We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day for our wedding, and we have the amazing people at Ostertag to thank for that. Donna Easterday worked meticulously with my wife, going over logistics and payment planning. Whether it was email, text or phone call, she made sure she was available. Our Day-Of Coordinator, Kim Schwartz, was a ROCKSTAR! The venue was beautiful on its own but her little touches made all the difference. From setup to break down, everything was handled flawlessly. Thank you again for making our wedding day unforgettable!

We just had our wedding at Ostertag Vistas, and it was absolutely incredible. The location is absolutely stunning, exactly what we wanted. We hired Donna Easterday, whose family owns the venue, to be our day of coordinator. She was ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE. I’m so impressed by her professionalism and organizational skills… add this to the fact she has such a kind and helpful heart she made for the perfect person to support us during our day. Without her, our day wouldn’t have been the same. She made sure everything ran smoothly and it was the magical day we had dreamed of. She made sure all of the decorations were completed. She also made sure that during the wedding our guest book was signed, pictures were taken, favors were passed and so much more. There was so much more that Donna did to make our day flow smoothly and perfectly. We have absolutely no regrets in picking this location - it was everything we could have hoped for. It was affordable, beautiful, and we felt completely supported and cared for. Thank you, Donna, and family, for sharing your beautiful place with us and for an incredibly magical day - we are so incredibly thankful for ALL you did - we couldn’t have pulled off such a magical day without your help!

We held our daughter’s wedding reception here in early December. The setting is lovely and very scenic. The barn interior is a warm and unique gathering place and our guests really enjoyed themselves there. Donna was a pleasure to work with throughout the entire planning process - efficient, patient, and very professional.

Ostertag Vistas is absolutely incredible!! Donna was so welcoming and extremely helpful in helping us prepare for our special day. She showed us around their beautiful venue, made suggestions from their many years of having weddings at their location, and always responded quickly to any questions we had. Kim, our on site wedding coordinator, was an absolute delight to work with. She is awesome. She was everywhere and stepped in and helped out where she didn't need to. She definitely made things run so smoothly. Finally, we want to thank Mrs. Easterdays. I would have never thought an owner would actually come out and just make sure your day was so special. I learned after the reception that she doesn't miss a wedding at her venue. She was quietly everywhere. As we were looking at our photos, we noticed that Mrs. Easterdays peeping in during the ceremony. We were honored and thought it was so sweet she was there. We only wished we knew prior to our ceremony how much it means to her that her clients have an amazing time. If we had, we would have had her sit in on wedding ceremony.

Thank you so much Ostertag Vistas for allowing us to use your beautiful and historic property!!! It was an honor to get ready in your cottage and think of all the generations that had lived there.

I just wish we could give a higher rating!!! Do not go anywhere else other than Ostertag Vistas, especially for a wedding. THEY ARE TRULY INCREDIBLE!!

We had our wedding in October of this year. The venue is absolutely beautiful and there are so many options where you can hold the ceremony. We had about 70 guests. We had the ceremony on the patio and the reception in the barn. Donna and was the best to work with. She is knowledgeable, professional and efficient. I was so happy to have her throughout this process, she makes sure everything runs as smooth as possible. So happy to have created a memorable day at Ostertag Vistas.

Ostertag Vistas is a great place to have your wedding! The venue is breathtaking with multiple options for wedding sites and an inclement weather plan. It was so convenient to be able to have our ceremony outside on the beautiful patio and then stroll a few feet into the historic barn for our reception. Donna is patient and helpful with the planning process and was an awesome day of coordinator. My husband and I were beyond happy with our wedding day and would definitely use this venue again for future events! :)

I was over the moon with this venue! From day 1 to the day of wedding, everyone was beyond helpful. Any question I ever had throughout the planning process would get answered immediately! The venue itself it absolutely stunning, and would highly recommend this venue to everyone who is planning a wedding!

I (the bride) grew up going to this venue. It is a special and beautiful place. The grounds are absolutely beautiful with panoramic views of the farm. There are historic houses include a log cabin and stone house as well as a smoke house that you can see from the barn and use for photos or a ceremony location. The barn sides can be opened to see the grounds if you have good weather and makes for the perfect back drop for the most important night of your life with your spouse! One of the best things about this venue (besides its beauty and special place to me personally) is the ability for guests to spread out. There is space to socialize outside so you and your guests can visit with each other during the reception. Even better, you and your spouse have multiple opportunities for special moments for just the two of you. We went to the other side of the barn during cocktail hour for a quick few moments together and enjoyed eating our cake and taking breaks on the stairs off the back of the great room. These little moments are so important--our photographer even caught some of our moments while taking other pictures! It was truly a beautiful and perfect night. Donna and Wanda were accommodating and committed that our wedding was everything we had hoped for! Our wedding was everything we had hoped for and surpassed what we had expected to come together! You won't go wrong with this beautiful location, great owner, manager, and staff!

This venue was perfect for our wedding, it was beautiful and scenic. Donna was our Day of Coordinator and went up and beyond with her services. Since covid rules were lifted just a few weeks before our wedding, she was so accommodating with changing our plans. She helped our wedding day run very smoothly and also did an excellent job setting up the decorations we provided her. Also, since it was super hot, in the 90's the day of our wedding, she was sweet enough to let our dog, who was a part of our ceremony, be in the air conditioning in a room off to the side. I can't say enough how accommodating she was! I highly recommend Ostertag Vistas!

Ostertag Vistas was a stunningly beautiful venue which had all our guests in awe. The outdoor ceremony with rolling hills in every direction framed every shot. Then we had cocktails and hors d’oeuvres on the large patio followed by a full meal and dancing in the barn. The barn had sparkling lights everywhere!!! It was so beautiful!

We also used Donna and Kim at Ostertag as wedding planners and and they were fantastic!

Ostertag Vistas was the only venue my husband and I toured because as soon as we went on the tour, we just knew it was the one. It is an absolutely breathtaking venue and only hosts one event a day so you have the place all to yourself. The barn itself is so picturesque and beautifully decorated. The grounds are well kept and everyone who works at Ostertag are just wonderful.

Donna was our day of coordinator and she is an absolute rockstar. I had some last minute changes and lots of big requests and she helped me whenever and wherever needed. On the big day, she kept everyone on schedule and helped guests from the ceremony site, to happy hour, to dinner and then dancing. She was a pleasure to work with and our day would not have been as perfect as it was without her.

Our wedding was absolutely stunning. It was everything I had ever dreamed of. All of our guests loved the venue and kept saying how much fun they were having. Ostertag Vistas was simply stunning!

