Delicious!

Best Wedding Cake ever! Received many compliments. They were so easy to work with and were very affordable! I liked everything I tried in my tasting I ordered the same thing for my cake. I ordered a 3 tier cake for 75 people and a sheet cake for the rest. I was able to change my order to a smaller sheet cake when my guest count ended up being lower then expected. Book Pastries by Randolph today!

Pastries by Randolph provided the Cake for our wedding this last May in Washington DC. Their pricing was extremely reasonable and Ricky walked us through the whole process of selecting the size, flavors (which there are MANY of), and decoration. They delivered it on time, and it was DELICIOUS and looked beautiful! We highly recommend them!

If you need a wedding cake or pastries look no further. Pastries by Randolph is a high-end pastry shop and the wedding cakes are made directly by the owner. We ordered wedding cake and pastries and all were delicious and the wedding cake looked beautiful. More than one person told us that it was the best wedding cake they had ever tasted. We also received excellent customer service throughout. Thank you again Deborah!

We have been customers of Randolph's for years and they are one of our go-tos for birthday cakes, pastries etc. They were very easy to work with on our wedding cake, we simply went in and selected the flavours of cake, jam, frosting etc that we wanted, and arranged it all on the spot. They were very helpful in advising on our options and we ended up getting a 2 tier cake for cutting, and a separate cake for pre-plating - this worked really well. Cake was delivered on time and it was really delicious! Exactly what we hoped for and very reasonably priced. Overall the experience was easy and straightforward and I would absolutely recommend them.

We had a marble mousse cake with white chocolate shavings from Randolphs' as our wedding cake. It was super quick and easy to work with the manager and order a cake from her. They delivered it on time, and it was delicious like always. They are awesome.

Absolutely the best wedding cake out there. We had guests who tried the cake before the wedding and said they were excited about the wedding because of the cake. The wedding coordinator said that this was one of the first weddings she had done where there was no cake left over because people actually ate the cake. We ordered a vanilla cake with strawberry mousse and vanilla buttercream icing. It was light, refreshing, and did not have that overly sweet, refined-sugar taste. Absolutely perfect (and incredibly affordable!!!).

The Cakes we SO DELICIOUS!! We ordered two cakes, a wedding cake that was white with raspberry buttercream, lemon syrup, and a raspberry jam and a black and white mousse cake. Both were really amazingly tasty (the few leftovers we have are not lasting long). Zak and Debbie were so helpful to make sure the design was exactly what we wanted and were really accessible and easy to work with. Plus the pricing was really great. The rest of their pastries and baked goods are great too, so going in to see them for a tasting or consultation was never an issue since we always left with some tasty treats too. Overall, couldn't be happier with what we got from Pastries by Randolph.

I had an exact vision of what I wanted my wedding cake to look like, and Pastries by Randolph recreated it right down to the blush ribbon and the orchid placement. Not to mention that the lemon buttercream cake was delicious! I hadn't actually gone to the cake tasting (my in-laws did) so I was pleasantly surprised when I had my first bite during the cake cutting! I'm still upset that I'd only had one bite before my slice disappeared...

Our guests absolutely loved our cake! I worked directly with Lito and Deborah. They were extremely helpful throughout the process. I was able to contact them through phone and emails. We were also able to get a custom design for our cake! It turned out even better than my hubby and I had imagined it would be.

Pastries by Randolph, in general, is one of our favorite bakeries. We would also recommend them for any kind of cake, in general ;)

We ordered their wedding cake #510 (Marble Mousse Cake) ... and all I can tell you is that I've never tasted a better cake at any wedding, anywhere. Our guests even wrote about how heavenly it was in the guest book. We order it each year on our anniversary and are so happy the bakery has been around for all 13 of our anniversaries! (Married in 2000 ... the dates on this site didn't go back that far)

Two of my cousins got their wedding cakes from here and so did I..it's kind of a family tradition now! Their cake tasting appt is super easy. You just call in to say when you want to come in, what flavors you want and they have a box waiting for you. You can eat it there or take it home with you. They give you really generous portions to taste at no cost. My wedding cake turned out beautifully and my guests absolutely loved it!! Their prices are competitive and we were able to save a lot of money by using a sheet cake for the rest of the servings.

