Best Value in Town. Beautiful music made our day special.

After comparing dozens of vendors, Monika consistently gave the best prices in DC, Maryland, and Virginia. She has an amazing repertoire and incredible professionalism. We love the way her harp music filled the room on our wedding day snd have nothing but positive things to say about the whole experience :)

Magical Wedding

Monika played for my daughter’s and new son in laws wedding and cocktail ceremony in September. Her music is truly magical! The bride and groom were very pleased with her music selection. Monika is very professional and responsive. She made the wedding very special and I would highly recommend her!

Wonderful Harpist for Outdoor Wedding

We hired Monika to play harp for our small, outdoor wedding ceremony at Tudor Place (the venue actually recommended her to us). She was very flexible and worked with us to create the perfect song list for our ceremony, and was even able to play some special, non-traditional songs by request. She was super professional and sounded fantastic - so happy to have worked with her for the wedding! I would recommend her to anyone who wants a harpist for their special occasion.

Monika is talented, beautiful, and professional. We hired her for our daughter's wedding ceremony and cocktail reception. Our guests raved about her. From the very beginning, she was delightful to work with. It was a fairy tale day with the most enchanting sounds to make the day spectacular! I highly recommend her!!

Monika was amazing! She made our ceremony and cocktail reception at the Willard Hotel absolutely beautiful. She was very easy to work with in helping us to select songs and make arrangements for the day of. We highly recommend her to make a wedding feel so special!

Monika was so great and easy to work with. She has a demos of her music for you to select so I was able to customize my ceremony and pre-reception to the music that I preferred. I had a special song that I wanted to walk down the aisle to, "Young and Beautiful", and she was willing and able to learn it. Now when I hear the regular version of the song I get emotional because Monika did such a beautiful rendition. I regret not having it recorded! She was one of the most memorable parts of our wedding. Beautiful and classy touch.

I am pleased to say I have had Monika perform at the celebration of all three of our children's weddings. She played at our daughter's cocktail hour before her wedding reception, as well as our son's rehearsal dinners. Monika is talented, accommodating, dependable, and very professional! She plays beautifully, yet allowed conversations among the guests not to be interfered with. She listened to my requests for what type of music and looked lovely while performing. Monika was a fantastic find for our wedding. She was very involved in our music selection process and provided great suggestions about certain pieces/composers that would be best for each section of the ceremony. She also went out of her way to learn several new and arguably obscure songs that we requested for the cocktail hour. Choosing Monika to play to for our wedding gave the whole night a classy, fun, and memorable atmosphere. My wife and I highly recommend Monika for any event!

Monika was great! The music at our ceremony was fabulous, and she was even able to find and perform arrangements of some more obscure pieces for us (one of which almost made me cry). She didn't give us a hard time when we missed a deadline, and I once we had our set list picked out, she took care of everything else.

My son got married in a courtyard type setting in the heart of historical Leesburg, VA. It was absolutely beautiful. Monika Vasey ("The Harpist") played at his wedding. We could not have made a better choice. Monkia is extremely professional and her musical talent is out of this world. Her music is absolutely beautiful. It was just perfect for the occasion. I would recommend Monkia any day and believe me you will not be disappointed. Thanks again Monika! You are great!

Monika played the harp for our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour and was truly wonderful! From the moment that we booked her she was very responsive and helpful. She provided us with an extensive song list to select music from and was able to pick music for our cocktail hour that fit the event perfectly. We received compliments from several of our guests about how beautiful the music was and how much they enjoyed watching Monika play. We would highly recommend Monika to anybody looking for a harpist for their event!

Monika was absolutely wonderful! We were very impressed with Monika's recordings and the variety of her repertoire. We spoke with her a couple times by telephone, and she was extremely personable and excited to perform for our wedding. Monika was flexible about timing and was amenable to learning new music for us. She even sent a sample of the score for us to confirm the correct version of the piece before she purchased it. We thought her rate was reasonable.

Before the wedding, we e-mailed Monika a timeline of our ceremony so she would know the order of everything and when music was necessary. She was very appreciative of the information, and her performance was flawless! Monika added such an incredible element to our beautiful wedding, and we are very grateful for her contributions. Monika is extremely talented, and we would highly recommend her to perform at functions for every occasion.

Monika was fabulous from the first moment we contacted her. She responsed within a couple hours to our initial email and then sent a five page list of songs, since we weren't sure what we wanted her to play. Of course, she was willing to play whatever we wanted. She expertly guided us on music selection.