We had an amazing November wedding at Ostertag Vistas. We had visited several other venues prior to finding Ostertag. We were thrilled with the value, the views, and the barn atmosphere that Ostertag offered. And, important to us, we could choose our caterer. Donna was great to work with and was very flexible with and accommodating to our plans. We were able to choose our own ceremony site, to have a horse and carriage, and to have a live band in the barn! Ostertag, along with Donna, provided the perfect venue for the best day ever!

I grew up down the road from ostertage for 13 years. I love the place and the fact that my dream came true of getting married there was a dream come true. I loved the idea of getting married in the back field. And being the first at that. It was worth it. Donnna easterday is the best person so work with and I loved it. The views, decor, and above all the place is and will always be beatiful.

As soon as I visited Ostertag Vistas for the first time, I fell in love. Our ceremony was in the woods - like a fairytale dream I've had since I was a kid - and the reception was in their gorgeous rustic barn. The reception area barely needed any decorating since it is already so beautiful! Donna was wonderful to work with throughout the whole planning process as our wedding coordinator, and very accommodating to our wishes. Our wedding day went so smoothly, and she was a huge part of that. Thank you so much!

This place was amazing. We hired Donna as our coordinator and it couldn't have gone smoother. Everyone loved the decor and scenery, and she made sure that our needs were attended to and that we had a stress free day. I would absolutely get married here again, and would highly recommend Donna as the day of coordinator for those who do. After all the stress of planning it was so nice to just go and enjoy ourselves. Overall a perfect day/experience.

Ostertag was great! They are very organized and very responsive. And most reasonably priced barn venue in the area. They were wonderful the day of as well. The barn is stunning and is already decorated, so extra decorations are barely needed. They have a beautiful indoor option for the ceremony, if it rains, which we ended up using. Their day-of coordinator (Kim) was absolutely wonderful and helped my personal coordinator out so much as well. I would definitely recommend them to everyone that I know and can't wait to hopefully visit them again for another wedding in the future!

I HIGHLY recommend Ostertag Vistas. We were married in November, and I am STILL reeling. Donna was incredible - she was very professional, and always responsive to my (many) inquiries. At the wedding, everyone had an incredible time, and the venue is absolutely stunning. The guests were all in praise of every location, from the ceremony on the patio with an amazing backdrop, to the stable for cocktail hour (which provided much-welcome warmth and a cozy setting), to the INCREDIBLE reception in the main barn. I would do it all over again if I could and would not change a thing! It was a perfect day, and I am so glad we chose Ostertag for our venue.

I was just married here on 09/10/16 and it was a wonderful experience! My father, a very detailed man, was extremely satisfied with the coordination and thoughtfulness of the Ostertag team. Their recommendations for vendors were superb. We booked the horse carriage that they offer and the guests were amazed and the experience of riding down with my father was made more memorable. The barn is absolutely gorgeous at night with the lights glimmering. Donna and our coordinator Terri were amazing and made the entire evening run smoothly. I highly recommend this venue to anyone who wants a romantic and rustic wedding!

Ostertag Vistas was the perfect setting for my daughter's wedding. It was absolutely beautiful. We looked at MANY venues before settling on Ostertag and I don't regret it for a minute. Donna was extremely helpful with the many questions I had throughout the many months of planning!! She always got right back to me and was very reassuring. She took so much stress off of me as the mother of the bride. I would highly recommend paying the little extra for the "Day of Coordinator" as it is worth every cent. I would highly recommend Ostertag Vistas for not only the beauty of the venue, but for the professional and accommodating staff.

My husband and I could not be happier with our decision to get married at Ostertag Vistas. It is a beautiful location and has so many ceremony locations for you to choose from as well as plenty of space for all your guests. Donna and Wanda were helpful from the beginning, answering any questions I had because I booked the venue before I even saw it in person because I did not want to loose my date. Donna was always quick to respond to any emails I sent over the year that led up to our wedding. I also had help from Terri when I went to do my walk through the month before the wedding, she was very knowledgeable about how the day would flow and if I needed any help or suggestions to figure out how I wanted anything to be she had a few answers so that I could decide what would work best for what I wanted on our special day. Fonda was our day of coordinator, and she was also amazing! I hardly even knew she was there and then she would somehow magically appear if we needed something, it was like she just knew! We were unable to have the outdoor ceremony we had hoped for on the patio because it was rainy, cold and windy, but lucky for us Ostertag has a plan B in the beautiful stable which has pretty lighting and they were so nice to let me bring the outside in with all of my pumpkins, hay bales and cornstalks so that I could still have the decorations I wanted for the ceremony. We were also lucky enough that there was a pause in the rain after the ceremony and we were able to get gorgeous pictures around the property. The reception was also beautiful, the barn is decorated so nicely with all the twinkling lights. We loved getting married at Ostertag and had an absolutely amazing day!

Donna and Wanda could not have been more helpful from our first request for information on their venue, to the minute we said good night after the reception clean up. They are professional, yet you feel like you are working with a friend. They made wonderful suggestions, shared their expertise to guide us through the process and yet they were never pushy or overbearing. Leading up to the day of our event, they answered every email promptly and were anxious to accommodate our every wish. During our set up the day before our event, Donna was on the grounds, but left us alone to enjoy our decorating. She was doing some odd jobs herself and would pop in every so often to see if we needed anything. It made for a very relaxed atmosphere, yet we knew she would assist us if any problems would arrive- they didn't! On the day of our event, Donna was present again, and assisted with getting the guests from the patio and stable room downstairs where we had our cocktail hour, to the barn upstairs for the rest of the reception. The barn and surrounding grounds were immaculate, and every detail that we requested was carried out perfectly. The majority of the guests had never been to Ostertag Vista before and they couldn't stop talking about what a beautiful venue it was. The weather turned out to be clear but chilly, so Donna had the heat on when we arrived at 2pm (ceremony started at 4pm) and the fireplaces glowing. It made for a very cozy day and evening. I can't thank them enough for their hard work and gentle guidance that made my daughter's wedding ceremony and reception perfectly magical! I would highly recommend this venue to everyone that is looking for a rustic barn venue. You won't be disappointed!

Our wedding was on 6/14/14, i worked with Donna to help plan the event. She was excellent and very patient with me. I had alot of different ideas i wanted to do and she definatly rose to the occasion. she worked very closely with me and very promply responded to all of my questions and emails. Our wedding was originally going to be by the creek in fern valley but because it rained for a week straight prior we had to change our ceremony location. When we showed up for the rehersal she met us and had a few alternative locations in mind and escorted us to each one and discussed the pros and cons of each one. She was professional and very willing to do whatever i wanted. During the wedding she was around and working hard, and she was always easy to find if i needed her and really helped keep everything running smoothly. the Venue was georgous and the weather was perfect. I could not have asked or imagined a more beautiful wedding.

