Great rental policies and great service! Good options too!!! Very flexible and helpful! Shayla, who helped us the first time we went in, was very good at not putting on the pressure to buy and did a great job of guiding us through the process (which we had no idea about).

Shout out to Outstanding Employee

We worked with Ryma at the Portland store to purchase a tux. As the owner of a small business for many years, I was VERY impressed with Ryma. Not only did she know her stuff (she has a background in tailoring) but she made a point of welcoming each person who entered the store even though they were short staffed. When she had a free moment as customers were in the dressing room, she stayed busy restocking and arranging displays (great work ethic!)

While we were there, as customer came in who had a problem with their order. She led with empathy and assured them that they would make it right and immediately started problem solving. I watched her deliver outstanding customer care in a situation that could have gone south quickly.

I hope her supervisors see this and give her the recognition she deserves.

Fantastic service

My now-hubby recently utilized Mr. Formal Portland for our wedding and rented four suits for himself and three groomsmen. The customer service was great and everyone we interacted with in the shop made our lives easier as we got everything taken care of for the wedding. The staff were super accommodating with measurements for groomsmen who were either out of state or in another city and the measurements came out great! Only concern on our end was that the hemming for my hubby’s pants were quite deep and evident from the outside (which could have been his desperate need for a 38x29 due to having short legs). Thanks for getting my hubby and his guys set up for the big day!

Wonderful customer sevice

Mr. formal has always been my go to for dances and events but when it came to getting things for my wedding, they have been the MOST helpful people ever. I was helped by Lexi, Pam and Shaunte'. They are such lovely women and I will recommend them every time. My fiancé is so happy with what he has gotten from them. We went in with his groomsman and they all enjoyed the experience.

This place is great, very friendly and really great to work with. My husband and his 4 GM rented their tux's here and I gotta say they looked fabulous! The staff really knows what they are doing and overall our experience was wonderful.

Do it! Literally, the only complaint I had was that there weren't enough shades of gold for accent pieces.

The women working were so helpful and accommodating, the service was fantastic and reassuring and the prices were absolutely affordable. I fully intend to return for the proper occasion!

Mr. Formal was the perfect choice for men's attire for our wedding. Everyone was very helpful and made me feel reassured that everything was taken care of and correct. I even called a couple times to make changes to our order and the staff took care of it and everything was correct when we picked it up prior to the wedding! They have great prices. I would highly recommend them for any size wedding.

Was not looking forward to dealing with the tuxedo business but Veronica at the Grand location was absolutely one of my favorite people in the wedding planning. She smiled and just goes with anything. I tried another location first and was turned off but after meeting Veronica I was sold. She really helped us get everything together quickly and painless. \

The boys looked SO GREAT in these tuxes, and bonus Mr. Formal was affordable, easy to work with, and one less thing for me to worry about!

The boys did say that the shoes were SUPER slippery and terribly uncomfortable, if we would have known we would have brought our own dress shoes. That's our only advice!

My fiancé and I went in to find his tux and his groomsmen tuxes and we had no clue what we wanted. They helped us pick styles, match colors--they were very Proffesional and organized! They had great customer service!! Would recommend them to anyone.

I work in customer service so I have a certain expectation when it comes to servicing your customers. Jim was amazing throughout the entire experience!! He helped me narrow down my options and made my selection very easy for my wedding. He was also very personable and friendly throughout the entire experience!!

mr. formal in salem did an awesome job with our guys wedding attire. It was a big relief knowing they had everything under control. They bend over backwards to make sure your taken care of. The service is outstanding. We will definetly be using them again in the future.

We went to Mr.formal after checking out all of the other tuxedo shops in the valley mr formal by far had the BEST customer service and prices around. All of the staff members knew what they were talking about and were able to create the look we had invisioned for our guys..
it couldnt have been any better, they were even able to match my colors from davids bridal even though the people from davids bridal AND mens wearhouse said no one else could match them...

I Needed a suit to wear for a wedding...I thought I would have to buy one who knew I could rent one from mr formal. I looked great. I wore a black suit with a snappy red tie.

I didn't need a tux...I never wear a suit...but I could use one for the wedding..mr formal had many to choose from...who knew...I got a black suit with a red tie...perfect for the wedding...Hollie took great care of me...I will be back...

My wife and I were more than a little worried when our wedding date drew so close and we hadn't even taken care of the tuxedo rentals! I wasn't sure we'd be able to get anything in time (break out the tuxedo t-shirts?), but Mr. Formal was able to help us out and get me and my groomsmen looking great! The staff was extremely helpful and kept us stress-free. My wife wishes picking out bridesmaid dresses (at another vendor) was as easy!

We received Tuxes for the groom, father of the bride and two groomsmen. They all looked stunning. Everything was prompt and professional, and the manager of the store was friendly and helpful. He even wrote a handmade thank you for our service. The guys looked fabulous! If I had to do it all over again I would definitely choose Mr. Formal.

We used Mr. Formal in Tigard, Oregon for all the guys in our Wedding Party and they all looked very handsome in them. We did not have any issues with any of the tuxes. And the prices were great! THANK YOU!

