Top Takeaway: Our wedding day would not have been as particularly and perfectly us without Cait and Chelsea at Modern Rebel. They took seriously our devotion to blending our families’ cultures and history into the aesthetic and spirit of the day, and they found vendors who not only respected but celebrated that commitment in their own professional expertise and expert execution.
Prep Process: Cait and Chelsea paced the wedding planning process so that we had enough time to consider every tiny detail without every choice being overwhelming. Their onboarding process ensures that every element is covered, including details we never even knew to consider. They developed a Trello workspace that mapped out every month, every task, and every question we would cover over the course of a year. Every time we had a question about the next step, Cait already had a spreadsheet, questionnaire, or form prepared to document and structure our next move.
Investment and Value: The overwhelming abundance of wedding vendors is the biggest reason we sought a wedding planner. We needed a partner and a guide to interpret our desires and connect us with the best professionals who would not only align with but celebrate and enhance the vision for our wedding. Cait and Chelsea overdelivered. Their vendor matching process was thorough, considerate, creative, and responsive. From deep experience, they know who will really connect with you. It’s not just a simple vibe match, it’s finding people with an artistic practice that resonates with you – photographers, florists, musicians, stylists, stationers – and they understand how to take the amorphous desires of completely green people and translate them into concrete asks. They built an experience that was more than the sum of its parts.
Creativity: Cait and Chelsea treated every out-of-left-field idea seriously and saw a way to add it to our vision while staying true to our mantra: warm, thoughtful, and cohesive. We joked about, among other things, a sweetheart bench instead of chairs for our table; an art installation that captured the “invisible strings of love” instead of a guest book; to incorporate bingo into our escort cards; to project a video on a massive wall for our grand entrance. In Cait and Chelsea’s hands, every small wish became a reality. They took us seriously, asked “Why not?”, and they made it happen in grander fashion than we could’ve fathomed. -

My partner and I came into wedding planning feeling pretty cool, calm, and collected; we’d lined up our key vendors, we had a venue and a photographer, we were aligned on our priorities, things felt good. But my wise bestie said that having a wedding coordinator was one of the best decisions she’d ever made, worth every penny, and suggested I look into it. I am so glad we did and I am so glad we found Jamie through Modern Rebel Marketplace.
As a queer/trans couple, we knew we wanted a queer coordinator, who was not going to force a “bridal party” this and a “daddy-daughter dance” that, and who would respect everyone’s pronouns, etc. The consultation is where the magic happened. Jamie honestly just glowed. It’s so clear how much they earnestly love to celebrate love. They asked us our story, and listened deeply. They told us that their goal when coordinating is for the couple to be guests at their own wedding, so that all of the work would be either done or on someone else. We laughed together, we talked about our animals and our signs, about what’s important to us. It felt like we were already friends, but with next steps and follow-up emails. :)
I sincerely do not think that we could have had the wedding we had dreamed of, had it not been for Jamie. They are the perfect balance of effusive joy and experienced stage manager. They are professional, confident, and honest––asking questions we never thought of during a final venue walkthrough with all the vendors. They are adaptable, open, and when it comes to getting all the details down to build out the day-of timeline, will (kindly, sweetly) not take no for an answer. Where I am prone to panic and overthinking, and my partner is prone to trusting things will happen, Jamie danced that gorgeous tightrope and kept us even-keeled in the leadup to the day, asking all the right questions of all the right people without needless meetings or stress.
It is so easy to trust Jamie, and they made 100% good on their promise to let us be guests at our own wedding. We were blissfully unaware of anything happening behind the scenes as we sailed through the day. Somehow, too, they blended seamlessly in with our wedding guests, and we felt like they were part of the party even as they were giving us five-minute warnings and reminding us we had to eat. It’s no surprise that Jamie’s assistant, Bea, was amazing as well. If I had to do it all over again, I would book Jamie ten times out of ten. No matter what norms your wedding is following or breaking, Jamie will bring boundless joy, care, excitement, knowledge, and organization to your celebrations. -

Can you give fifteen stars? One hundred? That's how many I'd share for the oasis of calm Modern Rebel's incredible professionals brought to our wedding day. We worked with Molly for month-of coordination. I am a producer by trade (which is basically events work, with lots of moving parts) and it felt key to be able to hand over the reins with confidence to someone else to execute on our day. From our first call with Modern Rebel they really "got it" - conventional enough container with some personal flourishes, embracing the uniqueness of our event and the wonderful people attending it. Molly went above and beyond also managing some tricky emotional terrain with a bully vendor, showing up at a restaurant to wrangle our 40 person processional for a rehearsal, and was just an absolutely solid, calming presence with her care, professionalism, and amazing attitude. We were in excellent hands and I have sung Modern Rebel's praises to everyone from the moment they get engaged - the best investment for our event was the peace of mind and brilliant execution that has had our 220+ guests raving that ours was the best wedding they've ever attended. Huge love to this crew! -

Molly @ MR was our absolute hero. Sometimes, you meet someone you connect with instantly who is so genuine and kind, and you know you need them in your orbit. Our very first call with Molly was 5 months out from our wedding, and it was like breathing a huge sigh of relief. Wedding planning is hard and stressful work -- and there are so many timelines and articles on the internet telling you you are always behind on something. To have a friendly face on our team who was there support us, tell us we're doing great, give us our own PERSONAL timelines, coordinate with our vendors, be there for all of our questions -- was something we were so grateful to have. We booked their coordination package, and will never forget Molly saying that at 60 days out, their goal is for us to enjoy the days leading up to the wedding rather than feel stressed. You don't get those days back! That really stuck with us and rang true!
On the day of the wedding, Molly and Mina were on top of everything. We saw them running around and working hard, but somehow Molly was always there when I turned around needed her for a hug, or a smile, or a tide pen, or a much needed glass of champagne. She is incredibly committed but also calm, cool and collected.

