Stop looking and book Motor City HDJ!

If you’re a bride on a budget thinking, “Can’t I just use a Spotify playlist?” THINK AGAIN. I had no idea how vital a DJ would be, and Brett of Motor City HDJ absolutely knocked it out of the park.

The DJ is quite literally the emcee of your entire event. Brett was the one who transitioned guests smoothly from arrival to the ceremony, signaled my cue to walk down the aisle, and moved everyone from cocktail hour to their dinner tables. During planning, there were so many logistical details I hadn’t even considered, and Brett helped us with every single one.

He has incredible charisma, got the crowd cheering at all the right moments, and ensured the entire event ran seamlessly. These are the things you 100% need a great DJ for—it’s about so much more than just the music once the party kicks off (though Brett nailed that, too!). He played all our planned requests and somehow read the room perfectly to keep the dance floor packed until the very last song.

My wedding was in April 2026, and it was truly the best day of my life. I have never had such a blast or spent so much time on the dance floor. A huge thank you to Brett for making it possible. If you’re looking for a DJ for a wedding or any event, stop looking—this is your guy!

Amazing DJ who will keep your dance floor BUSY!

Brett is such an amazing DJ and we can't recommend him enough! We had Brett for all our music needs for our wedding (ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception).He was a pleasure to work with from the very first meeting we had with him. His planning tools made it so easy to organize and communicate our wants/needs for our day. He had everything handled from setup to timing and we didn’t have to worry about anything. The dance floor was busy from song 1 till the end of the night! He was checking in with my husband and I throughout the evening in case there were any last minute songs we wanted to hear or any requests we hadn’t heard yet. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about his energy and how amazing he was! The dance floor is one of my favorite parts of a wedding and I am so grateful we had Brett as our DJ to help make our dance floor so amazing for our day!

Life of the Party!!

Brett was the best DJ we could have asked for! He was the life of the party, kept everyone engaged and the day/night running on time. His price is beyond fair and his website that you put all your information into is user friendly and very thorough. He was a great addition to our big day and would recommend him every time!!

Top-Notch DJ!!!

If you want you and your guests to have a great time and be entertained and on the dance floor all night, look no further, Brett and Motor City HDJ is just what you are looking for. Brett truly takes the time to get to know you, your vision and makes it come to life. We had Brett DJ for both our ceremony and reception and it all went off without a hitch! He helped make our day amazing and our guests loved him too! He thinks of everything and was very open to our special requests for our big day! Me and my husband cannot recommend him enough!

Best wedding DJ

We were blown away with Brett at our wedding. He was a great MC moving things along throughot the night. We didn't have to worry about anything, just let him do his thing. very professional, energetic, and just a great guy in general

Brett truly was the best DJ we could have asked for! From the start of the process to the end he was so helpful and made it so easy and stress free! We knew right from our first meeting that he was going to be the perfect DJ for us! He made everything flow very smoothly in our day and was willing to help anytime we needed him and was always sure to ask if we needed anything! We got so many compliments on how much energy he brought to our day! We couldn’t have been happier with everything and we appreciate him so much for being a great DJ! He truly is amazing at what he does and I would recommend him to anyone looking for a DJ!

The best!

Brett is the BEST!! He was our DJ this past Saturday & before that, we had the honor to see him at our friend’s wedding last October & before that, my cousin’s wedding last September. Then we get to see him again in October of next year for our friend’s wedding! We will never stop recommending him to our friends. He’s one of the few wedding vendors we came across that doesn’t charge an arm & a leg for no reason. He’s a genuine guy who goes above & beyond to make your day perfect! He truly gets to know his clients & makes sure the day goes smoothly from start to finish. His website is easy to use which made it so easy to add all the songs we did & didn’t want. He’s awesome at reading the crowd & knowing how to hype everyone up. I couldn’t recommend him enough!

Best DJ ever!

Brett is hands down the greatest. I have told everyone who asked me about my wedding that he was the best vendor I worked with, out of all of them. My husband and I clicked with him on our “first date” (lol) when the three of us went to dinner and we both knew that Brett was the perfect DJ for us. He kept the party going, the dance floor full and the all the guests engaged with the entire night! So much upbeat energy. He was quite literally the life of the party!

Ceremony/Reception DJ

Brett was the DJ for my ceremony and reception last weekend and was hands down fantastic! He helped coordinate and make sure everything went according to my timeline. When we had an issue with our shuttle bus an hour before the ceremony Brett was reaching out to all of his contacts and trying to solve the issue for us. He checked in on my husband and I multiple times throughout the night to see if we needed anything. He was amazing at keeping the guests involved and on the dance floor! When my 84 year old grandma came onto the dance floor he was already playing her favorite song when I went up to request it. Cannot recommend him enough!

