Amazing Experience!!

We hired Oakleaf Bakery for our wedding cake! My husband and I met in Boston, and frequented this bakery when we first started dating. There was no question that we wanted an Oakleaf wedding cake, and we certainly made the right decision! Our interactions with Julie, the owner and our cake designer, were efficient and extremely collaborative. The flavors were out of this world amazing, and the cake was the most beautiful cake that we have ever seen. Julie crafted our visions exactly as we had hoped and made our dream wedding cake come to life. The Oakleaf team delivered our cake to the venue on time and displayed it beautifully. Our guests are still raving about how delicious it was. We highly recommend Oakleaf Bakery for all of your events.

Cake was amazing

I've hired this place thrice already. One for my gender reveal, then baby shower and now my cake. I just like the fact that it's so easy to design and customize a cake with them and no headaches in terms of pickup and delivery. You can count on them to deliver with high quality and will look like as you pictured your cake.

Helpful, Attentive, and Amazing Tasty Designs

My husband and I hired Oakleaf after a year search for the perfect bakery to make our wedding cake. We fell in love with Oakleaf for many reasons, their cakes/frostings are delicious, they were able to accommodate for dietary and allergy restrictions, and they were very easy to work with. They made a beautiful two tier wedding cake and 150 cupcakes for our big day and worked with me to create a surprise pokemon grooms cake for my husband. They were helpful and patient when I contacted them for the 3rd time to change cupcake flavors and put together a beautiful display table for the wedding day featuring the cupcakes and cake. Everyone at the wedding loved the cupcakes and asked who our baker was! Cannot recommend Oakleaf highly enough!

We used Oakleaf Cakes for our wedding and were incredibly impressed! The team was very responsive and professional, and the cake and cupcakes were DELICIOUS and absolutely beautiful. The initial "cake tasting" experience was a bit underwhelming, but overall I would highly recommend anyone in the Boston area to work with them. The price was extremely reasonable, and we had so much flexibility with our cake/cupcake flavor combinations, designs, etc. Our guests loved the variety and my husband and I sneak back to Oakleaf's brick & mortar location once in awhile to try new flavors that we didn't have at our wedding. Thank you, Oakleaf!

We had an amazing experience with Oakleaf. They followed my ideas perfectly and created something I couldn't even imagine myself. Not only was our cake beautiful it tasted incredible. Everyone still talks about how delicious the cake was. My favorite part was that I was able to have each tier a different flavor combination. I was so shocked when I saw it because it was better than I dreamed! I'm so happy that we choose Oakleaf.

We are so happy we had Oakleaf make our wedding cake! As with every part of our wedding, we were initially worried about the cost, but after doing some research they turned out to be priced similarly to other bakeries and more than happy to work within our budget on the design. We went in for a consultation and tasting several months before our wedding and were so impressed that we put a deposit down on the spot! We showed them some pictures of what we wanted and they came up with a gorgeous design for an optical-illusion-inspired cake.

Our cake turned out to be the single most-photographed thing at our reception (aside from maybe the bride and groom!). Not only was it beautiful, it was also delicious, and we got many compliments on how good everything tasted! I think many people assume that wedding cakes are usually pretty flavorless, but we knew we made the right choice when we heard our guests say "wow, this tastes like something!” The bakery gives you lots of different options for cake and buttercream flavors (which you get to try beforehand), and they make their own fondant! I am only sad that I got just a few mouthfuls in while people kept coming to talk to me at the end of our reception. I’ll definitely be coming back to the bakery to enjoy some more in cupcake form!

Another plus is that they were very organized, professional, and responsive. Once we had our contract and payment sorted out, it was all in their hands, and they dealt with everything. It makes a huge difference in wedding planning when you have one less thing to worry about!

Our cake was SO good. The tasting was amazing and incredibly helpful, and they were great about customizing to exactly what we wanted. We got so many compliments on how delicious and beautiful our cake was.