We had the absolute pleasure of working with Caitlin from the Modern Rebel team and to say we couldn’t have done it without her is an understatement. She got to know us, listened to all the (vague) ideas of what we wanted and created the most perfect weekend we could’ve asked for. Each question, issue or tough decision we came to, she was there to help walk us through it and remind us of what was important. Throughout the weekend of our wedding, Caitlin kept the events flowing so seamlessly that neither us nor our parents had a second to question if something might be wrong. On top of being such a rockstar at her job, Caitlin also happens to be the most calm, fun, cool, genuine person there is. Each call with her felt like talking to a friend and my husband and I have already said we’ll miss monthly meetings with her. Like how rare is that??

Molly from Modern Rebel was absolutely incredible in helping plan and execute our wedding. From the start, she was on top of every detail, including coordinating with all of our vendors. When we faced challenges with our cake vendor, Molly didn't hesitate to go above and beyond--offering to deliver the cake to the venue herself. Her dedication was remarkable.
On the day of the wedding, she and her team stepped up in ways we couldn't have imagined. We forgot a dress at the hotel, and she had it retrieved during the middle of the wedding without a hitch. Molly was endlessly patient with our friends and family, especially when it came to providing reminders (which our family needed quite a bit!). She handled all the aisle logistics like a pro, making sure everyone knew exactly where to stand and when to walk.
Her attention to detail was unmatched--something as small as ensuring our tablecloths were perfectly crisp didn't go unnoticed. She was incredibly flexible and solution-oriented, finding a better location for our seating chart and even improvising to pin up our aura sign when there was no table available.
One of the most impressive things was that at the end of the night, Molly remembered to gather all the items we needed to take home such as my wife's flower bouquet which we had forgotten to add to the list! Her thoughtfulness ensured nothing was left behind.
Molly's calm and friendly demeanor made the entire experience stress-free for us. We couldn't have asked for a better planner, and she truly made our day perfect. If you're looking for someone who goes above and beyond, Molly is your person! -

Words can’t express our gratitude to Modern Rebel. When we started this process, we were overwhelmed and nervous. We had a million ideas but no direction or experience with execution. We had been guests to countless weddings, but we had no idea what kind of work it took to pull off something so seamlessly.
Working with MR has been the absolute highlight of the entire experience.
MR - You all are kind, hard-working, reliable, responsive, and, most importantly, focused on us and prioritized our experience above all else. You encouraged us to choose experiences that felt like us, forget the ones that don’t, and focus on our relationship first and foremost. You made us feel seen, heard, and understood, and you went to bat for us numerous times.
One of our guests said that our wedding felt like the most authentic wedding they had ever been to — and I think that speaks volumes to your work. Not to mention, we had the time of our life.
Michelle - the vision that you executed was beyond compare. You took our vague and abstract ideas and turned them into a concrete vision. You connected us with vendors that would execute everything we wanted and more. We had the perfect combination of Bushwick, the mountains, and the hills of New Zealand. Our personal touches - the designs of our family and friends - made the night even more special.
Caitlin - where do we even begin? You are magical. You built a day that was about us and the things we care about the most - celebrating and having fun with our families and friends. You kept us focused on the most important things throughout the process. You kept us calm when forces (see: weather forecast) and people (see: venue staff) tested our patience. Saturday was the best day of our lives - from the big picture to the tiny details like when you would appear with water every time we silently felt a little dehydrated. You allowed us to focus on what was most important to us - each other - by taking care of everything else. And most importantly, you are kind and FUN and we had an absolute blast. So many of our friends are STILL talking about how “cool and chill and fun” our planner was and are trying to get you to hang out with us more (we agree). If you are looking for a contemporary wedding planner who pushes the boundaries to make your wedding personal, sets aside the stuffy traditions, and keeps things in perspective, it has to be Modern Rebel! If you want a lead wedding planner who combines professionalism with a personal touch, we wholeheartedly recommend Brittany.
While searching for a wedding planner, we wanted something far beyond the typical, cookie-cutter approach, to help bring our non-traditional wedding to life.
We had grand visions of saying our vows on a hot July day surrounded by loved ones on a boat sailing around the tip of Manhattan, followed by champagne sabering, and photos with smoke sticks, all while being serenaded by Spanish guitarists. For the night-time, we wanted to host a full-on, Motown infused dance session, and transform the windowless ballroom ‘party-bunker’ into a color-blocked, light-changing, night club, entertained by a talented band.
Modern Rebel brought that vision to life, which is A LOT of life to create!. They listened to all of our ‘out-there’ creative ideas and delivered something that wowed our guests all while keeping our feet and budget firmly on the ground with their experienced advice. We loved how personal they not only made ‘the day’, but the whole wedding planning experience, from day one when we created our ‘marriage mantra’, to the days after the wedding recalling the highlights.
We can’t say enough good things about Brittany, our lead wedding planner. From day one, Brittany was a delight to work with. Her easygoing nature made planning feel like an ongoing conversation with a friend, yet she was also firm with vendors when necessary, ensuring everything stayed on track.
Unfortunately she needed to be stern more than she might have liked with one particular vendor but she struck the right balance of keeping us informed while managing the issues behind the scenes so as not to create any stress. Brittany also came up with creative ideas to manage our vision within our budget, including finding an experienced photography duo that perfectly the matched the vibe we were looking for.
On our wedding day, Brittany’s behind-the-scenes work was truly invaluable, as she traveled from Williamsburg to Southstreet Seaport and back, coordinating multiple vendors, tactfully making sure our wedding party was always where they needed to be, and even helped the bride to change into some comfortable shoes at the end of the night! The efforts of Brittany, Michelle, and Kara allowed us to fully enjoy the day without a hitch. -

