Couldn’t be more satisfied

STOP SEARCHING. Throw your notes away. Hire them now. Sue and Matt literally could not be more amazing. Sue is a super talented musician and DJ, and Matt is LITERALLY EVERYWHERE on your big day, but yet you don’t even see him. He has captured photos for me that I seriously don’t even know how he got them. BOTH of them are the type of people we need more of in this world. Honestly, they’re the best.

Perfect, Affordable, Quality and FUN!

Our experience with Artz Music and Photography could not have been more perfect! They were very affordable, and so great to work with. They were very experienced in working with small children. Love Love Love!

Can not even describe how happy we were with Sue and Matt! We did a simple elopement ceremony including ourselves, our children, and a few friends. I was so lost when trying to plan, given we are from Ohio and had never been to the Outer Banks. I found Artz music & photography after extensive online searching. I only needed basic services since it was just an elopement ceremony and Artz was the most reasonable in price. I contacted Sue and she helped me every step of the way! She kept in regular contact with me via email and text message. She made some great recommendations for local vendors and things to do. She was very flexible as to where to do the ceremony and what to do if the weather did not work out. We did the ceremony at 7pm. I had two one year olds and two 6 year olds, all of which were on the verge of melting down at any given moment. Sue and Matt managed to still get great photos of the kids and everything came out perfect! We will definitely be going back to Sue and Matt for our future family photos!

Absolutely wonderful!

Sue was so great to work with; not only did she do a wonderful job on performing the wedding ceremony her husband took amazing pictures. The price was lower than any other competitors but the value was outstanding! They were flexible on timing and gave great recommendations. If you want the best look no further!

The Best!!

Everything I was asking for and more! Fantastic photographs! Beautiful ceremony! Exceeded my expectations! From Sue's exceptional violinist to Matt's exceptional photography. All our photos were fabulous! The lighting, color and angles!! Sue was also our officiant and wonderfully orchestrated our ceremony. We will use them every year for family photos when we come back! We felt so very lucky to have found them on the wedding wire. All our family and friends love the photos, especially our treasured photos captured of our grandsons!!

Sue and Matt are simply AMAZING! We "shopped" around for someone for our vow renewal and came across Artz Music and Photography. We planned for a beach wedding but unfortunately we got rained out. Sue and Matt was very professional at accommodating us and still made our day feel very special! Also, Sue's violin skill are top notch! She rocked it.

I can’t even begin to explain my satisfaction. From the moment I made contact through Wedding Wire I had excellence! Living out of state, planning an OBX wedding is difficult because I couldn’t be out there to visit vendors, etc. Sue helped me with suggestions throughout 6 months of planning! My wedding was beautiful, even on a not so beautiful day! Matt was beyond knowledgeable in taking amazing pictures on a drizzly day! Sue’s officiant services made our service beautiful! I can’t say enough! I highly recommend them for a one stop team!!!! Amazing!!!! Not only did I make great memories with a wedding and vacation, but I made friends!

Matt and Sue were so great and easy to work with! They were both so chill and guided us through everything that needed done. Matt got all the shots we wanted and the photos turned out amazing! Sue's music during the ceremony was beautiful and DJing during the reception was perfect. She provided a timeline beforehand which took a lot of stress off me trying to figure all that out. Dealing with one person for three different services (photography, ceremony music and DJ) was also extremely convenient. We loved them and will definitely be calling them for family photos in years to come!

Sue and Matt we AMAZING! I was engaged for over a year and Sue helped me with everything and anything I needed from her. My husband and I live in Michigan, so a destination wedding we had. Things went smoothly and Sue reassured me things were going to be great! I could write a novel about the great service Matt and Sue gave us, but you will need to book them to find out for yourself! Wonderful couple and new friends!♡♡♡ The music, entertainment, and photos were on point. My mother in-law cried when she viewed the pictures. Needless to say, everytime i look at my album, its like my wedding all over again! And to top it off, it down poured on my wedding, Matt and Sue came back two days later to shoot a beach session with my husband and I!!! Happy Bride, Happy Life♡

Sue did the ceremony music on violin for our wedding and she was fabulous. Such a perfect musical piece for our outdoor soundside wedding. She is a fantastic violinist and was very accommodating and easy to work with during the planning process. Highly recommend her violin services!