Last weekend, I had my wedding at Ostertag Vistas. I am so happy that I was lucky enough to find this gem in the backyard of Maryland. It is in a beautiful setting and I was so fortunate to be able to enjoy the landscape with great weather.

Donna, one of the owners set expectations right up front. The venue is not a coordinator and they require you to provide the caterer, DJ, etc. and make sure they are working together. She recommended using a caterer that has worked in the venue before and that is what we did. Everything went smoothly. Fonda was our coordinator and she was absolutely wonderful. The ceremony ended up starting late because of traffic issues and she was very accomodating. It turned out to be a bit buggy by the pond and last minute she put citronella torches up at the ceremony site.

My guests are still talking about how beautiful the grounds and barn is. Although the drive was a little long from Baltimore, when you arrive it feels like you stepped into another world and instantly you are relaxed. Thank you Donna and Fonda for making my day the best it could be! I can't wait to come back and visit.

I had the wedding of my dreams at Ostertag Vistas. The staff was very friendly and available pre-wedding when I had questions or concerns. One of the reasons I chose this venue is that I was able to shop around for vendors which helped me stick to my budget!! Ostertag Vistas is an amazingly beautiful, quiet, and private location - perfect for a wedding! The staff was very cordial and competent and there were options available for a ceremony location in the event of inclement weather which was very nice. There is no limit to where a ceremony can take place and Ostertag Vistas sets up and removes all chairs and tables and chairs for both the ceremony and reception. It could not have been more perfect of a venue for a wedding and everyone commented on they have never been to a more perfect wedding in their lives.... PERFECT!

We couldn't believe our eyes when we arrived at Ostertag Vistas! It was absolutely beautiful. From the time the parking attendant guided us to our parking spot through the time we left, we and other guests were in awe. It was heaven on earth! They even have a people mover which is used to transport guests to and from a ceremony which was nice in our situation since not everyone was as mobile as others. I understand that Ostertag Vistas meets with the bride about 30 days prior to each event which was helpful in our case since they really took pressure off of the bride to help organize her event. They set up all tables and chairs for the reception and even set up and remove chairs for the ceremony. It was just perfect through and through!

We wanted a barn for our wedding venue. We loved Ostertag. The owners were great and very accomodating. It ended up raining and they had a beautiful backup for having our ceremony outside. Donna would respond quickly to any and all emails i sent her. Overall great experience!

Wonderful. Start to end just wonderful. Ostertag was the first and only venue we looked at and we booked it during our initial tour. The location is beautiful, all our guests commented on how perfect it was, our photographer (who has photographed hundreds of weddings) was even in awe of the location. All of our pictures were perfect in large part because the farm is so beautiful. We loved that they only have one event a day so we had lots of flexibility about where we wanted to have our ceremony and reception. Donna was EXTREMELY helpful, she made sure we had all the information we needed during the pre-meeting, got back to us quickly whenever we asked questions and made sure our wedding day went off without a hitch. We absolutely loved the DJ she recommended (Shewsical Entertainment), her recommendation of how to secure the alcohol saved us a lot of money/confusion/wasted liquor, and all her advice regarding how the day might flow was spot on. We also REALLY appreciated that we could use any licensed cater we wanted—with other venues requiring you use their preferred (and very expensive) caterers, this saved us a lot of money and allowed us to have the kind of food and atmosphere we wanted.
Some of the other reviewers commented about the rules—there are rules, any venue of any quality is going to have rules, it ensures that their future events get to enjoy the same beautiful (undamaged) venue. The rules were reasonable (no open flames, etc) and consistent. We received a packet with all the information about the venue (including the rules) on our first visit and they stayed the same through our wedding day. We would highly recommend that anyone looking to have a beautiful country wedding contact Ostertag Vistas, you won’t be disappointed.

Beautiful venue! This was one of the last stops on our list of venues to look at. It was not even my favorite, initially. When the wedding day came, I was SO happy that we went with Ostertag. It was just gorgeous. The scenery, inside the barn, everything came together brilliantly. I could not imagine a different venue.

Donna and her family were kind, generous, supportive and extremely helpful. The meetings were beneficial and informative. They provide paperwork that helps throughout the process and even can provide some rentals. On site, they have several places that can serve as a ceremony location and have back up plans in case of bad weather. They can help you choose other vendors that have worked well with them in the past and provide exceptional service. I highly recommend this venue to any bride looking for a unique, rustic, vintage-y feeling!

I looked at a number of venues before choosing Ostertag and I couldn't have been happier. My guests really enjoyed the wedding, as they had never been to a wedding in a place as unique. It is more than 4 walls and a door - it's acres of land, streams, and historic houses that my guests had access to. It is almost like an open air reception site. The help there was incredible - my mom and the groomsmen kept them hopping - somebody had to keep the guys in line and focused, as I was to busy and my soon-to husband was spending his time hanging out with his buddies. My mom was a nervous wreak (even though I was the one standing up!) and the event coordinator calmed her and the owner kept making her laugh. The ceremony and dinner were on time as scheduled and I owe it all to the staff. We moved the ceremony site on the day of the event without a hitch. Two in our wedding party are considering this location for their wedding/reception.

This was the most perfect venue ever to have my wedding. The day was completely perfect. The staff at Ostertag Vistas was great, especially Donna Easterday. She was pleasant to work with, encouraging, positive, and always responded to emails/phone calls in a timely manor. The venue grounds are beautiful, and I could not have had it any other way!! I heard numerous reviews from my guests saying it was the most perfect wedding, and how much they loved Ostertag!

My experience with Ostertag was nothing but pleasant. First off, the area is absolutely beautiful!!! When first visiting the property, we met with Mr. Easterday, who was very professional, kind, and clearly loved his property and was eager to share it with us.

As the wedding day approached, I was mostly in contact with Donna, who was our coordinator. She was responsive and helpful with any questions I had. She let me know to make note of anything in particular I wanted and to bring it up at the 30-day-prior meeting, which I did. Donna was very kind, and helpful, especially the month leading up to the wedding. She was also able to offer suggestions when I was unsure of something regarding the set-up. As a side note, the Easterdays are upfront with you about their rules (and every venue is going to have rules) and about the no A/C in the barn (we knew about this before signing the contract of course, and even though our wedding was in the beginning of June it seems to be a bit cooler in that area of Maryland, which definitely helped), and I never had any problems with rules changing like a previous reviewer stated. The Easterdays were always flexible and accommodating during the planning process.