Our experience of working with Molly from MR was nothing short of amazing! From the initial meeting to the wedding day itself, Molly was so incredibly patient, organized, and calming. We worked with Modern Rebel for day-of coordination and could not have asked for a more stellar experience. Molly was thoughtful, reassuring, and so on board with our offbeat ideas. My husband and I wanted to flip the script on a few more "traditional" wedding things and instead of pushing back, the Modern Rebel team wanted to push us to keep reinventing our wedding to be uniquely us. There were several DIY details to our wedding that Molly and her team were able to riff off of, like figuring our the flower distribution, table settings, disco ball installation, and our friend's art textile dye installation. On our wedding day, we had a few check ins with Molly but ultimately both of us knew we were in SUCH good hands and WOW what a beautiful space we walked into when we saw the venue day of. Modern Rebel is the real freakin’ deal. Molly helped us from the very beginning to end and is not only incredible at what she does, but is also a genuinely kind, caring, & fun human being!! We loved getting to know her throughout the Love Party planning process. She took the time to get to know us and helped bring our vision to life, making our Love Party the most special celebration with all of our loved ones. From heart shaped chocolate chip cookies to a bubble exit to a late-in-the-game switch from head table to sweetheart table — Molly was always open to our ideas & handled everything that came her way with ease. Throughout the Love Party planning process, people kept asking us how we were feeling, were we stressed? overwhelmed? anxious? Our response was always the same — the feelings at the forefront were always excitement over stress! It’s hard to come up with sufficiently glowing praise for the Modern Rebel team. As a queer couple, we entered the wedding-planning process worried about how the wedding industry often comes with narrow-minded assumptions at best or outright exclusivity at worst. It was – and we can’t stress this enough – absolutely game-changing (not just for our wedding, but for the last 2 years of our life writ large) to have a team who understands this and actively seeks to change it. This initially drew us to Modern Rebel, and as we worked with them over the past two years, we kept finding more reasons to love them. They provided the most amazing vendor suggestions, they quickly problem-solved for us when we raised concerns, they patiently educated us when we were clueless about wedding-world things, and they enthusiastically celebrated us and our partnership every step of the way. They’re knowledgeable, incredibly organized, and impressively efficient – we felt like we were in the best hands the whole time.
Amy, Caitlin, and Michelle’s expert-level planning ensured that our “love party” not only appeared effortlessly-run, but also so very “us.” They took time to creatively come up with the alternative aisle arrangements after we asked them to, embraced our unorthodox requests re: party props and favors, and made our planning process fun and exciting rather than stressful. A special shout out to our (best-named) team: Michelle’s incredible eye and insight brought our vision for the night to life, creating a truly stunning and unique combination of bold colors, fun neon lights, and a ton of props. Caitlin was the best third teammate (and coach) we could have possibly imagined. She listened attentively to what we wanted and then executed perfectly. She impressed us by not just being amazing at her job but also amazing to be around — both our families and all our friends have raved about how professional, kind, fun, and impressive she was! To be able to work with someone who combined incredible professional expertise with genuine excitement to celebrate us as a couple meant the world to us.
Thanks to Modern Rebel, we showed up to our wedding night and saw an event that reflected who we are, a well-run party that let our loved ones have the time of their lives, and also on top of all this, a planning team we like so much that we genuinely wanted to have them at our wedding. Modern Rebel, and our planner Brittany Ward, deserve all the credit for planning, designing, and coordinating the best day of my life. I cannot speak highly enough of this company and of Brittany. They immediately "got" our slightly out-there vision, and were as stoked as we were to bring it to life. They are experts in the NYC wedding space. I didn't have to do any research for vendors - they already knew the best ones within my price range. Brittany was truly a joy to work with and was always happy and energetic, even when I was nervous. Brittany planned and coordinated everything so perfectly that my family and I really just got to show up and experience my wedding day along without any stress or drama. I would 100% recommend working with Modern Rebel and Brittany no matter what your style or vision is, but especially for alternative couples looking to throw non-traditional weddings. They make no assumptions about what a wedding "needs" to be, and full heartedly throw themselves into creating the day and the party that you want. 13/10 would recommend 😻 -

We picked Modern Rebel based on a recommendation from a friend and they did not disappoint. They were thoughtful, attentive, creative, organized, and generally stellar at making our wedding, or in their parlance love party, dreams come true. We were consistently impressed with how well structured their planning process is from the initial detail oriented surveys meant to capture our specific aesthetic desires to thoughtful and well run meetings throughout the process, Brittany was a superstar. Michelle’s plans perfectly captured our unique style starting from her very first vibe book all the way through to the final results. The vendors we were matched with were out of this world in both design and quality, and we could not have asked for a better team to make our day special. You know your wedding planners rule when you wish they were the ones running your work meetings. If Brittany ran all of our meetings, our lives would be so much more organized.
We cannot thank the Modern Rebel team enough for everything they did for us. We wholeheartedly and without reservation recommend Modern Rebel to anyone planning a love party of their own. -

My wife and I had such an amazing love party, and if it weren't for Amy and her team our brains would have imploded under the stress of putting it all together. The Modern Rebel team played every role imaginable, vendor sourcers, designers, therapists, and more, to help us get to the finish line. Everything was taken care of on the day and came together beautifully, and our only job was to enjoy it and make wonderful memories with our family and friends. What else could you ask for? Huge thanks to Molly and Mina at Modern Rebel for everything they did to make our October 2023 wedding magical. Modern Rebel was recommended by our venue — the two had worked together many times before, which was apparent from the get-go. Together, our venue and Modern Rebel were a well-oiled machine. We started working with Molly as our primary wedding coordinator about a month out, but even before the 30-day mark, she was open to answering some of our preliminary questions. I was a pretty anxious bride, in part because we were merging families from two cultures and there were a lot of high expectations. It was hard for me to "let go" a little, and Molly was very flexible and went with the flow with whatever we needed — if I had to double check something myself, if I had another extra question, etc. At the same time, Molly very gently reminded me a couple times that essentially it was okay for me to relax a little and that she would take care of vendor communication: "That's what we are here for."
On the day of, Molly took the reins from the moment she arrived. She put out fires and came up with solutions to problems behind the scenes in ways that we didn't even know about until later. For example, my sister had a babysitter who had to eat her vendor meal earlier than anticipated, and Molly was immediately on it to make sure that she got her food even though it was a stressful change to the schedule. She was cool-headed when she let us know that the kitchen was behind on serving dinner, and because she was coolheaded, we were, too. Even though dinner took a little longer than anticipated, we actually got back on track with our schedule, even after we asked for 10 extra minutes to do toasts with our guests at their tables. Another issue that arose: Despite all of the things we remembered to bring (curling iron, Band-Aids, extra pens, etc.), we completely forgot our sparklers!! I was fully prepared to accept the possibility that we might just need to have our guests wave their hands in celebration for our exit at the end of the night, but somehow Molly and our venue worked together to find sparklers elsewhere in town! They definitely went above and beyond to make our dreams come true. Thank you, Molly and Modern Rebel! -