Sue and Matt were so amazing to work with. OBX was a destination wedding for us, so from the very beginning they were as helpful as could be. They invited us to their home to discuss exactly what we wanted, and from there we were able to communicate via e-mail and text. When the big day finally arrived, they were prompt and professional - and were everything photographers should be! Sue was a wonderful officiant, and could go with the flow when we were nervous and didn't know what we were doing since we did not have a rehearsal. They were so helpful with our planning process - giving us recommendations for everything! They were budget friendly. Now we have someone we can call every time we visit the OBX and need pictures taken! We could not have asked for a better turn out of our wedding pictures!

Sue & Matt Artz made our day so special! It's like we had been old friends for years! They were so great with communication and answered every question we had along the way. Sue and Matt did an amazing job for my daughter's wedding on 5/12/16. Sue responded to all email correspondence rapidly and was extremely helpful in planning the music for both the ceremony and the reception. Sue's violin music for the ceremony was beautiful, and the fact that she can play a wide variety of songs allowed my daughter to choose songs that were special to her. At the reception, Sue and Matt kept everyone dancing from the first dance to the last, with music inviting for all ages. As was to be expected, there were some changes that needed to be made to the timeline during the reception, and Sue was very flexible and made everything flow smoothly. It was a huge benefit that Sue and Matt could take care of everything related to the music for the wedding. They are pro's and we could just relax and enjoy it!

Matt and Sue are masters of their craft!! I could not imagine booking a better photographer, violinist, and DJ. Full package wrapped up in one couple, who did an absolutely amazing job. By far the best value, talent you will find in the market, I promise. They were in constant communication with us well prior to the wedding date. Eased our anxiety with the weather, our food vendor selection, and the mass number of people we invited. I don't always write reviews, but when I do, I do it for Matt and Sue!! Sue and Matt could not have helped us any more than they did to create and pull off the most perfect wedding day. When we reached out to them we were overwhelmed with all the decisions we had to make from several states away. Sue jumped right in with recommendations, guidance, and reassurances. It was wonderful having 4 vendors in one package. And her catering recommendation (Argyle's) was absolutely amazing! Both Sue and Matt kept everything on track the day of the wedding so all we had to worry about was getting dressed and walking down the aisle. From our first phone call, through emails, our pre-wedding sit down, all the way to the end of our wonderful day we could not have asked for anything more.

From the moment I heard Sue's violin music coming from the beach I was emotional. The beauty of the moment could not have been more perfect. Sue kept our wishes and our requests in mind throughout everything, even consulting with us when there was an unusual request from a guest, she just was making sure that everything was exactly what we wanted, I felt like she was my guardian angel helping keep everything the way I had envisioned. And wow did she keep the reception hopping, everyone loved the music, I don't think there was a moment when there weren't people dancing and just having an awesome time. She didn't even shy away from a rather crazy request from me for my Father/Daughter dance.

And the pictures, all I can say is Wow! Matt captured everything, from my Dad's face when he saw me in my dress for the first time, the moments I couldn't see because I was getting ready, all the way to our rooftop sunset pictures right before the reception was over. We told Matt we wanted candid shots mostly, we wanted to capture the day in beautiful moments with our family and friends, and that is exactly what he did. If you want everything to run smoothly and be captured beautifully, then Sue & Matt are who you need for your special day!

Words cannot express how happy I am that we chose to go with Matt and Sue for our wedding. They were fantastic from day one. I had called around, and was just unsettled with my decision until I spoke with Sue. I expected a quick phone call, but instead I ended up talking with her for 45 minutes. She was incredibly helpful, and made me feel at rest about all of the decisions we had made that far in the planning process. I had decided that they were the best fit for us before I had even hung up the phone. From that point on, Sue was my go to for any questions or concerns that I had about the wedding. They helped us with decisions unrelated to the photography or music that allowed us to stay within our budget. When we made a planning trip down to Corolla, they set aside time within our short visit to meet with us. We left there feeling very confident with our choice. Reflecting back on how well the whole process went, I feel it is so important to emphasis how supportive they were of our budget and our ideas that may have been unique or questionable. They listened to our ideas and made us feel as if we were the best wedding planners they had ever seen. This was especially reassuring since we did not hire a wedding planner. Now onto the actual wedding day - they showed up early and got started right away. A wave of anxiety had washed over me right before they walked in, so I rushed through talking to them and just told them to do what they thought was best. Everything was on time and so smooth. I could not imagine the ceremony or reception going any better. I left that day feeling so overwhelmed with gratitude for them. To top that off, they had our pictures to us wayyy before I expected based on the turnover rate of other photographers I had talked to. My husband :) and I set up the slideshow and were able to relive all the emotions we experienced that day. The pictures were beyond amazing. Our wedding was everything I ever hoped for.

