October Wedding

Missy and Thom were the best money I spent throughout the entire wedding process. From the very first meeting, Missy was professional, organized, and creative. She put me completely at ease and made the planning process enjoyable rather than stressful. I literally had ZERO stress because she had my full confidence. On the day of the wedding, Missy made my vision come to life and was able to guide me in pulling everything together. When there was a hiccup with the venue on the day of the wedding, Missy took charge and made things right. I was able to enjoy my day getting ready with out having to know about a single headache or problem.

Amazing, Wonderful, Detailed

Missy is absolutely amazing and a life saver and that is putting it mildly at best! I don't know what we would have done without her she made planning our wedding so much easier and as stress free as possible. Even when we lost our florist a couple weeks before our wedding she saved the day finding a new one at the last minute for us and coordinated everything. Day of the wedding was more than we could have hoped for setting everything up, making sure everyone was where they were supposed to be, taking care of even the smallest detail, and kept us relaxed multiple times. There are not enough words to express our gratitude to you guys. Everything was absolutely perfect! Thank you over and over!!

Extraordinary Planning and Coordinator Services

11/5/21 was the day I married my best friend and had the wedding of my dreams! Thanks to Missy! I was lucky enough to receive her planning, decor, and day of services as a gift. She took the elements I envisioned and created an outline that turned into a true work of art. I cannot say which I loved more: her personality, her attention to detail, or her ability to keep me calm! When speaking with Missy, I felt like we were fast friends. She knew how to pull together Pinterest ideas and make them come to fruition, with a twist that spoke of who we are as a couple. Not one detail was missed, incorrect, or out of place. I especially enjoyed her day of timeline that the bridal party received. Anytime I felt unsettled about an idea, Missy made herself available to talk things through. Her knowledge, extensive collection of items, and ability to create and envision helped to take away my anxieties and settle my nerves.
The day of the wedding, Missy and her assistant Thom were an incredible duo. They planned and decorated to perfection; then they kept things running smoothly until the end when they stayed to clean up! What an amazing service to offer! Thom was exactly who I needed before the ceremony and while taking photos. He’s hilarious, efficient, and knew my every request before I could even say it.
Missy’s flawless work from creation to execution meant smooth sailing on our wedding day. I could not recommend her services more! You won’t regret working with her and Thom! We loved them!

Pure talent who makes sure every event is perfect!

Missy Martz is not only the best wedding planner, she is also my friend, a confidant, a mentor and a genuinely good person. I have seen Missy’s work first hand from helping her set up events over the years. From making sure every single detail is perfect to plating thousands of cookies to keeping every other vendor on track, Missy truly does it all. In the end Missy makes sure that every client gets the event that they’ve always dreamed of. My bridal shower and my wedding were both so incredible with the help of Missy’s pure talent.
My wedding truly wouldn't have happened without Missy. She was my first call and helped me choose the most perfect wedding venue, helped me plan every detail of my event, set up on my wedding day and stayed to celebrate as my guest! Everything I needed

Missy was exactly what I was looking for in a day of coordinator. She made our reception come to life with her custom creations and designs. I highly recommend her for custom invites as well. She took all the day of stress off of me and was a friendly, pleasure to work with through the entire planning process.

Missy was a dream come true during the last month prior to my wedding. She eased so much stress I felt in finishing important details for the reception. She created table numbers, escort cards, menu cards and various signs that captured the elegance my husband and I desired. Her products fit in perfectly with the rest of decor we had chosen for the room. Missy was sweet and truly cared that I was getting what I desired. My wedding would not have been as amazing if it were not for her and her team setting up an amazing cookie table that received over 50,000 views on Pittsburgh Beautiful's Facebook page. All items she setup were thoughtfully placed and granted a magical feel.

Excellent service and product

Missy was fantastic to work with! I've hired her on two separate occasions:
1. Bridal Shower - Missy hit the ball out of the park with this! I am not a "girly girl" and was having a difficult time transforming a somewhat industrial looking restaurant into a bridal shower space. I had a general idea of what I wanted but she was great with helping me turn that idea into a reality. She helped me with space layout, seating, colors, linens, decorations, games, signage, etc... She brought just the right amount of femininity to the industrial space and it was GORGEOUS! She and her team set everything up and broke everything down at the end of the party; I didn't realize it beforehand but that was a HUGE help!