My cake was exactly as I had requested and tasted even better than I recall the samples tasting. The cake was delivered on time and in perfect condition even though my wedding was in Rockville, Maryland. I have already recommended them to others and I continue to frequent this vendor for other sweet treats.

My fiance and I ordered our wedding cake from Pastries by Randolph and couldn't have been happier. At the cake tasting, we were given huge portions of each flavor such that we took some of it home to have family members try out before making a final decision (which was tough- all the flavors we tasted were delicious!). In addition, there was a very helpful binder that showed all of the different cake designs divided by price range, which made it easy to find something that worked with our budget. We ended up choosing a smaller, three-layer cake and getting additional sheet cakes to cut down on costs, which they were happy to do. After placing our order, the folks at Pastries by Randolph were great about communicating with our venue, confirming with us when we called to check in, etc. On the big day, Pastries by Randolph delivered the cake exactly as promised- it looked beautiful, tasted great, and was exactly what we wanted. :)

They were on time and the cake was beautiful. I selected a marble mousse cake and my guests could not have been happier. Many of my guests admitted to me that they ate multiple pieces of cake, I'm so glad they enjoyed it as much as we did.

Pastries by Randolph was great to work with. We got a yummy chocolate cake with raspberry filling for our wedding. Guests loved it, and it looked beautiful. The bakery was happy to accommodate our preference for a small cake for cutting and larger sheet cakes to feed guests. (We were turned off by another bakery that really looked down at our preference to do this in order to save some money.) Pastries by Randolph had a wide range of styles to choose from and seemed willing to accommodate any preferences when possible. They had something for everyone from very simple to more ornate custom creations. The delivery person was right on time the day of the wedding, and she was able to add the cake topper I gave her the day of the wedding without a problem. I would recommend them to any bride without hesitation.

We were extremely happy with our wedding cake vendor. Not only was it beautiful, it was moist and flavorful. People are still talking about how delicious it was. We picked a buttercream frosting and used a raspberry buttercream and lemon curd filling on one layer with chocolate buttercream on another. The scrolling design and buttercream flowers were beautiful and professionally done. The staff was very responsive to some changes that we made. They delivered the cake on time and in great condition in spite of the massive storm and power outages the night before.

Delicious! They had a bunch of different flavors to choose from. I am not a huge fondant fan so we went with buttercream. Our bottom layer was yellow cake with vanilla syrup and toasted almond buttercream. Our top layer with chocolate cake with amaretto syrup and white chocolate buttercream. Loved it. We shall see how the top layer saves for the one year. If not, I'll go back to the store to get a small cake! Love that bakery!!

We had a great time tasting all the wedding cakes around town but my daughter decided on Randolph’s based on the tastings, their stellar reputation and their “out of this world” chocolate mousse cake for the Groom’s Cake. The cake was a classic butter cream with smooth icing and Swiss dots around the bases as my daughter requested, a beautiful classic. They used the topper from her parent’s wedding the same one her grandparents used. It could not have looked or tasted better.

The cake was beautiful, delicious, reasonably priced and delivered on time. It was exactly what we wanted (they even managed to make the buttercream icing...since I'm not a big fondant fan...almost look as smooth as fondant on the outside). We had them make a wedding-cake version of their lemon buttercream. Once we tasted it we kept going back to pick up the regular smaller cakes for various events, and I'm sure we'll keep going back to re-try our wedding cake. The guests raved and the venue staff was thrilled when we took the leftover we want and they were still left with a ton (the portions are generous anyway, and our guest list was trimmed significantly by the incoming hurricane) to eat themselves!

Our cake was not only beautiful, but DELICIOUS! Pastries by Randolph will not disappoint and they were easy to work with. Delivery went off without a hitch. In addition, their prices could not be beat. We added a Napoleon pastry grooms cake as well and wow it was good!

We live right by Pastries by Randolph and visit often. So it was an obvious choice to have them do our wedding cake. Everything was all set in motion and all planned out. A couple of days before the wedding, we realized our cake topper was a little bigger than our top piece of cake was. They didn't hesitate and changed and rearranged the cake to make it work. And on the day of the wedding we had a great, delicious cake that had a cake topper that was perfect size for the cake. Thanks Randolph!