Let me start by saying these two are AWESOME - great value, great service, beautiful pictures, and excellent music. I booked Sue and Matt as quickly as possible for my Wedding because of online reviews and the awesome combo of having a DJ/Ceremony Music/Coordinator/Photographer all in one! Sue worked with me throughout the planning process - responding almost immediately to e-mails, texts, phone calls, etc. without any problem.. She even helped our Deacon with the ceremony because he is a family friend who had only done a few weddings. She coordinated with our catering service and of course with her Husband, Matt to ensure our day was worry-free. They arrived early both the venue to set up the DJ equipment and early to the chapel to help us get started. Our photos were returned in a timely manner and the pictures we captured (on an extremely windy day at the beach and with a very large group) were absolutely breathtaking!!!! He captured every person who attended our wedding - not an easy task with over 100 people. Sue's talent as a musician and DJ gave our ceremony and reception the exact feel that we were looking for. She learned a special song that I requested to walk down the aisle to and she even plugged in her violin to play Devil Went down to Georgia during the reception (by my request!)! She is excellent at reading the crowd, getting people to dance, but realizing when they need a quick break. If you are looking for an awesome value in the expensive OBX wedding market and a worry-free day (especially if you're not hiring a coordinator/planner) these two are the absolute BEST! :)

Sue and Matt are AMAZING!!! Sue played the violin BEAUTIFULLY for my ceremony. She played traditional songs and the star wars theme for the boys to walk into (which was a huge hit!!! She had a huge variety of songs to pick from and is more than willing to learn new ones. She was also the DJ for my wedding and did an AMAZING job! We told her what kind of music we liked and she completely got what we were looking for and exceeded our expectations! She even added WOW factor to the wedding when she plugged in her violin and played along to some songs toward the end of the night! It was AWESOME!!! Sue even made up a Wedding Timeline and gave me tons of advice throughout the planning process!!! Matt did our photography and he was absolutely PERFECT!!! He captured the day perfectly! I am literally able to go through my photos and completely relive the day! He captured so many candid photos that my husband and I will cherish forever! The best part was we barely even noticed him taking so many pictures!!! Sue and Matt are a package deal for a GREAT price! It was like dealing with one person for three vendors which was awesome and we had a lot of things in common so that was just icing on the cake!!! I wish I could give them more than five stars!!! Matt and Sue are AMAZING!! If you are even considering a wedding in the OBX area you would not be sorry to use this amazing husband and wife team! From the first e-mail Sue was amazing! She is So responsive and always able to help. We exchanged cell phone numbers and she was always happy to return text very quickly. We had a wonderful sit down before hand and they were both very receptive to our music and photo suggestions.
The day of went off without a hitch and I know this is mostly due to Matt and Sue. They were able to accomodate photos when we had some elderly family members that were not able to go into the sand. Sue kept the party going and Matt fit into the crowd like he was a guest, not the photographer. I have often been to weddings where the photographer stands out like a sore thumb and the crowd tends to shy away from the photographer. This was not the case! Matt was able to get right in there and blend in with the guests. I havn't seen our reception photos yet, but I'm sure there are some GREAT ones. My teaser photos have left me very excited to see the rest!
Sue was just wonderful. I thought that a violin on the beach might not be heard over the waves and the wind, but I could hear her playing from the pier. It was beautiful!! I cannot say enough about how she kept the party going and kept the mood light during the reception. She even played by 4 year old flower girl's favorite song twice since she missed the first one for a picture. :) She plugged in the Violin again later in the evening and she brought the house down! My family and guests were amazed and impressed that "the DJ is doing that!" It was an awesome addition to the party!!

I seriously cannot say enough about Matt and Sue. They were so very very easy to work with and they are all around wonderful people. If I could give 10 stars I would!! I can't wait to return to Kitty Hawk for family photos in the future, I will be calling!!

Matt and Sue were great! I'm so glad that i chose them to be a part of my wedding. I wanted pictures that i could look back on and remember what a great day we had. The pictures that were taken the day of the wedding were beautiful and they got every shot that I asked for. They also provided music for the ceremony which was a very nice addition to our small beach wedding. I would definitely recommend Matt and Sue to my friends and family in the future.

