Lovely experience for wedding hair and makeup!

Working with Carolyn for my wedding hair and makeup needs was a great experience. She was kind and helpful from our first interaction and I really loved how I looked on my wedding day. She was responsive and adaptable when I asked for tweaks or changes - and the final look was so beautiful. My wedding party also really liked their hair and makeup, and we stayed on schedule all day!

on time, ahead of schedule, created awesome styles

I was extremely stressed about hair and makeup as I never wear makeup and had no idea what to do with my hair. My maid of honor ended up booking Modern Bridal a month before the wedding, and it was a miracle Carolyn was able to make that work! My trial was two weeks before the wedding with Cameron, who was friendly, professional, and helped me decide on a hairstyle I LOVED. On the day of the wedding Cameron was on time, ahead of schedule, and created awesome styles for my people, all of whom loved the outcome! Something I was worried would be difficult ended up being a stress-free experience. One of my friends asked for pictures of my hair and makeup because she was about to do a trial for her wedding and she liked the look Cameron created so much, and several people commented after several hours of sweaty dancing about how good my makeup still looked. Cameron was a gem, and I am so thankful to Modern Bridal for making the day so fun!

Exciting, celebratory, yet also calm and relaxed

Carolyn was an absolute gem to work with. From the day of the trial, I knew she understood our journey as a couple and wedding vision. She has a way with people that cannot be put into words--authentic, sincere and genuine in her presence. On the wedding day, we had family and friends in and out of the bridal suite, celebrating, talking, relaxing---they excitedly wanted to be a part of everything. Carolyn took it all in with stride, remaining calm and relaxed, focused on her work yet also so kind with family/friends. I am sure the rest of her team is the same as I would trust anyone that Carolyn hires to represent her business.

Calm & Effective

I LOVED Carolyn. She was so calm and efficient. She fit in perfectly with the chill vibe we had going that morning of the wedding. That make-up stayed on my face for almost 3 days! (#iwokeuplikethis) And my massive amounts of hair stayed in place throughout the whole day even on the windy boat and during the reception dancing! I could not have been more thrilled. Even my fiance commented that it was definitely worth the money. Zero issues. All the love for Carolyn.

My Hair & Makeup Were Perfect!

I can't recommend Carolyn enough for any bride looking for an up-do and all-day-long fantastic makeup. She is professional, prompt, talented and fast! My bridesmaids had their hair down and mine was up in a messy bun and she absolutely nailed all of it. Our makeup was cake-free perfection for the entire day (my wedding went from 10 AM to 8 PM).

Modern Bridal (Ulrich and Jacinda) did the hair and makeup for myself and my entire bridal party on the day of our wedding. They arrived early and finished right on time (if not ahead of schedule), which was such a relief given the large group. Everyone was very pleased with their hair and makeup and looked fabulous. Ulrich really took time with me to make sure the makeup was perfect. It help up through what ended up being a very hot, active, and fun evening! Carolyn was easy to work with for scheduling and payments and the hair and makeup artists were flexible on the day of due to some members of the party arriving at different times. Ulrich and Jacinda were very talented, professional, and easy to work with. The service was top-notch and at a reasonable price for the area - I definitely would recommend them!

I had a great experience using Modern Bridal for my wedding in May! I was super last minute booking hair and makeup (2 weeks before) and Modern Bridal was able to set me up with Ulrich for a trial and wedding day services for myself, mom, and 4 bridesmaids. My trial and day of experience with Ulrich went so well! Ulrich was both excited and awesome at working with my naturally curly hair that I wanted to keep curly for my wedding. He was also able to make my mom, who is not a makeup wearer, feel confident and natural for my wedding. Would recommend both Modern Bridal and Ulrich highly!

I had the pleasure of working with Dani and Jacinda on my wedding day. Dani came to my apt to do my trial. I was a little hesitant since my apt does not have the best lighting, but she brought a lighting stand and it worked great. On the day of, Dani and Jacinda met us at a hotel by our venue at 630am. They got through 4 ladies by a little before 9am, which worked out perfectly as we planned it. Carolyn was great with coordinating everything. Just know they do not have a physical location in Old Town anymore.