On the day of the wedding, Monika arrived exactly on time, set up her harp and played beautifully!!!! Her music was absolutely exquisite!!!! Several of our guests actually commented on how beautiful the music sounded.

Throughout the planning process and actual wedding, Monika was caring, engaged, thoughtful, helpful and professional.

Having Monika play at your wedding is such the right choice!!!!

MONIKA WAS AMAZING! I hired Monika to play the harp for my wedding ceremony and cocktail hour and it was the best decision I made for my wedding! When the doors opened for me to walk down the aisle, I was beaming and almost burst into tears when I heard the music coming from the harp- it was so gorgeous, elegant, and absolutely magical. I think all of my guests were in tears too. Monika played Canon in D for me, which is what I had always dreamed of walking down the aisle to. Her price is really good. I thought i had wanted a string quartet, but it wasn't really in my budget, so I decided to have a harpist play and it honestly sounded so much better and had a way more elegant and romantic quality to it. The music filled the entire room which I think is another reason why it got everyone so emotional. Monika also played during the cocktail hour and I had several people come to me afterwards saying how great her song selections were. I'm so so so happy with how everything turned out!

Was one of the easiest parts of the wedding to arrange...we asked for some of the music to be uniquely synchronized with the ceremony and Monika did it perfectly no problem...the music was spot on; definitely raised the ambience of the occasion...make this the least stressful decision of your event

Monika was absolutely amazing! A couple people were telling me that just having one instrument at the ceremony would sound lonely (which of course is not the sound you want for a wedding ceremony) but I am SO glad I didn't listen and went with my gut about Monika. She was great to work with, very responsive, (especially considering I didn't contact her until less than a month from the wedding and she still worked with me even with the tight timeline) and really just a breeze to work with. I can't tell you how many of my guests came up to me at the reception saying how much they enjoyed the harpist and that it was just the perfect touch to the ceremony. Her price is AMAZING considering northern VA prices. I honestly was about to just use an ipod to play 'here comes the bride' I was so fed up with the outrageous prices for string instruments until I found her website. My husband and I were married in a small historic church so at first there was a concern about where she would play, but she was very flexible and fit perfectly at the front of the church. She was perfect, the harp was perfect, everything was perfect. She really set the tone for the wedding and, again, I highly recommend her.

Monika was great. I started looking for a harpist around 4 months before our June wedding. She also responded promptly and provided her repertoire which was really helpful in deciding songs to play. The songs I chose were a little nontraditional (Yiruma - A River Flows in You and A Thousand Years) but she had experience with both. She even learned a song for our recessional (Halo by Beyonce) which was gorgeous on the harp. Monika also responded quickly to last minute concerns and questions I had which was very helpful. The harp music was a perfect fit for our outdoor garden wedding and we highly recommend Monika!

Monika played for my daughter's winter wedding. We could not have been happier with her music. She provided the perfect accompaniment to this beautiful occasion. My daughter was flexible, and left the music choices to Monika. She played the perfect selections for the preamble, ceremony, and cocktail hour! She even wore a beautiful green gown to coordinate with the seasonal colors! We had a fun time and would recommend her highly!

Monica was fantastic! We were incredibly lucky to have her at my sister's wedding. She responded to me quickly and gave me suggestions for traditional music that is played at certain points in the ceremony. Her contract was easy to understand and she was extremely flexible. I am so happy that I found Monika Vasey and that she was available for my wedding. She brought my vision of a harp at my wedding to life. I have never heard such beautiful music - 6 months later and I still get teary-eyed when I think about walking down the aisle to her music! I highly recommend her.

Monika is amazing!!! We have sent emails back and forth prior to my ceremony, in regards to music and music line up. My wedding was more of a cocktail party, compared to a traditional wedding since we are a gay couple. She was quick to email respond, and was catering to the attire we had picked for our ceremony. She is all smiles, and with her extensive background she made it easier for me to not freak out. She arrived early for set up, played beautifully and stayed through the ceremony even when I told her to drink and eat. She is an amazing harpist, and person with incredible stage presents. All my guests loved her, and she talked with them about her background which I was so happy she felt comfortable to do. I was and still am, deeply honored to have had her play at my wedding. I wanna do it all over again just to have her play! My husband and I loved having her play at our wedding!