Oakleaf made an incredible vegan cake and cupcakes for our wedding for ~65 guests. We had their red velvet cake with coconut frosting and an assortment of their three vegan flavors (chocolate, vanilla, red velvet) for the cupcakes. Everyone really enjoyed them, and many were in disbelief about how good vegan cupcakes could be! Oakleaf delivered and very nicely set up the cake and cupcakes on our cupcake stand and even set up our (homemade) cake toppers for us. We opted for a fairly simple but elegant frosting design for the cupcakes, which worked quite well, especially when set up on the 3-dimensional stand. We also really appreciated their patience answering many questions related to food allergies!

I ordered a simple 7" grab-and-go gourmet red velvet cake over the phone for our wedding (we just needed a small cake to cut and had other desserts out for the guests), it was delicious and not to mention picture perfect! I briefly described what I was looking for (gold to light pink ombré frosting) and wasn't sure how it would look prior to the wedding (since I was planning from out of state) but it's like they read my mind! The cake was simple, elegant and exactly how I had imagined it would look! If you're looking for a beautiful, tastey and budget friendly place for a cake I would definitely recommend this shop!

It was super easy. I was able to do everything online. The cake was both beautiful and delicious! It's the first time I've had fondant worth eating too. I wish I could have gotten a small topsy-turvy cake, but what I got was still beautiful.

Instead of a wedding cake we had cupcakes from Oakleaf Cakes. Oakleaf Cakes did an amazing job! Guests couldn't stop raving about the cupcakes at the reception and days after. The flavors available allow you to create some great flavor combinations that are exciting, not just your typical vanilla cake and vanilla frosting. We had three different flavors. Guests kept coming back for more, I'm glad we followed their recommendation and ordered about 20% more cupcakes than guests. It was the perfect amount.

We had a wedding at Four Seasons, Boston on June 6, 2015. Oakleaf did the best work ever on this cake that we had requested them to make from a picture. It was 5 tiers with cascading purple flowers. Absolutely gorgeous and they exceeded our expectations.

We first came across Oakleaf Cakes when we were living in the area and strolled by one day on our way over to Fenway. We stopped in for some lemonade and a treat, and both were delicious! So, when we started wedding planning, I thought this may be a good place to consider for our cake.

One of my husband’s favorite parts of wedding planning was the tastings, and Oakleaf did not disappoint. They prepared 6 cupcakes for us with different cake and frosting flavors. And we got to try the fondant as well, which was a yummy marshmallow flavor. All of the flavors were delicious, but we settled on a lemon cake with raspberry buttercream frosting. Since we wanted a yellow cake, we also had a layer of lemon buttercream frosting as the outer layer. I had found a picture of a beautiful tiered buttercream ruffle cake online that I presented for inspiration. We were quoted a reasonable price that was within budget. Also, Oakleaf had vegan options, so we ordered 6 cupcakes as well for our vegetarian guests.

We weren’t looking to spend a lot on the cake but we wanted something tasty, and Oakleaf did not disappoint. The cake was beautiful and so yummy. We got so many compliments from our guests. We even enjoyed our top tier on our one month anniversary! Thank you Oakleaf!

Oakleaf cakes was great. So many different flavors to choose from. We did not want to spend a lot of money on our cake, and we didn't have to with them. They made a very simple but elegant cake for us that was delicious. People loved it.

Our wedding cake was AMAZING! Not only was everyone floored by the design and look of the cake - it was really incredibly delicious as well! I still have a few slices in my freezer that we hope to break out during our 1st year anniversary!

We were introduced to Amanda Oakleaf when given a sample cupcake to taste at a wedding vendor showroom in Boston. After looking at her designs online, I contacted the shop to schedule a tasting. The staff was friendly and professional from the moment of contact, all the way through the day of our wedding. Our tasting was DELICIOUS, truly that sealed the deal, cake should taste amazing and hers DOES! But we also really enjoyed the collaboration with Amanda to create the design of the cake, which was really important to me. We both felt that she listened to what we wanted and offered a lot of suggestions to make us feel that our cake would be one of a kind. The finished product was beautiful and as delicious as we knew it would be!