Jacinda and Carolyn did an amazing job enhancing the beauty of my four bridesmaids, my mom, my future MIL, and moi. I first fell in love with Modern Bridal Studio via their Instagram handle (check them out now!) and was drawn to their effortlessly chic style. My trial with Jacinda at their Alexandria studio was so much fun – I felt like I was hanging out with an old friend. We tweaked a little bit here and there throughout the two our prep session and my vision was complete. Day of, Jacinda and her partner Carolyn arrived at EARLY and transformed our hotel room into a mini beauty salon. They kept to schedule while also enhancing our getting ready girl time (90s jams in the background, ‘Friends’ on mute on the TV, gossip flowing… the best). My hair and make-up felt so natural throughout the day – and the girls and moms were stunning! Wish they could be my glam squad every day.

I was so pleased with my experience working with Modern Bridal Studio. After doing quite a bit of research, I'm so glad I decided on Modern Bridal for my hair/makeup services for my December 2017 wedding. The owner Carolyn was very easy to work with, and I found her to be responsive - usually would respond to inquiries in about 24-48 hours. My trial hair/makeup went extremely well with Ulrich that we were fortunate enough to have him do all of our hair and makeup the morning of my wedding. It was a very early start with potential for snow, so Ulrich met at our hotel about 15 minutes early around 4:45am before a 10:00am ceremony. He did an AMAZING job with everyone - my hair and airbrush makeup, my mom's airbrush makeup, and hair for the mother of the groom, bridesmaid and matron of honor. He is very talented, pleasant, and professional. Everyone looked absolutely gorgeous! I wore my hair down, and he pinned it a little off the side to make sure the curl stayed throughout the whole day. My hair and makeup looked great, and I didn't have to do any adjustments after the morning ceremony and brunch wedding reception. Everyone was so happy with how they looked that day, and we can't thank Ulrich enough! My photographer even asked for his card, because his work was so awesome. I highly recommend Modern Bridal Studio, and especially Ulrich.

The hair was amazing for our wedding!! Sara did a trial with me a couple months before. I showed her a picture of what I wanted, she looked at it for a few minutes, listened to how I wanted it to be a little different, and created exactly what I wanted - it was insane - how doe they do that??!! She also found hair extensions that matched my red hair that I've been trying to find for YEARS!! I bought them and used them for the wedding and any other event. Sarah and Dani arrived on my wedding day and did my hair and makeup, my bridesmaids hair and makeup, and the mothers' hair and makeup - everyone was stunning!! Definitely never felt more beautiful and they were extremely friendly on top of it; they truly played a huge part in feeling that my wedding was one of a kind and magical!!

Carolyn and her team were great to work with. They were very accommodating when I asked for a second makeup trial. Dani and Brittany did the hair and make for my bridesmaids and my mom. Brittany was great with my mom, who has sensitive skin and brought her own makeup that she knows is ok for her skin. Carolyn came to do my hair and makeup for me. They all did a wonderful job and were so much fun to hang out with, in addition to being great at hair and makeup. Everyone's hair and makeup help us well throughout the day.

Carlos did my hair and makeup for both my trial and wedding day and all the hair for my bridesmaids on the wedding day and he was absolutely fantastic. He was professional and a true artist at his trade. My maid of honor called him, "Carlos the magician with magic hands" at one point because we were all so impressed with everyone's hair. He made sure each of us were touched up and looking perfect before pictures, which we all really appreciated. - Modern Bridal Studio was very accommodating and very responsive and attentive. They come highly recommended.

I'm a wedding planner, and one of my recent brides used Modern Bridal Studio for hair and makeup services for herself and her entire wedding party, including the mothers of the bride and groom. Carolyn was wonderfully responsive for the makeup trial, very willing to work with my bride to marry her everyday no-makeup style and her wishes for a polished, natural look for her wedding day. On the wedding day, Carolyn and Courtney arrived on time and were ready to get to work immediately. Everyone looked beautiful, and seeing my bride beaming upon viewing her finished look was one of the highlights of my day. This was an outdoor wedding in July, and everybody's makeup looked as fresh and lovely at the end of the night as it did when they walked out of hair and makeup earlier in the day. I loved working with Carolyn and her team, and I look forward to our next wedding together.