2. Wedding signage - Missy helped us create a lot of signage for our wedding; she listened to what our vision was then created all of our proofs. Her layouts were creative, the color scheme, images and font all blended with the feel of our venue/wedding and her turnaround time was faster than expected. We did have a few changes to some of the signs (we had a ton of signs/posters/cards/etc.) and were so thankful that she's a great listener; we explained the changes and she implemented them - done!

I would absolutely recommend Missy and am positive we'll be working together again soon!

Missy was the absolute best to work with. I went to her for help with wedding event design and invitations. I LOVED my wedding invitations and received so many compliments from my guests. Missy pulled the theme/colors from my invite into the event signs and overall design. Everything was perfect the day of my event--she made my vision of my wedding day a reality. Amazing, Stunning, and Beautiful!

Missy was the absolute best! Her invitations set the entire tone for my wedding.They were stunning and beautiful. I had a destination wedding and Missy was able to help me get everything I wanted while still making it easy for me to travel with. She helped me with my welcome packages for my guests, which were also unbelievably beautiful. Her thought and attention to detail are immeasurable.

I met Missy through one of my best friends (she was the wedding coordinator for her big day). Words cannot describe how beautiful her work is. I recommend her to everyone I know. We came to Missy for help with our invitation and place card setting designs. We live out of town so we had to communicate mostly thru email. LOVED my wedding invitations!! They were absolutely beautiful. My colors were navy and blush. The invites were navy background with floral design with shades of pink and the envelopes were shimmery blush. Missy also did the signs for my wedding and name cards that went along with the theme of the invites which added a touch of extra color to the venue. She was so easy to work with and exceeded my expectations. Her personality was great to work with. She really helped me in choosing a font and word choices. I would absolutely recommend Missy.

I used Melissa's services for my daughter's wedding and was very pleased with the results. The invitations were beautiful and designed with a personal touch. A couple of my friends said they were the most beautiful invites they had ever received. She also designed a candy table for the guest favors. She was on vacation the day of set up but took 3 pictures and step by step instructions of how to set it up and it turned out perfect. She has an awesome personality, bubbly and energetic and seemed genuinely as excited as we were to plan the event. I would love to use her for my 2nd daughter's wedding!

Other than the groom, I think the best wedding decision I made was hiring Missy and Occasions Creations. She designed our invitations and all signage, the event design and the cookie table for our wedding. Planning a Pittsburgh wedding from Philadelphia, I was very nervous feeling stressed or overwhelmed. But Missy made it so much fun and stress free. She designed the most beautiful invitations, which guests could not stop raving about. And made my vision of the look of the wedding a reality. Her prices are more than fair and she was worth every penny for the stress that she saved me on my wedding day. I was able to really enjoy everything without worrying. My husband asked me who my favorite "vendor" from our wedding was and I responded with Missy. I had a vision of what I wanted my save-the-dates, invitations, and other paper goods to look like and she was able to bring it life (what was created was even better than what I had envisioned). We used Missy and Occasion Creation for our wedding invitations, and EVERYTHING that went into creating our amazing wedding day-- decor, lighting, centerpieces, and much more, including setting up AND tearing down all in the same day!

When we first met with Missy we had an idea of what we wanted for our invitations, but were a little scatter brained as to exactly what style we wanted to go with. Missy was unbelievably patient with us and helped out figure out exactly what we wanted by asking questions and showing us plenty of examples. After numerous e-mails with Missy of her sending us our proofs and making sure everything was just right, we received our invitations and we so happy with the way they turned out! They completely set the scene for our rustic/vintage wedding!

We also used Occasion Creation for the planning of our special day. Again, Missy was incredibly patient and helped us bring our dream to a reality. Her studio is amazing and she can show you examples of pretty much anything that you could ever want for your wedding! Not only was she busy putting together some of our centerpieces, lighting, and other special details, she was also checking in with all of our other vendors to make sure everyone knew exactly where they had to be and when. Coming into our reception and seeing all of our loved ones around such a BEAUTIFUL space was absolutely breathtaking, all thanks to Missy! And, we were SHOCKED to see her at the end of the night starting to tear everything down!

