Our daughters wedding & reception was held at Ormond Plantation. It was more then we could hope for! As we were lining up, it started raining. We were giving the option to move the ceremony or to wait a few minutes for the rain to stop. As soon as it stopped raining, the staff dried all chairs and the ceremony started. Everything was great! Our family stayed at the Plantation & Cheif Richard prepared breakfast. Thank You to Robin, Peggy & Cheif Richard as well as the entire staff that made this possible.

Have not one complaint with Robin or any staff member. Rehearsal dinner was fabulous -- food, venue, wait staff, etc. All our requests were taken care of and couldn't have had a better night. Only wish I had taken more pictures!! Our dinner took place in the Carriage House on the property which was perfect. My daughter and son-in-law stayed in the Manor for their wedding night and their one year anniversary with breakfast served the next morning and they were very pleased. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

My husband and I got married here 2 months ago today! Ceremony and reception were absolutely beautiful. We also did our engagement photos and post-bridal photos at this beautiful plantation! Would recommend to anyone! Food was delicious and was served until the very end of my reception. The staff was great and very responsive to not only mine and my husbands needs but also to all of our guests! I just wish that I would have spent even more time here!

My husband and I held our ceremony and reception at Ormond Plantation and it was absolutely fabulous! Mrs. Robin Priest, Chef Richard Kiral and staff were amazing, paying attention to every detail, quality food and service, and most importantly, that wonderful Southern hospitality. In choosing a venue, my fiance and his family were from up North and being that I was born and raised in the area, I wanted something that would impress us locals, as well as, really be intriguing, historical, and beautiful to our guests. All in attendance, both local and visitors commented so positively on the venue, food, and service. Everyone enjoyed every aspect from our event and I could not have asked for a better wedding! Cheers to Ormond Plantation in being everything I imagined and more! THANK YOU!

    Love,

We held our rehearsal dinner, wedding, and reception at Ormond Plantation. Robin and her staff were a pleasure to work with. They were very accommodating to make sure everything was perfect for our day. Robin took into account every detail to make sure my day would turn out just like I envisioned. It turned out to be everything and more. The food prepared by their in house chef was absolutely amazing. The DJ knew just how to make the music flow throughout the night and definitely knew how to keep everyone dancing all night long. My husband and I stayed in the bridal suite the night of our wedding. The next morning we were served another amazing breakfast by the chef. I highly recommend Ormond Plantation for a wedding, reception, or even stopping by for dinner.

We had a very small and intimate wedding. We were married in the front yard under the majestic oak and had our reception in the Carriage House. It was absolutely perfect. Our guests raved about the food and atmosphere. The staff was exceptionally helpful and accomodating. Our wedding pictures are breathtaking!

Robin and her staff were incredible, and prefect. On the night before the wedding we had the rehearsal dinner at Ormond Plantation afterward I and two of my bridesmaids retired into the Bridal Suite to relax and get some sleep. On the morning of my Big Day Robin and her cook made us breakfast, to make sure we could make it thru the busy day. I can’t express the joy, the pleasure, the excitement when my husband and I first saw our wedding pictures; the Plantation and the Oak Tree looked amazing. I would recommend using Ormond Plantation. .

We had an amazing experience with Ormond. Robin was always incredibly helpful and accommodating and open to ideas and our needs and wants for our special day here. We did have a few communication bumps over the months but the staff was always very helpful. On the day of the wedding, the wait staff service and the food was absolutely amazing. They were even able to accommodate food allergies in our menu. We even had forgotten our toasting glasses and serving pieces for the cake cutting and they were able to provide some for us to use. Overall we had a great experience with Ormond and the staff there.

My wife and I had both our rehearsal dinner, wedding, and reception here.

The rehearsal dinner was fantastic. Chef makes great food, you won't be disappointed. Richard (the owners son) is a true blessing. He worked his butt of for us both at the rehearsal and during the day of our wedding. He is fantastic and I can't say enough good things about him being worth his weight in gold. We didn't get quite as much assistance from the venue as we anticipated during setup so if you are bringing a lot of your own stuff, bring some friends as well.

I didn't love our wedding coordinator, she was late to the rehearsal (I had to restart for her). Then, the next day she asked similar questions as I was about to walk down the aisle (she didn't remember), had the nerve to say I was the most nervous groom she'd ever worked with (UNPROFESSIONAL), and then didn't orchestrate any of the reception events (I told her we were cutting the cake, doing the second line, ect). I was not a fan of her services as I could have just done everything myself... since I did anyway.

Robin (owner) is very laid back which I love but my wife occasionally got frustrated with - For instance, they were very willing to work with us at everyone's convenience for the pay schedule (super helpful for our situation), but don't necessarily have an itemized inventory of decorations. Like I said, I appreciated the calm demeanor, but my wife was somewhat frustrated with the lack of specificity.

Overall, the plantation is fantastic - I can't recommend the setting enough.
Food is also just great. Its true cajun cuisine and Chef is a pro.