Modern Bridal Studio was a joy to work with. Carolyn and Courtney were extremely responsive. Mine (hair and bridal makeup) and Corina (bridesmaids makeup) were prompt, professional, and both did a great job. During my trial, Mine asked many questions and made sure I was happy with the hair and makeup. On the day of the wedding, Mine and Corina stayed on schedule. Corina created a makeup look for the bridesmaids that was cohesive but worked on several different skin tones. Everyone looked and felt beautiful!

I used Modern Bridal Studio for my Georgetown wedding in April. They were phenomenal to work with and relatively less expensive than some incumbents in the space based on my research. Everything was kept on schedule the day of (with a few inevitable hiccups/touch ups) and the make up artists were very professional. I felt like such a beautiful bride and my wedding party loved their looks as well! I would definitely recommend this vendor.

We used Modern Bridal for bridal hair, airbrushed bridal makeup plus hair and makeup for 6 bridesmaids, the Mother of the bride and the Mother of the Groom. Quality and timeliness was great and everyone loved how they looked. I also did two trials to ensure my hair would be what I wanted on the day of the wedding, and Emine did exactly what I wanted. I also want to note that the makeup artist that was reserved for our wedding ended up having a personal emergency and Carolyn - the owner of Modern Bridal - stepped in last minute and took over all responsibilities. Super experience overall.

Jacinda was my hair and makeup artist for my wedding day and she is INCREDIBLE! She made my look and feel so beautiful! Jacinda is incredibly talented and professional. I did two pre-trials with Jacinda and she was so helpful in helping me find the perfect look. Jacinda also did the hair for my bridal party and Priscilla did my bridal party's makeup. Everyone looked radiant! I can't recommend Jacinda, Priscilla, and Modern Bridal enough! They are fantastic!

Paolina from Modern Bridal Studio did my bridal hair and makeup, as well as my two sisters' hair and makeup. She did such an amazing job on all of us! We could not have been happier with the results. And the hair and makeup stayed put and looked great for the entire night. Paolina did an updo for my hair, which was absolutely beautiful, and she created a natural and soft bridal makeup look. Also, my sister was so happy with her hair and makeup that she said she will want to use Paolina for her future wedding! I highly recommend Paolina and Modern Bridal Studio. Alexis (hair) and Erinn (makeup) were so easy to work with and far exceeded any and all expectations I had. Not only were they able to deliver exactly the look I wanted but they did so for each of my bridesmaids and moms with speed, efficiency and an amazing attitude. Mime from Modern Bridal did hair and makeup for me (the bride), my bridesmaids, and my mother – and it turned out beautifully! She was very professional, listened to what we wanted and made good recommendations about what would look best in photos, and our hair and makeup stayed put all day. The airbrush makeup was great! My wife and I cannot say enough good things about Mine - she was absolutely wonderful. During our trial runs, she worked with us to develop the right look for each of us - my hair was down and curled with a flower hair-piece and my wife had a classic and elegant up-due. On our wedding day, she once again executed our hair perfectly, and did an equally amazing job with our makeup, even though we had each decided we wanted it to be a bit different than what we had done during the trial runs. Mine did a wonderful job on our mothers’ and sisters’ hair, and even took the time to re-do my sister’s hair when she changed her mind about what she wanted.

While Mine is clearly a skilled and talented makeup and hair artist, what really made her amazing was her demeanor on the day of our wedding. Getting ready for your wedding is a very intimate event and having a stranger present certainly runs the risk of some awkward moments. This never happened though with Mine. She was professional and focused, allowing us to both talk comfortably with friends and family, and also manage the chaos of people coming and going from our room! At the same time though, she was funny and kind, and easy to talk to. We could not have asked for anyone better.

Love the artists at Modern Bridal! It took so much stress out of the wedding morning to be able to get ready in the comfort of the bridal suite, and our hair and makeup looked amazing and held up wonderfully through all of the tears, outdoor pictures, and a raucous dance floor.