Missy of Occasion Creation is hands down the absolute BEST at what she does. She is fun, hard working, detail oriented, and makes you feel like family when working with her. I recommend her to anyone who is looking for an event planner!

Occasion Creation was one of the best, if not, THE best decision I made for my wedding! I needed someone to do all of the setup and cleanup the day of my wedding at the Westin Convention Center. I was referred to Missy and she was the answer to my prayers! I was so overly impressed with Missy after our first phone call and then our first meeting, she lifted such a huge weight off of my shoulders. She went on to design the most beautiful wedding invitations that exceeded my expectations from inspiration I gathered on Pinterest. She also made all the matching paper products for the ceremony and reception. She used all my decorations and incorporated them so perfectly throughout the space. She went so far above and beyond that she actually walked my ceremony flowers back to the reception since all the roads were closed in Pittsburgh for Pride. She also saved the day by finding and making the arrangements for a chair cover vendor for me when the one I had expected to use was unavailable. I sobbed when I got to see the ballroom for a sneak peak. She is the reason my wedding vision became the wedding of my dreams. Until you experience working with her, you won't understand how impressive she truly is!

Missy was awesome. During the process we had email issues due to the server and missy stayed on top of things to make sure we were receiving emails. The work she did for us was amazingly beautiful. Missy from Occasion Creation helped me design the wedding of my dreams! I wanted a fall wedding theme with subtle hints of Halloween and Missy nailed every detail. She was extremely patient while we went over paper choices for invitations and showed me lots of amazing examples. After the design was finished she created proofs in just a few days. All of our communication was prompt and timely. Our invitations were perfect and we received so many compliments on how beautiful they were. Because we had a Hallo-Wedding, we of course had to have candy! Missy designed a terrifyingly terrific candy table filled with spooktacular treats for our guests! Her glassware was beautiful and the trick-or-treat, love is sweet candy table was a hit with kids and adults. Missy from Occasion Creations was extremely professional, respectful and went above and beyond to make my daughter Bria's wedding perfect! Her added expertise and personal touch made such a huge difference. The quality of her items that we rented were just so gorgeous. Bria came in with all of her plans and ideas and Missy was so creative with everything:) The seating arrangement chart, gift card box, her presentation of our cookies, candies and popcorn sweet treats table were all totally awesome!!! The memorial table, the signage on the cocktail bar were all phenomenal as well. Truthfully, words cannot express my feelings when I walked into the venue and saw her arrangement of everything:) Missy communicated very often and was always willing and able to make modifications when warranted. I feel without her assistance, our wedding would not have been as beautiful. It was a total Pinterest wedding and the so many compliments that I received on how it all was decorated made me so happy! My daughter Bria and I were very glad that we found Missy as our wedding planner, we honestly enjoyed working with her and I would recommend her in a heartbeat to any future bride!

Missy was amazing to work with! I met her early on in the wedding planning process, and just talking to her about my ideas for the special day made me so excited to get planning!

Our invitations were perfect. Missy made proofs and no issue tweaking and changing things to make sure they were EXACTLY what we wanted. We let Missy know our budget, and she did her best to make sure it would work.

The way that she helped us transform our blank canvas venue into the wedding location of our dreams still shocks me. She was so willing to provide decor to add to and supplement the decorations my family and I had made was so helpful. Missy was also a complete BOSS when it came to dealing with my very difficult site coordinator.

I cannot say enough for how she truly helped take my ideas to the next level. I was nothing short of impressed!

I found this company a few weeks before my wedding. I wish I had Missy to work with for the entire wedding. She did my place cards, which were incredible. I rented some frames and mirrors and it was all reasonably priced. Job well done!

