Best officiant around hands down!
I have been to my fair share of weddings and the officiant can really make or break the ceremony portion of the wedding (the most important part!). I have seen everything from officiants getting the names wrong to forgetting to do an exchanging of the rings. Not David Sweet. He scheduled a conversation with me to go over what we wanted in our ceremony. I grew up in a different church than my now husband and a different denomination than even David Sweet preaches at but he did a PHENOMENAL job! Even my grandparents were over the moon talking about what a great ceremony it was and how he was the best officiant they had ever seen! They kept talking about it the next day even! He made our ceremony exactly what we wanted. He was also great about briefing the groom and the father of the bride on their duties before the ceremony started. This was beyond helpful since due to my own schedule conflicts I couldn’t have a rehearsal. Additionally, he was quick to send me a picture of our signed marriage license that we needed for our honeymoon and quick to mail it off. We got our license back from the clerk before we even returned from our honeymoon. He is thoughtful in what he does. Before announcing us as husband and wife and allowing the first kiss, he hopped off to the side to not be in any of the first kiss photos. I hadn’t thought of this previously but was grateful that he did! He doesn’t make you sign a contract which you may feel uncertain about but no need to fret or worry. He is a man of his word. Don’t hesitate; book David Sweet!

Great experience!
My husband and I came to Austin from South Mississippi to get married at Chapel Dulcinea. When looking for an officiant, we wanted someone who was strong in their faith and didn’t just say they could do a religious ceremony. David was just that! He was helpful with many things leading up to the ceremony (marriage licenses, ceremony flow, etc.) He showed up early and helped guide us through the venue. He insured everything was in order before we began. The message he shared during the ceremony was perfect and just the right length. We worried about there being no contract or security deposit, but he showed up in every way we could’ve imagined and more! I would use Pastor David a million times over! 10/10 experience!

Wonderful wedding Officiant
Pastor David was a wonderful officiant and did a great job with our wedding ceremony. He was kind, professional and always quick to answer any questions. A few days before the wedding, we had scheduled a call which had answer many of our questions that helped us feel prepared and confident for our big day! He made the ceremony run smoothly and highly recommended him to any couple looking for an officiant!!

We are so incredibly grateful to Pastor David for officiating our wedding at Chapel Dulcinea 💒 He made our ceremony feel so personal, meaningful, and Christ-centered from beginning to end. The way he incorporated Biblical scripture and spoke about marriage was absolutely beautiful and heartfelt.
He was warm, professional, calming, and timed everything perfectly, which helped the ceremony flow so naturally and peacefully. I wasn’t really happy with the officiants that were originally provided to me based off of countless negative reviews & I know everyone’s experiences are different, but this was an important day so consistency is key. Scrolling across Wedding Wire I came across Pastor David Sweet. Honestly his name sounded adorable & intrigued me, but also he had a ton of positive reviews to back it up.
Pastor Sweet was so prompt at reaching out after I asked about availability & pricing. He is extremely communicative which I very much appreciate since that keeps me from being anxious. Not to bore anyone with the details, but our civil ceremony was lack luster & our officiant was very dry, this time around we knew it had to be perfection. Pastor Sweet started our ceremony with a prayer, a few different scriptures, then allowed us to read out aloud our vows to each other. Everything flowed so naturally, you can tell he genuinely loves what he does.
From the constant communication & to making sure everything was scheduled accordingly, he made me feel such at ease. The ceremony was beautiful, everything went so smoothly & that had everything to do with all my amazing vendors including Pastor Sweet. Pastor Sweet was truly an added blessing to an already perfect day. I can’t thank him enough for taking the time to officiate our heavenly ceremony.

A Beautiful Ceremony When It Mattered Most
We are so grateful to Pastor David Sweet for officiating our wedding. Due to a sudden decline in my father-in-law’s health, we had to move our wedding up on very short notice. It was incredibly important to us that he be there to walk me down the aisle and witness his only son’s wedding.
I reached out to Pastor David just two weeks before our new date, and thankfully he was available and very reasonably priced despite the short timeline. He was compassionate, responsive, and accommodating throughout the process.
The ceremony itself was beautiful. We requested a non-religious, vaguely Christian approach, and Pastor David struck the perfect balance—focusing on love and commitment without being overly preachy. It felt personal, heartfelt, and exactly what we wanted.
We will always be thankful for the role Pastor David played in making this meaningful moment possible for our family. We highly recommend him to any couple looking for a thoughtful and flexible officiant.

Could not have scripted better
My husband and I had written our own vows but had not shared them with each other. Rev. Sweet had not seen either set of vows. I believe the Lord truly led all of us. The connections between our vows and the stories told by Rev. Sweet were amazing. I could not have scripted this ceremony any better. It was beautiful.

