Mike was the best photographer I’ve ever had (and I’ve had plenty!). He was very personable, funny, flexible and helpful. He guided us through every pose to make sure we always looked our best. He made sure we were comfortable with everything and reassured us throughout. He edited the photos in lighting speed which I’ve never seen before. He did way better than my Pinterest board! Couldn’t recommend him more and will definitely utilize his services forever! -

We worked with Mike from MOOD Photography for our engagement photos, and he was incredible! Mike is so easy to work with — creative, professional, and genuinely fun to be around. He made us feel completely comfortable during the shoot, and the photos turned out absolutely beautiful.

The best team out there for photography/videography
Mood did such an amazing job on our engagement session! I came across Mood as I was browsing through my instagram feed and was immediately drawn to their work. I am very picky when it comes to photographer/cinematographer and very particular with what I wanted. I had my planner reached out to Mood and we were able to get in touch with Mike. Mike was very kind and informative- he was able to answer all of our questions and went through all the details. After telling Mike about our vision and our save-the-date video, he made sure I would get the lead photographer/videographer, which is Mike himself and Troy. Both were professional and wonderful to work with. My fiancé and I were very nervous on the day of the photo shoot but the two gentlemen made us feel comfortable and walked us through all the poses. In addition to being detail oriented and meticulously in their craft, they were easy to work with. Another bonus is they delivered the video along with some photos in a timely fashion! While watching the clip I was so excited and beyond happy knowing that I have something unique and customized to my likings. I remember telling my fiancé I don’t think I would be this pleased if I were to work with someone else. I am beyond grateful for their work and cannot wait for them to shoot our wedding day. -

Where do I begin! Mike and his team were the absolute best to work with and their photography skills are incredible. During our consultation they took the time to answer so many of our questions and made us feel comfortable using them for our engagement shoot and wedding. we were so pleased with how everything turned out and would highly recommend using them for hour event or wedding! -

Mike and his staff were absolutely amazing. Having a destination wedding poses so many issues, especially when the bride and groom live across the country.
However, Mike and his team were always accessible and very accommodating to all of our needs. They took the time to try and understand the vision we had for the type of photos and shots we wanted to capture.

On the day of the shoot the weather was bleek and our mood was dreadful. Though our emotions were falling short, Meagan kept her professionalism and restored our faith in ourselves. The end result was a beautiful set of photos that we cannot be more proud of. -

Mood has done multiple weddings for people in my community, so I knew that I would be in good hands! I hired mood for my engagement and wedding day, and so far how well the engagement shoot went has compelled me to write this review. My hair (naturally super curly) was straightened and curled that day for our shoot, but due to overcast weather, my hair frizzed beyond control. Meagan was able to calm me down, and take breathtaking photos! I was so worried the shoot wouldn’t have came out good, but I was so wrong! Meagan was great to work out and very talented. I can’t wait to see how the wedding photos turn out! -

The best experience
Originally, our wedding planner sent us a group of photographers, but we noticed there wasn’t any versatility of different cultures and races. So we took it upon ourselves to find another photographer. We came across Mood on Inatagram and we knew we had to have them! On our first meeting, everyone was extremely nice and welcoming. Their studio was spotless and felt like home. They showed us their work and it was truly unmatched! Plus, it was right in our budget.
The day of the engagement shoot, we had the pleasure of shooting with Mike and Kim. Mike was super funny and made us feel comfortable with each other and with him as well. It was a lots of laughs and we all had great chemistry with each other. We received our photos really quick and we’re so in love with how they came out! We can’t wait for them to shoot our wedding day! -

Beautiful experience!!
This was such a great experience from the moment we met our photographer Meagan in their studio. She helped create and revise multiple timelines for the day which really helped keep my sanity. The day of, she and Kevin both made us feel so at ease and comfortable. They told us where to be, what to do every moment it was amazing. Now about the photos, they took the most amazing and beautiful photos we couldn't be happier with them. They gave us some many and made sure to capture every detail. I would recommend Mood to anyone looking for the perfect experience. -

So glad we went with Mood for our wedding video! They took the time to sit down with us before to really figure out what style and vibe we were looking for and absolutely nailed it! The professional quality and overall flow of the video could not have been more perfect. It was even better than what we could have hoped for! All of our family and friends loved it as well, many even saying it was like a celebrity music video! Thank you Mood!!! -