Missy was referred to me after I was challenged with another vendor for my wedding invitations and wedding program cover. It was a DIVINE CONNECTION. Missy was amazing and so creative. The experience of design was inspiring and "let's make it work" atmosphere. She captured my vision and created a MASTERPIECE that became the "The Talk" for our special day. Missy was amazing to work with from the start to finish! When we first met, I had different ideas of how I wanted my invitations and she portrayed them better than I could have imagined. Everyone commented on how much they loved my invitations because they were so unique. If you want something that is unique and not like anything else out there, then use Missy! Missy is very meticulous and will work with you to make sure your items are perfect for your special day. From my invitations to my programs and rented décor, I LOVED it all. Missy at Occasion Creation was an excellent event planner and I give her my highest recommendation. She created my Bridesmaids Cards, Save the Dates, Shower Invitations, Wedding Invitations, Completed All Signage for my Wedding, and even Helped to set up my wedding the day of. She also handled all outsourcing to vendors such as table linens. Everything created by Missy was absolutey beautiful and I received complements from many people on the design, uniqueness, and quality. My every request was followed and she ensured my entire wedding year planning flowed and was exactly the way I wanted it. She was an absolute lifesaver with her help on the day of my wedding. Missy at Occasion Creation is great to work with! She created many things for my New Year's Eve wedding and I was very happy with how everything turned out. To start she custom designed my invitations to match the "New Year's" theme (she also created coordinating Thank You cards after the wedding...loved them!). She designed and set up my candy table...the linens and signage matched my colors and the New Year's theme (she even created a cute clock to sit in the middle of the table). My table numbers were champagne bottles and she custom created the labels for them, again to match my colors and theme! She also made my seating chart...and you guessed it...it fit in perfectly with the NYE theme! :) In addition to all of the wonder paper products/signage she created, I also rented a cake and cupcake stand, a card box, and my head table linen from her. I would recommend her for your wedding. She is very creative, kind and great to work with :)

Missy from Occasion Creation did an absolutely phenomenal job on my wedding invitations!! My theme is the orange calla lily. She incorperated that into my invitation so beautifully that it was better than I could of imagined. Her stunning work set the tone for how beautiful the actual day will be. Her quality of service and product was top of the line and couldn't compare to other invitations I've ordered samples from. She was not only extremely professional and talented, but friendly and very easy to work with. She truly cared about delivering what I wanted and helping to make my day and vision come true. I started to receive compliments on the invitations prior to getting the responses back! Missy does excellent work! I would recommend her to anyone who is having a special occasion! She made my invitations as well as decorated my bridal shower. The theme was a love story! The bridal shower was so beautiful it looked like a wedding! I had so many compliments because of her! So of course for my wedding I had her make the invitations. My wedding invitations were so unique and elegant. Many of my guest told me that these were the most beautiful invitations that they have ever seen. Missy provided the escort cards, table numbers and 5 signs for my reception. She was extremely friendly and easy to work with. The cards and signs were exactly how I wanted them to be. Also, I had a last minute name change on the escort cards and she was able to fix it for me they day she was delivering them to the venue! I was so happy that she did this for me and would recommend her to my friends!

I spent a great deal of time doing DIY items for my wedding, but I was stressed out about pulling it all together myself on my wedding day. Missy at Occasion Creations took care of everything. She was able to take the vision that I had in my head, and make it a reality, all while I was getting ready and relaxing for my big day. She was MORE than flexible with me, and always put me at ease. She also did our invitations, programs, escort cards, favor tags, menu tents, and a few other framed signs for the wedding and reception - all of which were beautifully designed, and turned out amazing. EVERYONE LOVED the invitations! I also had SO MANY compliments from our guests about all of the little touches and the details that were added for our big day... thanks to Missy, all of my plans were fully executed. I would hire Occasion Creations again in a heartbeat for another special event. Money well spent!

My friend hired Occasion Creation Designs to help with her wedding design and paper products. During her planning process she kept telling me how wonderful they were and that she highly recommended I use them for my wedding. I had planned on just ordering my invitaitons online and designing the look of my wedding myself until I received my friends invitation and attended her wedding. Everything was absolutely beautiful and I knew I needed to contact Occasion Creation Designs for their wedding expertise. Missy was so wonderful to work with from the beginning. She was very easy to get ahold of and always helpful answering any of my questions or concerns. She will let you use any of the wedding supplies she already has and if you need anything additional she will do the shopping for you! She was even there the day of my wedding to set everything up. I really enjoyed being able to choose the paper for my invitations and what I wanted for my centerpieces. She will let you be as involved as you'd like! After I sent my invitations out, I had many guests call to tell me that they were the most elegant invitations they had ever seen. In conclusion, I highly recommend Occasion Creation Designs if you want a creative eye and a stress-free wedding planning experience.

