressive to me. Highly recommend this company. -

Personal Touch Dining was amazing! From the beginning the staff was wonderful to work with and answered all of our questions regarding their menu and service. They had so many options to choose from and when it came down to the delicious food our mouths just exploded from the yummy goodness. Our menu tasting was professional and presented to us just as it would be presented to our guests. They were even accommodating to me and a few guests who had food allergies. They made sure we had the proper table set up for our guests & our venue and even helped make a few changes when our guest count changed. It was amazing having a caterer who also provided tables, chairs and linens as that was one less thing I had to do and worry about. It was a one stop shop and every bride can appreciate that. For our food we had a sit down dinner and our horderves were crab cakes, bbq pizza, and beef wellington. For our dinner we had roasted beet & mandarin salad and then filet mignon or white sea bass pan seared with mediterranean spices. All of the food was very fresh and delicious. It didn’t taste like your typical catering food. During our wedding the staff was very attentive to our guests and making sure everyone had everything they needed. There was a little mishap during our toasts and not having champagne flutes on the table but that was so minor no one even noticed. Overall we are so happy that we choose PTD they are professional and most importantly their food is phenomenal.

Personal touch is exactly who you should hire for next event/wedding! Our tasting with them for our wedding was so nice- they made us feel so important. When our actual wedding day got here at Orfila Winery all of our guests couldn't stop talking about how amazing the food was. The cornbread chicken is to die for. We wouldn't change a thing! They provided passed wine after our ceremony, champagne pour for our speeches and the buffet was piping hot. We highly suggest! -

Love personal touch dining!
My daughter Rachel and new son-in-law Andrew choose Personal Touch Dining from their 'one and only' tasting as they loved the food and delivery. My daughter has discriminating taste and has since she was a child. We also had 2 Executive Chefs as guests and they concurred!! I volunteered to write this review due to my satisfaction as a parent. I was not involved with the selections, but borrowed the menu for printing. We used the menu from the tasting to make our own for the guests which included appetizers through the desserts. It was a nice touch to the dinner table. Instead of cake, the newlyweds did desserts. The chocolate and white cake pops were divine and the churro stand a hit! They also chose a full bar which was beyond affordable. Brittany was their go-to for catering. The staff we so professional and took care of everything! Personal Touch Dining operates Mt Woodson Castle, Leo Carillo Ranch, and several other wedding venues near San Diego. My wife and I originally called them to inquire about Leo Carillo Ranch; the ranch was not available on our wedding date, but Mt Woodson Castle was and so we went to check it out. It took all of a few minutes for us to realize that it was the venue for us, and shortly thereafter we entered into business with Personal Touch Dining.
The package that Personal Touch Dining provided includes access to the venue, catering, and coordination (pre-wedding and day-of.)
Many of our guests described Mt Woodson Castle as "magical;" many of our guests told us that the food was the best they'd ever had at a wedding; my wife and I feel the same way. I'm not really sure what else needs to be said on these fronts.
We loved the inclusion of wedding coordination with our package. Iman was the coordinator who handled most of our pre-event planning. I loved her communication style: she laid out all of the decisions that we needed to make and talked us through everything that we had questions about. Iman actually left the company a week before our wedding, but she transitioned everything to her coworker Leah and our event went off without a hitch.
Our day-of coordinator, Rian, was a pleasure to work with. He helped put my wife and I at ease during the rehearsal by staying late with us and ironing out details. On the day of the wedding, he was in constant communication with our vendors and with us. Our pre-ceremony events and our speeches went longer than expected, but Rian kept us on track and made up time wherever he could. Out guests were very impressed with the flow and with the transitions.
The event staff did a fantastic job of setup, teardown, and serving our guests throughout the day. It was such a whirlwind that my wife and I barely noticed that the staff was there. But looking around, it was abundantly clear that they had been working hard and keeping the event running smoothly. We thank them profoundly.
Personal Touch Dining included pre-event and day-of coordination with their base wedding package. With this taken into account, their pricing was far lower than comparable venues. My wife and I found Personal Touch Dining / Mt Woodson Castle to be an excellent value, considering how expensive weddings can be.
We would both happily work with Personal Touch Dining in the future, but neither of us plans on getting married again so it would have to be in a different capacity. -

From the tasting, to the coordination (thank you Annalisa), to the big day itself; they were a breeze to work with and most importantly, the final product was superb! They accommodated our desires, guided our uncertainties, and even welcomed our unique cultural request -- lechon, lumpia, fried rice (cauliflower fried rice at that!). Of course, they nailed it! The little bit of leftovers that we had were handed to us after the party, and boy were they munched on, late night status. Bravo PTD...bravo!

Personal touch dinning did a great job catering our wedding. They even accommodated some of my vegan guests pretty easily. The food was great. Everyone seemed happy. Leah also did a fantastic job as the day of wedding coordinator. The whole wedding process went by without a hitch because of their hard work. Highly recommend their service. -

My points of contact Lauren & Iman were beyond professional and prompt with returning my emails and phone calls. They were reliable up to the very last detail as I made many last-minute changes to the set up and timeline of my wedding day. The staff day-of were impeccable and food/beverage service was seamless, my business partner and day-of coordinator, Billie, even said that she did not have to prompt them for the champagne toast as they were already on top of it. Reed was very attentive and made sure everything went off without a hitch.The food was delicious and my glass was never empty. I would absolutely recommend Personal Touch Dining to my friends, and intend to recommend them to future brides. Cheers! -

Bella Sent on 07/10/2012Tracy and her team are amazing throughout the entire process! They were able to work within my budget and customize menu items. We even had a tasting which was so much fun!
They are very friendly, extremely knowledgable, and always available for questions. Tracy knows everything and has great resources for other vendors as well. I really enjoyed working with them and I think the biggest compliment is that my guests were going back for seconds and raving that it was the best wedding food they had EVER. Personal Touch Catering is a great choice!!!