Best wedding dj ever!

Highly recommend MotorCity HDJ as a wedding DJ. Brett was amazing to work with start to finish. Motor City provided an easy to use wedding playlist creator with associated documents where you can personalize and clearly state your wedding vision. MotorCity always answered emails promptly and was always happy to help when questions and concerns arose. MotorCity’s equipment, sound system, lights/lasers were all topnotch. The sound quality throughout the ceremony and reception was amazing. Brett was very professional and incredibly accommodating to specific song requests that made our day perfect. His personality and ability to guide the atmosphere of the room is incredible. Brett provided a lively and engaging musical experience for all our guests. His charismatic personality coupled with awesome DJ skills were not only entertaining but also made everyone feel included in our celebration. If you are looking for an unforgettable wedding, we would highly recommend MotorCity DJ! Hands down the BEST DJ EVER.

Hype DJ & Packed Dance Floor!

Brett was everything we could have asked for and more! It was obvious how fun he was going to be from the first time we video chatted with him. At our wedding, he did an amazing job keeping the room attentive and made sure everyone was hype for the big moments. The dance floor was packed! He really knows how to entertain both with music, leading dances, and making announcements fun. His online portal is super user friendly, and he played all of the songs we wanted to hear. We have received many compliments since our wedding! If you are looking for someone to take charge & run the show in a fun way, and to have an incredible dance party, he is your guy! We would recommend him to anyone getting married.

Brett was AMAZING from the moment I contacted him. He is incredibly professional and made the planning process so much easier. He kept our timeline moving smoothly and made sure to get everyone on the dance floor. I am beyond thankful to have had him as our DJ/hype man. Brett was incredible!!! We had such a great time I sent a thank you at 6 am the day after our wedding because I could not wait. We have received multiple compliments on what a great DJ we had at our wedding and we are so glad we chose Brett. Best wedding dj ever

We first met Brett about 4 years ago when he was hired as the DJ at our cousin's wedding. Marriage wasn't really on our radar at the time, but we said to ourselves, "when we get married, we want this man to be the DJ at our wedding. He's awesome." So once we were engaged 3 years later, we hired Brett. If anything, he's just gotten better over time. Brett had never DJ'd at our venue before, so we were a little worried if that would cause any issues, especially since it was at an older greenhouse that was not very "outlet-friendly." Brett reassured us that he would have no issue setting up and that it would go off without a hitch. Sure enough, it was perfect. He was able to keep our wedding timeline moving according to our schedule, introduce the wedding party when it was time and was an electric personality during the reception and when everyone got to the dance floor. Many of our friends commented afterwards how awesome the DJ was and that not only did he pick great songs for dancing, but he was a great entertainer throughout the night. We would highly recommend Brett to anyone that is looking for a DJ with so much experience, energy, and organization.

Best DJ ever!

If you are looking for an amazing DJ for your wedding Motor City DJ is it!! Brett was amazing! He helped us along the way with wedding planning, he was always available for questions and suggestions from the start of wedding planning. On the day of the wedding he was available to us all day from the ceremony until the end of the nigh. He was calming and helpful though the whole process. At the wedding he was amazing, keeping everyone going while using the songs we picked plus adding in his own to keep everything moving smoothly. We received many compliments on his work from the ceremony to the reception. If you want an amazing DJ who really cares about your wedding Brett is your guy!! We will be recommending him to all of our friends!

Another fantastic party with the best DJ out there

Brett has become family to us as he's DJ'ed 4 events I've attended and/or planned. He is one of the most friendly people you'll ever meet! He keeps everyone up and enjoying themselves. His portal is so incredibly helpful while planning a wedding. He gives top picks for all kinds of special dances and that was a HUGE help for some of the ones we got stuck on. He did the ceremony music for us as well and it was absolutely perfectly faded into the next song. I didn't have to worry about anything once I submitted the forms a few days before our wedding. He had it all set and ready to go for the big day. I loved not having to handle anything! Our guests continue to rave about him, some even made sure to get his contact information for upcoming events and I so hope they hire him since I know it will be a good time! Our venue has also raved about how easy he was to work with. If you need a DJ, Motor City HDJ is your absolute best option and you will NOT regret it.

Motor City HDJ was the best!!

Brett was so amazing on our big day!! We had to reschedule 3 times due to COVID and each time he was so understanding and helpful. When we finally got to celebrate he was the best DJ we could have asked for! We had a crowd that wasn’t really into dancing but he knew what to play to get people out of their seats. He was so much fun!!