Matt and Sue Artz were our favorite vendors for our wedding in Kill Devil Hill, NC in May of 2014. Sue Artz was amazing on violin and DJ. I walked down the aisle to Canon in D and it was amazing on the beach. She was helpful when it came to vendor selections for a florist, hair and makeup artist, and any questions I had during the preparation for the wedding. The music selection was huge and she was accommodating to our music preferences. Matt was fabulous as our photographer. We selected poses prior to the wedding and he helped us remember everything we wanted during the photo shoot. They were friendly and super easy to talk to but not over the top by any means. Sue would get back to emails in no time and helped us with a timeline for the wedding day. We met with them in September of 2013 and talked to them through emails about planning the wedding throughout the winter. My husband and I highly recommend choosing them as your photographer, violinist, and DJ. We were not disappointed at all and they are truly the best on the Outer Banks.

Planning a wedding from up in New York was very stressful! Sue Artz relieved a LOT of this stress!

We knew we wanted to work with Sue after the first email we exchanged. She immediately put our worries to rest with her easygoing attitude & knowledge about OBX weddings. She welcomed any questions we had during the months leading up to the wedding. Communication was fantastic! Any emails or texts were answered...and quickly. She even recommended the caterer we ended up using (Argyle's) & they were awesome!! She constructed a timeline for our entire wedding that was SO helpful during the planning process & day of. She provided us with music lists to pick songs we liked right away. She also was very accommodating in adding songs that she didn't have that we wanted. Sue is a very talented violinist & played during the ceremony. She didn't even bat an eye when we requested Billy Idol's "White Wedding" for the processional :) I highly recommend having her play along with "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" during the reception; she kills it!

And then there's photographer Matt Artz. Matt, much like his wife, is such a nice, easygoing person. He's kind of like a ninja...always there but you don't see him. We really enjoyed that! I've been to weddings where the photographer hijacks the families for hours of pictures & is always in your face. There is none of that with Matt! He moves the staged pictures right along so you can get back to enjoying your big day. He shot any poses we wanted & had a lot of great ideas of his own! For the rest of the reception we didn't even notice him so we were free to just be ourselves and not always feel "on". Having only been married a couple weeks now, our pictures are obviously not ready yet. We have, however, received some teaser photos that we LOVE!

Overall, the team of Matt & Sue Artz can't be beat! They know their stuff AND you won't find anyone more reasonable in OBX. It's a win win scenario!

Sue and Matt were recommended to me by our reception venue, the Hilton Garden Inn, and I read reviews online at WeddingWire.com. Obviously the reviews were awesome, but we basically booked them due to the emails I had back and forth with Sue during the planning phases. She was SO sweet and I just got the best feeling from her...boy was my gut right! Sue was so easy to work with from start to finish, and was able to ease my mind when I had a bridal freak out moment a week before the wedding over the weather forecast. We wanted one thing out of our wedding, and that was for people to have FUN - and they did. Sue had everyone on the dance floor nearly the entire night - it was awesome! What was even cooler was that she would chime in on violin during some of the songs (Devil Went Down to Georgia was a high point, of course!) - everyone loved it! Her playing during the ceremony was absolutely beautiful, and totally fit the setting and how I pictured it. As for Matt... he was AWESOME to work with. He had some great suggestions as to what poses we could do, and said yes to taking any pictures that we had thoughts on. Not to mention that he worked FAST, which is great because I felt like we got in even more pictures than I ever thought we would. We absolutely cannot wait to see the final product! Sue and Matt were great! We met with them on our initial trip to the outer banks and we immediately got along well. Sue provided great advice as far as planning and other vendors. Her violin for the ceremony was perfect. Matt took a ton of pictures! He was not pushy taking pics and he was always around the action. It was great having access to the hundreds and hundreds of pictures to do whatever we wanted with them. The value of this "package deal" could not be touched by other vendors, they are an awesome team. Most importantly thought was their personalities. It was like having our friends DJ and take pictures. You cant put a price on that!