I had met Missy through an old co-worker years ago. When she got married I was looking through her photos and thought how creative her ideas were and how similar our taste was. Planning my own wedding, I thought I could do it all myself, but was having trouble finding invitations that were more my style, and not SO formal and proper. After a few email exchanges with Missy, she had a whole layout of how my invitations would look. From that point, we would meet and discuss budget, timelines and even other ideas that I had never considered. I had so many compliments on my invitations, saying things like "Received your invite today, it is the most beautiful and elegant invitation that I have ever seen." That definitely made me feel good, as that is the 1st impression of how people perceive what your big day is going to be like. From there, I worked with her on my escort cards, church programs, table numbers, cookie tags and a few signs for the tables. Everything matched and I couldn’t have been happier. She was always a pleasure to work with, where as a lot of the other vendors that I worked with in planning our wedding, were not. Occasion Creation is amazing! I contacted Missy first to help with my sister's bridal shower and we hit it off! She makes you feel so comfortable with her and not once did she complain when I continuously changed my mind. :) Not only did she do the stationary but she did the centerpieces AND EVEN HELPED ME SET UP! Missy is AMAZING & I'm so thankful that i found her. My wedding was approaching and it was very hard to find someone that knew exactly what i wanted and could make as many programs and menus as i needed! When i saw my wedding programs (when Missy went out of her way to meet me at work to ensure i received them prior to the wedding) I couldn't believe how beautiful they were!!!! They were everything I imagined and more!

She mades some tweaks in order to have the pricing where i needed it for my budget- so she works with you to make sure its exactly what you want and within your budget!

We all know in the crazy bride world we email and people don't email you right back and you panic- NOT MISSY I would email her and if she didn't respond right away she would call or text!

Not one complaint.... VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Occassion Creation created all of our paper products for our wedding - invites, table menus, escort cards, programs, bar menus, and favor tags. The final products were professional, beautiful, and exactly what I had in mind! Missy is very flexible and easy to work with. She also was a HUGE help in decorating our reception on the wedding day. Missy and the team at Occasion Creation helped bring my vision to life. We gave her some keywords like art deco, 20s & 30s, Gatsby, etc. plus some of our color schemes... and then we gave her our budget and they turned out the most stunning and unique invitations I could have dreamed of. Everything they create for you is one-of-a-kind so you know that your design is unique to you; and they really help in making sure that you get exactly what you want within your budget. We're still getting compliments about our printed pieces. Missy was truly a pleasure to work with. I felt as though I could text, call or email at just about any hour and she would get back to me. We worked with Missy for both our invitations as well as paper products for the wedding day (programs, table cards, table numbers, signage). Missy had the ability to take our vague description of what we wanted and offer so many great suggestions that we came out with a paper set that we truly loved. When an issue arose with the ink on our printed invitation envelopes that threw our timeline off a bit, Missy did everything she could to correct the issue which included delivering items to my workplace, meeting me half way to pick up items and tying bows on programs for me in the last hours. It was a rare error that came out of the blue but Missy handled it so professionally and I can’t thank her enough for all the hard work she did for us to make sure everything was perfect. Even though the mistake was the fault of her paper provider, Missy returned our printing fee out of the goodness of her heart. We received so many compliments on how stunning our invitations were and that’s a large thanks to Missy for her suggestions and eye for design! She is so personable and makes sure that you get exactly what you want!

Everything turned out absolutely beautiful. I didn't get the reception items (place cards and table numbers) as early as I'd liked and thought I would. I am a very ahead-of-time type person though, so this may not bother others.

Had to use occasion creation with my wedding venue. Had to repeat myself multiple times to get what I needed. Then told the lady that my colors were pink and silver. Got my wedding pictures back to see that she put all of my signs in gold frames...... it looked so stupid. Luckily, I did not see it the day of my wedding. But was VERY upset to see how stupid the gold frames looked in my wedding pictures that I will have forever. The signs were ok, but having to repeat myself and remind them constantly was not ideal when already being stressed about the wedding.

Horrible Company

Worked with this even coordinator about a year ago at an event. Everything went well to my knowledge and the event was a success. Received good feedback and there was no issue. Almost a year later, she reported that my "vibe was off" and made up false information about my performance as a bartender. She said things happened that never did. She waited a year later to file a report, and cost me my job and a loss of income. I would never work with this company again, and she is very unprofessional. She kept making up different things that happened, and they never actually happened.