Mike and his team are beyond impressive. I was referred to Mood by a dear friend of mine. From our first meeting, Mike and his entire staff made it a point to explain every detail of what our wedding photography would look like, should we select them. This was extremely valuable since my husband and I had never been married before. Meagan, who leads the front desk, was always available via email or text to answer my numerous questions, even prior to us signing our contract.
Selecting Mood to do our photography for our wedding was one of the best decisions we made. We also had them shoot our engagement photos, which was included in our package. Once we got our engagement photos back, we knew we made the right decision in selecting them. So many wedding photographers take cheesy, cliche engagement photos. Mike and Eddie (Eddie shot our wedding) made our engagement photos feel so unique and special. All of our friends and family were so impressed.
On the day of our wedding, Eddie and the team went above and beyond. They made my husband and I feel comfortable through some of the most nerving wracking and emotional moments of the day (IE - First look!). We had a large wedding party, and they knew what to do to take the lead and capture some incredible shots. They were able to manage through our loud, unruly relatives and get photos that will be passed down through generations. We truly couldn't be happier with our wedding photos. And, we are so impressed because they had them completed within a month of our wedding!
We also used Mood for our videography and cannot WAIT to see the completed video! -

Mike and his team are incredible and we are beyond happy with our wedding photos and video! I kept hearing from friends/family that choosing the right photographer makes all the difference -- and it's true. They captured the best moments of our day, and helped us look our best in every photo...there are literally NO bad photos from our day and that's a testament of their talent! In addition to photos, we hired them to do our video - which we're so glad we did - because it was well coordinated and turned out to be our favorite piece :) 100% recommend them to anyone who is planning a wedding because Mike, Meagan, and Troy are extremely talented, reliable, and personable! -

I worked with Mike (photo) and Troy (video) for my wedding. They were spectacular together. It was very difficult for me to find a team that does photo and video, plus had the style I wanted. MOOD was efficient, made me feel comfortable during my wedding day, and the photos and video came out better than I could have hoped for. I loved working with Mike, he was very hands on from the beginning and I enjoyed his style and personality. Highly recommend. -

Not only did he battle the embassy to get there, he tolerated my crazy family and wedding schedule once he arrived. I wanted photos in my dress with two hair styles, which he graciously accommodated. He managed to even make me and my (now) husband look and feel like models - not an easy feat when working with goofballs!
I have actually have had the honor of working with Mike in the wedding industry in my profession, and have to say, I am so happy I drug him all the way to Italy with me! Not only did I bring him for his professionalism and expertise in wedding photography, he also happens to be a lighting genious (which came in handy when we were running late and the sun went down!). He fit right in with the family and became apart of the many memories from the trip.
As you'd imagine, in choosing a destination wedding, photos are all that much more important to me and my family and I am confident I made the best choice when choosing Mile Purdy as our wedding photographer! Highly recommended! -

From the engagement session to the day of the wedding Mike Purdy made us feel comfortable and prepared for our photography sessions. He went above beyond what we expected and showed us a genuine interest in delivering the very best photos.
Mike and his crew were very professional and they were able to capture every meaningful moment and were very flexible with our timeline. The most important thing for me (the Groom) was that my bride (Katrina) felt calm and comfortable and Mike and his crew did the very best to accomplish that very thing. We didn’t use them for our engagement shoot, but when they arrived the day of the wedding they were on time and we connected instantly. They made us feel comfortable, taught us how to pose, and we were on schedule! Making payment was easy. Willing to work with your style or if you can’t decide they can help you.