I got so many comments from guests about how beautiful the venue was and what a wonderful time they had! I never once had a complaint with the way the ceremony or reception was handled by the venue...things went very smoothly and everyone was very polite and helpful. Thank you so much for making Matt & I's day absolutely wonderful, we could not have found a more lovely and memorable place to have our wedding!!! :)

Donna and family ere very accomodating and professional in every aspect of the planning of our wedding. the fact that they are personable and willing to help in any way possible made the planning of our special day that much easier. I fully recommend that if you are seeking a secluded elegant, historical place to hold your wedding ceremony.... I would highly suggest you check out Ostertag Vistas. When we visited Ostertag Vistas for a tour we knew that it was the venue for us. The property and the barn provide a magical atmosphere that we couldn't find anywhere else. Donna and the other staff we're very professional and diligent in making our day unfold just the way we had imagined. As a bonus, they offer a horse and carriage option which we highly recommend. You will not be disappointed with Ostertag Vistas!

We found Ostertag Vistas to be very reasonable in comparison to other venues plus they provided all tables, chairs, the set up and removal, a parking attendant and consulting support! Our experience was absolutely amazing and they helped us throughout the planning process all the way through the rehearal and finally the event. I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful setting and wonderful people to work with.... It was just perfect and we can't wait to return for Museums by Candlelight in December.

My husband and I were married at Ostertag Vistas and it was absolutely perfect! The staff handled every detail for us and were wonderful to work with. We had a chic/rustic wedding starting with the ceremony next to the willow tree, then to the patio for a bar and refreshments and then to the reception in the barn. We loved every minute of it and our guests said it was the most breathtaking property for a wedding. They loved it so much that my sister will be married there next year!

I looked at a lot of outdoors venues during my wedding planning/search. What I found attractive about Ostertag Vista was the barn and outdoor landscape. My future and I quickly settled on Ostertag and couldn’t have been happier with our wedding and experience. The staff were extremely helpful prior to our wedding and very efficient on the day of the event. What we liked most about this venue is that we can bring whatever vendors we want - they don’t require you to use their caterer or D.J. Although this meant we had to coordinate with our vendors, it was more cost effective in the end. They also offered the most time for our event than any of the other venues we met with. Some of the venues informed us that they have two weddings per day and we would only have part of the day. All in all, the weather was great for the time of year. My guests were very happy with my venue selection and the accommodating nature of the venue staff – my future was busy with his buddies most of the time before the wedding and my mother was really nervous. Kudos to the staff for reducing our stress. I’ve recently found out that two of my guests are planning to get married there as well. In summary, I would definitely recommend Ostertag Vista have no regrets with our decision.

Absolutely breath-taking, perfect place for a wedding!

Ostertag vistas was reccomend to us by a couple that had previously gotten married there, when we went to visit we knew we didnt want to see any where else, it is truly breathtakingly picturesque from the historic barn to the cottages to fern woods we loved it all. The day of our wedding june 21st went so well, everything fell into place. Jennifer was our coordinator an she did an absolutely amazing job she was very professional and kept everything flowing so flawlessly. Family and friends commented on how perfect the venue was and how beautiful, everything about the venue, the music and the food described my husband and I to a T. We couldnt thank Donna enough for all her help an we would most definitely reccomend Ostertag vistas to anyone looking to get married. Beautiful venue.

This is a beautiful venue!! It was the only place that my husband and I looked at in person. The day of our wedding, the coordinator, Colleen, was absolutely amazing! They even included something off their inventory that had been taken away so that it would match our favors!! It was a wonderful day and I couldn't have imagined getting married anywhere else.

I fell in love with Ostertag when I attended a wedding there years ago and knew that was going to be where I got married! The land is incredible, the barn is beautiful in the evenings all lit up. There is an available groom's and bridal suite as well as many options to get married outside. They were super flexible with the weather-it had been raining that week a little and that morning so we were able to have the ceremony on the patio. Reasonable price as well for what you're getting with the venue. They only have one wedding per day so that's reassuring to know they aren't worried about anyone else. Donna was always great with responding to emails, always professional, called when I needed her to, and really cared about the land and the history behind the venue. She was also there during the ceremony and most of the reception to guide the guests and vendors around, as well as made sure the ceremony went as planned.

Problems-not many just a few minor things.
I guess I was just always under the impression venues would help with at least some of the set up. I think they set our linens but that was about it.
When you book a day, you're only limited to a few hours. They only opened the barn up to us at 1:00 p.m. when the wedding was at 4:00. We had tons to set up and my bridal party was running around and doing the set up because we were so limited on time that day. I almost wish we had the ability to get in earlier, say 9:00 to set up first and then take advantage of the nice bridal suite they had. We were so rushed at that point it looked like a tornado went off in there! You also can't leave anything there that night after the wedding to pick up in the am-which was fine but we had to be out by 10:30 and it took us a little while to get all our stuff! All in all we loved it and I can't wait to see how our pics turned out!

The venue itself was beautiful and affordable! Luckily we had a perfect day for a wedding (ie clear skies no rain)..I would recommend opting for the horse drawn carriage..even though it was pricey..it was well worth it..i def felt like a princess on my day..the staff was nice however it was a little chaotic on the day of the wedding..I felt like I was rushed to be on a time limit during pictures and would have wanted more pictures of my husband and I..also I was very annoyed that we had to change our rehearsal from the night before the wedding to the night before because they booked another event/bride the day of our rehearsal and so we had to change everyone's schedules to the friday rehearsal instead of a saturday night rehearsal..at the rehearsal we didnt go over any music because even though we brought it they never let us practice it and on the wedding day my processional didn't go the way I wanted..To future brides I would recommend doing catering through Zesty Gourmet..they were amazing and sooo friendly! Also if you need a dj book Shawn Johns from Spinning the Tunes..He is very efficient and will play the type of music you want and is probably the best dj around and he's also affordable! Ostertag doesn't provide caterer or dj or bartender so it can get rather pricey having to pay for those things..overall however, my wedding was perfect, the venue was amazing, and the staff was friendly and accomodating

We had such a great day at Ostertag! I was planning remotely and Donna went above and beyond to help me out during the planning sessions. The venue is absolutely beautiful and I can't wait to see my photos!

It was beautiful! guests really enjoyed the view and barn. All set up was done perfectly and the place was beautiful.

