As a planner myself, I was worried I wouldn’t be able to find someone who could truly take work off my shoulders but from our very first call, Nikki and I instantly clicked. She is incredibly quick, professional, flexible, and genuinely kind. Throughout the entire process, she consistently went above and beyond to accommodate my needs, including our financial limits, and I always felt supported and understood.
I’ll honestly miss interacting with her. Our wedding was an absolute success, and so much of that is thanks to Nikki’s expertise and care. I highly, highly recommend working with her. -

This is one of the easiest reviews I can write and easily 5 stars. I hired Nikki towards the end of wedding planning and I am SO thankful I did. She was a pleasure to work with, answered all of our questions, and helped us through our vision. Beyond that, she was AMAZING day. Our wedding day the most special day of our lives and I truly believe that was because of Nikki. She coordinates with vendors so everyone is on the same page, executed every detail perfectly, and looked out for us throughout the day. I would recommend Nikki to anyone and I am so grateful I had the opportunity to work with her! -

It would be impossible to find a wedding planner that does a better job than Nikki! My husband and I got married in October of this year, and Nikki helped us make the wedding day absolutely perfect. We hired her last year in the summer, even before we were engaged, because we knew we wanted her to be the one helping us plan our wedding. She also worked as the wedding planner for my sister’s wedding a few years back, so we already knew how amazing she was to work with. After having my own experience with planning and working with Nikki, I could not give a more stellar review of how it is to have Nikki on your team. Throughout the whole planning process, which for us spanned a little over a year, Nikki was always available to chat, bounce ideas, give suggestions, talk through problems, and recommend other vendors. She gave us recommendations for videographers, hair and makeup, and a DJ, and they were all the best people to work with. I would run so many decisions by her, whether it be in picking decorations, deciding setups for flowers, orders of events, and so much more. She always had suggestions for any of my questions, and her vast experience in wedding planning speaks for itself. She knows how everything should happen and when, and who should be where when it needs to be done. Nikki also helped coordinate all of our vendors for the wedding day, making sure to stay in contact with them to ensure that everyone was set for arrival and knew where and what they needed to do. She worked with our venue’s coordinator as well on the day of the wedding and made sure everything was in place and on time. I gave her boxes of decorations and miscellaneous items with limited instructions for setup, and she set everything up in our reception hall just beautifully. My stress was so minimal on the day of our wedding because I knew Nikki was on top of everything, and if anything was to go wrong, she would know how to fix it. Seriously, every part of the day turned out exactly how we envisioned, and we have Nikki to thank for it. She is so sweet and understanding, and it is obvious that she places top priority on making your wedding day perfect for you. She goes above and beyond wedding planner expectations and treats you like family. I would HIGHLY recommend Nikki for any wedding planning - she is the best at what she does! -

Nikki was one of the first vendors I purchased for my wedding in August and I could not have been happier with it! I had her with me for most of my engagement period and day-off, I couldn't have done it without Nikki and her team! Talking to Nikki for the planning process was like talking to a friend and it completely took the weight of wedding planning off of my plate. I highly recommend using Nikki Johns Events for all things wedding!! -

We had Nikki help us from the start of our planning since we were living out of the state for the first 6 months of planning. She did an absolute awesome job at communication, identifying our style, and anticipating needs. It made the process so much more manageable and decreased our stress levels significantly. Her persistence with making sure vendors were on the same page made our life easy throughout the weeks coming up to the wedding. As for the wedding day it went off without a hiccup and it was better than we could have imagined. Her services are a GREAT deal for the money. Thank you Nikki. -

Nikki and Callie were amazing day of coordinators for my wedding in June! Our day would not have been the same without them. The coordinator we planned to use canceled on us with 3 weeks to go, so we reached out to Nikki as she had such great reviews. Nikki is organized, speedy, and a joy to work with. I cannot recommend her and her team enough! -

Highly recommend!
My husband and I got married at the Eastern in Detroit in late August and Nikki was our wonderful wedding planner and coordinator. We have absolutely no idea what we would have done without the help of Nikki and her team throughout the process. From the very start, she was extremely helpful, professional, and organized. She was knowledgable about all aspects of wedding planning and helped with selecting a venue, communicating with our vendors, developing a budget, and orchestrating events on the day of our wedding. She made sure that the day went off without any problems and rearranged the entire venue from a ceremony space to reception space during our cocktail hour. Working with Nikki put our minds at ease as she was there every step of the way, and we would highly recommend working with Nikki and her team. -