Phenomenal

If you are in need of a DJ you won’t regret booking Brett with Motor City HDJ!!! He brought the party to life during our wedding reception and our dance floor was always packed. He was a key to making our wedding day so perfect.

Brett was so great to work with through our 2 years of planning. The online software we used to curate our playlist was so user friendly and really took the stress away from that aspect of our planning process. He was also always accessible with any questions or concerns we had and was willing to meet with us to discuss the final details of our wedding.

There are so many great things to say about Brett and his business. If we could do it over all over again we’d book Motor City HDJ every time.

The Best DJ out there!

I would strongly encourage everyone to get in touch with Brett for any of your DJ and Emcee needs. Brett was incredibly professional ahead of our wedding. Our conversations were impactful, meaningful and he always made sure our expectations were met. At the time of our wedding reception Brett brought energy, passion and he was absolutely ELECTRIC. We are still receiving compliments many months after being married on how much fun our event was. I attribute a large amount of the fun coming from Brett. He read the room perfectly and our dance floor was PACKED the entire night. So thankful for working with Brett! You are doing yourself a disservice if you don't work with him!

An Amazing Experience!

Brett helped us with every step of the process he made it so easy on us and he's such a joy to be around, he has so much positive energy. He was so accommodating and available, we couldn't be happier with everything.
We got married on March 14th, 2020 right before the state pretty much shut down due to covid and he came through for us and was there and super supportive. We highly recommend Motor city HDJ!

Amazing and professional experience

Brett of Motor City HDJ was a phenomenal choice! We heard him at another wedding and knew we had to have him play at ours. The whole process was easy and he went above and beyond explaining his process and going over the details with us. From start to finish the ceremony, entrances, etc. went so efficiently and he ran the whole show. He did a great job mixing my family's cultural music along with music that everyone likes as well. I have never seen a DJ so effectively gauge the feeling of the room to choose the perfect songs to keep everyone going. Brett checked in with me and sought me out to check that my husband and I were happy with everything which I appreciated. We even had an issue with our venue contract and he smoothed it over for us so we didn't have to deal with it during our night. I cannot recommend Brett enough to DJ your big night!

Brett is the best there is! When we decided on a DJ, I know it had to be Brett. From our first meeting to our big day, HDJ was a breeze. They have a great online portal to enter in your information, select songs for your special dances, and even let him know what songs you do not want played! Brett is a true professional. He knows how to work a crowd, mixes the songs perfectly into each other, it was hard to pull myself off the dance floor! I would 1000% recommend Brett to anyone! Having a great DJ is a must, our dance floor was always packed!

BOOK MOTOR CITY HDJ - one of the best decisions we made

There is NO ONE better than Motor City HDJ. From the consultation before we officially booked to day of execution, Brett was incredible. Hilarious and personable with an attention to detail and professionalism that is unmatched - legitimately thought of EVERYTHING, and took care of everything without us even having to ask (he was usually like 20 steps ahead of us). He made our ceremony and reception run perfectly, and made sure everyone had a blast. I've never seen a DJ interact so naturally with a crowd. He even got on the dance floor himself a couple of times to help amp up the energy, our guests LOVED it. Booking Motor City HDJ is one of the best wedding decisions we made!! If you're thinking about booking them, DO IT NOW. You won't regret it.

Brett was the life of the party! I don't think there was one point in the night when someone wasn't on the dance floor. He also accommodated our need for plenty of Spanish music. I cannot say enough good things about this DJ! You will be dancing all night and so will everyone else!

