  We had mini pies and a small cake for our reception. Jenny at Paradox Pastry is AMAZING!! The pies were delicious as well as the cake. All of our guests complimented on how delicious the pies and cake were! Jenny is so easy to work with and gets you excited for your reception cake or dessert! I highly recommend her for any type of event where you may need yummy pies, cakes, or other desserts!

  I can't say enough positive things about Jenny at Paradox Pastry! My sister used her in 2011 for her wedding cake and it was one of the most beautiful cakes I'd ever seen and it was also delicious! I knew when I got engaged I would definitely want my wedding cake from Paradox Pastry! Jenny has such a bubbly personality and she does AMAZING work! My cake was absolutely GORGEOUS! Jenny had so many great ideas and was just so fun to work with. My guest were raving about the look and taste of my cake! There wasn't a single piece that didn't get eaten. It was so pretty I almost didn't want to cut into it! I'm counting down the days to be able to eat my anniversary cake that she provided. Thanks again Jenny!!

  Jenny is AWESOME! She will make a cake however you want and she is willing to try anything new. She asked what kind of cake we would like and we said anything dark chocolate or tiramisu flavor. So we had a Tiramisu Cake...SOOOO GOOD!

  The most delicious desserts!

  My husband and I have loved exploring the local food scene while living in Charlottesville, so we were excited for Paradox Pastry to be a part of our big day (because it is one of our favorites!) We went into the bakery one day and were able to speak with the head baker and try different pastries that they make miniature for events. Everything we tried was SO yummy! We ended up ordering their Better than DMB brownies bites, chocolate chip cookies, and raspberry chocolate tarts. Paradox Pastry even went above and beyond, and we were able to order chocolate covered strawberries and crème brûlée for our wedding day even though they do not regularly make those desserts. We were very happy with Paradox Pastry and would highly recommend them!

We were not asking for anything complicated - a ten-inch cutting cake and cupcakes for our guests. Boy, did Paradox deliver! Seriously, the best cake we've ever had. Jenny was so nice and hosted us for a great consultation where we tasted a few of their signature flavors. They were able to do three cupcake flavors that all looked beautiful and tasted amazing! Our guests are still raving about them. Their pricing was also incredibly reasonable. We love Paradox!!

  Jenny made the most fabulous cake -- not only looks good but tastes good. With 2 parties in a row separated by hundreds of miles I needed someone I could TRUST to make a cake and deliver it when I wasn't going to be here the days before the party.
  
  Jenny is absolutely reliable and VERY creative. The cake was amazing!

  When I first started thinking about what I wanted for our New Years' Eve wedding cake, I knew right away that I wanted something both different and delicious. I could NOT have asked for more. The black fondant covered red velvet beauty that Jenny created for our wedding was absolutely stunning! I have received almost as many compliments in regards to that cake as I did for the whole wedding! It was truly a piece of art and exceeded my expectations visually. However, the best part was the taste. I have honestly never tasted a better cake in my life! Guests are still talking about the "amazing red cake" we had. Thank you so much, Jenny, for creating such a BEAUTIFUL cake for us!!

  Jenny is a joy to work with and many guests told us the cake was the most beautiful they'd ever seen: a naked cake with tiers decorated with fresh autumn flowers and lady apples. Raspberry filling with white chocolate buttercream - need I say more?

  jenny & the paradox pastry team created an incredible cake for our wedding day. from our first tasting with them, we were attracted by their professionalism, experience in the business, and creativity with flavors and aesthetic. jenny even asked to show me a photo of my wedding dress so the cake texture would align with the overall theme of the wedding! we asked the possibility of having a unique flavor combination that (red velvet with coconut cream cheese icing) to honor my husband's family, and they happily obliged! my husband still talks to this day, 18 months later, about how delicious the cake was. bravo, jenny!

  My cake was amazing - just how we imagined it. We wanted something very elegant yet reflective of our Mediterranean theme. And my husband wanted some height, and I do not like pillars or traditional ways of getting that height, but Jenny balanced it very well. Jenny really helped us carry out our vision!

  Absolutely delicious!