We owe all our thanks to Modern Rebel from the bottom of our hearts for making our wedding the best day of our lives. We know it’s cliche, and maybe another day might replace it down the road, but our Love Party was truly the most special day we’ve ever had. Modern Rebel made that happen for us, and in such a short amount of time. We could not have pulled this wedding off without them, plain and simple. The finished product was beyond our wildest dreams and the process itself of planning with their team is so easy and also seriously fun! They hooked us up with the most amazing people; DJ, flowers, photographer, videographer, hair and makeup, bus service, cake-- the list goes on. Everyone they trusted, we trusted, and it all worked out seamlessly. They designed something so unique and so us and really listened to everything we wanted. Modern Rebel made everything so easy for us and made it look effortless which we know it was not. We have to imagine they carried so much stress behind the scenes, making sure everything was taken care of, without ever letting us feel any of that stress, and that is a truly magical quality and what makes Modern Rebel invaluable to the process. As two jaded New Yorkers, we put our trust in them implicitly from start to finish, which is really saying something. And it paid off. We had multiple people tell us the night of the wedding, and even a week after, that our wedding was the most beautiful celebration of love and joy that they’d ever witnessed. If you want to plan the best party of your dreams, and feel heard and supported and taken care of throughout the entire process, and work with the coolest team with the best approach to 'wedding planning', go with Modern Rebel. Molly is a gift from the universe and made our day run so smoothly that I got to enjoy every moment! I might be the only bride in the world who didn't notice a single thing going wrong during their wedding– and I attribute that entirely to Molly and Shaine.

We were lucky enough to work with Molly and Shaine from Modern Rebel as "day-of" coordinators for our August 2023 wedding. Molly took over all vendor communications starting 30 days before our event. Molly inspired instant trust with her obvious expertise and clarity about the process. She gave clear schedules for when things would happen and alerted us to a huge oversight in our planning process until then. We were provided with clear and thorough forms and tables to fill out; it was obvious how completely the Modern Rebel team thinks about event planning.
The day of organization was so comprehensive I literally felt like a wedding guest and had to try to remember it was my wedding. Molly handled several unexpected happenings the day of (e.g., gale force winds, a collapsed cake, etc.) with verve, always coming to us with clear descriptions of the issue and a solution already in motion or the exact thing we needed from her "emergency kit." Molly was our coordinator for our June 2023 wedding, and because of her we truly had the wedding of our dreams. Numerous times throughout the planning process, my husband and I said to each other that Brittany and Modern Rebel were the best money we could’ve spent. First let me say that outside of being our wedding planner, we spent so much time with Britany and Michelle that they started to become like family. All my friends and knew their names, at the wedding everyone wanted to meet Brittany and I’m still getting comments about how great she was.
Brittany and Michelle literally took every single outlandish (what i thought was outlandish) idea we had that wouldn’t really made out wedding feel like OUR wedding and brought it to life, but in an even better way than either of us could’ve imagined.
Brittany literally saved the day MULTIPLE times throughout the process… when we found out 6 months before the wedding our venue was closing, Brittany found us another venue for the same date and we were abel to keep all of our vendors. I didn’t want a bouquet, so they got me a balloon. Our tattoo artist pulled out, up until a day before the wedding Brittany was still working with another artist (it was too last min for her to get a COI in time). For our desserts, we were having ice cream from Ample Hills, 4-5 months before the wedding we found out they closed and didn’t tell anyone. Brittany found us the original vendors and they were able to come to the wedding.
What i loved about Brittany and Michelle was that nothing was a big deal, even if it actually was, they never made me feel like they were panicking or things weren’t under control, even when i needed to completely reorder all my invitations because i put the wrong stamps on. Everything was doable and I already miss them. I would 1000% recommend Brittany, Michelle and Modern Rebel every. single. time. -