Nikki was absolutely amazing to work with. We hired Nikki for month of coordination and it is one of the best decisions I made when planning my wedding. The day of the wedding, everything felt so seamless and I have Nikki and her team to thank for that. We had heard that the Shinola Hotel tends to be a very tricky layout for vendors so I was so impressed with the way Nikki handled everything from preparation to execution. I cannot recommend her enough for your next event!!! She truly brought my fairytale wedding to life! -

I can't write enough amazing things about Nikki and her team! & yes, TEAM! I had 3 coordinators on-site on my wedding day to help! Amanda, the lead coordinator, was great and she knew when to bring things to me and when to go to my bridal party. I hired Nikki for her month of coordination and didn't know what to expect. I had my few calls with her before the month-start and she help me realize all of the little details I hadn't thought of yet! I really appreciated that I could meet with her for advice outside of "month-of." Then once the final month hit, Nikki was on it! Emailing all of my vendors, coordinating final tasks & asking questions I hadn't yet asked! I didn't realize how involved she would get and how much I would need her help! She was punctual and kept me in the loop on everything happening!
Now for my day-of: My shuttle service I originally booked did not show up to pick me and my bridesmaids up to take us to the venue at 1pm! I had another shuttle service at 2:25pm & ~4:15pm to take family & guests so it was crucial I find another service. I tried to handle it myself which was really stressful, but then I contacted Amanda ~1:30pm with the problem & in LESS THAN 30MIN, Nikki was able to book a new shuttle service that was able to arrive to the hotel in time to pick up my family at 2:25pm!! Being able to trust Amanda and Nikki to handle everything on my wedding day made it so much more enjoyable. I don't know what I would have done if I didn't have them to help me.
If you are on the fence about a coordinator or debating between possible vendors, I urge you to hire Nikki Johns Events!! -

My husband and I THANKFULLY hired Nikki for our beautiful wedding day on June 4th! Nikki and her team were absolutely amazing and super helpful! All of our pre-wedding sessions were informative and helped put our minds at ease with all the stress that comes with planning a wedding. She even followed up with us the next day with kind congratulatory words and to make sure everything was perfect! We can’t say enough great things about Nikki! Not only did she help us plan our dream wedding, but she did all of it during the chaos of covid and having to postpone our big day. Nikki was with us every step of the way through planning from recommending and booking vendors to making a specific wedding day timeline, which made the process so much smoother and less stressful. We knew she wouldn’t let us miss any important details! In addition to all of the planning, Nikki was the ultimate source of calm, confidence, and reassurance on wedding day! Having Nikki and her team there allowed us to be truly present and enjoy the day without having to worry about anything else. Our day could not have gone more perfectly, and we truly have Nikki and her team to thank for this. Working with Nikki was truly a pleasure from the initial email and meeting all the way through the wedding & reception over 2 years later! (Covid led to a 1 year postponement). She’s genuine, caring, responsive and professional! As the mother of the bride & a type A personality, I needed Nikki to help make the planning & execution less stressful & more enjoyable. She was willing & able to help with anything & everything from researching venues & vendors, booking & attending appointments, arranging hotel blocks & shuttles, and making every little detail of the ceremony & reception absolute perfection! I know many brides are on the fence of hiring a coordinator, and let me tell you, PLEASE do it and hire this amazing woman! Nikki was truly a god-send to me! She not only gave me suggestions for vendors but helped with my time-line, mentioned things to me that I would have completely forgotten about, and my wedding day absolutely stress-free. Our wedding was outside, big tent, backyard, so all of our vendors were brought in. Nikki did all of the communication with them on that day, set up my tables, decor, had my timeline and songs nailed down. Honestly, I didn't worry about a damn thing- even through the flash floods and tornado warnings! She made it work and we had the best time of our lives! Our guests were never waiting around wondering what the next thing was going to be and I think that is one of the most important aspects to a wedding; all because she had her stuff together and kept things moving! You'll want her, trust me! Thank you Nikki!! -

