Everything about our wedding cake from Monica—the taste, the look, the price—was perfect!
We came to Monica’s shop a day after having a tasting at a bigger, more commercial bakery the day before, and it was instantly clear that going with Monica was the choice for us. Each of the three flavor samples she prepared for us was so delicious, so the only tough decision was picking between her flavors!
We had a vision for the type of design we wanted, so we provided Monica with some reference images and requested a few minor tweaks. Monica dropped the cake off with our caterer on the day of the wedding, so we didn’t see it until it was time to cut into it on the night of our reception, and we were soooo happy with how it turned out – our vision come to life! And our guests were raving about how good it tasted – even those who usually don’t love wedding cake!
We saved half of our cutting cake (wrapped up in the freezer) and we can’t wait to taste it once again on our anniversary! -

Monica makes the BEST cakes! She has so many flavor options that are customizable and everything is delicious. Guests loved our cake! She was flexible, communicated well, is fairly priced. She also gave us an extra little container of icing for a family member who loves icing since we got a nearly naked cake. Definitely recommend her for your dessert needs! -

Monica is amazing to work with! She has a lot of great flavor options. We got to test out three cupcake flavors. We ended up going with lavender vanilla, cookies n cream, and smores. THEY WERE A HIT! Our friends and family are still talking about how delicious they were. And we got a complementary 6in cutting cake. Her services were affordable and exceeded expectations. We would definitely recommend working with Monica -

Monica did a phenomenal job with our wedding cake. She was extremely communicative and helpful with ideas and advice. She is very knowledgable and you can tell she really enjoys her craft. And the cake was absolutely delicious! We're super happy and grateful to Monica for everything! -

Most delicious cake & cookies!!!
Monica’s creations were a highlight at our wedding! She created a beautiful & delicious collection for our tasting when we weren’t quite sure what direction we wanted to take our dessert options- solely cake, cookies, or dessert table. Right away, the lavender vanilla cake with lemon cream cheese frosting was the winner!
Drafting our order was so easy with Monica. She provided multiple options to satisfy our guest count and was willing to talk through how to accomplish various possibilities of decoration based on online photos. Monica was so forthcoming to respond to all of our questions! We finalized, but then started debating a change as we approached our final change/ payment date due to the number of our guests that shared dietary restrictions when rsvp-ing for the wedding.
Monica was awesome in her willingness to experiment in the kitchen to come up with gluten free AND dairy free cookie flavors. She came up with some delicious options and allowed us to amend our order to best suit the needs for our wedding. On the day of the wedding, we blinked and the cookies were GONE to happy guests while the caterers could hardly cut the cake fast enough for the guests clamoring to try it. We can’t wait to have another taste of the lavender vanilla cake on our first anniversary! -

Monica was our baker for our wedding
We used Monica for a wedding, and she was absolutely wonderful! Our cake was beautiful and she was super easy and great to work with. She also made us a huge dessert table, and everyone has been telling me they were the best cupcakes they’ve ever had. Definitely recommend her for any event! -

Monica makes the BEST wedding cakes! I had guests coming up to me telling me how delicious it was and how it was the best cake they have ever had at a wedding! My mom now wants to get all her cakes from Monica.
Monica was so flexible and responsive with me and my husband during rescheduling our wedding THREE times due to covid! I loved working with Monica! I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend her and her talent! She really was amazing and dealing with me and Mike changing our minds on the cake a couple of times since covid changed our original plans.

She is so friendly! She has so many flavors to choose from and they are all delicious! She set up everything and we even have an anniversary cake for our 1 year!!! Everything was beautiful and delicious!! -

Monica is absolutely delightful. We did a tasting at her studio and everything we tried was SO good. We got a three tiered cake and it looked beautiful on our wedding day! We had to reschedule our wedding due to COVID and she was very flexible working with us to secure our new date. We also ordered mini desserts from Monica: chocolate mousse bombs, cream puffs, cherry streusel tarts, and assorted truffles. All of the dessert items and the cake were incredible! Our guests were coming up to us all weekend to tell us how yummy the cake and each dessert was. Monica was easy to work with and very knowledgeable helping us decide on the right size cake/dessert amount for our guest count. We would highly recommend Monica’s Sugar Studio for your wedding cake/dessert!! Or honestly, for any occasion you are looking to make more delicious!! She’s awesome! -

Words cannot describe the compliments we received from out guests about our cake! Monica is so incredible! She was flexible with my husband and I, as we were 4 hours away, and was able to schedule meetings through our times of traveling back to Frederick. She was an easy pick after the first tasting and deciding on the chocolate chip cake (MUST TRY)! Her delivery was so efficient and thoughtful. Monica delivered our cake as close to the reception as possible because of the cold weather (in the 40s on 11.01.19)! She wanted to make sure the buttercream was not hardened at the time of cake cutting. I couldn't recommend her anymore! -

Monica was great to work with from the start. It was so hard narrowing down our flavors from the tasting, because we loved them all! Our guests loved the cupcakes and kept asking were we got them from. Monica even did a small cutting cake for us, which was adorable. -

My husband and I aren't big dessert eaters. We went to taste cakes to please our guests. When we tasted Monica's cakes, we couldn't stop eating them. My husband finished each of his tasting cupcakes. We had carrot cake, cranberry chai, pineapple, and chocolate cupcakes at our wedding. Our guests raved about them! Monica makes amazing and incredibly reasonably priced cakes. We would absolutely recommend her. -

I've been to some weddings where the cake seemed to be more for show than taste, but that's definitely not the case here. The cakes (both a regular cake and cupcakes) she made for our wedding were both delicious and beautiful. 100% recommend. -
Amber Sent on 04/07/2018Monica’s cupcakes were delicious! We first had a tasting and we chose three cupcake flavors that we wanted to try off of her website. All of them tasted amazing and it was definitely hard to choose only a few flavors for my wedding! I loved all of the examples of cakes/cupcakes she showed us. It helped us decide what we wanted for our wedding. Her prices are very reasonable. The presentation of her cake and cupcakes were amazing! My guests also loved her cupcakes. She delivered my cupcakes during cocktail hour instead of at the beginning of my wedding because it was 90 degrees that day and she wanted to keep them out of the heat. I would definitely recommend using her for your wedding!

It looked beautiful and most importantly, tasted delicious! She has a wide variety of flavors to choose from and we were able to have three different ones for our cake, and all were excellent. We got many compliments on the cake from our guests! She is also very reasonably priced, especially compared to many other vendors in the area. Definitely give Monica's cakes a try, they won't disappoint!