Brett was truly incredible - one of the best parts of our whole wedding! He made us feel at ease from the very moment we met him through the entire reception. He truly cares about the couples he works with from calling me a few months before to ask if I needed any help to texting me the night before the wedding to see how I’m feeling. Brett was a breeze to work with. He was very professional, but also such a fun guy. I had been to a wedding he DJ'd before and he was the first (and of course only!) DJ I called and booked immediately when I found out he had our date open. After only chatting with him a few times, he understood and knew exactly what kind of music we liked and wanted. He's also not one to just sit on the sidelines and play music! He LOVES to get the guests involved and dance on the dance floor with them. Our guests have been raving about how fantastic he was and that we had the best reception they have ever been too. Brett was the ideal wedding DJ. From our initial contact with him, where he gave us an informative and professional presentation, to his reasonable pricing, we were very impressed. The DJ became one of the last pieces to planning our wedding, but he was able to accommodate our needs with roughly three month's notice, not only being our reception DJ, but also playing music for our ceremony. Plus, his business is convenient for the bride and groom's planning (online song playlist creation and he'll find any song he doesn't have in his library, such as our first dance choice) and real-time app-based song requests for guests. He is a caring, fun-loving DJ and the perfect fit for a wedding where you want everyone to be on the dance floor. If you want the best DJ for your wedding, hire Brett. I saw him at a friend's wedding prior to being engaged, and knew immediately that he needed to be my DJ if/when I got married. When I got engaged he was the first person we called after we had a date set. During the wedding I had people coming up to me saying "your DJ is awesome!" My response? "I know!!" I would recommend him in a heartbeat for any event. Motorcity HDJ is not just a DJ. Brett checked in with me to ease my worries during the wedding planning process, he called me the day of the wedding to let me know that everything was going smoothly at the venue, he directed the wedding party processional so that everything was perfect, (during the reception) he was entertaining, he called people by name, "look at Ron on the dance floor" this makes everyone want to dance, he brought my husband and I drinks when we were empty-handed... he made our entire wedding. It is honestly an easy decision to book Brett. His personality is exactly what you would expect from a Dj, especially throughout your wedding day. He really takes pride in being the "entertainer", which he should because it's his job. An incredible job throughout the entire day with his services, along with being very outgoing and attentive to the bride and groom.

Amazing! Brett, thank you so much for everything at our wedding. This guy is a true professional and so flexible. We switched the order of the ceremony and cocktail hour on the fly because of weather, so Brett, who was in the middle of setting up his equipment for the reception, was told we were starting the ceremony in five minutes. He ran outside in his shorts and a tshirt and got microphones set up and perfect. He has great energy and makes everything a blast from the bridal party intros to the last song. So many of my guests commented that he was the best DJ of any wedding they had been to. We love you, Motor City HDJ!

Pro tip- make sure to have Brett do uplighting as well. His uplights work with his sound system, and the colors will change and flash with the music. I didn't realize this until the wedding day, and it provided such a great atmosphere.

Motor City HDJ (Brett Cummins) was so welcoming, warm, and friendly when we first met him. His energy and passion for what he does really sold us. I appreciated the fact that he was prompt with responses and gave us the ability to personalize our event with the website he provides. Brett made our event very personal, romantic, enjoyable, and most of all, kept everything running smoothly. I was hardly ever off the dance floor, and that included almost all of my guests. It has now been 3 weeks after my wedding, and I still get the most compliments about Motor City HDJ and how fun, funny, and entertaining he was. I have recommended him to many friends and family that are now looking into booking him for their next event. Brett, thank you so much for making our big day perfect! I wish I could relive the night over and over again! You are the best!

I can't say enough about Brett & Motor City HDJ! The service was on point from the moment we made contact. Brett was responsive, personable, & perfectly professional. We knew immediately that we wanted to hire him. He constantly worked with us throughout the planning process to answer any questions that came up. On the day of our wedding, Brett made sure everything ran perfectly smooth. We had so much fun with him teaching us dance moves and cracking jokes. He kept the crowd going all night long! Motor City HDJ was amazing! By far the best Dj around. We first met Brett and knew instantly that he would be great! He understands exactly what you want for your wedding and does everything he can to make the reception spectacular. We felt like we had nothing to worry about at the reception and that Brett would keep the party going. He made sure that everyone was having a good time, and even got on the dance floor with the guests! What we liked most about Brett was that he truly loves his job. He's not just playing off a playlist, he is interacting with the guests, teaching dance moves and cracking jokes. I know for certain we will be using Brett again in the future. He is the best! If you want someone to take your wedding reception and make it a party to remember, Brett is who you need to talk to. Just awesome!

Brett, Motor City HDJ, is wonderful! He was born to do this job and it shows. He genuinely cares about how your wedding goes and he makes sure everyone is dancing and having a great time. I've never been to a wedding where all of the guests have asked, "Where did you find this DJ? He's the best!". I feel like if you go with a different DJ, you're shorting yourself and your guests of a really great time.

When you meet with Brett, he makes you understand that once your reception starts, everything that you needs to happen will happen. He's super organized and will do everything possible to make sure that your reception will run smoothly...and it will. His music selections will have everyone dancing and enjoying the night. I will use Motor City HDJ any time I need a DJ in the future.

Brett was a great choice for our wedding DJ! He was extremely responsive to my emails (even last minute, late at night) and was proactive in checking in with us every few months in the year before the wedding. He was key in keeping our reception on track and organized.