They were able to replicate whatever was asked for and also to create new amazing looks when the person was not sure what hair and make-up style to pick. Emine did hair and makeup for myself, my mom, my sister and my best friend. Each of us couldn't stop talking about how happy we were with our styles and makeup. I knew that Modern Bridal Studio did an excellent job come wedding day and I was never given a reason to complain during the entire process, but after responding to the rating questions I can really appreciate how WONDERFUL they were! Especially in comparison to some of the other vendors I dealt with. Seriously, Carolyn Berry (the owner) was so quick to respond to my dozens of emails, she was very flexible in the services offered and making changes to the agreement when I ran into some health issues that changed a few things. She was kind, I didn't feel like I was annoying her and the service is really worth the money! I couldn't imagine having to leave the venue to go get my hair and makeup done somewhere else on my wedding day. There was too much going on I definitely would not have made it down the aisle on time.

Also, Stefanie, the artist who did my hair and makeup, was so kind! She was diligent and professional and really worked to create the look I wanted since I skipped the trial session. I thought I was describing the look I wanted by summing it up to "natural" but that was not at all what I wanted after it was done and she addressed each thing I was unhappy with, until I was happy with the overall look! I definitely envisioned a much brighter look than "natural" encompasses and by the time we were finished, I was satisfied. In addition, the picture I supplied for my hairstyle left some mystery because we couldn't really see what was going on in the back of the style, but we discussed what could work for a couple of minutes and she went to work and bam! It was beautiful! I got so many compliments on my hair.

I'm very late in posting this, but I wanted to circle back and review MBS because they really deserve it. The were truly the easiest vendor out of all the vendors I hired and I can't thank them enough!

I was so pleased with my experience with Modern Bridal Studio! Carolyn was very helpful and responsive when I was trying to make up my mind on hair and makeup. I used Modern Bridal Studio for my day of makeup for the bride and bridesmaid. I had Alexis for Hair and Erin for makeup. They were AMAZING, I felt so beautiful on my wedding day and it was in big part by them. Carolyn, the owner, was extremely responsive during the selection and scheduling process making the process pain free.
They both came to my apartment for the trial and listened closely to what I was looking for, and nailed it perfectly. On the day off both Alexis and Erin were timely and professional and they recreated my look from my trial day flawlessly. They also both worked efficiently through my bridesmaid keeping us on track for the daily schedule. They also were so fun to have in the hotel room while we were getting ready!

I checked viewed about 50 websites and checked the pricing for several vendors before deciding to book my bridal hair and makeup with modern bridal. I actually booked modern bridal prior to my trial run. I immediately decided to book with this vendor because all the brides in pictures looked absolutely beautiful without being overly made up. My goals was to look a better version of myself on the day of my wedding rather than a mannequin. The day of my trial was not quite certain what I wanted my hair and makeup to look, so I took a bunch of pictures and Stefanie combined elements of each to make a perfect but unique wedding updo for the day of my wedding. Stefanie also did the hair and makeup for my mom as well as my bridesmaids and everyone was very happy with their hair and makeup. Thanks to modern bridal I felt like a princess and I looked great for our wedding pictures. I am so happy I chose modern bridal and I highly recommend them for both hair and makeup.

Carolyn was amazing and quick to respond to any request or questions that I had. Paulina and Olivia were amazing artists and made my entire bridal party look AMAZING. I had girls from all different ethnicities and they knew how to tailor the look to match each girl and their style.

Having effortlessly communicated with Carolyn to setup the details, I'm so thrilled to have been paired with Stefanie for my and my MOH hair and makeup.

I met with Stefanie for a trial at my apartment a couple months before my big day. We started by chatting about the feel of the wedding day, my dress, and I showed her some inspiration photos...then we got to work! Not only is she very talented; thoughtful in my requests and accommodating to my feedback, she is a total sweetheart. I enjoyed the process and look, as well as the company.

I was so excited to have her join my MOH and I as we prepared for the day. Stefanie met us at our hotel room and it instantly felt like an old friend had arrived. We had a great time and my sister and I looked fantastic! Stefanie worked her magic replicating my look from the trial with ease AND sewed a button back on my dress in a moment of panic just before the start of the festivities.

Our hair and makeup held up well into the night, despite jumping and dancing for hours, too!

Long story short, Modern Bridal Studio made the whole process, stress-free and effortless...and Stefanie is amazing! I'm so happy and grateful to have had her talents and personality as a part of the big day!