As other reviewers have stated, this venue is absolutely gorgeous! As soon as I toured the site I knew it would be perfect for my wedding. I got married at the end of May on what turned out to be a scorching hot day, and even though the main area of the barn doesn't have air conditioning, having the big barn doors open created a nice cross breeze and we soon forgot about the heat.
Our ceremony took place at the fernwood location which I would also highly recommend. We got some of the most beautiful pictures there! Ostertag was also very accommodating because we wanted our chairs set up a little differently than the norm. It was also very nice that we had two back-up plans in case of rain- and they were all gorgeous. We even had a question for the landscaper about the grooming of our ceremony site, and we were able to speak to him directly about it. He was super helpful and extremely friendly, and he put us at ease about our concerns.
It is true that there are a lot of rules (no candles, no sparklers, etc.), but they are laid out for you before you book so you can know if any of the rules will be deal breakers for you.
The one problem I had was that my ceremony began about 15 minutes late because of a problem with the people mover (the venue provides a golf cart to transport people to the ceremony). The wedding party and I were on time, but Ostertag caused the delay. They did apologize, but it caused my cocktail hour to be shortened so that the reception could be on time. I assume this isn't the norm though.
Overall, I would absolutely recommend this venue, especially if you're looking to have your ceremony outdoors because the farm is beautiful. All of the staff we came in contact with were a pleasure to work with, and Donna was always quick to respond when we had questions for her. This venue provides so many options for how you want things to be set up both with your ceremony and reception, and we (plus our guests!) had a night we will never forget.

Ostertag Vistas was a gorgeous venue and all of the staff were very nice. The day of our wedding everyone was helpful and the day went off without a hitch!

The Venue is beautiful with many options for a ceremony. All of the paperwork was very informative so that you knew exactly what you were getting as well as what else you could add on for an additional cost. The value for what you are getting is pretty much unmatched and made mine and my husbands day, absolutely everything that we had hoped for. If you are looking for a rustic venue with gorgeous outdoor options, please look into Ostertag.

We snagged a late April Saturday & it really is the best time to book if you want the weekend exclusively to yourself - weather is a gamble but there's usually no Friday or Sunday events during that time so we were able to rehearse and set up the day before. Beautiful grounds and rustic cottages for amazing photos even in the rain!

We are so thankful for Donna's help and professionalism through the entire planning process and day-of. We hired her as our planner and our wedding would not have been possible without her. She's seen just about every type of event at this venue, knows the flow and makes sure everything goes smoothly and has a backup plan.

Just like any venue you pick there are going to be rules and extras - You have to gather all your decor at the end of the night so it was worth it for us to pay a small fee for an additional hour. Ostertag is an original historic barn so sparklers are not an option but they have an outside fire pit for rent and electric fireplaces inside. Only around 120 guests can fit in the main barn but they can certainly accommodate more. Some of our guests ate downstairs in the stable then the crew moved tables upstairs, brought in extra chairs and created a great dance floor space for our 160 guests. Everyone was raving about the venue and the ceremony was beautiful!

Wouldn't of changed anything! Our day was perfect!!

Absolutely gorgeous setting, very helpful with timing, table arrangements, and most vendors. Did not care for their on-site wedding co-ordinator. Could have been better communication but that might have been my fault. All around a perfect selection. P.S. They only handle one wedding a day and have about 4-6 sites for indoor/outdoor ceremonies! WOnderful couple to work with.

I almost booked another barn venue but I kept thinking of Ostertag and finally decided to go take a look. I'm so glad I did! With my parents and fiance (now husband!) at my side, we booked a date on the spot because we all knew we had found the perfect venue for us. Donna was a pleasure to work with, always available to answer questions and accommodate our crazy schedule as much as possible. We were well taken care of and couldn't have asked for a more beautiful setting for our big day. Terri was assigned to us as our day-of coordinator and was a life-saver! When my flowers wilted the morning of the wedding, my groom ran to a grocery store to get me some more and Terri worked quickly to put them together into beautiful bouquets. No one even knew they were from Weis Market! She also worked tirelessly to help arrange centerpieces, keep me on schedule, and make sure I looked my best before walking down the aisle. All in all, we had as near a perfect day as could be imagined. Our guests are still raving about Ostertag and we've been told by a dozen or more people that they've never seen a more beautiful, enchanting place to have a wedding.

Donna and family, thank you for sharing your home with us on our big day. You provided a truly magical setting for my dream day and I can't thank you enough for that!

This place is absolutely beautiful!!! I wouldn't dream of having had my wedding anywhere else. The owners are very sweet people, but very possessive of their property and will keep a very obvious and scrutinizing watchful eye over your reception while it is going on

Ostertag is a beautiful venue! Everything turned out exactly as we'd imagined and ostertag helped make that happen. I was planning from across the country which has it's own set of challenges, but overall I was able to get everything I needed from ostertag and had a beautiful event at their beautiful farm!

Ostertag Vistas is a truly beautiful venue with endless options for ceremony and photography locations. I booked the venue in March 2013 for my June 2014 event and worked mainly with Donna throughout this time period. Donna was always extremely responsive to my questions and concerns and is a very nice lady. For the 30 day meeting, Donna answered all our questions and concerns and was very patient with our decisions. On the wedding day, I had a wedding day coordinator that was not a part of Ostertag. She worked with Donna on the day of the wedding to carry everything out. Donna was helpful, attentive and friendly on the day of and everything was set up and ready as discussed prior to the event.

A few things to note: The venue says they provide sound equipment and keyboard for the ceremony. After much inquiry regarding this we ended up just paying our DJ extra to bring in professional sound equipment. We heard bad things about the quality of the equipment and we had a hard time obtaining information from the venue regarding it. We also rented our linens and a few other things from the venue. Although this worked out well I was a little bothered that the prices we were given when we booked in 2013 had gone up by the time we had our event in 2014. Although we were notified, I was disappointed that booking didn't lock in the advertised prices we had seen originally. Note that when you book, the in house rental prices may go up by the time you have your event. Lastly, although the venue does provide coordination don't expect it to be the same service you would receive if you hired a wedding coordinator. They are very responsive and helpful with things regarding the venue specifically but won't necessarily coordinate or help you with other vendors or problems. If you want full service day of coordination you should consider hiring someone separately.

Overall this is a beautiful place to have a wedding!

Ostertag will always have a special place in our hearts. The venue is a wonderful way to show off so many reasons I love where I grew up, from the beauty of the rolling hills to the kindness of so many people who want to help make your day wonderful.

It was great to have so many choices for our location, depending on the weather, etc. We didn't really have to decide until it was time to set up the chairs. Everyone we worked with was helpful and flexible as we figured out how to make the day perfect - and it turned out just that way!

My husband and I recently got married at this venue. We did not look at any other place except for Ostertag because it is so picturesque. We would absolutely recommend this venue to others because the pictures are absolutely gorgeous but you would have to be prepared for the stiff rules provided by the owners. Definitely worth the value, must be willing to charter your guests to/from the venue, must be prepared to have the owner at your entire wedding.