I am so glad we found Modern Rebel!! We hired them for day-of coordination, which included communication with our coordinator (Caitlin!! Our rock and our lifesaver!!!) for 30 days prior to our wedding, but the materials they provide to all of their couples was helpful through our entire planning process! They were the second vendor we booked after our venue, and I'm so glad because their welcome packet included a planning timeline that we treated like a BIBLE and a list of recommended vendors which we used to find like 90% of our vendors. Our respect for them and their process only grew once we started meeting with Caitlin 30 days out. Caitlin took the many different puzzle pieces that we had gathered and made them fit together so perfectly which was our biggest concern going into an event that was so much bigger than anything I or my partner had ever planned before. She took the time to familiarize herself with our needs and hopes for our big day in a way that made us feel so cared for and supported. Our wedding was so incredibly perfect and magical and a huge part of that was how smoothly it ran thanks to Caitlin and Modern Rebel. About a week before the wedding, I had a moment where I realized that I could stop being so super stressed, because I felt confident that we were in good hands and that all the little details were going to be taken care of. Being able to let go of that stress really made the days leading up to our wedding so much more enjoyable, and I'm so thankful for that. But perhaps the highest recommendation came from one the members of my bridal party, who is 1000% single and has been for a while, who by the end of the evening was demanding that Caitlin coordinate for his entirely hypothetical wedding to someone someday. Modern Rebel and Amy were amazing, we can’t say enough praise about them. Amy worked with us for over a year, guiding us through big decisions and helping us visualize our ideas with all the amazing vendors. When we first met with Amy, we thought we had challenging criteria, we wanted a huge modern, well-designed space, an insane dance party and to have as many BIPOC & women-owned businesses as possible. Modern Rebel delivered exactly that, pairing us up with amazing vendors, designers, and performers and helping us find moments to make it feel exclusively ‘us’ in the process. We told people the whole time that planning our wedding would have been impossible without her.
One thing we will really miss is our monthly check-ins and having someone be so present with us while planning such a special day for ourselves and our families. Working with Modern Rebel for our wedding was truly the best decision we could have made! Amy (Modern Rebel founder and our head planner/coordinator) and her team (Adriana for planning, Brit for day-of) enabled us to create wedding events that were truly “us”, not anyone else’s definition of what a wedding should be.
While we were excited to get married, neither of us felt very connected to a lot of wedding traditions, which is why we chose Modern Rebel to help us craft our celebration. They helped us design a casual, intimate ceremony with no march down an aisle and lots of family and friends participation and then a rocking cocktail-style party, exactly what we wanted.
For the planning phase Modern Rebel's support made the planning process actually fun instead of stressful.
For the actual event coordination, Amy and her team were truly rockstars! Our goal was to have the most fun possible at all of our wedding events and we really did. We did not worry at all about any of the details on the week of the wedding, we completely got to relax and enjoy the experience. Amy handled several day-of bumps (some we were aware of, like a surprise rain shower, and probably many more we had no idea about) completely seamlessly and with confidence, enabling us to spend the time before the party getting ready with our friends without any worries.
Finally, Amy and her team were always on the lookout for little extra ways to make our day special and easy, and these really mattered. For example, when I popped into the restroom just before the ceremony, Brit ran to grab my bouquet so I could have it as I re-entered the space for the ceremony, adding a beautiful touch to the effortless and casual ceremony entrance I had planned. Amy also mailed our signed marriage license for us after the ceremony - one less thing to worry about! -

We hired the Modern Rebel team for month-of coordination and some partial planning services -- since we started planning at the height of COVID, we needed some help finding our reception band and a second venue (for the "reception"/dance party portion of our wedding). Both were well worth the investment.
Amy helped with the partial planning services and she gave us several options for each vendor that hit the mark and that we would not have found ourselves, including the vendors we ultimately booked that were perfect for what we wanted.
Charlotte was our head coordinator and she was fantastic. She is clearly very experienced, communicative and flexible, so kind and lovely to work with, but firm when she needed to be (which is a must!). She made sure that things stayed true to our vision, but was happy to offer advice or suggestions. In the month leading up to the wedding (which I learned would be the most daunting and stressful planning period for me), she kept us on track and helped navigate the final steps of planning. One of many examples: we had some vendor schedule challenges pop up last minute, and Charlotte quickly removed me from the equation and handled it directly with the vendors -- I LOVED THIS. The feeling of totally letting go and having Charlotte 100% manage the day of was invaluable. I fully trusted Charlotte to do her thing and she did not disappoint - our wedding day was perfect! -

Being able to trust that they would manage the day and troubleshoot any problems, my husband and I were able to immerse ourselves fully in our once-in-a-lifetime day and be truly present. At the end of the night when Adriana was leaving, we were genuinely sad to say goodbye but just so grateful to have worked with her. Rebels with a Cause
Gosh, how to convey all that Amy and the Modern Rebel team did for us? They helped pair us with fantastic vendors, our florist, photographers, and DJ; they coordinated seamlessly with the venue and caterers; they talked us through the process and made absolutely clear that our wedding was ours, and we could do it our own way. Amy and Adriana are both whip-smart, super organized, and just plain fun to chat with. And when given the somewhat difficult brief “classic… but eclectic” by my husband, they rose to the occasion.
Day of, Amy and Sarah were absolute dreams. On a day that can feel both hectic and hazy, they very graciously guided us where we needed to be, when we needed to be there. All while keeping track of gifts, rings, photo shoots, a ketubah, and the occasional roving family member.
And one parting anecdote: After our ceremony, but before the reception began, they’d prepared a little space for us to escape to, complete with hor d'oeuvres and two fizzing glasses of champagne—a pocket of quiet to take it all in. It was a small touch, but such a thoughtful one, and it might be my favorite memory of the day. -

My wife & I originally hired Modern Rebel for a small dinner style wedding in June/2020. The restaurant did not have a coordinator, so we figured it was something we needed. I initially had a phone call with Cait in 2019 and loved her vibe, so we booked them. Fast forward to March of 2020, we cancelled our wedding. We originally rescheduled to October of 2020 which Modern Rebel accommodated without an issue. As we approached the summer of 2020, we realized we needed to push it an entire year, so we rescheduled to October 2021. Modern Rebel was so easy to work with and very flexible with changing the dates. I then learned that Cait was no longer at Modern Rebel and we would need a new coordinator. The email indicated a new coordinator would be in contact once it got closer. I started reading through the reviews again, and saw that so many people wrote amazing things about Britt Ward. I knew I wanted to request her and was hoping she was available for our new date. When I heard back that she was, I was so excited!
In around August of 2021, our invitations went out before our formal kick off coordination call. I emailed Britt to see if she could help me with the Google doc for vaccination cards, IDs, and the health info that our venue required. Britt immediately responded with the Google doc template and answered a ton of questions I had at that point.
Around this same time, the coordinator I absolutely loved at our wedding venue left. We started working with a new lady who seemed disorganized and I was very anxious and upset about the whole situation. I had everything worked out with the prior catering coordinator and I felt like I was starting over with trying to go through our selections and everything we agreed upon with a new lady only a few months before our wedding. We then had our kick off call with Britt for an entire hour and I shared all of my concerns with everything going on. I have never felt so reassured that things would go according to plan. Britt sent me over a ton of documents to fill out for the timeline of the day and also all of the decor we were bringing in, where we wanted it set up, if we wanted to take it home at the end of the night and so forth.
The timeline and decor documents were finalized and then shared with the entire vendor team for them to comment, provide load in and load out times, and so forth. Britt made sure all of the vendors were on the same page and knew exactly what they needed to do. A few weeks before the wedding I went into a full blown panic because the coordinator at the venue did not order the right linens or the right number of tables, and I started emailing Britt freaking out and she immediately called me. After we hung up, she emailed the venue right away explaining what we needed and also offered to have a phone call with them that week to ensure everyone was on the same page. She did speak with them that week and they went through everything. After the call she emailed me to let me know everything was okay and everything was ordered that we needed.
On the day of, Britt and her assistant Rachel arrived when we got there at 3pm. We were freaking out because there was slight drizzle on and off and then the forecast was saying it was going to rain right at the time of our ceremony. We made the decision to keep everything outside and we are so glad we did, because the weather held out! If anything went wrong the day of our wedding, I do not know about it. Britt handled everything perfectly. She was managing all the vendors and the decor and knew everything in and out. We noticed our calligrapher had a typo in one of the signs and Britt even found a gold pen in her bag in order to add in the missing letter. All I can say is our wedding would not have been what it was without Britt Ward. Hiring Modern Rebel and requesting Britt was the best thing I could have ever done. She is so personable and amazing at her job. Her attention to detail is unmatched and her organization is perfect. As a lesbian couple, Modern Rebel was the best choice we could have made. I also love that they donate 5% of their profits to an organization of our choice! -