I have lived in Arlington for years and always knew how great Pastries By Randolph were. When it came time to get a wedding cake from them, I knew exactly where I would be going. They work with all kinds of budgets and help to cut costs where they can. They were able to maintain the theme of the wedding (peacock feathers) and it was executed beautifully. They arrived at the venue on time and set everything up excellently. They are professional and personable and answered all my questions in a timely manner.

Randolph was GREAT! We could do a free cake tasting, where we were lucky that we found our cake. Then we got the exact great taste at the wedding day and a great look of the cake. We feel very lucky that we picked Randolph because the cake looks great on the pictures as well. They were totally affordable, work with our special requests, and gave us ideas by spending time with us looking through their wedding book. I don't think we could have asked for more. Thank you!

Our cake was DELICIOUS and looked beautiful. The staff at Pastries by Randolph was incredibly helpful in advance by creating samples images of the cake and testing out colors so we were able to pick exactly what colors we wanted on the design of our cake. I only was able to snag a small bite, but we received a ton of compliments on the cake and the small bite I had was fantastic!

Randolph's provided our 3-tier cake for our wedding and it was fantastic. After tasting many dry or heavy cakes at other vendors, Randolph's was the best tasting as well as the best value. They were easy to work with and provided cake samples that gave us a good idea of the finished product. Our cake was vanilla cake with raspberry and almond buttercream fillings. The cake was moist and the trellis design in buttercream was beautiful. They even called us the night before to double-check the design details. Everyone loved the cake, having 2nd and 3rd pieces. Pastries by Randolph did an amazing job! My cake looked stunning and it tasted amazing as well! My husband and I worked with Deborah Randolph and in the beginning gave her quite a challenge. We wanted our cake to be hand painted or piped with a peacock feather border, it wasn't a problem and they created two mock ups for us, they were amazing but not bridal enough so we went with a classic dotted pearl cake that was everything i had envisioned and so much more. Our florist added fresh flowers and peacock ornaments that i had found to it, and it was simple and so elegant. You will not be disappointed on taste either we went with a lemon cake with a lemon butter cream and raspberry filling! Delicious!!!

I worked with Deborah Randolph directly and she was phenomenal. We have always ordered cakes from this bakery in the past during Christmas time and for special occasions so when it came to ordering my wedding cake, I KNEW where I wanted to get it from.

We forgot how good our cake was until we ate it again the night of our wedding. We had tasted it almost 10 months earlier. It was phenomenal. I had made a few last minute adjustments to my order and Deborah accommodated without having me worry about anything. She was great to work with and I highly recommend this place to anyone in the future!

Pastries by Randolph did a great job with our wedding cake. They were so helpful when we were ordering samples and choosing a cake design. They gave us great advice, which helped us narrow down the myriad of choices. The cake looked beautiful, and was really delicious! I usually don't remember wedding cakes, but this one was definitely memorable.

The other bakery we had hired had unexpectedly closed the week of the wedding, so it was so very kind of Pastries by Randolph to squeeze us in 5 days before the wedding .The associate at the store was so helpful in making sure they could create the same cake we originally designed and it even ended up being cheaper than our original bakery! The final product was beautiful and delicious.

Pastries by Randolph was so refreshing to work with. They didn't insist that my cake had to be a "wedding cake", unlike other vendors I spoke with. The cake was delivered on Friday because of an impending blizzard, but it was still moist Saturday afternoon. And the buttercream frosting is to die for. I hate frosting of any kind, but I just wanted to keep eating the buttercream frosting that Pastries by Randolph uses. We had quite a few guests tell us the cake was the best they'd ever had at a wedding. You can't go wrong with Pastries by Randolph!

I had cupcakes and a small wedding cake from Pastries by Randolph at my wedding. I would travel for miles and miles to have the cupcakes from this bakery. They are the best! The cake was so good and very, very affordable compared to other bakeries in the area.