Sue is the best! My husband and I renewed our vows after 20 years of marriage, and Sue Artz was instrumental in helping me pull the whole thing together. She helped me build the timeline and plan for what was to happen when; any time I had questions she always had answers. And she plays beautifully! Her DJ skills are unparalleled. We used Sue to play violin at our ceremony and DJ our reception. Matt was our photographer. I love that their services come as a packaged deal. Matt and Sue are down to earth and super easy to work with. Their knowledge and expertise helped to make our wedding a breeze. Sue's violin playing at our ceremony and once during our reception was awesome. She was great as a DJ and asked for my approval of guest song requests. Matt is super easy going, takes whatever pictures you would like, and has a great eye for pictures that would look awesome. We recently got a preview of some wedding pictures and they look great!

Sue and Matt were simply amazing! We were planning a destination wedding from Indiana and Sue was amazing with helping me plan my music for the ceremony/reception. She was prompt with her emails, and was very helpful if I had any questions. Sue and Matt showed up the day of and got everything ready and set up in a timely fashion, and even helped us with a few things when we were dealing with the rainy forecast. Even though the evening ended up being clear, it was nice to have someone that knew the venue and could help us out. Sue and Matt Artz were one of the best parts of our wedding. From day one of finding them on-line, Sue made us feel totally comfortable and at ease in hiring them. They really helped make the planning process that much less stressful and it was so wonderful to have all of the services in one. They were very organized with their contract and timing and payment plan very fair. The music was perfect both the violin music for the ceremony and the DJing and the entire 80 people were on their feet the whole night. Sue also learned a Catholic hymn to play just for our wedding since it was an inter-religious ceremony. The pictures arrived about 7 weeks after the wedding (1 week before stated in the contract) and in the meantime she kept sending us "teasers" which were pictures preparing us for what was to come. Out of the 800 pictures, at least 3/4 of them were awesome which was more than expected since we both hate being in front of the camera. Overall, I would strongly recommend Artz Music and Photography and there is no doubt that when we come back for our anniversary photos and party, Sue and Matt will be the ones we call! Thanks so much to Artz Music and Photography for everything, the experience would never have been as great as it was without you!

We used Artz Music & Photography for our ceremony music & DJ for our reception! Sue & Matt were amazing to work with. I mostly emailed back and forth with Sue and she was GREAT. She was super responsive, offered lots of tips and advice. She helped me set up a timeline as I had no idea how to do a wedding timeline. Planning our wedding from far away was hard enough, but working with Sue made it easier and calmed my nerves. Her and Matt were great on our big day. Their prices are extremely reasonable for a bride on a budget, as well.

Sue and Matt are an amazing professional couple. I felt very close to Sue, she was always there to reply to any type of questions and give me advices for my wedding. The music at the ceremony was unforgettable and the party was fun!

Everyone that has seen them has said they just don't know how I am going to pick the ones I like most becuase they are all fantastic! My photos were the most important thing to me. Planning a wedding is stressful to begin with but planning a destination wedding adds so much more difficulties. Working with Sue and Matt Artz made the planning process so much easier. Their ease of access and communication was execptional. My husband and I never had to worry about what we needed and a time frame because Sue stayed on top of things and if we had questions she was able to provide the best service in a quick time frame. The DJ was able to get the reception going and kept the party going ALL night long. The Photography is beautiful and each part of the day was capture with beauty! We received our photos in a timely fashion and when a disc didn't work they were able to correct the problem and send us new discs in no time. Thank you again

Sue and Matt Artz handled the wedding music, reception DJ, and photography. They arranged for us to have a videographer as well. I loved working with them. They are professional and talented, but easy to work with - they're "regular people" who are easy to work with and feel like friends right off the bat. The quality of their work is wonderful. Sue played the violin for the ceremony and it was beautiful.
Matt's photographs are amazing, I like his style. They're affordable too!!