My husband and I were very pleased with our rentals at Mr. Formal. My husband's suit was beautiful. They managed to match his vest and tie to the sash on my dress perfectly. His shoes were also very nice. Our entire wedding party rented their suits from Mr. Formal and all were happy.

The Beaverton location (off of Walker Road) was great to work with! Even when we had to change the order they were very helpful. The tuxes all fit and were clean and ready to go when we needed them.

I am every happy we chose Mr. Formal for the men in our wedding. They were extremely helpful and knowledgeable plus they were very friendly. Our guys used Mr. Formal for the suits in our wedding. After a failed attempt of renting suits at Men's Wearhouse, someone suggested Mr. Formal. Wow what a selection! The staff was very easy to work with and the suits were exactly what we were looking for to wear at an outdoor wedding. What I liked about Mr. Formal is that they would give us reminder calls and letters in the mail, but were not too pushy or annoying. When the suits came in, they looked great and all of them fit nicely. My only negative thing is that my husband did not receive cufflinks, but he didn't care, so it didn't really matter. Great selection-same price or better than Men's Wearhouse.

Perfect for our Chaotic Wedding Planning

My fiance's groomsmen span over four states, so arranging attire was already a hefty feat. We chose Mr. Formal first, based solely on price because other places were simply outrageous in their pricing! When we walked into the Salem store, Michelle, greeted us, listened to us banter for several minutes and helped us find the perfect color combination for groomsmen vs. my fiance's newly purchased suit.

She also gave advice on white vs. ivory, as my dress is ivory and we were contemplating putting the groomsmen in white shirts. (Details ladies, details!)

We were able to give her all the information on our groomsmen and she informed us that they could go anywhere to get measured and then submit them online, and they were guaranteed to be ready the days prior to the wedding.

The ease of mind, convenience of locations and flexibility they have in making changes or arranging pick up/return is incomparable to other businesses.

We chose Mr. Formal based primarily based on our two highest priority criteria: (1) They are affiliated with stores nationwide, so our groomsmen may be measured and fitted near their homes, eliminating the perils of "mail order," or the logistics of getting everyone to the same place for fittings; and (2) The selection, which had to include classic "morning dress" to fit with the traditional style and theme of our ceremony. A few other vendors met criterion #1, almost none #2, and Mr. Formal was the only one that fulfilled both, and had exactly the style we were looking for. That their weekend hours are limited is the only reason we didn't give them a "5" on flexibility, however, it should be mentioned that they were willing to fit us on a "drop in" basis in lieu of appointments given our own difficult schedules, so if 4-1/2 stars were an option in that category, they'd have gotten that rating, which would have boosted them to 4.9 over-all. And, we're very picky, so our 4.9 might be a 5.0 for most customers. Veronica, their consultant with whom we worked, was very knowledgeable and professional, and she couldn't have been more helpful, even pointing out some details we might well have overlooked. We have not yet taken delivery on the formal wear, but based on our pre-wedding-day experience, would highly recommend Mr. Formal to anyone.

We rented all of our bridal party's tux's and my grooms tux from them and they all looked great! I can say that some of thw suits up close looked a little worn but unless you inspected them closely you couldn't tell. Overall very happy with thier services.

Im actually reviewing the Mr. Formal in Albany Oregon, however the Beaverton location was involved as well. Mr. Formal helped my dad rent a linen suit for my wedding. He is a very tall man and he was having trouble finding linen suit that fit well. Mr. Formal found him a very reasonably priced rental suit and fitted it to his needs. They allowed him to rent the suit 1 day earlier than contract (due to his traveling to Portland for the wedding) and return it to the Beaverton Store with no hassle. The quality of the suit was no the best, but my dad looked handsome regardless!

Excellent service!!!!Very professional and great sales !They have beautiful dresses there... After going to several places, I found my dress there, and it was not hard to fall in love with it... Really nice place to pick your dress and very friendly people...

The guys had an amazing time picking out their tuxes. The people there were very friendly and very helpful. We have used them in the past for prom and other formal occasions and will use them again.

My groom was very picky about what he wanted, and needed a custom size. They were great at Mr. Formal. They let us divide up what we rented and did not force us to rent the whole package. They drove 3 hours to pick up his jacket when a mistake caused it to not be delivered. They did alterations in record time. Definitely would recommend!

My groomsmen could go to any location for their fitting. Service was prompt and helpful.

Invitations review:
Also ordered my invitations through them, which turned out excellent. Ordered matching stickers (for envelopes) and napkins as well. All were exactly as ordered and on time.

My husband took care of all the men's formal wear, and he enjoyed working with Mr. Formal. They communicated very well and listened to my husband's wishes. Apparently the day-of was very rushed, but I believe that's to be expected. Prices were great compared to other local vendors. They stock a wide variety of colors, too.

We actually went to the Mr Formal in Vancouver, Wa by the mall and we were very happy with the tuxes and the boys looked so handsome. We started out at the hazel dell location but it closed and our file got thrown somewhere and couldnt be found but everything was in the computer so that was good! Everyone at the mall location was very helpful-the only thing I was upset about was the colors because they did not have anything that matched one of my colors so we had to search to get ties for the boys and finally found some at JcPenny. Otherwise it was great just make sure you have a color swatch of dresses and ties before you order things!!