Amanda Oakleaf made a completely custom surprise groom's cake for our rehearsal dinner- it was absolutely spectacular! I brought them a pile of pictures, images, and ideas that represented 28 years of my fiance's life. They were able to create the most amazing and delicious 4 tiered representation- it was beyond anything I could have imagined. Our guests were so impressed and my fiance was blown away. They have such a creative and fun team, they were a pleasure to work with, and they did an incredible job!

We can't say enough good things about the whole experience, and give the highest possible recommendation for anyone who is looking for something memorable, both creative and delicious, NOT the typical tower of bland white fluff. Amanda understood what we were hoping for, and her team created an amazing cake that got a lot of "wows", comments like "best ever", and was even featured in the NY Times' Wedding section on 3/31/13.

There wasn't a spec of cake left. People could not stop talking about the best, moist, delicious cake/cupcake that they ever had at a wedding. We did a carrot cake for our top tier and I cannot stop eating it. It blows any other cake out there. Thank you Amanda!!!!!!

The cake you created for our daughter's wedding surpassed our expectactions. Not only was it a work of art, it was absolutely delicious as well. It looked just like the photo on your website. Many pictures were taken before the cake quickly disappeared. Everyone oohed and aahed over the elegance and wonderful flavor. You delivered it to the restaurant well in advance of the arrival of the guests and it was displayed beautifully. We had to make wedding plans on very short notice and your staff was so helpful. This was no small feat, as you had to work with us long-distance. Thank you for adding so much to such a joyous occasion. Your creativity and attention to detail are unparalleled in our opinion. You are quite simply the best in Boston.

Amanda makes truly delicious cake. Our consultation with her was professional and pleasant, and she understood our needs and ideas perfectly. If you want a cake that looks good AND tastes good, I highly recommend her. Our cake was a three tiered apple and pumpkin cake. It was so moist and yummy that my husband got me a small apple cake from Amanda three months later for my birthday.

Amanda and her team created a stunning, creative and tasty wedding cake for our wedding at the artists for humanity epicenter. She created a visually arresting design based off our invitations that was just out of this world. Some of our guests initially thought it was not a real cake- it looked that unbelievable! It was a very collaborative design process and I appreciated that Amanda had a background in art- it definitely showed when it came to the cake. I also am continuing to get compliments on both the look and taste of the cake. I never thought I'd hear someone say "that fondant was so tasty!" but her homemade marshmallow fondant is pretty awesome and the cake and fillings were delicious. Payment and delivery was seamless- there was a whole team there making sure everything was just right and it was. I am not sure I can wait until our 1 year anniversary to eat the cake we froze....

It's the day after my wedding and before I even finish opening my gifts or start writing the thank you cards, I want to post this review -- I am that impressed!

I chose Amanda Oakleaf Cakes on a complete whim. My husband Ryan is really into cake shows, so I thought it might be kind of cool to leave my comfort zone of the vanilla cake + white icing three-tiered deal and get something a bit different. Ryan and I were getting married at a friend's beach house in Nahant, so we wanted something beach-themed. Amanda had some great ideas. What we ended up with was a massive cake (at least by regular standards) that matched the scenery, our invitations and captured our style. In fact, the sugar replica of Graves Light was completely on point and the figurines of the two grooms (these folks are very same-sex marriage friendly, we were well-treated) were really cute.

Everyone at the wedding raved at how the cake looked and then raved again when they tasted it. The buttercream frosting was so creamy and even better with our graham cracker crumb "beach sand." Both the red velvet cake and the lemon cake (yes, I had two pieces) layers tasted wonderful.

Amanda Oakleaf and team are a very talented bunch. If you want something special to make your occasion even more memorable, I think you should give them a call.

We had Amanda Oakleaf create a cupcake wedding tower for us with a square topper and caricatures of my husband and I on top. They were the most delicious cupcakes/cake I've ever had at any event--and I'm proud to say it was my own. The adorable caricatures were so spot on and so fabulous. The cupcakes were absolutely scrumptious and the entire thing a huge hit. The topper, decorations, and entire cupcake tower were so perfect and so us! They did an amazing job of capturing us and the sentiment we were going for. I should add that all the cupcakes were consumed! Yum!