One of the most important things to us for our reception was the music. I hate going to a wedding with a lame DJ and no one dances. We refused to let that be our reception. I found Motor City HDJ on wedding wire, and all I have to say is: Brett is the best. He listened to exactly what our visions were for our wedding reception and he came through. We wanted to dance the night away, and that we did. He was professional, reliable, and always very energetic. If you want people talking about how great the music and dancing was at your reception, then Brett is definitely the man to take care of that for you!

We had an excellent experience with Motor City HDJ and Brett. Brett was extremely responsive and organized, the online planning tool was great for laying out our timeline, song requests, and communicating with Brett (very easy to use), as well as allowing guests to requests songs during the event via their phones (which was a big hit). Brett provided the perfect balance of allowing us to customize our entire reception while providing guidance from his experience to create an effortless flow of events. Brett was able to accommodate a specific song request that was not part of his library for our event and we really appreciated that, in addition to a couple last minute requests (the event went an hour later than planned, birthday song, etc...)
Our wedding was about 250 people of all ages that LOVE to dance and party and we have and continue to hear nothing but good things about the music and atmosphere! We would definitely recommend Motor City HDJ and Brett to anyone planning a wedding in Metro Detroit!

Brett was hands down our best vendor related decision that we made for our wedding. He was raved about by everyone I've spoken with post wedding. Everyone from my 60 year old aunt to my 40 year old brother to my 17 year old cousin loved him. DJs really do set the tone and atmosphere for your wedding and I have never seen someone who does as good of a job as Brett. He made our reception absolutely perfect and made sure we had a full dance floor for four straight hours.

Brett was simply Awesome! He accommodated all of our musical needs and took the time to meet with us, call us, email and text. Anytime we needed anything he was very quick to respond! At our wedding he knew how to keep the dance floor busy and fun! We would highly recommend him because he is very professional and has a fun attitude!! Brett was the best kind of vendor you can hope to work with for your wedding: quick to respond, full of advice and answers due to his immense amount of experience, professional, fun, and most important of all, great at his job. He is an excellent DJ and kept the party going at our wedding all night.

He was so easy to work with leading up to the wedding. He walked me through every detail that I needed clarification about and made me feel so comfortable and taken care of heading into the big day. He is much more than a DJ; he was the emcee for the night and made sure everything went smoothly. There were a ton of little things that I was worried about on my wedding day, but his services was not one of them, and that is a huge compliment coming from someone who worries about everything! He was fantastic and everyone had an amazing time and danced all night, which was super important to us.

He's a great guy and a great DJ. I would without a doubt recommend him to anyone who is looking for a DJ for their wedding. He is friendly, energetic, and professional. We were so happy (and lucky!) to have had him at our wedding.

This DJ was amazing! He was referred through a friend (via another friend!), so we were lucky enough to see him in action at a wedding a few months before our wedding. He was quick to respond to all emails and checked in regularly to make sure we were on task with our playlist, and just generally made himself available to us.

The price below reflects DJ services (including emceeing) and the last minute purchase of a monogram and up-lighting. He didn't blink an eye when I put him on the spot for this -- just made it happen. Being in the throes of wedding planning, some things are bound to slip your mind, and it was so helpful having a vendor was forgiving of that.

We've already recommended him to my sister-in-law who, upon witnessing him at our wedding, HAD to have him at hers.

Wow is all i can say! Brett is everything you need in a DJ! Our venue manager added him to their preferred list after she saw how he ran his show- the timing, the follow up, always had a plan and had full control! left me and my new husband to do what we wanted.... mingle with guests, dance and enjoy our night stress free!!! Brett has a big personality and let me tell you it is well worth it when it comes to making your day stress free!!!

Brett was absolutely AMAZING. He was incredibly energetic and genuinely happy to be a part of our wedding. He did the music for our ceremony, which happened to be a last minute addition, and everything went so smoothly. He even was able to encourage our flower girl and ring bearer to walk a little faster because he knew the song was about to end. We had multiple guest throughout the night comment on how much they loved our DJ and ask about getting his contact information so they could book him in the future. Brett was so fun and really great at getting shy guests to come out on the dance floor. I would HIGHLY recommend booking Motor City HDJ for any event.

Wedding planning is crazy, hectic, and a basic nightmare. Brett made the DJ services worry free! His online system is super user friendly, and allowed us to plan our music out on our own schedule. The day of, he jumped in when my venues "planner" couldn't remember a single detail about my wedding (there were 3 that weekend and she got them all confused).
He is personable, professional, but most of all flexible! He can roll with the punches and is willing to do anything to make your day as wonderful as possible. I would recommend him 1000 times over. He is an ABSOLUTE STEAL for the price.