An excellent cake vendor for the couple who does not need a lot of follow-up. Randolph's fondant cakes are priced in the same range as buttercream cakes elsewhere... an excellent value for anyone wanting a fondant wedding cake. This sold us on Pastries by Randolph. They showed up on time to our reception site, they also did not need to continue to follow up with us during the months leading to the wedding. We cannot wait to go back for out anniversary tier as we have had no problems from this company... they are excellent. Great flavors, great fondant styles, great prices.

My husband and I tasted a lot of wedding cakes and although this was not the best wedding cake we had, it was a very close second. What Pastries by Randolph had going for it was the cost. The wedding cake was not the most important part of the wedding for the two of us. We just wanted a very simple wedding cake and we found a "template" that they had that we really liked. We chose a fondant cake and had them dye the fondant to match our color scheme. Everyone enjoyed the cake but we had plenty of leftovers. We saved the top of the cake for our first year anniversary and it was just as delicious as it was on our wedding day. It was probably the fondant that kept everything moist for all those months.

When we were looking for a cake, we really wanted a cake that tasted good. With Randolphs we met that goal. The cake was the best wedding cake that I ever tasted. My husband and I regret not eating more of it. Yum.

We ordered our wedding cake from Pastries by Randolph, since they had a partnership with our reception venue, Clyde's of Tysons Corner. My event manager at Clyde's was involved in the majority of the correspondence with Pastries by Randolph, since I was planning my wedding from the West Coast and was not available for taste-testing and visits. I just sent a few photos as examples and gave a description of what I wanted my wedding cake to look like. My husband and I were a little worried about how it would turn out, since we were not very involved in the process, but we were incredibly impressed with the wedding cake that greeted us on our wedding day. Pastries by Randolph concocted the most perfect cherry blossom three-tiered fondant wedding cake for us, more beautiful than we had imagined! Not only was it aesthetic stunning, but delicious as well. Our guests continue to rave about how great the cake tasted and looked even after the wedding. Thank you so much for a truly lovely wedding cake.

The wedding cake was amazing for my wedding. They were able to understand the exact design I wanted in addition to the taste. It was perfect in moisture and I received compliments from all my guests. Price is reasonable, you can't find cheaper cakes since food prices are soaring.

At the beginning we had some problems with the
responsiveness but then we sent an email and the owner contact to us and we have to tell it was the best decision ever! They recommend us the correct size for our cake and the pastries for our sweet table, also the wedding day the owner delivered our cake and gave specific recommendations to the catering to conserve it. At the end we received many many compliments about the cake and pastries even we couldn't have extra piece of cake for our anniversary lol.
We were really happy hiring Randolph's and for sure I will hire then again! The cakes, pastries and service were so good! 100% recommend!

I worked mostly with Vin to get my wedding cake figured out and he was great. I tried four different bakeries and so many of them were overpriced and the cakes were good, but nothing incredible. For the fantastic quality of their cakes, it is an extremely good value. They have a dozen different flavors for their cakes, icings, and syrups which means there are literally over a hundred possible combinations of flavors you could get! My cake design was very simple butter cream with real flowers on it as opposed to any intricate icing decoration, so I can't really speak to how artistic they could be, but they had a sample book that was filled with different possibilities. The cake was amazing. The prices were fair (we needed to have enough for about 140 people and for under $600 that was possible).

The one things I could complain about is that the only way to communicate with them is by phone, and the same people aren't there every day so someone who has never even heard of your wedding may answer the phone and be the only person available to answer questions or work out details. It would be really great if they used email. I was planning my wedding from afar and I am 2 hours behind the DC area so sometimes I just couldn't find the time to call them during their open hours.

I ordered an assortment of mini pastries from Pastries by Randolph for my daughter's wedding. The pastries were delicious (our favorites were chocolate obsession and key lime pie); they were a pleasant change from wedding cake or cup cakes and we got numerous compliments from our guests.

The flexibility rating is a 4 vs. 5, because there was a minimum order of 200 pastries, more than we needed for our smallish wedding (80 guests).