To anyone looking for the most spectacular wedding cake of their lives, Amanda Oakleaf Cakes delivers. We had two cakes made for our wedding event. One more traditional three-tiered cake and one specialty cake consisting of a scene set in the Grand Tetons National Park with figurines of ourselves, and our two dogs, hiking. Not only was the professionalism beyond appreciated the cakes were better than we could ever have imagined and tasty too! We got so many positive comments on our cakes of guests wanting to know who did them for us and how we found them that we just started handing out Amanda Oakleaf's notecards with the information on them during our reception! I would truely recommend using this vendor to ensure that your wedding cake dreams come true.

The cake Amanda created for us is not your typical wedding cake but rather a piece of art. Besides looking stunning it was extremely delicious. (And fondant is not easy to pull off) We highly recommend her.

My husband and I had some specific ideas in mind for our Red Sox/Yankees themed wedding cake and had struggled to find a baker that could turn our ideas into cake. We met with Amanda and were delighted not only by the taste and quality of her cakes and frostings, but also by her enthusiasm to work with us. The cake turned out amazing and was the talk of the wedding. We wholeheartedly recommend Amanda and her team and will look to her for future cakes as well.

I had Amanda design a custom wedding cake in the shape of an airplane as that's where my husband and I met. You cannot believe this cake, it was amazing! This was a surprise for my husband and he was absolutely blown away as were all of our guests.

It was much more life-like than I ever imagined and it tasted yummy...lemon cake with raspberry merengue. The staff was professional and easy to work with and I would use her again in a heartbeat for any specialty cake needs...birthday, anniversary, etc.

It was hard for me to schedule a tasting as I'm not local and there aren't weekend tastings but Amanda was kind enough to make up a batch of cupcakes in different flavor combinations so we could choose. People are still sending notes about this cake!

Amanda did not make a wedding cake for me, but did design a custom cake for my husband's 40th birthday. He liked it so much he made everyone wait an entire day before cutting in to the cake. The cake design was based on album cover art work for Iron Maiden's Benjamin Breeg Album. I sent her pictures and my ideas for the cake and she made my vision come to life! Our guests were in awe. What an artist! Not only did the cake look amazing, but it tasted wonderful as well! Her cake helped make my husband's birthday party an unforgettable event! I want to get married again just so I can have her design my wedding cake!

I would highly recommend Amanda as a cake provider for any special occasion. Our wedding cake was her unique design, as she listened to what we wanted and came up with a perfect solution. The flavor of the cake was wonderful, and we received many oohs and aahs from guests as to the design and presentation!

Amanda made a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse cake for my sons first birthday, the cake was beautifull and extremely delicious! The details on the cake were amazing, and did I mention delicious?! I contacted Amanda of Amanda Oakleaf Cakes to help me with my daughter Emma's 1st Birthday cake. She was wonderful. We corresponded by email in order to come up with the perfect cake for the party. I was looking for a 3 dimensional cupcake cake and Amanda came through....The cake was so perfect and everyone could not believe how beautiful it was. Definetly a focal point. Also, the cake was delicious!!! The butter cream was the best that I have tasted. I received many compliments on the cake...I would definetly order another cake from Amanda in the future...

Amanda's cake was truly the most exquisite cake I, or any of my guests (per their own awe-struck comments), had ever seen. Actually, Amanda made a cake for my father's 70th birthday party. With less than a week until the event, we contacted Amanda, told her the theme of the party, and she came back with ideas and arranged for delivery. The cake was beautiful and tasted fabulous. Amanda Oakleaf made a custom-designed, three dimensional dragon cake for my boyfriend's birthday party. (It is posted in the "gallery of cakes" section on the front page of her website.

It was exquisitely detailed.

He was very surprised, happy, and touched by it.

Amanda even had it made in his company colors.

The only problem was that he had a very hard time cutting and serving it because he did not want to ruin it. He took about 40 pictures of it and sent them to all of his friends and family.