We worked with Modern Rebel for full planning of our wedding and we could not have been happier! When we were looking for somebody to help us throw an awesome party, we knew we wanted an inclusive, experimental partner and not a cookie-cutter agency that was going to organize a generic, heteronormative wedding at a country club. From the start, Amy and her team were interested in who we are as people, what we valued for ourselves and our guests in our wedding, and focused on our partnership as a foundation for everything else. Every step of the planning process, from building a detailed budget to choosing vendors to rescheduling for a year later due to COVID was organized and streamlined. We especially appreciated the way each task was carefully scheduled to avoid either front-loading or tail-loading the planning process. When we said we met doing college radio and loved Halloween, Amy’s team helped us find a music venue for our ceremony and reception, helped us find the right florist partner to get us the moody gothy flowers that would make our party look like us, and helped us plan a reception stage dive during a surprise band set without stopping for a moment to tell us that isn’t what’s done. When we got to coordination, every part of the day was carefully scheduled. When we actually got to the day itself, Amy made clear that she had everything under control and ensured that we could actually enjoy our time and even eat! Weeks later, we keep discussing how there wasn’t a single problem at our wedding that needed even a moment’s consideration, and that is all thanks to the incredible people at Modern Rebel. -

From day one, we were supported in our decisions and inspired to think creatively as we dove into the fundamentals of our wedding day. We should mention that our wedding, like many, was derailed by the pandemic, but that didn’t stop Brittany from sharing with us her patience and understanding as we made hard challenging decisions. When it finally came time to crank the gears again, we were met with Brittany’s genuine energy, positivity, and earnest opinion.
We finally felt like we could relinquish control and trust fully that we were in good hands. Brittany is not only a coordinating-logistical master, but she does so with charming precision. She transcends dotting the i and crossing the t. Not one detail was missed and we could purely melt into our wedding day knowing that she had our backs at every turn. We were able to forget about logistics and be present as partners the way we envisioned.
Brittany was always available to hear our concerns and exchange her feedback. She was open-minded to our ideas while expanding on them to make them even more of a reality. She expertly streamlined the miles of dialogue needed to communicate with other vendors - approaching the daunting task with ease and clarity.
When it finally came to the day, she didn’t miss a beat and provided all the tactical support necessary to ensure a smooth event - down to bites of food and champagne waiting for us after the ceremony. She also never hesitated to adapt to the situation and modify plans as she read the temperature of the room, keeping the night organic and never too regimented. She was truly a huge special part of our wedding and we could never have pulled it off without her.

We worked with Adriana as our day-of coordinator and she was fantastic. She started helping a month out, taking care of all of the less exciting things you want to be worrying about so close to your wedding (vendor load ins, clean up, timelines, etc.). It was like working with a friend when we would go back and forth between some last minute changes and she offered great advice. On the actual day, it again really was like having a friend with you helping you along the way with timing and even reminding you to soak it all in and have some food and drinks.

We could not have had a more-smooth love party and Adriana and her team’s expert help and tremendous support were integral to the festivities’ success. Amy (MR’s owner and founder) was our point of contact for most of 2019/2020, but due to schedule conflicts with COVID (we had to reschedule), she had Adriana do our last few months of planning. You’d think this would be an issue except the team was always on the same page. I never had a miscommunication or missed email, and they helped us stay on track. Truly a dream team. We are forever Modern Rebel hype-men!
Another thing we love about MR is their mission to help create intentional, personal events. You can do a fully traditional wedding or mix and match, or toss every expectation out the window. It’s your day.

We worked directly with Amy and Sana for about 18 months, and you’d think after that long the actual day could only disappoint you, but my wife and I were absolutely blown away by how spectacular every single detail was. Everything was just a little better than I had imagined, and I imagined it being a pretty great party.
Booking Modern Rebel means getting a truly personalized, bespoke experience. Amy and her team will take the time to get to know you both as a couple and as individuals so that every detail of your wedding feels like presenting the best version of yourself to the people you love the most. Whether you want a nontraditional party or a wedding with traditional elements that just feels more like you, Modern Rebel is inclusive, thoughtful, and meticulous in their approach to elevating every aspect of your day. Every detail of our wedding was thoughtfully planned, and all the vendor suggestions were driven by our personal taste, not some cookie cutter idea of what a wedding is.
Everyone at Modern Rebel is not only warm and caring, but highly creative and, above all, listens to your vision and finds ways to turn the kernel of something that you see in your head into an actual plan that gets executed on time and on budget. Once we locked in a budget, I was worried that I’d either have to lose some aspects we wanted because of cost or be a little dissatisfied with a few elements of the wedding to prioritize the ones I cared most about. Neither of these happened. Amy helped us break down the budget to each specific element, then only showed us options that were within those budgets, never once trying to upsell us. The fact that Modern Rebel charges a flat fee rather than using commissions-based pricing means they have no incentive to push pricier options/vendors than you actually need. You can rest assured that all their suggestions are based on years of experience and made because they think it’s right for you as a couple.
Another stand out aspect was MR’s communication with vendors. They worked to ensure that all the vendors were on the same page regarding timeline and design/vision – MR went so far as to go to bat for us and run interference when we had a less than optimal communication with a vendor the month of the wedding. I’d credit the fact that they really seem to care about you as people rather than just as clients for the fact that you’ll notice these types of intangible benefits pretty frequently while working with them.
When your biggest problem with your wedding was that most of the guests never noticed that you also served pie (and funny pie toppers) because the band was so good that no one left the dance floor, you had a pretty good wedding. That’s what Modern Rebel can do for you – HIRE THEM!!