I was looking for someone to only do my bridal makeup for my wedding (which turns out to be a hard thing to find) and I had nearly given up. I have had so many bad experiences with make-up artists before and was having a hell of a time finding someone that did not have some exorbitant minimum price or person requirement but was still talented. Carolyn was an answer to a bride-to-be's prayers! I had a blast at my trial with her and was very impressed by her ability to give me exactly what I wanted. She repeated the magic on my wedding day and I got a million compliments on my makeup! Everyone kept saying it looked as though I was airbrushed (because I was, ha!). She was incredibly flexible, dealing with my various changes in start time, and was even early on the day-of. She is incredibly professional but also very sweet and I really enjoyed working with her. I would HIGHLY recommend her to brides out there looking for someone who is very talented but fairly priced.

We hired Carolyn to do our makeup for myself, and 4 bridesmaids on March 15th. She was AMAZING! Her work is out of this world, and my bridesmaids and I were in love with how she did our makeup. It was better than I could have even imagined!

She came right on time, and had plenty of time left over in case anyone needed touch ups. I thought this was so professional and helped me feel calm the whole time and that we did not have to rush at all.

She asked for pictures of the makeup styles I wanted, and I sent her a picture of a Victoria Secret model. haha :) A girl can dream! Well, she did exactly that and more! She mimicked the picture perfectly, and gave it my own unique touches to match my face shape/eyes. I looked better than I even thought I could! Everyone commented on my make up all night long and it lasted all night too!

Finally, my bridesmaids and I loved her! She was so personable and fun, and easy going! Once again, that made me feel at ease! :)

Hello brides-to-be! Let me start out by saying this - if you do not choose Carolyn and Modern Bridal Studio for your wedding day, you'll regret it! I can honestly that I have never felt as beautiful and glamorous as I did on my special day. From the second I began emailing with Carolyn, she was professional, prompt with my answering my dozens of questions, and had a great sense of humor to top it off. My 3 bridesmaids, my mother and my niece all had their hair and make-up done as well. I truly can't put into words how breathtaking we all looked! Carolyn came to us at the hotel, which was what I was looking for. I didn't want the added stress of having to get to a salon on time and risk running late for anything. I was able to chat and visit with family and friends throughout the day while Carolyn did her thing. All of us received SO many compliments on our hair and make-up throughout the night. People told me I looked like Cleopatra! I couldn't believe it! Carolyn is the utmost professional, and what she does for a living is indeed an art form. My hair stayed in place, and my lipstick didn't smudge even once - and with all of the dancing we did, I was shocked! I highly recommend the bridal package for the bride which includes a trial run with Carolyn. Carolyn was recommended by one of my mom's friend and she was everything I wanted when I came to getting my hair and make up done. When she came over the day of the wedding she was under the weather but still managed to do my sisters, my mom and my own hair and make up and everything came out flawless. Our hair and make up stayed through the entire night and she leaves you with a little bag for lip color touch ups. I LOVE Carolyn! She is the sweetest, calmest, most talented hair and makeup artist! On my wedding day, she made my mom, sister-in-law, and mother-in-law all feel so beautiful (and these are women who are skeptical of getting "fancy"). She listened to each of them, executing exactly the look they were hoping for. In the end, they all looked so beautiful -- and you could tell they FELT beautiful too!

And then there was my own hair and makeup... it was flawless. Carolyn did my makeup and hair to perfection. She adjusted every tiny little thing I pointed out and noticed little things I never would have picked up myself. She tested the makeup by taking a few photos to make sure everything looked good on film -- and then adjusted accordingly (what a thoughtful touch!). AND, knowing what a crazy person I am about my eyebrows, she spent a solid 15 minutes making them EXACTLY what I wanted. In short, she's the best. You can't go wrong! Carolyn was great! My hair is particularly difficult to deal with as it is recovering from several years of chemical straightening. Carolyn Berry is a wonder woman! She did my hair and makeup for my wedding, and made me feel so confident and at ease before walking down the aisle. I had a large bridal party so Carolyn brought two additional artists from her team (Brittany and Erinn), who were great as well. All 8 of my bridesmaids, my mom and mother in law all looked beautiful and had a blast getting their hair and makeup done together.

