Before our wedding I heard many people say, "You'll never look at your wedding photos again," or express some kind of disappointment with how their photos turned out. I can honestly say that we love our wedding photos and feel very grateful to have had the opportunity to work with Nilo on our special day. Nilo did such a wonderful job capturing, not only the details of our wedding, but who we are as a couple and the emotions that we felt on our wedding day. Not only is Nilo professional responsive, and easy to work with, but she is also very kind and will definitely feel like a member of the family but the end of the day! -

the best photographer. Got some candid shot of everyone which showed how much everyone enjoyed it. She was definitely in the moment and alert and was ready for the group shots. -

Nilo Burke of Still Impressions was awesome! We absolutely love the way the photos turned out but even more we loved the way Nilo interacted with our kids. She came to take pictures of our newborn but my four year old was so taken by her that we got amazing shots of him too! I would recommend her to anyone who wants great photos and a great photo session. -

Nilo Burke, owner of Still Impressions is so very talented. She had such an eye for props and scenery that would make for excellent photos. She was also so much fun to work with and we had such a great time. I would definitely recommend her as a top photographer. You will not be disappointed! ! ♡ -

Nilo did a photo shoot of my 16-year-old daughter in downtown Fredericksburg. She took the time to get to know her and see her personality and chose photo locations based on that. The shoot was a lot of fun, and the pictures were absolutely beautiful. Not your run of the mill photographer! -

She captured our Henna Night and then came the Wedding! Everything happened so fast during my wedding that it was all such a blur but thankfully Nilo was there to capture so many great moments and memories. Looking at the photos feels like we’re reliving our wedding all over again and only a talented photographer can do this. So if you are looking for a great photographer, then look no further. Nilo is the right person for any event because she really listens and she enjoys what she does. Nilo is personable and answers all questions posed to her. She walked us through everything from the start and made us a part of her process. The results are stunning and incredible. No emotion, no expression, no moment went un-captured and that’s more than what we asked for. My husband and I now have a true testament of our day and more than 2000 photo-treasures. We are so happy we chose Nilo and I refer her to everyone and anyone!! Thank you once again Nilo!! -

Nilo photographed my friend and me before we headed off to a Pakistani wedding, dressed in traditional saris. She was punctual, professional, and a total pleasure to work with. She returned the pictures to us within a reasonable time frame and they came out astonishing. I definitely recommend her for events of all kind! -

Nilo demonstrated professionalism and excellence from beginning to end. She photographed me and a friend of mine, before we attended a wedding ceremony. Nilofar was there when we were getting ready, capturing little moments like putting on earrings, to adding last minute touches to our dresses. She showed creativity when directing our poses together and alone. Nilo took direction very well and responded to what we envisioned. All the beautiful details of our sarees were photographed creatively. The end product received wonderful feedback from friends and others on the facebook community. We were very pleased with everything Nilofar had done for us. She is very special and talented. I am looking forward to working with her at our next event! -

My (now) husband and I worked with Nilo recently for our engagement and wedding photos. We got engaged Jan. 24 of this year and were planning the wedding for early this summer and knew that we had a short amount of time to get things done. After reviewing countless photographers on wedding websites, I found Nilo and asked my mom for her opinion (she loves photography and I knew would help me choose a good quality photographer). We both loved Nilo's photographs on her website, (plus she was running a special for free engagement photo's!! which was just an awesome extra perk!!) so I contacted her and she responded right away!! The next thing I knew we were setting up a time for engagement photos! Our wedding was such a whirlwind but Nilo was great and SUPER flexible with mine and my husbands schedules! We only had a window of about 3 weeks to do engagement photos due to work schedules, work being done on my rings and travel, but she helped us make it work! Nilo also worked with me to get the engagement pictures to me VERY quickly (within 2 weeks) in order for me to do a photo guest book in time for the wedding! She has a great personality, makes you feel comfortable, has great communication (every single interaction was so friendly and positive!!) and is so easy to work with! She took photo's of our rehearsal and had lots of idea's for great pics throughout everything!! For a wedding picture she told my husband and his groomsman to "get crazy/weird", I'm not sure she was expected the response she got! I cannot wait to see the wedding pictures, my husband is not a fan of having his picture taken but he has brought up on multiple occasions things he remembers from taking pictures at the wedding, which is makes me so happy. :-)
Overall our experience with Nilo was great and I would love to work with her again on another event!!! -