One thing any bride will tell you is that she always wants to feel special and be number one in the whole wedding planning process. Sue did a great job in making me feel very special from our very fisrt phone conversation. Sue and Matt with Artz Music & Photography were by far the best value and best quality wedding vendor that we booked. As a bride planning from another state, I so appreciated Sue's vendor suggestions, timeline sample, and relevant questions for us to consider during the planning stages. She gave me her cell phone number and told me to text her with any questions, and I sure did. She always answered right away and put every single concern I had to rest throughout the process. Sue also played the violin at our Catholic ceremony and during our cocktail hour. My father, a liturgical pianist whose dream was always to play at my wedding, was extremely impressed at Sue's talent during the ceremony and cocktail hour. He played the piano during the remainder of the ceremony, and was so happy that Sue was flexible in working with us to make that go smoothly. Sue also DJed the reception, and played almost every song on our very long "must play" list, ensured the timeline we wanted went off flawlessly by working with the catering manager, and helped collect guests for the sparkler send off. Matt was our photographer, and from the teasers we've seen, he did a fantastic job with our wedding. I can also speak to the quality of the photos he took for our engagement session and for a family portrait session we scheduled in between the engagement and our wedding. Matt is an unobtrusive and incredibly fast photographer. Our pictures on the wedding day were done way ahead of schedule, and he even encouraged the wedding party to brave the drizzle and wind and get to the beach for some awesome shots with 10 foot pre-Hurricane Sandy waves. Sue and Matt Artz are by far the best value vendors on the OBX, and my new husband and I are planning to maintain a lifelong relationship with them, especially during our annual beach vacations on the OBX. They became family in our 9 months of planning. Thank you Sue and Matt!

Sue was amazing!! She played the violin beautifully during our ceremony. She was also our DJ and, months after our wedding we are still hearing how great she was. When I first meet Sue I knew our experience was going to be amazing. She is so reassuring and does a play by play of everything. It was amazing, I was not worried about a thing! Matt and I meet shortly after and they both made me feel super comfortable and layed back. I wish I could put into words how amazing all the services were, but I could never. Absolutely wonderful experience from the start .. We were a destination wedding and Sue & Matt helped from the start..Very personable & professional! Sue is so talented & the music was just beautiful, exactly what we had wanted..Our beach ceremony was rained out but they worked with us; so flexible, caring, and considerate. They graciously accommodated us a few days later with a gorgeous beach photo shoot. We are thrilled with the photos and words are really not enough to describe how pleased we are .. We really enjoyed having Artz Music to do our ceremony music as well as reception music. The violin music was beautiful at the ceremony and really made it feel special. I was extremely happy with how well Sue announced the bridal party into the reception as well as announcing different things such as anniversaries. The playlist was right-on with what we wanted. We would recommend Artz Music & Photography to everyone getting married on or near the Outer Banks!! They did a fantastic job.

Sue is amazing! Our ceremony music was beautiful, and the reception was great. Sue sent us a timeline to help keep us on schedule, and a list of popular songs. She had all of the songs we requested on our timeline. Plus, towards the end of the night, she played "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" on her violin, and she absolutely rocked!! I'm so glad we found her for our wedding. She helped make our big day even more special!!

Sue and Matt were great!! They kept the party going all night!! My husband and I got high praises all night on on how well Sue played the violin during the wedding (through the sprinkles on the beach) and how the music "ROCKED"!!! Best Reception Ever!!!!!

I had my heart set on a beach wedding at the outer banks since i was a little girl, after many changes and stressing out if i was going to be able to find the perfect vendors to make sure that our wedding day was a memorable event. We found Sue and Matt and took advantage of the package deal with Matts photography skills and Sues skills to get everyone pumped up, and relieving my stress level. It was very smooth working with both of them, they captured every moment and Sue was great at keeping the guest involved and engaged. Every time we are out with friends and family, our wedding is one of the main topics - we receive many compliment about our wedding everyday just about! The day was flawless and we couldnt have done it with out the help from both Matt and Sue - their expertise is exceptional and I would recommend them to anyone who was looking for a photographer and DJ for their special day or event.

If I had to pick one favorite vendor from my wedding, hands down, it would be Sue Artz! From the very start she was always very prompt in replying to my emails. She was very easy to work with, always making suggestions instead of giving orders. She put up with my flaky, indecisive self. When needed, she casually and politely prodded me to get things done on time.

She worked extremely well with my ceremony/reception venue, which was a huge relief to me because we live 200 miles away from the venue. She did a wonderful job finalizing the day-of timeline and hit the ground with both feet running as soon as she arrived the day of. When you meet her in person, you feel like she is instantly one of your best gal pals. She has such a friendly and warm personality that made it wonderful to work with her! I had some unique family dynamics to work with and she was very courteous in dealing with my Mother-of-the-Bride-zilla! When a very small "issue" came up, she came straight to me and asked how I would like to handle it and she went above and beyond to solve it!!!

When it came to music, we had a totally non traditional song set for our ceremony! Again she was extremely helpful in making the choices and setting up the play list. During the reception she had us dancing until the very end! Everyone had such a wonderful time and commented on how much they loved Sue as well!