After reading reviews and doing price comparisons with a number of studios, we selected Modern Bridal Studios using their “Wedding Party” package. We were quite pleased with the value and the customer service we received. Carolyn answered questions very quickly--regardless of the time of day, making her the most responsive vendor with whom we dealt during the entire wedding planning process! The scheduling manager, Courtney, was also responsive and answered questions or settled issues in a very timely manner. After discussing scheduling with our “day of” planner, we moved up our completion time; and Courtney managed this brilliantly. Timing was also a challenge since there was an unavoidable gap between the ceremony and reception. The cocktail hour was outdoors, and the weather was rather humid; however, the bride's hair and makeup looked beautiful up through photographs, introductions, and the first dance. She absolutely loved Mandy’s styling both after the trial run and the day of her wedding.
I received several compliments on my "Mother of the Bride" makeup also. The makeup smoothed out problem areas but looked completely natural, and I was running all over the place. The Mother of the Groom's makeup also looked beautiful. Bridesmaids selected hair styling as part of the package, and I think they were quite pleased with the outcome (They all looked beautiful!). Mandy, Felicia and Sarah were very creative, personable and professional. They were so willing to work with each person in the bridal party and added such fun to the event. They kept us right on schedule but still maintained warmth and interest in each person. I highly recommend Modern Bridal Studio.

My Wedding was August 2, 2014, Carolyn and her assistant did an amazing job with hair and makeup. She did exactly what I asked for, for my hair and makeup and I looked exactly how I had always dreamt of. My Mom was a little hesitant when it came to makeup since she does not wear a lot, Carolyn was very patient with her and lightened it up to her liking. It was also very nice that they were able to come to our hotel to do hair and makeup, it was one less thing we had to do the morning of. Everyone in the bridal party looked absolutely beautiful, and I would recommend Modern Bridal to any bride :)

Modern Bridal Studio was a great choice for my wedding hair and makeup! Carolyn was a great contact leading up to the big day. Paulina came to my apartment for a trial and did a fabulous job. She listened to what I asked for, and fixed it when it wasn't 100% right. Then on the big day, she and Rachelle showed up early, and did a fabulous job getting my whole bridal party all glamorous. They made my already beautiful bridesmaids look even more stunning. Every single person loved their hair and makeup, and they were flexible on adding/changing services once we were there. But most of all, my hair and makeup were perfect. They made me look like a model, and I received the most amazing compliments all day/night long. My hair was even put together so well, that it lasted the entire day after the wedding while I was swimming and splashing in the river. These girls were well worth the money and I would highly recommend them!

Carolyn ROCKS. She did my hair and makeup as well as the MOB and MOH's hair and makeup, too. I know that I am writing this review a little late but I can attest to the following facts:

1) Carolyn is a sweet, calming person who is wonderful to be around on a potentially very stressful morning! Considering that you (and your bridesmaids, and your mother, etc.) will spend the first part of your wedding day with your makeup artist, you want that person to be kind. She is fabulous, and not overbearing like some makeup/hair artists can be!

2) Your makeup will look flawless, and more importantly, IT WILL LAST. I looked the best I have ever looked. Carolyn is a total professional. My makeup stayed on for 14 hours, without a single touch up, and even by the very end I looked as fresh as if I had just stepped out of the chair. It was 95 degrees out with 100% humidity in Virginia and there were plenty of tears and then two hours of non-stop dancing, so it wasn't like there wasn't opportunity for the makeup to fail. My mother and sister, who both got their makeup done, also looked fantastic!

3) Carolyn also crafted a gorgeous and completely unique hair style for me that I LOVED.

4) She will listen to you while still guiding you in the process. I didn't like the lip color she initially chose for me, and when I told her so, she chose something different. The second color she chose was not one I would have initially picked out, but it looked amazing after application. I got compliments all day on it too (which, considering all the beautiful things you are wearing on your wedding day, is a pretty specific thing to get compliments on!).

5) Carolyn is worth every penny. Let's be honest, it's your wedding day, and you want to look the most beautiful you have ever looked in your life. Why why why would you skimp on the cost of a professional makeup artist and have your friend do it for you, only to have it melt off before the ceremony starts? Carolyn is worth it!

Carolyn was awesome. My pics came back just how I wished they would. Also, Carolyn is easy to talk to and be around, which is always nice. I hadn't done much comparison shopping so I don't know for sure if this could have been done for less $$, but at the end of the day I'm glad I spent what I did, it was worth it. The day goes by so fast, and pics are all you have to hold on to.