The Wedding of Our Dreams- Thanks to Pastor Sweet
We absolutely adored and loved having Pastor Sweet as our officiant. Our guests until this day talk about how beautiful our ceremony was. Pastor Sweet provided the ceremony to be so heartfelt, full of love, and was so smooth with all of his transitions timeline-wise. Pastor Sweet was very responsive and attentive to all of our details and questions we had leading up to the wedding day. My husband I are new to Austin so we did not have an established church, but it was important for us to have a pastor as our officiant. We wondered how it would be to have an officiant that we did not know well, but Pastor Sweet exceeded far out of our expectations. He guided us through every option for what we envisioned the ceremony to be like, including the readings that he would prepare. We had pre-marital counseling with him too and he was such good guidance to help us start out our wedding life together. Amazing Officiant!
I found Pastor David after a last minute cancellation from our initial officiant. I messaged him one evening and he quickly responded the following day. David was very thorough in making sure he would be able to provide the type of ceremony we envisioned. We were happy that he incorporated Bible scripture and Christian values to reflect our own beliefs. The ceremony was beautiful! Pastor David made finding an officiant a breeze!
We couldn’t be happier with Pastor David as our wedding officiant! From start to finish, he made the entire process smooth and stress-free. He offers three beautiful ceremony styles, which gave us plenty of options to choose from, and he was always open to our ideas and requests.
What really stood out was how attentive and considerate he was. He took the time to listen to what we did and didn’t want for our ceremony, and made sure everything reflected our personalities and values. His professionalism was evident in every interaction, and his warm, calming presence on the day of the wedding helped make the ceremony feel even more special.

David was an amazing officiant for a wedding in Canyon Lake. He was professional, quick, and kind throughout the entire evening. Pastor David was AMAZING!
Pastor David, was amazing at our ceremony. When I initially inquired, he called me that same day to ask for details. Everything was smooth and easy. The day of the ceremony, he arrived on time, helped guide my husband and I on how it was going to go and had a beautiful message when he officiated us. We did a foot washing ceremony as well, and provided scripture for us that connected with what we were doing. We definitely recommend him to others!!

David was our officiant for our Spring wedding at the Arlo. After a few calls with him, he became a super easy vendor to work with as he provided quick responses to us and our wedding coordinators and took care of everything on the day of that we didn’t have to worry about a thing. Very happy and appreciative!
David was fantastic! He asked to meet with my wife and I prior to our ceremony to understand our needs and to get to know us a bit. My wife was hesitant to include too much scripture and recitation as she wanted a quick, private ceremony. David sent to us a couple of videos and sample ceremonies, which we watched and read. I made a few changes to the readings and the actual vows, but all was good with David. I even added a couple of songs to the ceremony. However, where David really shined was when our planned outdoor ceremony was scrubbed due to rain. My wife and I were able to get the hotel where we were planning to stay afterwards to step up and help us secure a room to host the ceremony. Mind you, it was just David, ourselves and a photographer - we didn't need much! David agreed to drive into Austin close to rush hour to officiate without a grumble but with a smile on his face! His humor was perfect, his style just what we wanted and - we have to thank his wife for letting him out late on a Tuesday evening! Thanks, David, for a memorable time, and you are highly recommended.

David was amazing from the very beginning. From our first initial outreach to our ceremony. David replied to our inquiry within 24 hours and helped walk me through the process beginning to end! He was very flexible with the modifications to the ceremony we were looking for and was easy to work with on the day of our wedding. We had a last minute change to the ceremony and David was able to perform the ceremony without a hitch! I'd recommend David to anyone looking to get married and who are looking for an amazing, professional officiant with lots of experience!

Pastor David was very easy to get along with and we were very pleased with our ceremony. We recommend him to anyone! My family is Baptist and my husbands is Catholic. We asked for a simple/“ basic” religious ceremony that didn’t lean more towards the other religion but still incorporated Christianity as a whole. We think he did an outstanding job: we were all very pleased and impressed with Pastor David!
He also offered us 2 pre-marital counseling’s where we got to know him better and discuss any concerns my husband and I had before marriage.
Overall we had a fabulous experience!

Pastor David was more wonderful than we could ask for. Not only did he marry us once, he married us TWICE when we made the difficult decision to postpone. He understood how to keep the ceremony short and sweet in the Texas heat but also not speed through things. We had traditional vows but the ceremony still felt specific to us. He was willing to drive out to the hill country To officiate our NYE wedding, and also made sure we had an outline of his sermon In advance to be sure we were ok with the wording and content. It was important to us to have someone of faith perform the ceremony, and Pastor David definitely checks that box. It is evident in his character and demeanor, and in the beautiful words and blessing he gave us on our wedding day.