We HIGHLY recommend Sue for all your OBX wedding music needs! We also just as highly recommend her husband Matt Artz for any photography needs you may have!

They are simply the best! They are a great value, a great team, have great energy, and made our wedding a memorable one. We really enjoyed working with them from day one. They were so helpful while we planned our destination wedding.
We also had beach family photos done the next day. We'll do that again every year with them. they were amazing!

Love, love love Sue & Matt! They were completely on the same page with us the entire process. Sue helped us find a caterer and florist as well. She even helped us find a NEW florist when our first one backed out. Everyone loved the violin music during our ceremony, and she played everything perfectly. We also loved when she played "the Devil Went Down to Georgia" during our reception. As for the DJ duties...I think she played every single song I requested beforehand and did NOT play anything on our banned list! Matt was a great photographer...laid back and easy to work with. Whatever we wanted, he would accomodate. They were great about keeping us on time and making sure we were where we needed to be. If I had to do it all over again, I'd chose them in a heartbeat!

My husband and I could not have been happier with the services that Matt and Sue Artz provided for us. Sue was extremely helpful to me while I was planning our wedding. She always got back to me in a timely manner and always had an answer to my questions. I even asked her opinion on catering and make-up applications and used the people she recommended. I was more than pleased with their price quote at the beginning also. It was nice having three vendors all in one. Sue played the violin for the ceremony and deejayed for the reception. She is amazing! She plays an AWESOME "The Devil Went Down To Georgia." And Matt is so funny and personable. His photographs are the best! I can't say enough about them. They helped to make our wedding day exactly as we wanted. I would recommend them to anyone! Thanks Matt and Sue!

Matt and Sue Artz are fantastic! They are very professional and very personable. They had shown flexibility when the weather didn't cooperate, and during the reception when the caterer needed a change in the schedule. The pictures are gorgeous, and we have received many compliments. Sue was very helpful to me when I had a payment issue, and she was very quick to respond and help me in resolving that issue. Sue was great with the DJ music! She is a master. I had only a handful of people left in their seats. Everyone was out on the dance floor. She is very good at feeling out the crowd and just going with the vibe. I would recommend Matt and Sue very highly to anyone who needs their services from the DJ, ceremony music(which was beautiful), and the photography. They are great people, and are great at what they do!

It was a joy working with Sue and Matt. They were promptly on time and were willing to help organize and suggest a time frame for our wedding day. They were very professional and made us feel special. Matt took beautiful pictures and I loved how he gave us a variety of pics to choose from. Sue played the violin beautifully and made our beach wedding extra elegant and special. We also had them DJ the reception which the guests had a blast. They played an assortment of music in which are guests enjoyed all evening. We would definitely have Sue and Matt Artz assist us with any entertaining function in the future.

From day 1, Sue was helpful beyond all belief. She sent us a timeline for the day to give us some direction, including a full timeline for the reception. We got married in record setting rainfall in Nags Head. The pictures Matt took were outstanding, even with the crazy weather. He gathered everyone together for the few minutes of non-rain to get a few pictures on the beach. Sue incorporated all of my must-play list and added some great dance songs. The dancing at the reception was definitely the highlight of the party. Everyone was chanting 'one more song' at the end of the night. And she played two! Matt and Sue are great to work with, have great prices and are very fun to work with! I highly recommend them!

I'm still recovering from the whirlwind of getting married..Hurricane Irene ruined our plans to get married at The Love Boat on Hatteras Island on 9/10/11... but we changed our wedding location last minute to Corolla... and we had an incredible wedding day.

Sue was awesome to work with.. She was our first vendor to be completely straight forward with us about moving our wedding location after Hurricane Irene hit. Sue told us to seriously consider changing the location or rescheduling our wedding ASAP. We planned for a year and a half to get married on 9-10-11.. So changing the wedding date wasn't an option!!! With that advice, we moved quickly to find a new event home and changed locations with less than two weeks to go!!

What an incredibly talented woman!!!! Sue played the violin for our ceremony and then DJ-ed the reception. She was in constant communication with me throughout the night and the planning process. She even encouraged me to move my cake cutting location in order to keep everyone dancing... and keep everyone dancing she did!!! **You have to ask her to play her version of "The Devil Went Down to Georgia** She brought down the house!!! In fact, no one wanted to stop dancing... so last minute we asked her to stay an extra hour.. and she agreed!

