Nicki is wonderful! Not only is she talent and fun, she is passionate and warm and can make anyone feel comfortable in front of a camera. She shot our rehearsal dinner and wedding and I can't get over how incredible the photos are. She was a saving grace during the planning period and on the day itself she made me and my husband feel so comfortable. Not only did she capture our wedding perfectly, she also somehow managed to navigate my big messy family and get them in line. It was truly remarkable. I cannot recommend Nicki enough! We are so thankful for her and her passion for capturing the most special day of a couple's life! -

Engagement Photos
Nicki is not only the sweetest person ever, she is an absolutely INCREDIBLE photographer. We are still so obsessed with our engagement photos, they are more beautiful than we ever could have expected.
Nicki came all the way from Richmond to DC to shoot our photos at 7am. She is wonderful at giving directions and made us feel so comfortable. We could not be happier with our choice.

Not only do I absolutely adore the bridal portraits that Nicki took and will treasure them forever-Nicki was an absolute joy to work with. She made me feel beautiful and made the picture taking process such a breeze and so much fun! I can't express how much I loved working with her. In fact, I've gone back to her again and again and gotten her to photograph both myself and my husband on many occasions since and I have been so pleased! Nicki did an amazing job with our wedding. From our engagement session months in advance, to our photos of getting ready, the venues, and the ceremony and reception, Nicki captured the most beautiful moments that will forever remain with us.
She is just the right blend of kindness, artistic flair, and talent. She has the warmest personality, a beautiful and good heart, and her eyes and hands work together to frame the most beautiful shots. I am so happy with her work, I would continue to recommend Nicki to my friends and I will continue to work with her in the future for any photos we want. True Professional
Nicki did an outstanding job and made the whole experience easier than less stressful than I thought it would be. She was pregnant during the time of some our photos, and when she wasn’t able to make one of our appointments, found another excellent photographer to step in. There were no delays or setbacks, the communication with her was excellent, and I would hire her again if I were to ever need a photographer for another event.Nicki Metcalf Photography's reply:

Niki Sent on 09/20/2018Nicki was a dream to work with. From our first glance at her online portfolio, we were captivated by her documentary style and the way she captured the energy of each shot, both in black and white and in color.
We connected quickly and easily with Nicki first over a FaceTime call, and then by email and text. She was super sweet, extremely responsive, asked great questions and was flexible and compassionate when we the weather forced us to change our venue at the 11th hour to a place none of us had been before. She didn’t miss a beat and scoped out a new first look spot and set up the space for our family portraits.
We are super pleased with our engagement photos where she guided us in posing as well as captured our natural style, and shot a few fun ones where we were dancing. She also shot our rehearsal dinner and turned the photos around quickly! We are so thrilled with those and know that if they’re an indication of the wedding pics, we are going to love them!! We cannot wait to see the full online gallery, and are so excited for her to create our bound wedding album.

I really cannot say enough good things about Nicki. Her photos are BEAUTIFUL. She really has a way of capturing the essence of a personality. But even more than her ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS PHOTOS, working with Nicky was a PURE GIFT! She had my back, and regularly went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable, my husband was comfortable, and that we were getting exactly what we asked for. Nicki is exactly the kind of person you want in the mix of your family/friends/wedding party. She may be tiny, but that girl can wrangle any crowd. She gets it done and you will have a BLAST working with her. She will also make you feel like the most beautiful human in the world. Nicki is one of the best gifts you can give yourself on your wedding day! Seriously! Nicki was newly pregnant at our FREEZING OUTSIDE WEDDING/RECEPTION and handled herself like a BOSS! Karyn Sent on 12/27/2017When I first heard of Nicki Metcalf it was as a referral from my wedding hair and makeup stylist, Emily Artistry. Nicki Metcalf photography was an excellent choice for our wedding and engagement photography. Nicki is extremely artistic and has an excellent eye for balance in each photos composition. She caught stunning images in the most difficult lighting situations and we could trust her on all levels: discretion, talent, thoroughness, fairness, timeliness among other things. Nicki was patient, kind and a delight to work with. She really congealed with the whole wedding party and we all enjoyed the photography process which was swift and seamless.
When I think back to my wedding and engagement shoot, my memories are gladly accompanied by the images that Nicki and her husband captured for my husband and I on those days. My husband and I are so blessed by the countless artistic and sentimental photos that Nicki was able to give to us. She's fantastic. Love LOVE Nicki and her work!!
Nicki is not only an incredibly talented photographer but she is a joy to be around!! She is energetic, fun, bubbly and really creates such a pleasant experience in working with her. She knows what poses and angles will reflect well through photographs and makes sure to create beautiful imagery. We loved working with Nicki and cherish the photos she took of our wedding! So Thankful for Nicki!
My husband and I are so grateful for Nicki! From our engagement photos, our wedding, and now our newborn/family photos she has helped us capture some of the most meaningful moments in our lives. She is so patient, understanding, and talented. She really listens to what your vision is and finds a way to make it happen. She is also excellent at dealing with difficult family situations. This was so key to our wedding! I cannot stress enough how thankful my husband and I are for Nicki—she is such an incredible photographer and artist! You simply won’t regret booking her. -

Nicki was AMAZING and so were all of her photos of our wedding. We ended up booking her 2 weeks out from our wedding because our previously booked photographer went AWOL. I wished we had found her from the very beginning. I really appreciated her organization, especially compared to the first photographer, and she worked with us a bit on pricing. She even got our photos to us way earlier than she said she would, which was awesome. Also, don't be fooled by her size, she knows how to get a big rowdy group together in a flash and knows how to put her foot down when it's necessary! I have had the pleasure of admiring Nicki’s photography for many years and you know what I LOVED about her photos? She captured people… the glint in their eyes, the curves of their smiles, their hidden beauty sometimes unseen by the rest of the world. Sure, many photographers can snap your posed and group shots, but Nicki captures beauty, captures that perfect moment in time, captures what is sometimes missed in the busyness of the day. It’s like she has the ability to slow time down to an exact moment and capture what no one else is able to see. Then she shares her gift with the world, and it is… gorgeous, stunning, and breathtaking! She made my wedding day easy and effortless. We had a small hiccup in getting her items for the flatlay (our mistake, not hers) and she rolled with it, still got pictures that were needed and I was the oblivious bride, able to enjoy the day, detail and stress free! We even had the awkward separated family photos but she was kind and sensitive to the needs of all the family members. Communication is easy, turnaround is fast and website for photos is user-friendly. Highly recommend this investment into your big day! -