The venue is beautiful and just what we where looking for.

I loved our wedding at Ostertag Vistas. The venue is, of course, stunning, and the staff can run weddings in their sleep, making for a day that seemed to flow on its own.

Leading up to the wedding, I did experience a few minor frustrations where I felt information had been a bit opaque. Though they offer a "day of coordinator," I think they would be more accurate labeling this a venue manager. Fonda did an excellent job working us through the rehearsal and helping us get in and out on the wedding day. She was really friendly and easy to work with. Prior to the wedding, I experienced a few moments of stress when I realized that Ostertag wasn't going to provide a true coordinator - something I had been led to believe they would - but with careful planning on my end, things went off easily on the actual wedding day. I'd also note that while they initially told us they had everything we needed to amplify an outdoor wedding, this wasn't really the case. Luckily we figured this out in advance and made our own plans for purchasing a mobile PA system (which works really great, was only $100, and which Ostertag should really invest in for itself!). If you have a DJ, you're not going to have this issue, but if you don't, it's something to be aware of.

But, there was much more good than bad at this venue. Major props to them having both plan B and plan C options for ceremony sites. While we had our heart set on getting married in the trees, flash floods the day before made that impossible. We still had a gorgeous outdoor wedding on the patio, which was a pretty amazing Plan B if you ask me.

Our guests decsribed the venue as fun, warm, inviting, and beautiful. And I think they're right!

Overall, I would recommend this venue to anyone. i think if you are clear with what exactly they provide right up front, and are willing to do some legwork, you can end up with a truly beautiful, easy wedding day.

Ostertag Vistas is a beautiful venue to have your perfect day! Every view is breath taking! They have many different options of where to have you ceremony and they are really flexiable. We had a 30 day meeting with Wanda and she made me feel so relaxed. We went over major details and I knew what was going to happen the day of.
The day of the wedding was not as relaxed as they whole planning phase had been. Their wedding planer that was assigned to me, was a drill sgt. 10 minutes before my cermony she told my photographer and I no more pictures that it was time. I explained to her we still have 10 min I am ready and guest are still being seated, we do have time for one more picture! She shot me a dirty nastey look! Through out the rest of the day she would hound me and the guest. Ok typicall cake cutting, cake smashed in each others faces, we got two little peices on the floor. She was so mad! We cleaned it up, but I walked around all evening worrying about what she was give people a nasty look for! In the end their wedding planner was disrespectful and pushy.
I loved this venue! It was beautiful the owners are wonderful and very flexable, but keep in mind that their first priority is there venue. If you can deal with that and want wonderful pictures this is the place.

I loved this venue for the location and how it is essentially already decorated for you. The lighting is great and they were very good at setting everything up just like how I envisioned it. We also had rain so the stables is where we got married and it was beautiful. The only complaint I would have is that there were dead flies all over the window sills in the bridal suite that I would have liked to be cleaned and they would not let us into the venue before 12:30 the day of the wedding so I had to get ready at my MOH’s house instead of there, which was disappointing, but it worked out. Otherwise I would recommend choosing this venue solely for getting the amazing pictures that you want. (:

Our daughter’s wedding was a real delight at this lovely historic barn. It easily accommodated our modest group of 65 guests. The patio adjacent to the barn was ideal, close enough that you could duck inside if it started to rain, which it didn’t! Donna Easterday was quite helpful with our same-day coordination. Everyone remarked how much fun they had. Good for couples and families who like to “do it yourself” but with a little help. Scenic, informal and fun!

The day of coordinators Terri and Colleen were wonderful!! Everything on the day of went very well and this is a wonderful venue. The planning process in the beginning was a little shakey. Some of the staff there that are not involved with the day-of activities are reluctant to let you be flexible and missed details we requested. But once the day of came we let those things go because it was so nice working with Terri and Colleen!! We would recommend the venue to friends and family but advise the venue to get some friendlier staff during the booking and planning process.

I'll be in love with this place forever-- the gorgeous fields, incredible barn space, rolling hills. And the fact that all of this is offered to the public by the same family that owned this land since the early 18th century makes it all the better. This is not a wedding factory that you might find elsewhere, but the Easterdays do their best to make your day wonderful. At the same time, because this venue is a small operation with lots of family history, I found that some communication was slow (or inconvenient, asking me to call when I email-- and I'm pretty sure some of our mailed correspondence was written on a typewriter...) and some options were limited (the fake ivy in the barn won't come down-- an unfortunate choice of decor for constantly changing wedding trends). But if you look past these and book your event here, you'll support an extremely nice family who has incredible pride in their history. And you'll get scenery you've always dreamed of.

We had a wonderful experience with Ostertag from start to finish. I had a dream wedding in mind and wanted a DIY style. At first the venue seemed a bit hesitant with some of my ideas because it was not part of their normal routine, but when came down to the actual day, everything was great. I had complete freedom is setting up and having the DIY event that we wanted. The venue provides a great space, both indoor and outdoor, which we utilized well. It rained on our wedding, but we had plenty of space for our guests. The location is secluded, quiet, and peaceful and we are so happy to have been married here. Thank you Ostertag!

Ostertag was the first and only venue we looked at. We booked it that day for 18 months later.

The venue is beautiful, which is most important. There were a few headaches along the way. As other people have mentioned, if booking in advance, your rental prices will go up. You will not be informed of this until the last minute. Ultimately it worked out, but, it would have been nice to know of that additional cost.

The owners are nice, though slightly disorganized. It seems like Wanda handles some things while Donna handles others. You have to reach out to them both to get the answers you need. Not always convenient.

We did things a little differently than they are used to and they were mostly accommodating to our requests.

Our guests raved about how gorgeous the property was, however, as a bride there were things I noticed that I wish would have been
taken care of prior to our wedding. Many of their permanent decor items were dusty and
Cobwebbed, which I noticed many places. Things we had discussed at our initial meeting later became an impossibility.

If you can be flexible and patient, the venue is beautiful.

