    10/10 would recommend

    We had the most perfect wedding weekend at Mountain Lake Lodge! Raechel and Aleta were so helpful throughout the whole process and handled everything the day of the wedding so we could just enjoy our day! The overlook was beautiful and Mary’s Barn was perfect for our reception. We would 100% recommend getting married at Mountain Lake to anyone! It was a perfect day :)

    Beautiful inclusive venue

    The whole team at Mountain Lake Lodge helped make our small intimate ceremony and dinner perfect. We had a small elopement on a Monday with about 15 guests but they still put in the time and energy, and helped with everything. Couldn't have done it without Lyndsi and Aleta. Beautiful venue, fall foliage, mountain views at bald knob, and delicious food and drinks!

    Great Experience

    The team at Mountain Lake Lodge was fantastic. From the food, helping us with the vendors, arranging our tables for us, pulling rose petals off of the flowers for us, last minute changes, and overall upbeat attitude and willingness to help. The team was fantastic!

    Thank you so much to Raechel and her amazing day! She was so easy to work with and accommodating to all of our requests. I could not have asked for a smoother wedding weekend at a more beautiful locale.

    This was the perfect venue for my wedding and reception. Everything I asked for was provided or I was given the info to make it happen. The staff was great and the setting was fabulous!

    We had our wedding in October at the Gazebo and the Giles/Cascade room for our reception. Raechel and Lyndsi were wonderful in planning and communication for our destination wedding. They were responsive and helped guide us through every detail. We were able to customize our wedding package for a small wedding of only 35 people and the pricing was very affordable. The venue is gorgeous in the Fall and in addition to all the fun stuff on site, the Dirty Dancing history definitely added a unique opportunity for everyone to explore the filming locations. The on site restaurant also provided the perfect venue for our rehearsal dinner. I wanted a small, rustic, mountain top wedding and Mountain Lake absolutely met our expectations.

    Lyndsi and Heather were great to work with. They responded almost immediately to my questions that kept popping up before the wedding. On the day of the wedding, Heather ensured that everything went smoothly. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful with whatever we needed. They had no problem moving the ceremony when it rained. I did not feel stressed because I knew that the staff would help with whatever problem arose. The food was delicious, too. I highly recommend Mountain Lake Lodge as a wedding venue!

    Thank you to the wonderful staff at Mountain Lake Lodge! I was so pleased with how everything turned out for my small "wedding ceremony". My husband and I rented the small ballroom and we were married in front of a Grand Stone Fireplace!!!!! It was just beautiful, and exactly what I wanted. In dealing with the event coordinator, I can only say that she did a great job with getting the details down and was very professional and courteous! As far as "value", it was an amazing deal! The lodge is so beautiful, and everything came to gether just how I dreamed it would. After the ceremony, we even found a surprise cream cheese desert with chocolate dipped strawberries waiting for us! I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a romantic wedding venue.     The staff at the Mountian Lake Resort were amazing! The lady (forgive me I forgot her name) who handled our wedding details was so attentive and saw to everything! the gazebo was beautiful and the temperture was perfect, even in July it was perfect. They also did our catering! The food was wonderful, we had swordfish and prime rib, both were excellent! It couldnt have gone better!

    Despite our very tight planning timeline, the staff at Mountain Lake Lodge make sure that everything happened for us! Although we did have some concerns and communication issues amidst some staff turnover, everything turned out perfectly - we could not have asked for a better group of people to work with! The ceremony venue was perfect, rooms were convenient and the variety of lodging options worked well for everyone coming in from out of town. The food for our reception at Harvest was also great. We are beyond pleased with our experience and would recommend to anyone!

    We had an amazing time working with Heidi on the details of our wedding. From the start we had a very easy planning process from the menu choices, venues for our rehearsal, ceremony, and reception. The wedding party also stayed in the Blueberry Ridge cabins which made the weekend even more fun. We were rained out of our outdoor venue, the staff was wonderful and executed our "plan B" without hesitation. Also, we received many compliments on the food at the reception, which was a buffet style. It was an amazing experience and I highly recommend Mountain Lake Lodge!