  We got married on June 25, 2022 and Paradox made our wedding cake as well as a bunch of mini desserts for a dessert bar. Not only was everything delicious, but they delivered everything and set up the dessert bar so gorgeously! Our photographer said it looked like something out of a movie! We had a small cake for cutting to go along with our dessert bar and our guests loved the cake so much it was gone in the blink of an eye (my husband and I barely got any!). We've decided we'll have to go back to Paradox the next time we're in Charlottesville and order the same type of cake so we can actually experience how good it is!

As soon as we met her we knew we found our baker :) After dealing with other large shops, it was so refreshing to work with Jenny, who keeps things personalized and aims to make sure you get the cake you're looking for. Our cake was gorgeous and delicious. We received many compliments from guests that don't normally eat cake. It's hard to wait a whole year to eat the cake topper... I tried convincing my husband that we should have a slice for our one month anniversary (Just so you know, the cake has always been my favorite part of the wedding, so I'm a little cake crazy). I would recommend Jenny to any bride. On top of the great work she does, she's also extremely affordable compared to a lot of the shops that I spoke with that said they couldn't do my design. I'm so glad we were able to work with her for our wedding :)

  The cake Jenny made for us was beautiful and she did a great job putting loose flowers on the cake even though we didn't think she would do that for us. It was a little different than I thought it would be - I thought she would do ridges around the butter cream layers, but she exceeded my expectations and did a ruffle type of design instead. I didn't even think to ask for that because I thought it would be too difficult, or mostly too expensive, so I was thrilled to see that she had taken my original vision even further.
  
  The cake itself was delicious (vanilla layers with butter cream icing), and my parents have loved eating all the leftovers they took home. She also made us a separate anniversary layer for us to freeze that was also delivered to the wedding - we can't wait to eat it and relive all our wedding memories! Thank you Jenny for making us a beautiful and delicious cake!

  Incredible!

  From the tasting to the day of product, Paradox was a dream and took a lot of care in their work. They into consideration everything we wanted in terms of flavor and look and it came out beautiful. Also their product is very very high quality!!

  My daughter's wedding cake was beautiful! We opted for the buttercream instead of the fondant so the frosting was tastier, but the finish was not perfectly smooth. It is a tradeoff and Jenny definitely advised us about the difference. I admit that I never tasted it, but many guests commented on how tasty it was too! Guinness Chocolate and Coconut! We always felt very confident that Jenny would create a work of art that was yummy too and she so delivered plus made the whole process enjoyable too!

  My daughter's wedding cake was beautiful! We opted for the buttercream instead of the fondant so the frosting was tastier, but the finish was not perfectly smooth. It is a tradeoff and Jenny definitely advised us about the difference. I admit that I never tasted it, but many guests commented on how tasty it was too! Guinness Chocolate and Coconut! We always felt very confident that Jenny would create a work of art that was yummy too and she so delivered plus made the whole process enjoyable too!

  Jenny Peterson did our wedding and groom's cake at our wedding a week and a half ago, and I can't recommend her enough. Not only is she much more reasonably priced than many other local cake folks, our cakes were the best I've ever had! We did red velvet with white chocolate butter cream for the main cake, and her signature Guinness stout cake for the groom's cake, and they were out of this world! On top of that, at the last minute, she offered to alter the cake design slightly to match incorporate a graphic from or invitations/programs, and did a phenomenal job. Our wedding cake was the best looking, best tasting wedding cake I've ever seen/eaten! Thanks Jenny! We'll definitely be calling for a fresh cake at our one year anniversary :)

  Jenny and her team made lovely French macarons for my Charlottesville wedding. She went above and beyond to try out a new recipe to create a pear flavor for us. The macarons were a huge hit, they tasted great and were absolutely gorgeous. Can't recommend Paradox enough!

  We met Jenny for our cake tasting and instantly fell in love with her friendly personality, talent, and passion for her cakes! Our family loved every cake we tasted, but we ended up choosing the Chocolate Guinness Stout Cake that was absolutely delicious. Jenny checked in before our wedding to solidify all of the final details. She created the cake exactly how I envisioned it! She was professional, timely, and so talented! We can’t wait to have the rest of our cake on our one year anniversary :)

  Best Pies Ever!!!

  The one review we’ve heard the most from all of our wedding guests were that they LOVED our mini pies! Jenny and her team went above and beyond to deliver an array of flavorful pies, and a beautiful scrumptious wedding cake as well! I would recommend her company to everyone I know!