Would definitely recommend and its value can't be beaten.

Our wedding night was wonderful, the only complaint anyone has was about the dj!

    Ormond Manor's reply:

Your ceremony and reception was a very beautiful night to remember. We are sorry you had problems with the DJ, to our knowledge it was a misunderstanding with a playlist/request submitted. Please let us know.

Assistant for the day criticized the photographer for being late, pushing the ceremony back 10minutes. That was not a big deal to me because he was not that late taking important shots, her criticizing him was not professional.

The food given to me and my groom was really cold, not even warm, cold! That made our meal not so enjoyable.

One of the employees, apart of the wait staff, was taking photos in our photo booth. Very unprofessional!

One of my guests and my mom complained about one of the women, Debbie, in the office being very rude and unprofessional.

The biggest problem was we paid $800 to get married under the tree behind the plantation. It rained that day, so the ceremony was moved in the reception space, yet we were not refunded ANY money from that fee. There should be somewhere in a contract that states a partial or full refund if the weather prevents the ceremony from occurring under the tree. Instead the owner informed us no refund, because she needed to bring in more staff. That was never discussed or agreed upon, prior to the wedding.

    Ormond Manor's reply:

Our mission is for every bride's day to be perfect and we strive for that here at Ormond. The duty of our Wedding Attendant is to make sure everything is on time and flows accordingly. Most brides appreciate the schedule being adhered to and it is her job to make sure that it is followed in a professional manner.

We apologize for your servings not being warm although we received many compliments from your wedding party and guests.

The cost of a ceremony here at Ormond starts at $800.00; prices vary according to location - Pavilion, Courtyard, Home - all are $800. Should we have inclement weather, the ceremony is moved into one of these locations; Home or Pavilion. Unfortunately, we have no control over the weather and your ceremony was moved into the Pavilion, which was rearranged for the ceremony then rearranged into the configuration for the reception, which your team decorated beautifully.

We apologize for any unprofessionalism you may have experienced from any of our employees, we want our clients to experience nothing but the best. We appreciate your review and comments. Our sincerest apologies and warmest wishes to you and your groom.

Most Unprofessional Experience I have ever had

I am writing this as a warning to other couples looking for a wedding venue. We initially selected Ormond Manor as our venue for our microwedding, and this was the worst decision we could have made. Everything we did was based on this location that is at least an hour drive for everyone, so I also based our vendors in that area. I paid my deposit at the end of November and everything was good to go. I sent an email to the coordinator, Lindy, three months before our date to start getting our timeline together as my vendors started requesting timeframes and we had people coming from out of state. I received no response after a week, so I emailed her again, and still no response. The third week rolls around, I email, get no response again, so I call Ormond. I spoke with an employee who instructed me that Lindy was not available, but she will tell her that I called. Still no returned call or email. I call again the next week and speak to the same employee who instructs me that she did give Lindy my message, Lindy is not available, but she will tell her that I really need to speak with her. Still no contact. Based on that, I started freaking out and canceled our contract via email within the timeframe to receive my deposit back. Finally, after almost two months of trying to reach her, I receive a call from a private number. It’s Lindy and she instructs me she must call on a private line “off the record” and that the owners did not approve the contract I had initially signed, they want to now change our wedding and reception to something that either fits what they envision or to charge me double for what we already agreed upon. Also, her reasoning behind not returning my communication was because she “thought I would get the hint.” The conversations literally had a tone of middle school drama that I can’t explain, and I was just absolutely appalled. Keep in mind this is a microwedding, our budget is small, so that deposit was a big deal to us, so no I’m not just going to “take a hint” and leave all my money with you. I am only assuming, but I’m fairly certain they were waiting for me to fall in the timeline of not receiving my deposit back, and THEN telling me they could no longer accommodate us before returning communication. I asked her about receiving our deposit back, and it took my husband getting involved to get any type of response from her. The owners were out of town, which is another excuse I received for well over a month, and the reason I was unable to get my deposit back right away. I disputed the transaction with my credit card company and sent them all the documentation. Ormond never actually reimbursed our money, no apologies from anyone, and it took me disputing the charge to actually get my money back. It took us over three weeks to get our deposit back after I canceled which caused us to miss the window to secure another all-inclusive venue, and remember those vendors I contracted in the area? Yeah, now we had to pay travel charges to them for the new location. With only three weeks left until the wedding I was able to scramble and find a beautiful Airbnb, ordered food for catering, and my AMAZING wedding party and husband were able to throw together the wedding. The reception was nothing like we planned due to the last-minute planning, but it was still a perfect day no thanks to Ormond Manor. On a side note, my husband and I also went there to eat the food, and I am almost grateful this happened, because the food we were served at the restaurant was subpar by Louisiana standards. I work in customer service, and I have NEVER experienced that lack of professionalism. I’m sure other brides may have had wonderful experiences here, but ours was absolutely a nightmare.