Carolyn at Modern Bridal Studio did my hair and makeup for my wedding, as well as that of my mother and bridesmaids. I really loved how I looked and felt beautiful all evening (the makeup and hair looked great in the photos too). Both the hair and makeup held up and looked fresh, even after being outside in the summer heat/humidity and after dancing for hours. She was professional, friendly, and very very talented. I definitely recommend her!

Carolyn, Ulrich and team were great to work with. I was a particularly nervous bride about hair and makeup, so I chose to have two trials with Ulrich for my wedding day hair and makeup. While it was worth it because it put my mind at ease (and I got to try the extensions on that Carolyn perfectly matched with my hair), I honestly would tell other brides not to do the second trial because Ulrich will come through -- trust me! He is very focused, caring, patient and detailed. He delivers! I was so happy with how his work turned out. Additionally, I had eight bridesmaids who all loved their hair and makeup!! The team MBS brings is amazing. They were on trend and followed my girls' inspiration photos really well. My bridesmaids have been in many weddings and they all had nothing but praise for the process. I would also note that this is an expensive vendor, but I think it was worth it because they're true professionals and know what they're doing.

Modern Bridal Studio did an amazing job on hair and makeup for my wedding! They take your requests on how many services to be completed, make a schedule for you and your stylists and book the appointments all for you. The stylists traveled out about 45 minutes to my wedding venue and stayed within our time frame. I loved my stylist Emine, from the trial to the day of, she was always personable! My wedding hair and makeup stayed beautifully throughout the the entirety of our outdoor summer winery wedding!

Modern Bridal Studio did amazing work for my bridesmaids and me on my wedding day! Paulina and Erica styled the group, and Paulina did my hair and makeup. She did a fantastic job of listening to what I wanted, looking at pictures with me on Pinterest and ensuring that I looked and felt fabulous on my special. The result was a professionally done makeup job that looked like me, but ten times as glamorous in a way I could never do myself, which is exactly what you want on your wedding day and when you're paying! I highly recommend this vendor for anyone looking for hair and makeup services for a wedding.

I chose Modern Bridal Studio to be the hair and make up vendor for my wedding in Alexandria, VA. I had Carolyn, the owner of the company, do my hair and make up. I had 7 other ladies scheduled for hair and make up, and there were separate artists that came to take care of their services so that Carolyn's attention was focused on me. I paid for all of the services in advance, but I had many friends visit my hotel room while we were getting ready. Two of my friends loved how great everyone looked and wished that they had scheduled appointments. When Carolyn was finished with my hair and make up, she offered to do my friends as well even though they weren't scheduled! She had the capability for them to pay on credit right there. Everyone came out gorgeous!

Throughout the trial process, Carolyn was great about offering suggestions and trying to recreate exactly what I was looking for. I had several trials because I wanted to try different looks and she was very patient and tried multiple looks at each trial. She took pictures of each from all different angles and sent them to me so that I could look them over at home and decide which look was the best. On the day of my wedding, my hair came out amazing and I got a ton of compliments on it. My make up was flawless and stayed on all day and night.

I would highly recommend Carolyn based on her demeanor, her ability to be a creative partner in the process, her professionalism, and her hair & make up abilities.

Modern Bridal Studio was wonderful for onsite hair and makeup. They were easy to work with, were very efficient and did an excellent job with the bridesmaids' hair and my hair and makeup. I couldn't have been happier with the way my hair and makeup turned out. The stylist easily kept to the schedule we created, which allowed us plenty of time to get ready and relax a bit before heading to the ceremony. I don't think the hair/makeup portion my wedding day could have gone better.

Carolyn did a fabulous job with both my hair and makeup. I had an idea of the vibe I was going for (and a few pictures that went along with that) but I wasn't entirely sure how I wanted everything to look. She talked through everything with me and ended up styling my hair in the perfect way, even without that much direction from me. Her prices were high, but were fair in the DC market. Also, she offered a small discount for paying for myself & the BMs in one payment (and I had the BMs just pay me directly).