We had a wonderful experience working with the staff at Pastries by Randolph while we were in the process of selecting our wedding cake. We had visited a few of the other popular bakeries in the area, but Pastries by Randolph was by far the best. Although my husband and I are big on dessert, we do not normally go for cake, usually favoring other options (i.e. crème brûlée). While on the hunt for our wedding cake, we were somewhat disappointed by the dry consistencies and boring flavors we experienced elsewhere. However, we were pleasantly surprised by the options available at Pastries by Randolph. All of the cakes we tried were moist and the flavors were far more creative than the norm. When my mother wanted to try more options, apart for the three we requested for our appointment, the staff went out of their way to bring us other types of cake, frosting, and syrup combinations. We ended up choosing a different flavor for each tier of our cake. My favorite being the chocolate hazelnut and my husband’s, the chocolate truffle with Grand Marnier syrup.

We highly recommend Pastries by Randolph for their wedding cakes, or just for a nice treat (the dessert selection is vast and so beautifully prepared, each pastry looks like a work of art).

My family and I have been getting treats from Pastries by Randolph for years, so when it came time to get a wedding cake, this was an easy decision. However, we still did a couple of taste tests with other vendors just to be sure we were getting a good price, and a good cake. When we went in to sample the cakes, they allowed us to pick several different flavors. We were then able to take the samples home to taste test them there. Most other places make you try them all on the spot, and it can be rather overwhelming and awkward, not to mention quite a sugar rush. They delivered the cake on time on the day of the wedding, and it tasted great! Not frozen or leaning. Perfect. I would highly recommend.

It's hard to suggest that any wedding cake in this area is a good value for the cost since they are all so expensive, but I did feel like Pastries by Randolph gave us a cake that looked more expensive than it was and tasted great. When you have your tasting, take the cake home and let it get to room temperature. We had it when it was cold and didn't like it, but tried it later that night and we were sold on it.

Don't expect a full service cake tasting. They don't really spend time with you helping you decide what sort of cake you should get it - they just sort of throw the samples and the book of pictures at you and let you figure it out yourself. It was unusual, but it worked for us.

We selected Pastries by Randolph for our wedding cake after seeing their delicious white chocolate mousse cake at Dean and Deluca in Georgetown. It was very easy to set up a cake tasting with them, and the manager that assisted us with our order was very nice. The cake was delicious and looked amazing, but our only issue was that there was not supposed to be ribbon decoration on the top layer as we had told them we would be putting a flower topper on top of the cake. Not a huge deal as our venue was able to still gently place the flowers somewhat over the top.

We got 300 petite cookies - 200 butter, 100 mexican wedding - for our wedding for 81 dollars. They were great value and tasted delicious. My only issue was that they were not very good at keeping track of the order. The day before the wedding I called and it took 3 people to find the order. It was worth it...those cookies = little clouds of buttery deliciousness.

Amazing Cake

The cake flavors were amazing! We did a display cake and a sheet cake and they had no problems doing that. There was some confusion at the tasting, but they comped it because of the confusion. The only downside was that they don't do deliveries on Sundays (including long weekend Sundays), so we had to have someone pick up the cake for us.

I always knew that I would want Randolph's chocolate mouse cake as a wedding cake -- it is simply the best cake in the Washington DC metro area -- delicious. We ended up with a marble (brown chocolate and white chocolate mouse inside) and white chocolate outside. The only downside is that because of the type of cake it was I was limited in the outside pattern but believe that we came very close to having an incredible tasting cake that also was lovely on the outside. Lisa's allergic to flour. Since most cakes and almost all wedding cakes are made of flour, this posed a problem in our search for a wedding cake or desert. Since cakes were out due to the allergy, we looked for other options for a fun desert to cap off the day. Our wedding planner found out that Pastries by Randolph made a small selection of wheat-free deserts. We went by the store and ordered samples of all the wheat-free items that they sold. I don't think they're a wedding cake baker, the store is a neighborhood pastry shop with tasty torts, cakes, cookies and breads. We liked the wheat-free deserts they made, and so just had them bake a whole bunch of the small individual deserts for our wedding. We had a desert buffet with all the wonderful small treats. We loved it because it helped close out our wedding in a nice fun way with deserts that Lisa could enjoy. Everything served at our wedding was food that Lisa could eat. The deserts were tasty and we loved the presentation that our caterers did with the buffet.