I've gotten two cakes from Amanda and they were amazing!! I got one a birthtday party and one for a holiday party. The birthday cake was a delicious buttercreme that tasted as good as it looked. All my friends loved the cake, so when the holidays came around, I decided to get another one. Boy oh boy! The cake was red velvet, which was wonderfully moist with a cream cheese frosting in between the layers. MMMMM! Then to top it all of she made a super sweet frosting which was perfect for a holiday party (to keep the party rolling of course!) The frosting was the even better with the homemade marshmallow fandant. I would gladly recommend Amanda Oakleaf Cakes to any of my friends!

I thought the cake we had from Amanda was amazing! I wasn't sure how the colors would turn out but she got it right on. We had Oakleaf Cakes make a wedding cake for us. we did Coconut cake with almond buttercream frosting between the layers. It was amazingly delicious! The only reason I did not give 5 full stars was because the color of the flowers that covered the bottom layer was more peach colored and we had wanted pink, but overall the cake looked amazing, they brought it to the venue with no problems, and it tasted so good!

At what seemed like the last moment, my husband and I decided to have a cake at the wedding. We knew we wanted something small, yet classy. I found Amanda through WeddingWire and could not have been happier! After having some issues with vendors, it was nice to work with a true professional.

Her cakes were beautiful and she was able to create one for us from a photo. It was exactly as we had imagined and she took care of all communications with the on-site coordinator and florist (who had the flowers for the cake), taking some pressure off of my hubby and I.

I would highly recommend Amanda, she was wonderful!

Cake was DELICIOUS, moist, very fresh tasting, and everyone raved about it.
They make there own marshmallow fondant, which was superb, not overly sweet like most. And the icing was so smooth and blended so wonderfully with the cake itself.
Our cake tasting was a lot of fun, and Ms. Oakleaf was entirely pleasant, insightful, and communicative about what she could do and what would work and wouldn't physically.
As far as the design goes...it was not exactly what I thought it was going to look like, however I did say to them when they were very patiently explaining the design that anything was fine, and from the portfolio we trusted them completely. I did connect the design with the rough sketch, and it was very nice, however I feel it was a little pricey for the design we got.
But for the record, it was probably the best tasting cake we have ever had, and we eat a lot of cake. A lot.

Amanda was fabulous. I tried to describe what I was looking for on my cake and she sent over two sketches that same evening. We changed the number of servings later, but she was completely flexible. And the cake was absolutely beautiful. i had so many compliments and the cake was absolutely delcious. She used this marshmallow fondant which was actually tasty. We really wanted a birch tree look wedding cake and reviewed quite a few baker's online portfolios looking for someone who might be able to capture what we were hoping for at a reasonable price (which can prove hard in the Boston area). Oakleaf Cakes was one of the places to get our attention, and they were so quick to respond to our inquiry that we wound up booking our first (and it turns out, only) tasting with them. The flavors were wonderful, the texture rich, and all the staff members we interacted with were very pleasant and professional. I was nervous about having a baker an hour away from our venue delivering the cake, in the winter, but the weather thankfully cooperated and Oakleaf had everything set up and ready to go with time to spare for our florist to add natural flowers to the cake, as planned. My husband and I didn't actually get to see the cake until the reception, and we were definitely in love. After tasting it, the feeling was only strengthened. We're so pleased we chose Oakleaf Cakes for our big day and would gladly recommend them.

Our cake ended up being one of my favorite parts of our wedding! When we walked into the venue and I saw it for the first time, I think I squealed with delight.

We did a tasting/consultation in advance (and we actually had two separate appointments because we wanted to try the funfetti cake and trust me – it was worth it!) and ended up going with a four layer cake for our wedding of about 120 guests (we had estimated high at 150 before we got our RSVPs back).

Our flavors were funfetti (SO GOOD) and vanilla and we chose a mix of lemon, raspberry and blueberry icing and vanilla fondant. Thankfully, our wedding coordinator sent us back to the hotel with a sampling so we could try each and every flavor combo (since it’s really true that you barely eat at your own wedding!). It was EXACTLY what we wanted!

We saved and froze the whole top layer and I’m already looking forward to eating it on our anniversary.
Worth noting, we also got an assortment of vegan cupcakes for a couple of our dairy free guests and they were also a huge hit! The bakery itself is so cute and they have a delicious variety of pastries, cupcakes and coffees.