Carolyn and her assistant are true professionals. They were on time and managed to style the hair of many women in my bridal party in a short amount of time. They did a different style for each bridesmaid--and they all looked fantastic and complimented each individual's hair well! I really loved my hair and make-up too. I still felt like "me" with the way she did my make-up. They also were just really friendly and calm--a wonderful thing for your wedding day :)

Carolyn did a great job. I had my hair and make-up done for my wedding, and felt absolutely beautiful. I felt like she really listened to what I wanted. She also did my Mom's hair and did my sister's make-up. We all received so many compliments throughtout the night and felt amazing. Carolyn is absolutely wonderful. She did an amazing job on both my hair and makeup. We did a trial a few months before the wedding and she was so flexible and willing to make any changes I requested both then and the day of. Some of the price of the trial went towards the overall price of her services for the day of, which was a plus. She also did my mom and sister's hair and makeup, and both looked beautiful.

I struggled a little with finding someone as I have darker skin and most artists I found seemed to not show any variety of skin tones on their websites in their sample work. Carolyn did show some variety, and she very quickly picked the perfect shades for my skin tone. Her prices are very reasonable - no higher really than any other quotes I received, and the quality was great. Definitely recommend.

I had a great experience with Modern Bridal. They were able to fit me in for a trial and were able to accommodate my wedding date even though I waited until about a month before our wedding! Paulina did my hair and makeup and I LOVED her. She was super sweet, professional, on time, and patient with me :). She also did a fantastic job on my hair and my makeup and I loved how I looked! Carolyn was great as well and helped coordinate everything. I also appreciated how flexible they were with my wedding day schedule! The only negative thing was that the assistant who worked on my bridesmaids' hair was an hour late to our hotel the day of the wedding. It set us back and we were behind schedule as a result. After I let Carolyn know about this, she offered me a complimentary facial at her spa and I am taking her up on her offer! Aside from the assistant being late, the overall experience was a great one and I would definitely recommend Modern Bridal :)

Amazing Makeup Artist!

I've always been particular about my makeup artists and was nervous about finding someone who would match my look. Rachelle was by far one of the best artists I've had and really listened and matched what I was looking for both my wedding look. She was so easy to talk to and really helped me relax on my wedding day! Highly recommend her for your event.

Carolyn was incredible and wonderful to work with. She did my hair and makeup and all of my bridesmaid's and mother's makeup. One of her associates did my bridesmaids' hair. She was able to do exactly what I wanted for my hair and makeup with relatively little guidance. The results were beautiful and looked great in pictures. Working with Carolyn was great. Her quality of work for my mom and I (hair and makeup) was wonderful. The photos ended up amazing and her airbrush is second to NONE! (seriously... it's some magic formula she invented.)

Make sure you come to her with ideas of what you want though, and don't be afraid to push for it... as she's got a lot of experience and may push for something that's popular with others, but may not fit your personality.

My stylist was extremely chill and nice which was a perfect addition to the wedding day events. I love how she helped to customize my own undo look based on my style and wedding look. Was also a nice feature that I could use an outside make up artist as many vendors only provide package deals. Great vendor to work with!

Definitely pricey, but so it goes in this area. My makeup looked lovely and natural - not one bit cakey or overdone. My hair is difficult to work with, but she managed to do a beautiful job even though we changed the design the morning of! They were a little hard to get in touch with, initially and afterward, but everyone showed up on time for the trial run and on the wedding day so no complaints. This was the cost for my hair and makeup, and hair for four bridesmaids and two flower girls.

Carolyn and Paulina were wonderful to work with. Both listened to exactly what I wanted and made it happen. The only "problem" I had was my wedding hair was not the same as my trial! While my wedding hair turned out beautifully, I did prefer my trial hair. I can see how other brides could be surprised by a different look on their wedding day. Otherwise, it was a great experience!

Carolyn was fabulous! As soon as we met her during the trial, my mom and I knew that we wanted her to do our hair and make-up for my wedding. She is so sweet and calm and just a lot of fun! Everything turned out so beautifully, I was amazed at how great she made me look! Everything looked flawless in the photographs. Despite the rain, and the Virginia humidity, my hair and makeup were still going strong at the end of the night. Everyone who had their hair and make-up done (my mom, the groom's mom, and the bridesmaids) all loved how it came out. I would definitely highly recommend Carolyn!