The absolute best!
Words cannot begin to describe what a blessing it was to have Nikki as our wedding planner! From the initial meeting to our wedding day, Nikki played a huge role in making our planning both fun and stress-free. She was so invested in my now-husband and I as a couple and truly wanted to make our day the absolute best in could be. Our wedding day ended up being quite different being that it was in the middle of a pandemic; however, Nikki was so helpful and supportive during the constant change and uncertainty. She was consistently in contact with our vendors and made us aware of any and all updates. Not only that, she was so encouraging and understanding when we ended up having to cancel our reception and have a very small, intimate ceremony at my parents’ house instead. Regardless, her kind heart, positive attitude, and incredible organization skills made our day absolutely perfect and something we wouldn’t change for the world. If you are looking for a wedding planner, look no further because you have found the PERFECT person! :) -

When we set out to plan our wedding, we had initially planned to have a family member or friends do the day-of coordination. As we planned the wedding more and more we realized how stressful and impossible this would be. When we started to look for a wedding coordinator, we were immediately smitten by Nikki’s expertise, professionalism, and infectious enthusiasm. We immediately knew she was the right person to help make our perfect day come to life.
Even though we only hired her for day-of coordination services, Nikki was always available for questions, advice, and a comforting shoulder to lean on. Every time we got off of the phone with Nikki, or left a meeting with her, my wife and I would look at each other and let out a sigh of relief. We knew that we were in good hands.
When the day of the wedding came, Nikki and her partner Shay were amazing. They had every single detail prepared and planned down to the tee, and they made sure everything was perfect even when things had potential to go wrong. Before we were even introduced to her, Shay was straightening out my wife’s veil and fixing her hair. During the first dance, I hadn’t realized I had frosting on my sleeve, and before anyone could notice, Shay swooped in and wiped my sleeve down as fast as lightening and made it so somehow nobody noticed her.
Nikki Johns and her team are miracle workers and will make your wedding as magical as you always dreamed it would be. -

Nikki Johns Events made planning our Eastern Market wedding a simple and enjoyable experience for us. Overwhelmed by choosing a venue that required us to bring in everything from outside vendors and both of us having demanding work schedules, we decided that it would be best to work with a wedding planner. And we're so happy that we choose Nikki Johns Events to help us.
Knowing that most people find planning a wedding stressful and time-consuming, I was surprised by how easy working with Nikki Johns Events made the process. Nikki has a pragmatic approach in her planning and a thorough system for making sure all details are covered. With a few in-person meetings and emails, Nikki helped us bring the wedding we were imagining to life. The best part is we were still able to do the things that we found fun about planning a wedding and leave the more tedious tasks to Nikki.
The day-of coordination was executed exactly as discussed and exceed our expectations. It was so nice to enjoy the morning of the wedding day with our family and friends knowing that all of the set-up was being handled for us. The professionalism of the Nikki Johns Events staff continued throughout the evening, from handling any unexpected challenges that popped up to making sure the ceremony ran smoothly. It really made us feel like our only responsibility was to have fun and celebrate!
I would highly recommend budgeting for a wedding planner for your wedding, specifically Nikki Johns Events. You'll be investing a lot of money into one day of your life, so it's important that you not only enjoy that one day to the fullest, but the process of getting to that day as well. I know that Nikki Johns Events will do that for you.

Nikki was the first wedding planner I called shortly after I got engaged, we immediately clicked but I felt I needed to still call around. I should've just trusted my intuition. When we discussed what I needed she suggested I get the all-inclusive wedding package. I was hesitant because of the price, but Nikki said two things that sold me. She said with this package it was "whatever you need, I got you" and then I asked if she offered a military discount. She immediately said yes, being married to a firefighter she could appreciate our military. Nikki wasn't lying when she said she was there for me for whatever I needed. Living in D.C. and planning a wedding in Detroit, it was important for me to make sure that all my trips back to Detroit were as productive as possible. She would give me a list of all the things I needed to take care of, visited all the vendors with me or for me if I wasn't around, and overall just helped to ease my stress when I felt overwhelmed. Most importantly Nikki was honest, she would tell me if she felt a quote was too high and would shop around to make sure I got the best prices. Her attention to detail is top notch, helped me with everything and things I didn't know I needed, can't recommend Nikki enough.

Nikki and her team were amazing! We had a quite the celebration with 2 ceremonies a lunch and traditional reception as well as a rehersal dinner the evening before and everything went smoothly thanks to Nikki! When we first spoke she mentioned she had never done an Indian wedding before but was willing to learn and do what it took - she more than delivered! She not only made sure the day ran smoothly and on time, she took care of the little things and put us, our families, and bridal parties at ease. I only wish I had hired her earlier in the planning process!