    Mountain Lake was the most beautiful place I could have ever chosen for a wedding and reception. Ms. Hines was amazing in helping to plan and coordinate the wedding. She met with us many times, giving us (and our families) a tour of the grounds and helping with wedding ideas. She also coordinated with our other vendors to make sure everything went off without a hitch!

    The scenery was absolutely beautiful and romantic. The food served for the reception was phenomenal!!! I would recommend this experience for anyone!

    The venue was gorgeous the day of our wedding. Because the lake is manmade and on a mountain, there is a small hole in the bottom of it. It goes through a cycle of emptying and refilling once it rains. Unfortunatetly we've had a few years of low rain averages, so the lake is pretty well empty. This causes it to be kind of an eyesore.

    It was wonderful having the ceremony and reception at the same place. Mountain Lake had great food and was very helpful with accommodating any of my special needs. The wedding planner there ran my rehearsal for me and that was a BIG help. Overall, a very smooth experience.

    Beautiful overlook, amazing place, good food options. Weather can change on you by the day.

    Very nice great spaces. Great cabins to stay in. They made all the food changes we asked for. Alchol here is very expensive. Food was delicious. Overlook was beautiful and the rain location was very pretty, but a little bit of a wind tunnel. The mountains are beautiful.

    Mountain Lake Lodge was a beautiful setting for our wedding. There catering team and wedding coordinator did an excellent job accommodating all our requests and making our guests feel at home. Everyone had a wonderful time and we are so happy with how our wedding turned out.

    Good food and pretty venue

    Overall pretty good experience. It’s a beautiful venue. Food was amazing.

    They did have some serious communication issues between departments including the finance department and deposit issues. We were also promised a lot at the beginning and then it changed. Including areas that would be open for our guests and it was not. The original venue coordinator left in the middle of planning and nobody alerted us that she had left until we noticed someone else was responding to emails.

    This was a beautiful fall location. Our ceremony was held on the veranda and reception was in Mary's Barn, it was the perfect day and the food was wonderful. The reason for its low rating is due to the service recieved. The catering and events manager; Brenna was difficult at best to get a hold of. The week before the wedding I had called her to check on a few things and got her voicemail. I asked her to call me back as I had more questions then the voicemail would allow and left my number but instead of calling she emailed me and did not fully answer the questions I had asked. Every time I communicated with her I got this sense of arrogance that was very frustrating. The catering crew was very nice, I wish we could have dealt mostly with them instead!!!

    Pros:

    - Flexible with adding our small (fewer than 50 guests) wedding to their schedule.
    - People can get married wherever they want (you don't have to go with one of the advertised locations).

    Cons:

    - Didn't follow through with clearing our location (in the woods and a field).
    - Didn't follow through with clearly posting signs about the wedding, so our guests didn't know where to go once they arrived at the lodge.
    - Didn't follow through with having 2-3 vans to shuttle guests up the mountain (we only had one van, which caused the wedding to start half an hour later than scheduled).

    Ultimately, we had a beautiful wedding ceremony and reception at Mountain Lake and that is what matters most. The setting was beautiful, it was very convenient to have everything in one place, and there are so many things for guests to do there.

    However, the planning process was nothing short of a nightmare for us. We worked with three different people over the course of three months. We had difficulties with their responsiveness (or lack thereof) from the beginning. This caused a lot of unnecessary stress, especially in the weeks before the wedding where we struggled to get them to make some very simple changes to our agreement. I felt like I had to repeat requests over and over again, and still many details were not followed through with.

    The day of staff were very nice and the food was good. But the stress and frustration of the planning process, along with the fact that they did not deliver everything as promised, makes me hesitate to recommend mountain lake to anyone as a wedding venue.