When looking for wedding planners, my (now) husband and I found it really important to work with a company that didn't simply seek to replicate Pinterest weddings or contribute to the toxic heteronormativity of the wedding industry. We were really excited then to discover Modern Rebel Co, and even more excited after our conversation with Brittany, our lead planner. We selected full service planning because of the complexity of the event we were planning on a private property.
From the very beginning, Britt demonstrated qualities that supported us and kept our wedding on track throughout the planning process; Britt was organized, experienced, creative, with an incredibly kind and optimistic personality. With Britt on our side, we were able to systematically design a wedding that was unique to us, very personal, and fun for our guests. Nothing about our wedding felt like a cut and paste, which we are truly grateful for. Britt was very communicative throughout the process, and we had regularly scheduled check ins that increased in frequency as we got closer to the event.
Even though Britt was helping us design an authentic and unique event, she was still able to draw upon her experience as she worked to make this possible. Since our wedding was not held at a traditional venue, we had to bring in everything ourselves: from the tent to the salad forks. Not only did Britt organize this and keep track of the many vendors, she also designed a detailed floorplan of the whole event, which took place in several outdoor locations. She definitely went above and beyond.
We also had the opportunity to work with some other members of the Modern Rebel team - Amy and Adriana - who were equally as bad ass and skilled as Britt. It definitely seems like the Modern Rebel team is copacetic and ready to step in to help each other whenever the moment demands.
I would highly recommend Modern Rebel. Beyond being very good at their jobs, with great taste and strong experience, they are intentional about how they conduct their business in an industry that can be expensive, exclusionary, and tend towards reinforcing gender norms.

Modern Rebel and Charlotte were a dream come true. My husband and I got engaged in April 2021 and after being together for 7 years decided there was no time like the present to just go ahead and do the thing! We visited our dream venue one week after being engaged learned they had one date available in August 2021 and boom we were planning a wedding. Working in the events world as cater waiters, we had worked a lot of weddings and by proxy learned the elements that were super important to us, what type of flow we wanted, and what we wanted to make our own. Truthfully, the beginning portion of planning the wedding was eaasssy and so much fun, but we got to a point when we knew that we need help in the final preparation process and running the day. That's when we started looking for coordinators and from the first phone call with Charlotte, I knew we were in good hands. Charlotte jumped in right away and helped with organizing what tasks needed to be finished as well as taking over the responsibilities of working with all the vendors that where part of our day. I think my favorite element that Charolette brought was her open perspective to listening to what we wanted and just finding ways to make it work and offering even better solutions. This wedding felt completely ours, meant for us and our friends and family and we couldn't have done it without Charlotte. I cannot recommend Charlotte enough because this review will never end. We hired Modern Rebel for day-of wedding coordination and "day-of" doesn't do the work justice! Coordination kicked off thirty days prior to the event and Brittany handled all the nitty gritty: reviewing all vendor contracts, confirming vendor meals and dietary restrictions, email correspondence with slow vendors, day-of timeline, load in and out, tipping, and so much more. There were so many things we didn't think of and we would've been lost without Brittany's thoroughness, confidence, and genuine excitement for us, especially when we were getting overwhelmed. On the wedding day itself, Britt and Nora were on top of everything and if there were any issues, we were none the wiser! We were so relaxed during the wedding and were able to fully enjoy it knowing that everything was in capable hands. More importantly, throughout the whole planning process -- pandemic delays and all -- Brittany was our biggest cheerleader! 10000% recommend!! -

I hired Brittany from Modern Rebel for the month leading up to our wedding... and it was quite possibly the best decision I ever made. Discussing how wedding plans were progressing with other friends often lead to them asking to see all the incredible spreadsheets and timelines Brittany created for me- and made me realize how grateful I was to have such a competent and organized planner at the helm. On the day of my wedding, if anything HAD gone wrong, I never would have known it. It would have been worth every penny to have Britt as our virtual coordinator! Britt Ward was exceptional every step of the way - super organized, communicative, responsive and thoughtful. We were incredibly lucky to have found Modern Rebel. Brittany was more than amazing. In only 4 weeks, she helped us organize our multicultural bilingual virtual wedding (which of course is a weird new-concept to work around). She had everything so under control that we had no reason to feel stressed out about anything else but how much we were going to enjoy ourselves after the ceremony!
My father in law was amazed by Brittany, he asked me "Where did you find your planner?", not only she was extremely professional and meticulous, but also an amazing person with the best attitude, every single time.