Amanda Oakleaf was a breeze to work with. The entire staff was incredibly accommodating, helpful and responsive. The cake was absolutely gorgeous - better than we imagined. Everything from the tasting to the day off was hassle free and so simple. We went with 3 flavors. 2 out of the 3 did not get very good reviews with our guests. The guests said that the red velvet and mexican chocolate were very dry. We have a full tier of the lemon raspberry at home and thought that was delicious. Ultimately, we would use them again as we were most concerned with the design - which was perfect.

The cake itself was lovely and very cool looking, though not exactly the right colors. I did receive many compliments on the look of the cake. The cake did not taste as fresh as it had in the tasting, though it was still good, not great. The cake was delivered much earlier than I had told it would be, which would have been okay, except no one was prepared for it to arrive that early and it was placed in the wrong spot and needed to be moved causing problems.

My husband and I decided to have an nontraditional cake presentation for our wedding. Instead of one large cake to be cut and serve all of our guests, we decided to have a small cake on each guest table. We always noticed at other weddings that when the cake is finally cut and served, everyone is dancing and I never wanted to leave the dance floor to enjoy the dessert. We figured this way, our guests could enjoy the dessert when they pleased.
That being said, we needed to order 16 cakes! During the tasting process, Oakleaf was far and beyond our favorite. They offered the most unique and delicious flavors and we were immediately impressed (and we tasted a lot of cake!). We placed the order and discussed the design and cost. Their bakery manager (if you can even call him that) was incredibly difficult to communicate with and our desires did not seem to be received clearly. I ended up going back into the store a few times to talk face to face which helped but I was so busy planning the whole wedding that it really was a burden to me. My suggestion: hire a designated manager to handle large orders for weddings or other events.
Even after all the issues we had, Oakleaf did an amazing job on the day of our wedding. Everything was delivered on time, looked amazing and everyone said it was some of the best cake they have ever had at a wedding.

I wish I could give them a glowing review but I just can't. First and foremost, the cake and cupcakes were delicious and all of our guests loved them. The main problem that I have is with the service that we received. We ordered 110 cupcakes in four different flavors and a square top tier that would fit on a 10" cake stand that my husband I could cut into. We showed Amanda a picture of a cake that had a fondant design that looked like lace and was elevated on the cake stand because it had fondant points on the bottom that hung down (the best way I can describe it is that it looked like a bunting pulled straight). When we showed Amanda the photo she pointed at it and said "Is this the part that you really like?" and we told her yes. In all honesty it was the ONLY design option that we asked for with the cake and the cupcakes. The Sunday before the wedding I got a phone call at 5:55pm from someone named Tim calling to go over some things in the contract. In the message he says "We close in 5 minutes so unless you get this message right away give us a call on Tuesday because we are closed on Mondays." My question is this: if you have to go over some details with a bride WHY would you call her right as you are about to close and WHY did you wait until the last second? Shouldn't this phone call have happened a week earlier? I called him back on Tuesday and he is going over the details and he has it all wrong. he is talking about a round cake that will feed 10 people and 100 cupcakes. Wrong wrong wrong. I went over what everything was supposed to be and I thought it was all set.So the wedding day is here! I walk in to the dining room before the ceremony and the cake is missing the one design aspect my husband and I asked for - the points on the bottom of the cake. The fondant design is also all wrong - it looked like flowers, not lace. They are giving us a $100 gift card, but it was disappointing to have gone over all the details many times and still have it be wrong.

Did not get a wedding cake but would like to warn others before choosing this vendor. Ordered a cake and they delivered it with a hole in the topper's forehead and the cursive in the front was slanted. Owner said there's nothing wrong with it and that because it's food that there will be imperfections. You can see that the hole was made prior to delivery in their cake gallery. I don't see how anyone would have been okay with this. How come they couldn't just fix it before being delivered? They refuse to discount the cake for me since it's obvious they made a mistake that they won't admit to. She has a roundabout way of apologizing by saying she's sorry you feel that way but not actually apologizing for ignoring the hole prior to delivery and having a crooked sign. I did not ask for a full refund but this is not $500 quality work.