Nilo was my photographer for my wedding and my engagement pictures, she arrived early in the morning to ensure she captured my big day from start to finish and she didn't leave until the last few guests did. She is not only an excellent photographer, she was so personable and creative as well. I was looking through my photos recently and I am so thankful that she was so thorough and she captured details that I had forgot or did not seen on our wedding day. The day goes by so fast and I was not able to see all the aspects of my wedding but Nilo had it all on film and beautifully done. I would HIGHLY recommend her for you day and the pricing is priceless for what you receive in the end. I have since used her for my family photos as well. I can't thank NIlo enough! -

When my husband and I found out we were pregnant, we knew that eventually we would want Nilo to take our maternity pictures. Being pregnant, sometimes it's hard to feel beautiful. Nilo made me realize just how beautiful I could be as a pregnant woman. The pictures she took of us were fabulous, and I can honestly say I've never felt better about myself than when looking at those pictures of me and my husband. That feeling is priceless. -

I was very happy with the photos from photographer Nilo Burke. Before the wedding date, she had met with me so that we could talk about what kind of photos I wanted. During this meeting, she also went to the venue (which was at a park) with me so that we could share and establish poses and backgrounds for the photos.
On my wedding day, Nilo arrived to take pictures of me getting ready before the wedding. She took photos of my shoes, my jewelry, my veil, my bouquet, and everything else she could take pictures of! During the wedding, she was there every moment following me and my groom around so she could capture every moment. I wanted a lot of pictures of me and my husband and she did just that! She made sure to take pictures of the food, desserts, decorations, flowers...anything I could think of!
Nilo told me about her passion for capturing the most important day in a woman's life and it was touching. She did just that and I was blown away by the photos! She told me she went into the photography business because it makes her happy to take a beautiful picture that will be remembered forever. She's a wonderful person to work with. She's very professional in that she is honest and direct. She's very flexible (she even helped me during the unexpected when the park shelter was flooded with water). She is responsive and delivered me the pictures on the day she had promised. I would recommend Nilo because she's got creative poses/ideas and she's got a lot of passion that drives her to take beautiful photos. -

Excellent Photographer with Great Value!
My mom used to do competitive ballroom as a hobby, and her first teacher just so happens to be the husband of one of Nilo’s good friends and muses. We saw her in action years ago at their wedding. I had already done a lot of research before reaching out to Nilo for my own wedding. She sent us a package in the mail with her brochures and more information. Just the way she packaged everything was enough for me to know she was the right photographer. She used beautiful tissue paper and ribbons. It was so lovely and thoughtful, and she hadn’t even taken a snap!
Our engagement shoot was in November around Thanksgiving at a park in Alexandria. The morning of was a Murphy’s Law situation. We were unprepared and rushing to get everything we needed. We had a themed wedding, which of course meant we had a themed engagement shoot. The second Nilo started taking pictures, all the stress from our crazy morning melted away. She made shooting in the cold fun, and I am NOT a cold weather person! By the end my husband and I were barely able to keep the snot from getting all over our faces (we were so unprepared we didn’t have tissues!) and we were still having fun. We got our online gallery soon after and we loved every picture. They were all so gorgeous!
I think I threw a lot at Nilo over email with different Pinterest ideas and changing schedules, but she handled everything with grace. We ended up with almost 2,000 shots which I find is unheard of. A lot of the other photographers I was looking at gave less photos but charged thousands more! Timing was definitely an issue for us. We had a guest have a medical emergency during cocktail hour, which set everything back almost an hour. At the last minute I decided to have Nilo start earlier in the day, which meant she had to leave before the end of the reception. Time is a hot commodity for brides! We missed a lot of shots I wanted because there just wasn’t enough time, my vision for specific ideas was not communicated well enough, people were too scattered, or we just plain forgot. We had contracted Nilo to stay until 9:00, and at 9:15 she was asking us if we needed any more shots. By that point my brain was so fried, I wasn’t thinking clearly. It wasn’t until we got the photos that we saw we missed two major portraits. I don’t blame Nilo at all. Again, she kept asking and advising through out the night. We just didn’t think about it at the time. My mom pointed out one of the shots we missed, and Nilo was more than willing to accommodate us with a free parent album. Working with Nilo was a dream, and her work is phenomenal! I am sure we will use her skills again in the future! -

Nilo was fantastic. She came recommended from another photographer who was WAY out of our price range. Nilo is possibly the sweetest person ever born. I'm a very awkward poser so she did a trial session with us so we would get comfortable. She showed up on time and she got along wonderfully with all my family and friends. We ended up hiring a second photographer for an extra $200 so that we could have someone work with the boys getting ready and Nilo was great directing her on everything. Really happy with the resulting photos too. Haven't gotten the black & whites or flash drives yet (wedding was 10.15.16, I took awhile to post this!) but the photos on the website are SOOO beautiful!!! Really happy with Nilo and the photos, would definitely recommend her! -