Throughout the entire planning process Sue was quick to respond and offered great suggestions. I would highly recommend her services!

Sue Artz was great to work with and very flexible too. Hurricane Irene ruined our plans to get married on Hatteras a week before our wedding date. We scrambled to move the ceremony to the beach in Nags Head and Sue was more than willing to accomodate. Her music set was also outstanding and she sounded amazing. Her pricing was very reasonable for the service she provided. She kept in constant contact with us during all of the planning and also sent us numerous updates about the hurricane and the damage it had produced. Sue is definitely an asset if you are planning a wedding in the OBX.

I just wanted to take a moment to toss some MAJOR kudos to Sue and Matt Artz of Artz Music and Photography. Together they provided us with ceremony music and a DJ for the evening. Let me say, these folks are PHENOMENAL!! Our reception was a Halloween party, so they had a pretty significant challenge providing music that fit the theme. We submitted a preliminary playlist of Halloween music and, being huge Halloween people themselves, added their own flavor to it, creating the perfect, mood-fitting music. The ceremony music, with Sue on violin, was absolutely perfect - not an easy task since I asked Sue to learn TWO new pieces for the ceremony. She was more than happy to do it and, with its flawless execution, definitely created a ceremony that was perfectly tailored to us. As an added bonus, they were absolutely delightful to work with!! I had so much fun corresponding with Sue over the year leading up to the wedding...she was SO nice and accommodating. The two of them were so awesome to work with. If you want a musical dynamic duo that is awesome to work with and will bend over backwards to create an experience unique to you, hire Sue and Matt!!!!

There are no words to describe how Matt and Sue Artz made our day fabulous. They were so flexible with our schedules since we lived in another state. Matt did not miss one moment with his camera, the candids, family photos, and trashing my dress was amazing. Sue you play the violin like an angel and there was not a moment that the dance floor was empty.Not only are you guys professional, but we feel like we have new friends in obx and every year we visit, our family portraits will only be done by you.Thank you again for all your hardwork!

I can not say enough about the duo of Matt and Sue Artz!! They are fantastic!! Having a destination wedding on a budget is NOT an easy thing to do! We initially chose Matt and Sue because of the price of their photo/music packages. And we couldn't be happier! Sue really helped along the way with so many things! She helped us pick the best possible ceremony time based on the tide and sunset and her time table for the reception really helped with the planning with the caterers as well. Not to mention that she was great at helping to decrease the stress level on any given day!! She always responded to my emails very quickly, even if they were about silly little things that only the bride worries about! =) The week of the wedding, we met Matt and Sue in person for the first time since we had initially met them at the Outer Banks Wedding Expo, and they were fabulous. They took all of our suggestions/requests and made suggestions to help make the day run smoother. The day of the wedding, I was an absolute wreck as Tropical Storm Arlene had decided to visit Hatteras Island. Sue kept in constant contact with me all day assuring me that everything would work out. The ceremony music was beautiful, and I was REALLY happy when my not so common requests got the OK from Sue. And she kept the party going at the reception! Matt took several hundred photots and I actually just received them this week and they are beautiful! I just keep looking at them over and over again! He captured so many of the "little" moments throughout our day and I will cherish the photots! I would recommend Matt and Sue Artz to anyone planning a wedding in the Outer Banks!!!

The photos are AMAZING. The violin ceremony music was perfect!! Our families enjoyed the reception DJ. You guys were wonderful and I thank you so much for capturing our special moments. Sue and Matt provided the ceremony music, DJ and photography for our wedding a few weeks ago in Buxton, NC. They were WONDERFUL and so easy to work with. They were our favorite vendors to work with as they were so organized, would always respond quickly to any questions we had, and you could tell they both really love what they do and really cared about our wedding. Sue is a wonderful musician and DJ-everyone said how great the music was and everyone had a great time dancing! Matt was a great photographer and got amazing shots of everything! We have gotten so many compliments on our beautiful wedding photos. The wedding album he made is really gorgeous. I highly recommend Sue and Matt for all of the services they provide. It was also a big plus that they provided the package with all 3 services, it made planning the wedding less stressful! They really played a huge part in making our wedding such a special day :)

The Artz family is so easy going it makes any brides day go smoother and stress free. They even found alternate location for taking pictures when a unexpected even occurred in the original spot. Not only was the location beautiful it truly fit my personality perfectly. Also when u are a bride having a destination wedding make checklists for a checklists.