They provided good service however they don't give many options to try different styles on. I would have liked to try the tux on before ordering so we could get a better idea on our preference.

Mr. Formal has a good selection of tuxes, and with their locations in other states, it made it easy for our out of town groomsmen to get measured for their tuxes. There was a minor mix up with jacket size... but since they had a warehouse in town, they just ordered a new size ready to get picked up the following day. Even with all that, somehow one of our groomsmen ended up with pants that were slightly too short, they all still looked great though!

This review is actually mostly for the Beaverton location... Angie was a pleasure to work with, but we found the other associates at the store were not as competent. Unfortunately, even though our wedding party members all sent in their measurements, the father of the groom, and the ring bearer's ensembles did not fit properly. They had to drive to the Portland location to receive the pieces that were mis-sized. They said this location had MUCH more inventory and would have been better to work with throughout -- unfortunately, when we tried to book with this location originally, they never answered the phone. SO -- the suits turned out AWESOME and everyone looked handsome, but it was a bit of a nightmare headache.

Mr. Formal was rather disappointing, especially since we had 11 people rent suits from them. We had 3 people who had issues initially and had to go back on Friday, including myself. This was not optimal because I was very busy Friday and traffic sucked. My tie also broke and they didn’t provide me with an extra so I had to borrow another groomsman’s tie while they used Bobby pins to fix the other one.

However, when I called to complain to them about my issues they were very understanding and apologetic and refunded me the cost of my suit which I thought was a good gesture. I suggested that they guarantee the Grooms suit on Wednesday instead of by Thursday because if something is off with the suit, it’s ridiculous that they need to make that trek on Friday, especially when the store doesn’t open until 11am. My other suggestion was that they give large groups extra pieces such as a tie. I think they were very receptive to the suggestions and I hope they’re implemented because it’s always good to see a local small business like Mr. Formal do well

We had a lot of trouble with Mr. Formal with our wedding. There were a lot of mix-ups with finances (thank goodness we saved all of our receipts), and on our wedding day we had off colors and missing tops. Eventually everything worked out but I wouldn't say they were worth the trouble.

We had a very bad experience with Mr. Formal in Tualatin, Oregon. Here are a few issues that we had during our experience with them. After spending an hour back in April to change our colors the lady that helped us reassured that the correct changes were made. The wednesday before our wedding (June 20th 2015) i went in and the colors were still all wrong. The lady that reassured us multiple times that she made the correct changes didn't. (Talk about freak out bride). Before the ceremony even started one of our groomsmen shoe sole fell apart and during the professional photos my husband (the groom) sole fell off completely. You can notice the sole is missing significantly in our wedding photos. :( We talked with the Tualatin manager and he promised he would at least get us a reimbursement for the 4 shoes that feel apart. However we felt with the many more issue that arose with using Mr. Formal services and how it negatively impacted our special day we deserved a bigger reimbursement than the $54 for the shoes. The manager was the only professional that we encourtnered using Mr. Formal. We will go out of our way to warn any potential customers of Mr. Formal.

I had the worst experience with this Mr. Formal location! I got a great deal from a wedding showcase and went to them in December of 2016. My wedding wasn’t until July 7, 2017, but I had to get the deal prior to 2016 ending. When we first went there the manager, Angie, told us our groomsmen suits would be less than $100 with our coupon. My now husband and I were so excited! We wanted to save our groomsmen a few bucks. We went back in in Feb of 2017 and Angie told us that was a mistake and she did not know who would have told us that…We were both appalled and had to change our groomsmen suits around to be more affordable for them. It was such a headache! I was in and our of that store MUTLIPLE times leading up to my wedding and calling them so many times. They kept mixing up our orders and when we talked about one thing, Angie put down in her computer system another thing. I was so frustrated! We could NEVER get our order right! I felt like I had to tell her what I wanted and then repeated it 2-3 times because she kept mixing everything up. My father-in-law tried on his suit multiple times too because he was a bigger guy and they wanted to make sure they got the right size for him. The DAY of my wedding, he went to pick up his suit, because that was when it was finally ready and the pants where 3 inches off the ground!!! They made him and my mother-in-law LATE to the venue because they had to fix the pants! My nephew didn’t even wear his pants to the wedding because they were high waters as well! My grooms best man’s jacket was too tight around his hands and shoulders and could barely wear the jacket AND his pants where 5 inches TOO LONG! My Aunt had to hem them the DAY OF MY WEDDING! My brothers button fell off in the middle of pictures too! Thank God I brought a sewing kit and my aunt is a good seamstress because my groomsmen would have looked absolutely ridiculous thanks to Mr. Formal! This company is not worth your time or money. They treated us so poorly and did

I bought suspenders from them which they didn't get in until they day of despite ordering almost 3 months in advance. Then when I got the suspenders one of them was broken and old. They were responsible for the ONE thing to go wrong at my wedding. NEVER GOING BACK