I happened upon Modern Rebel while doing some research for a coordinator for my online wedding. Only a few event companies are coordinating Zoom weddings, so when I happened upon Modern Rebel, I was so excited! After my first meeting with Britt, I knew that I had to work with her. Britt took care of everything, from writing the copy for my invitation, tracking RSVPs, creating a day of timeline, coordinating our rehearsal and a lot more things that I'm forgetting. The biggest help was her moderating the Zoom part of the wedding. As the bride, the last thing I wanted to worry about was making sure everyone was logged on to Zoom and that all of the little, personal touches made their way into my wedding or making sure that everyone was on mute. She took all of that stress away and I couldn't recommend Britt or Modern Rebel more. Thank you so much for making my wedding and wedding day so stress free and special! -

Magical and incredible!
I really can't imagine our wedding without Brittany from modern rebel! We had a 370 person, Persian-American party and she was a one woman show before, during, and after the party! As our day of coordinator, she did everything to prepare us for a day of smooth success. From the most organized schedules, prep memos, templates, timelines calls and in person meetings she was on top of every thought, detail, idea, and concept. She worked seamlessly with our other vendors with her like able personality, and can do anything attitude she was able to make the impossible, possible. During the party she was in 10 places at once in the more organized and seamless way. The best way I could describe it was she was like superwoman. Many family members and vendors came up to me after asking who she was and asked me for her number. One family member even said, "No one truly has a wedding date until Brittany is confirmed for it." At the end of the night when my dad and I were anticipating having to load the car with all the props that we had brought in for the ceremony and party, Brittany and her team had already packed everything up and had it waiting by the curb. She looked at us and said, "Just bring your car to the front you're all set!" We were so relieved and excited! She truly became part of the family and as the bride she kept me fed, hydrated, taken care of, happy and made sure my needs were set. I can't imagine my wedding without her, she was the glue that kept it all together with so much love, laughter, and ease. This is the best investment I have ever made! -

Modern Rebel was better than we could have ever imagined! Hiring them was definitely one of the best decisions we made out of our entire planning process!! We came across Modern Rebel as they were highly recommended through our venue, 501 Union. From our initial conversation with Amy, we knew that they were right for us. She was so professional, knowledgeable, and most importantly we felt that she had our best interest as a couple at heart. We also loved that they donate a percentage of proceeds to a non-profit organization. That made us feel even better about our decision to go with them!
We chose to work with them for day of coordination, but it was definitely more of a month of coordination and they went above and beyond our expectations. Maryam Shariat was our head coordinator, and she was truly incredible! We can't say enough great things about her!! From the second we had our introductory skype call, we knew she was going to be great. She was so poised, clearly very experienced in what she does, and genuinely wanted to make sure that we had a smooth and FUN wedding day. We essentially passed over all of our vendor information to her and she took the reigns and wrangled everyone together to pull off the day! We really appreciated how organized she was, and especially loved how she made a point to tell all of the vendors to reach out to her directly vs. us in order to give us some "pre wedding chill" space.
When the actual weekend was near, she offered to come to our rehearsal dinner 30 minutes early to meet with our families and the wedding parties to give everyone a run down of what to expect the next day. This was so unexpected and above and beyond, and I believe it really helped our wedding day run more smoothly. On the day of, she handled everything with grace. We had minor annoyances come up that she completely took care of so quickly, to the point that we didn't even have time to worry for a second. She brought two assistants with her, Brittany and Sana, who were also so sweet and very on top of it all! After the wedding, she ensured everything got dropped off to the correct person and that everything with vendor break down was taken care of.
If you are looking for coordinators who are passionate, knowledgeable, organized, inclusive, and genuinely incredible people - hire Modern Rebel! You will be very happy you did. -

We hired Modern Rebel for the coordination of our wedding. We took the reins on choosing vendors, venue and many of the big details, and our amazing coordinator Maryam stepped in in the final stages to tie it all together. As soon as she got involved, the stress of planning such a complicated and important event really melted away. She was kind, funny, and incredibly competent across all of her responsibilities. She took on things that were beyond her official scope of work, and truly made the day run perfectly. We had truly zero issues on our wedding day. Let us truly enjoy our wedding day
We knew we wanted a day-of coordinator for our wedding, but we also had a not entirely traditional wedding planned (including a non-traditional venue), and we were also trying to balance about half a dozen vendors and a number of our own DIY for decorations. We picked Modern Rebel largely because we felt comfortable that we could plan our wedding the way we wanted without any pressure to try to fit a certain style.
Amy from Modern Rebel helped us keep everything organized and come up with a plan of action for the day. She was really helpful at asking questions about things we hadn't even thought of, helped us find a delivery person for getting our DIY decorations back and forth and kept our rehearsal going in the middle of chaos (the venue was setting up for another event during our rehearsal). We also truly appreciated Modern Rebel's templates for writing down all the wedding details -- it saved us a lot of stress over being misunderstood or worrying that we'd left an important detail unaddressed.
It was particularly great to have her because some staff turnover at our venue meant we started working with a brand new venue rep six weeks before our wedding -- but once Amy took over a month out, we felt much more confident that nothing would get accidentally forgotten. The day of, we both got to truly focus on the experience of the day and each other instead of worrying about where our stuff was or if the centerpieces were set up. We strongly recommend Modern Rebel and Amy to anyone who has a particular vision for their wedding but still want to be able to enjoy their wedding day. -

My partner and I contacted Modern Rebel for a day-of coordinator to our small NYC wedding, happening in October ‘19. This is how we met the amazing, wonderful, and talented Maryam. Hiring Maryam was probably the smartest planning decision we made during the wedding planning process.
Our wedding was small, but the format was unusual, with lots of location changes in lower Manhattan. From the minute we briefed-in Maryam one month before the wedding, we knew everything was going to be OK and that we could pull it off. She asked us questions that we NEVER would have thought of and put together a timeline that became our bible for the final 30 days. When there were some inevitable setbacks in the days leading up to the event (like a bomb cyclone and a photographer with the stomach flu), Maryam was more than just a coordinator, she was our friend. When the big arrived, Maryam orchestrated everything to a TEE, while delighting our family and friends with her humor and good energy. We truly were guests at our own wedding and I shudder to think about the experience would have been like without her guidance, expertise, and comforting presence.
As a company, working with Modern Rebel was a dream. They’re responsive, philanthropic, and reasonable with their pricing. We also love their philosophy on Love Parties. It made us feel understood, since partaking in an institution like marriage was a tough decision for us to begin with.