Our spring wedding was booked over a year and a half before the date as this venue books quickly. I was only having the reception at this venue and the wedding ceremony at my church. The planning process went well and Wanda and Donna were great to work with and organized. During the walk through of the venue before the wedding I had noticed a few changes. One being a large light in the center of the beam of the dance floor. It was not there prior to booking and I felt did not match the décor of the barn. When asked to having it removed or switched out with options I was told I had. I was told it would be about a 300.00 fee as they would have to pay someone to take it down and place it back up. I was actually with Donna the day she was looking at this light in a book to order and told her I felt it didn't match. At this time she said not to worry we had options that can be switched out. Another negative was for a reception only plan set up is 2 hours before the reception starts. Well....that's when family photos were being taken and everyone I know was planning to be at the church. Therefore, I had to pay for a day of coordinator to be responsible for setting everything up. I saw nothing till I arrived. I had a wonderful coordinator so everything was perfect but this takes a lot of work on the client and one more vendor to pay. The barn is beautiful BY ITSELF the décor to me seems as if someone just took extras they had at home and hung them. Several places are silk flowers non of which match. On the loft where 40 some guests sit there is a large white crooked half falling over gazebo. We were told this could not be removed. It just looks like it's about to fall over and not a night sight. I decided on this venue because of it's outdoors. It is BEAUTIFUL. They could make improvements in the décor by removing all the silks and just letting the barn by itself be beautiful it needs to decorations. As far as the day of everything was perfect

The venue is gorgeous. The rules are very strict and there is not much flexibility. The price is the same whether you book on a Friday or a Sunday and is a bit expensive considering how many restrictions there are. The venue did make for great pictures though and the staff is great!

Ostertag is a beautiful venue, and the scenery around the venue is stunning. The scenery is what sold it for us. The staff was helpful leading up to the wedding, but things got more difficult the closer we got to the wedding. We paid extra for day of coordinating services, and we did not feel as supported as we thought we would be. The groom and family directed several vendors on where to go and what to do, but we were told that the day of coordinator would take the lead on this. Overall, it’s a beautiful venue, but we would have liked more support from the staff.

This place was beautiful. It was everything I wanted for my wedding. The three story barn was incredible. When we first went, we dealt wit the man who owned it and he convinced us that it was the place to go!! However, over t he course of 18 months, the man had fallen ill and his daughter took over. She was very professional, but was really not too helpful along the way. We had a three hour walk through the month before the wedding, and at the very end, she told us that she had booked a wedding the night before ours and we had to do all the decorations the day of the wedding and also that we couldnt even do the rehearsal at the place we were doing the ceremony. The day of the wedding, i was pulled away many times to be asked silly questions that we already went over before. I was not happy with the way the ceremony had ended, when we first talked over contracts, the man had said we could have the barn until dark even if it went passedo ur time, but when the day came, we were promptly told we were to be out at 7....

I waited until we heard back from our lawyer to write this post. I am going to be VERY honest about our experience with Ostertag which I will not be recommending to anyone for the future.

My then fiancé, now wife, and I looked at a number of venues for our big day and finally decided on Ostertag. Donna was professional and knowledgeable of the site and very cordial. Ostertag is indeed a very beautiful place. With that said, upon the global disaster that was the Coronavirus, Ostertag ultimately utilized the situation to take our money while we received no refund for the venue rental whatsoever.

I must say that Donna did work with us on rescheduling dates to work around the pandemic. Our initial wedding date was in June of 2020. We shifted it to September, and because the Covid situation became worse, we moved it to April 2021. We also paid for a Day of coordination service which Donna compensated almost all of the money, which she stated she couldn’t refund all due to taxes.

When April 2021 rolled around, the Covid situation was getting better but still not great. We learned that the barn which was the reason we selected Ostertag had a number of restrictions which would have totally made the day undesirable. For example, the barn has three layers. I was told that a certain number of guests could not be on each level which would make fellowship impossible between all the guests. Secondly, we were told masks MUST be worn in the barn with the exception of eating. Even when a newly married couple was having their first dance, if they wanted to dance in the barn, Ostertag fully intended to implement them wearing masks in the barn while guests stood outside and looked in.

When we called to see about moving our date again (which was once scheduled on a Sunday), we were told we could only book a Monday - Thursday. A clear attempt to rent the barn to other new parties. Their reply stated that they did not have availability on weekends which was not true because their website indicated otherwise.

Ultimately, we were told the only way we could get any money back was if another couple booked our date which did not happen. When the date passed, we were told - You canceled so no refund.

Every other group we worked with for our big day had the common courtesy to refund us at LEAST a portion of our funds. We understand that Covid was a no fault situation for both parties and something out of the control of everyone. Ostertag kept every dime of the money we gave them for the venue. We verbally requested SOMETHING, but we’re denied that possibility.

Again, virtually every other party we worked with compensated us at least a portion of our funds which we were fine with because we understand they had a challenging year. I would not personally have a clear conscience if I cashed a check when a client lost out on their wedding day and simply kept all of their money. A partial refund would have been the humanitarian thing to do.

To me, it is clear that at the end of the day it is more about the money than the customer. I had a number of other couples reach out to me with similar experiences, in some cases worse than ours. Yes, Covid may have hurt your finances, but it hurt everyone, including brides and grooms who spent thousands at your facility.

In short, had we been compensated ANY portion of the funds we paid for the venue, I would have been satisfied. I will not at any time be recommending Ostertag Vistas and Fully intend to file a claimant against Ostertag with the Better Business Bureau.

This venue is beautiful and a perfect representation of the intrinsic beauty of Frederick County, Maryland. My daughter wanted an outdoor wedding that had a 1st class backup for rain and be well equipped to handle guests with special needs. They appeared to offer perfect solutions. And perhaps had it not rained (heavy rain the entire week and day of) our experience would have been better than it was. They are extremely protective of the site so much so that in in some ways I felt we were not partnering for a successful wedding rather we were being over-lorded. Up until the wedding the service & communications were wonderful.
1) They have a "kitchen" area that is not outfitted to protect the floors. In my mind that is completely ridiculous. Keeping any of the beverages outside just slightly covered from the rain was silly.
2) Our "partner" (supervisor) was Wanda. While in the midst of dressing she walked into the grooms suite without knocking. That's right WITHOUT knocking. She also followed them around to such an extent that one of the groomsmen finally asked her to leave them alone. What did she think they were doing?? Ummm, getting pictures with the photographer that's what.
3) I bought a perfect isle runner that we couldn't use because they have no accommodation to hold it in place and under no condition could we use any adhesive of any kind. Really? You can't have something fashioned specifically for this simple wedding staple?
4) the "people mover" turned out to have restrictions on use. The groom's grandmother was in a wheelchair and when we most needed it Wanda wouldn't allow it. And remember it was raining - his uncle had to push her up around that building in the pouring rain. That pisses me off big time!
5) We had the building until 11 but by 10:15 I was being rushed to do the walk thru and leave. Remember, it was RAINING!
Despite these things the wedding was beautiful. My rating here is primarily because of the "people mover" situation.