We loved working with Monika. Not only is she professional, responsive and creative, she is also very talented. We hired Monika to play ceremony music and cocktail hour at our wedding this past weekend. She was an absolute pleasure to work with and replied back to e-mails/text messages promptly. I realize how extremely busy musician schedules are so I really appreciated how quickly she was able to respond. We did have a playlist of songs we wanted for the ceremony, but we kind of trusted her judgment for the cocktail hour. She did an absolutely lovely job with everything, and even gave us advice on what songs would and would not work well for the ceremony.

Lastly, I want to add that it rained on our wedding day, and we were having an outdoor ceremony. The sky was already pretty overcast when the ceremony started, so I was expecting Monika to want to pack up and move everything inside to protect her instrument. Instead, she stuck it out and played throughout the ceremony and the cocktail hour. Monika, if you are reading this, I hope your instrument is okay!! Thank you so much for being part of our day!!

Monika was really amazing for our wedding. She was probably one of the easiest vendors to work with overall. She had a nice repertoire that she provided that you could choose from, but was very flexible in finding what you wanted if she didn't already have the music. Monika provided the music for our ceremony. Although we had never actually met; she was very professional and flexible to our needs for the day. During the ceremony, she played The Lord's prayer; it's the one piece of music I actually remember from the day. It was absolutely beautiful!

No wedding ceremony is complete without the sweet, serene music of a harp! I have known I would have a harpist at my wedding since the first time I heard the instrument many, many years ago, and choosing Monika was an easy choice because of her extreme talent as a trained harpist. Monkia is amazing! First and foremost, her music during our outdoor wedding ceremony was beautiful. She was a pleasure to work with and provided a lot of assistance to us in selecting our ceremony music. She understood the feel we were going for and really helped make our ceremony special.

Monika was a pleasure to work with. Since we were several states away from where our wedding was, we were able to Skype with her to work out the details of what we wanted. Our wedding was in December and it snowed throughout the day. Despite the weather, Monika was there on time and played beautiful music while guests arrived, during our ceremony, and for our cocktail hour. She was even able to adjust Canon in D so a specific part of the song played just as I walked down the aisle with my parents. Everything was perfect and I'm so glad we chose Monika to be a part of our wedding!

We hired Monika after reading all of her excellent reviews and speaking to her over the phone. She was kind, professional, incredibly easy to work with and totally delivered at the wedding. She actually went so far as to learn a few extra songs and practiced with a friend of ours so he could sing while she played! Everyone at our ceremony was blown away. What a wonderful person and musician!

We hired Monika to play her harp at our ceremony and it was absolutely beautiful. Everyone commented on how perfect the music was and its elegance. I found Monika's information on Wedding Wire and emailed her with my fingers crossed since my husband and I decided to hire a harpist last minute (about a month before the wedding date - it was the only last minute decision we made, thankfully!). Monika was so accomodating and very friendly. We are very happy that we chose her to play the harp. She dressed for the occassion and her harp is gorgeous. Her prices are great and she was a pleasure to work with. She arranged the arrival/set up with the Hotel Event Coordinator and I didn't have to do a thing! We recommend Monika to anyone and eveyone looking for a harpist. She is very talented and we were extremely pleased with our ceremony music.

Monika was a consummate professional. She was very good about getting back to us in a timely manner (even before the contract was signed) and she made the process of booking her very easy. We worked out many of the details over email and Monika was very acommodating. She even went the extra mile to find a solo harp version of a song we requested. On the day of the wedding, she showed up early and was quickly set up. We didn't interact with her much because we worked out the details earlier and we had a lot going on. But, it was great to not have to worry about her. She was a pleasure to work with and we would hire or recommend her in a heartbeat.

Go for it. Monika's music is beautiful and gives to any ceremony a magical feel. Monika played in my wedding and everybody loved it. It was also very easy to work with her, choose the music, and make all the arrangements. I'm very glad Infound her.

Thank goodness for Monika! She stepped in at the last minute, when my original harpist (who I booked a year in advance) cancelled less than a month before the wedding! Luckily, Monika was available to play at my wedding and the transition was uneventful. She was very easy to work with and smoothly coordinated playing a duet with my cousin as I walked down the aisle. It was such a magical moment! She played beautifully and truly made my vision a reality. Thank you Monika!

Monika is extremely talented and I was definitely not disappointed with quality of service she provided on the day of our wedding. One of my groom's favorite songs is "Eternal Flame" by the Bangles (what can I say he is a child of the 80's) and she bought the music and learned it on the harp a few months before the wedding. That was the song that was playing for my entrance and it sounded absolutely beautiful! I highly recommend Monika Vasey and we would love to have her play at any of our future events!