Missing parent toasts, bridesmaid speeches, and walking down the aisle
Don't do it! We found Mood in Nov '17 as it is next door to Mon Amie where I got my dress. It was convenient (photo+video in one place). We liked what Mike showed us (samples) and he reassured he’s done hundreds of weddings and could shoot our Catholic ceremony + outdoor reception at Lake Oak Meadows in Temecula in May '18. We trusted him, booked it, and paid our deposit.
We made our mood board immediately with excitement to check off one more thing from our wedding to-dos. Mid-Jan ‘18 we reached out asking about our engagement shoot and got scheduled for February with Mike. We received the photos within the next week and loved the way these photos came out.
A month before the wedding an email survey to add timeline details was sent to us (impersonal and not what we were expecting especially after our initial encounter with Mike where he made us feel it was a small and intimate business).
Fast forward to May 26th (two days before our wedding) I emailed the studio to ask someone to call me so we could discuss our timeline. Finally, we talked on the phone and reviewed the timeline, not what I would have liked to be doing for the first time 2 days before our wedding.
On our honeymoon (2 weeks later) our photos were sent to us and enjoyed looking at our day through photos and seeing details we didn't get to enjoy the day of. However, after looking through them more, we noticed full veil shots (which there were plenty examples of all over our mood board) were not captured. I had a custom handmade veil which I was SO excited about. The romantic style from our engagement and our Mood board were not reflected in our photos. But fine we could live with that...
The BIGGEST DISAPOINTMENT is we hired Mike and his team for videography as well. Our contract included:
"1-Videographer
10-Hours of Coverage
1-Song, up to 5-mins long, (depending on song)
Aerial Drone Coverage (if permitted at venue) MISSING
Guest interviews, (best effort) MISSING
Full Ceremony on separate file PARTIAL
Full Speeches on separate file 5 OF 7 MISSING
1-TB Hard Drive"
The song music video provided was terrible unacceptable quality, it was basically a video of us posing for pictures. The video provided from our wedding: is partial and poor church footage, brother in law's toast, mine + my husbands thank you toast, and our DJ announcing the cake cutting, minus the cake cutting. (NOT at all worth 2,250 dollars)
It took 10 months for him to admit they are COMPLETELY MISSING:
1. My father’s toast (which was extremely emotional and raw as my grandfather was hospitalized 1 week prior and unable to attend)
2. My mother's toast
3. My husband's father's toast
4. My cousin's toast (maid of honor)
5. My best friends toast (2nd maid of honor)
6. Cake cutting
7. First look in the church on video, in addition, the camera was obviously set and left on a tripod, there are about 5 minutes where we are out of the shot and the video is recording empty chairs.
These were huge moments that are standard in most weddings, no clue where the videographer was for all of this.
If your expectation of wedding videography includes at a minimum:
- parent speeches/toasts
- bridal party toasts
- cake cutting
- walking down the aisle
Then DON'T HIRE MOOD, they are unreliable. After failing to provide our speeches, he’s said “not all of the speeches may not be covered depending on the videographers discretion”. He is trying to hide behind his contract, and he insists he provided us an “excellent product/service” and he “can't guarantee any specific shot requests on a live event”. What on earth was he hired for then? We regret using this company and would not recommend it to anyone. They botched our once in a lifetime memories. What's most upsetting is Mike has failed to admit fault, apologize, or fix it with a refund. We are not asking for something out of the ordinary or unique.
IF, you do choose to bypass my review and use Mood, I recommend allowing and encouraging guests to record and take pictures of everything. We never expected we would miss out on all of those memories. A year later, we are scavenging asking family and friends to send us the bits and pieces of the speeches/toasts because we have not heard them since our wedding day. I understand some (our parents and older generations do not have video of their weddings either) but we PAID and set aside a budget for these memories.
If you would like to see the “excellent” product, is referring to, message me and I’ll gladly (but embarrassingly) share what he provided.He offered high-res engagement+wedding images or go back to the venue to reshoot. What would we do with those? None of those make up for 35 minutes of once in a lifetime missed toasts. He took our money and all we have to show for it is:
- a choppy ceremony (where the tripod was set and left)
- two out of seven toasts (missing the critical parent and bridesmaid toasts)
If your memories are important to you, do not rely on Mood. Or have a backup because they might miss your critical moments and hide behind their contract.

A wedding Nightmare.
This review has been long overdue.
We unfortunately used their services for our wedding without doing our due diligence because it was conveniently located next to a bridal shop.
We were part of 6 couples that this horrific incident (that we know of )has happened to.
Rest assure the couples that this has happened to either got a refund or has taken them to litigations that they are not able to leave the complete autonomous review.
Long story short , PURE NEGLIGENCE from Mike Purdy and his Mood company for not backing up their system and loosing important video footage of our once in a lifetime experience.
I have read their response to other reviews and it’s evident that responsibility has not been taken as a business owner. As seen in other reviews on other platforms , instead of remorse and acknowledgment; we see responses such as giving wedding albums to remedy the problem.
We have asked for proof that the owner Mike Purdy has done their very best to pay a professional recovery IT service . Yet, no proof of such attempt has been provided.
I hope this review helps with just one couple not going through the heartache as we have and Not have to live without having their once in a lifetime wedding memories .
Do yourself a favor, pay the extra amount and choose a business with more experience and compassion.