It has taken me 4 months after our wedding to finally write up a review simply because who wants to have such hard feelings toward something that occurred on their wedding day. I chose this venue over others because I felt that other venues were “nickle and diming” us, and it turns out we felt the exact same with this venue. During our initial tour of the venue Donna failed to state all of the additional charges such as the firepit right in front of the barn, and the fact that yes they can hold 150-ish people but many of them need to be in the basement separate of everyone. At the start of covid the communication we had was so unreliable. When I contacted Donna initially about our options if we had to postpone she told me on the first phone call that we could postpone to a Friday or Sunday, which is still ridiculous because I paid for a Saturday, but I accepted this answer. I followed up later in regard to the same thing just to confirm the conversation we had and was told we could only postpone to a Monday-Thursday and when I said that is not what was initially said she said it was a miscommunication and that the venue was booking up fast. It was not a miscommunication as my mother in law was also listening to the conversation, and per the online calendar there was plenty of availability later in the year. This is just one of many times that she would say something over the phone instead of in writing, and then went back on her word. Highly recommend having everything in writing if you do chose to go with this venue!
While yes, the policy does state that with cancelations you only receive a certain percentage of money back their suggestion to cancel, rebook, and repay, AND only get SOME money back if we wanted a Saturday was a total slap in the face and shows their lack of loyalty to customers. We were given other options such as streaming the wedding on Facebook live, having 25 family members come and go each hour, and having 25 people at our wedding was totally unrealistic, and again felt like a slap in the face. Wedding venues cost thousands of dollars and for them to suggest those as options with no other assistance of rescheduling is ridiculous. I understand that as a business they had to navigate with local restrictions the best they could but to be a business owner and offer no assistance or support (i.e charging me to cancel and reschedule with you, not allowing me to book on a Saturday) to your customers shows the character of the Easterdays.
At our final walkthrough Donna arrived late to our meeting, and rushed us off when we still had questions to ask because there was another appointment of potential renters. She overstepped the entire planning process when I did not hire her for day of coordination- even going so far to ask me my opinion on the covid vaccine and “highly recommending” all of my guest be vaccinated. Yes, it is important for the venue to know what vendors are coming in, the count, etc. but requiring me to tell Donna the processional order and small details of my wedding was not up to her and entirely up to the wedding coordinator that I hired (who they later inquired hiring LOL). When we had our initial phone call she suggested that we end the wedding at 8:30pm and argued reasons why we should. Every wedding I have attended, and everyone I have talked to found that absolutely ridiculous. During our final walkthrough we also discussed that we would need to utilize the “people mover” and golf cart for elderly guests that could not walk long distances (mind you this is promoted in their pamphlet). We were told that it would be ready for wedding day. Come wedding day my family was told the golf cart “was not charged” and asked if we still needed it. We absolutely did still need it so their solution was to put my family members in Jennifers personal vehicle which was described as “filthy”. How absolutely unprofessional.
Come rehearsal evening we arrived 30mins-1hr early because at this point our wedding was totally outside and we did not need the barn for frankly anything, so there was no reason that we could not meet up ahead of time and start putting things where they belonged outside. We felt totally unwelcomed and rushed even though I had already paid $500 to have an extra hour to rehearse and an extra hour on wedding day. Jennifer was totally unprofessional and gave attitude and used profanity to everyone that evening when it was not warranted. Although in the business setting I’m not sure when attitude and cursing is ever warranted. Wedding night around 10pm (we still had an entire hour), Jennifer made a comment to my family that we can “get the rest of the shit out of here now”. Another comment was made and overheard from the two saying “theyre going to be a problem”. Both Jennifer and Wanda ate our food, and ate out of the ice cream truck without asking permission from my family or I, BEFORE ALL OF MY GUESTS HAD FOOD. Every other vendor had asked initially and we of course said yes, its common courtesy.
After the wedding, pictures of my personal decorations were placed on their Facebook giving no credit to my family or self to promote their business Our vendors, family, and friends assisting with the planning process have been absolutely appalled by the way they treated us, and everyone that attended rehearsal could not believe how unprofessional and rude Jennifer was. On our end we should have done more research to recognize that most venues give you much longer than 11 hours, and don’t have tedious rules such as the no beer bottles/cans rule in your pamphlet. Unfortunately, it is on us for making the wrong choice in venue and not doing our research. I emailed Donna basically this exact review once we returned from our honey moon, hours later I received a call from Wanda (her mother) who had the least to do with any of my complaints. Donna then emails me, “Hi Myranda. Wanda called you today twice. May I ask when you are available to speak with her?”. I responded back that I had nothing further to say at this point and I haven’t heard a word back since.

I did not have a good experience with Ostertag Vistas - with all their staff. The place is absolutely beautiful, but that is really all they have to offer. I would have questions about setup, but they would always tell me "we will discuss that in your 30 day meeting" - which was not helpful at all.

The day of the wedding was a nightmare. My brother in law arrived 30 minutes prior to our arrival time and they gave him attitude and wouldn't let him in even though he was going to drop off things for the wedding. Fonda was extremely rude the entire day - I think she's the coordinator. She snapped at my husband one hour before the ceremony when she saw he wasn't dressed and made a comment "the way you're moving you'll never be ready". And she snapped at my sister, when we weren't lined up for the ceremony and yelled at her that we should have been lined up 15 minutes ago.... even though no one told us it was time.

After the ceremony was over, Wanda yelled at me and the bridal party when we didn't know where to go... "to get out of here to go up up up!" Some of my guests saw how she acted and I felt embarrassed.

During the setup, we moved a table over because it seemed a bit close to another table.... and during dinner Don came over and moved it himself while guests were sitting at the table. My guests even told me they felt like they didn't belong because he had to move their table.

My reception was until 9PM and they started stacking chairs and cleaning up at 7:30PM... even though in the contract it stated that we would have 10 hours so we were counting on having the place from 12-10pm. Some of our guests felt like they were being kicked out early. Also, my husband who is disabled stood up and Don took his chair from him immediately. His friend had to yell at him to give it back.

At the end of the night, it was apparent we were not happy with their behavior and all they said was "I know. I'm sorry."

If I knew this was the way they were going to act on my special day, I would have picked some place else. Absolutely rude and inconsiderate.

Although the venue is beautiful, my wedding at Ostertag Vistas was a disaster due to the ill-prepared and unprofessional staff. If you have your wedding here, be prepared to do all the coordinating work yourself, and even to rearrange the tables yourself while your hair is up in pins because the staff *will not believe you* when you point to your seating chart and physically show them proof that they did it wrong. During the reception, I found out that two of my guests did not even have seats. Not cheap. Staff was rude. Barn is not air conditioned. There are a lot of "rules" that seem to change over time. They told my sister to bring a rake so that she could rake up the real rose petals we used at the ceremony! They are very much obsessed with their property and building and your wedding experience comes in a distant second...if at all.
